"What the fuck is going on?" Husker seemed beyond confused. "Wait. I just remembered. I don't give a fuck."
"Selena proposed that she would lend all her aid to helping Charlie succeed under the condition that Charlie accepted. It would lead to a war against God, and give power to her chosen goddess." Alastor explained simply.
"Done!" Selena said as she teleported the group back to the hotel. "I gotta set stuff up. Give me like fifteen minutes." She bolted up to her room.
"Anybody think she's super excited?" Niffty asked pointedly.
"Different gods, huh? Whaddya know, pagans got it right!" Angel jested.
"Actually, Angel. You could argue everyone, but the atheist got it right. Even then they may be right too." Vaggie said. "I mean what if the whole god thing is based on believers or in their case non believers?" Vaggie was walking around debating this new information. Angel sat there, his brain blown away by the news.
Husker continued about his day like nothing new had happened. He went to the bar, drank his cheap liquor, and stared begrudgingly at everyone.
Alastor wondered what more secrets she kept. He saw her devour the head of that one angel. Would she devour more people? Was she a natural killer? That was all he could think about.
"Wait, hun, our anniversary party is supposed to be today! What are we gonna do?" Vaggie had snapped out of her thoughts only to ask the most important question.
"That's right! Oh no oh no oh no! We're behind schedule!" Charlie began rubbing her face. She was stressing out.
"It's alright, Charlie, I'll try to fix it." Vaggie said. "Al, get to work in the kitchen! Angel, Husk, work on decorations. Niffty, clean!"
"Ready, Charlie! Let's go!" Selena came out of nowhere dragging Charlie to her room. "Alright, she said she's ready. You'll come back when you're ready. I'm going to help with the anniversary." Selena got on her knees in front of her shrine. "Lady Neana, I beseech you. Please, open a portal and allow Charlie into your Heaven for a chance to meet you." As soon as the words were out of Selena's mouth, a portal opened leading to woods.
"Wait! Do I look alright? I'm meeting a goddess." Charlie began fretting over her appearance; her fears of the anniversary burning and crashing vanished.
"You are fine, Charlie!" Selena comforted the blonde. "She loves you as you are. All you have to do is be honest and yourself. Easier said than done, right?" She gave Charlie a wink then pushed her through the portal.
