"Have a talent for knocking a wizard of their feet?"
Dite looked in a mix of horror and embarrassment at the wizard whom she was still sitting between their legs as said wizard smirked at her; his books lay in heaps on the floor around them. She wasn't sure how to respond, she had just knocked him down while she was in her own world in her head, which she decided she needed to quit doing until she was either in the common room, the library or dorm room where she couldn't knock people over unsuspected. She gathered her courage and looked the wizard in the eye.
"Lypamai pou se chrypisa, den edosa prosochi." Dite blushed as he smirked, which reached his gray eyes.
"You know if I wasn't as smart as I am and didn't find that translation spell, I wouldn't know what you said, Lady Dite." Regulus smirked as she blushed in embarrassment.
"I'm not a lady Regulus." She looked away from his gray eyes.
She noted that they where like melted silver not the steel silver that Sirius's where. In this time wizards weren't as neanderthalic as the boys in her past. He stood up and offered her his hand, taking it she was pulled to her feet and that's when she noticed that for a fourth year he was a bit taller then most. She suspected that all Black men where on the taller side since Sirius in the future would be about 6'3". She also noted that Regulus didn't let his hair grow out like his brother and kept it neat vs. the unruly that was all Sirius.
"I really am sorry about that." She said reaching for one of the books she knocked out of his hand when knocked him over.
"Dite Birdy, don't think anything of it, I'm fine, my fragile male ego isn't dented or unfix able."
"I'm sure it isn't, your overly talkative this evening." She spoke her cheeks still showing her embarrassment.
"Well, I was just knocked over by the goddess of love her self Aphrodite." He took the book that she offered him from her.
"Not you too. Sirius refuses to call me Dite at my request." She muttered.
Sure the boys where to different people, Sirius like to laugh and have a good time with his friends, while Regulus was more reserved and showed his intelligence when he found himself across from her at her table in the library. They've had many debates about the treatment of magical creatures, which was a topic they laughed about due to his brother protesting the rights they had two months ago. Their friendship was a secret since they both knew how the boy they had in common would throw a tantrum if he found the two talking together.
"How did you like your Christmas and birthday gift?" He asked.
"You're the one who sent that critic message and the book." She said in surprise.
"Yes, I did notice before break, that you where looking into Immortality. I found the book in the Black Library and thought it might help you." He nodded.
"Thank you, I enjoyed reading it, and it helped me immensely." She smiled up at him.
"I'm glad, I want to know why you're looking into it." He asked looking her in the eyes.
"Maybe I'll tell you one day." She moved to walk around him.
He grabbed her upper arm to stop her; "Just don't let anyone know what your looking into, it will have terrible out comes for you." He said before letting go and walking away, leaving her slightly speechless.
She thought about what he said as she finished her walk to the tower. It's true that she could unknowingly bring Dumbledore's suspicions down on her, thinking that she was up to something. Or she could involuntarily draw attention from the Dark Lord to her existence that would be horrible, since it was rumored that he was a natural born at Legilimency, the ability to look into others minds. If she ever became a blip on his radar, she would be in more danger then she was as Harry Potter's muggle-born best friend and brightest witch of her age. Maybe with Regulus's help she could stay off the radar of both Voldimort and Dumbledore. But that would mean she would have to trust him with her and her families secret that she was from the future where he wasn't alive. For a second time that night she was pulled from her thoughts by one of the Black brothers.
"What where you doing with my brother?" Sirius asked his voice
"Having a chat, what do you think we where doing snogging?" She rolled her eyes.
"Better not have been." He sneered.
"You aren't my fathers." She spat.
"Regulus is bad news, he likes the Dark arts like all the Slytherins do." Sirius said growing angrier.
She noticed the parchment that James and Remus held and them along with Peter where stairing at her. She knew then that they had finished the Marauders map. She walked over and snatched it from them, seeing that it read Aphrodite Prewett; she was both relived and angry.
"You spied on me!" She nearly yelled at him.
"No, but I want to know if you believe in the dark arts?" He questioned as she watched his silver eyes become like silver Lava before her.
"No I don't you, impelikos egoistikos narkissistikos malakas! I never participated in the practical uses of the dark arts at the Institute because I refused, and this is what I got." She said pulling the jumper she wore over her head and off. Not caring that she stood there in a bra, skirt, her tights and boots before four boys.
She watched, as Sirius's eyes grew wide at the sight of her scar that stretched from her right hip to her left shoulder. Once she felt that they saw enough. She pulled her shirt back on. She felt exposed and she knew she lied about where she got the scar, but she wanted them to know she never believed in Dark arts, sure the theory behind the subject was interesting to read, since she could see that any spell created could be used with dark purposes. Like the Lumos charm, make it bright enough and you could possibly purposely blind someone with a simple light charm.
"But you have a book from the Black Library." Sirius wouldn't let up.
"I received it for Christmas with no name attached, so until this moment I had no clue where it came from. If you think I'm lying, go ahead an owl my fathers." She said, feeling gutted that the boys she thought of as her friends judged her because of who she spoke to and read.
"I'll do that, but stay away from the Slytherins." He sneered.
"I have two father's already, I don't need another one. So if you are all done judging me for wanting to read books about anything and everything. I'm going to bed before Mr. Black can accuse me of being a blood purist Skyla." She spat, practically running from the common room after snatching the book from Black.
She hadn't realized that tears had slipped from her eyes until Lily and Alice asked what was wrong. With the inquiry, she told them all about her conversation with Regulus and being judged by the Marauders. As she explained what was said she saw Lily get even angrier. Soon she stood and left the dorm room, probably to go tell the boys what shit friends they are.
"What did you call Sirius?" Alice asked, the girl knowing that it was probably something he deserved.
"I called him an 'imbecilic egotistical narcissistic asshole'." She admitted.
"You know what helps me when I'm upset, sending an owl to my dad. Maybe you can see if your dads can come for Hogsmead weekend next month." Alice suggested with a small smile.
That was true for her too in her past; she would send an owl to her dad after Ron had done something to upset her. Once she got a response she would feel better. She knew that the twins would definitely come if she asked, that's how they are. And she started to feel like they where her true fathers as she spent time with them.
Over the next few weeks she stayed clear of the Marauders and Regulus, seeing that the five of them where the cause of her sadness. It was childish that Sirius, James, Peter and even Remus saw the silver and green as a sign of evil and darkness. But not every wizard that came out of that house was evil and mad. Just like every wizard or witch that came from Gryffindor wasn't brave and good, she though thinking of Peter in her time. She had received a letter back from her father's both agreeing to meet her for her Hogsmead weekend, that was after they sent a Howler to the Marauders, yelling at how shitty they where about how they acted, and they also spoke directly to James stating that they spoke to his father and to expect a letter from him. She never asked them to do that, but they must not have liked their daughter being upset because they thought she was a dark witch for talking to a boy from another house. The day before she was set to meet up with her fathers for a bit of father, daughter time, which they even invited Mr. Greengrass and Alice along as the two girls where best friends and Lily had a date with a Hufflepuff. She was walking through a corridor, when someone grabbed her and pulled her into a secret hallway.
"You've been avoiding me, Dite." A voice said as the tip of the person's wand lite up to revel Regulus was the person who grabbed her.
"No I haven't." She lied.
"Aw does it have anything to do with the Howler my brother and his imbecilic friends got from your fathers?" He asked with a smirk.
"It's not a good idea for us to speak to each other." She looked at the ground.
"So my brother had said something to you." He sneered pulling away from her with a sigh.
Before she could respond, she was back in the middle of the corridor in between James and Remus with Sirius standing in front of her wand pointed at his brother.
"Leave her alone Reggi." Sirius sneered at his little brother.
"You know for someone who is only 10 months older, you are practically dim." Regulus drawled hands pushed into the pockets of his pants looking like he didn't care that Sirius had his wand drawn.
"I'm serious, Regulus leave Aphrodite alone." He stepped closer to his brother.
"Or you'll what, curse me, you've done that, hex me, that's been done, prank me well your good at pranking anyone who you perceive as dark or evil." Regulus shrugged which was very non-pureblood of him.
"Just stay away from her, your no good for her." Sirius glared.
"Are you afraid that she'll chose me, just like mother chose me?" Regulus smirked at Sirius.
The next few things happened fast, Sirius dropped his wand and threw a right hook at his brother. Dite heard a loud crunch of either a nose braking, a knuckle breaking, or both. James pushed her to Remus as he tried to pull Sirius off his brother who stumbled against the wall when James had a good hold on Sirius.
"You were always the violent one brother." He said whipping his bloody nose off on the sleeve of his robes.
"Just go back to your evil friends and leave her alone." Sirius yelled.
Dite stared in horror at the Black brothers, wondering what had come between them to cause them to act this way towards each other. She pushed Remus and ran, ran out of the castle, towards the forest. She knew that things where changing because she was here, but did she make the fragile bond that was between Sirius and Regulus even more so? She decided once she got here to save as many of those that died in her time from that fate. But what if her trying to save Regulus, Peter, James, Lily, Alice, Frank, Remus, and the order from a terrible fate she causes something else to happen.
Site found herself in the area of the Thestrals, that Hagrid cared for and that pulled the carriages. She could see them since she had watched her grandfather pass in her past, she just never told anyone. She sat there and watched them, a baby came up to her and nosed her knee.
"I'm sorry, I didn't bring anything with me." She spoke softly to the baby.
