The eeriness of the dark path of the Chamber of Secrets sent chills up her spine. Even when the lanterns lit to life with a green fire, that caused the path to light up in an onuses glow. Dite could feel the emotion of anticipation coming from the diary, as if it was waiting for something to happen. As she looked around, glancing at the walls she could see a few doors as they walked down to the main chamber that house the snake. It was cool and damp in the chamber, more then likely due to being hidden partly due to the home of the chamber. Water was dripping through the stone work on the walls from the pressure of the Black Lake against the ceiling of the chamber. There was slimy mildew on the walls what caused Lily to shriek when she placed her hand on the wall. The floor had a slight slippery feeling to it as they walked, Dite wasn't sure if it was due to the snake or the water. Possibly a combination of the two, which wouldn't surprise her at all.
Sirius had made it so that the roosters could pass through any wall or door to reach their destination. A spell curtesy to family Black, which he pointed out he didn't like the lesson he learned from using it a few times while at school. Meaning he had the opportunity to walk through rooms at moments that he wished he hadn't. The closer they grew to the main chamber the louder the voice in her head got, meaning that she may lose time this time instead of being stunned.
Dite wasn't happy that they would have to visit the Headmaster once they destroyed all the objects they had gathered. But that was the only way they could gain permission to enter the chamber from the Headmaster. Dite knew that the old man was probably interested in the Resurrection Stone that laid in the ring that Remus was carrying at the moment. She knew it wasn't because the artifacts were historical objects aside from the diary. Dumbledore just wanted the stone as he already held the Elder Wand. In this time she found that Dumbledore was looking for the Hallows as he possibly did in her past. She knew that in the past Dumbledore kept the Cloak of invisibility until the Christmas of Harry's first year at Hogwarts.
And form what she learned of the Potter family and how James was so protective of the item, it was intentional that Dumbledore kept it. Even the Sirius of her time was peeved when he found out during the summer they spent with him in Grimwald place. She remember that he muttered about how the old man knew that he wasn't supposed to keep it. She was always reminded that the Sirius she knew then and this one was the same person but different. From all the teasing he does to James and Lily to how he sneers at Severus.
Speaking of Severus, he asked her to collect a few vials of Basilisk venom for him as he wouldn't be joining them on this little trip as he put it. He would be home waiting and seeing if the Dark Lord would notice when the items were destroyed or not. She made him promise to not go to him if he called because of the destruction of his souls vesiels. It was hard until Lily spoke up saying that she didn't want him to be killed because he chose the second path that Dite gave him. He promised to apparated directly to Greece once he felt the summons, placing him as far from the Dark Lord as he could. It would be complete betrayal to the Dark Lord, but the man had started to kill off magical families recently that did not Aline with his thoughs and agenda. Severus had also been helping them rescue the children that were given to the werewolves to gain their loyalty. So the Dark Lord already knew someone was undermining his power as the wolves were not agreeing to being his lap dogs as Severus put it. They were unfortunately unable to prevent the first child to be saved from being a werewolf, They didn't get to the child intime. So Dite was planning to adopt the child after the war was completely over since he clung to Regulus the first night they had him, as if their wolves sensed each other.
"Dite, we need you to open this door here." Regulus spoke, pulling her from her thoughts.
Stepping forward, she closed her eyes and let the diary do the work it needed to do. It still amazed her how little power the diary needed to speak through her. But she could feel the draining effects that it caused. She remembered that Ginny was nearly drained of magic when Harry found her. Horcruxes' drained the magical core of the closest person to them. Which is why they only carried one with them. She was against any of them carrying one until James pointed out that she didn't need to carry the weight of her past and their future on her shoulders. This caused her to stop and stair at him wide eyed. James explained that he followed her once their 7th year to the room of requirement and found an interesting shelf of books. This made everyone except Regulus ask questions she wasn't ready to answer in fear that the Dark Lord would find out. She promised that once the war was over she would tell them all. Which she wasn't looking forward to at the lest bit.
"Well that was effective, wasn't it lov." Sirius laughed as he walked up to the dead basilisk.
"It's Hudge!" Peter exclaimed.
"Why would anyone hide something this big in a school?" Lily asked in angry wonder.
Once the chamber was opened, it didn't take long for the group to set to work. Transfiguring objects into small pedestal tables to place each Horcrux on. Dite had no idea what will happen once they douse the Horcruxes in the venom, but she was expecting a fight. Which was why she had charmed each cloak with an impervious charm and protective charm to keep them safe. Her gut was telling her that a fight was expected from how the diary had acted thus far. The diary still was trying to undermine her plan they had emplace her. The voice, black outs, and lose of time have all been to undermine her and her abilities. The magic had caused some disconect between the fates and her in her dreams.
"I have a vial for each of us as well as a fang. Also at least 20 vials for Severus, which probably is a bit much." Regulus said as he stepped up to stand next to Dite.
"Again why do we care about Snivillous's wants?" Sirius asked annoyance laced in his voice.
"It's Severus, Sirius. And because with out his help we wouldn't be here at this moment doing what we are doing." Lily said smacking the guy in the back of his head.
Peter, James and Remus chuckled at Sirius and Lily. James had come to except that Snape would be apart of his life as the guy and Lily had been friends since they were children and forgave each other. Dite knew that James wasn't happy about it but he could live with it. It was all because Dite changed Severus's path and gave him one that would lead to being friends with Lily even if it meant getting along with James. Peter and Remus agreed to get along so they wouldn't have to face Lily's wrath of being smacked up side the head anytime she was in reach or hexed when she wasn't. Sirius refused to stop teasing the guy with that horrible childish nickname they gave him first year.
Dite watched as each of them walked up to their item and dripped the venom onto the Horcrux. Each one a massive amount of black smoke accumulated around them and the item. Like a defense mechanism for the Horcrux. The smoke created a bubble of sorts, that only the one intending to hurt the item could hear. She wanted to know what was said to make Lily so pale by the time her horcrux was destroyed. It was daunting to not know things, especially when they hurt those you love. By the time it was her time, she had to open Regulus's locket and that was when she heard what Voldemort said to him. Everything the soul spoke were lies. But she knew that her's would speak the truth to her.
Stepping up to the Diary that she had been writing in to gain the ability to speak paursetoung was frightening. It knew things about her that most didn't know. She spoke of how much she loved her friends in both times. How she was ready for this fight, but now the diary would turn that on her to not be destroyed.
"Your a mudblood little one. You are only hear because your selfish. Wanting to save everyone when you just want to save your self. Disgusting." The Diary whispered to her as smoke billowed out of the pages.
"No, Its not true." She spoke Shackley back.
"Oh yes it is. Harry would never forgive you when you finally meet him again. You wont be loved at all by them."
"I'm fine wit that as long as he grows up differently." She said more confidently as she emptied the vail of venom over the opened diary.
The last thing the group hear was a collective scream from all the horcrux's before they all sighed in relief. This task was done, now just time to get rid of the only threat left to the Wizarding world, Lord Voldemort. As the reached the stair to take them back to the abandoned girls bathroom, a Raven patroness appeared before them.
"He Knows!"
