As the Taxi stopped in Viridian city. Jessie got out of the taxi as she began making her way to towards Route 1. As she reached Route 1, she sent out both her Arbok and Lickitung.
"Arbok," Arbok looked around at its surroundings after being called out, then back at Jessie, seeing no danger making it confused on why he was called out of his Pokeball.
"Arbok and Lickitung. We are officially disbanded from that lousy organization, Team Rocket, and now we're free to do whatever we please," Jessie said, looking at the two Pokemon next to her.
Lickitung sighed and licked Jessie's face. "Lickitung!" [Thank you. I don't want to deal with any more Thunderbolts.]
Jessie sighed as she wiped the saliva from Lickitung off of her beautiful face. She then recalled Lickitung as she continued walking through Route 1 towards Pallet town with Arbok slithering next to her as her protection.
'I just hope Professor Oak doesn't hold any grudges from the last time I was here with James and Meowth.' Jessie thought with a sigh as she looked up at the sky that was getting dark, deciding to stop for some rest soon.
The Next day in Pallet Town...
Ash, Brock, Misty, and Tracey are gathered inside the living room of Professor Oak's place, looking at a picture of an older man on Professor Oak's computer.
"Who is that?" Ash asked.
"That is Kurt...the famous Pokeball designer," Professor Oak explained."If anyone could figure out the GS ball, it would be Kurt."
"Ash, I would like you to go to Azalea Town and take the ball to him," Professor Oak said.
"But Professor, if we go to see Kurt. Ash will miss the Johto League," Misty stated.
"No, no, no..." Professor Oak said, waving his hands and shaking his head."It won't take you out of your way, and I'm sure Ash would enjoy meeting him, right?"
"I sure would, Professor Kurt like a big celebrity!" Ash said excitedly.
"This will work out perfectly. Take the GS ball and head straight ahead west to New Bark Town, where great things await you. That's why it called that town where new beginnings blow."
The window then flew open as a powerful gust of wind blew inside.
"What do you mean, new beginnings?" Ash asked.
"New beginnings in the Johto League, of course!" professor Oak said, waving a finger. "As luck would have it, New Bark town is where all trainers have to sign up to participate and compete in the Johto League!"
"Great, we will go there first. Then take the GS Ball to Kurt in Azalea Town," Ash said.
"Don't forget I'm counting on you."
"Just leave it to me."
"Pika!"
"And don't you worry, Professor, I will be there to keep my eye on him the whole time."
"You mean you to be there to keep an eye on us the whole time. There not a pretty girl in sight," Misty said.
"Well, maybe I am a little more increased in girls than in geography!" Brock chuckled.
"Maybe just a little," Misty laughed.
"Alright, now I need to go get everything set up. A new trainer is coming today," Professor Oak said.
"There a new trainer coming today?" Ash asked.
"Yeah, you might find her to be interesting or possibly not. I believe you will run into her at some point. ," Professor Oak said, heading up to the lab to get everything set up for the trainer coming.
Meanwhile...
Jessie had returned her Arbok as she entered Pallet town and arrived at the stairs leading to Professor Oak's laboratory. She sighed as she ran a hand through her long red hair that stopped down at her back.
"Well, here we go," She said, knocking on the door.
After a few minutes, the door opened as Jessie noticed the familiar appearance of Tracey appeared at the door. "Ah, you're the new trainer that was due to show up today," He said, looking at her, feeling like something was familiar about her.
"Uh, yeah, my is Jessica Musashi," She replied, hoping the boy won't recognize her.
"Oh well, nice to meet you, Jessica; the name is Tracey; come on, let's meet Professor Oak."
As Tracey led Jessie through the halls, her heart was racing. She knows that Professor Oak wouldn't be fooled with her new appearance and possibly decides not to give her a starter Pokemon. Soon they reached a large door upstairs; Tracey opened it and called out to the Professor.
"I'm coming, Tracey," The voice of the Professor made Jessie nervous but closed her eyes, trying to keep calm after all; she was here to cause trouble; as he appeared, he looked at Jessie with furrowed eyebrows.
"Your Jessie from that organization Team Rocket, right?" Professor Oak asked with hesitation, recognizing her even with her new look.
"Huh?" Tracey's question took a better look at Jessie's face.
Jessie shot up and blushed. "Um, y-yes…I mean n-no, what I mean w-was that I-I got fired from t-them and that I w-want a new s-start of my trainer l-life that's i-it." She said, nervously struggling to keep her tough girl appearance with the Professor stareing at her.
Professor Oak looked at Jessie with serious eyes while Tracey just watched, amazed at how he kept her from doing anything just by stareing at her so seriously.
"Hmm, well, how am I supposed to trust that you wouldn't be up to no good?"
"Sir, after I got fired from Team Rocket, I spent a whole night thinking of what to do with my life now that it doesn't involve running from the police or starving to death. All I ever wanted as a kid was for a normal and happy life with my Pokemon that all. I tried so many different things but never with as I planned. So that's why last night I sent an e-application for a starter Pokemon and trainer license. I know that with my history as a member of m Rocket since I was fifteen has come for you not to trust me completely. Still, I'm telling you right now, Professor, I'm a changed teenager, and I'll do anything to make my life as perfect and normal as possible."
'Teenagers now that she dressed differently. I can definitely see that she is around seventeen, which is why she gets upset with being called an old lady. though I always felt she wasn't old.' Tracey thought, studying Jessie and wondering if she was telling the truth.
After hearing the speech, she made Oak turn around and look at Tracey, letting out a sigh of relief."Tracey..."
"Yes, sir?"
"Bring out the starter pokemon, the pokedex, and some pokeballs if you please."
Jessie smiled as Tracey ran to get the supplies. Professor Oak then turned to face Jessie again. "So, if you want me to really trust you, then how can I see that?"
The red-haired woman placed a finger near her chin as she looked up at eh ceiling. "Aha. I thought about it for a while on my taxi ride to Viridian city and decided to set out for Johto to enter the Pokemon league. How about when I win a badge? I will call and show you if you would like me to. I would have gone there instead for a starter but want to make amends here, so I came here instead."
Professor Oak nodded as Tracey came back in, wheeling the Pokemon on a cart. "Indeed, now Jessica or Jessie, whatever you prefer. I want to introduce you to the starter Pokemon for the region, even though you probably already know them from Kanto.
" Bulbasaur, the grass type," The grass Pokemon smiled as Jessie rubbed its head.
"Charmander, the fire type, " The fire-lizard puffed out its chest as Jessie scratched its head with a small smile.
"And finally Squirtle," The turtle Pokemon looked at Jessie, blushing a little as Jessie stared at it for a couple of minutes.
"I'm going to guess that you are a female, right?" Jessie asked, picking up Squirtle.
The turtle Pokemon nodded shyly as Jessie hugged the Pokemon. "Professor, I decided on choosing Squirtle."
Professor Oak nodded."Now here is your pokedex," Oak handed Jessie a purple-colored pokedex."It has all the Pokemon from Kanto to Johto in it, and here are five pokeballs to get you started." He handed her pokeballs and Squirtle's Pokeball as well.
Tracey tapped Jessie on the shoulder. "I'm, Jessie you were talking about going to Johto right?"
"Yes why?"
"Well it just Ash and the others are heading there tomorrow morning. I figured you would like to travel with them instead of by yourself."
Hearimg this made Jessie eyes widened slightly not expecting that offer."That nice and all but after everything I done. I don't think he would trust me like that maybe I be better off on my own getting to know my new Pokemon.
Professor Oak nodded. "Yes that is understand. It will be a great idea to spend time alone with your Pokemon. Head west for New Bark Town in Johto to register for the Pokemon league."
"Understand thanks for giving me a chance," Jessie said, shaking Oak and Tracey's hand as she left the lab with a smile on her face.
"You think she we become a successful Pokemon trainer all by herself?" Tracey asked.
"You never know Tracey. She might if she sticks to the promise she made, and I believe if she runs into Ash while turn, he and the others can give her guidance as a trainer," Professor Oak said, returning the Pokemon left in the lab.
Night time fell as Jessie was sitting in the forest looking at the stars hugging her new Squritle. "Now since were going to be partners. I think that i should give you a nickaname."
"Squrit, Squritle!" [Okay master what is it?]
Jessie stared at her Squritle in thought."How about the name Shelly?"
"SQURIT!" [I love it]
Jessie sat up on her pink sleeping bag and gripped two other pokeballs from her bag's side pocket. "Okay, now why don't you meet my other Pokemon," She said, throwing the pokeballs in the air, releasing Arbok and Lickitung.
"Arbok and Lickitung, this is Shelly, the new member of the family.
" Lick, itung," [Nice to meet you.]
"Ar, bok!" [Yeah]
"Squirt, Squrit, Squritle." [It's nice to meet you two]
Jessie yawned and stretched her arms, laying back down on her sleeping bag. "I take it you all said hello. Any my Pokemon time to get a good rest. First thing in the morning, we make our way to New Bark Town. So we need to make sure we have lots of energy," She said, looking at the heart-shaped locket that had an old picture of her as a kid inside of it, hugging a Staryu before drifting off to sleep, wondering how her old Staryu was doing.
