Disclaimer: Uh…I don't own any part of Full Metal Alchemist, the ever godly…Roy Mustang (a.k.a horse) But, I do own Ai and this dreadful story. I'm not too proud of it.
Orochimaru's Ojou-san: Yep, I updated. Thanks for the review and I'm terribly sorry for the untimely update. I think it came a tad later than it was supposed to.
Lord Dogma: An Austin Power's scene, huh? Nice. I bet Ed probably fell asleep in the bathroom. Poor Ai…
Lost Alchemist: Thanks for the review…though I'm not too sure if it's a compliment or an insult. But, I'll take it either way! Thank you for it. bows
"That damn bastard," Edward muttered under his breath as he left Roy's room. Something had happened there, something including bullets. But the point was, Edward was furious that Roy had appointed him to watch over the girl while searching for the Philosopher's Stone. After what Al had told him, he shouldn't be too happy about taking care of a girl who put him in a coma. Ed shuddered after remembering the experience. A flurries of rush, sound, and his memories, all passing him. It seemed like they were being sucked out and put back in out of order. He vaguely remembered what had happened before the experience.
As Ed walked down the hall to his temporary room, he spotted Al sitting with the girl. Ai, as Al said was her name, held a bird in her hand. Al was telling her facts about birds and such.
"Edward…" the girl whispered, looking up.
"Oh, Brother, you're back! What did the Colonel want?" Al questioned.
A smile tugged Ed's lips as he saw the innocent scene in front of him. After all the events that happened, Edward still wondered how his brother could remain so kind. On any normal person, they would've gone could. But, no, his brother was still happy, sinless, unlike him.
"Al, the Colonel wants us to take Ai along with us."
"Really? That's great!" Al said joyously. While Edward was in the coma, Al had gotten along quite well with Ai.
"Yeah, I suppose," Ed said meekly.
His eyes lingered on Ai for awhile. Her eyes stared at him as if they could see into his soul. It was frightening to think that a child could posses such eyes. But, wasn't she around the same age as Al? It troubled Ed's mind to think that she looked as old as a ten year old. He turned his gaze over to the window with sunlight pouring in.
"Edward…"
He turned back to see the eyes of Ai, but they didn't look so empty. He could see her emotions lingering in them before disappearing. Was he imagining it, for she was blind after all.
"What?" he snapped.
Ai looked back down, looking discouraged. Maybe it wasn't time to speak of it.
"Brother, let's go do something fun! Since you just woke up, and Ai is now joining, let's celebrate," Al suggested, hoping to lift the somber emotions in the air.
"Well, what do you suppose we should do? I mean, it isn't like there's much to see around here," Ed muttered, brushing his unbraided hair back with his hands.
"Don't worry, brother! I'm sure we'll find something," Al said, getting up and picking up Ai. They then headed out together with Ed following behind.
It was going to be a long day.
Note: Yes, I'm sorry I have updated so late. I'm lazy. Only thing is, I keep going on this site to read stories but never update. I'm a failure and one day, I will fail to write a successful story. Please, forgive me anybody who reads these long, boring memos. Doesn't anyone think Envy is so cute! huggles Envy
