Chapter 11 You Show 'Em

Vivian walks back to the audience seat and she is tackled to the ground by the three children. Vivian says, "You guys..."

While they are cheering, Yuzu is still thinking about Yuto and his words back at the Warehouse, Vivian doesn't seem to be affected much, but Yuzu, on the other hand, is swaying. Ruri asks, "Yuzu, you're next, right? They're counting on you."

"Yeah. Just leave it to me." Yuzu says. "Our You Show Duel School is on the line. I must win!"

At the same time, Yuya turns to Masumi, a girl with a dark skin tone wearing a small blue shirt with her LID badge pinned on it over a cream one-piece long-sleeved shirt and shorts combination with black skin-tight shorts underneath ending above the knee, and blue boots. She carries her Duel Disk in a brown holster resembling that of a firearm. Yuya says, "Masumi, your next."

"Yes, Vice President." Masumi says as she walks toward the others, interrupting the others cheering for Vivian's victory. "I am Masumi Kotsu from the Fusion Course."

"Fusion…" Ron and Jean are narrowing their eyes.

"So she's a Fusion user." Sora says while eating his biscuit sticks.

"Who of you guys will be my opponent?" Masumi asks while arming her duel disk.

"Me." Yuzu steps forward and thinks, "To protect You Show Duel School and clear Yuya's name, I can't lose this duel. But..."

Vivian notices the fire in Yuzu's eyes and she wonders if Yuzu forgets that everything is set up by her siblings, but she decides not to say anything, and Masumi also gives a small smirk.

The duo adjourns to the Duel Field, and Shuzo muses, "Hm...The appropriate field for my lovely daughter is... This one! Action Field On! Field Magic: Crystal Corridor!"

A corridor full of gems and mirrored pillars, carpeted with a pink rug, materializes. Shuzo yells, "Yuzu, I chose the perfect field to reflect your sparkling cuteness! You'll shine here!"

"Dad...you're embarrassing me." Yuzu says with a small blush.

"He must really love you if he thinks that you're actually shining. But how foolish that he tries to choose the field I specialize in, it seems like your principal doesn't learn anything." Masumi says, causing Shuzo to flinch again.

"Dad! What are you doing?" Ryu yells as the kids aren't happy that Shuzo is making the same mistake.

"Your eyes are clouded." Masumi says.

"What do you mean?" Yuzu demands.

"My father is a jewel merchant. I've seen many jewels since I was a child. Real jewels that shine for real. That's why I know that you're not shining. It's proof that you're feeling perplexed."

Yuzu widens her eyes in shock as her mind goes back to Yuto, but she shakes off and thinks, "That is right. I can't hesitate anymore, this is for our friends and family! I can't lose!" He says, "Enough with your nonsense! I'll prove whether I'm feeling perplexed or not in this duel!"

Masumi gives a small smile after seeing how Yuzu is going to focus on the duel right now. After the dueling chant, both of them are ready to duel. (Masumi:4000)(Yuzu:4000)

Yuni turns to her brother without anyone noticing, she smirks, "So who do you think will win this duel? your student or your girlfriend?"

Yuya blushes and says, "How many times do I need to tell you? She isn't my girlfriend."

"Say that to yourself." Yuni giggles a little as she turns her attention back to the duel.

Yuya sighs, "I won't dare, since Yuzu has to go a long way if she can defeat her."

"I'll go first. I activate the Magic Card: Gem-Knight Fusion from my hand!" Masumi says. "This card lets me Fusion Summon using Gem-Knight monsters in my hand!"

"What?" Yuzu says in surprise.

"Fuse monsters that haven't been summoned yet..." Katrina mutters.

"She's using a Magic Card to fuse monsters in her hand." Sora adds. "This is called Hand Fusion."

"I'm fusing Gem-Knight Tourmaline and Gem-Knight Emerald from my hand! Gem tinged with lightning! Brilliant emerald of good fortune! In the whirlpool of light combine to bring forth a new dazzling radiance! Fusion Summon! Come forth, one who pursues victory! Gem-Knight Topaz!" (ATK:1800/DEF:1800 LV:6)

As the yellow knight appears, Ron, Jean, and Katrina flinched at the sight of Fusion, but the others are looking in awe. Yuzu says, "She used Fusion Summon on her first turn?"

Masumi says, "Even your non-shining eyes can see Hand Fusion's magnificence."

"However...The monster you Fusion Summoned only has 1800 ATK. I can defeat that monster." Yuzu says.

"Don't underestimate it. How you deal with this monster will determine your fate. These are the words I learn from my teacher and the Vice President. I set one card and end my turn." Masumi says.

"My turn!" As she draws the card, she then notices some of her cards are different, Yuzu sees the green parts of the cards and she knows that those are Pendulum Monsters, the ones that both Yuya and Yuni are able to use.

"How… my monsters..." Yuzu says in shock.

"Do you like my present? I made some of your cards into Pendulum Monsters." Ray says with a smile. "Zarine did teach me a few tricks when we were alone after all."

"Well, thank you for doing so…" Yuzu says. "I activate the Magic Card: 1st Movement Solo from my hand! When I have no monsters, I can Special Summon a Level 4-or-below Melodious monster from my hand! Now's your time! I Special Summon Aria the Melodious Diva!" (ATK:1200/DEF:1600 LV:4 PS:9)

As the monster appears, Yuzu yells, "When there's a Melodious Monster on the field, I can Special Summon this card from my hand. I Special Summon Sonata the Melodious Diva!"(ATK:1200/DEF:1000 LV:3 PS:2)

After the monster is summoned, Yuzu yells, "The concert begins! I release Aria and Sonata to Advance Summon!"

The two monsters rise into the heavens and then join hands, vanishing in a puff of green dust. "Enchanting melody that echoes through the heavens, awaken the sleeping virtuoso! Come forth, Level 8 Prodigy Mozart the Melodious Maestra!" (ATK:2600/DEF:2000 LV:8)

As the monster appears, the children cheer for the Advance Summon. "Level 8 monster!" "It's Big sister Yuzu's Ace Monster!"

Yuya and Yuni notice a glow in Yuzu's Extra Deck, and they raise their eyebrows because of it. Yuni asks, "Brother, did you see that?"

"Yeah, but why is her Extra Deck glowing?" Yuya says. But just as they looked at their cards, they realized something and Yuni says, "Don't tell me..."

Yuzu says, "I'm not finished! Once per turn, Mozart can Special Summon a Level 4-or-lower Melodious monster from my hand! Canon the Melodious Diva, take the stage!" Mozart fires a beam of green light from her hand as the monster appears. (ATK:1400/DEF:2000 LV:4)

"Battle! I attack Gem-Knight Topaz with Mozart! Graceful Wave!" Yuzu yells.

Mozart blasts its Graceful Wave at Topaz, destroying it, Masumi also braces for the impact as she takes damage. (Masumi:4000-3200)

"How was it? This is how I deal with your monster!" Yuzu says.

Masumi doesn't reply, instead, she still shows her smirk, as Yuzu says, "Canon, you're up next! Canon the Melodious Diva attacks you directly!"

The blast pushes Julia backward and she falls down on one knee. (Masumi:3200-1800)

"She did it!" Ayu yells.

"I'm getting Shivers!" Futoshi says.

Ryu says, "Nice, Yuzu!"

Masumi says, "It seems you have some skill, but don't think you've won."

"You just don't want to admit defeat!" Yuzu says, but Ray stops her and says, "She's right Yuzu. Hokuto is a good example and we shouldn't act just like what he did or else we would lose to our cockiness."

Yuzu looks at her hand. "I see... then I'll take a bet from this card."

Masumi can't see Ray, so she says, "You'll find out if that's true next turn."

Yuzu turns to Masumi. "Canon the Melodious Diva can change battle position once per turn. I switch Canon the Melodious Diva to defense position and end my turn." (ATK:1400-DEF:2000)

"My turn!" Masumi says as she draws a card. "I summon Gem-Knight Alexandrite from my hand!" (ATK:1800/DEF:1200 LV:4) "Gem-Knight Alexanderite's effect activates! By sending it to the graveyard, I can Special Summon one Gem-Knight from my deck! I Special Summon Gem-Knight Crystal!" (ATK:2450/DEF:1950 LV:7)

Jean says, "2450 ATK... That's still less than Mozart's ATK."

Ron says, "But we can't be sure what she will do."

Masumi says, "Now I'll show you what the Vice President taught me. I activate the trap card! Doublet Fusion! By banishing Fusion Material Monsters from my graveyard, I can Fusion Summon one Gem-Knight monster!

"Fusion Summon using monsters in the graveyard?" Vivian asks in surprise.

"I banish Gem-Knight Alexandrite, Tourmaline, and Emerald from my graveyard." Masumi says.

"She's fusing Alexandrite with Gem-Knight Topaz's two Fusion Material monsters. She seems to have some skill." Sora comments.

"Gem with facets of noon and night! Gem tinged with lightning! Brilliant emerald of good fortune! In the whirlpool of light combine to bring forth a new dazzling radiance! Fusion Summon! Appear now, one who illuminates all with its supreme radiance! Gem-Knight Master Diamond!" (ATK:2900/DEF:2500 LV:9)

As the mighty Gem-Knight plants its sword in the ground behind her, Yuni says, "She summons her ace monster, you have seen it in action before, right? Brother?"

Yuya says, "Of course, but Yuzu would be in trouble if she doesn't know how to counter it..."

"I'll use Gem-Knight Master Diamond's power to banish Gem-Knight Topaz from the graveyard." Masumi says.

"Banish? Why?" Yuzu asks in confusion, but Ray knows that this monster needs to be worried and she says, "Yuzu, don't let your guard down, she's planning something. We should find Action Cards." Yuzu nods as she starts to run, but Masumi just smirks.

"So you are now finding Action Cards... you must be very confident. Battle! First, Gem-Knight Crystal attacks Canon the Melodious Diva in Defense Position!"

Crystal fires a blast of crystals from its shoulders, destroying Canon.

"Now the real deal is here, Gem-Knight Master Diamond attacks Mozart!" Masumi yells.

Master Diamond charges as Mozart raises her wand. Yuzu thinks, "It's no good, at this rate..." Yuzu notices a card by her side and she tries to grab it. "It's all for nothing!"

Yuzu tries to grab the card, but her hand bounces off a pillar; she had been trying to grab a reflection. She was shocked. "No way..."

Master Diamond bisects Mozart, blasting Yuzu backward with a scream. (Yuzu:4000-3700)

"You were fooled by a fake image in the crystal. Your eyes must be very cloudy." Masumi says.

Ayu says, "Yuzu's Ace monster was destroyed!"

"But she only took 300 ATK." Futoshi says.

"Incorrect." Masumi says.

"What do you mean?" Yuzu asks.

"I activated Gem-Knight Master Diamond's effect before the battle. It can use the effects of a Level 7-or-lower Gem-Knight Fusion Monster that was banished from the graveyard this turn." Masumi says.

"That's why you banished Gem-Knight Topaz?" Yuzu gasps in shock.

"Exactly. Here's Topaz's first effect! You take damage equal to the original ATK of the monster that was destroyed in battle!" Master Diamond blasts a wave of light from its hand, throwing Yuzu backward. (Yuzu:3700-1100)

"Yuzu! Get fired up! Let your blood boil!" Shuzo yells.

"2600 damage..." Tatsuya says.

"Yuzu still has some LP left. She can survive." Gongenzaka says.

"I doubt it." Katrina says. "This is the end unless she puts up a miracle."

"Topaz's second effect! It can attack twice in one battle!" Masumi says.

"What?" Ryu gasps.

"That means Yuzu will be..." Gongenzaka mutters.

Then the kids are shocked, Yuni just shakes her head, "Looks like Yuzu still needs a lot to learn...is that so?"

Yuya says, "Yuzu is strong, I am sure she will get to her senses eventually."

"Gem-Knight Master Diamond attacks you directly!" Masumi yells. Yuzu follows the reflection and gets the Action Card. "I use Action Card, Damage Banish! I can negate battle damage!"

The sword of Master Diamond then misses Yuzu. Masumi says, "So you survived, I guess you're not going for the same mistake, huh?"

Yuzu smiles, "Of course not, I also have some surprises on my sleeves. I use my Trap Card! Duet Dance!"

As the card appears on the field, two fairies appear the field dancing, causing everyone to be surprised.

"What is going on?" Yaiba asks.

"I don't know." Hokuto replies as both boys are staring at it in awe.

Reiji is standing behind the wall with his hood on, he sees the fairies dancing and he becomes curious about what Yuzu and his sister are going to do in this situation.

"When I get over 2000 damage in one turn, I can place two Pendulum Monsters in my Extra Deck to the Pendulum Zone!" Yuzu says, causing everyone to widen their eyes.

"What?" Yuya and Yuni also yell with the others as they can't believe Yuzu would do that.

"The ones I choose are Scale 2 Sonata and Scale 9 Aria!" Yuzu says as two fairies appear on the field with a 2 and a 9 below.

Yuya asks, "Yuni, did you make Pendulum Cards for her?"

"I didn't." Yuni says in surprise. Zarine appears and says, "But I did, I showed Ray about it back in the Original Dimension, I also secretly told her how to make them."

"That should explain everything." Zarc says as he also appears beside Yuya, "And I think it is going to be very interesting."

Ryu says, "Yuzu has Pendulum Cards?"

Vivian says, "No way...I didn't know she has them as well..."

Shuzo says, "That is so great! This is getting Hot Blooded!"

Masumi says, "I am surprised, you did better than I thought. I end my turn."

Yuzu says, "Now it is my turn!" Yuzu draws and says, "Using the set scale! I can summon monsters from LV3 to 8! Sway with the rhythm! Flow in the melody! Gather together and form a perfect musical! Pendulum Summon! Come forth! The dragon that blooms around the music! Blooming Melody Pendulum Dragon!" (ATK:2500/DEF:2000 LV:7 PS:4)

Tatsuya says, "Did Big sister just Yuzu Pendulum Summon?"

"No way..." Ayu says.

Then Shuzo yells, "That is a great Pendulum Summon! Yuzu! This is getting on fire!"

Reiji sees it and he mutters, "So she could also do this method, just as expected..."

Masumi says, "So this is Pendulum Summon...quite impressive."

Yuzu says, "Now Battle! Blooming Melody Pendulum Dragon attacks Gem-Knight Master Diamond!"

"What? But its ATK is lower than Master Diamond." Masumi says in surprise.

"What is she planning?" Ryu says.

"At this moment, I activate Sonata the Melodious Diva's Pendulum Effect! Once per turn, I can reduce a monster's ATK to 0." Yuzu says. Hokuto says, "Oh no, Masumi is going to lose."

"No way..." Yaiba says.

"But the monster I'm choosing is Blooming Melody!" Yuzu declares with determination.

"What?" Everyone is surprised as Blooming Melody's ATK is now 0.

"Now I can activate Blooming Melody Pendulum Dragon's effect! When it battles a monster whose ATK is higher than this monster, I can change that target's ATK with this monster." Yuzu says.

"No way!" Masumi says. (ATK:2900-0)(ATK:0-2900)

"This is really the end! Reflection Roar!" Yuzu yells.

Blooming Melody's petals cover Master Diamond and then it explodes, Masumi also lands on its back due to the wave. (Masumi:1800-0)

As the field disappears, Jean says, "Yuzu won..."

"Yeah..." Ron says.

Then everyone starts to cheer for her. Shuzo yells, "Yuzu! You did it! You have done a great job!"

As Yuzu and Masumi leave the field, Yuzu hugs Yuya, causing him to blush. "I did it, Yuya. I can use Pendulum too."

Yuya smiles and says, "I know. I saw it."

Just then, Masumi walks toward the two and says, "You two are giving me quite a show."

Yuzu blushes bright red and shoves Yuya off her. Yuya hits the floor sharply, caught completely off-guard, and gets up rubbing his tailbone.

"Oww... why do you do that?" Yuya says.

"I am sorry..." Yuzu apologizes.

"Instead of apologizing, don't push me in the first place..." Yuya says.

"Excuse me, okay?" Yuzu turns her head, Ruri comes and giggles, "Seems like you two are a perfect match."

"Ruri..." Yuzu yells at her quietly.

Masumi turns to Yuya when everyone is congratulating Yuzu. "I am sorry that I lost, I couldn't win it for LDS even though I am your best student." She bows to him.

Yuya says, "It is fine, Yuzu is on the same level as us, you don't need to worry about it. But what we are going to worry about is that the LDS has two lost."

Yuni says with a glare, "And don't think you would be getting away with this, Hokuto." The said person freezes up and then retreats to the corner in shame.

Yaiba says, "You don't need to worry, I will definitely win this game for sure."

Himeka says, "We're counting on you, Yaiba Todo."

Yuya says, "Indeed. Unlike Fusion and Xyz, Synchro and Ritual are something that we are both good about, which means you have both of us as your teachers, so don't fail us."

Yaiba nods as he approaches the cheering group.

So I changed some of the cards into Pendulum Cards for Yuzu, the effect remains the same but I add some Pendulum effects.

As for Gongenzaka versus Yaiba's duel, I want to skip it by telling a summary since it will be like the anime. But the next chapter will be Reiji's duel, and his opponent isn't Yuya.

Aria the Melodious Diva:

Scale 9

Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, when my opponent doesn't get any battle damage, give the opponent 800 damage.

Sonata the Melodious Diva:

Scale 2

Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, target a monster on the field, that monster's ATK goes to zero.

Duet Dance:

Normal Trap Card

Effect: When the user gets over 2000 damage in one turn, summon two Pendulum Monsters from the extra deck to the Pendulum Zone.

Blooming Melody Pendulum Dragon:

Light Attribute, LV:7, SC:4, Dragon/Pendulum/Effect, ATK:2500/DEF:2000

Pendulum Effect: Once per turn, you can reduce the battle damage you take from an attack involving a Pendulum Monster you control to 0.

Monster Effect: When it battles a monster whose ATK is higher than this monster, change that target's ATK with this monster. It can also lower 500 ATK times the Pendulum Monsters in the Graveyard.
