Whenever Pooh felt confused, he would think about Sora. Sora, whom he hadn't seen in what seemed like forever. Sora, who helped Pooh when he got confused or hungry or anything else. Sora, who helped all of Pooh's friends, like Piglet when he got scared, or Rabbit when Tigger started bouncing around his garden.
Pooh missed Sora.
His friends noticed that he wasn't as cheerful, but they assumed it was because he was out of honey or something like that. And their solution was trying to find honey and give it to him. And while it cheered him up a bit - after all, it was honey - it still didn't get rid of the rumbly feeling in his heart.
And then, one day, Pooh forgot about Sora. And everyone else who was in his life. And the rumbliness was still there, but Pooh didn't know why. He assumed it was because he was hungry, and that's what he told all those "strangers." Even the big brown-haired person with the bright blue eyes that seemed so sad whenever Pooh called him "Somebody-I-don't-know". Whenever someone asked Sora, as Pooh figured out that was his name, about it, he would laugh it off and say it didn't matter, that he was sure Pooh would remember him one day.
Eventually, memories of his friends came back. Along with them, came Sora.
That night on Starry Hill, when Sora got his head out of the honey pot. That was when Pooh realized he didn't want to forget Sora again. Sora meant so much to him, and it seemed so lonesome whenever Sora wasn't with him to help him do things or explain things to him. And... well, Pooh wanted Sora to stay with him. Maybe he was being selfish, but that word wasn't in Pooh's vocabulary, and so he remained the ignorant bear he is.
"I wonder..." Pooh had said, looking at the moon. "...if maybe you could stay."
"Stay here?" Sora had replied, sounding amused and looking at Pooh.
"Yes. I would like that so very much," Pooh said with a nod, now facing Sora. The boy seemed unsure of how to reply, looking awkward.
"I'll still visit you every now and then," Sora had answered. Pooh looked away.
"How about "now and now" instead?"
Sora had promised he would visit whenever he could, and Pooh believed Sora, because Sora had never let him down before. He knew Sora would see him again. It was just a matter of time.
"He'll probably come back once something's wrong with the book," Eeyore had said in his low, rumbly way. Rabbit had snorted, arms crossed in front of his chest.
"Or if he needs something!" Rabbit had exclaimed. "Although he's been so nice to all of us. Still, it would be nice if he visited more often. Pooh always seems happier when he comes and visits..."
It was then that Pooh had walked towards them, waving off their conversation with a, "Rabbit, do you by any chance have some honey?"
Because Pooh was content with a "now and then", even if he did want a "now and now".
