Selena's next stop was to Rosie's Emporium. She appeared in front of the store and walked in. As she walked in, she took in all of Rosie's dresses she had tailored. She always liked the cannibal Overlord. Let alone her sense of style. Selena was here the day she descended. She also learned that day that she did not die. Just simply walked, or rather fell, into Hell. It made her all the more fascinating to the kitsune.
"Selena!" Rosie came from behind a rack of dresses. She gave Selena a massive hug. "Oh! I missed you so! You've been so busy! I hear you're part of that redemption hotel. You know my good friend Alastor helps run it."
"I heard you were friend's with Alastor. I mean I should've guessed, but I had no idea before this morning."
"Come. Come. I'll make some tea." Rosie clapped. "Ladies! Make Selena most comfortable. Please take care of our guest while I make tea." She gave the ladies a small glare with a smile and disappeared into the back of the emporium. They all led her to a cushioned seat at a table with cookies on it. "Have a biscuit, dear. Here's our tea." She set down a teapot and two tea cups. "Tell me. How is it to work with Alastor?" Selena heard every girl in the emporium swoon. She quickly noted how all her words would be heard by the fangirl squad.
"It's…fine. It really is." She tapped her cup and avoided Rosie's bottomless gaze.
"Be honest, dear, we are friends."
"He's infuriating, Rosie, but he's apologized. I feel like he kinda meant it, but I don't think he'll be able to correct the behavior that caused our fight to begin with." She blew on her tea.
"He apologized?" Rosie seemed dumbfounded.
"Yeah. What's wrong?" Selena seemed confused.
"He never apologizes. Ever." Rosie ununciated the last word heavily.
"I thought something like that. Which is why I don't believe it. Or at least I am having a hard time trying to. I don't know what to do with him. He confuses me so much!" Selena slapped her hand on the table. "Sorry, Rosie." She replied meekly. She was awfully embarrassed by her behavior. Usually she was more put together, but lately, when it came to Alastor, she fell to pieces. Just like with him. Neana bless her! It seemed her trip to the human world had her missing home and all that came with it.
The two continued to chat about this and that. They seemed to enjoy each other's company, and after an hour or two, Rosie returned to work. Using the normal way, Selena made her way back to her new home, The Happy Hotel. She walked the streets slowly and quietly. Taking in all of the sights.
Once she walked in the door, she was met by two eerily glowing red orbs. It was late at night. What was he doing out here? "Hey, Al. What are you doing out here? Aren't you usually in your radio tower?"
"We need to talk where we can be uninterrupted." His voice was dark and angry. What the hell had happened?
"Umm. Okay." She had a bad feeling about this. He teleported them to his room. Alastor glared at her while she stood there. In the middle of his room. "What is it, Al? You can tell me anything. I'm your friend."
"Are you?" His voice sounded so husky and uncontrolled. "What have you done to me?"
"Al, what are you talking about?" She seemed so confused, but he couldn't believe that. No. She bewitched him. He was so damn sure of it.
"You cast some spell on me, didn't you? Whatever you have done, undo it!" He reached to shake her, instead dug his claws into her shoulder.
"Ow. Al, what are you talking about?"
"Undo the damn spell you cast on me!" His eyes held the look of a madman.
"I can't undo a spell I haven't cast! Al, tell me what's going on!" She tried to remove his claws, but she realized she would only hurt herself more if she did.
"You bewitched me somehow! I feel so empty without you here. So worried while you were gone. So left out! You consume me! When you're here, my life becomes something akin to warmth! What have you done to me?! Why is it I can barely look away from you? Have you seduced me?!" He dropped his head and placed it on her shoulder. He seemed so tired and scared. Not but a second after, his firm, wild look returned.
"I can't do anything like that! I only can attract people to me. That's it. It calms them and makes them want me, but I hate it and don't want it! The effects disappear as soon as I'm out of sight!" She was actually afraid. What was he saying to her? "Please, Al, you're hurting me. Let me go!" She felt so weak and scared. She began to tear up. She would hurt him, but he was dear to her. She didn't want to, but she felt like he would make her. A tear ran down her cheek.
He stared at the woman in front of him. She was afraid. He wanted to bathe in it, but he couldn't find the will or the love of her fear within her eyes. In fact, when he looked at them, he could tell she was telling the truth. She was terrified. He watched the tear roll down her cheek. He licked it away before he could think.
The look of horror and fear on her face snapped him back to his let her go, and she ran to her room. What did he just do? What just happened?
