It was only 8:45, but Emilio decided against showing up at Hermione's door twice in one day. Instead, he Apparated to his suite at the Wizarding Luxe in hopes of going to bed early and getting a good night's sleep. Emilio was just dozing off when his mobile rang. Hoping it was Hermione, he grabbed the phone only to see Ilaria Lozier on the caller-id.

Good evening mother. What can I do for you at this hour of the night? Is everything alright?

Nothing too important son. Everything is fine. That Marissa witch showed up to the house uninvited tonight because she'd seen a magazine with your photo and wanted to know if we had seen it. She asked me to give you her regards and that you should call her. Are you seeing her while you are seeing Hermione? That's not good Emilio. I'm sure Hermione…..

Stop mother. This is not a conversation I want to have at 9:30 at night, or one I care to have with my mother. There is nothing between me and Marissa. She knows that. Showing up at your door is just her way of trying to step back into my life. If she shows up again, turn her away. That's the end of it. Now goodnight mother. We'll speak soon.

Alright Emilio, goodnight. Don't be angry. I just thought you should know.

Emilio softened his tone.

Thank you for calling mother. Marissa has nothing to do with my life. Please don't worry yourself or father about something so trivial. Love you both. Goodnight.

Goodnight Emilio.

Emilio was now wide awake pondering Marissa's audacity. However, after taking a few deep breaths, he settled back down in his bed glad he had dropped Marissa when he had. The last thing, the very last thing he wanted or needed was for a witch to cause problems between him and Hermione. Not again.

A Tale Of Two Wizards Full Circle: Chapter 34

/**/

Hermione was up quite early on Friday. She showered and dressed before calling Crissy to get Scorp sorted. After laying out cold cereal with fruit, juice and toast for Scorp, Hermione grabbed a few catalogs off the dining room table and headed to the study to review the material. Having made a firm decision to remodel the largest downstairs bedroom, Hermione was on a mission hoping everything could be in place by the following Tuesday evening.

Hermione scoured the pages which featured bedroom and bathroom furnishings. She decided to leave the massive bed in the master bedroom as it was knowing even if she pranced naked in front of Emilio he wouldn't have her in Draco's bed. She respected that. However, she was going to have him somewhere, or rather, they were going to have each other somewhere. It might as well be a bedroom in her home.

By the time Crissy had Scorp bathed, dressed and finished with breakfast, Hermione had her list. She and Scorp would visit the park then head over to Magical House of Furnishings in Diagon Alley, after that, Hermione decided they would also stop in Notions & Necessaries looking for items she could use in her project.

/*/

Emilio had lain in bed until the last possible minute going back over his mother's call. After all that had been said between them, Marissa had still come out of the woodwork to try and wriggle herself back into his life. As if. He hadn't been satisfied with her personality or her actions when they were going out. He definitely wasn't interested now that he and Hermione were on the right path. Ah, Hermione. Merlin had taken her away from him and now had given her back. The past, although fresh in his mind, didn't hold water anymore. The Blood Feud or curse or whatever it was had laid him low, but he had been given a second chance. In fact, he'd been given two second chances. Both second chances were down to Hermione. His love. His life.

With the last thoughts fading from his mind, Emilio jumped out of bed and rushed to the shower. There was no way he wanted the day to start without him. He had some thoughts regarding the third levels he wanted to share with Matt and Gas. Although, knowing Gas, Emilio believed his thoughts were probably already being discussed.

With a few stray thoughts about seeing Hermione that evening rattling through his head, Emilio grabbed his wand, case and a set of robes before Apparating to MCC.

/*/

There were several messages on his desk including one from Nicholas who requested a meeting sometime that day. Emilio had his Assistant set aside time for Nicholas at 10:00 am. He imagined the very astute Nicholas realized Emilio was the Head who would be working with lower-tier managers to upgrade their companies and wanted to be right there in the thick of things. Emilio didn't mind. In fact, he welcomed the interest. If that was the case, it was fortuitous that he and at least one third level had the same thought process.

Emilio was busily strategizing on how he would go about addressing the upgrade with Malfoy Company Nicosia when Matt appeared in the doorway.

"Good morning Emilio. How is everything? I see your big brain is busily engaged."

Emilio gave his cousin a small smile. "Just getting things sorted for Tuesday. In order to impress, I'll need to be at the top of my game. I had an idea I wanted to share with you and Gas. However, you're here now. I want to assign lower-tiers to the third levels. I don't mean they will approach these companies on their own. They'll simply acquaint themselves with the companies we plan to target. We would be ahead of the game walking into a company with a full agenda. We'll look like heroes."

"That's a bloody good idea cousin. I'll have my Assistant list our lower and mid-tier companies which will then be dispersed among our third levels."

"I cannot be one hundred per cent sure, but I think we may have a wizard who is on the same wave length. Nicholas requested a meeting with me which I've set for 10:00 am. Unless I miss my guess, that's what our astute third level wants to discuss. It will be interesting to see who else steps up. Speaking of stepping up, with the three of us in Cyprus, who will you leave in charge?"

"After the big build-up you've been giving Nicholas, you sit there and ask who will left in charge? Come on my wizard."

Emilio made a slight grimace. "I am talking foolish, aren't I? We'll be leaving the remaining three in charge."

"Right in one cousin. I've drafted a schedule of duties. I know. I know. There are things they will not be able to do, which I have made clear on the schedule. If anything major occurs while we are in Cyprus, I will portkey back and leave you and Gas to finish up. I will make the schedule available to you and Gas at the same time I make it available to Adam, Richard and Ezra which will be at 11:30 this morning."

Emilio now sported a wide grin. "I should have known you'd have everything under control. Nicely done Matt. I think Nicholas may have second thoughts about going to Cyprus when you share this news."

The two wizards were chuckling over that very thing when Nicholas appeared at the door.

"Good morning Mr. Lozio, Mr. Lozier. I'm ready for our meeting sir."

"Have a seat Nicholas. We'll get started shortly."

Before he stood to leave, Matt told Nicholas he should gather the other three and meet The Heads in conference room two at 11:30.

"Will do Mr. Lozio. Thank you."

"No need to thank me Nicholas. I feel MCC has gotten the best of the bargain."

"I'm glad you see it that way Mr. Lozio, because The Fantastic Four intends to work extremely hard to push our company forward."

Matt reached out to shake Nicholas' hand. "Good man. I'll see you both at 11:30."

/*/

Emilio opened the conversation. "What can I do for you Nicholas?"

"Well sir. Adam, Richard, Ezra and myself had a discussion about mid and lower-tier companies."

Emilio listened without commenting. He had recognized straightaway that Nicholas was a force, but listening to the wizard speak, Emilio realized Nicholas would be running a high profile company within the next five years. He was just that good.

"We four want to volunteer to take on at least the lower-tier companies. Our work on those companies will in no way interfere with our normal duties. It's about being prepared if the need arises."

"Nicely done," remarked Emilio as he handed his notes to Nicholas. "It would seem we couldn't be any more cohesive if we tried."

Nicholas broke into a wide grin as he read Emilio's notes. "Not to be facetious, but great minds do think alike. Is CEO Lozio onboard with this?"

"Matt and I spoke briefly, but I believe he is firmly on board. I caution you to remain silent about what Matt will or will not do. We will all know more at the 11:30 meeting. Do you have everything in order for our visit to Cyprus? Another caution. You have been invited to accompany us to Cyprus because of your strong work ethic, however, do not let this invitation go to your head. Record what you can and pay attention. Adam, Richard, and Ezra will thank you for it. If you like, you may make copies of my notes to be handed to your colleagues after Matt's meeting. Is there anything else?"

"I don't have anything else Mr. Lozier. We'll see you at 11:30. Thank you for meeting with me."

"You're welcome. It was my pleasure."

/*/

The 11:30 meeting went just as smoothly. Matt first congratulated Nicholas on being chosen to go to Cyprus. He had then gone on to say that the remaining three would be in charge of MCC in his, Emilio's and Gas' absence with the caveat they abide by the guide he would hand out.

Nicholas went a bit pink in the face as he digested the news. True he had been chosen to go to Cyprus, but the other three were being left in charge of… everything. However, being a professional, Nicholas straightened himself right up. He was part of The Fantastic Four. No one could take that away from him.

Matt continued speaking. "As great as you feel you are, do not take it upon yourselves to do anything that isn't in the guide. Gas, Emilio or myself are only a mobile call away. I have made plans to return to London if some major event unfolds. Keep my number handy. Emilio has laid out a plan which I understand TFF has also been discussing. I'm referring to the care and maintenance of our mid and lower-tier companies. Your top level Heads are onboard with this. You will find a breakdown of the smaller companies and who will be handling each in the folder. For the moment, Gas, Emilio and I feel it's prudent for each of TFF to handle only three each. If those accounts work out, we'll have another discussion."

After Matt, Emilio spoke about travel arrangements, specifying it would be best to arrive in Nicosia on Sunday by 4:00 pm, 5:00 at the latest to get settled in. Then Gas warned the travelers they should be diligent in a foreign country no matter how welcoming the people were. He also reminded them about the Language Translation Spell nodding in turn at Ezra, Richard and Adam telling them they would be using the spell at some point in time and should familiarize themselves with it.

At the end of the meeting, everyone had a clear understanding of the part they would play and the future of MCC under The Beast Boys.

/*/

Hermione and Scorp spent a couple of hours in the park before she Apparated them to Diagon Alley where they didn't have to spend much time in Magical House of Furnishings because Hermione had her list. The proprietor who couldn't stop fawning promised to have every piece delivered before the store closed. Hermione started to correct him, but thought about it. Having the new bedroom set up before Emilio went to Cyprus was something she could live with.

She and Scorp also visited Notions & Necessaries, but Scorp who was hungry had begun to get cranky. Hermione decided she would come back another day. She couldn't be angry at Scorp's behavior. It was her fault for keeping him out past lunch and nap time.

When they reached home, Hermione took Scorp to the downstairs bathroom to let him have his pee. After washing his hands, she sat him down to a nice lunch consisting of two toasted cheese sandwiches and a glass of juice which he finished off in no time. It was almost 3:00 pm. Hermione didn't want Scorp to nap this late in the day, but her little man couldn't keep his eyes open. Planning to clear the old things out of the downstairs bedroom on the chance the furnishings were delivered that day, Hermione called for Dusty.

"Yes Mrs. Hermione."

"I want to tidy up down here. Please take Scorp for his nap."

"Me and Crissy will be tidying up if you are tired. We'll do a fine job."

Hermione smiled at the overly precocious elf. "Thank you Dusty, but I have my own thoughts on what I'd like done. Take care of Scorp. That will be enough. This time, if I need help, I'll call Embers."

"Yes Mrs.," replied Dusty with a forlorn look on her face. "I'll be getting Scorp now."

Hermione noticed Dusty's sad look but did not comment. Sometimes the elf took too much on herself. Once Scorp was safely upstairs, Hermione began clearing away then shrinking down all the old furnishings. Even if the delivery didn't arrive that day, there was no harm done. All she had to do was close the door. Nobody would know the difference. On the chance the delivery arrived that afternoon, she was ready.

Blaise had heard from Kim. He called Matt around 2:30 to inform him he had set a meeting for 4:00 pm. Now that there was a scheduled meeting, Matt was undecided. Did he really want to get back with Kim? Did he really want to be with a witch who couldn't or wouldn't respect him? Did he want to spend his evenings defending himself? The answer to all three questions was no, but….. He loved his wife. He planned to attend the meeting with a positive outlook. If he and Kim could come to some kind of agreement, he'd be chuffed to work on their marriage.

With the meeting in mind, Matt sent a text to Emilio and Gas informing them he would be leaving the building shortly to attend a meeting of personal importance, but would be back in the building by 6:30 if the meeting didn't run long.

Gas sent a return text stating he would be leaving by 7:00 to see to a few things Seana wanted done.

Emilio sent a return text as well stating he would be in the building working until around 8:00 pm.

Matt checked his case to be sure his notes from the previous meeting with Blaise were intact. He had agreed to certain things if Kim would agree to certain things. There was no way he'd go to the meeting unprepared only to hear bull shite from Kim. Matt's consensus was if she had agreed to meet with him, she was agreeable to his terms. However, this was his volatile wife he was talking about. Kim could simply have agreed to attend the meeting to give him another telling off. If that happened, his decision would have been made for him. He would go ahead with the divorce petition and get on with his life. Matt straightened his tie then headed to the lifts.

/*/

When Blaise invited Matt to come through to the private conference room, he was surprised when an unfamiliar wizard rose from a chair.

Blaise introduced the two wizards. "Matt, this is my colleague Lorenzo Barese who will be representing your wife. Lorenzo, this is Matthias Lozio. Even though it is close to 4:00 pm, Lorenzo has assured me Kim will be attending this meeting. If either of you would like a tea while we wait, I'll have some sent in."

An aggravated Matt was first to reply. "Thank you Blaise, but I'll decline the tea. There is a situation that needs to be sorted. I just want to get it over and done one way or the other. Kim's solicitor is here. Why can't we start without her?"

4:07 pm.

Lorenzo shifted in his chair. He was just about as aggravated as Matt. His client knew the time and place of the meeting, and as late as this morning had assured him she would be there. "I would rather wait for my client. I can't imagine what is keeping Mrs. Lozio. Perhaps an important matter came up in the interim. Let me step out of the room to see if I can reach her by mobile. Excuse me."

4:15 pm.

Matt was now beside himself as he addressed Blaise. "In addition to all we spoke about, this is another thing that makes our relationship so volatile. She lacks respect and discipline. I will not sit here waiting for her to appear. My time is valuable to me."

"Calm down Matt. If you want to get this settled, we'll just have to wait to find out the results of Lorenzo's call. Hopefully, Kim will be along shortly."

The two men sat in silence until Lorenzo appeared in the doorway. "My client has been held up and will not be able to get here before 7:00 pm. Why don't I take us out to dinner?"

"Thank you for the invitation, but I'll take a pass," growled an incensed Matt. "If your client agreed to meet at 4:00 pm, she should be here."

Reaching out, Blaise clapped Matt on the shoulder knowing at that moment, his client had the upper hand, but any outburst could jeopardize his standing. "What's the holdup Lorenzo? You and your client agreed to be here. Is this her way of refusing to even speak with Matt? It's 4:30. I'll give Mrs. Lozio until 5:00 pm. If she is not here by then, she will be giving up any right to challenge Matt in court."

"I realize that Blaise, and I understand Mr. Lozio's position." Lorenzo replied in a smooth, silky voice. "Mrs. Lozio didn't care to share what was holding her up, only that she would not be able to get here before 7:00 pm. If you would like to reschedule, we can meet sometime next week."

Matt started to speak, but Blaise cut him off. "My client will not be rescheduling. His wife seems to think there's no one as important as her. It's 5:00 pm. Time is up. Let's call this meeting over. From here, I will abide by my client's wishes. You may inform your client she is not to contact her husband for anything. All exchanges will go through me. Let's get this all down on paper, which you can present to your client."

Once the paperwork was signed, Blaise rose to shake Lorenzo's hand and expressed his pleasure at seeing his Italian colleague again. Matt stood to shake Lorenzo's hand as well.

/*/

When he and Matt were alone, Blaise asked what Matt wanted for his next steps.

Before speaking, Matt let out a long, deep sigh. "I know it's rude to answer a question with a question, but, what are my options? My wife doesn't care to discuss the situation. What else can I do other than go forward with a divorce filing?"

"You can think before you act mate. This is your wife we're talking about. You should exhaust all efforts. Why don't you floo to Milan and speak to her there. Spend the weekend. See what develops."

Matt rolled his eyes. "Do you think I haven't tried that Blaise? Do you think I'm here on a lark? The witch has decided that our new way of life is not the life she wants. Nothing short of me refusing to remain as Head of the Malfoy Companies will satisfy her, which is something I will not even entertain. I made a binding commitment to Draco. That's the long and short of it. If Kim will not live with me, she'll live without me. Prepare the divorce petition with all the information I've given you, then we'll proceed. I know this might not be possible, but I'd like it done as quietly as possible."

"I'm sorry it's come to this Matt. I'll prepare the documents and have them ready for your signature Wednesday afternoon. Goes without saying, I'll keep it all as quiet as possible. If you decide to take my suggestion to visit Milan, stay on your toes. Kim might not be in the greatest frame of mind."

"Thanks Blaise. I'll keep that in mind, but the next time I see Kim will probably be in front of a Magistrate. I look forward to hearing from you on Wednesday. Have a pleasant evening."

Blaise pulled out all the necessary forms thinking no matter what Matt wanted, things could get very messy.

/*/

By the time Scorp woke, Hermione had completely cleaned out the downstairs bedroom, and had come upstairs to see about her boy.

"I hope you had a good nap. Shall we practice your letters love?"

"I know my letters mum. A, B, C, D….."

"That's fine Scorp, but mum wants you to be able to put them into words like…"

"I know words mum. I know book, b-o-o-k, and mum, m-u-m. I know Auntie Seana has s-e-a-n-a. My Mela has m-e-l-a. I only know a little of Fausto, f-a-t-o, but I'm catching on real quick. Crissy said so."

Hermione was as surprised as she was proud. "You are catching on really quickly. Mum is very proud of her big boy. Can you spell dad?"

"Yes mum. I can spell dad, d-r-a-c-o."

"Oh Merlin!" Hermione exclaimed. "You are doing well, but dad is spelled, d-a-d. You spelled Draco which is your father's name."

"I love Draco mum. He got too sick to come home to see us. Now I have Meelio. Meelio can't be dad though. Draco is dad, but Meelio loves us."

Hermione sat there amazed at the logic and reasoning of her young son. Emilio couldn't be dad because Draco was dad, but Emilio loved them. A simple moment, but so emotional. Not wanting to frighten Scorp, Hermione tried her best to keep the tears at bay. However, her tears were stronger than her resolve. Suddenly she was sobbing and holding Scorp so tightly he did become frightened.

Pop. Pop.

Trembling and shaking, Crissy and Dusty appeared in front of Hermione. "Mrs. Hermione please. What you be needing? Little mister be needing the potty. Please. Embers be bringing you some tea. When Embers popped up in front of her, Hermione realized how foolish she was being. She had frightened the house elves badly enough for them to summon their elder. Releasing Scorp, Hermione wiped her face before telling the house elves everything was okay. She allowed Crissy to take Scorp from her arms before walking towards the door.

"I'll have tea later Embers. My family protecting me and Scorp. Thank you."

Still trembling, Dusty went to check on Scorp and Crissy with Embers on her heels. They didn't like it when the Mrs. had trouble.

/*/

Hermione chastised herself as she washed her face. "Could I have acted any more the arse?" Pulling herself together, Hermione put a smile on her face as she went to see about Scorp who met her midway down the hall.

"Mum." He called out, grabbing her around the legs. "Call Mela mum so you won't be sad. Okay mum? Okay? Call Mela."

"Mum's sorry she frightened her little man. There's no need to bother Mela. I'm happy now. Anyway, you'll see your Mela tomorrow remember. She's coming in the morning. Now let's see about getting you some dinner."

"Yay, dinner," shouted Scorp. "Dinner makes me happy.

Hermione laughed as she took Scorp by the hand. "Well let's go young man. It's my job to keep you happy."

/*/

It was almost 7:30. Hermione didn't want to cook anything at this hour that would lay heavy on Scorp' stomach, so she opted for a vegetable bake. Hermione had just made the last turn of her wand when the bell at the delivery entrance tinkled.

"Someone's at the door mum. Maybe it's Meelio."

"That's the delivery bell love. Our purchases have arrived. Remain where you are. I'll be right back."

It took the two delivery wizards only ten minutes to drop off Hermione's purchases. The wizards reminded her that set up was included with the delivery, but Hermione declined. She wanted to set up everything herself. With her new furniture safely in the bedroom, Hermione went to check on dinner.

"That's our new stuff, right mum?"

"It certainly is Scorp. Dinner is done. Come eat."

/*/

Emilio was still at his desk when Matt returned. Matt didn't stop in so Emilio continued reviewing the reports in front of him. Once the reviews were finished, he stopped by Matt's office to see how his bit of personal business had gone. However, as soon as he stepped through the door, it was clear Matt wasn't in any mood for a probing conversation.

"Do you want to go for a drink?"

"Ten drinks wouldn't help Emilio. I'm going to tidy up a couple of things then head for the Luxe. I had thoughts of accompanying you and Theo tomorrow while you went house hunting, but things being what they are, I don't think I'd be fit company for animals let alone humans."

Emilio was surprised by the state of his cousin. He hadn't seen him this distressed since, since Kim had physically attacked him and left marks on his neck. "I'll take it that your meeting this afternoon was with Kim. I'll also guess it didn't go well."

"And your guesses would be quite correct. I'll say this much. Blaise set up a meeting with Kim and her solicitor to discuss our situation which they confirmed. Blaise was there. I was there and Kim's solicitor was there. Mrs. Lozio couldn't be bothered to attend. There we sat making small talk waiting for her majesty who never showed. I'm done cousin. I've asked Blaise to draw up the divorce petition. I don't mean to be an arse, but I'd like to get these few things out of the way then floo home."

"Listen Matt. I had planned to stop by Hermione's, but I'd feel better if I visited with you. We don't have to talk if you don't want, but knowing you as I do, I believe you'll need to vent before the night is over. I'll see you in your suite between 8:30 and 9:00."

Matt didn't reply so Emilio went back to his office to call Hermione.

/*/

Hermione glanced at her Wonder Witch Watch when her mobile rang showing Emilio calling.

Hello Mr. Lozio. How are you?

Couldn't be better Hermione. My daily allotment is on my mind.

Hermione smiled at the mobile.

I'm wondering if I might stop by the Estate for a short bit. I had planned a longer stay but something has come up and I'll need to be back to the hotel by 8:45.

Of course you may stop by. Scorp and I have just finished a late dinner. He will be glad to see you. If you have time, we can discuss your floo and Apparation permissions which will make it unnecessary for you to call beforehand.

That shouldn't take too long. Although, for the time being, I'd rather enter through the front door, but whatever you think is best.

Hermione was getting a strange vibe from the conversation.

Is everything okay Emilio? You sound distracted. If your time is that short, why don't you plan to stop by tomorrow?

It's fine, really. I'll be there in ten minutes.

/*/

Hermione cleared away the dinner remains before giving Scorp a quick wash up and sending him to sit on the couch. She'd been in the same clothes since early morning, so she ran a quick refresher spell over herself as well. No wizard cared to get his allotment from a foul smelling witch. Smiling at herself in the mirror, Hermione gave her hair a fluffing up just for good measure. Just in time too. The bell rang, then before Hermione could blink, Crissy came through leading Emilio.

"Mr. Meelio sir is here."

"So I see. That's all for now. I'll call when I want you to come get Scorp."

"Yes Mrs."

Pop.

Scorp had been told to remain on the couch which is what he did, but Hermione could tell he was bursting to go greet Emilio.

"Hello Hermione. Hello Scorp."

Hermione said hello then told Scorp he could get off the couch. As soon as his mum said those words, Scorp rushed over to stand in front of Emilio.

"Hi Meelio. You forgot to say, your little man."

"How thoughtless of me. Hello little man. Are you being good for mum?"

"Yes. I'm being your good little man. Dinner is over."

Both Hermione and Emilio laughed.

"That's okay. I just stopped by for a short visit. I'll have dinner when I get to the hotel."

"The Luxe Hotel. Uncle Matt stays there too."

"You are right in one," replied Emilio as he gave Hermione a quick glance.

Hermione invited Emilio to have a seat, but before she could offer a word of conversation, Scorp had a few comments of his own.

"I made words today Meelio. M-e-l-a make Mela. D-a-d makes dad. You love us, but D-r-a-c-o is my dad."

Hermione blushed while Emilio sat there feeling uncomfortable. "That's lovely Scorp. Your letters and spelling are really coming along, and it is very true that as much as I love you and mum, Draco is your d-a-d, dad."

Moving his seat so he was sitting next to Emilio, Scorp had his final say on the matter. "Well, Draco can't come home anymore so now you have to be my dad. It's not hard. You just pick me up, read to me and give me kisses when you want, and sometimes a bath if Crissy is busy."

The room went dead quiet with Hermione and Emilio practically speechless over Scorp's remarks. Hermione softly rebuked her son telling him not to speak out of turn.

Finally, Emilio spoke. "Listen to your mum. That was a lot to come out of the mouth of a little man. It's best if you let your mum decide if she wants you to have another dad."

With his bottom lip trembling, Scorp whispered okay. "I want to go potty and practice my numbers. I don't want a dad."

"Don't be arbitrary Scorp. You spoke out of turn and were reprimanded. Crissy, if you please."

Pop.

"Yes Mrs."

"Please take Scorp to the bathroom, see to his pajamas then he may read or work on his numbers."

"Yes Mrs."

/*/

Scorp's comments had left something indefinable in the air. Not at all conducive to kisses and allotments.

"Forgive me if I've overstepped Hermione. It wasn't my place to respond. I believe Scorp is upset with me."

"No need to apologize. Scorp just can't be allowed to say some of the things he says. I'll speak to him."

Emilio took Hermione's hands in his. Looking into her eyes, he assured her if it ever came down to it, he would be proud to become Scorp's new dad."

"I know that, and I'm sure Scorp knows that." Hermione whispered softly. "No worries. We still have to get ourselves sorted. For the time being, he will have to be upset."

Although Hermione's words surprised him, Emilio leaned in to kiss her lips. He loved this witch, but this night, at this particular moment, he felt uneasy. He thought they had gotten themselves sorted. He thought they would become a proper couple in a few weeks. Now it seemed as though Hermione was bringing things to a halt, or, at the very least, slowing things down. Emilio knew he couldn't leave without knowing what she was thinking.

"You've caught me off guard with your words."

"I have?" Asked a confused Hermione. "What words would they be?"

"We still have to get ourselves sorted. It was my belief we are sorted and simply waiting for the right time to announce."

"You're reading too much into some letters strung together. We are sorted on that front. I was speaking of the more intimate aspects. We've never…."

It became clear to what Hermione was referring. "Do you have reservations about us becoming intimate?"

"I don't, but I'm nervous that after all this time I won't be…."

"You won't be what Hermione, satisfactory?" He whispered. "We are two adults who have agreed to try a relationship. If intimacy doesn't work the first time, I'm willing to keep trying until it does."

Stroking the back of Emilio's hand, Hermione smiled at his attempted humor. "That's a fine option."

"I've waited for you for almost eight years. There's no way this can go wrong."

"I'll share a secret. I've stated my reservations about not measuring up to your idea of me, but I have been absolutely excited over the prospect of you and I being together intimately. I cleared out the entire downstairs bedroom and ordered all new furnishings with the hope we would be getting together soon. I haven't even had the chance to arrange anything."

Emilio pulled back. This wasn't his vision. It didn't matter if everything including the walls were new. He wouldn't, they wouldn't be having sex in Draco Malfoy's home. Not under any circumstances. After everything he'd just disclosed to Hermione, he would have to reverse himself on some points. "I'm glad you've been thinking about us, but as much as I want you, we'll never have sex in this house even if we have to wait until I've purchased a home of my own."

Hermione let out a huge sigh. "I wasn't completely truthful about my reservations. The whole of it is I didn't want to make shameful advances to find out exactly what you've just shared. I understand. We will wait until you have a flat of your own."

"A flat? This COO has been advised he shouldn't buy anything less than a mansion. However, with Theo as a realtor, I'm fairly certain you and I will be in each other's arms in no time."

Hermione ran her hand up and down Emilio's arm. "Thank you for clearing this up. It's very nearly 9:00 pm. You should go see about your business."

Moving his mouth to Hermione's ear, Emilio whispered his thoughts. "Thank you for your insight Mrs. Hermione. I will be on my way as soon as you ante up the last of my allotments. I warn you to go easy as you've already stirred up the more private of my parts. Come walk me to the door."

As they came level to the den, Emilio made a quick step inside to greet Louis. Just as quickly, he stepped back out to Hermione drawing her to him. As they shared kisses, Emilio was first to step back.

"You know who is acting up again. I'll leave now so I won't embarrass you or me."

Emilio turned to go, but Hermione pulled him back for one last kiss. "Many things have changed Emilio. You know who acting up feels good. I'll be glad when we meet. Phone or stop by to let me know how your house hunting went. Have a good evening."

"You do the same. Please don't be too hard on Scorp. Much like myself, he knows exactly what he wants. Goodnight."

The time Emilio had spent with Hermione had been short but amazing. He was feeling warm, but in some way, empty. He kept going over her words as well as Scorp's, chuckling over a few things. Scorp's pout. Hermione's idea of remodeling the downstairs bedroom. Most of all, Emilio was chuckling over Hermione's worry that she wouldn't satisfy him. As if. He'd probably cum all over himself before he could even penetrate her. Not satisfying him wasn't even a consideration.

Emilio had cut his time short with Hermione so he could check on Matt, yet it was coming on 9:30. He Apparated down the one floor and knocked on the door. Everything was quiet. Emilio knocked again. An obviously inebriated Matt finally came to the door with wand in hand.

"Come in. Come in. Have a drink with me."

Closing the door behind himself, Emilio drew his wand without hesitation and cast a sobering spell on Matt. "That should do it."

Matt turned to look at Emilio before sitting heavily down in one of the living room chairs. "Thank you cousin. I guess I needed that. Who knew seven whiskeys could wreak such havoc on a man? What can I do for you?"

Not wanting Matt to think he was chastising him, Emilio spoke softly. "This isn't you Matt, and never has been. You don't even drink seven whiskeys in an entire month. I'll tell you what you've told me over and over. You work the situation. Don't let the situation work you."

"Throwing my own words back at me are you? I'm quite clever. Problem is, when you're in it personally, clever words don't mean so much. I apologize for that."

"For fucks sake Matt, stop. Just stop and get a hold of yourself. This thing with Kim is driving you spare. Fix it and move on."

"So says the man who has chased one witch for years. So says the man who….."

Emilio was getting annoyed with the always strong Matt Lozio, but agreed he had been an emotional wreck for a long time. Instead of clapping back at Matt, Emilio sympathized. "Was I this annoying? It's a wonder you didn't chuck me out on my arse."

Matt laughed. "Yes, you were that annoying, but you're a good man which made all my compassion and empathy worth it. My situation is a little different. I have the bloody witch but can't figure out how to make it work."

"I thought you had settled on divorce."

"I have settled on divorce cousin, but that doesn't make me love her any less. We have been a part of each other for six years. Suddenly, she's turned into something, someone I don't know. I'm torn. Blaise suggested I go to Milan to try to talk to her before I file. I was thinking of doing just that, but whiskey got in my way."

Emilio was torn as well. As much as he'd gone through to be with Hermione, he just couldn't advise Matt not to go to Milan. "If going to Milan is what you need to do, then do it. Don't sit here grieving for someone you haven't lost. One last try can't hurt anything. I'll leave you to yourself. Good luck if you decide to go after Kim. I'll see you Monday in Cyprus. Goodnight."

Matt had already made up his mind. All he needed was the little push from Emilio. Taking a quick shower to wash away the whiskey residue, Matt dressed to impress. He grabbed his wand, took the lift down to floor level then used their connection to floo to Milan.

Their house - his house was quiet as it should be since both occupants were spending their time in other places. The question became, where should he look for Kim? As late as it was, Matt decided to try Kim's office first. She was as much a workaholic as himself. He was in luck. Although the lights in the main office were off, light was showing in the back. Kim was still there. In the back of his mind, Matt hoped he could talk Kim into having a late dinner, after which, they could talk.

The front door was locked, but with a nicely place Alohomora, the door opened easily. Not wanting to frighten his wife, Matt called out softly. "Kim. I'd like for us to have a discussion."

No answer.

By this time, Matt was at the door to the back office which was closed. He could hear noises. Recognizable noises. Matt drew his wand and pushed open the door. Kim and the wizard who had his mouth between her legs hadn't even heard him. Matt wanted to curse the shite out of the both of them, but Emilio's voice sounded as clearly in his ear as if he was standing beside him. That is not you. Remember who you are. Instead of cursing anyone, Matt shouted every last filthy word he knew at the pair.

"You filthy bitch."

The wizard was wiping his mouth and stood to face Matt. "Get the fuck out of here before I…"

Then he either recognized Matt as the former Minister of Finance, Milan, or as Kim's husband. Either way, he ran through the door without looking back.

Kim wasn't sure what Matt would do so she began backing away.

"There's no need to back away slag. This cuckold has no intention of ruining his life by hexing his unfaithful hag of a wife. How long have you been letting that arsehole between your legs? Not showing up at the meeting makes sense now. You were too busy pushing his head into your pussy."

Kim tried to go on the defensive, but Matt wasn't through. "You dare stand there and argue while some fucker's spit is running down your legs. I don't bloody think so. From here going forth, I don't want to look at you ever again. I'll file my papers and you'll be free to push up on and spread your legs for every wizard who passes your sight. Oh, my mistake. You're already doing that. You want to be a pussy sharing slag so I'll be a bastard. This office of yours was a piece of shit hole in the wall before I put money into it. Consider it confiscated. The jewelry, your rings. You may consider that confiscated as well. If Blaise can get the clothes off your back, I'll take those as well. When I'm through with you, you'll be back to Kim Reina, the witch with nothing, and I dare you to try and stop me. Fuck you Kim and fuck what I thought was our life."

Matt was on fire. His piece of shite wife was having sex with anonymous wizards at her office. How low could a bitch go? Apparating back to the house in Milan, Matt splinched his leg he was in such a state. He landed in the living room howling in pain. A quick Accio Dittany brought the healing solution to him. The splinch was painful but not severe. Six drops of the Dittany sealed the wound closed. The wound on his leg was closed, but the strongest Dittany couldn't close the wound in his heart.

For the next thirty minutes, Matt destroyed anything and everything he found that had belonged to Kim. When he was finished, not only was the house devoid of Kim's things, but in shambles as well. Then he began pouring whiskey after whiskey speaking to Emilio as though his cousin was there in the room.

"Sorry cousin. I need these drinks. They won't help anything, but they can't hurt."

After downing five drinks, Matt summoned paper and pen to inform Blaise of what he had stumbled upon and what he would like added to the divorce filing, laying it all out in black and white.

Without thinking anything through, Matt turned the floo to what he thought was London main and stepped through. When he stepped out, he was facing Hermione's wand and three house elves standing behind her.

"What in bloody hell is this Matt? You frightened the shite out of me." Then she looked more closely. "Are you alright? Come sit down." Hermione turned to order a tea and nearly tripped over Dusty. "Please. Go back to your duties. Make sure this noise hasn't woken Scorp. Crissy."

"Yes Mrs."

Please fix Mr. Lozio a pot of strong tea and two cold chicken sandwiches. After which, you will finish whatever you were doing. Thank you."

Hermione realized Matt wouldn't need any tea. He had his head leaned back on the couch and was dead sleep. She tried to wake him, but he shook her off. When he shook her off, the letter to Blaise fluttered to the floor. It wasn't in an envelope so Hermione read it.

It was late, but Hermione did the first thing that popped in her head. She called Emilio.

/*/

Emilio was having a drink of his own as he thought about his day. When his mobile rang, he automatically checked the time. It was late. Emilio hoped it wasn't his mother with more news about Marissa. It wasn't. The Caller-Id showed Hermione Malfoy. All sorts of things went through Emilio's head in the few seconds it took to say hello.

Hermione. What's wrong? Is Scorp alright?

Scorp and I are fine, but the strangest thing has happened. Matt has come through my floo only to fall asleep on the couch.

Is he alright?

I believe he's fine except for the strong odor of whiskey emanating from his body and ripped trousers.

Ripped trousers? Matt at Hermione's house at 11:30 pm? All kind of things began to run through Emilio's head. He couldn't begin to fathom what was going on. He certainly wouldn't let his mind go back to what Kim had implied. Not that.

How can I help?

Before you think me mad for calling when I could simply have given Matt a blanket and a pillow, there's something else. I think you need to come see about the cousin.

Something else?

Yes. Something you need to see.

Emilio fervently hoped Matt hadn't done something foul to Kim. Something he'd regret in the morning.

I'll be there in fifteen minutes.
