Volume II: Electro
Note: This will be the nineteenth chapter of Volume II, an electrician name Max Dillon becomes the new supervillain with the power of electricity called Electro, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider will have a hard time going up against this powerful villain as he becomes a major problem for them and the entire city, Dr. Connors returns to the story. This chapter will also bring Flash Thompson and Mary Jane closer as they discover that they both have much in common, this will develop into a relationship in the near future. Spider-Man will build another suit to be used against Electro and his powers.
It's March 20th, it's almost nighttime around New York City as rain is pouring down, at Empire State University, Peter and Gwen still continues their internship under Dr. Curtis Connors who is doing research on genetically engineered electric eels as they're swimming around in an large aquarium tank generating bioelectricity out of their very own cells, they both watched in amazement.
"Very impressive, Dr. Connors." Peter is amazed with Dr. Connors' work on electric eels.
"I'm glad that you're both pleased, eels are quite amazing creatures, capable of generating electricity out of their own cells, just imagine it, if we can modify their cells structure to make electricity more clean and easier to harness, we can provide alternative energy to the world." Dr. Connors explains his work on electric eels.
"I think that Tony Stark already beat you to it in that department with his arc reactor technology." Peter told of the arc reactor.
"At least this is way better than that fusion reactor that Dr. Octavius built one time, it did not do wonders for him. Talk about a science experiment gone wrong." Gwen remembers that incident of Doctor Octopus.
"Speak of that, how are you holding up, Doc?" Peter asking Dr. Connors.
"Meaning?" Dr. Connors is wondering.
"Meaning you, concerning the Lizard?" Peter asking about the Lizard.
Dr. Connors is shocked that both Peter and Gwen know about that science experiment gone wrong, it turned him into the Lizard, so far only his family, Spider-Man, and Ghost-Spider are the only ones who knows that secret.
"You know?" Dr. Connors is surprised.
"We've both know for sometime, we put the pieces together ourselves, don't worry, we haven't told anyone, you have our word." Gwen kept Dr. Connors' secret.
"Thank you." Dr. Connors is thankful to them for keeping the secret.
The lights in the lab room has shut off as the window ceiling is still getting pounded by raindrops.
Dr. Connors sighed. "Not again, this is the third one this day, I called in an electrician to fix the problem. Why don't you both head on home for the day, clearly we won't get any work done here with no power."
"Really? Thank you, Dr. Connors." Peter says to Dr. Connors.
"Yeah, thank you." Gwen says to Dr. Connors.
"Alright, see you both tomorrow." Dr. Connors waved them goodbye with his left hand.
Peter and Gwen are walking out of the lab as Dr. Connors stayed behind to call it a day. Meanwhile Peter and Gwen are walking out on campus as it's still raining outside all around the five boroughs.
"So now what?" Gwen asking Peter.
"There's a football game happening back in Midtown High, our team vs Standard High. Wanna go watch the game?" Peter suggested to Gwen.
"Why not? If we leave now, we might catch up in time to watch the second half." Gwen wants to go the game.
"Great, let's get going." Peter tells Gwen.
Peter and Gwen are leaving the campus together, meanwhile a van came up to the campus parking lot and parked itself, a man came out of the driver seat, his name is Max Dillon, an electrician with his tool box.
It's nighttime at Midtown High, still raining at the football fields as the home team with Flash, Kong, and Randy are facing off against Standard High, Liz and Sally are cheering for their home team along with the other cheerleaders, among the crowd watching the game Harry, Mary Jane, Betty and Glory are cheering along with others, Peter and Gwen came up to join them as Mary Jane and Harry spotted them heading their way.
"Pete, Gwen, glad that you could join us. I thought you both had that internship today?" Harry asking Peter and Gwen.
"We did, but Dr. Connors let us go so early, power glitch at the lab. So we thought we come here and see the second half of the game." Gwen says to Harry.
"So who's winning?" Peter asking about the game.
"We did for the first half, but now Standard High is turning things around almost matching us with 19 - 21, this next match will determine the game." Harry explained to about the game.
The game score has Midtown High at 21 with Standard High at 19, the entire football team is gathered around Coach Wilson to strategized the next play, Flash's family is down below watching and rooting for Flash to turn things around.
"Come on, son. Don't let everyone down!" Harrison Thompson yelled out to his son.
Flash heard his dad yelling out telling him not to lose the game, Flash ignored his dad's cheering as he focuses on listening to Coach Wilson explaining the play to the other players.
"Alright, this is it, we're already ahead of the other team, but if they managed to score a touchdown, then it's over for us. So this what we're going to do, Thompson, Robertson, since you're both faster, I need you both to make sure that the other team never makes a touchdown, if we do that, then we win the game. Everyone set?" Coach Wilson tells the football team.
"ONE, TWO, THREE, GO TIGERS!"
Everyone got back into the field ready to finish the final match of the game, the opposing team are forming up. All of Midtown High are cheering for their home team, including Peter and Gwen who made time to watch the game, despite that it's still raining and the fields are wet, the game still continues on. All the players are set as only 12 seconds are left on the clock, the opposing players are set to make their attempts at scoring a touchdown.
"Hike!"
The Standard High quarterback pulls back as some players got past the defenses and made it through the other side, the quarterback spotted one of the players running as he tossed the ball so hard before he got tackled. The Standard High player caught it and is running towards the goal, Flash and Randy are attempting to stop him before he gets there. Everyone from Midtown is cheering for Flash to stop him, including Peter and Gwen.
"Go, Flash, go!" Peter cheered for Flash.
Randy tackled the player running beside the one with the ball as Flash is still chasing after him trying to stop him as he is reaching the goal, Flash ran up closer and was about to tackle the player until another came in and tackled Flash out of the way, Flash failed to stop the guy as he made it for a touchdown, Standard High gained four points, brining their total to 23 points, the referee whistled as the game is over.
"And there you have it, Standard High wins with 23 points!"
Midtown is disappointed that they've lost the game, Randy extended his hand and helped Flash up on his feet, Flash looked at his father who looked more disappointed in him for failing to win. Mary Jane is watching from afar as she noticed something off about Flash, she can't help but seen that look on his face before.
(Later)
Peter and Gwen are walking out of the field with Mary Jane and Harry after the game had ended as rain keeps pouring down around them, they seemed a bit disappointed that their school varsity team lost the game.
"Man, I thought for sure that we'd win." Harry says to his friends.
"It was just a game, Harry. It's not the end of the world." Peter told Harry.
Mary Jane is still walking beside her friends as she noticed Flash and his dad having an unfriendly chat from afar, his dad looked very disappointed that his son failed the match, she seen this type of behavior before from her own experience, she can't help but worry for Flash. She broke off focus at the sound of lightning makes a loud crackle sound.
"Whoa! I heard that it was going to rain, but they didn't mention that there was going to be a thunderstorm." Harry got spooked by the lightning strike.
"Yeah, we should probably head on home for the night, yeah?" Gwen suggested to her friends.
"Yeah, you're probably right. It's too dangerous to be out in the open." Peter agrees with Gwen.
"Come on, I'll take you all home." Harry offers to drive them home.
"Thanks Harry." Peter says to Harry.
Harry unlock the door to his convertible as the sunroof is already in place, Harry got into the car as Peter and Gwen hopped into the backseat, Mary Jane looked back at Flash looking unhappy after his argument with his dad, Harry honked the horn getting her attention.
"MJ, are coming or not?!" Harry waiting in the driver seat.
Mary Jane got inside the car and rides shotgun as Harry drives the car out of the driveway to take his friends home safely due to the storm brewing up and more lightning light up the skies. Mary Jane is still thinking about Flash and what he's going through with his dad, they're relationship seems dysfunctional like hers were with her own dad.
Back at Empire State University, Dr. Connors is with the electrician Max Dillon as the whole power is off with no light, they resort to using lamps to brighten up the lab a bit, a thunderstorm made a loud sound which made Dr. Connors nervous.
"What's a matter? It's just thunder." Max Dillon isn't scared of thunder.
"I had no idea that there was going to be a thunderstorm." Dr. Connors tells Mac Dillon.
"So where's the transformer box?" Max Dillon asking Dr. Connors.
"It's up on top above the window ceiling, I'm sorry to call you in on such a bad night, we could reschedule fixing the transformer box another time." Dr. Connors tells Max Dillon.
"Nonsense, I'm here and I won't let a little thunder scare me. I came to do a job and that's exactly what I'm going to do." Max Dillon won't back away from his job.
Max Dillon picked up his tool box and head towards the ladder that leads up to the rooftop, he climbs up the ladder as Dr. Connors is worried that Max is taking a huge risk working outside with dangerous weather conditions. He opened up the hatch to the roof and sees that it's pouring down rainwater all around, he climbs his feet onto the roof and walked closer to the transformer box near the window ceiling.
"Okay Max, you can do it." Max Dillon is feeling nervous.
Max opens up the box and found the problem, some power cables are unhooked and disconnected, he grabs the power cables to plug them back into place to restore power, the lights in the lab turned back on as power is back, Dr. Connors looked up to see Max has successfully fixed the problem.
"Max, you did it!" Dr. Connors calling out to Max Dillon.
Max Dillon smiled as he got the job done without trouble, or so he thought, the lightning bolt came crashing down from the clouds and hits the transformer box and shocked Max still gripping the cables and yelled, he felt the surge of electricity coursing throughout his body as he fell off the rooftop and crashed the window ceiling, Dr. Connors is horrified as Max is falling down the aquarium tank and the whole tank is surging with electricity, the electric eels aren't affected much but they started to bite on Max Dillon's limbs as he's going though a change with so much power being charged into him. The glass is cracking up as water is leaking out, Dr. Connors backed away before the tank bursted wide open and electrified water came pouring out along with Max Dillon and the eels. The power around the lab is off again as the cable Max had lost power.
"Oh my god! Max!" Dr. Connors is horrified seeing Max Dillon unconscious.
Dr. Connors approached Max carefully through the water still electrified and came in closer to check his pulse, Max is still unconscious but alive, but Dr. Connors got zapped a bit upon contact with Max's ski. Max Dillon managed to survive from having a massive surge of electricity throughout his entire body, being shocked by the lightning bolt, the power cables, and the electrical eels. Dr. Connors acted quickly as he pulled out his phone and dialed emergency.
"911 emergency?"
"Hello, this is Dr. Curtis Connors! I have a man down, he's been struck down by lightning and he's unconscious, he needs an ambulance right, come to Empire State University labs immediately!" Dr. Connors calling the dispatcher for help.
"Stay put, paramedics are on their way."
"Hang in there, Max. Help is coming." Dr. Connors tells an unconscious Max Dillon.
Max Dillon still remains unconscious due to the shocks that his body suffered, but unknown to anyone his entire body is going through a change, he still has power inside his body and cells.
It's morning time in Queens, the skies are clearing up as all the rain has finally stopped, at the Watson Residence, Mary Jane is still sleeping in her bed as the alarm clock is ringing, she still sleeps through the sound as Ms. Lion is climbing up on top of the bed, he started licking Mary Jane's nose, she smiles and giggles from the dog licks.
"That's tickles." Mary Jane smiling as she waking up.
Ms. Lion barks smiling as Mary Jane is stretching her arms up in the air, she gets off the bed and stands up on her two feet, she then thinks about that moment yesterday when Flash Thompson was having an argument with his dad, something she can relate from personal experience. The bedroom door knocked, she snapped back to reality.
"Yeah!" Mary Jane asking who's outside her door.
"Mary Jane, are you up?!" Anna Watson asking from outside her bedroom door.
"Yeah, I'm already up, Aunt Anna!" Mary Jane told Anna Watson.
"Okay, just wanted you to know that breakfast is ready downstairs!" Anna Watson informed MJ about breakfast.
"Okay, I'll be down there soon!" Mary Jane told Anna Watson.
Anna Watson is walking away as Mary Jane is heading for the bathroom to prepare herself for school.
At the same time at Metro-General Hospital, Dr. Connors stayed there all night, he's still waiting in the waiting room with a phone up to his ear talking to his family about what happened last night at the lab.
"Sorry I didn't come home sooner, but something happened and I'm here at the hospital." Dr. Connors informs his family.
"What happened Curt? Are you alright?" Martha Connors is worried for her husband.
"Yeah, I'm fine, but the electrician Max Dillon was caught in a lightning strike and he fell down into the eel tank." Dr. Connors told Martha about Max.
"Oh my god, is he..." Martha Connors is shocked by hearing this news.
"Don't worry, he's not dead. Though I'm just waiting to hear back from the doctor, to hear about his condition." Dr. Connors tells his wife Martha.
Dr. Connors sees the doctor walking towards him.
"I gotta go, Martha. I'll be home as soon as possible, I love you." Dr. Connors tells his wife before he hangs up.
"Dr. Connors?"
"Yes, that's me. How is Mr. Dillon?" Dr. Connors is concerned for Max Dillon.
"He's survived, but he's still out cold, comatose. It's a miracle that he even survived."
"Ah, Doctor, just one more thing. He was bitten by the electric eels when the lightning strikes him. Could you give me a sample of blood cells for study?" Dr. Connors asking the hospital doctor.
"Sure, but for what exactly?"
"I just need to make sure that nothing unexpected happened to Mr. Dillon that could be permanent." Dr. Connors has his concerns about might've happened to Max Dillon.
Meanwhile in one of the rooms, Max Dillon is still unconscious from the accident that happened last night, the screens next to him are going haywire as electricity from the machines are being drained away and charging Max Dillon's new physiology, his fingers began to twitch a bit.
Back in Queens, Mary Jane just came out of her house and started walking alone around the neighborhood towards school, she made it to around the corner where she pasted by Flash's house. She then heard commotion as she hides her behind a tree to see Flash and his dad coming out of the house arguing.
"Why bother showing yourself at school, boy?! Everyone is pretty much disappointed that you lost that game!" Harrison Thompson is arguing with his son Flash.
"You said yourself, it's just a game. Get over it, pops!" Flash is talking back at his dad.
"Don't you dare talk back at me, boy!" Harrison Thompson felt offended by Flash's comment.
"You know what, why don't you go sober up and leave me to go to school. How does that sound?!" Flash said all he needed to say before he walks away.
Mary Jane is hidden behind the tree as she could see Flash upset over the argument with his father. Harrison went back into the house after his son left for school, he slammed the door shut hard in anger. Mary Jane confirmed her suspicions about Flash, he's suffering from emotional abuse from his father, just like she did in her youth.
Later at noon, back at the hospital, Max Dillon still has his eyes closed as more electricity is being drained from the machine that are hooked up to the hospital's power grid, his hands started to twitch some more. Meanwhile everyone inside the hospital, doctors, nurses, staff and patients all noticed the lights flicking off and on as something is wrong with the power around this place, suddenly all the power is gone with the lights off, some doctors noticed a flashy light coming from one of the rooms. They all rushed over to check on the patient Max Dillion to see that he's the cause of all this power disruption, his body is shaking and discharging electricity all around him. He suddenly opens his eyes and finally awakens from his short term coma, he got spooked by all the electricity all around him, he realized that he's causing it.
"What's happened to me?" Max Dillon is very confused by everything going on.
"Mr. Dillon, I need you to stay come."
"No, I need to get out of here right now!" Max Dillon has a strong desire to leave.
"Mr. Dillon, you need to calm down and let us run test. Restrain him."
A couple of hospital staff came up to Max Dillon still on the bed as they each took a side and grabbed his arms to restrain him down, Max started to panic as he discharged more electricity out of his body, he shocked them both with voltage as they let go and fell down unconscious, he gets him off the bed and stands up on his own two feet, Max Dillon realized that the lightning strike he survived changed him along with the electric eels that bit him, he became a being capable of generating electricity out of his own cells. Everyone in the hospital is frighten to go near him as he's too dangerous for them to stop.
(Outside)
Max finally made it to the hospital entrance as everyone is too scared and keeping his distance, he's all dressed in a hoodie and pants as he kept walking towards the streets. A car honked it horns as Max looked to his left to see a car speeding towards him, he uses his electrical powers to stop the car and levitates it above his heads, he then tossed it aside and it crashed against another car. Max is amazed by his new powers, he's become something much more than he used to be, he then hears sirens coming closer as he takes the opportunity to escape from the scene.
It's about 2:44 PM at Midtown Science High School, Raymond Warren is still teaching his class as everyone is listening, but Mary Jane is still with Peter and Gwen, she is having trouble paying attention as she looks at Flash, she can't help but worry for him ever since she spotted him having a argument with his abusive father, she could tell that Flash is feeling miserable being treated as a disappointment, she's been in Flash's shoes in her childhood when her father thought that she and her mother are the reason for his failures. She snapped back to reality as the school bell rang for dismissal.
"That'll be it for today, we'll continue this tomorrow." Raymond Warren tells his entire class.
Everyone grabbed their stuff and walked out of class, Peter and Gwen are walking together with Mary Jane and Harry, Flash walked past them as he doesn't want to talk to anyone concerning his issues with his father, they've noticed it.
"What was that all about?" Harry is worried.
"Maybe losing last night's game is getting to him, but he shouldn't take it personally. After all it's just a game." Peter says to Harry.
Mary Jane stayed silent as she knows full well that's not the case, she wants to check up on Flash and talk with him.
"I should get going, I'll see you both later, bye." Mary Jane is walking away from her friends.
Mary Jane is leaving her friends behind as she's trying to catch up to Flash Thompson leaving the school.
"We should get going too, we still have that internship with Dr. Connors after school." Gwen reminded Peter.
"We'll catch you later next time, Harry." Peter says to Harry.
"Sure thing, bye Pete, Gwen." Harry says goodbye to Peter and Gwen.
Peter and Gwen walked away from Harry as they're heading for Empire State University for their internship with Dr. Connors.
(Outside)
Mary Jane made outside of school grounds as she spotted Flash walking down the sidewalk towards home, she rushed over to his side.
"Flash!" Mary Jane calling out to Flash.
Flash stops and turns to see Mary Jane running towards him and is finally beside him.
"Mary Jane, what's up?" Flash is wondering what's on her mind.
"I just wanted to check up on you, see how you're holding up after that game." Mary Jane says to Flash.
"I'm fine, thanks for asking. Is that all?" Flash is wondering if there's more.
"Do you want to hang out at the Coffee Bean to talk?" Mary Jane asking Flash if he wants to go out with her.
"You know, I really should be getting home. Maybe another time." Flash deny going out with Mary Jane.
"Okay, I was wondering. I'll see you another time, Flash." Mary Jane walks away from Flash.
Flash watched as Mary Jane is walking home all alone, he just turned her down, but a part of him doesn't really want to go back home to face his dad due to the argument he had since yesterday.
"Mary Jane!" Flash calling out to Mary Jane.
Mary Jane stopped as she turns around and looks back at Flash.
"Actually, I might have time for some coffee, if you're interested?" Flash asking if the offer still stands.
"Sure." Mary Jane smiled at Flash.
Later at Empire State University, Dr. Connors is examining the blood sample of Max Dillon that he got from the hospital after that lightning accident. He looks at the microscope to see some abnormal changes to his cells, they're just like the electric eels he genetically modified with science. Max Dillon has evolved into something that is more than human, something dangerous.
"My god." Dr. Connors is shocked to see the changes.
Peter and Gwen just came into the lab to see the place is a mess, Dr. Connors is examining the microscope, he stopped as he turns to see his two interns here.
"Oh shoot, I forgot to call you both. There's not intern work for today, sorry for not calling ahead and wasting you time." Dr. Connors tells his interns.
"What happened here?" Peter asking about the mess in the lab.
"There was an accident last night, the electrician Max Dillon was caught in an lightning storm and got shocked very badly, he fell down into the eel tank and took three kinds of voltage into his body." Dr. Connors explained about the accident.
"My god, is he okay?" Gwen asking Dr. Connors.
"Yeah, he's alive, but comatose. It's a miracle he's alive, but that ain't all. You both should see this." Dr. Connors wants to show them something.
Dr. Connors brought up a projector and connected it to the advanced microscope, the projector shows off a live feed of Max Dillon's cells now mutated and generating bioelectricity.
"What exactly are we looking at?" Peter asking Dr. Connors.
"Max's cells are generating bioelectricity more than the average eels can produce, and more dangerous." Dr. Connors explained about the mutation.
"So in other words, he's kinda like what you use to be, a science accident." Gwen says to Dr. Connors.
"Precisely." Dr. Connors admits to them.
Dr. Connors' phone is ringing as he picked it up with his left hand and held it to his ear.
"Dr. Curtis Connors here?" Dr. Connors talking over the phone. "What? When?"
Peter and Gwen looked at Dr. Connors talking and looking troubled by what he's hearing.
Dr. Connors sighed. "Thank you for informing me."
Dr. Connors hangs up the phone and puts it away in his lab coat.
"What's wrong?" Peter asking Dr. Connors.
"That was Metro-General, Max Dillon bailed out of the hospital against doctor's advice. He caused some serious damage, they informed that he's displaying electrical powers." Dr. Connors informs them about Max Dillon's changes.
Peter and Gwen are shocked to hear that there's another superhuman on the loose with power of electricity.
"Peter, since you take photos of Spider-Man, could you inform him about this? Tell him that he needs to find Max Dillon before he hurts himself or anyone around him, please?" Dr. Connors asking Peter to deliver a message.
"Sure thing Doc, I'll make sure he gets your message." Peter agreed to help Dr. Connors.
"Thank you." Dr. Connors is grateful to Peter.
Peter and Gwen are leaving the lab since there's no internship work for the day, but their biggest concern is this guy Max Dillon who is now on the loose with powers of electricity. They need to find him before he becomes a major threat to the city and everyone in it.
At the same time, Max Dillon broke into a costume shop after his escape from the hospital, the place is closed and he's in the restroom checking himself to see that he lost his hair from the lightning surge, leaving him bald. The life that he had as Max Dillon, the normal life, it's gone.
"Why did this happen to me?" Max Dillon still processing his new changes.
Max then felt himself weak as his body is low on power from all the voltage he used up to escape, he hungers for more power to keep himself satisfied.
"Feeling weak, need more power." Max is craving more electrical power.
He found an electrical outlet nearby and reached his hand, he then started to siphon off the electricity and feeds himself power to sustain his new physiology, he finished the power drain as he's fully charged.
"That's more like it, but I still need more power." Max is still craving power.
Max gets out of the restroom and looks around the costume shop to see all sorts of costumes this place has to offer, he then gets an idea on what to do with his new life.
"Maybe its time that I embrace myself as something more, Max Dillon was weak and I need to become something else entirely, make a new name for myself. A name that will inspire terror in those who dare stand against me." Max Dillon is thinking about become someone else, someone dangerous.
Max looks around to see all the costume for the one he likes and fits his new persona, he stops walking around until he finally found something green with yellow lightning bolts.
"Mmm, that'll do." Max Dillon found a costume he likes.
He grabs the costume off the racket and started to dress him up in it, he became a supervillain.
It's almost sunset in New York, at Tribeca at the Coffee Bean, Mary Jane and Flash are hanging out and drinking coffee together. Flash is still confused as to why Mary Jane asked him out for coffee, but Mary Jane has a reason to want to talk to Flash.
Flash finished his coffee. "Thanks for asking me out, I needed this."
"Sure thing." Mary Jane tells Flash.
"Just out of curiosity, why did you ask me out? We hardly hang around together other than at school, why the sudden interest in me?" Flash is curious about her intentions.
Mary Jane finished her coffee. "Okay... the truth is, I'm worried about you."
"Worried? For me?" Flash is confused
"I saw you yesterday after the game, you and your dad were arguing in the parking lot." Mary Jane confessed what she knows.
"Oh that! It's just team spirit, just disappointed that our team lost, it's nothing." Flash tries to hide it.
"Flash, I even saw you arguing with him outside your house." Mary Jane told Flash what else she saw.
"Oh, so now you're spying on me?" Flash is surprised that she's spying.
"I was just walking to school past your home, it was just a coincidence. From what I saw, it looked like you two aren't on good terms." Mary Jane told Flash.
"Mary Jane, can you just let it go?" Flash doesn't want to talk about it.
"Flash, I can tell that you're going through something tough, something dysfunctional within your family, something you don't want to talk about." Mary Jane tells Flash.
"You know what, why don't you mind your own damn business?!" Flash felt his nervous was hit.
Mary Jane became silent after Flash's outburst for pushing him to talk about his problems, starts getting up on his feet and looked at Mary Jane.
"Don't bother running into me at school. Have a good day, Mary Jane." Flash told Mary Jane before he walks away all upset.
Mary Jane still remains in her seat as she watch Flash walking out of the Coffee Bean, she knew from his reaction that he's going through something dysfunctional that he refuses to talk about it with anyone. She's been in his shoes before when her father was verbally abusive to his family, she still feels the scares inside that her father inflicted upon her and her mother with his abusive behavior. Flash does his best to hide his emotional scars by acting cool, just like she did most of the time.
The sun is starting to set down as night time finally came, at the local power station in Manhattan, a lot of power station worker are working around the clock making sure that the whole city is supplied with so much electricity needed to keep the city lighting bright. Everyone then stopped their work as a man came bursting down the entrance wearing a green suit with lightning bolts along with a mask of yellow bolts, everyone got frighten by his appearance and him generating yellow electricity.
"Leave now!" Electro threatens the workers.
Electro discharges electricity all around the place scaring away the workers who would rather leave than to get zapped and fried. Electro smiles as everyone fears him and his awesome powers, they're all leaving the place. He then looked at all the power generators generating electricity for the entire city and beyond.
"Ah, so much power here, and it all now belongs to me." Electro smiled in pride.
Electro uses his powers to levitates himself above the ground as he hovers closer to the power generators, he then reaches his arms out using his power to connect himself to the power grid, he then began siphoning off all the electricity from the generators, draining the entire city of power.
(13th Precinct)
George and Yuri are working at the precinct along with the other officers booking in criminals and doing paperwork, the whole precinct lost all its power, everything went dark as everyone is confused by the sudden power loss.
"What just happened?" Yuri Watanabe asking about the power loss.
"I don't know." George Stacy is confused by the power loss.
(Coffee Bean)
Mary Jane is walking out of the Coffee Bean in Tribeca after failing to talk with Flash about his family problems, but she snapped out of it as she looked at all the power around the neighborhood sudden shut off. She got worried as did everyone else, she pulled out her phone and dialed Peter, but she's not getting any service as the cell towers are out of power too.
"What's going on here?" Mary Jane is getting worried.
(Daily Bugle)
Jameson is smoking his cigar in his office until all the lights in the building shut off without warning, he stopped and put out the cigar, he walked out of his office to see the whole place is out of power, everyone is using their phone flashlights to look around in the dark.
"Robbie, what the hell is going on?" Jameson asking Robbie about the power loss.
"I don't know Jonah, the phones aren't working either. This could be a city wide blackout." Robbie tells Jameson that it's a blackout.
(F.E.A.S.T.)
May along with the other staff are doing their working taking care of the homeless taking shelter for the night, but then all the lights in the shelter shut off suddenly and everyone started to worry by the sudden power loss.
"Everyone calm down! There's no need to panic!" May tries to calm everyone at the shelter.
The staff is turning on the flashlights from their phones, May is trying to dial her nephew Peter, but the there's no signals all around New York City. She began to worry that this could be a city wide blackout, and what could happen during a blackout.
(Time Square)
Everyone is hanging and walking around Time Square, until all the lights and the jumbo screen suddenly turns off and the whole square has gone dark without power, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are there right now on patrol as they landed on a rooftop looking down to see all the lights around the neighborhood are off without power.
"What's going on here?" Ghost-Spider is worried by the blackout.
"I don't know, but I might know where to look." Spider-Man is looking far out.
They see something happening far away at the power station near the bay, the place is lighting up with yellow lights.
"Let's go check it out." Spider-Man fires off a web line and swings away.
"Right behind you." Ghost-Spider fires off a web line and swings after him.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider swings through the city towards the power station as fast as they can.
Meanwhile at the Tribeca Subway Station, Flash along with many other are forced to leave due to the blackout as they see the entire city is without power, a lot of police officers are doing their best to keep order around the neighborhood as things could get ugly without power, Flash spotted an officer with a megaphone talking with everyone.
"Everyone, remain calm! This is a city wide blackout, there's no need to panic!"
Flash then hears a crash as a couple of cars collided against one another due to the traffic lights not being operational, some people got out of the cars and started to argue with one another as some officers are heading to keep things from getting out of hand. Flash has a biggest concern, Mary Jane is still in the city all alone and vulnerable.
"Mary Jane." Flash is getting worried for Mary Jane.
Flash breaks away from the crowd to head back to find Mary Jane to make sure that she's safe from harm, he runs arounds trying to find her despite a lot of people panicking due to the blackout, but that's not going to stop from finding Mary Jane.
Meanwhile outside the Manhattan Power Station, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider arrived at the entrance to see that the doors are bursted down and the insides are glowing yellow with electricity.
"Wonder what caused all this?" Spider-Man is worried about what could've done this.
"I'm guessing we're about to find out, let go." Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider headed inside the power station as they found a powerful individual siphoning off all the electricity to the city, he's the cause of the blackout. He a man wearing a green and yellow costume generating yellow electricity. From what they've heard of Dr. Connors concerning a guy who got zapped by lightning and mutated, they suspect that this is same guy called Max Dillon. Electro finished siphoning all the power and has become more stronger than ever before, he turns around still hovering in the air to see Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider here in the flesh.
"Greetings, heroes!" Electro says to the heroes.
"It's you, isn't it? You're Max Dillon!" Spider-Man calling out to Electro's name.
"Not anymore, Max Dillon is dead, now I've become something much more, a living being who can harness energy and bend it to my will. As of this moment, you shall all address me as Electro!" Max Dillon now goes by the name Electro.
Electro is now discharging more electricity out of his body showing off his new powers as he's become more powerful with so much electricity in his body.
"Listen to me, you've stolen all that power that the city needs to survive, you have to give it back before things get a lot worse!" Spider-Man tells Electro to return power to the city.
"I don't have to do anything, I can do whatever I want thanks to my awesome power. What can you both do against me?" Electro refused to listen to Spider-Man.
"There's only one way to find out." Spider-Man jumps up towards Electro.
Electro discharged electricity onto Spider-Man and zapped him back hard against the ground. Ghost-Spider rushed to his side to see Spider-Man injured from the shock.
"Spider-Man! Are you okay?!" Ghost-Spider helping Spider-Man up.
"Yeah, just a little cooked." Spider-Man is shaking off the pain.
Electro then hover closer to them as he's getting the best of Spider-Man with that single zap of electricity.
"Ha! You're both pathetic! Look how easily Spider-Man has fallen before me!" Electro smiles as he's taking pride in his power.
"You know, you could've done better with your new life, maybe become a face of a battery franchise, like the Energizer Bunny." Spider-Man makes a quip.
"Why lower myself to doing selfless things when I can be something much bigger, with all this power, I'll be like a god to everyone." Electro wants to be almighty.
"I already know a god, and you ain't him." Spider-Man referencing Thor, the God of Thunder.
"Okay, enough talk. Time to end this!" Electro threatens both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider.
Electro discharges more electricity as both Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider dodge his attacks, he still hovers in the air cover in a layer of electrical energy protecting himself, he continues to attack them as they're doing their best to avoid his shocks but having a hard time stopping him. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider managed to pull themselves back and clings on the wall keeping their distance from Electro.
"This isn't good, we can't get close enough to stop him with all power he's harnessing." Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
"I know, we'll get fried if we even touch him. We have to keep our distance." Spider-Man tells Ghost-Spider.
"So what do we do?" Ghost-Spider says to Spider-Man.
Electro hovers closer. " That's easy, just stay still and prepared to get shocked!"
Electro discharged a beam of electricity as they jumped off the wall and split up, Spider-Man got on the ground and webbed up a barrel, he pulls it and tossed it hard at Electro, but the supervillain discharged another bolt at the barrel, knocking it off course. Electro spotted Spider-Man on the ground, he unleashed a storm of bolts upon Spider-Man as he does his best to dodge them all without getting shocked. Ghost-Spider got behind and sees that Electro is distracted attacking Spider-Man with his powers, she webbed up another barrel and pulled it towards her, she then tossed it hard at Electro, the supervillain got hit very hard as he stopped his attacks on Spider-Man. Electro fell down on the ground but he quickly recovers himself and turns to see Ghost-Spider is the one who attacked him, he got very mad and fired a beam of high voltage electricity upon her, she got hit pretty hard and flew back to crash her back against a wall.
"Ghost-Spider!" Spider-Man yelled out in horror.
Spider-Man rushed towards her as fast as he can, ignoring Electro who gained the upper hand on Ghost-Spider. Spidey came up to her and see that she got shocked pretty hard and is unconscious, he went to check her pulse, she's still alive.
"Ghost-Spider? Ghost-Spider, wake up!" Spider-Man tries to wake Ghost-Spider up.
Ghost-Spider is still unconscious, but alive, he realized that Electro is too powerful for him to take on alone, he can't fight off against him and leave Ghost-Spider unprotected. He picked up Ghost-Spider and carried her over his shoulder, Electro managed to get himself back up above the ground hovering as he looked at the two heroes outmatched.
"What's the matter? Too much for you?" Electro says to the two heroes.
"This isn't over." Spider-Man assured Electro that this isn't finished.
Spider-Man swings on out of the power station with Ghost-Spider over his shoulders, Electro didn't bother to chase after them as he bested them both in battle, he stayed behind and watched them retreating as far away as they can.
Electro chuckles with pride. "That's right, run, little spiders."
Meanwhile Spider-Man is swinging far away from Electro with Ghost-Spider unconscious over his shoulder, the whole city is still without power as he made a choice to save Ghost-Spider and fight the next battle against Electro.
"Hang in there, Ghost-Spider." Spider-Man tells Ghost-Spider unconscious.
Ghost-Spider is still unconscious from the shock she suffered by Electro's power, Spider-Man is swinging her towards a safe place for her to recover.
Meanwhile in Tribeca, Mary Jane is alone around the streets as all of New York is suffering a blackout, a lot of people are panicking as some of them are causing chaos by throwing and smashing windows, a lot of police officers are doing their jobs to contain the riot. Mary Jane is getting lost from all the chaos happening around the neighborhood, she tries to best to get off the streets and away from everything. She ended up in an alleyway where she crossed path with three teen gangbangers, she stopped and got frightened.
"What's a matter, red? Got lost?"
"Yes actually, so I'll just turn around and go back the other way." Mary Jane is slowly walking backwards.
"Oh come on, it's dangerous being out there all alone. Let us keep you company, beautiful."
Mary Jane is surrounded as they have her trapped and cornered.
"Back away, you don't want to do this." Mary Jane is warning them.
"Oh, yes we do!"
One of them grabbed her arm hard as she's tries to shake him off.
"Let go of me!" Mary Jane elbows the guy's nose.
Mary Jane strikes one down and delivers a groin kick to the one in front of her, the last remaining one pushed her against the alley wall, grabbing both her wrists and pinning her down. The other two are recovering as one has a broken nose and another is still feeling the pain from that groin kick.
"That wasn't very nice! We're gonna have to teach you a lesson!"
Mary Jane is in trouble as she's pinned down, Flash came up to the alley and sees three gangbangers restraining Mary Jane.
"Hey!" Flash yelled out to the gangbangers.
Everyone turned to see a blond hair teen wearing a Midtown high jacket, Mary Jane is surprised to see Flash Thompson still around.
"Get away from her!" Flash demanded them to let her go.
"Learn to count, jerkward, there's only three of us!"
A couple of them came towards Flash as he charged at one very hard and tackled him against the wall, another came up behind him and wrapped his arm around Flash's neck. Flash is having trouble breathing but he then headbutts backwards and breaking the guy's broken nose again since Mary Jane already beat Flash to it. Flash got freed and strikes back with a right hook to the jaws, knocking the guy down unconscious. The guy tossed down Mary Jane as he focused on Flash who beaten up two of his buddies, Mary Jane finds an empty beer bottle on the ground.
"Now I only count one." Flash is facing off against the last gangbanger.
The gangbanger pulls out a butterfly knife, Flash stops as the guy has a weapon in his hand.
"With a knife. What the next move, tough guy? Huh?"
The guy got hit the in the pretty hard with a beer bottle and fell down unconscious as Mary Jane is the one who delivered that blow to the head, she saved Flash's life.
"Nice!" Flash is impressed by Mary Jane's action.
"Thanks, though I could've taken them down all by myself." Mary Jane is being tough.
"No doubt, I had to comeback to see if you're alright." Flash told Mary Jane he came back for her.
"You came back for me?" Mary Jane is surprised.
"I know that things between us got a little rocky, but I couldn't leave you all alone in a blackout. Things are chaotic around New York, so much people are causing so much damage, it's getting dangerous." Flash explain to Mary Jane.
"Thank you Flash, for coming for me." Mary Jane gave her gratitude to Flash.
"Sure thing… so now what? We can't just stay out on the streets, we need shelter. Got any ideas?" Flash says to Mary Jane.
"F.E.A.S.T. is about 12 minutes southeast towards Chinatown, if we can make our way there, we can get shelter." Mary Jane suggested they go to F.E.A.S.T..
"Okay, let's get going before these dickheads wake up for another round." Flash looked at the beaten up gangbangers moaning in pain.
"Yeah, let's go." Mary Jane agrees with Flash.
"Lead the way." Flash will follow Mary Jane.
Mary Jane and Flash left the alley leaving the gangbangers still on the ground, they're both heading towards F.E.A.S.T. for sanctuary.
At the Spider-Cave, Gwen is laying on the cot unconscious from her fight with Electro, the whole hideout is being powered by an arc reactor Tony installed last year, not as big as the one at Stark Tower but its enough to keep this place alive with power. Peter is tending towards Gwen, making sure that she's resting and recovering, George Stacy came into the lair to find Gwen unconscious on the cot, he rushed towards her.
"Gwennie?!" George Stacy checks up on his daughter resting.
"She's alive, don't worry." Peter told George Stacy.
"What happened? And I mean with everything?" George Stacy asking Peter about the situation.
"There's a new supervillain in town, he calls himself Electro, he's the source of this blackout, he's siphoned off all the power from the city and he's taken it for himself. It made him too powerful for us, Gwen took the full voltage." Peter explained about Electro.
"So what do you plan to do? This guy is out there with so much stolen power, he's causing so much damage to all of New York, the whole city is unhinged without power, hospitals are full of patients in need of power, the NYPD is stretching itself pretty thin containing the situation. By the way, how is it this place is getting juice while the rest of the city isn't?" George Stacy asking about the power in the Spider-Cave.
"This place isn't powered by the grid, it's got an arc reactor generating unlimited energy to this place." Peter then got an idea on how to help the city. "Wait a second, of course, the arc reactor, Stark Tower has a huge one underneath, if i can tap it into the power grid, it can generate enough power to the city."
"That could work, though there's still the biggest problem, Electro. If this guy hungers for more power, he'll head for Stark Tower to steal it, and the city will still be dying without power again." George Stacy explains that Electro is still a problem.
"I know, I have to stop him first before he strikes again. But it's not going to be easy, with the amount of power he now has, I won't be able to go near him. I'll have to think of another solution." Peter needs something new to fight Electro.
Peter then thought up of something he can use to protect himself against Electro's powers.
"Wait, I have an idea." Peter found a solution.
Peter walks over to the work station of the Spider-Cave, George is confused as to what Peter is up to.
"What are you doing?" George Stacy is curious as to Peter is doing.
"Making myself a new suit." Peter told George he's creating a new suit.
Peter began his work on the new suit to be used against Electro, something that will shield him from all the electricity Electro is producing.
Meanwhile at outside at F.E.A.S.T., Flash and Mary Jane looked to see that there are police officers guarding the place from any potential threats, they walked up inside to see the place is busy, even though there's no power yet, they're using chemlights to keep the place lit up with green lights, May is leading the staff tending to the homeless along with some innocent civilians taking refuge during the blackout. May spotted Mary Jane with Flash Thompson, she stopped doing her work and walked up towards them.
"Mary Jane, Flash, so glad that you're both alright." May is relived to see them both fine.
"Yeah, things are crazy outside. How are things here?" Mary Jane asking about the situation here.
"Without any power, we have to work without any electronics at this moment, we're doing our best to keep everyone calm. So what happened out there?" May asking Mary Jane.
Mary Jane and Flash stayed quiet as May asked them that question.
"Come on, I see that his knuckles are red, signs of a fight." May noticed the abrasions on Flash's knuckles.
"We ran into some trouble with some thugs, we got out it." Mary Jane told May that they're had some trouble.
May reached into the first aid and pulled out an instant cold pack, she tossed it towards Flash who caught it.
"Thanks." Flash says to May.
"Sure, you both stick around where it's safe. Hopefully power will be back soon." May is being prayerful.
"Knowing Spider-Man, he'll find a way to save us all." Flash has hope in his hero Spider-Man.
"He always does." Mary Jane knows that Spider-Man will come through.
At Stark Tower, at the lower levels of the building below, the Arc Reactor is offline as Spider-Man is there dressed up in his new Electro-Proof suit built to withstand Electro's electric powers, its black and red, made out of rubber. Spider-Man is going around setting up all the power cables to the city's power grid in hopes that it will transfer enough energy to the city to end the blackout. But the cables aren't plugged into the power grid yet as he still has one obstacle to overcome, Electro himself. He jumps over to the controls and began preparing to power up the arc reactor.
"Okay, light it up." Spider-Man turns on the arc reactor.
The Arc Reactor is on and generating power all around the building and is continuously producing more. Spider-Man knows that this will attract Electro who will crave more power, he won't be able to resist coming here.
(Outside)
Electro is flying around the city to see all of New York is still without power, until he stops and looked at Stark Tower up ahead, the whole place is lighting up with power all of a sudden. He still craves more power for himself as he can't resist turning away from it.
"Hmm, more power for me to take." Electro wants more power for himself.
(Inside)
Spider-Man is still inside the arc reactor room as he stands by and watches this fine machinery generating unlimited power to the whole tower, he hopes that it'll be enough for the whole city. He still waits as the arc reactor is still charging up with more power.
"It's working, now to connect it to the power grid." Spider-Man says to himself.
Spider-Man's senses tingles as danger is nearby, the ceiling of the room came bursting down as Electro blasted his way inside to see Spider-Man along with the arc reactor producing unlimited energy.
"Electro!" Spider-Man sees Electro hovering in the air.
"Spider-Man, we meet again, and I see that you've found me another source of power for me to feed on, thanks for that by the way." Electro says to Spider-Man.
"Forget it, Electro. All this power belongs to the city, a lot of people are suffering without power." Spider-Man says to Electro.
"That's not really my problem. The only one who needs all this power is me, and I'm here to take it for myself." Electro wants more power.
"Like hell you are!" Spider-Man is standing between Electro and the arc reactor.
"Oh Spider-Man, you never learn!" Electro say to Spider-Man.
Electro discharges a bolt of electricity upon Spider-Man who just stayed still and took in the hit, but thanks to his new Electro-Proof suit, all that power got negated and he was protected, leaving Electro all confused.
"Actually, I've learned enough." Spider-Man is unharmed.
"How?" Electro is very confused.
"Courtesy of my new suit, fighting Electro with rubber." Spider-Man explained his new suit's function.
Spider-Man then fires off a webline at Electro, he pulls him in as Spider-Man strikes back with a punch to the face, hurting Electro as he fell down on the ground. Spider-Man is finally managed to land a strike on Electro, but it's not over yet as the supervillain isn't down, he's getting himself back up and mad at Spider-Man.
"You got lucky, don't think that rubber suit will be enough to stop me. I still have enough juice to destroy you." Electro isn't backing down from the fight.
"Let's find out." Spider-Man fired a webbing at Electro's face.
Electro got blind by the webbing in his face, Spider-Man took the opportunity to escape through the big hole Electro created, the supervillain took off the webbing from his face and got very upset by that surprise attack.
"Yo! Electro, catch me if you can!" Spider-Man taunts Electro as he escapes.
Electro created an electric field around himself as he hover and flies after Spider-Man reaching outside of Stark Tower, Spider-Man needed to get Electro away from the arc reactor and get Electro to focus on himself. Spider-Man made it to the streets as Electro is levitating himself out of the hole and hovers in the air.
"So you want to fight me outside, no problem." Electro hovering in the air.
Electro unleashed a concentrated form of electricity as he fired upon Spider-Man who jumped up in the air and dodged the blast, he looked back to see the damage Electro's blast created on the ground.
"Oh oh, this is not good." Spider-Man is troubled by Electro's concentrated voltage.
"Believe me, its about to get worse for you, Spider-Man." Electro is impressed how much stronger his powers are.
Electro unleashed electricity upon the vehicles nearby and lifts them off the ground as Spider-Man is shocked to see that Electro can use his powers to move things. Electro tossed the wave of vehicles upon Spider-Man who jumped and evaded all the car thrown at him, he managed to make it through as he jumps up and delivers a superman punch on Electro's face, Electro then counters by creating a large field of electricity all around him, even Spider-Man took in some hits but the new suit dampens some of the damage but its still enough to hurt him, he fell down on the ground.
"I'm lucky my new suit is providing me some level of protection, but it's still not enough. Electro is still too powerful for me to handle alone, everytime I hit him, he recovers. I need to find a way to weaken him, take away some of his powers, but how?" Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
Electro unleashed a concentrated bolt upon Spider-Man who dodge his attack and destroyed the concrete, Spider-Man keeps on evading Electro's attack as he passed by a fire hydrant and thought up of something.
"Wait, water can be used as a conductor, if he touches it, it will drain him of his electrical powers and he'll be weaken for me to take him out. I gotta provoke him into attacking me so closer to the fire hydrant." Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
Spider-Man stopped his evasion and looked up at Electro and the fire hydrant, he needed to get him closer so that he gets wet by all the water to drain him of his powers, enough to weaken him.
"Hey Sparky, you're too slow with those lame bolts of yours! Thor can strike lightning better than you ever could!" Spider-Man is taunting Electro.
Electro got angry by Spider-Man's insults, he fired off a lightning bolt on Spider-Man who does some backflip, forcing Electro to hover in closer to attack him, Spider-Man is doing a great job in bringing Electro towards the fire hydrant, he jumps off the ground and got onto the hydrant as Electro is very close and has Spider-Man in his sights, Spider-Man stayed very still on the hydrant as he waits for Electro make his move.
"What's a matter? No more electric jokes?" Electro says to Spider-Man.
"They say that lightning never strikes twice, with your poor aim, it's pathetic!" Spider-Man taunts Electro some more.
"We'll see who's pathetic once I'm done with you! Goodbye, Spider-Man!" Electro got angry as he charges up his powers.
Spider-Man stayed pretty still as he wants Electro to attack him with all his power, Electro charged up his power and unleashed a huge blast of electrical energy upon Spider-Man who is waiting for it to get closer.
"NOW!" Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
Spider-Man jumps off the fire hydrant as Electro's blast destroyed it, then suddenly water started popping out of the ground as it fires up in the air and rains down around the area, Electro is caught up in the rain, his powers came into contact with all the water as all the electricity got conducted and discharges all the power out of his body.
"What?! What is happening?!" Electro is in trouble.
Spider-Man kept his distance as he watches all of the electricity leaving Electro's body due to all the water around him acting as a conductor, Electro can't stop himself from losing all his power. Spider-Man can see that the power discharge has suddenly stopped as Electro lost all of his electrical powers, he walked up closer as Electro sees him heading his way, he tries to unleash more electricity on Spider-Man, but he couldn't as he is drained of all the electricity.
"What's a matter? All out of juice? Too bad." Spider-Man clenched his fist.
Spider-Man delivers a strong right hook upon Electro's face, knocking him out unconscious as he falls on the ground. Spider-Man succeeded in defeating Electro, he webbed him up for good measure, but he's not done yet as there's still a city to save.
"Now for the city." Spider-Man tells himself.
Spider-Man heads back inside Stark Tower and down towards the arc reactor room where the arc reactor itself is full of power, he made it down on the ground as he picks up the power cable connected to the power grid, he just needs to plug it in with the arc reactor cable to transfer power to the city.
"Come on, let's pray that this works!" Spider-Man then connects the cables together.
All the power from the arc reactor is channelling through the power cable towards the city's power grid.
(Outside)
The entire city is dark without power, that is until the lights started to turn back on again as power has finally been restored, the blackout has finally ended. All of the New Yorkers on the ground are happy that power is finally back on.
(F.E.A.S.T.)
The homeless shelter is dark until the light in the entire building turned back on and all the electronics worked, May is happy that power is finally back on, as did Flash and Mary Jane who knew that Spider-Man had a hand in this.
"Finally, come on, everyone, back to work!" May tells the shelter staff.
"Looks like he did it." Flash is happy for Spider-Man.
"He saved the city again." Mary Jane knew Spider-Man would pull through.
(Roosevelt Island)
George Stacy is outside of the Spider-Cave looking at Manhattan as the lights has finally turned back on, the blackout has ended.
George Stacy smiled. "Spider-Man, you've done it."
Gwen is finally awake as she steps outside to see her dad looking at the city, she missed a lot during her recovery.
"Dad?" Gwen saying to her father.
"Gwennie, you're awake, and just in time. Peter did it, he saved the city." George Stacy tells his daughter.
Gwen looked at the city all brighten up again, she smiled as she knew that Peter had a hand in this, he saved the city from total darkness. Things are looking to get back to normal for all of New York with Electro defeated.
The next day at the Watson Residence, Mary Jane is at home with her pet dog Ms. Lion watching the news about the blackout that was caused by Electro who is now in custody thanks to her friend Spider-Man who saved the entire city from itself.
"The entire city is still recovering from the blackout due to the power loss caused by Max Dillon, the supervillain who goes by Electro, who siphoned off the entire power grid and is directly responsible for last night's chaos. Luckily, thanks to Spider-Man's intervention, Electro is in custody and the city has finally got enough power to keep it going, recovering from the blackout will take time, but there is hope for the people of New York City.
The doorbell rang as she grabs the remote and turns off the TV, she walked out of the room and went downstairs towards the front door, she opens it and sees Flash Thompson here on her doorsteps.
"Flash?" Mary Jane is surprised to see Flash again.
"Hey Mary Jane, how have you been?" Flash greeted Mary Jane.
"I've been better, thanks for asking." Mary Jane is alright given everything that's happened.
Flash's expression changes. "Listen... I wanted to apologize to you for the way I acted yesterday, I was a jerk. No, I was total jerk."
"Flash, it's okay, I understand. You're dealing with things you don't want to talk about, things you rather keep inside. Believe me, I know what that's like, growing up under the thumbs of an abusive father, it's never easy." Mary Jane can relate Flash's pain with hers.
"I'm sorry I was harsh on you, I was too harsh and you didn't deserve it." Flash apologizes to Mary Jane again.
"You're hurting, I get it, the scars you can't see can still hurt the most." Mary Jane tells Flash.
"Exactly, maybe I just use my status as a bully and a jock to hide the pain I'm feeling inside, it's like…" Flash was about to finish his sentence.
"Wearing a mask, hiding your pain with smiles on your face. I was wrong about you, I know that I called you a bully in the past, but now I realized that you're a good man struggling with a family problem." Mary Jane sees Flash differently than ever before.
"Maybe that's one of the reasons I picked on Parker so much, I guess in a way, I was jealous that he had a normal relationship with his uncle who was like a father to him, something I've never got to have." Flash told Mary Jane.
"I didn't get to have that either, but I had others who loved me and took great care of me, like my Aunt Anna. She's the reason I got to live a happy life I'm living right now. Listen, If you feel like you need to get something off your chest, I'm here for you." Mary Jane wants to show her support to Flash.
"Thanks, Mary Jane." Flash smiled at Mary Jane.
"You can call me MJ, all my friends do." Mary Jane is okay with Flash calling her MJ.
"Okay, MJ." Flash smiles at Mary Jane.
"By the way, thanks for saving my life the other night." Mary Jane thanked Flash.
"I just did what Spider-Man would've done, the right thing." Flash says to Mary Jane.
Mary Jane leaned in closer and gave him a kiss on the cheek, Flash blushed as she pulls back.
"See you another time?" Mary Jane says to Flash.
"Yeah, sure." Flash is still blushing.
"Okay then, goodbye." Mary Jane heads back into her house.
The door closes shut as Flash formed a new friendship with Mary Jane, he found someone who shares his pain and struggles. They've become more closer than ever before, Flash then walks away from the house as he felt a bit better talking with Mary Jane about his problems.
Meanwhile at Empire State University, Dr. Connors found the lab wrecked again due to last night's blackout, he sighed as he picks up a broom and started to clean up all by himself. Peter and Gwen came into the lab to find the place is a mess and Dr. Connors is cleaning all alone, he stops to see the two interns are here again.
"Oh, I didn't know that you both would come, given everything that has happened." Dr. Connors says to the interns.
"Yeah, neither did we. What happened here?" Gwen asking about the mess.
"Apparently, some of the students took advantage of the blackout and decided to party around, but thanks to the power restoration, that all stopped. Campus security already took them into custody for punishment. You both can leave for the day, there's no internship at this moment." Dr. Connors gave them another day off.
"No, if it's okay, we like to help you clean up this mess." Gwen volunteers to help Dr. Connors.
"Yeah, if it's alright with you." Peter want to help out too.
Dr. Connors smiled at their gestures of kindness. "Alright, grab a broom. We have work to do."
Peter and Gwen each picked up a broom and helped Dr. Connors clean up the lab. Peter is looking at Gwen who is feeling fine given the fight with Electro, she looked back at Peter watching her, she smiles and winks her eye at him. Things are looking to get back to normal for them as they face any challenges together.
