Paint It Black-- Prologue
There is dissention in the ranks of the Grand Army of the Republic.
The Clone Wars has been raging for a year and a half. Most of the original 1.2 million clone troopers are dead. The new clones are being pressed into service with only a fraction of the training, and their growth rate is also being highly accelerated.
With everything being accelerated, instabilities keep occurring. The intelligence levels of the clones range from moron to genius; physical deformities occur; even some cases of mental instabilities.
Many of the new clone troopers start to believe that the Republic sees them as nothing more than the droids the Separatist Army uses.
To counter this feeling, the clones have started giving themselves names as the first step toward emancipation. With their first goal complete, they take issue with the other rights they feel they do not have.
With dissent brewing, mutinous behavior is being experienced and put down by the Jedi. Stim and intoxicant use has sharply risen among this new generation of clone troopers. With mutiny being in the forefront now, open rebellion cannot be far off…
