Crazy trouble with love part 9

Eda and Luz

Series: Owl House

xxxxxxxxxxxx

We find Eda and Luz, both of them looking frazzled and dirty, Eda looking satisfied with a bag over her shoulder and Luz looking ready to pass out. "Ah, nothing like conning hill goblins, they always have the good stuff, right Luz?"

"Yeah, until they get upset." she replied, rubbing her back which cracked. "Ooh! They sure like to play rough."

"You're telling me, remind me next time not to do business in front of the house." The witch said as she looked out over the destroyed yard. "Definitely gonna have King clean this up later."

"Yeah…" Luz said as she looked around before spotting something poking out of a bush. She tilted her head and walked over, grabbing it and tried to pull it out, but it was heavier than she could lift, so she tried exerting more force. "Ugh, C'mon!"

"Luz, what are you doing?"

"I found something, but it won't budge!"

"Alright, maybe one of those freaks left something good behind!" Eda set the bag down and headed on over with anticipation. "Let me have a go, I'll lift it no problem."

"Ok.." She said as Eda leaned down and gave it a quick tug. This time she got it up easier than Luz, but nearly fell over and had to brace herself.

"Woah! Pretty heavy."

"What is i- wait...is this what I think it is?" Asked Luz when it was shown to be a large book with a spiral spine.

"If you mean some heavy book, then yes."

"No, it looks like a big scrapbook, my mom made a few before." Smiled Luz with Eda looking it over, but noticed the runes going across the covers and smiled.

"This isn't any old scrapbook, this is quite the keeper. It's a magical one."

Luz gasped and leaned in. "Tell me more."

"Well like a normal scrapbook it'll hold memories, but not photos mind you. The ones who have it can literally have their memories fly right into it, and bam! You've saved yourself time and effort. This baby could go for quite the price at my stall, especially since it doesn't look like it's been used."

"Wait...can we use it?" Luz asked quickly. "We could use it as a keepsake of all the adventures we've had."

Eda tapped her chin in thought before noticing a cold wind blow by and rubbed her arms. "Uh oh, feels like a cold front's slipping by. Let's get inside and get a fire going."

"Alright! Then can we use it?"

"Eh, why not, easy com easy go I guess." She shrugged with a smile as they headed to the house with Luz taking the book and Eda using her magic to get a fire going without burning the place down. "Hey King! We're home!"

"Great! Let's ea-"

"And now you can go clean up the front yard." She said with a grin as the small demon groaned.

"Why me? Why not Luz?"

"Because she helped me deal with the goblins while you slept." she remarked bluntly.

"And because I need to learn how to use this." Spoke up Luz trying to get the book open, but it felt like it was glued shut.

"Alright, hold your horses kid, I'm coming. And get to work King or I'll tell Hooty you want to play with him."

"Ok ok, I'm going." he grumbled heading off to grab the broom while Eda moved over to Luz with a smile.

"Care to let me do it?"

"No, I think...I almost….got it." she groaned as she strained to get it open.

"Nope, ya don't, the thing needs some blood kid, a drop from each person who wants to be in the book." Eda gently stopped Luz and lifted the book up before using her fang to bite both her finger and Luz's.

"Ow!"

"Sorry kid, nothing in life is free, everything has a price." She said as the blood dropped onto the book, making it glow. It began to float from Eda's hand as both their eyes glowed the same before translucent strands came from their foreheads and began going into the book.

"Wow…" Luz said in amazement as the book began to slowly open up.

"Yep, it's pretty cool, huh kid?" smiled Eda before sitting down as the book lightly floated back down onto her lap with Luz scooting over and biting her lip with excitement. It opened up and flipped through it's pages before stopping as several glowing squares appeared. "Oooh…"

"Yep, here entire days can play out in the matter of seconds, wanna take a look?"

"Yesyesyesyesyes PLEASE!" She spoke up in excitement right as the door suddenly slammed open with a cold gust swooping in.

"Hey Hooty! Try to keep it shut!" Called Eda.

"Sorry hoot hoot, pretty drafty out there." Spoke the owl demon shutting the door and locking it.

"Good, now then, let's see…" Eda said as she looked over the pages before pausing and grinning. "Alright, how about the time you drank my potion?"

"Oooh, now that was a funny one." She chuckled as the square began to float off the page and upwards towards them. It showed off static for a bit before the screen zoomed in to show what looked like Eda smiling at herself in the mirror, feeling up her ears and chuckling.

"Wow, I forgot having pointy ears could feel so good." Chuckled the witch. "I gotta say, this isn't too bad, not bad at all...not what I expected, but not bad."

"Careful Luz or you're gonna make that old mirror crack." joked….another Eda currently on the couch with a smirk.

"Sorry, sorry, but I can't help it, this is so weird and cool! I'm you!" called the first Eda with a grin.

"And so am I, but you don't see me touching my ears like I hit the lottery." Teased the second Eda while the first one walked over. "Besides, you were me before."

"Yeah, but not with your voice! Now I'm you in and outside."

"Yep, you are, and as awesome as I am you still owe me." She chuckled before frowning. "That potion cost me a lot of money, money that is now gone to waste since you somehow mistook it for some kind of energy drink."

Luz drooped her ears and looked to the side. "Yeah, sorry again."

"It's fine, because I have a few ideas on how you're gonna pay me back." The witch said with a grin.

"Is it chores?"

"Nope, we're gonna use that sweet body of mine to lure in some customers!" Laughed Eda.

"Right!" Luz raised up a fist.

"...you don't know what I mean by that, do you?"

"Not at all!" She cheered with a grin. "So what am I going to do?"

"Well, for starters you're going to have to change, I have a few outfits in mind that'll get us plenty of attention~" Grinned Eda deviously which Luz didn't notice."

"Sounds good, let's do this!" She shouted eagerly.

(Thirty minutes later)

"I can't do this!"

"Of course you can, it's easy." Eda said with a grin, trying to pull the new Eda out from behind a set of curtains behind the stall.

"No way! This thing shows off way too much skin!"

"That's the point! People love that kinda stuff, and I know I certainly like it." Eda said, muttering the last part to herself.

"B-B-But I've never showed off this much before."

"Hey, you agreed to this, that potion cost me a lot of money." Eda said before giving one final yank. "Now come on out and show your stuff! Or in this case, my stuff."

"Ah!" Cried the new Eda, stumbling out to show Eda in a black one piece swimming suit...and nothing else. She went wide eyed seeing the large crowd in front of the stage who murmured and whistled when they saw her. "D-Don't look!"

"Get an eyeful folks, but with every view ya gotta buy something!" Spoke up Eda with a smile. "Don't go sneaking any pictures either or else you'll get your butt kicked outta here!"

"Here, take all my money!"

"No, mine!"

"Mine!"

They started grabbing items and tossed money by the boatload with Eda easily sweeping it all up with a floating broom with Luz turning beet red.

"You're doing great Luz!" She called with a grin. "Go ahead and strike a pose, that'll really get them fired up!"

"Eda, I don't wanna be you anymore!" Ground Luz/Eda as she tried to cover herself as best she could. "I feel like a piece of meat!"

"Yeah, that happens when you got a body like mine!" Chuckled the witch. 'Damn she is rocking it though.'

Luz/Eda heard more catcalls and whistles making her feel mortified and tried running back behind the curtains.

"Oh no you don't, get back out here Luz!" Eda quickly cut her off. "You can't stop now, listen to them."

"Eda, I don't like this, I don't like standing around like this though!"

"Aw come on Luz, there's still more you gotta put on that'll drive them really wild." Eda said as she tried to urge her on.

"Well why don't you do it then?!"

"Because once again, I'm not the one trying to earn back the money for my potion." She said as she crossed her arms. "This is a punishment for drinking what wasn't yours Luz, it's not supposed to be fun."

"W-Well if you want the money then...why not join me, with two of us it would be twice the money!" She quickly brought up, making Eda cup her chin and think it over. 'Just don't make me do this alone!'

"Ya know, that's not a bad idea." She said as she began to grin. "Give me a moment to find something, just keep shaking that body and getting people to come here!"

"Wait!" She cried as Eda ran back with her turning to the crowd and tried giving a nervous smile. "H-Hi?"

"WHOOOO!" Cried the crowd as Luz blushed as the picture began to sink back into the book.

"Ugh, that suuuucked, after you left Lilith came around and nearly had an aneurysm when she saw me." Luz groaned.

"Aw relax Luz, I thought you did a great me." Smiled Eda patting the girl on the back. "Of course I would have worn something to really show off my legs, but that's just me."

"Yeah, good thing that potion only lasted a few days...oh! Remember the time YOU drank the wrong potion?" Luz snickered.

"Oh right, that sure was something." She admitted before another picture floated up with the camera zooming into it. It Showed Eda rummaging around what looked like a medicine cabinet with a sleeping mask on, with the witch groaning and yawning.

"Come on...where is it?" She groaned as she felt around before grabbing a vial in the shape of an hourglass. "Here we go, the sleep potion." she took the cork off and poured it down her mouth with a sigh of relief before tossing it aside and dragged herself back to her nest. "Sleeeeeep."

(Later)

"Eda? Are you in there?" Called Luz knocking on the door. "It's almost noon, are you ok?"

"Ugh, I'm up, I'm up…" Responded a young sounding voice, making her pause.

"Are you feeling ok?"

"Yeah I….HOLY WITCH SACK!"

"Eda?!" Luz cried as she burst in, only to gasp in shock at the sight of a young orange headed witch she recognized from pictures Eda had shown her. Said witch was staring in the mirror with wide eyes and horror.

"I...I….Luz! Look at me!"

"You're young!" Luz crid, looking at her in amazement. 'And...kinda cute too.'

"I know!" Eda looked herself over with her sleep shirt drooping down her arms. "Is this some dream? Luz quick, slap me."

"Eda, I don't-"

"Do it!"

"Fine, I'm sorry!" She cried as she slapped Eda's face.

"Ow!" Eda held the spot and rubbed it, looked back in the mirror, and grinned. "It's not a dream, you know what that means Luz?"

"You don't need me to slap you?"

"It means all those annoying issues with being old is gone!" She laughed and jumped up and down, cheering. "Oh yeah! I feel better than I have in years!"

"Wow! How did this happ-"

"Who cares! I'm young now!" Grinned Eda. "Come on Luz, time to paint the town red! Now that I'm young, it means those wanted posters ain't gonna do a thing."

"Ok, if you say so, let's go have some fun!"

(Later)

"Eda...why are we at a restaurant?"

"To eat out to celebrate my new youth of course." She said with a grin.

"Ok…. but can we afford this place? It looks kinda fancy."

"Of course Luz. I might not live like a queen, but I know how to save up money." She said with a grin. 'Time for a date!'

"Ok, let's head on in then." Smiled Luz as they entered the restaurant, looking every bit as fancy as the outside. "Wow, this place is incredible!"

"Ah, you two, you must be the new girls we ordered for the kitchen, yes?" Called a tall woman in a fancy black dress.

"New girls? Tch, yeah right." Eda scoffed with a smirk. "We came here to stuff our faces. Table for two."

"Ah, my mistake, do you have a reservation?"

"Nope."

"And you just expect a table…."

"Yeah, because we're young!"

"Uh-huh…." The woman raised an eyebrow while looking unamused. "Sorry, but we're all booked up."

"Aw come on! Give us a table!"

"Eda, they're booked, we should g-"

"No, we are not leaving!" Spoke Eda firmly with a frown at the lady. "Look here lady, we came here to stuff our faces, and we ain't leaving until we do, got it?"

"The only way you two are stuffing your faces here is if you're being prepared as the main meal, now leave or else."

"Or else what, ya old hag?"

"Old hag?! That's it, if you two don't leave right now you'll regret it!" She growled angrily.

"Ha! I've been told that so many times it doesn't work, you ain't nothing special." Smirked Eda with her arms crossed.

"Fine, you asked for it!" Growled the woman as she reached into her cleavage and pulled out a strange device that looked like a toy used for making large bubbles. "Last chance, leave or I'll ruin you two!"

"Bring it on ya hag!"

"Uh Eda? Maybe we-"

"I warned you!" She growled as she began to mutter, the device starting to glow before she swung it towards Luz and Eda.

"Look out!" cried Eda quickly moving in front of Luz. She braced herself as a strange wave of magic rolled out towards them before hitting them and coiling around them like a bubble. "Huh? Bubbles? I said give us your best ya half rate witch!"

"Eda, please stop antagonizing the witch!" Spoke up Luz as she tried to pull Eda away. "Let's just go back home."

"Oh I would say it's too late for that! Get ready to be cursed!" The woman laughed as she snapped her fingers, making the bubble around them shrink as Eda froze.

"W-Wait, curse?! Oh no, no no no, I just got rid of the last one!" she spoke as she tried to push the bubble away, only to scream when she got a shock and saw claws start forming on her fingers as the bubble kept shrinking. "No no no no no!" She cried as orange fur began to glow all around her.

"Eda, what's happening?!" Cried Luz scooting closer to the girl as she felt part of her arm touch the bubble and cried out before seeing brown feathers sprout on her skin.

"You two want to come into my place and cause a fuss like a pair of demons? Then become a pair of demons!" Laughed the woman as Luz and Eda cried out when the bubble glowed and popped, covering both in a glow as they let out monstrous cries. "There! Now scram or I'll make you part of the establishment!" She laughed as the glow began to die down to reveal two small demons.

One of them having orange fur, standing on all fours, razor sharp teeth and claws, with a tail swaying from it's rear.

The other covered in brown feathers with four wings and a pair of small talons for feet, three tails poking out of it's rear and large, scared and confused eyes.

The woman walked back inside with Eda looking at her body, staring at the claws and fur with shock before letting out a growl and roared out in anger and frustration. "DAMN IT! Five minutes of being young and suddenly I'm cursed again!"

"Eda! I have wings!" Luz let out while flapping the wings in worry. "Am I a bird? Do I have a beak? Am I gonna have to eat worms?!"

"No, you don't have a beak, you might be uh….ok, so you're part bird, but you also have tails I guess?" Eda said with a shrug. "I'm just gonna take a wild guess and say I look like some cat don't I?"

"Kinda? Ok, yeah, you look like a cat, or at least a feline." Luz said with a nod.

"...Eh, at least I can still think, so it's a step up from the last curse I was under." Eda said with a shrug. "Come on, might as well head home now that our whole day is ruined."

"Ok… can you fix this Eda?" Luz asked nervously.

"Yeah, probably... I think?" She replied as she walked down the road with Luz trying to keep up on the talons, albeit with difficulty due to the change in weight distribution. 'Damn it, there goes my chance to go on a normal date with Luz.'

"Ugh, could this get any worse?" Luz groaned.

"Careful, saying that around here is just begging for a jinx." Eda warned. "If you're not careful next thing you know some weirdo could kidnap us for a pet store, or King might fall in love with one of us, or that crazy lady who cursed us could come change her mind about letting us go."

"Shutting up now." Luz said quickly, imagining everything that could go wrong. "Why's everything so dangerous here?"

"That's life for ya." Remarked Eda, looking down as they managed to leave the outskirts of the town before stopping and closed her eyes. "I'm sorry Luz. I just wanted to treat us to something nice for once, but then I had to go and open my big mouth."

"Huh? Eda, it's ok...I mean, I'm kinda mad, but still… thanks, and hey, it could be worse?" she spoke moving over to her side and tried putting two wings on her mentor's back. "I understand why you did it, you just got a little caught up, but that's just you being you."

"No, it's not ok, I was your age, we could hang out without things getting weird or people assuming you're my kid, or I kidnapped you to make soup out of you, and now it's ruined!" growled Eda closing her eyes and feeling close to tears. "Now we're both demons and can never go back to normal…"

"Hey come on! Don't get down." Spoke Luz trying to hug Eda with all wings. "You're Eda, the owl lady, the most powerful witch in all the Boiling Aisles. If anyone can break this curse, it's you."

"Please, I couldn't break mine for years, heck I don't even know if the old one is gone, I'm just assuming it is since I'm young again." She shook her head. "What's the chances of fixing this one?"

"Because I believe in you, that's what!"

"...really?"

"Yeah! You're Eda the owl lady, I know you can do this!" Smiled Luz rubbing her cheek against hers, making Eda feel her face heat up under the fur.

"I-If you say so, but I think I might need some more encouragement~" She said as she rubbed Luz back. "Maybe we could take a nap when we get home, we can use my nest, it's got plenty of room."

"Sounds good to me, I think I'll be needing a nest anyway." Luz said with a smile.

With that they resumed walking before the image went to static and showed the image going back to the book with both smiling.

"If my own curse timed out like that, I wouldn't be much of an owl lady."

"Who knew the cure would pass after a night? That lady got me scared when she did that. Now I can never really see her as all that scary again." chuckled Luz.

"Nah, she can still be pretty scary, imagine if she cooked us after changing us." Eda chuckled as Luz paled. "This book is pretty fun Luz, good call on using it."

"No problem, oh! Remember that time we swapped bodies?"

"Oh god, which time, the mental one or when you messed with our heads?" Eda laughed.

"Hey, that head one wasn't entirely my fault and you know it."

"Oh yeah? Let's see if we can't find that particular memory and see who's right?"

"You're on." Luz said as she began to flip through the book before stopping with a grin. "Here we are! Get ready to be wrong!"

"You mean you." spoke Eda as the picture floated up and started playing.

We see Luz looking through a stack of books as she frowns. "C'mon, how does she do it, how can she just lose limbs and put them back on like nothing? I wanna do that!" She grabbed one and opened it, only for it to roar at her and start snapping at her with teeth. "Ah! Wrong book!" before quickly stuffing it back onto the shelf. "Maybe… this one!" She said as she grabbed another and opened it, only to pause for a moment, turn bright red and quickly close it. "W-Wrong book!"

"Luz? Are you going through my stuff again?" Called Eda. "Be careful, I got some personal stuff in there!"

"O-Ok Eda! Just doing some dusting!" She called, sliding the book away before looking around before spotting a new book. 'Bingo!' She picked it up and slowly opened it, making sure there wasn't any...pictures in it, or teeth. She looked in it before grinning as she saw a diagram of a witch split in several parts. "Yes, this is it!" She sat down and tried to read the text for any instructions on how to make it work. "Ok...so I tattoo glyphs into my body to make the changes permanent...ok, so I'll just draw them for now and wash them off if I don't like it." Luz said to herself as she kept reading.

With that in mind, she went off and found a quill, got some ink, and carefully got to work on drawing the glyphs across her arms and legs. "Ok…. so it goes like this…. Different glyphs for each body part? Neat! Ok...and….done!"

With that she looked back at the book and cleared her throat to start reading while Eda herself was coming towards the room.

"Luz? Hey, me and King stole some cake, do you want some?"

"Not right now Eda!"

"C'mon, it's the good stuff~" She called as she began to open the door, only to find Luz there...without her head. "AAAAAHHHHHHH!"

"Eda! It's not what it looks like!"

"Humans can't do that!" She cried, only for Luz to turn around to reveal she was holding her head. "Luz, what happened?"

"Hey Eda, I found a way for me to recreate the limb and head thing you do, where you can lose body parts and put them back on!" smiled Luz with Eda going slack jawed and face palmed.

"Luz? How did you do that?"

"I followed the instructions from one of your books." She said as she held her head with one hand and grabbed the book with the other. "See?"

"And why didn't you just come to me directly?"

"Well, I wanted to see if I could figure it out on my own?" She smiled. "And look, I did it!"

"Damn kid, you did...hey, let's have some fun with this." She said with a grin as she detached her own head.

"Really? What kind?"

"Simple, it's an old game me and my sister use to play, swapies, I take one of your body parts and you take one of mine and we pretend they're ours while the other person controls the body part." Eda said with a grin.

"So you mean like we swap our heads?"

"Yep, but we can do other limbs too, but since your head is already off we might as well start with that."

"Ooh, I like it!" She said with a grin as she handed Eda her head and took the old witches head. "So do we just put them on?"

"Yeah, they should just rest, not really fused, ya know?" Eda said as she put Luz's head onto her body.

"Ooh, this feels kinda weird." Luz said as she made her body put Eda's head on.

"Yeah, your head is so small, my neck feels weird." She remarked looking downward. "Wow, your body looks smaller than before."

"Hey, like you're one to talk, your body looks so big now!" Luz chuckled as Eda made her body feel around Luz's neck before feeling something wet.

"Huh? Hey, something's off here." She said as she made her body feel around the wet spot before Eda and Luz froze, feeling a huge headache all of the sudden.

"Uh Eda? What's going on?" Luz asked, rubbing her head before freezing as she realized she just made Eda's hand rub her head. "Eda….is it normal that I can move your body?"

"No, no it's not." She said as she tried to make her body move, only to move Luz's. "Luz….did you follow the ritual correctly?"

"Yeah, I did!" She said as she looked down at Eda's hands, only to see ink on them. "Uh Eda? Why is there ink on your hands?"

"Ink? Wait...that wet stuff on the back of your neck, that was ink?!"

"That was the glyph, I drew it on th-"

"You didn't Tattoo it?!"

"No! I wanted to use ink so if it didn't work I could wash it off! I've never gotten a tattoo before!"

"Luz, I just washed off the glyph, the spell was broken, and the bodies fused with the body parts that were attached!" Eda cried out as she tried to pull off her head with no luck.

"What?!" She cried as she tried to do the same, but it wouldn't move. "Eda, how do we fix this?!"

"Calm down, it's not permanent yet, we just have to look at the book and redraw the gly-"

"Hoot hoot!" Spoke up Hooty whose head stretched into the room. "Hey Eda! Hey Luz!"

"Not now Hooty, we're in the middle of something!"

"Ok, I was just looking for something to eat- oh look, BOOK! NUM NUM NUM!"

"HOOTY NO!" Eda and Luz cried as they turned around to see the owl demon tearing the book apart in a flurry of neck movements. "NOOOO!"

"Hoot hoot! I am an agent of chaos!" He cheered with both of them open mouths.

"Hooty...why….." Luz said, looking at the destroyed scraps of paper in shock.

"I thought it was a bug! Hoot hoot!" He let out with Eda facepalming, hard.

"Hooty, I'm gonna kill you!"

"Hoot!" He let out before slipping away as Eda took off after him.

"Eda, wait, how do we fix this?!" Luz cried, trying to run after her only to trip, unused to the new height and heels. "Ooof! Ow!"

The screen went static with Eda and Luz looking at the door.

"Hooty, still mad at you."

"I said I was sorry a bajillion times already! Gosh." He groaned. "You got your heads back eventually!"

"Only after my curse kicked up! Luz was stuck with my cursed body changing and I was running around on her body with my monster head!"

"On the upside, it was pretty cool to be bigger than small." smiled Luz. "So it's not like you went around causing too much damage."

"Speak for yourself!" yelled out King. "I was almost a chew toy!"

"Oh please, you were fine you big baby." Eda said as she rolled her eyes. "And get back to work cleaning up the front yard!"

"I am!" he huffed while Luz chuckled.

"Look on the bright side Eda, King DID help us after….uh...THAT...time."

"Which time?" asked Eda before Luz turned red and looked away with a cough.

"You know, about the...demon."

"The….oh no, god, don't remind me!" Eda groaned, her face heating up.

Too late, as another box rose up and showed static before it showed Eda trying her hardest to hit at something that was scouring around the kitchen, looking like a pink blur.

"Hold still you little pink shit!" She yelled out while smashing several plates with her staff while Luz ran down with a bucket.

"I couldn't find a jar Eda, so I grabbed this!"

"Good enough, now get ready to catch it!" She ordered before forming a magic circle and sent out a small fireball, making the blur dart from under the table and towards Luz. "Now!"

"Got it!" She called as she dived down, slamming the bucket down in hopes of catching the small blur. "Gotcha fella!"

"Phew, what a work out." Sighed Eda wiping at her forehead as she walked over. "I don't know what this thing is, but whatever it is just became dinner, I'm peckish."

"I am not food you old bat!" Came a squeaky voice from under the bucket followed by scratching sounds. "Let me out of here or I'll chew your ankles off!"

"Quiet down, you broke into my house so you lost the right not to be food!"

"Eda, if it can talk we can't eat it!" spoke Luz crouching down to try and peak under the bucket. "Hi little guy."

"I'm a girl!" Let out the creature taking a swipe near Luz.

"Ah! Sorry! I mean, sorry little girl, are you ok?"

"I'm in a bucket, what do you think?"

"Well to be fair, you DID kinda...sneak in and start making a mess of things."

"Let me out now and I will leave without cursing you all!"

"Not happening, put her in the soup pot Luz!"

"Eda, you're not helping." Groaned Luz.

"That's it, you are all getting cursed!" Yelled the creature before the bucket came flying off, revealing it was a tiny pink furred imp with a heart shaped tail.

"Take a number shorty, someone beat ya to it." Remarked Eda dryly while nudging the thing with her staff. "Either get in the pot or get out."

"Oh, trust me, I will, but first….MAGIC DUST!" She cried, opening her hands to release a strong spray of pink smoke into the room.

Eda and Luz started coughing when it hit them, giving the creature time to scurry to the door and opened before letting out a victory laugh.

"Enjoy yourselves, because you'll never go back to normal again!" before darting out of the home.

"Ugh, stupid demons, always so annoying." Growled Eda as she waved her hand in front of her face.

"Aw come on, King's one and he's not annoying, he's fluffy."

"Sorry to burst your bubble kid, but he's annoying, but he's also endearing." Eda said as she began to cough. "Ugh, I think I inhaled some of this pink stuff."

"Me too." Luz coughed and went over to open up the window to air it out and rubbed her eyes before blinking. "Hey Eda, what should we...make...for...din...ner?"

"How about….ham?" Eda said, staring at Luz as if in a trance.

Both of them just stared at the other, their eyes glowing pink with Eda dropping her staff and feeling like their bodies felt warmer and their heart beats went by faster.

"Eda….."

"Luz…."

"I LOVE YOU!" They cried out, running over and hugging each other.

"Oh Luz, let's never be apart again!"

"I wouldn't dream of it!" Luz cried dramatically, hugging onto her for dear life. "Let us get married, I cannot bear not being with you anymore!"

"That sounds wonderful!" smiled Eda right as King walked into the kitchen, before stopping.

"Uh...Eda? Luz? What happened here?" he asked when he saw the mess around the kitchen. "And why are you two hugging like that?"

"We're in love King, and we're going to get married!" Eda cried out, hearts in her eyes.

"Say what?!" He cried out before shivering and covered his mouth when he saw them rub their cheeks together with hearts floating above them. "I'm gonna be sick."

"Oh Luz, I should have married you the moment I saw you!"

"How could I not fall for you at first glance at Eda? Your amazing personality, awe inspiring magic, and the look you have when you change? Breathtaking.``

"Come, I just want to stare at you all day my love~"

King covered his mouth and ran over to the trash can, losing his breakfast from all the mushy stuff. "Nasty! Disgusting, you two are sick, sick!"

"Aw shut up King, just let me and my lover be happy!"

"How are you two lovers?!"

"We've always been lovers, we just didn't realize it!"

"You two are being weird!" He cried out covering his eyes and shaking his head. "I don't like sudden changes!"

"Well get used to it, because this is us, and this is how we are, we are in love!"

"Since when?!"

"Since that little pink demon was here." smiled Luz while Eda tickled her sides making her giggles. "Hahahaha!"

"Wait, pink demon?" he raised an eyebrow. "What did it look like?"

"Well, it was pink, it had a heart shaped tail and it had tiny cute wings."

King's eyes widened before Eda picked Luz up in her arms. "That's it!"

"We're gonna go out and find some dresses for the wedding King, we'll let you know where the ceremony is gonna take place."

"No wait! You don't understand!" He cried out as he followed after them and tried pulling backwards on Eda's clothing, which just dragged him. "You aren't in love, you've been infected by the love demon!"

"King don't be so silly." Smiled Luz while looking right in Eda's eyes. "I feel like I'm in love, and not sick, so it must be true."

"No, you are, just wait 4 hours and it should wear off!" He spoke before getting in front of Eda and spread out his arms. "I can't let you leave!"

"King, don't make me do something you'll regret, I'll make Hooty play with you if you don't let us pass." frowned Eda with King gulping.

"I-I can't do that Eda. If you go through with this, you'll regret it, trust me on this."

"King, don't make me send you to that demon daycare." Eda threatened. "Now step aside so me and my love can make our love a day none will forget."

"Eda, Luz, please, just listen to me...um...wait! Wouldn't you prefer a big, romantic wedding rather than a quick wedding?" He quickly asked with Eda raising an eyebrow. "I mean, it only makes sense or else it won't be such a big deal, right?"

"King, we just want to be together as soon as possible and as fast as possible."

"But you two ARE together right now, right?"

"Yes, but we want to be CLOSER!"

"And what could be closer than a huge romantic wedding? If it's quick, no one will come by and see you two as an official couple, but if it's' a big one with more thought put in it, then everyone all over the Boiling Isles will know."

"Hmmmm… but what if I don't want one, what if I just want to get it over with?"

"Oooh Eda, that actually sounds amazing!" Beamed Luz with a smile. "I've always wondered what a wedding full of every person imaginable would be like!"

"Well, if it's what you want sweetie then we can give it to you." Eda said quickly. "Whatever you want sweetie, it's yours."

"Oooh Eda, you're so nice." Smiled Luz as they rubbed noses together with King covering his mouth.

"Look, how about I go ahead and spread the word, and you two take your time and work out the decorations?"

"Good call King! Come on Eda, let's get ready for the happiest day of our life~"

With that Eda skipped off with Luz in her arms while King blew chunks against to the side and wiped his mouth with Hooty blinking.

"Wow, those two sure seem off today. Is that just me?" He asked as the screen began to go to static as Luz and Eda groaned.

"Ugh, I remember waking up the next day with you, it was so humiliating!"

"I thought stuff like that happened only in soap operas my mom likes to watch." Spoke Luz looking aside, but blushing and not looking disgusted.

"Yeah, ugh, what was I even saying, we were acting like an old married couple the entire day! I shoulda eaten that stupid demon." Grumbled Eda while clearing her throat and looked away. "So...who wants to look at another memory and change the subject?"

"Yes! Uh...what about an early one from the first few days we were together?"

"Perfect." smiled Eda as the next memory floated up and started playing.

It showed Luz looking around the owl house in amazement as she started touching everything.

"I still can't believe magic is real, is this a magic item? Or is this?"

"No, that's just a normal towel." Eda called with a yawn. "Not everything in this house is magical, kid."

"Oh! What about this?" She picked up a vase. "Is this some sort of ancient vase that contains a spooky ghost?"

"No, I stole it from my sister's house and it's in my christmas card every year just to piss her off." chuckled Eda. "The fact she makes is a riot."

"Ok...what about this?" Luz asked as she set down the vase to pick up what looked like a jeweled chest. "Is this filled with some vast and ancient riches?"

"No, it's where I keep my spoons. Look, Luz, I get you're excited, but I'm not just gonna keep magic items lying arou-"

"What's this?" Luz asked as she picked up a small yellow amulet that resembled the one on Eda's dress.

"Luz no!" cried out Eda before the amulet glowed and made Luz do the same. "Drop it!"

"Huh?" She said, trying to let it go but it seemed stuck to her hands as she began to glow. "E-Eda, help!"

Eda moved over and tried to pull it from Luz, but it held on firm. "Come on, come off, come on!" She cursed as Luz began to feel herself feel strange as she felt herself moving towards Eda.

"Eda? Something's wrong!"

"I know, you grabbed the wrong amulet kid!" Eda cursed. "No one should touch that, it helps me leach a small amount of magic from the owl house, it's harmless as long as none directly touches it!"

"Sorry!" she let out before suddenly finding her whole body pressed up against Eda's, making her blink and look up at the woman. "Uh, Eda?"

"Crap! This is what I was afraid of." Eda cursed as she tugged harder. "Kid, please don't freak out, ok?"

"Why can't I pull myself away?" she asked as she tried to pull back, but wouldn't budge. "Oh no."

"Luz, listen to me and do NOT freak out."

"Eda, what's happening, answer m-" Luz started, only to gasp as she found herself unable to talk.

"You're stuck to me." Remarked Eda with a deadpan. "And it's about to get worse kid, the amulet helps me absorb magic, so if anyone touches it I absorb them, but I don't know what it'll do to a human."

'AHHHHHHHH!' screamed Luz in her mind.

"The good news is I might be able to fix it, ok? Just...don't freak out over what happens next." She said as she felt Luz pressing closer to her, having a good idea of what's going to happen next. 'Great, first day with the kid and I'm gonna end up traumatizing them.'

'What next?! Oh gosh, I'm freaking out and can't convey it with my mouth!' She thought before she began to feel strange and let out a silent gasp as she felt herself starting to enter Eda as the witch's gem began to glow. 'EDA HELP!'

"Ok kid, just relax, this is gonna feel weird but I think I know how to fix this but...it'll take time." Eda said nervously.

'Time isn't something I have right now!' She thought as she felt herself get smaller as she kept entering Eda. 'Please, just make it stop!'

"Just remain calm and trust me, you'll be ok." Eda said as she looked down at Luz. "I promise I'll be able to fix this, ok?" She said as just Luz's head was as it began to sink in.

'Ahh-' She thought before disappearing completely inside the older witch.

"Ok, just hold on Luz!" Eda said as her dress began to ripple and change. A design that resembled Luz showed on her dress. '...ok, if it wasn't Luz I might keep her like this, she makes for a nice dress.' Eda thought before shaking her head. "Focus Eda, now is the time to get her out." She said as she raced off to find an answer before the screen once again turned to static.

"Wait THAT's what happened to me?!" Luz was wide eyed with Eda looking away while tapping her fingers.

"Yeah, I guess when I absorb a human they're still visible on me… if it makes you feel better you made for a great dress."

"I was inside you?! I was a dress?! Oh my gosh! How do I not remember that?!"

"Your mind was pretty fuzzy once the process was over, usually the amulets are used as a punishment, or a way to steal witches power, so it wasn't made to have their minds awake and active when absorbed."

She went still and wide eyed. "I will never be able to forget that now. It will forever scar my mind until the end of time."

"Ah calm down, you're fine now, aren't you?" Smiled Eda patting the girl's head. "You came back out in one piece and exactly the same. But I can't say the same for the time you went through that weird change."

"Wait, Eda, no, please don't bring that up!"

"Would you rather stew in the memory of you going in me instead?" she raised an eyebrow.

"...no." She said with a small pout.

"Good girl."

Luz blushed as the next photo came up and played, showing off Luz's sleeping bag, but it was curled up with the curtains closed, with the door getting knocked on.

"Luz? Come on Luz, you can't stay in there all day." Eda called, knocking again. "You can't stay in there all day kid!"

"Can too Eda! I don't wanna be seen like this!"

"Kid you look fine, now come out or I'm coming in!"

"Nuh uh!"

"Yeah huh, now open up!" spoke Eda making a magic circle before causing the lock to come undone and walked inside. "Now get out of that bag."

"Nuh-uh, this is my new life now!"

Eda sighed before going over and started to unravel it, but Luz kept the top closed. "Don't make me burn this thing!"

"...Fine, I'll come out, but I'm not leaving the house!" She huffed before poking her head out, only to show she had black furry ears, noticeable fangs poking out from her mouth, slitted pupils, and whiskers.

"Aw come on Luz, it's not that bad, in fact you look kinda cute." Eda said with a smile.

"Edaaaa, you're not helping." whined Luz looking away. "I can't go out there, now that I'm part cat demon."

"Of course you can Luz, you're no different than befo-"

"Yes I am!" she cried out with a hiss. "I do all the cat stuff, get easily distracted, and King keeps flirting on me because he keeps forgetting it's me!"

"Come on, we just need to get his head right and it'll all be fi-"

"It's not just that, everyone else acts weird too, heck an old lady tried to take me home to be her pet before you stopped her!"

"...ok you got me that, but look at it like this. At least when people see you they don't freak out. Plus you can stay in control." Eda said, trying to be helpful. "It's a walk in the park compared to my curse, you know that."

"Yeah, and your curse is even worse now! Remember what happened when your cursed form saw me?! It treated me like a baby!"

"Is it my fault you look more cute than normal?" she asked casually before going wide eyed, along with Luz, before clearing her throat. "Point is! You're going outside and not staying here all day, you need sun."

"No I don't, and I'm not leaving until there's a way to fix this!"

Eda sighed and shook her head. "You forced my hand. King! Get in here!"

"No, I'm busy!"

"Luz is in here~" Eda called with a grin.

"I'm coming!"

"Alright Eda! I'll go out for some sun!" Luz cried as she took off running to the door.

"That's all I ask. False alarm King!"

"Awww."

The memory ended with Luz crossing her arms with a pout with Eda smirking.

"Not cool Eda, not cool."

"Yes it was cool, you needed to get outside Luz." Eda said as she ruffled her hair. That's when the same ears popped up, making Luz blush and quickly pull her hood over her head. "You forgot to drink your potion, didn't you?"

"Maybe...I thought it was thursday, not friday."

"Hmm, that must be the real reason you wanted us to stay inside, an excuse just to snuggle." Chuckled Eda making Luz blush brighter.

"N-Next one!"

Eda snickered before the next one started playing, but when it did she lost her smile and groaned. "Oh great, THIS one."

"Oh yes, finally!" Luz said with a sigh as it started. It showed Luz herself smiling and bouncing on her feet with a wide grin.

"Yes! Finally, I can't wait to get my own palisman!"

"C'mon kid, you don't even know if this'll work, you're using your glyphs instead of the regular way."

"It's better than nothing." She said with a grin as she held up the paper and a blank staff. "All I have to do is activate the glyph and it'll work! We could have done this inside, but you insisted we go into the woods." She said with a huff.

"Hey, if this backfires and explodes I don't wanna spend the whole day fixing up the house."

"And it would hurt me, a lot!" Chimed in Hooty.

"Yeah, well, go ahead and do this Luz, let's see if it works."

Luz began to write down a magic glyph on several pieces of paper, setting them up to align in one huge glyph underneath her. "Ok, and if I'm right all I have to do is put the staff in the middle of the glyphs and I should create a palisman!"

"Then go nuts kid."

Luz took a deep breath and held her staff before putting it in the middle. "Ok...here we go." She said as he carefully stepped out of the ring of glyphs and began to gently tap them. They all began to glow together, lighting up the area as the staff began to do the same.

"Yes, yes, it's working!" Luz squealed, only for the wind to begin picking up. She braced herself while Eda wasn't watching and looking through a magazine, not noticing one of the glyphs flying over and landing on her shoe. "It's working, now for the last part!" She said as she pulled out one last glyph and slammed it on the ground with the others.

BOOM!

The whole place shook from the explosion, kicking dust up all around. Luz shielded her eyes as a few small bits of dirt hit her before lowering her arms carefully, curious and nervous about what she would see.

"Please let it work, please let it work." She said as she moved forward, waving smoke away before gasping as she saw a figure atop her staff. "IT WORKED!"

She grabbed the staff and spun it around, squealing like a schoolgirl. "I feel like a real witch now, like you Eda!" She said as she turned to see her mentor, only to see a magazine on the ground. "Eda?" She looked around the area, but didn't see the woman. "Where'd she go? Eda?"

She shrugged before letting out a sigh. "I guess she went back to the house...at least I have my palisman." She said as she turned back to her staff with a smile. But when she looked closer at it, she lost her smile and looked confused. "Hey, this kinda looks like…" She said as she looked closer, the wooden figure looking like Eda's cursed form, with the creature sitting and hunched up tightly on her staff. "Eda?!"

She looked at the staff nervously, shaking it a bit. "T-This is just a coincidence, right? RIGHT?!" She cried as she nervously reached towards the palisman and began to slowly turn it to animate it. 'T-This is just a coincidence, it has to be!'

It began to move and blink with its wings twitching with Luz gulping.

"Uh...hi little guy, er, girl."

"Luz? How did you get so big, what ha- what happened to me?!" Cried out the palisman with Eda's voice, minus a low growl tone to it.

"E-Eda? Is that you?" Luz asked, her stomach dropping like a stone.

"Of course it's me, but what happened?! Why am I a palisman?!" She asked, looking herself over. "For that matter, WHY am I a palisman in my CURSED form?"

"I-I don't know! One second I'm finishing the ritual, the next you're gone and you're my palisman!" She cried out nervously. "C-Can you change back or….are you stuck like this?"

"It feels like my whole body's made of wood." She remarked before she tried moving her arms around, but no magic circles appeared. "Uh, Luz? I think I may be stuck like this, I can't use magic."

"O-Ok….how do we fix this?"

"Kid, as far as I know this has NEVER happened before, ever." Remarked Eda with a deadpan look, at least her best shot at it. "I mean congrats on getting your first palisman, but now isn't exactly a time to celebrate when it's me on the pole here."

"R-Right… so what now?" asked Luz. "I mean, what's the next step to having a palisman?"

"Well, usually the witch and palisman have to start bonding, getting close, learning to trust each other." Eda said as she stretched stiffly. "Once that happens the Palisman can become more animated, practically alive, like mine."

"But don't we already have a bond?"

"Well yeah, but Palismans are complicated Luz, maybe it requires a new connection? I dunno, let's just see if we can fix this."

"Ok, well...oh! We could start sleeping in the same room. You won't take up much room, and it'll be like a sleepover!"

"That works, now about fixing thi-"

"It'll be easier when you're not made of wood Eda."

"...point taken." Eda said with a sigh. "Well, I guess it'll be fine to put off fixing this for a bit, just keep me away from Hooty."

"Why, scared he'll flirt with you?" teased Luz.

"Yes, you should have seen him when I brought home my palisman." Shuddered Eda. "I don't need to see his face right in front of mine when I'm trying to sleep."

"Ok, um...I could hide you in my shirt?" Offered Luz with Eda feeling her face heat up.

"Uh...maybe stick with sleeping in the same room for now. Speaking of which, we better take a nap to try and get in the groove of things. Purely so it's easier for later of course."

"Sure, sounds like fun! So...do you have to be like you are now or do I turn you back into a wood staff topper?"

"Keep me as is. If you make me stop moving on top of the staff, it'll just make me go into a comatose like state. It's like putting the pause option on me, so it's not really like sleeping."

"Huh, neat, ok, I'm gonna take a quick nap." She said as she laid down on the ground, holding Eda and the staff close like a teddy bear.

Eda blinked since she was really close to Luz's face. 'Ok… maybe this isn't such a bad situation.'

The screen went back to static with Eda coughing and looking away with Luz smiling.

"Sorry about that. I mean the whole drool-"

"We agreed not to bring that up."

"R-Right….and how you were back to normal after and I was-" Luz started, her face red.

"Never bring it up!" Eda cut her off quickly with a red face. "Moving on!"

"R-Right! What do you wanna see next?"

"Well….oh! Remember that funny time when we had to get some groceries?"

"You mean the time where I had to, oh! Oh…." Luz said as she trailed off as the 'photo' floated up.

"Yeah… let's watch."

It started to show Eda and Luz walking through the markets with Luz crossing her arms.

"A little word of warning would have been nice Eda."

"Sorry kid, there was no time." spoke Eda shaking her head. "We gotta get to that big sale and get as much as we can. It's worth the sacrifice."

"You're not the one 'sacrificing' anything!" Spoke Luz spreading out her arms as a banner that read 'Mother and Daughter sale' could be read around.

"Well it's not like you're losing anything. Pretending to be my daughter won't kill you."

"That's what you think." Grumbled Luz looking to the side.

"C'mon kid, it's not that bad, I didn't even go with my original plan for you when I heard of the sale." Eda said as she ruffled her hair.

"Wait, what plan?"

"Well, it involved turning you into a baby, or a lot of hair dye and magic to make you look like a mini me."

"...on second thought, going along like this is WAY better!" Luz said quickly as Eda grinned.

"That's what I wanted to hear kid, now let's do this!" she pulled Luz over to a stand that had numerous wooden heads with frowns. "Oooh, shrunken angry totems, I've always wanted a few around the house. They're great for detecting intruders."

"They are, but they are for mother daughter duos only miss."

"Oh come now, we are that." smiled Eda pulling Luz right beside her. "Can't you tell from our faces? Why we look like twins."

"Mmmm, it looks more like you grabbed a kid from the closest dumpster."

"Hey! I'll have you know she got most of her good looks from her father. He liked to go out and get a tan, over and over and over again." Eda said with a frown. "I carried her for all thirteen months damn it!"

The vendor raised an eyebrow and looked at Luz who tried giving a smile. "If she's holding you captive, blink three times."

'Don't blink, don't blink, don't blink!' Luz thought as she shook her head. "No, she's my mom."

"Hmmmm…." The vendor said as they rubbed their chin, making Luz and Eda feel nervous.

'I knew I should have given Luz a makeover!'

'She's gonna find out!'

"Welp, you didn't blink, so it must be true. Help yourselves!" The vendor said with a smile as Eda grinned.

"Don't mind if I do!" Eda grabbed numerous totems to put in her bag with Luz holding one with a smile.

"They look cute." she rubbed one before it's mouth opened and bit the finger. "OW!"

"Careful, they like to bite if someone gets too close."

"Ok...so what next mom?" Luz asked curiously. 'I just hope I don't have to keep acting all day.'

"Onto the next one!"

(Later)

"Edaaaaa, can we go home now?"

"Relax Luz, we're almost done."

"But the bags are getting too big, and heavy!"

"It's fine, we just have one last stop."

"Oh thank goodness!" She sighed as she followed Eda. "What is it?"

"Mother and daughter cloaks."

"Ok, let's get this over with." Luz sighed as they made their way to a large tent. "So why is there a whole day about mothers and daughters? Is it an annual thing or a new thing?"

"A new thing. Apparently it was made to celebrate mothers and the daughters they gave birth to who would later go on and keep the next generations of witches alive and kicking."

"Ok...sounds good to me I guess…" Luz said as they entered the tent. "So is it wrong for us to be taking advantage of this?" She whispered to Eda.

"Of course not. One could say being the mentor to a new witch is just about the same, especially seeing as I'm your guardian here." Eda said with a shrug. "Might as well play it safe though, some people can be sticklers for the rules."

"I didn't think you'd be all for getting new cloaks."

"Kid, free stuff is free stuff, I'm not turning any of it down!" She smirked as they reached the tent where a huge crowd of women were fighting over the items. "Alright kid, pick a cloak and start punching!"

Luz gulped as Eda jumped into the fray before making her way over, trying to find an opening without having to get on someone's bad side. 'Ok, this cloak looks nice, it's cool and white.'

"Back off kid, that's mine!" Growled a large woman with a giant pair of teeth for her face as she pushed Luz away.

Luz stumbled back, frowning and feeling cheated. "Hey, I saw that first lady."

"Snooze you lose!"

Luz narrowed her eyes, feeling something inside click as she set the bags down, cracked her knuckles, and let out a yell before running over and jumping on the lady while grabbing the cloak. "Give me that cloak!"

"No, get off of me, it's mine!" Cried the woman as Eda looked over to Luz and grinned.

"That's my girl!"

The memory went to static with the two laughing, the two cloaks hanging on the wall beside them.

"Haha, we really raised hell that day, didn't we Luz?"

"I can't believe they kicked us out, over a few knocked out teeth!"

"Relax, you'll do better next time. I didn't get to that until AFTER I gave a few black eyes."

"Yeah, I can't wait for next year." Luz chuckled with a grin.

"Hmm, oh! Remember that time I really helped you grow up?" smirked Eda with a devious glint.

"Oh no, please not that one!" Luz groaned with a blush. "That was so humiliating!"

"Aw come on, it wasn't so bad, I think I did a pretty good job." Eda said as another picture began to float up.

"That's not the point…" mumbled Luz as it began to show the Owl House, followed by a high pitched scream inside.

"WHAT DID YOU DO TO ME EDA?!"

"Relax Luz, you-"

"I CAN'T RELAX! LOOK AT ME!"

"Just calm down, you look great-"

"I'M OLD!"

"Oh please, you're overblowing things. This is more like maturity." Eda said with a grin. "And hey., at least you now know what you'll look like when you grow up."

Luz groaned, looking at the mirror since she was older. Like about college age levels of old, with longer hair going down her shoulders, a more filled out figure, but the issue was the fact her clothing was much much smaller, making her legs and belly be exposed and her newly grown chest REALLY stick out.

"Why, why did you do this Eda?!"

"Because I need to borrow you Luz… my mother is coming to visit."

"Say what!?" Luz went wide eyed. "Your mom? The one you mentioned before but never brought back up? She's coming here?!"

"Yeah, and to get her off my back I've been telling her I'm with someone, except now she wants to meet them." Eda rolled her eyes. "So to get her to shut up, I needed someone to help with that."

"And...you chose me?" Luz asked, getting a weird feeling in her chest.

"Yeah, and I gotta say you turned out great! Maybe I should have made you a bit older though…" Eda mused to herself as she inspected Luz.

Luz blushed hearing that. "B-B-B-But my clothes don't fit me anymore!"

"You can wear mine, we'll just tell her we match our clothes because we're in love." Eda waved her hand.

"Well...I guess that could work, b-but this is still a lot to tell me at once!"

"Well she's gonna be here in ten minutes, I just learned myself." Eda replied before taking Luz's hand and lead her upstairs. "Let's get you into something that fits."

"I-I don't know if I can do this!"

"Sure you can, all we have to do is dress you up, dye a strand of your hair grey and it'll work great Luz, you pretty much know everything about me so far."

Luz opened her mouth, but closed it since Eda DID have a point. "I...I guess I can do it...but you owe me!"

"Deal." Eda said with a grin. "Now let's convince that old bag that I'm not single so she can leave!"

(Later)

Knock knock

"That's her, you ready Luz?" Eda whispered as she made her way to the front door.

"I hope so." Luz whispered, tugging at the dress that seemed too tight around her waist and chest. 'A-Am I bigger than Eda?'

Eda opened the door with a smile. "Mom! So good to see you. Have you lost weight?"

"Why yes I have, now where is she, where is my future daughter in law?" asked a woman with gray hair styled in a braid, wearing a brown cloak around her body as she had a cane and was half Eda's height with some glasses on her nose.

"Right in here. Luz, meet my mom." Eda said as she looked at Luz expectantly. 'Ok, now sell it Luz!'

"Hello Miss Clawthorne, it's a pleasure to meet you." smiled Luz with a polite bow. "Eda's told me so many nice things about you."

"So good to hear, and how is she treating you, is everything going well?" She asked with a smile, a glint in her eyes behind her glasses. 'She looks good, a bit young but nice, Eda's bagged a good one, now to make them seal the deal~'

"So, mom, what brings you here on such short notice?" asked Eda, trying to keep her smile. "Especially with such short notice."

"Well, I wanted to see how my daughter and her soon to be wife were doing, and I was curious to know if you two had started working on giving me grandchildren." She said with a smile.

"Huh?!" Luz let out with wide eyes with Eda facepalming.

"Really mom? You couldn't just ask in a letter?"

"Well I wanted to hear the news in person." She said as she leaned forward expectedly.

"Well, sorry to disappoint you but we can't, the potion that will let us be...blessed with kids is way too expensive for us to afford."

"But if you had it you would give me grandchildren?" She asked with a grin, waiting for the answer.

"Well...yeah, I guess so." Eda said as Luz blushed only to pale as her mother began to rummage through her purse. "No….you didn't…"

"Say no more, let me take care of that." She chuckled as she pulled out a large golden potion the size of King. "I bought one years ago for the day you or your sister would finally meet someone they loved, and today is the day~"

"Ehhh?!" Luz let out, turning beet red.

"Mom! I can't believe you! The first time you meet Luz and you pull this?!"

"Hey! Don't give me that tone! It's the least you can do after becoming a wanted woman."

"Oh no, don't you go and bring up the whole 'your sister isn't a criminal' speech again."

"Well she isn't! And her job requires too much time to become a mother, something you have plenty of seeing how you aren't in a coven!"

"I've been working out just fine without limiting myself! Besides, me and Luz aren't ready for kids."

"You just told me if you had the potion you would take it!"

"When we were ready ya old hag!"

"Then take it and use it when you are ready, and do it soon, I'm not getting any younger and neither are you two!"

"Me and Luz got plenty of time on our heads!" Eda shouted with a growl. "I think it's time for you to leave mom."

"Ugh! I am so sorry for my daughter Luz, she can be stubborn." the woman patted Luz on the back of her hand.

"No no, it's alright. I've gotten used to it." Luz said, still a bit shell shocked.

"I'm sure you want to have kids, don't you?"

"Uh...well….sure?"

"Then I'm sure you want to drink the potion, don't you?" She asked with a grin.

"Well….it….would be a waste if it sat there…." She said, pondering the idea.

"Luz, no don't do it!" Eda interjected quickly. "Ignore my senile mom, who is going, now!"

"Not until she drinks it, and it's her choice too, now all you have to do sweetie is drink it and kiss Eda, then you'll have a nice bun in the oven~"

"That's it!" Eda pulled out her staff. "I'll make you go the old fashion way."

"Not on your life!"

"Wait stop! No fighting!" cried Luz right as the memory went static with Luz shaking her head while covering her face.

"I can't believe you gave your own mom a wedgie."

"Hey, she tried to get you pregnant, she had it coming." Defended Eda before smirking. "On the upside, that pesky potion getting smashed got her to finally leave."

"Yeah, she was pretty mad though, she swore she'd be back."

"And this time I'll be ready to give her a worse wedgie." Eda chuckled.

"Yeah…" Luz said as she flipped through the book before pausing and paling. "NOPE!"

"What? What is it?"

"It's from THAT DAY, the worst one we ever had together!"

"...might wanna be specific."

"The one where you gave me… the talk."

"OH! That one!" She said as she shook her head. "Yeah, let's skip that memory, shall we?"

"Good idea." She said as they quickly began to turn the pages. When they stopped one of them immediately zipped up from the page before starting. "Wait, what one is this?"

"I dunno, but I guess we're gonna see."

It began to become unclear, showing a worried Luz pacing outside a classroom at the school, rubbing her hands together.

"Keep it together Luz, keep it together." The human girl muttered to herself. 'Everything is fine, everything is fine.'

That's when the bell let out a scream, making her quickly duck into a locker and look at the door as numerous kids started heading out. None of them really stuck out except for one with bright orange hair.

'Ok Luz, just be quick, and explain everything.' She thought as she tried to calm herself down. 'But what if explaining things to her destroys the future?!'

"See ya around Eda!"

"You too!"

'How do I tell young Eda I'm from the future!?' thought Luz watching Eda walk by and bit her finger. 'If she doesn't believe me and thinks I'm crazy, I'll be stuck here!' She thought as she took another glance at Eda and blushed. 'And why does she have to be so cute?!'

Eda herself hummed, feeling a pair of eyes on her, but not turning around and rounding the corner before clinging to the wall with a frown. 'Alright, whoever's eyeballing me is gonna try and follow me, but not on my watch.'

'Where did she go?' Luz exited the locker and went down the hall, but as soon as she reached the corner she found herself tugged over and slammed against the wall by Eda who glared at her.

"Alright, who are you? I've never seen you around here before, so why are you eyeing me?" Eda demanded, looking Luz up and down.

'AAAAHHHHHH! WHAT DO I SAY?!' thought Luz who gulped. "Uh….hi?"

"Come on, talk! Are you stalking me, and why?" Eda said with a frown. She looked closer and noted Luz's ears, catching her off guard. "Hey, your ears…"

"Don't kill me Eda!"

"Huh? Why would I want to kill you?"

"Because you...well you can't at the moment, but I mean you COULD in the future later on when you get older and do more magic, but right now you're still young and-" Luz covered her mouth quickly.

"Still young?" Eda asked in confusion. "What are you talking about?"

Luz blushed with Eda narrowing her eyes.

"You and me are gonna have a little chit chat." She grabbed Luz and lead her to an empty room, making sure to magically lock it. "Alright, start talking. Try and run, and I'll freeze your feet."

"Please don't…." Luz whimpered.

"Then talk."

"Well….see, it's kind of a funny story."

(Later)

"And so I need your help to get back or else I'll be stuck here in the past."

"I….wha….how…" Eda gasped, trying to comprehend everything. "You mean in the future I live on my own with a demon and a human apprentice AND I'm a fugitive?"

"Well...yes?"

"...Hot dog I really am living the life in the future!" She smiled jumping up and down with an excited cheer, surprising Luz.

"Wait, you mean you don't think I'm nuts?"

"You kidding? This is the boiling isles! Crazier stuff has happened!" She laughed with Luz feeling some hope.

"You mean you'll help me?"

"Sure, why not, but first you gotta do something for me."

"Anything!"

"Go out with me!"

"...come again?" Luz asked, feeling like she just got punched in the gut.

"Go out with me! You're lucky you're my type." Eda said with a grin.

Luz turned red and started stammering. "B-B-B-But I'm from the future!"

"Look, I don't know how time works in the human world, but on the boiling isles time is...well think of it like taffy, it can get stretched, hammered, cut up into pieces, but at the end of the day it can be put back together with ease. So you dating me now isn't a problem, the only real rule about time travel is don't date any family members."

Luz went slack jawed while Eda walked over and closed her mouth while giving her the half lidded look.

"Besides, you're pretty cute."

"I-I...but...what...I….thanks….wait…." Luz stuttered out, her face heating up.

"It's not that big of a deal. I mean it's not like you've never dated someone before."

"I….I….I…." Luz stuttered as Eda grinned.

"Or is it, well, this is gonna be fun~" She chuckled before wrapping her hand around Luz's waist and pulled her right up against her. "Here, let me show you how it goes."

"Wha-" she was cut off when Eda pressed her lips against her own, making her feel like her heart stopped and face put a tomato to shame. After a moment Eda pulled back, grinning like the bird who caught the canary.

"Not bad for your first time, but I think we should practice some more~"

"Uhhhhhhhh." Luz let out in a daze.

"I'll take that as a 'Kiss me again Eda', ok?" She cupped Luz's cheek and pressed their lips back together, with Luz's mind snapping back into place.

'What am I doing?! I'm kissing Eda! And...and….I like it?'

Eda pulled back with a smirk. "Say, ever heard of Grom Night?"

"A-A little, why?"

"Good, we can go together, it's later this week."

"W-Wait, you're asking me to grom?"

"Huh? I thought I already said we're going? Aren't you dating me now?"

"Yes! I mean no! I mean...gah! This is all so fast!"

"Relax, I'll show you how a real kiss is later on." smirked Eda patting her on the back before whispering. "By the way, it involves tongue~"

"T-Tongue?"

"Yep~" Eda said with a grin before hearing the bell ring. "Shoot, damn class, I gotta go." She pecked Luz on the cheek before walking to the door. "See ya around, wear something nice."

"Uhum...sure...no problem." Luz called, feeling shell shocked. 'What just happened?!' She thought as the screen began to fade out.

Luz looked away bright red with Eda chuckling.

"Oh man, I completely forgot about that. Boy, you almost passed out when I beat Grom and wanted a little reward."

"W-Well I was new to all of that! A-And I still kind of am!" Luz pouted as Eda chuckled.

"I swear Luz, how you don't have a gaggle of admirers now is beyond me." She teased poking her on the cheeks.

"D-Don't tease me like that! It's not my fault I'm not used to all the crazy around here."

Eda smiled as another square rose up, which made her rub the girl on the back. "Hey, remember this?"

Luz looked at it and gave a smile, not realizing she was leaning against Eda. "Yeah."

"You sure showed your stuff that day." remarked Eda as it began to play, showing Eda laying on the couch and rubbing her head while Luz was covering her with a blanket.

"Really Luz, I'm fine."

"No you aren't Eda, you just lost your magic and you lost the curse all at once, it'll take time for you to get it back." frowned Luz standing up with her arms crossed. "You're going to take it easy and stay off your legs for a while."

"Luz, you act like I'm helpless. I just need to walk around and I'll be better in no time."

"No Eda, you can't go out right now, you need to stay here and be safe, just until things die down a bit."

"Luz." sighed Eda sitting up before seeing Luz in her face with a glare, and what looked like tears in her eyes.

"Eda please, just listen to me." She drooped her head and lightly shook. "I almost lost you. You almost…"

"Luz…" the woman found Luz grabbing her hands and look at her with tears running down her cheeks.

"I don't want you to push yourself when you're like this. Please Eda, just please...take it easy and rest. I….I don't want to lose you."

"...ok kid, I will, just for you, I'll take it easy and relax here, get my strength back, lick my wounds, everything, ok?" Eda said softly as she pulled Luz close to her. "All I ask is that you wipe those tears away, I'm safe now, I'm safe with you."

Luz sniffled and wiped the tears away with her arm and hugged Eda tightly who patted her back with a smile. "Just please...promise me you won't…"

"I won't go away Luz, I promise." She said as she gently kissed her on the forehead. "I promise…"

Luz slowly calmed down and smiled herself before standing back up. "Alright, then you just lay down and let me take care of the place. I'll do the chores and have King help. That way this whole place will shine and you won't have to worry about a thing."

"Having King help? Now I'm worried." joked Eda.

"Yeah, now you just rest, ok?" Luz said as she turned to leave.

"You got it kid." She said as the screen went dark and floated back onto the book.

Eda smiled fondly as the book closed and laid on the ground. "Man, who knew a walk through memory lane could feel exhausting eh Luz?...Luz?" She looked down and noted the girl laying her head on Eda's lap, asleep with her cat ears poking out again. "Heh, I guess that last one took too much out of you, huh? Let's get you to bed, kid."

She carefully picked her up and went upstairs, then when she reached Luz's bag carefully set her down and gave her head a rub with the ears slightly twitching.

"We've really been through a lot." she muttered before pecking Luz on the forehead, making her smile before Eda got up and headed out, her hand touching a small black box in her pocket, which had a ring inside. "Maybe we'll be through a lot more in the future." she whispered while closing the door, unaware that Luz wasn't ENTIRELY asleep.

'I hope so too Eda, I hope so too.' She thought as she let her mind wander. 'I wonder...maybe she could turn me older later down the line...purely for curiosity reasons.'
