Emilio made it to the conference room as the last three applicants were filing in noticing Gas shift in his chair which caused an immediate flash of irritation to course through his body. Two seconds later, the irritation was gone. As COO of MCC, he should have been in his chair, or at least in the room before the applicants arrived. Not a good look.
As soon as Emilio was seated, Gas opened the meeting.
/*/
By 10:00 am, applications had been completed, two developers had dropped out and the consensus with regard to two companies working together had been resolved. The winning developer would work with the winning MCC sanctioned contractor.
By 10:01 am, Emilio, Sal, Seth, Ezra and the developers and contractors were gathered at the door getting ready to visit the proposed SSE London. Gas had authorized Ezra to join the group knowing if there was something to be spotted, Ezra would spot it.
By 10.10 am, the entire group was standing on the far side of Goodge Street waiting for Seth or Sal to Unshroud the building.
By 11:30 am, two more developers had dropped out citing the magnitude of the project. The three remaining developers and four contractors assured Seth and Sal they would have their bid projections and plans in on or before the 6th of November as required. Each wizard shook hands all around before leaving agreeing to the man they looked forward to hearing from the planning committee. As they were shaking hands, Seth and Sal advised the applicants they could ring either one of them if they had questions or concerns.
With that, the meeting was over.
By 12:10 pm, Emilio and Ezra were headed back to MCC leaving Seth and Sal to survey the future home of their newest branch.

A Tale Of Two Wizards Full Circle: Chapter 68
Matt was gazing at himself in the mirror of his private lav wondering what was going on in Belgium. He'd had a call from an old mate just about pleading for him to come to Belgium as he had an urgent matter to discuss. Matt hadn't bothered to mention the visit to anyone as he wasn't sure what it entailed. If it became necessary, he would share information when he got back to London. Adjusting his suit coat one last time, Matt headed out.
When Matt stepped out of the Portkey Office in Belgium, his old mate Patrick Jacobs was standing there with an outstretched hand. After a hearty handshake, he pulled Matt into a tight hug while sporting a wide grin. "Matt Lozio. It's been a while. Thank you for answering my call"
Sporting an equally wide grin, Matt gripped Patrick by the shoulder. "Although I was puzzled by your slightly cryptic call, I couldn't turn down an invitation from a long time mate. How are things Jake?"
"Before we get to that, I insist we go to Oakley's for lunch. I know you probably have a busy schedule, so I'll explain over lunch. I'll pay."
Matt laughed, giving his mate a nudge. "Oakley's? I thought that place would be out of business by now. My schedule is tight, but I'll always have time for a mate. Oakley's it is. And of course you'll pay. You invited me. How are all the other lads? Anyone in jail?"
"Hahahha. Still the wise arse I see. The only one headed to jail would have been you. Lucky thing you got out of here when you did. I'll see you at Oakley's."
Matt was smiling as he turned into Apparition.
/*/
When the two wizards were comfortably settled at a table, they made a bit of small talk before ordering. Patrick mentioned how he missed Matt calling him Jake. Matt replied he'd always be Jake to him.
For several minutes, the two mates ate the mussels and fries in silence before Matt asked why he was there between bites.
Before speaking, Jake fiddled with his fork a bit then wiped his mouth with a napkin which induced Matt to tease him.
"Come on lad. You've never been one to hold your tongue no matter the subject. Spit it out. Why am I here?"
Jake nodded. "You're right Matt. I've never been one to hold my tongue which might be part of my problem."
Matt leaned back in the chair giving Jake a searching look. "Problem? Sounds serious. It seems you've forgotten our motto, explain and discuss, so get to explaining then we'll discuss."
"Fair enough." Jake replied, pulling several sheets of paper from his inside pocket handing them to Matt. "Have a look. While you look, I'll explain. I could have requested an appointment with you, however, I didn't want to be embarrassed so far from home. If I was going to be embarrassed, I preferred being embarrassed on home ground."
Not taking his eyes off the pages in front of him, Matt furrowed his brows. "You're talking like an arsehole Jake. I thought you were smarter than that. What's this I'm reading? Is this your company?"
"Perhaps I am talking like an arsehole Matt, but that's my reasoning, and yes, that is my company you're reading about. Well David's and mine. When you and Seth left, David and I felt left behind. We made a pact to save our money, pool it then make our own fortunes. It took us three years to even have enough for a paltry down payment, but we took a leap."
Matt looked Jake in the eyes. "From what I'm reading, you and David had a solid idea which was turned into a viable business. *Belgie Opbouwen/Belgische Huizen, Building Up Belgium/Belgian Homes. Has a nice ring to it."
"It is a solid idea Matt. Unfortunately, an untimely turn of events has forced David and I to either close down or find support. I suggested asking you or Seth. David wouldn't hear of it. That's why he's not here. He didn't want to, as he put it, beg. I don't want to beg either Matt. That's just not me, but I am asking if there is any way your company can help a small enterprise."
"I'm not sure why David sees asking for assistance as begging. We grew up together. We were poor together. We worked hard together. It was luck that got Seth and I out of East Flanders. The MCC team would be proud to assist you. Can you get David here? Better yet, I have the information I need." Matt said, holding up the pages in his hand. "Get your documentation together stating your needs and future plans. I'll go back to London to get things started. If David can make himself available for, say 3:00 pm your time, I'll set up a conference call where you'll explain and discuss with my team."
Jake let out a sigh of relief. This morning he had no idea how this meeting would turn out, but it had exceeded expectations. His old mate was coming to his and David's rescue. He rose from the chair with his hand outstretched.
"Thank you Matt. Sometimes when a bloke comes into a lot of money….."
Matt didn't let Jake finish the sentence. "I don't want to hear that bullshite from you Jake. I'll always be Matt Lozio from East Flanders. The only difference is now I wear suits. Go tell David he'll be needed at 3:00 pm. Tell him I owe him a kick in the arse for being an idiot. I'll talk to you at 3:00."
"Haha. You can tell David yourself. We'll talk to you at 3:00."
/*/
Glancing at his Wonder Wizard Watch, Matt hurried to the Portkey Office. He had found another candidate for the FF without even looking. The only question was who he'd put on Jake and David's arses. He sent a text to Emilio and Gas giving them a heads up.
/*/
Once back at MCC, Emilio and Gas had a quick discussion about the left over developers and contractors. Even though several had removed themselves from consideration, Seth and Sal still had exemplary choices.
Then the conversation turned to Matt's text.
"I wonder what our CEO has gotten us into. Sounds mysterious." Gas remarked.
"He probably needs us to run interference between him and some overstepping Marketing Manager. Don't ever repeat that Gas or I might find myself demoted down to a fourth level."
"Matt will never hear it from me. He should be back in the building by noon. I'll see you in his office."
"Alright Gas. I'm going to stop by the conference room to make sure Ezra hasn't browbeaten Seth and Sal into calling their new branch the Ezra project."
"You're probably too late." Teased Gas as his laughter followed him down the hall.

With Scorp down for his nap, Hermione was modeling her wedding dress while Hannah made notes on what needed to be adjusted. Hermione and Hannah had discussed doing the alterations by wand, but that didn't sit well with Hermione. She wanted everything perfect.
"As much as I trust your wand work and my own, I would rather have a magical seamstress do the work. Preferably one who has a long list of satisfied customers."
"Oh! So my wand work is good enough to hex your brother but not good enough to make a few alterations to your fine wedding dress. I'm insulted." Remarked Hannah with a distinct pout.
Hermione gave her best witch a soft pinch on the arm. "You said it love not me. Now, I have my notes. Let's find ourselves a top notch seamstress. I don't have any experience with London seamstresses but I do have several contacts in Milan. It would be gauche to use the same one I used when I married Draco, but there are several others I researched before choosing the one I did. I'll check if mum still has the information. One thing down on to the next. Wedding Planner. For that, I will be using someone in London."
"Grace Leyton."
"Who?"
"Grace Leyton," repeated Hannah. "Wedding Planner extraordinaire. She has a big shop right on the corner of Diagon Alley and Diagon Place. You can't miss it. Lovely white building with Grace Leyton, Wedding Planner in big letters on the front of it."
Hermione let out a chuckle as she shrunk down her wedding dress. "Sometimes you can be insufferable. Why not take that insufferable arse to the loo and have a pee then come back and tell me more about Grace Leyton with the lovely white building and big letters.
Throwing the back of her hand against her forehead, Hannah let out a dramatic sigh. "And you call me insufferable. I know when I have to pee."
"Don't we all? It isn't hard. You have to pee every five minutes."
With hands on hips, Hannah replied. "Well I never….."
"Right in one. You'll never if you remain standing where you are."
Hannah laughed out loud. "Sisters can be such a pain. I'll be right back."
/*/
By the time Hannah returned to the living room, Hermione had already found the number for Grace Leyton. Holding a finger up to Hannah, Hermione continued speaking into the mobile. After a short conversation, Hermione ended the call.
"Well Mrs. Potter it's all settled. I have an appointment to speak with Grace Leyton. From our short conversation, I do believe Grace is someone with whom I can work, so thank you. Two things down."
"Alright love. Two things down. You and the handsome wizard may now begin work on the wedding party. I already know I have a place so I'm going to get my pregnant butt to the Leaky where I will serve two or three drinks then cry tired. My bar maids and bartenders are the best."
Hermione chuckled as she stood to hug Hannah. "Does Mr. Potter know you are using your staff in such an abominable way?"
With a wink and a grin, Hannah gave a smart answer. "It was Mr. Potter who suggested I use my staff in this manner. He went as far to say, if anyone didn't like it, they could come see him. I'm covered. Give Scorp hugs for me. I'll stop in to say a quick hello to Louis then I'm out. Love you Mrs. Hermione. Talk to you soon."
"Love you more Mrs. Potter. I'll let you know how things turn out with Grace."
Hermione got out of the chair. It was about time for young Malfoy to be making his appearance. Hearing nothing, she dialed up Nonna Maida. The phone was picked up on the third ring, but it was Carmela's assistant who answered.
Carmela's Line. How can I help you?
Hello Theresa. This is Hermione Malfoy. Is Carmela available?
Oh hello Hermione. I'm afraid Carmela is in with the Travelers. May I take a message?
Yes Theresa. Please ask Carmela to give me a call this evening. I'd forgotten how busy SSE can be on a Friday. Give my regards to everyone. Thanks.
Alright Hermione. I'll give Carmela the message. Have a good day.
You too Theresa. Bye.
/*/
Hermione was grimacing about her faux pas of calling SSE on a Friday afternoon as she headed to the kitchen for a cup of tea. She knew better. Just as she stopped chastising and began pouring, she heard the lilting tones of her youngest love.
"MUM! MUM! I'M UP. I HAD MY NAP."
"There's no need to shout love. I'm here in the kitchen having a cup of tea. Would you like a glass of juice?"
"Sorry mum. I didn't see you. Crissy hopped me down but didn't tell me where you were. I do want a glass of juice." Scorp replied in a soft voice. "After my juice, can I sit out back to play my brain games? I won't touch any bugs."
Hermione smiled at her sweet boy. "Yes you may sit out back. Call Crissy or Dusty to bring down your games while I recast the warming and protective spells out back."
"Okay mum okay." Scorp replied as he walked towards the bottom of the stairs. "CRISSY! I NEED MY BRAIN GAMES."
Hermione started to remind Scorp about using his inside voice but Crissy beat her to it.
"Stop using that loud voice little mister. You know your mum and Mr. Meelio don't like that loud talk."
"Okay Crissy okay. I wanted you to hear me."
"We can hear you just fine when you use a regular voice. We's elves. Here's your games. If Mrs Hermione wants me to help you, just call me… in a regular voice."
Scorp gave Crissy a young wizard version of the side eye but she ignored it telling him no one likes a fresh boy. Scorp didn't want to get on Crissy's bad side so he had simply said thank you before heading out back.

Matt was back in the office by 12:30 sharing with Emilio and Gas where he'd gone and what it had been about. Gas mentioned he remembered meeting Patrick and David. Emilio hadn't had the pleasure as he hadn't been part of Draco Malfoy's inner circle but looked forward to working with the Belgians.
After reading over the *Belgie Opbouwen material, both wizards agreed with Matt's consensus that the small enterprise could be set right.
"We have a full day Matt. This is an excellent opportunity but….."
Matt held up a hand. "Thank you Emilio for that bit of enlightenment, but I'm sure as CEO I know how full a day we have. If I didn't think we could fit it in, I would have scheduled the conference call for another day."
Emilio shrugged. Matt had been a bit sharp but he deserved it. They were the Beasts backed up by the FF. A tight schedule should be the least of their worries. Emilio remained silent as Matt explained the rest.
Gas was a bit uncomfortable as he hadn't ever heard Matt be sharp with Emilio. Then he thought about it. Better Emilio getting the reprimand than himself. Listening as Matt explained the plan, Gas also wondered if they would fit it all in. He and Emilio needed to have a discussion with Sal and Seth; The conference call was scheduled for 2:00; The meeting with James Wooley was scheduled for 4:30. They wouldn't have time for a shite.
"Have I lost you too Mr. Maida?"
Gas had been caught out. "Sorry. What did you say Matt?"
Raising his wand to close the door to his office, Matt swore. "For fucks sake. If this wasn't important to me, I wouldn't be doing it. If you'd rather pass on this, get the FF down here. I'll work it out with them." Then he sighed, rubbing his hand across his forehead. "Sorry men. I am wound too tight. Let's put a time limit on the conference call. We'll discuss for thirty minutes. We get sorted what we can then push the rest to Monday or Tuesday. Better? If this goes the way I think it will, I want two of the FF to handle it from start to finish. Make your choices by 2:00. Thank you."
Emilio nodded.
Gas spoke his agreement.
"Alright wizards, I know you have business with Seth and Sal. We'll meet at 2:00."
"2:00 it is cousin." Offered Emilio.
"See you then." Added Gas.
When he was alone, Matt admitted out loud he could have handled that so much better.
/*/
The day was going along well.
Emilio and Gas sat with the FF to explain what was coming up regarding Belgie Opbouwen. True to form all five wanted to participate. Adam and Richard were chosen.
Emilio and Gas spent fifteen minutes with Seth and Sal discussing contractors and developers only stopping for a quick tea and a quicker bathroom break.
Matt, Emilio, and Gas spent the authorized thirty minutes speaking to Patrick Jacobs and David Claes about their home building and remodeling company with Adam and Richard sitting in. The upshot of the meeting was to have Adam and Richard put a plan together then get back to Patrick and David on Tuesday. Matt assured the two wizards he would be speaking to them before Tuesday. It had been a productive meeting.
After the meeting, Matt excused Adam and Richard telling them to get to work on the plan. If they needed input from the rest of the FF, they should ask, but he'd rather they do it on their own. Gas, Emilio and Matt spoke for another five minutes or so before going their separate ways to busy themselves until the 4:30 meeting.
/*/
James Wooley had been in London since 1:30 in the afternoon and had spent an hour or so exploring Diagon Alley making several purchases here and there. He could have gone to MCC early but it would have been unseemly for him to turn up expecting Emilio to hold his hand for several hours. He was a grown wizard who was fine on his own. It wasn't like he hadn't ever been outside of Italy before. At 3:00 pm, James showered, sat about in his underwear re-reading the text he had received from Emilio. Even though it was basically an outline, the position sounded interesting. The best part was he would be working alongside Emilio once again. He'd listen to the partner's pitches, but he already had a prestigious position which he enjoyed. James sat there for thirty minutes going over the pros and cons finally putting away his mobile to dress.
At 4:10 pm, James presented himself to the MCC Receptionist Witch.
"Good afternoon Mr Wooley. You are expected. Have a seat while I ring COO Lozier. It will only be a moment."
James had a look around while he waited for Emilio. Top shelf all the way. James thought to himself he could do worse. As he sat there, at least three well dressed wizards came by nodding as they passed. James couldn't help but smile thinking they were probably part of the FF he had heard so much about coming to check out the new blood. Then Emilio appeared with outstretched hand and a wide smile.
"James. Nice to see you. Get settled in alright?"
The two wizards shook hands.
"Nice to see you as well Emilio. I'm settled in just fine."
"Alright Minister, if you'll follow me, we can get this meeting started. Not that you can be swayed by mere words, but I'm hoping you have brought your yes hat."
James laughed. "In most circumstances Emilio, the yes hat is my only hat."
When the two men stepped into the conference room, Matt and Gas rose from their chairs to greet James.
"Good afternoon Minister. Good to see you. How are you?"
"Hello Minis…. Hello Matt. Sorry. Old habits die hard." James remarked as he shook Matt's hand.
Shaking James' hand, Gas jokingly mentioned that the room had more Ministers than the Italian Ministry to which James replied that a fair few still remained.
"Yes well. London seems to have a strong pull for the best of them." Gas responded.
James simply nodded and smiled.
With greetings out of the way, Matt got down to business. "You're here James because top management at MCC wants to offer you the newly created CMO position." He said, handing James a one page synopsis. "While the requirements and duties listed on the page may seem sparse and undefined, let me assure you we are working to fully flesh it out. As it stands, Emilio, Gas and I see you as a connector, if you will, interacting with clients to rectify any concerns while keeping them advised of company updates. As with any member of senior staff, the CMO will assist in landing new clients as well.
"A bit different from the duties of Policy and Procedure, but on par with the duties performed as Assistant to the Minister of Acquisitions except, in this case, you are in charge." Offered Emilio.
Matt nodded. "Exactly."
James glanced over the page in his hand before responding. It was an amazing offer to do basically what he'd done alongside Emilio, but… But why would he want to go backwards? Policy and Procedure was alright. Therein lay the problem. It was just alright. James thought he had his answer, but when he opened his mouth something else came out. "Gentle wizards. While your offer is tempting, it is a hard decision. I'm comfortable in Italy. I know every aspect of my position where here I'd just be the new dolt floundering around."
What!
Neither Matt nor Emilio had expected this answer. It sounded like James wasn't even going to think about the offer.
Emilio spoke up admitting his surprise. "Dolt? The last thing you'd ever be wherever you go is a dolt. While I respect your decision to turn down the position, it has come as a surprise. My impression was you were coming here with an open mind."
While Emilio was speaking, Matt took a few seconds to send a text.
James held up a hand before Matt could add his two sickles. "Hold on Emilio. Perhaps I was too obtuse with my answer. I am happy to be in consideration for this position. Perhaps I'm not as bold as you and Matt Emilio. Perhaps I'll need a minute to think about such a drastic move. I am interested. Let me digest the offer tonight and either way I promise to have a definitive answer by tomorrow afternoon."
No matter what he was saying, to Matt it sounded as though James was going to turn down their offer. He could almost sense Emilio's disappointment. It was time for him to become CEO Lozio. "Alright James. Let's do that. You take tonight to think it over and get back to me tomorrow. I think we all had plans of dragging you out tonight to celebrate joining the team. While we still intend to drag you out at some point, it will be a much more muted affair. I won't belabor the point, however, I will say our senior team could use another brilliant wizard. Even though we haven't received a firm answer, I would like to introduce you to our brilliant Third Levels who we lovingly call the Fantastic Five. No pressure, The Five know all the ins and outs and will be glad to give you some idea of what MCC is about. Spend a few minutes with them. They'll see you out.
As if on cue, Nicholas, Ezra, Caitlin and Adam appeared at the door. Richard had an outside appointment. Matt stood to introduce the four to James.
After the introduction and a bit of conversation, a smiling James followed the four out leaving with a wink and a smile commenting softly. "No pressure."
Matt, Emilio and Gas smiled at each other.
"He's going to say yes." Offered Matt.
"Ezra will have James convinced within the first five minutes." Added Emilio.
Gas let out a loud chuckle. "No pressure."
The three senior managers left the conference room with smiles on their faces.
/*/
Gas and Emilio tidied up a few things on their desks before stopping by Matt's office to say goodnight.
"Hello boys. Sorry everything ran long. Go home. I'll probably see you at some point during the weekend cousin. If there is an impromptu party, I'll text you Gas. I will definitely be in touch with you two as soon as I hear from James."
Emilio nodded. "Sounds like a plan. Even though I looked forward to night out, I'm chuffed it has been put off. I need to spend some time with my fiancee and fiance. Quiet night at home and all that."
"Alright wizards. I'll see you Monday or before. I look forward to see what we can do for Patrick and David. My regards to Hermione and Scorp Emilio. Goodnight."
"Goodnight Gas. Give Seana a hug for me." Emilio remarked as he sat down in one of Matt's chairs.
"Will do."
"Give her my regards as well Gas. I have a few things to clear up then I'm out as well."
"You're still here cousin. I would have thought you'd be sitting on Hermione's couch Guinness in hand with Scorp attached to your side by now. What do you need?"
"I don't need anything Matt. I have a quick question."
"Okay."
"With all that's going on, should we get the Fourth Levels trained up a bit more?"
Matt thought for a moment. "As opposed to adding more bodies to the FF?"
"Yes."
"That's a big step which will entail a number of things. Let's discuss it on Monday. Put us down for a 10:00 am meeting. I'll text Gas."
"Thanks Matt. Hermione wants us to either take James out tomorrow night or have him to Sunday dinner. If you're available, we'd like you to participate. Think about it."
"Thanks for the invitation cousin. Let me know what's what. My regards to Scorp and Mrs. Hermione."
"Will do. Goodnight Matt."
/*/
After Emilio left, Matt remained in his chair thinking about what he really wanted to do. For the moment, MCC would take a back seat. He wanted to visit East Flanders. Matt was dialing the mobile as he tidied up the few things in front of him.
Jake picked up on the third ring.
Hello Matt. If you've called to tell me MCC has changed it's mind about supporting us, it's not something I want to hear.
Hello mate. If you're through being an arse, I'll explain my reason for calling.
The only time I'm not acting the arse is when I'm talking business. If we're not talking business, you'll just have to go with it.
Matt smiled to himself remembering why Jake had been his best mate for so many years.
I've found myself at loose ends for the weekend. If you are going to be available, I'd like to come visit. Maybe take a look see at the old homestead and hoist a few.
I don't have anything planned for the weekend except maybe getting together with David and the boys. Come on through. Will you be staying with me or plunking that arse in a hotel?
If you have the room, I'm staying with you. Perhaps you, me and Davy can take a look through your business plans. How has Rte 515, #3 fared? Still standing?
You have a surprise in store. Actually, you might have several surprises in store. I mentioned seeing you to Mila. She hasn't stop nosing since. I've moved house since you and Seth left so I'll meet you at the Portkey Office. We can go from there.
Ah, Mila. A quick thought ran through Matt's mind. Kim would be so upset if she knew the pig farmer's daughter was asking about him. Matt shook his head. Where had that thought come from? He could care less what upset Kim and Mila was nowhere near a pig farmer's daughter.
You don't have to meet me at the Portkey Office Jake. I'm still capable of following directions. Text them to me. Just have a meal, a smile and a nice, cold Duvel waiting for me.
I can do that mate. What time will you be arriving?
I need to freshen up a bit. I'll probably be there by 9:00 your time.
Alright Matt. See you then. I'll text the details.
See you then.
Matt grabbed his suit coat, patted his wand pocket before heading directly to the company floo. He wanted a shower and a Portkey to Belgium.
/*/
Emilio was rushing so fast he had to backtrack to the bedroom where the newest brain game lay waiting to be delivered to his someday son. He'd made a special stop in Diagon Alley to pick it up and had been holding onto it until he quality time to spend with Hermione and Scorp. Tonight was the night. In his heart, Emilio was glad the day turned out as it had. He enjoyed being around James, but he enjoyed being around his little family more.
Several minutes later, Emilio stepped out of the floo into the floo area of Malfoy Estate to a small voice calling out.
"Mum. It's the floo. Someone is coming. Meelio is that you?"
Emilio smiled to himself. Hermione didn't really need to rely on Crissy, Dusty or Embers when she had an alarm named Scorp.
"Yes little man. It's me Emilio Lozier."
"Em-meel-lio Lo-zee-air mum. I think it's Meelio." Scorp remarked, sounding out the name.
Hermione met Emilio as he stepped into the living room. Leaving a kiss on her cheek, Emilio parroted Scorp as he ran his hand through the young wizard's hair. "Em-meel-lio Lo-zee-air at your service, but you may call me Meelio."
Hermione had a wide smile on her face. It seemed her wizard was in a very good mood. "Good evening Mr. Lozier. Have you come for your dinner and your Guinness?"
"Yes Mrs. Hermione. I have come for my dinner which smells heavenly."
Scorp laughed. "It's not heavenly Meelio. It's lamb legs. Right mum?"
Both Emilio and Hermione smiled at their boy. Hermione answered. "Yes love. It's a leg of lamb."
"With berries and jelly." Added Scorp.
"That sounds fine," admitted Emilio as he leaned down to give Scorp his allotment. "If mum allows, I also have a surprise for you."
Scorp was overjoyed but a bit reticent. "You brought me a present when mum was in the hospital. Is mum going back to the hospital?"
Hermione quickly stepped in. "Emilio did bring a lovely toy mobile back from Cyprus which you mustn't equate to me being sick. One thing has nothing to do with the other. I'm fine."
Emilio stood there dumbfounded. This young wizard with the enviable memory had taken deduction to another level. Asking Scorp to come sit with him, Emilio sat down on the couch and pulled the box out of his inside pocket. Returning it to full size, he handed the brain game to Scorp.
"For you young wizard."
Scorp turned to grin at Hermione then turned back to grin at Emilio.
"It's a new brainy game. I'm going to be so smart. Will you help me with it Meelio?"
Giving her fiance a wink, Hermione stepped in. "That's a fine looking game, however, dinner will be ready very soon. You may play the game after dinner. While Emilio is already very smart, I think Crissy or Dusty should help you."
Giving Emilio a quick side look as though waiting for him to say something, Scorp nodded at Hermione.
"Okay mum okay. Meelio can stay downstairs to give you kisses. Crissy and Dusty can help me. I like this surprise."
Neither Emilio nor Hermione commented on Scorp's statement. Even though the statement was inappropriate coming from Scorp, it was true.
"You like the surprise love, but I didn't hear you thank Emilio."
Scorp started to say that he thanked him with his mind but thought better of it. His mum didn't like that kind of talk.
"Thank you Meelio. I like my brainy game very much."
"You're very welcome little man. I'm chuffed you like it." Emilio replied.
"Very nice," added Hermione. "Let's put it away until after dinner. Crissy please."
Pop.
"You calling me Mrs. Hermione?" The elf inquired making a polite nod in Emilio's direction.
"Scorp has a new game. Please put it in his room for now. After dinner, I'd like you or Dusty to show him how to play it." She said, gesturing for Scorp to hand the game to Crissy.
"Yes Mrs. Me and Dusty be helping our little man after dinner."
Letting out a soft sigh, Scorp inquired if dinner was ready yet.
"Dinner will be ready in a bit. Talk to Emilio while mum checks the pots."
In a soft voice, Scorp mentioned to Emilio how mum should check the dinner not pots.
Emilio couldn't hold back the laugh. "Relax little man. When mum says she is checking the pots, she means she is checking on dinner."
"Oh okay," replied a puzzled looking Scorp. Checking pots meant checking the dinner. Scorp really didn't care how it was said, he was hungry and wanted to play his game.
/*/
Dinner was a happy time with Scorp dominating the conversation about various things: his new game: Chuggington: Clifford: putting on his jumper without help: Nonna and Nonno: And finally, trying to pronounce Emilio's name correctly.
Hermione and Emilio asked a question here and there but mostly just sat smiling. After the dessert, Scorp sat quietly waiting for his mum or Emilio to say dinner was over. When Hermione finally told him dinner was over, he stood in front of Emilio to get his hug and his allotment.
"I'm going upstairs now. Can we have a walk to the park tomorrow Emeellio? Tell mum okay. Crissy. Please come get me. It's time to learn my game."
Pop.
"Me and Dusty be helping you after you use the bathroom, get washed up and put on your pajamas."
"Okay Crissy okay. By mum and Emeellio."
/*/
The kitchen and dining room were clean. Leftovers all put away. Scorp was upstairs learning to play his newest brainy game. Emilio had a Guinness nearby. It was fiance and fiancee time.
"So Mr. Lozier. How did everything go today?" Asked Hermione leaning into Emilio.
"My day. Let me see. Where shall I start?"
"That doesn't sound good. Just give me highlights."
"Alright love. The meetings regarding SSE London went splendidly. We are now in the bidding process which will be complete on 11/6. We are taking on a new Belgian company at Matt's request, and James all but turned down our invitation to join MCC."
"What? James outright turned down the invitation. That doesn't sound right. Why would he come all the way to London just to say no?"
Emilio wrapped his arms around Hermione and kissed her neck. "Remain calm love. He didn't outright decline, but I believe he is heading that way. He's taking tonight to think it over and will text Matt with an answer. I think I may have pushed too hard."
Laying her head in the crook of Emilio's neck, Hermione spoke her piece. "If you pushed too hard, it was only because you saw a chance to get another brilliant wizard on the MCC team. Knowing James as long as I have, I can't imagine him agreeing to something for heck of it. Have you thought it just might be a bit overwhelming to accept a position in London when he's just gotten settled into Policy and Procedure? Perhaps he thinks he'll be letting down the Ministry. You know how he feels about letting anyone down. Let him sleep on it, then, then…" She said, turning Emilio's face so he was looking into her eyes. "Then, accept his answer."
Emilio sighed. "You're right love. Just because I saw a better future in London doesn't mean James will. Enough about James. How was your day?"
"My day was productive."
"Yeah? Just how productive was it? Did you go to the healer and find out you are five months pregnant with our son so we have to get married tomorrow?"
Hermione laughed so hard she had to make a run for the bathroom. She was still chuckling when she came back.
"So that would be a no then?" Emilio asked innocently.
Hermione started laughing again but reached out to give Emilio a hard pinch on the thigh calling him a drunken sot.
"That would be a definite no, but I've made strides. I have my wedding dress."
Emilio's ears perked up as a wide grin spread over his face. "Really? We have a wedding dress? May I see it?"
"No. You may not see it until it's walking down the aisle on my arse."
It was Emilio's turn to laugh. "Alright, I'll wait."
Lifting her legs, Hermione put her feet in Emilio's lap and leaned her head against his shoulder. "Hannah and I also found a wedding planner. Her name is Grace Leyton and her shop is located in Diagon Alley, or to be more precise, on the corner of Diagon Alley and Diagon Place. I have an appointment scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 am. Perhaps that would be a good time to take your someday son on his walk."
"Amazing. You have had a full day. About the walk. If I'm to take Scorp on a walk, perhaps I should spend the night. I don't want to be late for my little man." He added with a leer.
"I'd love for you to spend the night Mr. Lozier as long as your bottom remains covered by pajamas."
"Ah! That's my cue." He said, reaching into a side pocket pulling out several packages which had obviously been shrunken down. "I think it's about time your fiance had a few changes of clothing in the new used room for times such as this. Besides, it's tiring to have to apparate all the way to The Luxe to wash your sex off me."
Hermione began laughing once again. "You're barking. You've showered here plenty of times."
"Hush. This is my story and I'll tell it the way I want. Do you want to put my things away or shall I?"
Hermione stood and headed towards the stairs. "Go put your own things away while I go check on Scorp."
Emilio jumped up. "You only have to tell me once. Perhaps I might not come back to the living room. Perhaps I'll lounge about the new used bedroom…. in my pajamas."
Hermione chuckled all the way up the stairs. Her handsome fiance was indeed barking.

Before Emilio could make it to the new used bedroom, Hermione's mobile began to ring. He checked the Caller-Id. Mum was calling. Feeling frisky, Emilio answered.
Hello Carmela. This is Emilio. Hermione is upstairs putting Scorp to bed. Do you want to hold on for a minute while I get her?
Well hello Mr. COO. How are you? My girl left a message for me to call her. I know it's a bit late but I had to feed my big baby.
What Fausto? It's not Hermione. It's Emilio. I'm not speaking out of school. You are a big baby.
Sorry. Fausto says hello to you, Hermione and Scorp. He left out the house elves but I don't think it was intentional. Tell Hermione I'll call her tomorrow morning.
Okay Carmela but Mrs. Hermione has an appointment with a wedding planner tomorrow at 10:00.
Does she now? Tell her. No don't tell her that. Ask her to give me a ring after Scorp is in bed.
Will do Carmela. Give Fausto my regards. Goodnight.
Goodnight Emilio.
Emilio had just laid the phone back down on the table when Hermione came down the stairs.
"Carmela rang while you were upstairs. She wants a call back."
"Thank you for answering my mobile, but what if it had been my secret lover?"
Emilio rolled his eyes. "Harry Potter is probably somewhere chasing criminals. Besides, your mobile has Caller-Id. Anything else you'd like to add?"
Hermione sighed as she picked up the mobile to dial Carmela. "It's a sad day when a witch can't have a secret lover. I won't be long love. Go put your things away."
Emilio headed to the bedroom mumbling to himself. "Now there's the joke. There won't be any more secret lovers in this relationship. Right Draco Malfoy?"

Hermione spoke into the mobile.
Hello mum.
I know Emilio is there. Am I interrupting?
No love. You're not interrupting anything. My wanker fiance has stepped away for the moment. I need your input.
Do you now? I understand you'll be interviewing a wedding planner tomorrow morning, without me.
Hermione sighed. Emilio was getting as bad as Scorp.
There's no sense sighing. I know all about it. Do you need me to come with you?
No mum. I need your help with something else. I've found the perfect wedding dress but it needs some alteration. I'd like to use an Italian dressmaker.
Why Italian love? There must be plenty of fine dressmakers in London.
London does have plenty, but I don't want wagging tongues spoiling my surprise. Emilio will not see or hear about the cut, the curve, the sleeves or anything else about my dress until our wedding day.
Alright sweetie, calm down. Let me check around. I'll call you when I have something to share. Let me know how the meeting with the wedding planner goes. Love you. Kiss Scorp for me. Speak to you soon.
Love you too mum. Goodnight.
Hermione headed to the bedroom wondering just how quickly she could separate COO Lozier from his pajamas.
