Volume II: Mister Negative Part I
Note: This will be the twenty-second chapter of Volume II, this will feature Mister Negative full first appearance as he plays the main antagonist of Volume II, he is the leader of the Inner Demons as he make a play for controlling all of New York City, this will put him into conflicts with Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider as they learn the true identity of this mysterious villain. Cloak and Dagger will play a major role in fighting against Mister Negative as they continue to investigate his origins in Hong Kong. Flash's father is on a path of redemption as he attempts to repair the damage he's done to his family, J Jonah Jameson still criticized Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider, marking them as menaces to the city. This story will introduce Lei Ling as a Hong Kong PD inspector as she plays a supporting character.
Tonight is May 15th, 7:45 PM in China, about 12 hours ahead of New York Timezone, in the city of Hong Kong, a tong calling themselves the Inner Demons are working at the docks transporting product to the United States by boat, the Inner Demon enforcers are wearing black and white demon masks armed with cutting edge weapons such as electro swords and nunchucks as wells as automatic weapons. Unknown to anyone, a couple of figures are hiding nearby on a rooftop overlooking the Inner Demons, they're Cloak and Dagger both dressed in newly improved suits, Dagger has a white crescent shape tattoo around her right eye.
"There they are, the Inner Demons. But still no sign of Mister Negative himself, I thought he'd be here with the lead we got." Cloak told Dagger.
"We've been chasing this guy for the past 7 months and all we've gotten is only rumors and leads, there's no guarantees that he'll be here, but this is definitely is a Mister Negative Operation." Dagger told Cloak.
"So let's get going and disrupt the business, maybe that'll tick off the main man himself." Cloak suggested to Dagger.
"You're just eager to take down some bad guys, aren't you?" Dagger told Cloak.
"Hell yeah!" Cloak smiled with excitement.
"Fine… let's go." Dagger agrees to action.
Cloak uses his powers and engulfed himself and Dagger into darkness as they've disappeared into thin air. The dock workers working for the Inner Demons are loading up the boxes full of drugs onto the freighter, some enforcers are patrolling around guarding the place. Cloak appeared and took one of the Demons into darkness as the other guy turns around to find the guy is suddenly gone, he walked back to investigate the man's disappearance only to find the guy's gun on the ground. He picked it up and still no sign of the other guy.
"Where did you…"
Cloak appears behind him and took him by surprises as he tries to scream but got silenced as he was pulled into darkness. The Inner Demons at the docks are watching the workers carrying the boxes onto the freighter. Cloak then shows up in the air as the Inner Demons got spooked and aimed their guns up in the air, lightforce daggers came out of the darkness and strikes at the guns with great accuracy and sliced them up, making them useless. Dagger came out of the darkness and landed on the ground in front of the Inner Demons as they pulled out their swords and nunchucks, Dagger formed light swords in her hands to be used as melee weapons. Dagger charges in as a couple of Demons with swords fought her, she blocks each of their swings. Cloak is fighting the ones with the nunchucks as they're swings them at Cloak who is using his powers to phase through the nunchucks swings, the Demons are having a hard time hitting him in his state. They pretty much stopped as their weapons don't work on him, Cloak then engulfed them in darkness. Dagger is doing a great job as she used her light swords to slice off the their swords easily. Her swords dispersed as she formed a light ball with her own two hands, a bright shining light blinded them both, Cloak and Dagger took the opportunity to punched them both out cold.
"That should be all of them." Dagger told Cloak.
Cloak and Dagger looked at the last remaining Inner Demon still conscious as they have questions to ask him.
"Let's question him, shall we?" Dagger told Cloak.
"After you." Cloak told Dagger.
"Where's Mister Negative?" Dagger interrogate the Demon.
"I don't know what you're saying?" The Demon is speaking in Cantonese.
Cloak and Dagger can see that the thug only speaks Cantonese, fortunately Dagger took the time to learn Cantonese during their time in China.
"Where's Mister Negative?" Dagger speaking in Cantonese.
The Inner Demon thug remained quiet as he refused to talk, Dagger then summoned a lightforce dagger and held it towards his neck hoping to scare him a bit. The guy still remains quiet, Dagger then lower the blade down to his groin making him nervous as to what she's going to do if he stays quiet.
"New York! He's in New York! That's all I know, I swear!"
Cloak and Dagger then hears sirens as Hong Kong PD is heading their way.
"Time to go, Dagger." Cloak told Dagger.
Cloak took Dagger as they've both disappeared into the darkness. Hong Kong PD arrived at the docks to find members of the Inner Demons all defeated and the dock workers spooked as the police rounded up everyone for interrogation and seized all the drugs at the scene, they're still confused as to who or what intervened. Cloak and Dagger appeared on a rooftop far away from the docks as they watched from afar of all their handiwork in taking down the Inner Demons.
"Now that we know that Mister Negative is in New York, shall we head back home?" Cloak asking Dagger.
"No, not yet. We still need to learn the identity of Mister Negative himself, and Hong Kong is where we'll find the answers." Dagger told Cloak.
"Where do we start?" Cloak asking Dagger.
Cloak and Dagger still remained behind in Hong Kong as they're now on a quest to learn the true identity of Mister Negative and stop him once they do.
Later back in New York where its daytime, at the 13th precinct, George Stacy and Yuri Watanabe along with some detectives from the NYPD and HKPD are all part of a US-Chinese Organized Crime Task Force, in a isolated room where only authorized are allowed entrance, on the wall are suspects along with criminals connected to the Inner Demons, at the top of the wall is the question mark where Mister Negative's identity still remains unknown. Inspector Lei Ling is on the phone talking to back home for an update on the case.
"Okay, thank you." Lei Ling speaks in Cantonese.
"What's going on?" George Stacy is curious.
"Hong Kong has arrested members of the Inner Demons back home, but no sign of Mister Negative himself. According to detectives who interrogated them, they were attacked by two foreign teens wearing costume with special powers, one has powers of light and the other of darkness. They've crippled an Inner Demon drug smuggling operation and HKPD has seized the millions in illegal product." Lei Ling gave them the update on the case.
George and Yuri are surprised to hear about two teen vigilantes in Hong Kong fighting the Inner Demons, from what Inspector Ling told them, it sounds like Cloak and Dagger who teamed up with Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider months ago.
"Any leads on Mister Negative's whereabouts?" Yuri Watanabe asking Lei Ling.
"Detectives who called me has just learned the Mister Negative is here in New York. But we still don't know who he is or what he looks like, this guy is a ghost." Lei Ling informs them.
"So basically we're looking for a needle in a haystack here." Yuri Watanabe told Lei Ling.
"Correct, we got nothing to go on here. The Inner Demons expansion here in New York has grown in the past two months, they've unified the local chinese gangs into their ranks. I've seen what these guys are capable of back home, they're not the type to go down so easy, even for cops." Lei Ling told them about the Inner Demons.
"Well... there maybe a way to fight these guys on, but you're not going to like it, Inspector Ling." George Stacy has a suggestion.
Lei Ling sighed. "Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider. Do you trust these guys?"
"They've done a lot of good work for this city, Spider-Man even took down the Kingpin last year. If anyone can find something on the Inner Demons, it's them." George Stacy vouches for the heroes.
"Alright, make the arraignments. Bring them here, I'll debrief them on the situation." Lei Ling accepts their help.
Back at F.E.A.S.T., May handing out wheatcakes and eggs to the homeless all in line hungry for breakfast, Martin Li came in to the shelter to see the place is doing great in his absence. May spotted Martin Li here who just returned from his trip in Hong Kong, she stopped doing her work and walked over to Martin Li who is happy to see her and all her effort in keeping this place going.
"Martin Li, you're back.' May told Martin Li.
"Yes, I just landed about a couple hours ago. I see that you've been busy here." Martin Li told May.
"After what happened couple months ago, everyone here is working very hard to forget that incident with the White Dragon. Though I can't say the same for what goes on around Chinatown, some of the homeless told me about guy in masks causing trouble." May explained about what's happening around here.
"Oh... I see." Martin Li told May.
May could see that Martin Li looked uneasy.
"Are you alright, Mr. Li?" May asking Martin Li.
"Yeah, just tired out. Had a long flight getting here from Hong Kong." Martin Li told May.
"Why don't you rest up a bit, I can handle things here." May told Martin Li.
"Thank you, I'll be in my office." Martin Li told May.
Martin Li walked away from everyone as he enters his office and makes it to his private restroom, he opens up the sink and poured water onto his hands and washed his face. He then turns it off and looks himself in the mirror all troubled.
"What have you done?" Martin Li talking to himself.
Somewhere in the city, George Stacy arrives at a AA meeting where Harrison Thompson is sitting with the group listening and sharing, Thompson has been attending meetings ever since he left home and walked out on his family, George came to check on his progress in his recovery.
"Hello everyone, my name is Harrison Thompson and I'm a alcoholic." Harrison Thompson sharing with the group.
"Hi Harrison!" Everyone says to Harrison Thompson.
"I'm 25 days sober since I had my last drink, I'm a police officer. I guess that you say that my story started when my friend and partner was shot in the head in a line of duty, right in front of me. The image of that incident has been too traumatic for me, rather than talking about it, I ended up burying my issues in a bottle. It started with just one bottle a day, then much later it became two bottles, and then much more. My alcoholism starting getting out of control since then that it affected my family, it's been going on for the past eight years that I ended up taking my frustrations on them verbally. I pretty much alienated myself from my children, mostly my son Flash is the one who suffered, he ended up bullying others, maybe he learned that from me, I hardly pay any attention to Jessie and her progress in school. That's why I'm here, I want to take control of my life, to stop the drinking. Anyway, thank you all for listening." Harrison Thompson shared with the group.
Everyone clapped their hands for Harrison Thompson's progress in staying sober, George is impressed. The meeting is done for the day as everyone shakes hands and puts away the chair. Harrison grabbed a cup of coffee as he walks out and spotted Captain Stacy here in the room.
"Captain, what are you doing here?" Harrison Thompson is clueless.
"I just wanted to come by and see your progress in your rehabilitation." George Stacy told Harrison Thompson.
"Appreciate it, no worries, I'm 25 days sober, no alcohol, meetings everyday, I promise." Harrison Thompson assures George Stacy of his soberness.
"That's good to know. Have you seen or contacted your family?" George Stacy asking Harrison Thompson.
"I called my wife a couple weeks ago and told her that I'm staying in the city, attending counseling and AA meetings, but I haven't seen her or my kids. Don't know if they even want to see me, and I don't blame them after the way I've treated them." Harrison Thompson told George Stacy.
"Maybe if they see you, the man you are right now, they might give you a chance. Go and see them, try to make an effort." George Stacy advised Harrison Thompson.
"George, why do you care so much in helping me? I know that I don't deserve it." Harrison Thompson is curious.
"Truth is, I don't think that you're such a bad guy, just a guy who's dealing with his own demons. Besides, I know what it's like to suffer losing someone." George Stacy told Harrison Thompson.
"You did? Who?" Harrison Thompson is curious.
"My wife, Helen, Gwen's mother. Ten years ago, I was a detective and a lieutenant in those days, I was part of a unit responsible in taking down a major crime family. But not all of them were captured, as retaliation for going after their people, they sent their hitman after my wife, she was killed in a drive by, I found her laying dead on the sidewalk, it still haunts me." George Stacy shares his trauma with Harrison Thompson.
"I'm sorry." Harrison Thompson can relate his pain.
"I was still dealing with my own grief of losing the love of my life, the mother of my daughter, I was tempted in taking the bottle to drown out my pain." George Stacy confessed to coming close to drinking.
"You?" Harrison Thompson is very surprised.
"I almost did, but I couldn't." George Stacy told Harrison Thompson.
"What stopped you?" Harrison Thompson wants to know.
"Gwen, I had to remain strong and to live for my daughter, she was my rock, my reason for living. I talked to a psychologist to work through my loss. This is why I wanted to help you, not just for yourself, but for your family." George Stacy told Harrison Thompson.
"Thank you, I envy you, Captain Stacy. Gwen is lucky to have you, you're a great father. Something I'm not, and I don't think I'll ever be." Harrison Thompson told George Stacy.
"Hey, it's never too late to change. You have a chance to repair the damage to your family, don't throw that away." George Stacy encourage Harrison Thompson.
Harrison Thompson smiled with respect. "Thank you, great talk."
George and Harrison shakes hands as Harrison has great respect for George for all he's done for him.
Later in Tribeca, Peter and Gwen are finished with school for the day as they're walking down the neighborhood towards the Coffee Bean for a drink. Peter and Gwen both received texts from George Stacy asking for Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider to meet them later at the 13th precinct.
"I got a text from my dad, he wants us to meet him at the 13th at 5 o'clock." Gwen told Peter.
"Yeah, I got that same text too, he wants to go as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider. Any idea what this is about?" Peter asking Gwen.
"No idea, he's been pretty busy at the precinct lately, all hush-hush, like he's working on something confidential." Gwen told Peter.
"I guess we'll find out soon enough." Peter told Gwen.
Peter and Gwen enters the Coffee Bean as they've spotted Mary Jane and Flash sitting at the table kissing each other, Mary Jane spotted her friends here and stopped the kiss blushing and looked embarrassed, Flash turns to sees Parker and Stacy here both surprised by what they just saw.
"Peter, Gwen." Mary Jane looked surprised in front of her friends.
"Sorry, didn't know that you were here... with Flash." Peter told Mary Jane.
"We just came in for a drink, sorry to walk in at a bad time." Gwen told Mary Jane.
"It's fine." Mary Jane told her friends.
"So you and Flash, huh?" Peter is surprised.
"Yeah, me and Flash." Mary Jane confirmed it with Peter.
"Is that a problem, Parker?" Flash asking Peter.
"No, just surprised. We knew that you both gotten close, we just never imagined it was this close." Peter told Flash.
"When did this happen?" Gwen is curious about their romantic relationship.
"Since prom night, we… kissed." Mary Jane confessed to them.
"Wow!" Peter is surprised.
"Yeah, wow!" Gwen is surprised too.
"Sorry we didn't tell you both earlier, we wanted to keep this to ourselves." Mary Jane told her friends.
"Don't be, it's nice that you both have each other." Peter told Mary Jane and Flash.
"We'll leave you to your business. Peter and I are just going to grab a cup of coffee and walk out, excuse us." Gwen told Mary Jane.
Gwen and Peter walked to make an order for their drinks, leaving Flash and Mary Jane.
"That was awkward." Flash told Mary Jane.
"Yeah, but now it's no secret anymore, there's no reason we can't do this." Mary Jane flirted with Flash.
Mary Jane and Flash leaned in closer and kisses each other as Peter and Gwen are waiting for drinks, they've see them kissing again.
"Wow, they didn't waist anytime." Gwen says to Peter.
The barista handed them both paper cups of coffee as they took them in their hands.
"Thanks. Let's get going, see what your dad has in store for us." Peter told Gwen.
Peter and Gwen left the Coffee Bean together as Mary Jane and Flash stayed behind for their date.
Back at F.E.A.S.T., May is still leading the shelter even though the founder Martin Li is back, some of the staff are teaching the homeless special skills to help them get jobs, May is getting worried since Martin Li has been in his office for too long since he got back from his trip.
"Take over, I'll go check on Mr. Li." May told one of the staff to fill in for her.
May walked away from her work as she walks up to the office and knocked on the door.
"Mr. Li?" May knocked again. "Mr. Li, it's May Parker, are you alright?"
May heard no response as she opens the office door and went inside to check up on Martin Li, only to find that his office is empty.
"Where did he go?" May is worried about Martin Li.
Later on the rooftop at the 13th precinct, George Stacy is waiting alone for Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider to arrive to debrief them both on a case he's been working on with HKPD. He spotted them swinging around the neighborhood together as they've landed on the rooftop.
"Glad you both could make the time. I was getting worried that you both might've run into trouble." George Stacy told them.
"Luckily no." Spider-Man told George Stacy.
"We got your text, care to tell us why you asked us to meet here?" Ghost-Spider is curious.
"Follow me." George Stacy told them as he walks back inside.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider followed George into the precinct.

Inside the room, Yuri Watanabe and Inspector Lei Ling are waiting as George came in along with Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider here in persons. The heroes are surprised by the new face and all the pictures on the wall.
"Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, meet Inspector Lei Ling, Hong Kong PD." George Stacy introduced Lei Ling to them.
"Hong Kong PD, long way from home, what brings her to New York?" Ghost-Spider is curious.
"She's part of a US-Chinese task force, we've been working together for months tracking a crime syndicate based out of Hong Kong, their criminal network has reached here in New York. I brought you both here as Inspector Ling will debrief you on recent events." George Stacy explained to them.
"Let this be clear, what I'm about to share with you both is strictly confidential. Normally I wouldn't enlist the help of vigilantes, but I've heard about your successes in taking down criminal enterprises, perhaps you both can be of bigger help to us. Please be in mind that everything I say here never leaves the room, understand?" Lei Ling asking the heroes for discretion.
"Sure, we're pretty good at keeping secrets." Ghost-Spider assured Lei Ling.
"Our lips are sealed." Spider-Man zipped his lips.
"Very well, we've been tracking a Triad faction that is based out of Hong Kong for the past two years, they're secretive and well organized. They've been tied to drug running, prostitution, and human trafficking, they have deep connections all over the world. We've exhausted all of our resources and sent in undercover cops to infiltrate this organization, but only had some setbacks and they've remained a step ahead of our investigation." Lei Ling explained about this organization.
"We had a run in with the Triads recently, but that was months ago, ever since White Dragon was taken into custody, we haven't heard from them since." Spider-Man told Lei Ling.
"Yes, but the remaining Triad gangs have now joined up with this organization, their numbers have grown and crime around New York is steadily rising during the same period." George Stacy informs them.
"We had no idea, who are they exactly?" Ghost-Spider is curious.
"They call themselves the Inner Demons, four years ago they've only started small until they've grown in power, they've overpowered every gang in Hong Kong until they've become too powerful that no rival Triads would even dare mess with them. About two years ago, they've began their expansion into the US, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, and most recently New York. They've amassed a huge fortune, all their members are armed to the teeth with cutting edge weapons. They're lead by a man who's identity still remains unknown to this day, all we got in all our efforts is just an alias, Mister Negative." Lei Ling explained about the Inner Demons.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider now knows that this mysterious crime boss goes by the name Mister Negative.
"What do we do know about this Mister Negative?" Spider-Man asking Lei Ling for more details.
"Not much, he's very careful in hiding his true identity, no one knows who he is and no one lives to tells. The only thing we know for sure is that he's here, in New York. Hong Kong PD confirmed it, he's here personally in New York and we still don't have any idea what he looks like." Lei Ling told the heroes.
"And just like the other crime lords before him, he's attempting to fill in the power vacuum that Kingpin left behind." Yuri Watanabe told the heroes.
"So does this mean that we have a New Kingpin on our hands?" Spider-Man told the group.
"It might be worst than that, according to our intelligence back home, this Mister Negative is rumored to have powers just like the villains you've come across here, it's how he managed to overpower all the gangs back home." Lei Ling told them that Mister Negative is a supervillain.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are surprised to hear that this guy isn't just a crime lord, but that he has powers too, he could be more dangerous than the Kingpin or any of the crime lords they've come across.
"And that's why you called us? Because we have experienced in dealing with supervillains, right?" Ghost-Spider told Lei Ling.
"Correct, with you two on our side, we might have a better chance at taking down the Inner Demons and Mister Negative himself. If he is rumored to be as dangerous as they say, then you both are our only hope in taking him down. Are you both in?" Lei Ling wants an answer.
"Yeah, I'm in." Spider-Man agrees to help them.
"Me too." Ghost-Spider agrees too.
"Then we're all in this together. We'll give you a list of possible Inner Demon hangouts to start from, maybe Mister Negative will be there at one of them. Oh, and please keep us in the loop, if you see him, inform us immediately." Lei Ling told the heroes.
"Will do." Spider-Man agrees to cooperate.
"Good luck to you both." Lei Ling wished them both good luck.
At the same time, it's 7:30 in the morning on a different day, back in Hong Kong, at a local restaurant with WiFi, both Ty and Tandy are dressed in causal clothes as Ty is sitting at the table with his laptop using the internet as Tandy is picking up a Chinese breakfast for both her and Ty.
"Thank you." Tandy speaking Cantonese.
Tandy walked back to the table with their breakfast as Ty is still eyeballing the computer, she sits down as Ty stopped and sees Tandy sitting opposite of him.
"So how long are we going to stay in Hong Kong? I don't mind being here, but I just miss home a bit." Ty asking Tandy.
"Yeah, me too. Don't worry, after we find out the identity of Mister Negative, we'll head straight to New York, hopefully our amazing friends back are doing fine keeping the city safe." Tandy told Ty.
"By the way, I found something interesting on the net." Ty told Tandy.
"What'd you find, Ty?" Tandy is curious.
Ty shows the article on the laptop from four years ago concerning a human smuggling operation and a large fire.
"About four years ago, a Snakehead hideout was on fire, Hong Kong PD found a number of smugglers and dead immigrants among the wreckage, sources confirmed that they were being experimented by force and died out. Sound familiar?" Ty told Tandy about the article.
"Yeah, Simon Marshall did the same to us and all the poor homeless kids like us. This article coincides with Marshall's time in China, back when he worked for the Triads before his banishment." Tandy is familiar with this incident.
"It's gets better, the article say that there was only one survivor, he witnessed everything that happened that day, but the police didn't believe him as he raves about a black and white man with powers." Ty explained about the article.
"He must've witnessed one of Marshall's experiments displaying powers like us, that's gotta be Mister Negative. Where is this survivor now?" Tandy asking Ty.
"He's been sent to a psychiatric facility, he was declared legally insane. The facility is here in Hong Kong." Ty told Tandy.
"We'll have to wait till midnight when everyone is asleep, then we'll sneak into the place and talk to the guy, hear what he has to say. If this guy survived and seen Mister Negative, then he must know what he looks like, even knows his name." Tandy told Ty.
"It's a long shot, there's no guarantees that he might know much, but we can give it a try." Ty told Tandy.
"Great, in the meantime we take in the sites while we wait." Tandy suggested to Ty,
"Okay, let's take a tour around Hong Kong while we're here." Ty agrees with Tandy.
Ty and Tandy then started eating their breakfast as they plan to stick around Hong Kong till midnight, taking in the sights.
At the same time back in New York, it's 7:45 PM, outside of a construction site in Chinatown, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are overlooking something suspicious from the rooftop, a group of strange looking criminals wearing demon masks, this is a possible Inner Demon hangout but there are other criminals here gathered around besides the Demons.
"You think it's them?" Ghost-Spider asking Spider-Man.
"With those demon masks, it's definitely them." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
"So how do we sort out which one is Mister Negative? No one has ever seen him before." Ghost-Spider is wondering.
"Don't worry, we'll find him, if he is the boss of this big gang, he'll show himself eventually." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider heard a helicopter sound coming towards them.
"Hide!" Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
A helicopter is flying close over them as they quickly hide themselves behind the rooftop access, staying out of sight, the helicopter never spotted the heroes as they see it landing on the construction site, they came out of hiding and looked across to the helicopter landing, a man in a black cloak came out being escorted by more members of the Inner Demons.
"Could that be him? Mister Negative?" Ghost-Spider is wondering.
"I'm not sure, but we need a closer look. Come on." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider swings across to the construction site, avoiding the Inner Demon sentries on patrol. They've managed to sneak in undetected as they remained hidden and stayed out of sight. They found this mysterious man talking to members of the local criminal gangs, they stayed hidden nearby and watched.
"Greeting gentlemen, I am Mister Negative. Welcome to this private summit." Mister Negative introduced himself.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are shocked to hear that he's Mister Negative, but they still don't know what he looks like underneath the cloak as he keeps his true identity hidden for some reason.
"What's with the cloak?"
"I apologize for the discretion, but I need assurances that I can trust you before I share my true face with anyone. So have you thought over about my proposal?" Mister Negative asking the gangs.
"Sounds tempting and there's a lot of money to be made, but it's too risky. Besides, if we do business in setting up shops, we'll sure attract the attention of the cops, or worst yet, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider."
"Ah yes, them! I'm well aware of their presence and their work in keeping New York free of crime bosses. But that doesn't really concern me, if they come causing trouble, I'll deal with them personally." Mister Negative told the gangs.
"How?"
"Let's just say that I have a gift that allow me to get rid of anyone who gets in my way. So, what do you say? Shall we shake on it?" Mister Negative extended his hand out for a handshake.
One of the gang leaders extended his hand and shakes it, but something unexpected happens as a surge of unknown energy is channeling from Mister Negative into the man, everyone is witnessing something unexpected, including Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider as they witness before their eyes as the man is glowing black and white. The rumors are true, Mister Negative has powers unlike any other, but the heroes see this power as somewhat familiar.
"Are you seeing this?" Ghost-Spider is shocked.
"I saw it." Spider-Man is also shocked too.
Mister Negative finished giving some of his power over to the other guy as the man is smiling with power he could ever dream of.
"How do you feel?" Mister Negative is asking the guy.
"I feel… good. This power feels wonderful!"
One of the Demon came up onto the floor to spot Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider hiding.
"IT'S THEM! THEY'RE HERE!"
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider turns around to see that a Demon is behind them as he aims his rifle, but the two heroes fired a webbing at him together, trapping him. But they quickly turned their attention to the criminals down below, including Mister Negative who is charging up his power and fires a burst of negative energy at the heroes, they've jumped away from the blast in time and landed in a three point stance right in the middle. Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are surrounded by criminals at every angle, Mister Negative still hiding his identity in the cloak walked up and got their attention.
"Spider-Man, Ghost-Spider, good to see you both again." Mister Negative says to the heroes.
"Again? We've met before?" Spider-Man is confused.
"Who are you?" Ghost-Spider is also confused.
Mister Negative chuckled. "Oh! You've both be very surprised once you find out, that is if you live long enough. Kill them both!"
Mister Negative walks away from the gangs as the Inner Demons all pulled out their swords and nunchucks, the gang members pulled out their guns as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are in for a fight as they have their fists ready.
"So which ones do you want to take?" Spider-Man asking Ghost-Spider.
"I'll take the ugly ones with masks." Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
The Inner Demons strikes first as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider dodge the blades and strikes back with their fists to the face, the gangs started shooting as both spider dodged the bullets and fired back by webbing the barrels. Meanwhile Mister Negative is boarding the helicopter as Spider-Man finished taking down a thug and spotted the supervillain making his escape.
"He's getting away!" Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
Ghost-Spider push kicked a thug. "Go! I'll hold them off!"
Ghost-Spider took on the demons alone as Spider-Man runs towards Mister Negative in the helicopter taking off from the construction site. It's flying away in the city as Spider-Man ran close enough to web the hull and got pulled. The pilot is experiencing turbulence, he looks back to see Spider-Man still holding onto the webline.
"Sir, we have a problem!"
Mister Negative opens the door to see Spider-Man holding onto the webline as he's climbing up towards the helicopter itself.
"Shake him off!" Mister Negative orders the pilot.
The pilot does some evasive maneuvers hoping to shake Spider-Man off. The hero is still holding on despite the fact he's having a hard time holding on. Spider-Man continues to climb towards the helicopter as Mister Negative can't get rid of him.
"He still won't let go." Mister Negative is troubled.
The helicopter is flying towards one of the building with a water tower on top, he then got an idea on how to ditch Spider-Man.
"Hey Spider-Man! I'm impressed that you can hang on, but can you multitask?!" Mister Negative told Spider-Man.
Mister Negative spotted the water tower on the rooftop as he charged up his hands, he discharged negative energy at the beams holding the tower and destroyed them. Spider-Man sees the water tower is losing its footing as it's about to fall down upon the people down below the streets.
"Make a choice, Spider-Man! Me or the people? Choose!" Mister Negative gave Spider-Man an ultimatum.
Spider-Man reluctantly lets go and allows Mister Negative to escape as he heads to the water tower on the rooftop, the people down below noticed it as they scream in fear. Spider-Man made it to the rooftop as he webs up the water tower, stopping its tilting and holds it with all his strength. Spider-Man still holds it as Ghost-Spider arrive to help out, she helped by finding some things to be used a support beams, she webs them together as Spider-Man pulls the tower with all his strength to put it back in place, she placed them onto the broken beam and webbed them, the water tower stopped moving, the people on the ground are safe from danger.
"Ghost-Spider, glad you came in time." Spider-Man is grateful to Ghost-Spider.
"I already took care of the Demons. And what of Mister Negative?" Ghost-Spider is wondering.
"He got away, I had no choice, it's either him or the people, I'm sorry." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
"It's okay, you made the right choice. We'll have another opportunity again now that we know he's here." Ghost-Spider gave some optimism.
"I hope so." Spider-Man says to Ghost-Spider.
"We should head back and inform my dad about Mister Negative." Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider jumped off the rooftop and swings away from the scene.
At the same time outside the Thompson Residence, Harrison is outside working up the courage to see his family again, he spotted his family living their lives peacefully ever since he left them.
"I miss you all." Harrison Thompson says to himself.
He wanted to go to the door and see his family again, but he felt guilt from the way he treated them, he's scared if they'll want to see him again or not. He decided to walk away without letting his family know he dropped by.
Back at the 13th precinct, George, Yuri, and Lei Ling are watching the news about a recent conflict in Chinatown involving Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider fighting off the gangs and about the damage they've caused.
"A conflict happened in Chinatown as Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider were engaged in combat against a group of criminals at a construction site that resulted in damages, later Spider-Man was chasing after a helicopter as an unknown supervillain blasted a water tower that was about to collapse onto the local population, fortunately Spider-Man was able to prevent a tragedy in time. We now go live to J Jonah Jameson outside of the Daily Bugle."
"I keep telling the people of New York for more than a year, these so called heroes needs to be held accountable for their actions. Since that menace Spider-Man showed up more than a year and a half ago, a number of dangerous incidents has grown exponentially, including that mess last year where all of New York came close to being frozen along with the rest of the world. I say that he needs to step down and back off from police work, before he causes any more damage to the city." Jameson speaking out against Spider-Man.
"Wow, this man has a strong dislike for Spider-Man." Lei Ling is surprised by the level of criticism Jameson is speaking out.
"We pretty much hear it everyday that we don't take it seriously." Yuri Watanabe says to Lei Ling.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider came into the private room to meet us with George, Yuri, and Lei with the news about their recent failures in Chinatown broadcast on live TV.
"What happened out there?" George Stacy wants an update.
"We found the Demons, including their leader Mister Negative himself." Ghost-Spider informs them.
"Mister Negative? You saw his face?" Lei Ling wants to know.
"Unfortunately no, he was hiding himself underneath a cloak, this is guy is very paranoid in showing his true face. But the rumors about him are true, he's got powers." Spider-Man told them about Mister Negative.
"So he's another supervillain, that shouldn't be a problem for you both." Lei Ling has faith in them.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider remained quiet as George and Yuri are curious about their thoughts on this whole thing.
"What is it?" George Stacy asking them.
"His powers, they're very familiar, we've seen them before." Spider-Man thought about Mister Negative's powers.
"You have? Where?" Lei Ling is curious.
"Cloak and Dagger had these similar abilities for light and dark, though in Mister Negative's case, he has both." Ghost-Spider shared their experiences with theses kinds of powers.
"Are you saying that Mister Negative is connected to these two teens that madman Simon Marshall experimented on?" George Stacy wants to know.
"We're sure, before they left for China, they told us that there was someone else who had powers like them, who was part of the same experiment Simon Marshall performed." Spider-Man believes Mister Negative is connected.
"Since this Mister Negative and his criminal empire originated in Hong Kong, that can't be a coincidence." Ghost-Spider agrees with Spider-Man.
"So what's the next step in finding him? We had a shot in capturing him and it failed." Lei Ling is disappointed that Mister Negative evaded them.
"He's not planning to running away, he seem overconfident in his powers that he'll want to stay to face us and keep all of New York to himself." Ghost-Spider told the group.
"He said that we've crossed paths before." Spider-Man looked confused.
"How?" Yuri Watanabe is confused.
"I don't know, and that's what scares me. We never seen his face and he could be anyone we've come across before without knowing it. I'm sorry that we couldn't do better in capturing him, we couldn't let those people die because of us." Spider-Man told the group.
"It's okay, you did the right thing in saving the people. You'll take down Mister Negative another time, he can't run forever." George Stacy told Spider-Man.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider have a feeling that they'll have another chance with Mister Negative, though they could only hope that the two of them together with be enough to fight a powerful enemy with unimaginable power and an army of minions at his side.
The next morning at 6:30 AM at the penthouse, Martin Li is sleeping on the bed with his face down as the doorbell is ringing, he started to wake up from and finds himself in his bedroom wearing the same clothes from yesterday, he looked very confused for some reason. Meanwhile the doorbell continues to ring as he gets off the bed and walks out of the bedroom and made it to the door, he opens it and find May Parker her outside his penthouse.
"Mrs. Parker?" Martin Li is surprised.
"Hi, Mr. Li. May I come in?" May asking for permission.
"Yeah." Martin Li invites May inside.
May came into the penthouse as she find Martin Li all messed up wearing the same clothes he came in the shelter since his return.
"So what can I do for you?" Martin Li told May.
"I'm worried about you, you've disappeared since yesterday. I thought something might've happened to you, that you ran into trouble in Chinatown." May told Martin Li.
"Trouble? What happened in Chinatown?" Martin Li is very confused.
"You don't know?" May handed Martin Li the paper.
Martin Li took an issue of the Daily Bugle, titled 'Disaster in Chinatown, Spider-Man terrorizing the neighborhood.' He became very confused as he lost track of his own time, unaware of anything happening, May looked at Martin Li to see that he is troubled.
"This all happened last night?" Martin Li asking May for answers.
"Yeah, why?" May is curious.
"Nothing, it's nothing." Martin Li told May.
"Are you sure that you're alright? You've been acting strange lately, and it's not the first time." May told Martin Li.
"What do you mean?" Martin Li looked somewhat nervous.
"I've seen this strange look once, it's was on that day at the shelter when the news told everyone about that Silvermane criminal conducting illegal experiments with that mad scientist who got killed months ago. Is there something going on with you that you're not telling me?" May told Martin Li.
"Honestly Mrs. Parker, I'm just as confused as you are. I keep losing track of time, and I have no idea why." Martin Li told May.
"Losing time? Do you have some kind of condition, like sleep walking?" May is curious.
"Something like that." Martin Li told May.
"Mr. Li, forgive me if I'm out of place, but maybe you should see a doctor to find out what you have, it could be very serious. If you want, I might recommend some specialists for you to see to figure out your condition." May suggested to Martin Li.
"I appreciate it, Mrs. Parker, I'll think about it." Martin Li told May.
"Well, I should get back, the shelter is opening soon. Take care of yourself." May told Martin Li.
"Thank you." Martin Li told May.
May walked out of the penthouse as Martin Li stayed behind and went to his bathroom. He turns on the sink and poured water onto his hands and rubs his face wet, he then looked himself in the mirror with a troubled look that he lost track of time again. His facial expressions then suddenly changed with a dark look in his eyes.
At 2:00 AM back in Hong Kong, at the psychiatric hospital, the whole place is closed for the night as everyone is in their respected rooms, including one who is still asleep in his bed, unknown to him darkness formed around as Cloak and Dagger appears, they see the man they're looking for.
"This is the guy?" Dagger whispers to Cloak.
"Yeah, that's him." Cloak whispers to Dagger.
"Let's wake him and talk." Dagger told Cloak.
Cloak and Dagger approached carefully as they woke up the guy from his sleep who looked very spooked by their presence.
"Easy, we're not going to hurt you." Dagger speaking Cantonese.
"Please don't hurt me."
Cloak and Dagger are surprised to hear that he knows English.
"You speak English." Dagger is surprised.
"Yeah, just don't hurt me."
"Take it easy, we're not going to hurt you. We just want to talk." Dagger tries to calm the guy down.
"Talk about what?"
"About an incident that happened in Hong Kong four years ago, you were there." Dagger asking questions.
"Why should I tell you both anything? The police, the doctors, no one believed me. So why would you believe me now?"
Cloak and Dagger looked at each other and nodded their heads, they then show the guy a sample of their powers, Dagger forms a light dagger and Cloak summons darkness from his hand, the man immediately got spooked and yet not too surprised by what he is seeing.
"Oh my god, you're both like him."
"Like who? Mister Negative?" Cloak asking the question.
The man remained quiet as Cloak and Dagger hit a nerve with that question.
"You know who he is, don't you?" Dagger told the guy.
The guy nodded his head as he knows the identity of Mister Negative:
"Yes, I knew him, or at least I did."
"What do you mean?" Cloak is curious.
"It's a painful story, are you sure you both want to know?"
"We came across the world searching for answers about Mister Negative, we can't turn back now. Please, tells us what you saw." Dagger told the guy.
"Very well, it all started four years ago..."
(Flashback)
Four years ago at the secret hideout of the Triads where a lot of immigrants wanting passage to the states ended up being used as test subjects instead, locked up in cages.
"Me and my friends were all homeless back in Hong Kong, struggling to survive out on the streets, we were going to leave China for the states in search of a better life, but instead the Triads had bigger plans for us. They used us as test subjects for a American scientist who worked for them at the time."
(Present)
"Simon Marshall." Dagger told the guy.
"Yeah, that's the guy. I'd never forget that madman's face. He used us all for his sick experiments all in the name of science. I see that he hasn't changed, still continues his twisted experiments after he left the Triads."
"Not anymore, he's dead." Cloak told the guy.
"Dead? Are you sure?"
"We were there, we put an end to his experiments for good." Dagger felt uneasy talking about Simon Marshall.
"Please continue." Cloak wants to hear more of the story.
"Fine... Dr. Marshall injected the test subjects with this new experimental formula, the process was too painful for their bodies to handle, some of them started to die out, none had survive... except for him."
(Flashback)
The whole place was on fire as mysterious figure glowing black and white is unleashing his powers all over the place causing the fire, members of the Triads tries to stop him but they ended up getting overpowered by this powerful man, Simon Marshall manages to escape from the fire. The guy who survived witnessed everything that had happened on that day.
"The experiment had worked, it gave my friend extraordinary powers, it turned him into someone I didn't even recognize anymore. Before he was just an innocent victim of a cruel experiment, but then it changed him like he became a completely different person. The man I once knew became a ruthless killer, he slaughtered everyone that day, I was lucky to survive."
(Present)
"I tried telling my whole story to the cops, but no one ever believed it, they didn't buy that a man with powers killed off those Triads. They had me declared insane and locked me here for the past four years."
"We're sorry that you had to go through all that." Dagger told the guy.
"This guy, your friend. Have you ever seen or heard from him?" Cloak asking the question.
"I never seen him again since that night, but I did hear that he's been doing great out there, he ended up becoming one of the richest men in China, giving so much back to the homeless, honestly I was quite surprised by his act of kindness."
"This friend, does he have a name?" Cloak wants a name.
"Yeah, but..."
"Please, Mister Negative is still out there using his powers to commit crimes. Now he's in New York expanding his criminal empire. We just need a name to stop him, please." Dagger tries persuading the guy to giving a name.
The guy remained quiet as he doesn't want to betray his friend, but he can't stay silent either as his friend is also a very dangerous criminal that needed to be stopped.
"Okay, I'll tell you both his name, come closer and listen."
Cloak and Dagger came in close as the guy whispered a name in silence, they both became very shocked to learn the true identity of Mister Negative.
It's 3:00 PM back in New York, outside the Thompson Residence, Harrison took the first step up the front door and unlocks it with his keys. He came inside and finally returned home after being separated from his family for more than a month. He looked around to see an old picture of himself with his wife and his children when they were very young, Flash was about 3 and Jessie was only one, they were all very happy back then.
"I missed you all." Harrison Thompson looked sad with guilt.
He then walked over to the kitchen and opened up a fridge and finds some beers he left behind the last time he was here, he was surprised to find that they're still here. He took one out and popped open the bottle, he held it in his hand, he was tempted but he didn't give in. He pulled out all the beer bottles out of the fridge and opened them all. He poured one beer down the drain, he then poured them all down one by one to get rid of the temptation. The front door opened as Rosie and Jessie came home and found Harrison in the kitchen pouring beer down the sink, he then spotted his wife and daughter looking at him.
"Harrison." Rosie Thompson is surprised.
"Dad." Jessie sees her father again.
"Hey." Harrison Thompson is also surprised.
"We didn't know that you were back home." Rosie said to her husband.
"What are you doing, dad." Jessie asking her father.
"I... didn't know that you still had alcohol in this house after I left, I thought you got rid of them." Harrison Thompson says to his family.
"You still had the keys to the house, we thought you'd come back for your stuff, including your stash." Rosie told her husband.
"I don't need any of this anymore, I'm 25 days sober, I swear." Harrison Thompson assured his family of his soberness.
"That's... that's great actually, Harrison." Rosie is surprised.
"Are you coming back home, dad?" Jessie is curious.
"Well... if it's okay with your mom or your brother, then maybe I might." Harrison Thompson told his daughter.
Rosie has some doubts whether or not allow her husband back into their lives, but Jessie obviously wants her father back. She see that Harrison is more different than ever before, like the husband she use to remember before all the alcoholism.
"Sure, your daughter obviously misses you. Welcome back home, honey." Rosie allow Harrison to come back home.
"Thank you." Harrison Thompson is grateful to his wife.
"I missed you, dad." Jessie told her father.
"I missed you too." Harrison Thompson teared up.
Jessie hugged her father, he hugs her back as he missed her a lot, Flash then came in the front door.
"Hey mom, I just going to drop off my stuff and..." Flash stopped his sentence.
Flash sees his father again hugging his sister. Harrison stopped the hug to see his son again as both of them are clueless as to what to say.
"Dad?" Flash is surprised.
"Hi son." Harrison Thompson says to his son.
"I... just wanted to drop off my stuff and head out." Flash told his dad.
"Yeah, sure." Harrison Thompson says to his son.
Flash dropped off his backpack and headed out without saying another word, Harrison can tell that Flash still has resentment towards him.
"That was..." Harrison Thompson was about to finish his sentence.
"Awkward?" Jessie finished that sentence.
"Yeah." Harrison Thompson admit it.
"Give him some time, honey. Out of everyone here who had to deal with your alcoholism, Flash was the most affected." Rosie told her husband.
"I know... and I don't blame him." Harrison Thompson admits that he is to blame for his dysfunctional relationship with his son Flash.
In Brooklyn Chinatown, at a secret hideout of the Inner Demons, the members are conducting their criminal activities, one of the Lieutenants got a phone call from Mister Negative himself.
"Yes boss?"
"There's been a change of plans. I need you to gather a team and head into Manhattan's Chinatown immediately." Mister Negative told the lieutenant.
"Sure thing, anything, what's the target?"
"A homeless called F.E.A.S.T., there's a woman I want you to kill." Mister Negative gave a location of their target.
"Does she have a name?"
The lieutenant is listening on the phone for the name of the woman Mister Negative wants them to kill, she's at F.E.A.S.T..
It's 5:15 PM at F.E.A.S.T., everyone is doing their jobs including Mary Jane Watson who is doing volunteer work as part of her requirement for community service. Flash came into the shelter as Mary Jane spotted him entering the building, she stopped her work and walked up to him.
"Flash, you made it." Mary Jane walked up and kissed Flash.
"Sorry I'm late, MJ. Where Parker and Stacy?" Flash looked a bit distracted.
"They're out dealing with stuff, but they should be here soon." Mary Jane told Flash.
"I see." Flash looked troubled.
"Is everything okay? What's going on?" Mary Jane noticed something about Flash.
"Nothing, everything is fine." Flash tries to deny it.
"Come on, I can tell something is up with you. Level with me, what is it?" Mary Jane wants to know.
"It's my dad, he's returned home." Flash confessed to Mary Jane.
"Oh, I didn't know." Mary Jane is surprised.
"Me neither, I just came home and there he was with my mom and sister. I didn't think that he wanted to come home after he just walked out on us a month ago." Flash told Mary Jane.
"So how is your family feel about him coming back home?" Mary Jane is curious.
"My sister was hugging him, she misses him a lot, mom seems to be fine with him." Flash told Mary Jane.
"And you? What do you feel about him?" Mary Jane asking Flash.
"Honestly MJ, I don't know. I'm glad that he's managed to quit drinking and turning his life around, but a part of me still felt some resentment towards him, for all the times he treated me like trash." Flash told Mary Jane.
"Look, I know that your dad isn't the best father there is." Mary Jane told Flash.
"Thank you for understanding." Flash told Mary Jane.
"But... I think that he's really making an effort to reconnect with you and his family, trying to mend the wreckage he had caused, maybe he's finally regretting his mistakes and just wants a second chance to patch things up with you guys." Mary Jane says to Flash.
"He could've done that sooner when I was still young." Flash speaks with some resentment in his voice.
"I'm not trying to defend him, it's just that you have a chance to try to reconcile with your father, something I've never got to do with my father, maybe I never will. My point is that this is your chance for you both to restore your relationship as father and son, don't throw that away, Flash." Mary Jane encourage Flash.
"What if it doesn't work? What if I can't forget all the pain he had caused?" Flash is afraid of how it could turn out.
"Then at least you tried. You're a brave guy, Flash, give it a shot." Mary Jane told Flash.
Flash smiled in comfort. "Thanks MJ, I'm lucky to have a girl like you in my life."
"Don't you know it." Mary Jane flirted with Flash.
Flash and Mary Jane then kissed each other as they both felt happy talking and enjoying each other's company. May noticed it and smiled, but their happiness got cut short as men with demon masks stormed in the shelter gun blazing in the air, everyone panicked in fear, May and Mary Jane are shocked to see criminals here at the shelter, Mary Jane pulled out her phone and dial Peter, she then hides it in her pocket hoping that her friends are listening to the situation happening right now.
"Attention everyone! We're the Inner Demons, we're here looking for the woman in charge of the shelter! Where is she?!"
May and Mary Jane are both confused as to why the Inner Demons are here just looking for May, what do they want from her. One of the Demons fired more shots in the air, scaring them more.
"Last chance, if not, then we start killing everyone here!"
May stepped forwards and showed herself to the Demons as she doesn't want anymore people getting hurt because of her.
"I'm here, but leave these people out of this. What do you want from me?" May wants to know their intentions with her.
"Why to kill you of course. Say goodbye."
The lead demon pulled out his sword as he plans to kill May Parker right in front of everybody. Mary Jane and Flash are horrified that they're about to kill May, the Demon is about to swing his sword down until Spider-Man came dropping from the ceiling and webbed up the Demon's face, the guy was blinded and Spidey does the drop kick on him. May is relieved to see her nephew rescue her from death.
"Sorry I'm late." Spider-Man told May.
The other Demons all aimed their guns at Spider-Man, but Ghost-Spider came down and fired off some webbing at their guns, jamming them. Flash and Mary Jane came to May's side as Spider-Man went back and joined up Ghost-Spider to face of the Demons still standing, they all pulled out their melee weapons. May, Mary Jane, Flash, and the rest of the patrons are watching as a fight is about to happen here.
They all charged at the heroes, the two spider ran up and jumped up to perform hurricanranas on their opponents, Spider-Man got back up and does the martelo de negativa kick on the next one. Ghost-Spider flips back on the ground as another demon is coming, she strikes with a flying knee. Spider-Man fired a couple of web line in either sides and pulled the two demons towards him as he jumps and performs the split kicks, striking them both.
The lead demon managed to recover and removed the webbing as he sees the heroes are besting the Inner Demons in combat, they're fighting a losing battle, he then makes a quick decision and escapes, May noticed one of the demons escaping the scene.
"Spider-Man! He's getting away!" May pointed out for Spider-Man.
Spider-Man sees the guy running out of the shelter as he chases after the guy, Ghost-Spider is staying behind to finish up the remaining demons as May is dialing George Stacy for emergency. Spider-Man made it outside to find the guy making his escape by motorcycle, he pulled out a Spider-Tracer and tossed it onto the Demon's back, it managed to attach itself as Spider-Man decides not to chase after the guy, Ghost-Spider ran out to Spider-Man's side.
"Where the other Demon?" Ghost-Spider asking Spider-Man.
"He's gone, but we haven't lost him. I've attached a tracer onto him. With any luck, he'll lead us right to the Inner Demons hideout and hopefully to Mister Negative himself." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
"Smart, we should head back and check up on the shelter, make sure everyone is alright." Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
Later at 5:45 at F.E.A.S.T., a lot of police cars and ambulances are parked right outside the shelter with so many police officers and paramedics helping everyone outside. An unmarked car came up as George and Yuri came out along with Lei Ling who was in the back, they all enter the shelter to find members of the Inner Demons captured and taken int custody. George spotted May with Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider, he walked up to them with worry in his eyes.
"So glad you're safe, May." George Stacy is relieved for May.
"Any care to tell us what happened here?" Yuri Watanabe asking the question.
"It all happened fast, they just came in shooting in the air without warning." May told the police.
"Why? What do they want?" Lei Ling is curious.
"They wanted... to kill me." May is very confused.
George and Yuri are shocked to hear that the Inner Demons have marked May Parker for death.
"Any ideas why they wanted you dead?" George Stacy asking May.
"Honestly George, I don't know. I have no idea what I've done to piss them off, this is all very confusing to me." May is very clueless.
"Okay listen, I'm going to park officers here at the shelter for protection, if the Inner Demons are behind this, then you not safe." George Stacy told May.
"It's a good thing that you both came to everyone's rescue in time, nice work." Lei Ling complemented the heroes.
"We just happened to be in the neighborhood, luckily." Spider-Man says to Lei Ling.
"Excuse us." Ghost-Spider told the group.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider walked away as they needed the privacy to themselves as May is being questioned by the police for more details. Spider-Man pulled out his phone and activated the Spider-Tracer app, the signal is still working.
"Okay, the signal is pointing towards Southeast, if I'm reading this right, it's in Brooklyn." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
"Great, let's get going." Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
"Sorry Ghost-Spider, but I need you to stay here to keep Aunt May safe Incase the Demons come back for another round." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider to stay behind.
"Spidey, these guys aren't regular criminals, they're well armed and their leader Mister Negative is proven to be a bigger challenge even for us, you can't take them on all alone." Ghost-Spider protest Spider-Man.
"I won't, I'm just going to do reconnaissance to make sure that it's their hideout. If I find any Demons there, I'll call you and the rest of the NYPD for backup, I promise." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
"Okay, just be careful out there." Ghost-Spider told Spider-Man.
"I will, promise." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider are walking out of the shelter only to find the press with cameras taking pictures and recording, reporters demanding answers to this attack, among them is J Jonah Jameson of the Daily Bugle.
"Spider-Man!!!" Jameson yelled out.
"Oh great, old Flattop again." Spider-Man ignored Jameson.
"Do you both have anything to say about this disaster you've created yet again?!" Jameson criticizing the heroes.
"Yeah, no comment." Spider-Man still ignores Jameson.
"Do you think that you can just walk away from this?! Everywhere you go, you bring nothing but disaster into everyone's lives, including the end of the world last year. You think that you're doing your jobs in keeping us safe? Menaces like you two should never be allow to be heroes, you both should be locked up in cages for a long time! We don't need any of you here!" Jameson gave an offensive comment.
"What did you say?!" Ghost-Spider felt offended by those words.
"Ghost-Spider, don't! Just let it go, it's not worth it." Spider-Man told Ghost-Spider.
Spider-Man fired off a webbing and swings away as Ghost-Spider stays behind to guard the shelter and May, everyone watched as Spider-Man is swinging through the city alone.
Back in Hong Kong, it's 6:00 in the morning as Cloak and Dagger are on the rooftop looking at all of Hong Kong, they're both still processing the information they've learned last night.
"I can't believe that Mister Negative is really..." Dagger is about to finish her sentence.
"I know, this came as a shock to me too. Nobody every suspected that he's capable of such a thing." Cloak told Dagger.
"We need to head back to New York at once, Spider-Man and Ghost-Spider needs to know the truth before it's too late." Dagger told Cloak.
"Right, we've been here long enough, time to go home. Are you ready?" Cloak asking Dagger.
"Ready, let's go." Dagger told Cloak.
"Hold on!" Cloak told Dagger.
Dagger hold onto Cloak as he engulfed himself and Dagger into the darkness and disappeared from Hong Kong, they're heading back home to New York.
At the same time at 7:00 PM, Spider-Man managed to trace the signal to a warehouse in Brooklyn Chinatown, Spider-Man is on a rooftop keeping himself from a distance as he see the place is crawling with the Inner Demons outside on patrol.
"Looks like this is place, better call Ghost-Spider and let her send in the calvary." Spider-Man says to himself.
Spider-Man is pulling out his phone as he plans to call Ghost-Spider and tell her that he found the Inner Demons hideout. Unknown to him, a couple of Demons are walking up behind him with their guns aimed at his head. Spider-Man's senses tingles as he turns around and finds that he was spotted. They started shooting as Spider-Man moves to dodge the bullets, but his phone got destroyed. Spider-Man is moving to dodge the bullets, a lot of Demons on the ground heard the gunshots and moved in to subdue Spider-Man.
"Great, so much for calling the calvary. I'll have to do this alone." Spider-Man says in his thoughts.
Spider-Man webbed up the guns and yanked them off the demon's hands. He then run up and does the drop kick on one demon, then he does the martelo de negativa kick on the other. He took two down as more Demons came up to the rooftop and started firing, Spider-Man jumps off the rooftop and lands on the ground, some more Demons came with swords, Spider-Man sees a crate nearby, he webbed it up and pulls it towards him, he then tossed it at several thugs and taking them out. A Demon came up thrusting his sword to the back of his head, Spidey moves his head and caught the Demon's wrist, he pulls him and flips him down hard.
He's getting the best of the demons easily on his own, but then his spider senses tingles hard as a surge of negative energy unleashed upon him, sending him flying towards the wall hard. Spider-Man fell down as the blast was too strong for him and the impact did some damage to him. Spider-Man is having trouble getting himself back up as someone glowing black and white is walking towards him, he only got a glimpse of his feet, the guy kicked Spider-Man hard on the head, knocking him out cold. Spider-Man has been defeated and now is at the mercy of the Inner Demons and Mister Negative himself.
Meanwhile back at F.E.A.S.T., Ghost-Spider stayed behind as did the NYPD, May is on the phone calling Martin Li to let him know of the situation here, the phone is still ringing as she's still trying to reach him.
"Still no answer?" George Stacy says to May.
"Nothing, just keeps going to voicemail. I'm getting worried that something might've happened to him." May is worried for Martin Li.
Mary Jane then noticed Ghost-Spider on the phone dialing Spider-Man. Mary Jane sees Flash helping out as she walks up to Ghost-Spider who seemed troubled.
"Anything?" Mary Jane is curious.
"Nothing, it's been more than an hour and he's hasn't called back. I'm worried that he might've run into trouble." Ghost-Spider is worried for Spider-Man.
"Hey, he's going to be okay." Mary Jane tries to comfort Ghost-Spider.
"I hope so." Ghost-Spider prays for Spider-Man's life.
All of a sudden darkness formed up in the middle of the shelter as everyone got spooked, Ghost-Spider recognize it from before, Cloak and Dagger appeared right before their eyes.
"Cloak? Dagger?" Ghost-Spider is surprised to see both again.
"Ghost-Spider, thank god we've found you." Dagger says to Ghost-Spider.
"Where's Spider-Man?" Cloak asking Ghost-Spider.
"He's not here, but what brings you both back to New York after so long?" Ghost-Spider asking about their sudden return.
"We had to come to tell you." Dagger told Ghost-Spider.
"Tell me what?" Ghost-Spider is curious.
"Mister Negative, we know who he is and you're never to believe it." Cloak told Ghost-Spider.
George, Yuri, and Lei all heard that Cloak and Dagger both knows the secret identity of Mister Negative himself.
"You know who he is?" Lei Ling is curious.
"Yeah, we came out here as soon as possible to tell you." Dagger told the group.
"Well, who is he?" Yuri Watanabe is curious.
"Please, tell us." Ghost-Spider wants to know too.
"Okay, Mister Negative is..." Dagger is about to tell everyone Mister Negative's true identity.
Back at the Inner Demons hideout, Spider-Man is waking up to find himself inside a warehouse surrounded by Demons, he tries to move but finds him restrained by very strong steel that he can't break himself out, the Inner Demon lieutenant noticed Spider-Man awaken.
"Spider-Man, finally you're awake. Welcome, our boss has been expecting you."
"You're boss? And where is your boss?" Spider-Man wants to know.
"Anxious, aren't you? Allow me to introduce our boss, Mister Negative."
A Chinese man came walking down towards Spider-Man, Spidey looked up to see the leader of the Inner Demons showing himself before him. Spider-Man became shocked as he saw the face of Mister Negative in person, it's someone he recognized very well. The man who goes by Mister Negative is none other than the Chinese Billionaire who founded F.E.A.S.T, Martin Li.
"You?" Spider-Man is very shocked and surprised.
"Hello Spider-Man, I hear that you've been looking for me. Here I am, Mister Negative." Martin Li smiles before Spider-Man.
Spider-Man then sees that Martin Li is now turning himself black and white right before his eyes. Martin Li is the super powered crime boss known as Mister Negative.
