Congratulations to those who finished their exams! And good luck to those who still have to take them!
It has come to my attention that readers usually enjoy reading multiple chapters at a time. So from now on, I will be publishing two chapters a week. If that happens to become too much for me, I will publish 5 chapters a month. Let's see how this goes! Thanks for reading!
Thursday rolled around. Selena had prepared a playlist to last for two hours then a DJ would come in and let the patrons dance the rest of the night away. She was dressed in a cheongsam. It was a jade green dress that flowed to her knees. It was designed with flowers that gave a stark construct to the pale color. The bamboo buttons were clasped, and her hair was in a short bob for tonight. She wore vivid purple flats that matched her demonic power. A subtle fact, but one she enjoyed.
As she went down to the lobby, she saw the hotel staff gathered around. "How do I look?"
"Gorgeous!" Charlie squealed.
"Pretty damn sexy, Foxy!" Angel examined her further.
"So cute!" Niffty was running around her. It looked like Niffty was taking in every detail of her dress.
Vaggie, Alastor, Ryan, and Husker just stared. It made the priestess a bit self conscious.
"You look right as rain, doll!" Alastor finally mustered. He then elbowed Vaggie which sent a cacophony of 'yeah' or 'pretty' from the others.
Once everyone was ready to get started, they walked into the ballroom and opened the doors of the Hazbin Club for the first time. It was 9 pm sharp. So many guests poured in! It amazed both Charlie and Selena! After the guests got their drinks and the main influx into the club dwindled, Charlie went up to give a speech.
"Thank you for coming to the grand opening of The Hazbin Club! We hope you enjoy your experience!" She paused for a moment and waited for Alastor to appear beside her.
Together they exclaimed, "Give a hand for The Zephyrian Chaos!"
Selena came out from behind the stage left curtain. She walked towards the mic where Charlie and Alastor were standing. Once she was there, they got down and went to the employee booth in the back corner of the club. Selena looked out onto the crowd. Even though the lights hid the details of the crows, she could still tell there were a lot of people there. A few scattered applause were heard. She took a deep breath and began to sing.
Song Starts Here
You shout it out
But I can't hear a word you say
Her voice startled the crowd with how strong her voice was.
I'm talking loud, not saying much
I'm criticized, but all your bullets ricochet
Shoot me down, but I get up
The crows began getting into her song and savoring her voice. Selena found that singing to the crowd was more exciting than she had expected.
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
She started dancing in place.
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Cut me down
But it's you who'll have further to fall
Ghost town and haunted love
Raise your voice
Sticks and stones may break my bones
Talking loud, not saying much
I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
I am titanium
She power belted the chorus. She was so happy to see people enjoy the club idea.
Stone-hard, machine gun
Firing at the ones who run
Stone-hard as bulletproof glass
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down, but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
Song Ends Here
Selena finished singing her two hour bout and joined the others at the booth.
"Oh my! Auntie, I had no idea! You can sing wonderfully." Charlie was so excited by the performance.
"Ya tellin' me, Foxy, that you never sang a lullaby to your niece?" Angel seemed to be in a teasing mood.
"Hey! Dad would never let Auntie! He always had to sing them himself when I was little." This caused the whole group to erupt into laughter. It seemed tonight would be even better than she had imagined.
