The smell of burning fabric, and brimstone filled the air along side with the sounds of screaming that ringed through the halls. This reminded Dite of when she fought in the Department of Mysteries before she was flung back in time. She could hear the wall crumbling around her as other witches and wizards fought in the halls of the ministry. Dite along with Lily were trying to get those who did not want to fight to safe places to hide. It was their way of staying out of sight of their better half's. Before they arrived at the ministry, James was fussing over Lily after they destroyed the horcruxes as they waited for the other members of the Order to arrive. Dumbledore and Dite were going over possible plans of taking down the Dark Lord now that he was human once again.
But hindsight was 50/50 at best, Dite thought that this may be a possible out come from her many chats with the fates she has had. Others where the Dark Lord going after individuals of the order then a massive battle. But she reasoned that having so many pieces of his soul destroyed that he no longer was sane and would be even more implosive to doing things that he would normally wouldn't do. Receiving a message from Amilia Bones that the ministry was being attacked out right put a damper on how long they had to plan. Thus the reason Dite was now running through the halls after leaving Regulus and Remus fighting against Grayback who cornered them.
James, Sirius and Peter when they split up was up against a death eater each. Her parents were close by and even though she was worried, she couldn't distract them at all. Dite had a feeling that the Dark Lord would be going after the Hall of records that only the minister or unspeakable's could enter. If he managed to get into the hall, he would find out that Aphrodite Prewett never truly existed until 4 years ago. All the documents that they prepared would show the magical signature of when they were created. That would mean that all their background information and stories would be untagled.
Even with those that knew now being supportive, it would be very bad if someone found out that she changed what should have happened.
After securing a office door to protect those inside, Dite rounded a cornner and found herself in front of Malfoy.
"Well, well, if it isnt Regulus's little slut." He sneered at her as his wand came to be aimed at her after he killed the ministry worker on the ground.
"I'm not so sure I'm a slut as you think as I never been with anyone besides Regulus." She spoke, moving her body into a defensive position.
"You have been a slut ever since the Black Brothers took an interest in you." He shot off a spell at her.
By the way it hit the wall after she dodged it, that spell would have done a number on her.
"All I ever was was myself to them. Never enchanted or spelled them to be on my side." She shot a few spells off herself.
The two came to be in an intense dual, Malfoy desperately trying to kill her as she worked to stun him. While she thought of ways to get Malfoy stay in one place for just a second for her new stunning spell to hit. She was completely glad that her parents taught her how to dual with both styles of the araura department and the unspeakable department. They both had their uses, even though she fell on to a mix of the styles as her own.
"I will kill you and then I'll be once again recognized by him." Malfoy spat at her as she dodged a killing curse.
"Oh like that will be such a great thing being on his good side. You will always fail and then your son will pay for your mistakes." She yelled back.
Her comment caused Malfoy to stop and look at her. She was against the wall breathing hard as she watched him. Dite wanted to know what he would do next after her insight to him having a son.
"How do you know that?" He spat leveling his wand to her chest.
"I've seen it, each time you fail your Dark lord your son will suffer." She kept eye contact with him.
Staring at him, she realized that Draco did not inherit his eyes from his father. He inherited the Black family eyes from his mother's side of the family. She only knew this from the few times that she and Draco held eye contact while he taunted her.
"I haven't failed my Lord." Malfoy sneered.
"Not yet, but I already know that he hasn't been pleased with your lack of getting the Black heirs under thumb." She spoke treading carefully.
"Thats because you came into the picture, if you hadn't transferred then they you be on his side."
Dite knew that Sirius would have died before he joined the Dark Lord, he already nearly did at the hands of his mother. She also knew that Regulus would go along with it to keep his older brother safe. She also knew why the Dark Lord failed in her time to ride of Harry. He promised that he wouldn't harm Lily when Severus joined, so when the Dark Lord killed her to get to Harry. Both the promise he made and Lily's love was the cause of the Dark Lord falling that time.
"Even if I wasn't here, Sirius wouldn't have joined. And Regulus would have come to realize the horrors that the Dark Lord made."
"Enough, if I kill you here, I will be rewarded for it. Regulus will join us and take his place where he needs to be." Malfoy sneered as he began to move his wand to cast a spell.
Dite, with all the training she has had up till now in both timelines she was quicker then he was. Casting a strong stunning spell and binding charm, Malfoy hit the ground hard. She walked over to him and kneeled next to him, making sure that he wasn't to injured.
"I know you were forced to join by your father, your son would be forced to join to protect his mother. You will fall very far from displeasing the Dark Lord. You will live without a wand for nearly two years because you displeased him. The Dark Lord does not forgive those under him very well." She whispered knowing that he could hear her.
"Malfoy, I tell you this to prevent your sons and wifes suffering as I know deep down you love both of them." She said standing once again to head to her destination. The dual with Malfoy delayed her and she hoped that she got to the Hall of Records intime.
