A/N: Alright, here is that new chapter I was talking about. Where I would be going back to that flash of light... but with a new perspective. You should be able to guess which perspective after the first paragraph.
My body dropped to the ground as I entered my den, high up in the mountains, near a small village. It wasn't anything new; my species were used to being chased out of human villages. Often it's when we try to warn these villages of upcoming disasters, which slowly led to my kind being linked to them after a while. Luckily this time around, I wasn't hurt too badly, as the humans' waste was thrown at me this time around instead of garbage. It still didn't feel good emotionally, but I'll survive. That's what we Absol do best… aside from becoming bad omens. I laid my head on my paws and let out a deep breath. I sighed in relaxation as the moonlit floor slowly turned into darkness.
A bright, almost blinding flash of light made my entire body flinch. I didn't know who or what was causing it, but I knew I was doomed if humans had found me.
Out of nowhere, something hit against my side, a round object that I've seen children from the village play with, bounced to the ground as I jumped in shock. I crouched to the ground, why in the world would a toy hit my side? My heart sunk when I realized I standing in a field, where a lone child was standing. As if he weren't expecting an Absol to appear out of nowhere. We both stood still for a couple minutes, while I wondered when a human would come and crack my skull open with a rock. The kid, on the other hand, screamed like it had just seen a monster… nothing new.
I stood up and took the soccer ball in my jaws, gently lifting it off the ground, and started trotting towards the running child. There was no malice in my approach, I had no desire for seeking vengeance on a human so young, but I did want to return the child's toy. I knew I'd be horrified if my favorite stick snapped, or my favorite piece of Mossy Rock fell in a lake with no way to get it back. So I'd assume a child wouldn't be too happy about losing a soccer ball. I broke off into a sprint after realizing the child had slowed down and was only twelve paces ahead of me.
After I had ran around the child, blocking where he was going off with my body, I simply stared at the child. "Don't eat me!" The child squealed as it tightly closed its eyes. The fact that it was so ready to be killed showed just how scary we absol are to humans. Even with our species' desire to get into as little fights as possible; we were basically pacifists that wanted to save people from their doom. The child realized its back wasn't up against a wall and started to scamper back on it rear end.
I sat down, and gently settled the ball on the ground. With a yelp, I gained the child's attention, and he looked up. Fear was still written all over its eyes. It didn't take me too long to figure out this child was actually a male. He was small, and seemed relatively harmless compared to the adult humans I'm used to being assaulted by. He had darker skin than what I was used to seeing, but not completely black. His hair… there wasn't a whole lot of it. His close were simple: some loose shorts and aloose shirt that lacked sleeves
.
I nudged the ball with my paw, making sure my paws did not penetrate its surface; I wanted to return the toy, not damage it. It rolled forward and stopped in between the boy's spread out legs. For a couple seconds, he blinked and looked up at me. "Thanks….?" the child clearly didn't know how to react to the actual nature of an Absol. I bowed respectfully, but flinched when the child reached his hand out to pet me. Just because it was a child, it didn't mean he wasn't dangerous to be around. I didn't want to risk being hurt again twice in one… night.
I broke off sprinting past the child, towards a tree line. The sun was still high in the sky! What on Earth was I thinking? A human could have spotted me and have me killed for being so close to their offspring! Actually, when I got back to my cave, the moon was high in the sky; it was midnight! Now it looked like it was either noon, or shortly after noon. I hid myself under a bush and panted. My eyes could barely hold themselves open. Hadn't I slept? That could be the only reason for the sun being so high, and there were a couple gashes when I went to sleep.
I looked down and saw that I was still injured and my body felt weak. Did I not go to sleep? My body answered that question when my conscious mind slipped away from me.

My eyes shot open when a mass of human voices made my eardrums hurt. There was a group of people, a woman was standing facing a man, who had an odd device on her shoulders. Next to the woman was the child from earlier, holding a bowl in his left, and a soccer ball tucked under his right arm.The lady pointed over towards me and started speaking. "This young man standing next to me, was almost struck down by the dangerous beast in that bush, but was shocked to realize that the monster had a heart.
"I… I just saw it appear in front of me while I was practicing soccer and…" the boy paused and shuttered. "It chased me, it was going to hurt me… but then it gave me back my soccer ball and ran. Like it was actually scared of me and not the other way around," the boy said. Well, he wasn't wrong, but I knew we were scared of each other. He ran away from me, I ran the moment he tried to touch me. "And now, we have tracked this monster down, and brought food with us. We will see if the food can hold it still long enough for us to get a good look at it.
With that, the boy approached my bush, he wasn't nearly as scared as he was yesterday; he had back up I did not. The child knelt down. "Hey there!" He then tried to coax me out of the bush, offering his hand, putting his soccer ball down, and settled the bowl of food down. He backed up as I stepped out of the bush. My eyes stared deep into him, expecting the adults with him to strike me with that shoulder mounted device. When I saw that there were no malous behind those eyes, I bowed again.
It may seem odd, for a Pokemon to bow, but for me it was important. It was the only real way I could convey my thanks, as I knew humans didn't know how to speak. I then stretched out of my bow to release the tension on my tired muscles and started eating. As I stood, the two other humans circled me, pointing the shoulder mounted device at me while the woman spoke about some nonsense and comments on my appearance.
Suddenly a small hand made its way to the back if my head, which made me jump. My body didn't completely move, but I was in shock. The boy was crouching in front of me, his hand was now resting on top of my head, and I wanted to run away. I did not however, as it was probaly not a good idea to start panicking or attacking; the boy fed me. He had fed me, which was way better than how I've been treated by any human before. So I just stood and awaited for my neck to possibly be twisted.
That's when it felt like I was flying, the boy started coursing his fingers though my fur, scratching and petting me. "Its fur is really soft!" The boy said as I took a bit of pride. We Absol could be great cuddlers if given the chance to, And our fur was almost always nice and tidy. Unless a human threw mud at us, chased us away, driving a knife into our eyes or… I let those sorts of thoughts leave my mind. All those would do is distract me from how good this felt.
I then lost control of myself, and rubbed up against the boy like a Meowth would while greeting its trainer. The boy was almost shocked at the sudden contact, which was being brought on by me. "W-hat?" He said in shock. Suddenly must have realized I was being friendly, and wrapped his arms around me. I've watched humans do this in the village as a sign of affection. For me, this boy was mine now, and I was going to keep him. Maybe not from his home, I had no right taking him away from his parents after all, but perhaps I can follow him home wnd hide near his house.
"As you can see, the beast turns out to be quite friendly, and also seems to act like an overgrown house cat. It might be possible that this is simply a mutant cat that escaped from a nearby research facility," the lady said. What was a cat? Was that a Pokemon I did not know about? I wouldn't be surprised… that lady called me a mutant! That made me grumble, but then somebody started to scratch my back. I swear, human hands could be very dangerous, but oh so gentle.
The patted my back a couple more times and turned to follow the two adults out of the forest. And I was going t follow them.
