Selena had left to see Lucifer. Not only had he summoned the Reapers, but she wanted to enact part B of her plan. She arrived in her crimson outfit just behind Cerulean and Veridian. Upon seeing the other two's faces uncovered, she uncovered her own. "The rebellion for redemption is about to begin. Like clockwork. They have gathered they're resources, recruited more soldiers, and plan to use their guerilla warfare again. Four months after Extermination. Quite tiresome."
"Speaking of that, my lord." Selena spoke in front of the other two for the first time in the centuries they served together. Her voice was beautiful. "I have a solution for the time being."
"You know better than to speak in my presence, Crimson." Lucifer's voice was sharp. "But I'll hear you out." He waved for her to continue. She looked down at him in his chair.
"I have a plan regarding the angels and the redemption rebels, but my liege, I need your trust. Trust me to handle this on my own. There is a greater chance of a unified Hell if you do." Selena knew that now her place is a servant who follows his orders. Not his friend.
"If I do. How bold of you. Asking your King to trust you. You are quite belligerent today." He stood up and walked towards her. He met her gaze. "Leave you two. I'll summon you later." They bowed and disappeared.
"Sorry, Luci, but I needed to talk to you about it to begin with!"
"You challenged me in front of my followers. Two of the more powerful ones! Selena, I love you dearly, my friend, but this is too much. What is your plan?" He had walked away, but when he turned to her he looked at her with such a stressful look.
"Remember your permission to do anything to beat your father?" He perked up and nodded.
"This is one of several pieces. If I can use the rebellion, it will gain my original goddess power. If she has enough power, God falls."
"How do you intend to use them?" He was genuinely curious now.
"By redeeming them in sections." Lucifer let out a guffaw.
"I'm sorry, Selena, but that'll be impossible." He tried to subside his laughter. Selena's expression never wavered in its determination.
"My existence in Hell is impossible, Luci. If God had his way, I'd long since be dead. But Neana has other plans. I intend to obey. And get my revenge for what he did to my people, my goddess, my love, and myself. Years of waiting for a piece to fall into place. It's finally happened, now it's time to move the board." Lucifer seemed enthralled with her voice. "I will have Neana win this chess game. Even if acting as her Queen results in my ultimate demise. I will not and can not back down."
"Fine. Do whatever you want. But let me ask. Are you the one who pushed Charlie into this preposterous redemption plan?" He seemed annoyed and gleeful.
"No. Though I would lie if I said I didn't put the idea into her head." Her face resembled a darkness hiding deep within. Lucifer was slightly terrified. "I told you. A piece needed to fall into place. As long as Charlie willingly walks her current path, then I have free reign to work for my goddess. That is all. I love the girl, but I promoted her dream for my own selfish reasons."
How positively evil of her. "Are you sure you're a saintess, Selena?" He was amazed. How long ago did she darken in front of him? Has she been hiding it all this time? She used to hate using people, hurting them, or even playing the game of war. It was why she was a spy when he took control of Hell.
"I'm a demoness who serves Neana. I had to accept that last Extermination day. And when my darkness last took over. I have changed for this game of war I must play. I will be whatever monster it takes to bring God from his throne. I will do. Whatever. it . Takes. Whatever it takes." Her conviction was that of his own. He could sense it. But the corruption he just saw was a new dangerous field to be playing in.
"Why did you battle Ozzie?" It just occurred to him that that random act from her may be a move on her chess board.
"I need him to send more souls to be redeemed. With his help and his lockdown on his Ring, I will have plenty for Charlie to work with and redeem."
"Just how many do you need?" He was at awe at the plan he had seen thus far.
"However many it takes. All of Hell. A quarter. Converting the ones in heaven. I don't know. But it be however many it takes. And he is only the beginning. Slowly I will force more people to help me. Whether with a friendly display of power or by making demonic deals. I cannot let Him win."
"And Charlie?" Lucifer feared this answer.
"I will protect her to the best of my abilities. But I am not perfect. I pray to Neana to protect Charlie." He felt a sense of calm. She still adored Charlie. Maybe she wasn't as corrupted as he thought.
"Fine. Then do all you can. Go over and stop the rebellion your way. But this better not bite me in the ass."
Selena chuckled. "No. I promise I'll keep you King of Hell. You can't take over for God I'm afraid, old friend.
Selena transported to the rebellion front lines in her old priestess clothes. She knew they would never recognize her, but she remained nervous all the same. A rebel found her and pointed a spear at her throat. "What do you want?"
