I followed the small group out of the forest and back out into the field, where the little boy and I had met, and it seemed like we were heading towards a black field with a bunch of cars. So far none of the humans have noticed me tailing behind them; I kept my distance from them. The woman of the group turned for a second and nudged the man who weilded the shoulder mounted light cannon. "We should hurry up, that thing's following us," I could barely even hear. We Absol were not particularly strong, fast, nor were our senses the best amongst all Pokemon. So my hearing wasn't particularly as good as a Growlithe's or even a Pyroar, but my senses were still better than a human right? I mean, we can predict weather pretty easily, so that meant at least one of our senses were top notch.

Whatever that sense was, was lost to me, however.

The boy quickly spun around as I charged the group. He raised his arms up like I was an aggravated Houndour, shutting his eyes as I came to an abrupt stop. My large claws dug into the dirt as I tried not to barrel into this kid. "Hey! I'm just trying to be nice!" I yipped as I sat down in front of the boy. "H-huh?" The boy opened his eyes and sighed in one which looked like relief. I immediately went and licked the boy on the nose, which caused him to flinch. I sat down in front of him like an obedient little Growlithe, down to the tail wagging and tongue sticking out.

"Psst, get the camera rolling, we can get more footage," the lady said. So that shoulder mounted thing was a camera? Though… What is footage? I didn't care though, as this was my chance to make friends with a human, and not be treated like a beast that brings a town to the brink of destruction. I put on my big, cute eyes and raised a paw. Maybe, just maybe, I would like to be as unthreatening as possible. "Why are you…" the boy placed a hand on my head and I happily leaned into the hand, asking to be scratched, petted, whatever. I was just lonely, having lived in isolation almost my whole life… some pokemon desire company too, I was one of those pokemon, and I didn't care where it came from.

I jumped when I heard a footstep behind me, quickly spinning around, and stood in between the boy and whatever was behind me. What it was, was a Magmar was squaring up, likely due to the humans behind me. "Don't attack these guys!" I said, lowering myself in preparation of a fight. "And why shouldn't I? That boy looks like he'd taste pretty good while burnt to a crisp," the Magmar said. "That is a child you plan on hurting!" I growled. Even if I barely knew the child, I wouldn't let that happen; it's simply wrong to think about even harming something so young.

"Well… I wasn't serious. Humans tastes pretty bad no matter if they're burnt or not. I'm going to go find a Furret to ear," the Magmar said as he turned around and booked it towards the forests we had just left.

"What…?" The woman said as she scratched her head. "Was that a Pokemon?" She asked. The cameraman pinched his arm and stared at the Magmar as it disappeared from sight. The boy looked at the Magmar and back at me, then pet my head. "So…. are you an Absol?" The boy asked. "I wasn't sure if I were looking at a monster, or a weird cat… but I guess…" I let a little bark, which must have sounded like "Absol!" to the boy. "I… Oh. My. God!" The boy backed away got a second. Did he not know I was an Absol? Surely he did, he must have, as he referred to me as a monster.

The boy then hugged me. "I'm taking you with me then. If… this is a dream, then I want it to be a good dream. I'm going to keep you as a pet!" The boy then tugged at me gently, trying to get me to follow. Instead of attempting to follow, I grabbed the boy by his shirt, like an Absol would with their young, and flung the the boy onto my back and barked at him. "Lead the way!" I said, awaiting the boy's orders. The lady and man, who still had a camera pointed at me slowly led the way, so I assumed I should follow them.

We waked up to the black field, which had a bunch of yellow lines seemingly mixed in in a certain pattern. Before me stood a human male, he wore blue, had a had with some metal on it… and had a belt covered in varying weapons. Just before him was some yellow… rope? With black texts on it, which I assumed was supposed to act as a barrier. "So… how did filming go…?" The human paused as he looked at me. "What is that thing?" He asked. The boy on my back began speaking.

"That thing that attacked me yesterday… or rather gave me back my soccer ball. This is that thing, It's really friendly!" He said. I tilted my head at being called an "it". I had a gender, I was a female, but I was being called an "it". I rolled my eyes at the though; it didn't matter what I was being called, so long as it didn't cause confusion. "It looks like a big cat, with a hairless face and horn," the officer said. That was untrue, I didn't… look like a cat! What was a cat? I had lite, black fur on my face. That had to be kept warm as well after all. "And why are you riding that thing, Micheal?" a woman's voice pierced my ears as I caught sight of a woman.

She wasn't that old, maybe thirty or forty years old which… I think is young for humans? Maybe it wasn't, I'm not too sure. I just knew that they were dangerous, and I didn't want to deal with some of the tools at their disposal.

"Mom, I didn't choose to ride it! It grabbed me by the shirt and tossed me on its back," the boy said. So I assume that Micheal was this child's name. "Then get off and away from it! It's dangerous to be around! What if it gets angry? It'll stab you with its horn and then drag you to hell where it belongs!" I dropped at the woman's tone and words. I stared at my feet, whined, and spun my head around to grab Micheal's shirt. As soon as I did, I pulled the boy off, being careful not to have my horn away, especially from the chest and neck, and knelt down to lower the kid onto his feet.

"But its so nice! See mom? It put me back down on my feet!" Micheal said. "And it's only doing that because we know we'll shoot it!" The woman hand her hands kn her hips. Micheal's mother turned to a cop. "So? What are you waiting for? Shoot it!" The woman said. I backed away, hiding the fact that I was mere seconds away from crying my eyes out; I thought I would finally be able to turn my life around, find a home that wasn't a terrible cave, and maybe even a human to call mine. And now that human's mother was trying to get me killed?

"Mom, look, come over here!" Micheal motioned me to come closer, with heavy hesitation, I stepped up to the yellow, roped barrier and sat in front where the mother was standing. My head hung low as I gave her the kitten eyes, which hopefully looked cute and sad… mostly the cute part. It was damn near impossible for me to be able to hide the sadness and fear in my eyes. "See mom? If he were a meanie, he'd attack you! He's scared of the police!" The boy said.

So I was a male now? Odd, I did not have anything hanging between… well, it was a fair misconception. Most humans don't check that spot on Absol, as they'd rather chase us out, or even kill and skin us. "Plus he's super fluffy!" Micheal stuck his hand on the long, hanging fur around my neck, a mane if you will. He then scratched away, which started making me purr, but I didn't show my comfort at the touch; there were still the blue clothed humans who had their hands on their weapons. "Micheal, stop. It…" She paused as the boy looked dead at her.

"Mom, remember the Pokemon sow?" He asked. "That one with the magical animals? I do… you said you wanted one and cried when you learnt that they didn't exist," she said. "Well, I found one! This is an Absol, and I want to keep him! Think Mom. He can watch over me while I'm on the bus, walk me to school of needed, and he can guard the house!" I side eyed him, being tired of being referred to as a male, but didn't do anything like snap at him; he was young, so he was naive. That wasn't worth attacking him right?

"Micheal, I swear to god, you and your ideas."
