"Hey Absol, where are you going?" I swiveled my head around to see Micheal reach out for me. We were still standing in that black field, the humans in blue were still ready to strike in a moment's notice and his mother seemed… a bit unfriendly. I barked and sat down, the boy ran over to me, and trapped me with his arms. The boy's arms were way stronger than they appeared, but wouldn't be able to hold me down; I could easily kill this child if I wanted to. "Mom, can we keep him?" Micheal asked hopefully. His face buried its way into my chest while I laid my head on top of his. Just because I will likely have to say farewell… it doesn't mean I can't be friendly towards my human right?

"Micheal, we cannot keep that thing. You know how dangerous, and probably illegal it is to keep him?" The mother pinched the very top of her nose, where it met her forehead, and sighed contently. An blue cladded human pulled off a black device from his belt and a crackling voice came out. "Yes sir," the human said and placed the device back to where it was. I took that as a sign to leave, so I tried to shake my way out of this child's grasp, but I found it difficult to do so without bodily harming Micheal.

I nudged the boy a couple times and gestured towards the forest, it was time to go, and I didn't want to throw him to the ground. Micheal got the message and took a step back, there were tears rolling down his face, likely as a result of a tantrum. He seemed to have always wanted a Pokemon if his mother's words were anything to go by. So I assume it wasn't emotional attachment, but that didn't stop me from what I was about to do. I licked him. I kept on licking him, wiping the tears off of his face, and then turned and bolted for the woods.

I wish I could have stayed with the child, having a human for myself was what I would've wanted, but I suppose that's just not how life goes. Never does anything I wish for actually come true; if that were true I wouldn't have half the scars I had hidden under regrown fur. Whatever, I can survive in the wild, even if I hated having to evade human beings again.

While I slowly made my way through the forest, I heard a twig snap, heavy breathing, and a low growl. I was half expecting an Ursursng to be standing behind me, but what did it matter at this rate? I was alone and had absolutely zero chance at winning a fight against most Pokemon due to how frail I was. Absol aren't exactly the most tough or strong species, which was likely a trade off we made for our ability to sense incoming, dangerous weather. I turned around to see something resembling an Ursurang, but it lacked the markings on its belly, and was much shorter.

Its claws were also shorter and stubbier so… it must have been a disabled Ursurang. I wasn't going to go down without a fight. I swiftly used Foul Play and my Opponent shrieked in pain and I rammed into its stomach and it fell to the ground. It was dead. Its belly had caved in and I could see where its individual ribs had broken upon impact. I whimpered at the sight and kept on whimpering knowing that I caused this, even as I walked away from the dead Ursurang. I had killed another living being… I am a monster.

As soon as sunlight crawled its way into my temporary shelter, I crawled out of it, a fallen, hollow log had been my den for the night. I let out a yawn, stretched and my senses slowly started awakening. My hearing told me there was somebody behind me. My head slowly turned around and my heart fell. A Houndoom, a male, must have known I was sleeping in the log. As it was now staring at me, feeling its gaze sent a shiver down my spine. I know that Absol and Houndoom did have the ability to breed together, but that might not have been what this one was after.

"Why were you standing on my log?" I asked, stepping back as the Dark Pokemon jumped down from his perch. "I simply smelled an Absol and that trail led me here," He said. "So are you going to attack me? Do I turn and run, only to be burnt alive by a Fire Blast?" I asked while the Houndoom got a bit too close for comfort. "If I wanted to do that, you wouldn't have woken up," Houndoom said with a slightly hurt expression. "Do you think we Houndoom are nothing but sadistic bastards looking to torture and kill humans, Pokemon, anything we can sink our teeth into or burn with our flames?" Houndoom asked.

He kept on going. "I was wandering around, hoping I could find my pack… A flash of light happened a day ago, and we all got separated. Now, humans are even more scared of me than usual, and I run into strange looking Pokemon that run at the sight of me," he said. "Then I smelt something familiar and hoped I could find something I can recognize," Houndoom sat on his haunches, unlike a Ninetales who would've sat down on their hind legs. My mind drifted off to Ninetales… those damned, elegant, entitled bastards. Because they were pretty, humans sought them out as pets, because of their humans, they figured they were owed the world because their owners ruled it. Perhaps I was just mad about how I can't get a human if I tried, but a Ninetales simply had to be lucky and evolve and all the humans begged to have that Ninetales as a pet.

Thinking of it now, Houndoom and Absol had the issue of not being particularly friendly looking, somewhat scary, and had prejudice for differing reasons. I also sat down, while the Houndoom's nose was still in my face. "I apologize for that. I'm just used to being attacked all the time, so I expected you to do the same," I said. Houndoom shook his head. "I should have let you know I was above you before you fell asleep," he said. We both paused and looked at each other for a few minutes, I watched the Houndoom look me over, taking note of my white, lush fur. He also must've seen my lack of well-defined muscles all over my body. We Absol had no need for such strength; we weren't fighters.

Houndoom on the other hand, his almost black fur looked sleek and clean, his orange belly looked like it would be nice to lay my head on. As there were two powerfully built forelegs connected to said chest, which meant I would also be well protected. The hind legs looked like they could kick my head off if he so chose. Houndoom's horns weren't sharply turned towards his neck; he wasn't an alpha or leader of his pack. The bone looking structures on his back and collarbone looking structure looked well polished. "So, do you want to tag along with me in my search for my pack?" Houndoom asked.

"I.. I don't know. Will they hurt me?" I asked. "No they will not. I'll make sure of it. I won't hurt you; I will not hurt you. I'd just like to have some company. We Houndoom are pack Pokemon for a reason, and we love the company," Houndoom said. "I… I'd like some company as well. I almost got to have a human of my own, but their mother and a few other humans made it clear that I wasn't welcome," I said. "Then… When we find my pack, we will be your pack as well. Everyone deserves some affection and company… Come on, we need to get moving. We can talk along the way and get to know each other. Can't have a pack member I barely know can I?" Houndoom asked.

"Of course, I'd like to learn a bit about you as well. I hope we can be good friends," I said.
