Crazy trouble with love part 9
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne
Series: Loud House
xxxxxxxxxxxx
We find ourselves in the relatively big town of Royal Woods, at the house where Bobby Santiago was currently in the middle of getting cleaned up in the bathroom. He was in the shower, humming a song to himself while eager for tonight.
"Gotta look extra clean for my babe!" he smiled as he dabbed some cologne onto his chin. He used his other hand to dry himself with the towel, putting the bottle down and started brushing his hair while outside the hall his sister walked up to the door and knocked.
"Hey Bobby! Are you done yet? I gotta use it."
"Hmm? Oh! Sorry sis! Yeah I'm done" he called out as he opened the door revealing his little sister Ronnie Anne.
"Finally." she walked past him before picking up the scent in the air. "Wait, why are you wearing dad's cologne?"
"Oh! I'm going over to Lori's place, she invited me over for dinner." he replied, not noticing Ronnie Anne frowning and rolling her eyes. "I guess I forgot to say anything."
'Of course it's that.' she thought in annoyance. "Well you'd better hurry up then, wouldn't wanna be late for the big important dinner." she closed the door behind her, letting out a sad sigh while Bobby went to his room. She could feel sadness welling up inside as she looked at the mirror. "Guess it's just me again tonight."
Bobby stopped, turning to the bathroom door and felt something click in his head. 'Hmmm, this might actually be the perfect time to introduce her to Lori's family.' he walked over to it and gave a knock. "...Hey Nie nie? Why don't you come with me?" he suggested.
She looked at the door, caught off guard, before shaking her head. "What are you talking about? She invited you, not me."
"Yeah, but I don't want you to eat dinner here at home alone" he smiled. "Besides, I think you'd like meeting her sisters, and her brother Lincoln. Little dude's real fun when you get to know him. So what do you say?"
*SIGH!* "...Fine, I'll go." she sighed in slight annoyance. "But I'm not gonna dress up all fancy."
"That's fine, we'll leave in half an hour." Bobby smiled as he kissed her forehead.
She watched him go into his room and close the door before she put her hands in her pockets and walked off, grumbling to herself. Now being invited wasn't so much the issue, but if it was to the place of the girl who her brother spent so much time with, leaving her alone while their mom spent a lot of time at work, then the issue was plain to see. Especially if what her brother said about her family being big was real.
*Franklin Avenue*
Lori was humming as she applied lipstick to her lips and sprayed perfume onto her face.
"Wow Lori, you're really going all out." remarked Lincoln, leaning against the doorframe. "I don't get what the big deal is though, Bobbie's come over tons of times."
"Yes, but this time is special, it's our 8 month 47 hour 10 minute and 22 second anniversary!" she smiled as Lincoln rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, real special."
"You'll understand when you get older, or find a girl dork."
"I'm just saying what everyone's thinking." he shrugged as the doorbell rang.
"Oh! That's him!" she squealed before bolting past him and down to the door before seeing Bobbie standing there looking dapper. "Boo Boo bear!"
"Hey babe! Glad to be here and I brought a guest!" he said as he stepped aside and revealed his sister.
"...hey Lori." Ronnie spoke in a shy tone.
"Oh, hi there." she smiled, crouching down a little. "Glad you could come, Bobbie's told me so much about you."
"He did?" she asked as she saw Lori nod. 'Huh, I thought all he did was gush over her.'
"Yeah he told me how hard working you can be and how it's tough for him to leave you home alone. Anyway I hope you have an appetite, my dad's making a big dinner for the whole family." Lori smiled as she led the duo inside the house.
Ronnie Anne looked up at Bobbie, letting that sink in, before her eyes widened when she saw numerous girls in the dining table, talking or arguing over each other. "What the…"
"Lana! Get that slimy toad away from my plate!"
"Don't call Hops a Toad, he's a frog you sparkling pixie!"
"Wow Luna, Lola sure is hopping mad tonight, hahaha! Get it?" smiled Luan.
"Sure is crazy huh?" Ronnie muttered.
"More than crazy, actually…Loud" Lincoln said.
She turned to the boy who tried smiling, making her raise an eyebrow. "And you would be?"
"I'm Lincoln, Lori's younger brother, it's nice to meet you!" he smiled.
"...Ronnie Anne." she greeted before shaking his extended hand and put her hand back in her pocket. "So….you're the only brother here?"
"Yeah it gets chaotic from time to time, but I wouldn't trade it for the world" he shrugged with her looking at the crazy scene.
"I take it things are never quiet."
"Like you wouldn't believe" he chuckled as she walked over and sat on the couch. "I'm lucky if it goes quiet for even an hour, and it does get pretty annoying. Having 10 sisters doesn't give a guy much privacy." he chuckled as she gave an eyroll.
"Whatever you say." she grumbled as she got off the couch and made her way to the kitchen with Lincoln following her. There Lynn Sr hummed while adding the final touches to the dinner.
"There we go Kids dinner is ready!" He shouted with a smile as they all rushed inside and crowded around the table. "I made sure to make a big batch, so there's plenty for everyone."
Ronnie gave a sigh and sat down as Lincoln sat next to her.
"The food looks great Mr. Loud." complimented Bobby.
"Thank you Bobby, the new recipe I came up with is sure to knock your socks off!"
"...But Lana's not wearing socks." Leni pointed out.
"No Leni he meant…..forget it just enjoy the food" Lori sighed.
All of them dug in with gusto, Ronnie Anne admitting in her head it wasn't half bad. Especially since it's been too long since she had a home cooked meal that wasn't made by her.
'Huh not bad.' she thought with a smile as she happily dug into the meal.
"So Ronnie, how is it?" asked Rita.
"It's really good Mrs. Loud, thank you."
"Well it's all thanks to Lynn here. He can make so many good things I don't know what we'd do without him." she chuckled.
"Dad's foods the best." Lynn chimed in while Lana stuffed her face, making a small mess.
"Aw shucks." Lynn sr chuckled Ronnie Anne finished her plate.
*five minutes later*
Soon the rest of the louds were done eating and had all left the kitchen leaving only Lori, Bobby, Lincoln, and Ronnie Anne alone at the table.
"Wow Lori, that was an amazing dinner."
"I know right? Dad is literally the best chef I know!" she smiled as Bobby kissed her cheek.
"What say we go on the porch hmmm? He smiled, making her giggle.
"Sounds perfect." she sighed as the two of them made their way out, leaving their younger siblings alone.
"...Sooooo Ronnie Anne…you play video games?' Lincoln asked awkwardly as she simply scoffed and rolled her eyes ignoring him. "...I'll take that as a no than….so…" he spoke again. "What sorta classes do you take? I ask cause I don't think I've ever really seen you around school."
"Does it matter?"
"Well I mean, I just thought I'd ask." he admitted, rubbing his head as she crossed her arms and looked away. "Um…hey, how do you feel about comics?"
"Boring." she answered.
'Okay…movies?"
'Not Interested."
"Alright so…."
"Okay Look Landon, I don't care about what you have to say alright? Just leave me alone." she grumbled.
"It's Lincoln."
"Whatever."
He frowned at her and stood up. "Ok, what's with you? I'm just trying to make some small talk. You know, get to know each other."
"Yeah sure, ok, whatever you say." she huffed as Lincoln frowned harder.
"Seriously, ever since you came here you've just been mean and for what? I didn't even do anything to you!"
She glared at him and stood up. "Why should I tell you anything when you're living a life I WISH I could!"
"What are you talking about? You're not making any sense!"
"I'm talking about the fact that YOUR sister is all Bobby talks about! She's the one who is always in his head! Me and him use to spend time together as a family, especially when our mom is busy at her job! Whenever he goes out on a date with her, I'm left alone. But you? You're complaining about no privacy? I would kill to say the same thing, because at least you have people there with you. Me? All alone! So yeah, in a way, you did do something. You have a big family, and a sister who takes up all the time from my brother, leaving me with more time by myself than I would want!"
"...How do you think I feel? You actually think it's easy being the only boy in a house with ten sisters? Ten sisters mind you who would sometimes out vote me during family vacations, stick their noses in my business twenty four seven, never give me any privacy, and have two parents who may love us all equally, but sometimes it feels like they just prefer them over me. It's bad enough that they'll often take the girls' side over mine even when it's obvious I'm innocent for certain things, and you're complaining about being alone? News flash missy, having a big family isn't always a good thing and some people would pay to have only a single sibling or even be an only child!" he exclaimed as he crossed his arms making ronnie anne frown.
"...wow…I…I guess I didn't think of it like that," she admitted in shame. She looked down while Lincoln took a moment to catch his breath. "I guess ... .I guess I just wanted someone to be mad at. I mean, if I get mad at Bobby it might seem selfish because I'm making him pick between me and Lori, but when I heard about you and how lucky you probably felt, I…I wasn't thinking, and that was stupid of me. Like, really really stupid." she spoke as Lincoln gave a small huff. "...Look Landon."
'Lincoln."
"Right right…Lincoln…I'm sorry ok? You're right, it wasn't cool for me to snap on you like that." she said.
"It's ... .fine." he sighed. "But just to fill you in, Lori isn't exactly the perfect girl. Let's just say her usual idea of keeping me out of her room is threatening to tie me up like a pretzel. I don't hold it against her, but something tells me Bobby might not see her as an angel if he lived with her like we do."
"Seriously? From all the mushy stuff he says about her and the way they act, I thought she was some big romantic who would worry about breaking a nail."
"Nah trust me, she's more like a crazy dictator who'd toss you in the basement if you make her chip a nail!" he laughed.
Ronnie snickered at the idea.
"I'm not even joking on the dictator's part. When she's left in charge she puts on her own uniform with sunglasses to really hammer it in home. It kinda makes me wonder where she got it from." he chuckled.
"Oh man, now I wanna see her act that way and have Bobby walk in, just to see what his expression would look like."
"Trust me, no you don't. She looks like a weird fusion between Taz from Looney tunes and an Ewok and let me tell you it's not a pretty sight. Her face gets all twisted and ugly and she resembles an extra from that movie return to Oz and I swear her face gets all wrinkly and bunched up like a bunch of moldy grapes and ... .and…..she's behind me isn't she?"
Ronnie Anne silently nodded, making Lincoln slowly turn his head and see his sister glaring at him with her arms crossed.
"Lori! Hi! Um…see…what had happened was….I was talking about…..Lynn! Yeah! I mean, we both know how she can get when riled up and you're not buying this, are you?"
"No, not at all no ... .you're lucky I'm in a good mood otherwise I'd make you regret it!" she huffed with a blush.
"Aww don't hold him against him Babe I think you look cute as an ewok!" Bobby smiled.
"Awwww Boo Boo Bear!...HEY!" she exclaimed, making the three of them laugh. "Not funny!"
*the next day*
Lincoln walked down the street, heading to Ronnie Anne's place so the two could walk to school. 'I hope today is better' he thought as he spotted the house up ahead with said girl already walking out and waved. "Hey Ronnie Anne!"
"Oh, hey Lincoln." she greeted as they both walked together. "I thought you said your sister drops you off."
"She does, but after what happened, I figured maybe we could walk together to school to show things will be better. Plus this way you can meet my best friend Clyde and our other pals."
Ronnie Anne gave a sigh and a smile before giving a nod. "Alright, lets go." she said as she followed him down the sidewalk.
It didn't take long before they came to the bus stop where Clyde was, greeting Lincoln with happiness before noticing her.
"Clyde, meet Ronnie Anne."
"Hey, aren't you that girl who knocked out Chandler's front teeth last week?' he asked as she blushed in embarrassment.
"...well to be fair he wouldn't leave me alone." she chuckled nervously.
"Oh no, I didn't mean it like it was a bad thing. If anything, that was awesome." smiled Clyde. "He's not exactly on our friend list."
"Tell me about it, he's such a jerk. Honestly, I'm glad you put him in his place." Lincoln said as the bus arrived. All of them got onboard with Ronnie following the two near the back where the rest of their group were. "Guys, might wanna make some room for one more, this is Ronnie Anne."
"Uhhhh Hi?' she spoke nervously and gave a shy wave.
"Ronnie Anne, this is Liam, Zach, and Rusty." Lincoln introduced as they all greeted her.
"So Ronnie, where are you from?" Zach asked her.
"Well I'm not a transfer student if that's what you think, but before coming to Royal Woods my family lived in New Mexico."
"She's Bobby's little sister." revealed Lincoln as the three sat down. "After a little…mix up at dinner, we got to talking and figured she could hang out with us."
"Well if you have any questions, just ask the Rust-meister." spoke Rusty trying to sound suave with a thumb to himself.
"Rust-meister?" she raised an eyebrow. "Wait, hold on, are you THAT Rusty the girls talk about?"
"They talk about me? What do they say? Are they awed by my good looks? Or is it my sense of fashion?"
"No, they mostly talk about how awkward and weird you are around them."
That made him blush with the others snickering. "Aw dang it."
"Ignoring the ignoramus here Ronnie, what was it like in new mexico?" Liam asked her.
"Eh, kinda hot and sweaty most of the time there. Lots of folks though, but we had to move after my mom got a better job here." she explained as the bus slowed down showing they had made it to school..
"You can tell us more at lunch." spoke Lincoln as the group got up and started to make their way off.
"You mean, join you guys?"
"Of course, that's kinda how it works." he joked which made Ronnie blush a little. "So, you want in?"
"Sure ... .I'd Like that." she smiled as they all walked off to class.
*later*
"Wait, your sister is THAT Lynn? The total sports nut?" Ronnie exclaimed in shock as Lincoln rubbed the back of his head.
"Yeah…..she's really a nice person deep down." he chuckled. "But she can get a LITTLE too into competition."
"Define little." remarked Rusty rolling his eyes.
"Wow, here I thought that was some rumor." remarked Ronnie looking at her sandwich before smirking. "Impressive, but I'm pretty tough myself, and I don't do any sports."
"Oh yeah?" Lincoln smirked back with a raised eyebrow before rolling his sleeve up. "Alright, hit me."
"What?"
"Go ahead and slug my arm as hard as you can."
"Why?"
"So I can really tell if what you're saying is true." he told her. "Go on, give me your best shot."
"Dude, I'm not hitting you." she shook her head with him chuckling.
"Ok, how about this? If you CAN prove you're tougher than my sister, I'll…pay for the two of us for a trip to Dairyland." he told her as he pulled out twenty dollars and slammed it on the table.
"Dang!" spoke Zach with the group surprised. "That's a pretty big bet."
"But Lincoln, you said you've been saving up." spoke Clyde.
"True, but consider this a worthy chance." he remarked with Ronnie Anne rubbing her chin. "What do you say? Slug me, and if it's tougher than Lynn, then it's an easy trip to the best amusement park in town."
"Hmmmmmm alright, Deal!" Ronnie exclaimed as she cracked her knuckles and slugged Lincoln in his shoulder.
"YEOW!" he let out, biting his lip and grabbed the spot, his friends wincing. "Ow…"
"So? How was that?"
"It was…pretty good." he nodded, rubbing the spot. "Alright, I'd say you win."
"Told ya, you don't need to do sports just to be tough." Ronnie chuckled as Lincoln gave her twenty bucks. "So, what day?"
"Saturday work for you?"
"Saturday it is."
*Saturday*
Lincoln was in his closet getting dressed. "Hmmm perfect!" he said, pulling out an orange polo. "Nice, clean, and free of stains."
Knock knock
"Yeah?" he looked and saw Luna pop her head in.
"Yo dude, you about done? Lori's getting a bit antsy."
"Yeah, let her know I'm heading down now."
"You got it." she gave a thumbs up and headed out while he checked himself in a small mirror with a nod.
"Alright, looking good. Hopefully by the time we're done she becomes a fan." he remarked before heading out, dusting himself off while thankful his sisters didn't bother him since he made it clear they were going as friends and wanted to show her how great the amusement park was, albeit with some teasing as per usual. "Alright Luna I'm ready!" he smiled.
"So's Lori!" she called out as he headed outside and got in the van with Lori smiling.
"So, ready for your date?"
"Lori." he groaned. "Me and Ronnie Anne just met and we're going as friends. FRIENDS."
"Riiiight, that's what I said when Bobby and I went on our first date." she giggled.
"Can we just get there?"
"Alright alright." she got the van going and pulled out before driving them down the street and towards Dairyland.
*at said amusement park*
"Lincoln!"
"Hey Ronnie Anne, sorry for the wait."
"Don't worry about it, Bobby couldn't stop blubbering about it" she chuckled. "So, ready to do this thing?"
"You know I am!" he cheered as they both ran off making Lori sigh in content.
"Reminds me of us when we first started dating," she told Bobby.
"You think they might hook up?"
"Lincoln says they're just friends, but if it could work for us, then I can definitely see sparks fly between them."
Back with the younger siblings, both had managed to get inside, getting their udder hats on the way, with Ronnie Anne feeling mortified.
"Do we really need these?"
"Relax, it's for fun. Everyone's wearing them." Lincoln smiled as they stood in line for the rollercoaster.
"I still look weird." Ronnie pouted as she crossed her arms.
"It'll all be worth it. Trust me, when we get on the ride, you'll completely forget about it." he told her as they made it to the front and sat down in the cart of the rollercoaster. "Just try not to barf." he joked.
"Oh please, I can keep it down no problem." She chuckled as the coaster immediately zoomed forward as she and Lincoln let out a loud scream.
(Later)
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were throwing up their breakfast in one of the trash cans, looking green around their faces as they finished.
"What was that about keeping it down?"
"Shut up." she groaned before puking her guts out.
*days later at school*
"You gotta be kidding me!" Ronnie Anne kicked her locker, trying to put in her combination again and tugged, but it stayed stuck. "Open up you stupid thing!"
"Need help?" she heard Lincoln ask her.
"No, I just need a little elbow grease." She inhaled and rolled up her sleeves before grabbing the handle and pulling so hard the door looked ready to come off, only for her to lose her grip and fly back, crashing into the wall and making Lincoln flinch. "Ow…"
"You okay Ronnie?" he asked, going over and helping her on his feet.
"Yeah, except now I'm gonna need a crowbar for that thing." she glared at it with Lincoln walking over to it.
"Or, counter idea, we try this." he cleared his throat, cracked his fingers, and proceeded to knock several points across the door before pulling it open like it was nothing. "See? Nothing to it."
"How'd you do that?" she asked, briefly swinging the locker door.
"Oh that's easy. They gave you the broken locker so you just need to give it a few swift hits at certain spots to get it open!" he told her. "I picked it up from an old tv show."
"Well thanks a bunch, now I gotta get my stuff and try not to flunk that big test."
"Before you go, I was gonna ask if you might wanna hang out after school."
"Wait, you don't mean-"
"No, it's not another amusement park." he chuckled, making her blush and glare.
"Keep laughing, see what happens."
"I was thinking of something more low maintenance, but still worth a trip." he blushed.
"Like…..describe low maintenance."
"You know, a quick stop at Flips?"
"Flips? Wait, you mean that store with that hairy guy who's a cheap tight wad?"
"Yeah exactly!"
"As long as there's no barfing, I'm in." she chuckled.
*Flips food and fuel*
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were enjoying slushies, Lincoln munching on nachos at the same time, with Ronnie Anne sighing in enjoyment.
"Now this is more like it. A cold slushie I can keep down is just the thing after school."
"You think these are good? Give the nachos a try." Lincoln smiled, holding out a tray of nachos for her to try.
Taking one, she popped it in her mouth and munched on it. "Hmm, not bad, not bad, but…does the cheese taste a little off?"
"Nah, the cheese always tastes like this ... .I'm not sure why honestly." he said.
"Eh, that's probably because it's a few months expired." remarked Flip from the counter, counting the money casually. "Didn't really see a reason to get rid of so much, so I just leave it there so it gets used. No sense in just throwing it out."
Lincoln and Ronnie stiffened up and looked at the nachos before dropping them and rushed to the bathrooms, where the sound of vomiting was heard.
Flip himself shrugged and went back to counting.
*2 months later*
"Come on Stinkcoln, lift, lift!" barked Lynn, watching her brother trying to lift a dumbbell up.
"I…can't." he let out, gritting his teeth as he was straining his arms. "Too heavy!"
"Dude's, it's just 3 pounds. I know your arms aren't THAT weak!" Lynn exclaimed. "If you can't push your body to it's limit, you'll always have noodle arms!"
"I….GAH!" he let it go, dropping on his back to try and catch his breath as Lynn shook her head. "Need…break…"
"How are you gonna get strong for your girlfriend if you can't even lift that?"
"Not…my girlfriend." he raised up a finger as he sat up. "We're just….friends."
"Suuuuure ya are, and I'm the queen of sheba!" Lynn joked.
He gave his sister a minor glare before looking up in thought and gave a smug look. "In that case, how are you and Polly doing?"
"Fine, why?" she raised an eyebrow.
"Well you two are friends, which sounds more like you're just nervous about how close you two REALLY are." he hinted, making her eyes widen and blush.
"H-Hey! I'm not into girls!"
"Suuuure you aren't." he threw back while getting up. "It's fine, I won't judge, your secret's safe with me." he chuckled as he headed upstairs to change.
"There is no secret!"
"I support you all the way Lynn!" he called back before closing his door and heard his walkie talkie go off.
"Clyde to Lincoln, Clyde to Lincoln, do you copy?"
"Copy Clyde, what's up?"
"Just wanted to tell you about something big! Our school is hosting a half seminar dance!" he let out in excitement.
"A dance?" Lincoln was caught off guard. "That's awesome!"
"Yeah! I was calling you to ask if Lori might be interested in going with me, is she there?"
Lincoln rubbed the back of his head. "Uh, Clyde? Did they say if you could bring someone much older than yourself?"
"I….actually I don't know."
"...okay point proven. Maybe try and ask Girl Jordan to the dance pal." he suggested. "It might be a good idea to try and look for someone else besides my sister. Who knows, you two might have a fun time."
"...well okay, if you say so." Clyde responded before ending the call.
"A dance huh?" Lincoln muttered to himself. "Hmmm, I wonder….nah, she might think it's cheesy and dumb." he shook his head. "Like Ronnie Anne would wanna go to some dance."
*With said girl*
"I don't know Bobby, this feels dumb." remarked said girl pacing back and forth in the living room. "I mean, it's a dance! You know, the thing everyone sees as all mushy and junk? If I ask Lincoln to go, even as friends, he might think I'm…ugh, going soft." she shuddered at the last part.
"Relax sis I doubt he'll think that." Bobby chuckled. "With how often you two hang out, I'm sure he'd be fine with it. Unless you wanna ask out some other boy."
"No. It's just…I just feel like if I don't go, at least once, I'll end up stuck avoiding anything like that in the future." she admitted rubbing her head. "I don't wanna be a weirdo who stays inside all the time, I like to get out. But a dance? I just don't want him to get the wrong idea. I just wanna go with a close friend, who just happens to be a boy, without it looking all weird."
"Well Lincolns the kind of guy who would understand if you make it clear right away. Just make it clear and frank at the start, and I'm sure he'd be fine with it."
"...yeah, I guess you're right." she sighed.
"Great, I'll get him on the phone." he got out his phone and speed dialed Lori, which didn't even ring once before she picked it up. "Lori? It's your Boo Boo bear."
*Lori*
"Boo Boo bear! Is Ronnie Anne ready?" she asked him.
"Yeah, can you put Lincoln on?"
"Sure, hold on." she covered the screen. "Lincoln! Get down here!"
Her brother rushed down before Lori handed him her phone. "Hello?"
"Hey Linc, it's Bobby. Ronnie Anne wanted to ask you something."
"Really?" he looked surprised before hearing Ronnie Anne clear her throat on the other end.
"...So…..Lincoln…you….wanna go to the dance with me….as friends of course!"
His eyes went wide, feeling his face heat up a smidge and gulp. "The…dance? The one at school right?"
"Well duh." she rolled her eyes. "I mean, I'm just asking you since it sounds all dumb and stuff, but….Bobby thinks I should."
"Hey!"
"Oh! Yeah yeah, same here with Lori. She's really twisting my arm." he chuckled bashfully before cleaning his throat. "But uh….yeah, I'll go with you. I mean, it makes sense. Just two friends going to have a good time." he chuckled as Loro gave a happy squeal.
"Great, see ya there!" Ronnie Anne said, smiling happily.
Lincoln ended the call and saw Lori giving him an excited smile, making him hold a hand up. "Before you say anything, I have to repeat myself. We're just going as friends, that's it, so don't get too excited and act like it's something different."
"Riiight, of course Lincy, anything you say!" Lori teased with a giggle.
"I mean it Lori, so don't go getting the others-"
"GIRLS! LINCOLN NEEDS HELP GETTING READY FOR HIS DATE!"
"...Awww Crud-Monkeys." Lincoln muttered as he felt the ground rumbling before he was swarmed by his sisters.
*The Dance*
Vanzilla pulled up in front of Lincoln's school where said boy stepped out, adjusting his orange tie while decked in a dark blue suit and white polo shirt under it with his hair slicked back with gel. "Oh man, why do these things have to feel like they're strangling me? This feels way too much."
"Relax little bro, the Tie makes you look great!" Luna smiled.
"And your hair needed to look nice, not like you just got out of bed." remarked Lola.
"Yeah, so go out and have fun with your girlfriend!" Leni smiled
"Friend!" he blushed. "She's a friend who just HAPPENS to be a girl, that's it." Lincoln stepped out of the van and quickly made his way to the auditorium. As soon as he reached it, he saw flashing lights, tons of kids dancing, a big snack table, with great music blaring all around. He tugged on his color and cleared his throat. "Relax Lincoln, this is nothing. You and Ronnie Anne are just gonna enjoy it as friends and it'll be done in no time, no reason to get nervous." he told himself as he saw Ronnie walking in wearing a blue dress and her hair down in a bun.
"Hey Lincoln." she greeted, looking down slightly with a red face while Lincoln himself felt like his breath was taken away.
"Uhhhh, hey Ronnie." he chuckled nervously. "You uh…you look nice."
"Yeah…you too." she spoke as the music began to kick in a slow jam.
"Well….shall we dance?" he asked.
"S-Sure." she nodded, both of them walking over to an area for room as they began to move to the song, albeit not looking at the other. 'Dang it! Get it together! You're looking like a total dork!'
'Wow, Ronnie Anne looks great in that dress. I'm so use to her rough side, I never noticed how…cute she is.' he thought as she grabbed his hands.
"Okay…lame-o…I'm leading." she told him.
"Oh! S-Sure thing." he obliged while telling himself to keep it together as they tried to dance together to the music, moving a little closer together.
"Huh, got some fancy feet huh?" she chuckled.
"When you live with nothing but sisters, you tend to pick some stuff up. Especially when one goes to pageants." he smiled, making her blush slightly as they continued to dance. "So…you're not so bad yourself. Who knew the tough Ronnie Anne could dance?" he teased.
"Oh shut up! Don't make it corny!" she chuckled. "Bobby just thought it might be cool to learn. Guess he was right, it's…ok."
"Yeah…Lori said the same thing." Lincoln shook his head, feeling less nervous now as the two moved together as one.
"Who knew the first song we'd dance to was this one?"
"Yeah, it's..pretty cool right?" he asked her as she kissed his cheek, making him blush. He looked at her with her smiling a little. "Ronnie Anne?"
"D-Don't think about it too hard. Just…a thank you. For agreeing to come I mean. A friendly kiss is all."
"Right right! Friendly." he nodded in agreement.
Eventually the music changed to something more upbeat, making the other kids really get into it, Lincoln and Ronnie letting go as he cleared his throat.
"So…wanna gorge a little on the snacks?"
"Sure!" he smiled as they headed off to the food table.
*After the Dance*
Lincoln and Ronnie Anne were in the back of Bobby's car as Bobby was giving Lincoln a ride home.
"So? How was the dance?" he asked his sister and her date.
"Well….it was fun." Ronnie blushed.
"Yeah, had a really good time." Lincoln admitted glancing out the window as Bobby pulled into his driveway.
"Well lil Loud, here we are."
"Thanks Bobby….and Ronnie?...guess I'll see you at school on monday, huh?"
"Yeah, see ya lame-o." she waved as he got out of the car. She watched him walk to his house before noticing her brother smiling back at her in the rearview mirror. "What?"
"...You kissed him didn't you?' Bobby teased.
"What?!" she blushed before glaring. "Of course not! We just danced and had some snacks, that's it!"
"Than why're you blushing?" he smiled as she covered her face.
"JUST SHUT UP AND DRIVE WILL YA!?"
"I can't see!" he cried, hitting the gas and went zooming down the road as Lincoln made it inside, sighing to himself.
"Sooooooo? How'd it go?" Lori asked with a teasing smile.
"It was fun." he told her as Lori noticed a kiss mark on his cheek and took a quick picture of it with her phone. "Hey!"
"Oh I'll bet it was." she giggled before showing him it, making his eyes widen. "So, when's your next date?"
"It wasn't a date!" he cried out with a blush. "Delete that right now!" he shouted as he tried to tackle her.
"Nope, in fact I'm gonna post this on facebook!" she shouted as Lincoln blushed and let out a war cry before rushing after Lori who took off running.
"HASHTAG BROTHER-IN-LOVE!"
"LORI GET BACK HERE!"
"HASHTAG WEDDING BELLS!"
"LORI!"
"HASHTAG SISTER-IN-LAW!"
"GET BACK HERE!"
