I'm so blessed to have such Fantastic Followers! So a shout out to all those who have fallowed from the beginning of this story and a great welcome to those who have just started to fallow this story. It was the last Hogsmead weekend and of course the Marauders all ended up in Detention with Professor Slughorn after the girls played a prank on them. Dite secretly placed a firework in Dolton Crabb's potion. The girls knew that the Slytherin was one of the slowest brewers in the class and figured out that they could use his potion since it was a safe bet that the explosion wouldn't cause to much destruction to the class room. Once the explosion happened Lily then proceeded to tell James off for pulling such a dangerous prank with the potion they where brewing as a review.
Professor Slughorn wasn't to happy about it and gave James, Sirius, Remus and Peter a detention. Even when Peter and Remus tried to explain that they had no hand in the prank, Slughorn just huffed and said; "Where one or two Marauders go the others fallow". With those four in detention Alice managed to get Frank in detention with them as well, even though she never explained how she accomplished that. By the end of that fateful Friday, the girls even managed to get Regulus in detention as well.
That was a proud accomplishment for them, since Regulus seems to always get out of every situation. They all planned this so that the guys wouldn't see the dresses that they where purchasing for the celebration ball the night before their 7th year graduation. Lily was the first to suggest making the dresses a surprise to the guys. The more and more that they thought about it an discussed it while in their dorm the nights leading up to NEWTS testing.
"I still can not believed it worked out!" Alice laughed as the group walked along the path to Hogsmead.
"Me either! It's nice not having James hanging all over me for a few hours." Lily looped her arms through Alice's and Dite's.
"It still took us all day to get Regulus to land in Detention too." Dite sighed with a smile on her face.
As the girls walked along laughing and giggling, they never noticed that Avery was watching them. Avery was still upset that Black was all over the Prewett Princess. Avery couldn't figure out why Malfoy owled him to watch the girl closely. As far as Avery was concerned, the bird wasn't that interesting. But for some reason Malfoy thought she was. Soon after that letter came to him, His father brought him before the Dark Lord, whom seemed to ask about the girl too.
The Dark Lord asked if she has ever spaced out infront of him, or in classes. He explained that he noticed that she had a far out look at times but Avery says that its probably thinking about Black or something. At this the Dark Lord striked him across his face. So after that night he began to watch her even closer.
Avery had noticed how the Evens girl would look worried when Prewett would space out while walking, or how her familiar would appear out of no where in the library when someone that made her uneasy came near her. Even Pettigrew was wiry when the familiar was near.
"So you two found what you where looking for?" Avery caught Evens asking Prewett.
"Yes, and turned it over to the headmaster." Prewett whispered.
"That's good, any other dreams?" Evens sighed while looking at the other girl.
"Not as of late. But as always they come when I least expect it."
"That's unfortunate." Greengrass spoke as she grabbed the door handle to the dress shop.
'What had Prewett found? What dreams? I think this is something I can tell the Dark Lord.' Avery thought as he watched from the window of the shop as the three girls looked through the racks of dresses. This could be the information that they where asking him to find out. He will be a Death Eater like his father and his other housemates. He looked around to see if anyone had noticed him, and then disapperated to tell his father what he had learned.
After the girls had found their dresses, walked through the book shop, and had their butterbeer did they find their way walking through the halls of the castle. As the turned the corner to head to the Tower when a soap and bubble covered black dog came flying up the stairs with James, Remus, Peter, Regulus and Frank who where also covered in Bubbles right behind the dog. The girls also noticed that Professor Slughorn was trying to keep up with the boys who could take the stairs two by two vs. his older legs and the fact that the elder man enjoyed his sweets a bit to much. The girls waited till Slughorn got to them and asked what had happened.
"I left them to clean the cauldrons while I graded papers. After a few hours I started to hear barking so investigated. Found the boys had transfigured Black into a dogs who knocked over all the cauldrons." Slughorn spoke trying to catch his breath.
"Let me guess Professor, the moment they saw you they all took off?" Lily asked in exasperation.
"Your right Miss. Evens." Slughorn agreed.
"Don't worry sir, those boys will be sorry they ever ran from your detention." Lily spoke with annoyance.
Soon they found most of the boys in the common room of Gryffindor tower. This was the last place that the boys should have been with a furious Lily. Sure Lily was the one who caused the boys to land in detention, but she never thought they would cause a bubble fight in said detention. While Lily was distracted, Dite went up to their room to put their stuff away and to prepare for later that night.
As planned after taking the Horcrux to Dumbledore, she and Regulus had an easier time slipping away from the castle. Dumbledore was not happy that Dite had asked Regulus to help her with finding the artifacts, but she asked him to trust her and her sight. Dite had a hard time swallowing asking the senile old wizard to trust her. But she did.
Dumbledore had somehow found Basilisk venom after Dite explained that the Fates gave her the dream of how to destroy such artifacts. The night they brought the artifact to Dumbledore, the headmaster destroyed it.
Lord Voldimort's or Tom Riddle's soul retaliated and tried to get Regulus to save it, promising things that the soul thought would entice the wizard. It surprised them all that the soul fought back so much. That night they discussed the diary, the ring, and the Locket. Dite explained that the fates had given her clues to the locations of the artifacts. She remembered that in her past that Mr. Malfoy slipped the Diary to Ginny so the Diary was in the possession of the Malfoy family. The fates explained that the ring was somewhere that Muggles had perished at the end of Riddles wand. But the Locket was yet to be reveled to her. She hypothesized that the Locket hadn't been hidden yet.
So as Dite changed for later that night after getting word that Dumbledore had figured out the clue that was given to her.
'As thee finds the ring that hold a soul, watch for that could hurt the retriever.'
The voices of the fates came through her mind, which was new to her. She didn't think that she could hear them with out being in a trance or a dream. Maybe it's because they where getting closer to the end of the war. But they have far to go till the end of the war. She wanted to make sure that Harry grew up with both Lily and James; That Sirius and Remus had each other instead of being torn apart; Peter to continue to be on his friends side and never betray them. Most of all she wanted Regulus to survive the war and to continue as he is.
Later that night after Lily and Alice had fallen asleep she got out of bed and quietly moved to the window of the dorm. Right on time she saw Regulus maneuvering his broom towards the window. She gently opened the window after placing a silencing charm on the hinges, she looked at him.; Trying not to look down at the ground that was far below her.
"Di, you have this and I'll catch you." Regulus whispered.
She swallowed the saliva that had collected in her throat and jumped onto the broom. She held onto Regulus as they flew towards the Astronomy Tower to meet Dumbledore as they cant apperate on the grounds of Hogwarts.
"Well done Mr. Black for retrieving Miss. Prewett." Dumbledore drawled as they landed.
"Of course sir, I'm not like my reckless brother." Regulus glared slightly at the Headmaster.
"Sir. We should be careful tonight." Dite spoke after she gained her barring's.
"That is why I am accompanying you tonight Miss Prewett." He held out his hands to them.
"But sir. Something doesn't feel right to me." Dite spoke as she got the strangest feeling come across her mind causing her to have a chill run up her back.
"We need to get the ring so that we can finish this before more and more lives are lost."
Regulus gave her a nod, she could 100% trust him, but couldn't bring herself to completely trust the Headmaster. But she knew that Regulus wouldn't let anything happen to her. She felt a pull at the center of her abdomen and then they where standing at the end of a fogged drive way. The trees on each side of the road looked dark to her, almost like how the trees in the movie she watched in her past known as Snow White. The fog hung off the ground as if it was created to do so. Dite allowed her wand to slide down her sleeve into her grasp as the hair on the back of her neck stood on end. She could also see that Regulus had done the same as they walked closer to the home of Tom Riddle.
The Iron gates of the manor where covered in vines that wrapped them selves around them. It looked as though no one had been here in at least 10 years. Dumbledore casted the Finite Charm to see if there where any charms on the gate. She would think that with how paranoid that Riddle was in her past that he would be now. The more she lives in this time the more she realized that Riddle isn't as paranoid now as he will be once he comes back to life. That paranoia probably steamed from knowing that Harry was the one to destroy him.
As Dumbledore, Regulus and Dite approached the house, she noted that the house was in the dame condition as the gates to the property. The dark building had the vines and leaves crawling up the building. The windows had been covered by black curtains, bricks where out of place and some looked to have crumbled. This was where the next Horcrux was placed, where Tom Riddle believed that know one will find. But someone always finds out others secrets.
Mayakyla88; I'm so happy that you are loving this story as it unravels. I learned from a few of my first FanFics, that there are going to be those who don't like the story and those who enjoy them. So I try not to let the negatives get to me since I have such great followers like your self! Enjoy how the story continues to unravel.
