Chapter 8 Mr. Mystery
Ron and Jean are now back at the warehouse after leaving Yuya's house since Yuya and the others have already gone to You Show Duel School. When they get there, Yuto and Katrina are already there waiting for them.
"Where have you guys been the last night? We were worried when both of you didn't answer our calls." Yuto says.
Ron says, "We kind of turned off our Duel Disks since we are staying at a friend's house."
"You guys have already made friends with people from this dimension? That sure is fast." Katrina says.
"Actually, you know them very well, Katrina." Jean says with a slight chuckle. "We were actually staying at YOUR house. Your Mom is really nice."
Yuto and Katrina are surprised, Katrina can't believe that Ron and Jean have already met her family. "Are you kidding me? You guys have been staying in MY house and you didn't bother contacting me for this?"
"We have to make sure that they still miss you, after all." Jean says. "And you don't need to worry, your brother, your two sisters, and your mother really miss you and Yusho sensei. They are not mad for you to disappear from their home."
Katrina sighs, but then she is a little confused, "Wait, I thought I only have a brother and a sister, not two sisters? Who is the other one?"
"Her name is Vivian." Ron says. "According to Yuni, her family adopted her recently from the orphanage because of a promise made by her birth father and Yusho sensei. I had a duel with her, and I lost.
Ron is thinking if he should talk about the Fusion Spy that they met in You Show, but he decides not to so that they won't make a scene.
Jean says, "Indeed, she caught Ron off guard by using a Rank-Up-Magic to double the Xyz level's Rank during the battle phase. If she is this strong, I wonder how strong are your family? By the way, why don't you come with us so you guys can reunite?"
Katrina wants to meet the ones she care the most, but she knows that there are risks, so she says, "But..."
Yuto says, "Katrina, you should go, they are your family."
"Are you sure, Yuto?" Katrina looks at him.
"I am sure." Yuto gives her a smile, which reminds her of her brother.
"Okay. I'll go." Katrina says as she follows Ron and Jean to You Show.
After Yuni and Yuya have a duel with each other in the school, Yuya looks at the door and is confused, "I thought that Ron and Jean left before us, how come they haven't come to You Show Duel School?"
"Maybe they have some business to do?" Yuzu asks.
But much to their relief, Ron arrives at the place and greets them, Vivian asks, "Where is Jean? Isn't your sister with you?"
"She is outside, we managed to bring a friend here, but she's a little nervous. So Jean is outside trying to calm her down." Ron says.
Shuzo hears it and then says, "A guest? Are we going to have a new student?"
Yuzu sighs as she smacks Shuzo with her paper fan, causing him to fall flat on the floor.
Yuni asks, "Why is she nervous about coming to our school? Did she think that our school is full of bullies or something?"
"No, but rather..." Ron sighs. "She was nervous about seeing you again after disappearing for 7 years without telling you her whereabouts."
Yuya and Yuni gasp in shock, if Ron was correct about this, that means the person might be...both of them quickly rush outside of the school, much to others' confusion.
Back outside, Katrina is still nervous about entering the school, she asks, "Are you sure they won't hate me?"
"Come on, they won't hate you." Jean says.
Yuya and Yuni rush outside of the school, and both of them gasp as they see Katrina with Jean. She has grown a lot since their last meeting, but her facial appearances are much the same as before. Tears start to form in Yuya and Yuni's eyes, as they can't believe their sister is back.
"Katrina, please tell me it is you!" Yuya says.
Katrina is shocked at first, but then she smiles, "I am back. Brother, Sister."
The three of them share a hug, as it has been a while since they meet. At the same time, Yuzu and Ryu are also happy to see Katrina again, but the others are confused.
Tatsuya says, "Who is she, and why are Big Brother Yuya and Big Sister Yuni hugging her?"
Ryu says, "That is Sakaki Katrina... Yuya and Yuni's blood-related sister. Who was missing when they are 7 years old and they have been trying to find her since."
Vivian is surprised, that means the girl is the sister that Yuya and Yuni have been telling her about. She says, "What? She is Katrina?"
As the three break the hug. Yuni says, "I am glad that you are back. And these are yours."
Yuni takes out a pendant and a deck of cards to her. "Your Fusion, Synchro and Pendulum monsters..."
Katrina takes the deck and wears the pendant, she smiles as she takes out her cards. Especially Vampire King, Queen, Prince, and Princess, and last is the Black Rose Dragon.
"Everyone, I am back..." Katrina says with a smile. The Queen's spirit form comes and says, "Master Katrina, look at you. You have grown so much."
Princess says, "Indeed. We really miss you, you too. Father."
The King nods and the card also changes into a Pendulum Monster, much to everyone's surprise.
Then Katrina also greets Yuzu, Ryu, and Shuzo. Shuzo says, "I can't believe you are back. If Yusho is here, too. He must be overjoyed."
"Yeah..." Yuni says. She also introduces Vivian to her, who also calls her sister. The greetings go well until Katrina sees Sora. She feels the urge to suck his blood but she restrains herself.
"Since this is a special reunion, how about we have a celebration?" Ron asks.
The children are happy, then Yuya asks if Yuzu wants to help get Ice cream. Even though she complains at first, with Ayu and Vivian by her side, she agrees to go.
Later, the girls are walking home with a bag of ice cream for the others, Yuzu mutters, "Geez, if they want to eat ice cream, they should go buy it themselves."
Vivian says, "But Sister Katrina is back, I can understand why Yuya and Yuni ask you to purchase them."
"Yeah. You're complaining, but you brought a lot. You're so nice, Big Sister Yuzu!" Ayu says.
Ruri says, "So Katrina really is their sister, Yuzu?"
"Yeah. So she really was in Heartland after all. I'm glad to see her as well..." Yuzu says.
Suddenly, Vivian senses something, and then she tells the two to be quiet.
"Sawatari is too fired up. He's willing to do whatever it takes to crush Sakaki Yuya. He's the type who would be cruel and attack Yuya's weak points." Ootomo says which causes the girls to gasp.
"Come on, let's go. He gets more self-centered when he's angry." Yamabe says as they start to run.
"Sawatari..." Yuzu says with slight anger as she chases after them, with Vivian and Ayu chasing after her.
When they arrive at warehouse No.52, they hide behind a wall. Ayu asks, "Big Sister Yuzu, I think we should go tell Yuya."
"In the previous duel, Yuya gave it his all to save me." Yuzu thinks. "It's my turn to protect Yuya..."
Vivian notices Yuzu's determination, and she turns to Ayu while bringing the bag to her. "Ayu, go back to school. Leave this to both of us and tell brother about this."
Ayu says, "But..." But Yuzu and Vivian have already rushed into the warehouse, much to the little girl's surprise. Meanwhile, Yuto is on the roof, he sees Yuzu running in and says, "Why are you here?"
In the warehouse, Sawatari is happily eating his pie. Just then, he hears Yuzu yell, "You coward!" And he begins choking.
Ootomo gives Sawatari a water bottle as he quickly drinks it, and then Vivian says, "We won't let you do whatever you want to defeat my brother!"
Sawatari coughs and says, "Hiiragi Yuzu and Kobayashi Vivian, why are you here?"
"We don't need to tell you, and I now go by the name Sakaki Vivian." Vivian says.
"By the way, you still have pie crumbs in your mouth." Yuzu points out, to his surprise, and of his friends hands him a napkin to clean his face with.
"Ha! So Sakaki Yuya has adopted you as your sister huh? No matter, both of you fell right into our hands-" Sawatari says, but is cut off by Yuzu, "Duel me!"
"You've leapt into the fire-" "I'm going to pummel you!"
"The goddess of victory smiles upon me-" "What's wrong? Are you afraid to lose to me?"
"Can you just let me finish!" Sawatari yells with annoyance.
"I don't need to listen to you! You coward! You loser! You second-rate duelist!" Yuzu continues.
"What did you say? A Second rate duelist?" Sawatari says in annoyance.
"No, you're less than that! Third-rate! Fourth-rate! Hundredth-rate duelist!"
"Woah, Yuzu calm down. You don't need to insult further." Vivian is surprised at her taunts. Yuzu turns to her and says, "But..."
Sawatari lowers his hand and says angrily, "How dare you to say that!"
Kakimoto shuts the door of the warehouse, and both girls turn, holding their Duel Disk.
"You still have time to take back those words." Sawatari says as he walks across to face her.
"I don't feel like doing that, you coward loser hundredth-rate duelist!" Yuzu says.
"You don't know your place! I'll make you regret that!" Sawatari says as he attaches his Duel Disk.
And then Kakimoto screams, much to the shock of all Duelists. He's thrown back from the open door as Yuto walks in. Yamabe and Ootomo run up behind Sawatari.
"Who are you?" Sawatari yells at him.
Yuto just stands beside Yuzu and says, "Stay back."
"What are you talking about? Who are you anyway?" Vivian says.
As Kakimoto joins his friends, Sawatari asks, "Are you a knight who suddenly arrives to rescue the two princesses?"
Yuto flings his cloak aside, activating a purple Duel Disk.
"That's a unique Duel Disk." Sawatari says while staring at the Duel Disk.
Vivian says, "That Duel Disk...it looks similar to Ron's Duel Disk..."
"Aren't you going to answer my questions?" Sawatari says.
"Hey, who are you? Don't interfere! This is my duel!" Yuzu says angrily as she tries to assert her place in the Duel.
Yuto stops her and says, "I don't want you to get hurt anymore."
"What?" Yuzu and Vivian are surprised.
"You're so cool. But that's enough, Mr. Knight. You're going to embarrass yourself." Sawatari says.
Yuto remains silent, as Sawatari says, "You're perfect for testing my new deck. I'll crush you."
After Sawatari activates his Duel Disk, they both yell, "Duel." (Sawatari:4000) (Yuto:4000)
"I'll go first." Yuto says.
"Fine, Mr. Knight." Sawatari says.
" I set five cards and end my turn." Yuto says and it shocks the onlookers.
"What?" Sawatari is shocked at first, but then he laughs, "You show up acting cool, but that's all you can do?"
"Sawatari san, finish him!" Yamabe says.
"You don't have a single monster? Too bad, but luck isn't on your side." Sawatari says.
"Didn't you hear me? I ended my turn." Yuto replies coldly.
Vivian says, "I am now curious how the duel will go..."
"Big Brother Yuya!" Ayu yells to him and rushes inside, only to fall and land on Katrina's arms.
"Be careful." Katrina says while holding the girl.
"Are you okay? Ayu, what's wrong?" Yuya asks.
"The ice cream is melted..." Futoshi looks into the bag, while Sora holds a melted popsicle. "What a waste..."
"Ayu, what happened? And where are Vivian and Yuzu?" Ryu asks.
"Big Sister Yuzu...Big Sister Vivian...They are in trouble!" Ayu says.
"What?" Everyone is confused, and much to their surprise, Yuya's Extra Deck glows and he takes out the card.
Yuya says, "My Dark Rebellion is glowing...what does that mean?"
"Dark Rebellion?" Ron, Jean, and Katrina flinch at the name, and then Yuya and Yuni look at each other before rushing out of the school, trying to find Yuzu and Vivian.
Back at the warehouse, Sawatari exclaims, " I'll show you my perfect dueling. My turn!"
He draws a card and says, "I'll take advantage of your set cards. When you have at least two cards in your Magic and Trap Zone, I can Special Summon this card from my hand! Come! Escher the Vassal of Ice!" (ATK:800/DEF:1000 LV:4)"
As the blue human-looking monster appears, Sawatari says, "Then I release Escher to Advance Summon! Come! Mobius the Ice Monarch!" (ATK:2400/DEF:1000 LV:6)
"All right! He already summoned a monster with 2400 ATK!" Kakimoto cheers.
"Mobius' effect activates! When it's successfully Advanced Summoned, I can select up to two Magic and Trap Cards on the field and destroy them! Freeze Burst!" Sawatari says as Mobius forms a sphere of ice in its hands, then tosses it at the Duelist's two face-down cards, destroying them.
"I'm only getting started! I activate the Magic Card: Advance Carnival from my hand! When I successfully Advance Summon, this card lets me Advance Summon again!" Sawatari says.
"He's going to release Mobius with 2400 ATK to Advance Summon again?" Vivian questions.
"Exactly. I release Mobius the Ice Monarch to Advance Summon! Come out! Möbius the Frigid Ice Monarch!" (ATK:2800/DEF:1000 LV:8)
His friends cheer, as Sawatari explains, "I would usually need to release two monsters. But if my monster was already Advance Summoned, then I can Advance Summon using only one monster! That's Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch! Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch's effect activates! When it's successfully Advance Summoned, I can select up to three Magic and Trap Cards on the field and destroy them!"
Mobius forms ice tornadoes in both fists. Kakimoto asks, "Hey, Mr. Knight! Maybe you should use those cards before they're destroyed!"
Sawatari says, "That's pointless. Since I released a Water Attribute monster to summon Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch, he can't activate cards that will destroy it. Freeze and break into pieces! Blizzard Destruction!"
Then a blizzard comes and all the cards are destroyed. Yuzu and Vivian also feel the coldness of the monster. "Yuzu, do you feel that?"
"Yeah, why did we feel the wind when there's no Action Field?" Yuzu says.
"All your set cards are destroyed, and you have no cards in your hand. And you have no monsters to defend with. You acted cool when you showed up, but you're pathetic." Sawatari grins.
"Pull it together! Maybe you shouldn't have interfered and let me handle it-" Yuzu says, but then she feels Ruri stops her.
"Yuzu. You don't need to worry about it, this is his plan all along." Ruri says with a smile.
"So you know this guy, Ruri? I guess he is also from Xyz Dimension like you?" Yuzu asks.
"Even though he is wearing a mask, there's no mistake! It's him! He's here!" Ruri says with a small blush.
"Mr. Knight dressed in black, you're an eyesore. So leave. Let's battle! Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch attacks you directly!" Sawatari says.
The spikes on his armor of Mobius begin to extend and a blizzard begins blowing. Yuzu and Vivian gasp in horror until Yuto says, "I activate the Magic Cards: The Phantom Knights of Shadow Veil from my graveyard."
"What?" "From the Graveyard?" "Magic Cards?"
"You're activating Magic Cards from the graveyard?" Sawatari asks.
"When you attack me directly...I can treat these cards as monsters and Special Summon as many copies as possible from the graveyard." (ATK:0/DEF:300 LV:4)
Vivian says, "Hey, that is like my style!"
Yuzu says, "Yeah, the style you defeat Sora and Ron..."
"Since an effect that Special Summoned these cards, they're banished if they're sent to the graveyard." Yuto adds.
"He instantly has three monsters on his field." Yamabe says.
"You set those cards because you were already planning to Special Summon them as monsters?" Yuzu asks.
Sawatari snorts, "You just summoned those monsters because you had nothing to defend with. I'll get rid of them. Go, Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch! Attack Shadow Veil! Imperial Charge!"
Mobius charges at one of the Shadow Veil, causing it to be destroyed. "When Shadow Veil is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, it's banished." Yuto says.
"You're barely surviving. I set one card and end my turn." Sawatari says. "I'll let you live until my next turn."
"Neo Sawatari is the best!" Kakimoto cheers.
"You won't have the next turn." Yuto says.
Sawatari is surprised, and Yuto says, "My turn!"
He draws a card and says, "I thought your dueling would put up some resistance, but there's no sharpness in your blade or power in your bullet. Not even a little bit."
Sawatari glares at him while his lackeys laugh at him. Yuto says, "I've achieved the requirements. When I have monsters with the same Level, my deck shows its true worth. With these two Level 4 Shadow Veils, I build the Overlay Network!"
Two Shadow Veils transform into purple swirls and disappear into a galaxy-like portal, causing a column of blue lightning to erupt from the portal.
Yuto chants "Formed from pitch-black darkness, to fight those foolish enough to oppose its treacherous fangs! Xyz Summon! Rank 4! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon!" (ATK:2500/DEF:2000 RNK:4 OVU:2)
"It is here!" Ruri says excitedly, much to Yuzu's confusion.
"Incredible. He summoned a monster from his Extra Deck." "He's an Xyz user?" "Is this for real? Xyz Summoning is a curriculum that only LDS' elite top class can take!"
Vivian rolls her eyes in the last comment, but she knows that Yuni was the one in charge of the Xyz Summoning class.
Sawatari claps and says, "I was slightly surprised when you suddenly Xyz Summoned. But are you planning to battle my Mobius with that monster? Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon has 2500 ATK. Mobius has 2800 ATK. Your Xyz Summon is nothing more than a buff."
"Who knows? An Xyz Monster's true power is to use its Overlay Units that represent its soul to destroy the opponent." Vivian says.
"I don't need a lecture about Xyz. I'm not interested." Sawatari says.
"Then you'll learn about it physically. I activate the effect of Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! By detaching an Overlay Unit, your Level 5 or above monster's ATK is halved until the end of the turn! Treason Discharge!"
The Dragon's wings unfold, and they shoot out purple lightning that binds Mobius, reducing it to 1400 ATK, while increasing the ATK of Dark Rebellion to 3900 ATK with Treason Discharge. (ATK:2800-1400)(ATK:2500-3900)
"Dark Rebellion's ATK is now greater than Mobius..." Yuzu gasps.
"This must be a joke!" Sawatari says in horror.
"I'm not done. I use the remaining Overlay Unit to activate Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon's effect! Treason Discharge!" Yuto detaches the last Overlay Unit to halve the ATK of Mobius again, this time to 700, while adding the lost ATK to Dark Rebellion, for a total of 4600. (ATK:1400-700)(ATK:3900-4600)
"No way!" Sawatari groans in horror.
"Battle! I attack Mobius the Frigid Ice Monarch with Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon! Go! Destroy the glacier with your fangs! Revolt of Lightning Disobey!"
As its wings spark, It crushes the glacier with its fangs, and it flies forwards with its tusks glowing. It stabs Mobius and it explodes, throwing Sawatari backward. Debris goes flying, and Yuto rushes forward to shield Yuzu and Vivian, a stone cracking the lens of one of his goggles. The hangar itself is damaged, as Sawatari rises unsteadily to his feet. (Sawatari:4000-100)
Kakimoto asks, "What's going on?"
Ootomo points out, "It's not an Action Field, but I felt an impact!"
Yamabe asks, "His monster's power blew us away? This is bad..."
Stepping, forward, Yuto tells Sawatari, " I'll only ask once and you will answer me properly."
He holds up the LDS badge, and asks, "This badge is from LDS, right? What's your connection to Academia?"
"Academia? What do you mean?" Sawatari turns around.
"Don't play dumb with me." Yuto yells.
"I'm serious! Anyone who enrolls in LDS has that badge! I don't know about Academia! That's the truth!" Sawatari stands up and says.
"Then I'm done with you." Yuto tries to turn and leave.
Sawatari says, "You fool! This duel isn't over yet! I activate my Trap Card: Ice Rage Shot! When your monster destroys my Aqua-Type monster in battle, this card destroys your monster, and you take damage equal to its ATK! Your Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is destroyed, and you take 4600 damage! I anticipated what you would do, so I set a trap card in advance. I win!"
"That is a lame strategy. A child's play." Yuto says.
"What is that?" Sawatari is furious.
"I activate the Continuous Magic: Phantom Death Spear from my graveyard. When your Trap Card activates, I banish this card from the graveyard to negate your trap card's activation and destroy it."
The spear appears from a Graveyard portal as the Duelist further explains, "And you take 100 damage!"
"Wait!" Sawatari tries to beg for mercy, Yuto says, "Feel the battlefield's sadness and pain!"
Sawatari is hurled against the wall and pinned to it by the spear - but it's only pierced his jacket before it disappears. (Sawatari:100-0)
Yuto removes his mask, and the flames from his previous attack, still smoldering on the floor, cast light on his face - he bears a striking resemblance to Yuya.
"Brother/Yuya!" Vivian and Yuzu exclaim.
"So it was you..." Sawatari says as he passes out. His friends flee with his unconscious body, Ootomo taking charge.
"Yuya? Why do you dress like that?" Yuzu asks in confusion.
Ruri says, "Yuzu, he's not Yuya. He is Yuto, let's say he and Yuya are like you and me."
"Yuto? And what do you mean by that?" Yuzu asks in confusion.
Just then, Yuzu's bracelet starts to shine brightly, and Vivian asks, "What's going on?"
When the light fades, Yuto is gone. Ray says, "The bracelet's defense system has been activated..."
"Where did he go?" Yuzu says in surprise.
"Yuzu! Vivian!" Yuya, Yuni, Katrina, Ron, and Jean come into the warehouse and Yuni says, "Are you two okay?"
"Brother, you are brother, right?" Vivian asks Yuya.
"Huh?" Yuya asks in confusion, but shakes his head and says, "Never mind that. Yuzu, have you seen someone using a monster that has the name Dark Rebellion?"
"Well...he was...I..." Yuzu mutters.
Ron asks, "By the way, why is here smelling like smoke?"
Vivian says, "I'll tell you later. Let's go back."
Then they leave the warehouse and head back to You Show.
So Yuto has his duel in this chapter. I didn't change it since I like it. The next chapter won't have any duels, so I am sorry.
