"Ichika, this is all your fault! We will be late and all because you forgot to pack your stuff!" Itsuki yells while running down the street in the direction of the school. In her hands, she carried her suitcase, filled with everything she needed for the school trip. Behind her were Ichika, Nino and Miku, each with their own suitcase. The last sister and most athletic sister, Yotsuba, had already run far ahead of them to tell the teachers to wait for the rest.
"I know. I know. I'm sorry! It won't happen again, I promise!" In the distance, they could already see the school and a couple of buses filled with lots of students waiting in front of it. Finally, they had done it and before their mode of transportation had left.
When they finally arrived, the sisters gasped and breathed heavily out of exhaustion. Yotsuba, who had already arrived earlier, walks up to them with a big smile on her face. Out of all the sisters, she was the only one who didn't show a single hint of fatigue.
"You made it! When I came here, the teachers already wanted to leave but I told them to wait for you. Speaking of which, they are not happy about this and want to talk to us." Yotsuba points at one of the teachers waiting in front of the bus who looked very angry, probably due to how late they had turned up. This meant trouble.
Fuutarou, who had arrived on time, watched as the five of them got scolded by the teacher. He wasn't exactly surprised that they were late, he was sure that at least something would have to happen considering it was the quintuplets. Hopefully, arriving late would be the only incident to occur today.
After the girls had loaded their stuff into one of the vehicles, the students were told to line up and enter the buses. Fuutarou got in first, idly hoping that he would be able to sit next to Itsuki so he would have someone to talk with during the drive.
He takes a seat near the middle of the bus and waits for Itsuki to show up so he can offer the one next to him, but unfortunately, another student he didn't know sits down right next to him without asking.
It was a boy with brown hair that was gelled back so his whole forehead was visible. He wore a black jacket that wasn't zipped up and a white shirt beneath it. All in all, he looked like an image one would put next to the word delinquent in the dictionary.
Well, this definitely meant that Fuutarou wouldn't be able to sit next to Itsuki after all. Instead, he would have to spend the entire journey studying or sleeping. Sighing quietly so as to not draw the other's attention, Fuutarou beings rummaging for his notes.
"Hey, don't ignore me, dude." Suddenly the student sitting next to him speaks up loudly with an annoyed expression.
"I'm sorry?" Fuutarou replies, confused. Did this guy speak to him while he wasn't paying attention or something?
"I told you not to ignore me, man. I'm talking to you like right now." He continues and then sighs, as though Fuutarou had done something stupid. "You're Fuutarou Uesugi, am I right?"
"Yes, I am. And you are..?" He replies while wondering who this person was. He didn't know anyone in his class, much less anyone in the rest of the school, except for the five Nakano sisters. There was no possible way that he would even know this person's name.
"I'm Maeda and I'm in class 2-4." While Fuutarou was half-listening to this guy, he sees Itsuki and her sisters searching for their own seats. If it weren't for Maeda, he could have sat next to one of them but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. The five sisters take the seats at the end of the bus as he resigns himself to his fate.
"Hey, this is getting annoying, dude. Listen to me!" Maeda speaks to Fuutarou in an angry and loud voice. At this point, even the students near the duo were turning to the two of them to see what was happening.
"Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to ignore you." Fuutarou offers a half-hearted apology while shifting closer to the window. Now he had really done it. This gangster wannabe was probably going to make this ride a nightmare. He tried not to show his despair on his face. "What is it that you wanted to ask me?"
"I wanted to talk to you about something, ya know." He very nearly sighs as the other teenager continues talking as though he had not said anything.
"What is it?"
"Ichika, give me back my phone!" Nino yells at her sister even as she stretches out her arms so that Nino is unable to get back the smartphone she stole from her. "Oh come on, I just want to see who you are talking to. I bet it's a cute guy, isn't it?"
"No, I'm texting with a friend that's in the same class as I am. Now give me back my phone!" Nino yells once more, glaring at her sister who gives in and hands her back her phone. "Alright, calm down. I was just curious."
"Hey, do the four of you anything planned for this trip?" Yotsuba asks while looking out of the window.
"What do you mean? Do you not have anything that you want to do?" Itsuki asks as she turns to her older sister.
"No, not really, but I wanna have a great time with all of you and make lots of new friends. I want the five of us to have fun together so I thought maybe you wanted to do something special?" Yotsuba explains with a bright smile on her face as she turns around to face her sisters. All of the quintuplets start smiling as they hear those innocent, sincere words.
"Well, today there are going to be three different activities we can choose from. Why don't we all pick the same activity?" Itsuki suggests while looking at their itinerary.
"There is going to be a trip to a museum that has a special exhibition on the Sengoku Era. I really want to go there." Miku mumbles to her sisters, despite knowing that none of the others would want to go there as well. Still, she could hope.
"There's no way I'm going to a museum. I'm here to have fun, not to waste my time." Nino remarks immediately, waving a hand dismissively. Miku turns to the side and the small smile on her face disappears. "Nino, you're so mean."
"You know I didn't mean it like that. I just wanted to say that there are other things that I would rather do." Nino explains to her sister apologetically, not wanting them to get into a fight.
"Well, in that case, splitting up might be the better choice. If we force each other to participate in something only some of us like, then we won't have fun." Ichika suggests while looking to the middle of the bus where Fuutarou was sitting. And this way, she could maybe spend some private time with her tutor.
"That sounds like a good idea. We will have enough time to spend time with each other on the other two days." Yotsuba says while happily stretching her hands in the air. "Also, on the third day, we will have the opportunity to go skiing. Doesn't that sound like fun? I'm so excited!"
"Yeah, skiing sounds like it's gonna be really exciting. But you know what's even more exciting?" Ichika asks with a smirk on her face. "On the end of the third day, there is going to be a dance."
The other four girls instantly turn to the oldest sister. Nino seemed like the most interested one out of all of them while in comparison Miku seemed like she didn't really care. "A dance? You mean like a traditional dance where you get asked out by a guy to dance with you? And then you dance around a big fire together, hand and hand. You get closer to each other and as the dance comes to its end, he holds you tightly in his embrace, and then, in a very romantic moment, the two of you kiss..." As Nino talks, she imagines herself dancing around a big fire with a handsome, blonde, and athletic boy. But before she can imagine herself kissing the boy, she gets pulled out of her sudden daydream.
"Well, not exactly like that, but yeah, sort of." Ichika giggles. "Do you have any ideas on who you might wanna dance with?"
"Not really," Miku mumbles before she puts on her headphones. "But I don't really care. I don't know how to dance anyway."
"What about you, Itsuki? Is there someone you wanna dance with?" Ichika asks with a teasing smirk on her face. It was obvious that she was thinking about a certain someone that was just a couple of seats away from them.
Itsuki blushes and nervously turns away from her sister. "This is the first time I heard of this...so I...didn't really think about it."
"But there is someone, am I right?"
Itsuki's face was turning the same shade of red to resemble a ripe tomato and she couldn't even talk without stuttering. "W-Well...y-you know...I have...um..." Then suddenly, the two sisters get interrupted by Nino who sighed loudly and a little bit aggressively.
"I hope the two are you are not referring to Uesugi. Neither of you should be hanging out with that guy. Haven't you heard what the people are saying about him?" Nino ranted in a sharp, annoyed tone.
"You already know that the rumors are not true at all. Uesugi-kun has already proved to us that he is a good person when he helped us at the Fireworks Festival! Don't act like he is a bad person!" Itsuki shouts at her sister, who immediately raises her hands and backs off. The other students around them turned to look and see what was happening to cause her to shout. The blush on Itsuki's face hadn't disappeared, but now it was the sort of blush that indicated someone was furious.
"Itsuki, calm down. We want to have fun, do you remember? So please don't fight with each other." Yotsuba says as she frantically tries to de-escalate the situation. She didn't want her sisters to fight, especially not at a time like this.
Itsuki sighs and then takes a few deep breaths. She slowly lowers her head to the ground, deflating. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell at you. I overreacted." Why did she react like this? Normally, she would have only been annoyed by Nino's statement but instead, she instantly yelled at her…
"You really trust him, huh?" Nino questions bitterly, but before Itsuki could answer, she continued talking. "Well, I think in that case I won't bother you about it any further."
After that, the girls stayed quiet for the rest of the drive. Everyone was lost in their own personal thoughts. While Miku, Ichika, and Yotsuba were just thinking about the school trip, Nino and Itsuki were thinking about something else.
Nino still couldn't figure out why Ichika and Itsuki were so close to Fuutarou. To her, he was just a creepy guy who was pretty good at studying. What did they like about him? He wasn't even good-looking or athletic of some kind. Nino thought that it was about time they stop this nonsense and let things be like how they used to be. She wanted everyone to be happy as a family, without anyone outside said family intruding on their lives.
Itsuki on the other hand had gotten an idea. Why couldn't she just ask Fuutarou if he wanted to dance with her? After all, the two of them were pretty much best friends at this point, and spending some fun time together wouldn't hurt either of them. Also, it wouldn't be like in Nino's dream where they would end up kissing each other, right? Right?
After a few hours, the bus finally arrived at its destination. Fuutarou gets off the bus with Maeda. The two of them had been talking for quite a while at the beginning but ended up staying silent for the rest of the ride, much to Fuutarou's relief.
"Yo, see you later, dude," Maeda says as he grabs his stuff and walks back to his class. Fuutarou just nods and takes his old bag out of the fully-loaded bus before he can be caught up in the rush for belongings. As he turns around to go into the hotel, he bumps right into Itsuki.
"Oh, sorry. I didn't see you there Itsuki." Fuutarou apologizes. Itsuki shakes her head with a nervous grin on her face. "No, it's my fault. Don't worry." Itsuki explains with a slight blush on her cheeks. "So, um…who was that guy you were sitting with?"
"That guy? His name is Maeda and he's a part of class 2-4. He just randomly sat down next to me and wanted to talk to me even though we didn't know each other. He was a little bit scary at first but he seems like a nice guy. But…he is kind of annoying." Fuutarou explains while remembering the short moment he thought he had made Maeda angry by ignoring him and his life had flashed before his eyes.
"I see. What did the two of you talk about? S-Something special? Maybe the dance on the last evening?" Itsuki mumbles while playing with her hair.
"Huh? There is going to be a dance on the last evening? That's the first time I've heard about that, to be honest." Fuutarou mutters, surprised even though he didn't really care about the dance. There was never going to be a girl who would ask him out and most importantly, he was a terrible dancer. Each step meant serious danger to everyone around him while he's dancing.
"Oh, ok. So what did you talk about anyway?"
"That's…not important. How about we grab our stuff and go inside? There is not that much time left before the activities start." Fuutarou suggests as he jabs a finger at the hotel they were going to be staying in. Itsuki nods and walks inside alongside him. "What activity are you going to choose, Uesugi-kun?"
"I don't really know. I thought about visiting that old temple but the museum seems interesting too. I haven't decided yet." Fuutarou explains as the two of them walk through the aisles to get to their rooms.
"I thought about visiting that old temple and Yotsuba might want to join too. How about you join us? It will be fun!" Itsuki suggests as they arrive at the room the sisters were sharing.
"Alright, that sounds like a good idea. Well, see you two later." Fuutarou nods and then continues to walk to his room.
Itsuki knocks on the door, waiting for one of her sisters to open the door for her. The one who did so was Nino. "God, Itsuki, what took you so long? We don't have much time left!"
"Don't worry, I was just talking to Uesugi-kun for a little bit," Itsuki explains as she enters the room. Her other three sisters were also there and were in the middle of unpacking their suitcases, except for Ichika who was already stretching out on one of the beds.
Nino sighs, knowing that she would only start an argument if she commented on her spending time with Fuutarou, choosing to stay silent and continue unpacking her luggage.
"Have you guys decided on where you wanna go?" Itsuki asks as she is laying down her suitcase on the floor and then opening it.
"I'm going to go to this museum. I wanna see what artifacts of the Sengoku Era they exhibit there. Hopefully, they'll be nice. " Miku explains as she puts her last piece of clothing into the wardrobe right next to her bed.
"I wanna visit the old temple with you, Itsuki!" Yotsuba exclaims loudly while raising her hands into the air, somehow managing to cover her face with two shirts in the process.
"I see, what about you, Ichika?"
Ichika stretches her arms out and then stands up again. "Nino and I want to go to the aquarium."
"Oh, are you two interested in fish all of the sudden?" Itsuki asks surprised while putting her clothes into her cupboard.
"Not really." Ichika laughs. "The other two activities are just way more boring than going to the aquarium."
"Well, that does mean that we are separated for the rest of the day. We will not get to see each other again until dinner." Itsuki mumbles. "Yotsuba, are you ready to go to the bus again?"
"I sure am, Itsuki!"
"Well, in that case, we will leave first," Itsuki explains and pushes her suitcase under her bed so it won't be in the way for the others. Together, the two of them walk to the door. "Have lots of fun, you guys. See you later!"
The two girls walk out of the hotel, where the busses were parking, and walk to the group that was going to the old temple. The teacher who would supervise the group was currently explaining everything the students would have to know. Itsuki didn't pay much attention as she was looking for Fuutarou. He said he either wanted to visit the temple or the museum. She couldn't find him so he must have joined the other group. Itsuki sighs. She had hoped to do something with Fuutarou today.
The group enters the bus and the doors close but before the bus starts driving, a student yells for them to wait up from outside. The doors open again and Fuutarou enters the bus, looking like he was about to fall over.
"I'm sorry for being late. There was a problem with my roommates. It won't happen again, I promise." Fuutarou explains even as he continues to gasp out of exhaustion. He sits down right in the front of the bus. Itsuki and Yotsuba on the other hand were sitting in the middle of the bus.
Even though they wouldn't get to sit next to each other on the bus, Itsuki was happy to see that she would be able to spend time with her best friend after all.

Hey guy, I hope you enjoyed this chapter too.
Finally, I get to write the School Trip Arc that I planned a long time ago. I don't wanna tease too much, but this School Trip will change a lot of things.
What do you think? Will Itsuki ask Fuutarou to dance with her? Does Ichika intend to it too? What did Maruo want from Fuutarou?
You will find it out soon!
