Located at the top of a large and ominous mountain, is where we find two ducks in the middle of a tense and dangerous battle.
"Give it up Scrooge, you can't beat me, your measly magic trinkets are no match for a true sorceress!" Mocked Magica, firing blast after blast at the rich duck who bobbed and weaved around them.
"Sorry to say Magica, but yer magic can't do much if they can't hit their mark." he taunted, sliding to the side and kicking a rock at her, which she dispersed easily with another blast.
"You may be lucky, but I only have to hit you once for this to end!" She laughed, sending several more blasts at him.
"Well unluckily for you, this is going to end tonight!" Scrooge cried, ducking behind a boulder and pulling out an old scroll from his robe. "Let's just hope this thing actually works."
Magica laughed and blasted at the boulder, burning through it slowly while walking towards it. "This is where it ends, Scrooge! This will be where Scrooge McDuck meets his superior! The very thing you say is a shortcut will be your undoing!"
"Wrong, it's yours!" He laughed, holding up the scroll as it began to turn into blue energy and started to flow into his first dime, held in his other hand.
Magica's eyes widened as her spell broke the boulder and hit the scroll, making her cry out as she saw her magic beginning to get pulled into it, only to see it begin to flow into the dime. "What?! What trick is this?!"
"The sealing scroll of Mouslin, the greatest wizard of all time!" Scrooge said proudly. "With this it'll seal you into the thing I hold dearest to my heart!"
"No! I cannot be sealed!" she cried, trying to break the spell. But all she got was a stronger pull as she found herself glowing and pulled towards the dime. "No! NO! You can't seal me! I am the great DeSpell! I am all powerful!"
"Clearly not, now make your peace and get into the dime!" Scrooge said as the witch raged and screamed, trying everything she could think of to get free.
'This won't end! I WILL survive!' she thought, her hand glowing as she started to float. A small glowing orb dropped into the ground before she let out one more yell, the rest of her sucked into the dime which glowed more a moment before going back to normal.
Scrooge blinked as the light died down, and the battlefield fell silent, with him looking around in mild surprise. "Bless me bagpipes, it worked…it really worked…" He looked at his dime, making sure it was perfectly fine, before sighing in relief. "Wooh, glad that's over with. 'Bout time I headed back home and take a little soak in the tub."
As he began to leave, he didn't notice a dark shape on the ground moving and forming around the dropped orb. It twitched and spasmed before taking on a shape with a pair of glowing red eyes that blinked and watched him walk away.
'This isn't the end Scrooge. I WILL have my revenge! It may take me time, especially without my body, but I won't let you get away. I'll follow you to the ends of the earth until I find a way to make you suffer!' She thought in anger. 'I will have my revenge, one way or another!'
With that, the shadow began to follow after Scrooge, albeit with some difficulty since she felt incredibly weak. 'Ugh… that bastard not only stole my body, but most of my magic?! Damn him!'
And so, for several days she trailed after Scrooge as he went across the country, getting into all sorts of adventures and danger. Magica watched him, cheering when it seemed he was about to die, only to roar in frustration when he miraculously survived whatever was thrown at him.
A few times she was tempted to try and strangle him in his sleep, but she kept her distance on the off chance he had something else on him that might destroy the rest of her. After a few more days she was watching in annoyance as Scrooge was making his way back to civilization, a gold idol tucked under his arm.
'I thought for sure that giant golem would have squashed him. Ahhh, never trust another culture's guardian to get the job done.' She thought in annoyance before spotting someone ahead, it appeared to be a female duck with blonde hair, hiding in a tree down the path Scrooge was walking. 'Hello? What's this now? A random thief? Oh! Maybe they'll have a poison knife on them. That'll put that old bird down for good.' She thought, watching eagerly. 'Though I do wish it was me who did that damn duck in.'
Scrooge kept walking, unaware he wasn't alone until the figure dropped down from the tree in front of him, making him freeze as recognition flashed across his face.
"Well hey Scroogie, it's been a while."
"Goldie." he replied back with a deadpan look at the smiling duck. "What in blazes are you doing out here?"
"Oh, you know, just traveling the world, seeing the sights, really it's quite the coincidence we're running into each other." She said with a smile.
"Right, and it has nothing to do with this?" He said, gesturing to the idol.
"Why Scrooge, I'm hurt." she put a hand to her chest. "Is it really hard to imagine we'd just happen to run into each other?"
"In a hardly traversed jungle like this where only few would attempt? Yes, as a matter of fact, it is. Well forget it, I worked too hard to get this idol, so scatter off and find some diamonds in an old abandoned mine. I'm not interested in cheap thrills." He said with a frown as he tried to maneuver around her, only for her to move closer.
"Now Scroogie, are you sure there's nothing I can't do to…persuade you to hand it over~?" She winked, making Scrooge's eyes widen slightly before shaking his head and glared.
"Not in a million years." He said as she pouted. "I'm not falling for that again Goldie!"
'So, these two have a history…interesting.' Mused Magica rubbing her chin. 'I wonder if I might be able to use this.'
"You sure can be cold to a lady Scrooge, you know that?" Remarked Goldie crossing her arms as Scrooge walked around her, but Magica spotted the duck grin.
"It's called being smarter than-WAAAAAH!" He let out, falling through some loose mud over a hole, letting go of the idol with it being grabbed before it could drop in as Scrooge hit the bottom. "OW!"
"Smarter than the smarties, huh? I wonder what that makes me then." Goldie chuckled, inspecting the idol. "Thank's Scroogie, it's been a pleasure doing business with you~"
"Give back that idol!" he yelled up as she walked off. "Damn you Goldie!"
'That was fantastic, oh how glorious it was to see that damn duck laid low!' Magica crooned, staring intently at the blonde duck. 'Hmm, she seems around his age, but is just as skilled with energy to spare. Which means her body will do perfectly.' She thought as she began to follow her in the shadows.
(Later)
"Ah, this is the life~" Goldie sighed in contentment, the duck relaxing on a large plush bed. "Thanks for the vacation Scroogie." she failed to notice a shadow slinking in under the bed and towards her as she stretched and cracked her arms. "I'll stick around for a bit and then move on to the next big treasure."
'You mean I will~' Magica thought smugly. She began to sneak into Goldie's back, said duck blinking and scratching around the spot, but not turning.
"Gonna need a shower, all that sweating is bad for the feathers." She muttered, getting up, unaware of a purple orb entering her back, disappearing completely inside her.
(A week later)
'Alright, I think it's been long enough, I've bided my time, anchored myself into this body, it's time!' Magica thought the dark sorceress appeared as she had before being sealed away, except she was inside a dark area, with tendrils of shadows entering in several places. 'Time to take this body for a test ride.'
She closed her eyes and focused. Meanwhile, Goldie was relaxing in her room, reading through an old book, trying to find a new place to rob.
"Hmmm, ooh, this one looks good, and it's close to a beach." She mused, rubbing her chin. "I bet I can find a few rich suckers who'd love to decorate their beach homes with artifacts from the beach."
That's when she started to feel an odd sensation spreading around her body, along with the feel that it was getting warmer. 'That's weird…' She thought, glancing at the thermostat only to see it hadn't changed. She raised an eyebrow and shrugged before going back to the magazine, figuring she could ignore it.
Unfortunately the longer she kept reading, the hotter she got, until it got to the point shoe could no longer ignore it.
"Figures the one hotel I break at has no AC." she grumbled, getting up and tossed the magazine aside. Goldie rubbed her forehead and walked over to the mirror, feeling like she was in a sauna. "I should call that bellhop, I could go for a cold drink."
"You drink this early? And I thought you had class."
Goldie's eyes widened before she looked in the mirror, and went pale since she was looking at what looked like a shadow with glowing red eyes looking back at her with a smirk. "What's going on? Oh god, was that idol cursed like those last two!?"
"No, but I have found a new body." the shadow replied before quickly slinking right into Goldie's shadow, making her yelp and grab the edge of the mirror as she felt a strong sensation go right into her with her head pounding.
'What's….going on, what kind of curse is this?! What did that thing mean by a new body?!'
'I'm no thing dear, I am Magica de Spell, the most powerful sorceress in the world!' chimed in a voice in her head, with her slowly losing a grip on her body. 'And I'll be borrowing your body to further my evil goals, and then I'll give it back when I have no more use for you.'
'No, no no no! This is my body, and I am not letting some shadow take control of me!'
'You don't have a choice.' laughed the voice before Goldie felt her body slowly stop and panicked seeing her head look into the mirror and give an evil smirk, with the eyes now more slitted and black.
"There, perfect~" smirked the sorceress flexing the hands and rubbed the cheeks. "A bit older for my tastes, but it'll make do."
'Hey, who are you calling old?! Give me back my body!' yelled Goldie while Magica looked over the body. 'I'm still in good shape after all these years.'
"Oh please, I could see the crows feet on your face from miles away. Now shut up, it's time to give ol' Scrooge a visit." chuckled the sorceress before heading out the room.
'What?! Why are you going to Scrooge?!'
"That old fool is the reason I was forced into finding a real body. He sealed my real body away in that accursed lucky dime of his." She growled as Goldie gasped in her mind. "So now I'm going to use your body to get my revenge and make him pay slowly and painfully."
'Not if I have anything to say about it!'
"Please, like you can do-OW!" she yelled when one of Goldie's arms slapped her, making her stop and stare at it in shock. "What? But how? You shouldn't be able to control this body!"
"It's my body! And this isn't the first curse I've had to fight off!" yelled Goldie in her mind before making her hand slap her own face several times.
"Ow! Ow! Stop that!" Magica used her other hand to grab the one Goldie controlled. "You're just hurting yourself you idiot!"
'I know what my body can take, this is nothing you witch!'
"Sorceress! I'm a sorceress!" she growled before one of the legs swung up and hit her from behind, knocking her on her face. "Oof!"
'Come on, I can do this all day bitch!'
"Ha! I've met plenty of people who said the same thing, but all of them succumbed to my power or perished all the same." Magica exerted more of her limited power as much as she could, but found the body pushing itself up and started running down the hall. "Hey, what are you doing? You can't run from me."
'No, but I can give you one hell of a concussion.'
"What?" Magica went wide eyed as Goldie was making the body run towards the curve of the hallway and not stopping. "No no no, stop you f-GAH!"
The body went head first and hit the wall, which got a crack, before the body landed face down and went still.
'Ow... that hurt...' Magica groaned before she realized she was in Goldie's head. Said head looked like an old ruined temple littered with all manner of gold and treasures. "What is this, does she have the mind of a cave woman?'
"No, but I sure hit like one."
Magica whirled around, only to get tackled by Goldie who had a literal club in her hand.
"So this is what you look like instead of just a shadow." Goldie raised an eyebrow seeing the duck's green feathers. "For an 'all powerful sorceress', I figured you'd have cleaner feathers. What, you like swimming around in kelp?"
"My Skin is this color because of the dark magic that has permeated my body, you uncouth brute!" she yelled before getting the club to the face. "OW!"
"Oops, my arm slipped."
"Liar! Now be a good host and let me have your body!" she lashed out and tried shoving Goldie off, but got the club across the bill again. "OW!"
"Oops, slipped again." smirked the blond before running and kicked Magica in the cheek, sending her flying back against a tall ancient looking statue before Goldie raised her hand up, causing treasure around the sorceress to start coiling up around the green feathered woman and cling to her. "Remember, you're in MY mind hun, which means I call the shots."
"Ugh… well that's where you're wrong, it's not just your mind anymore!" Magica said, her eyes flashing as the world around them starting to change, with half the temple starting to shift, changing into what looked like the inside of a large castle, complete with large stacks of books, cauldrons, and strange objects, looking like it had stepped right out of a fairy tail. "It's OUR mind now!"
Goldie looked around and scoffed while not looking impressed. "Cliche much? Sorceress, witch, either way you have really bad taste in interior decorating."
"Like you're one to talk! Since when were ruins and loose piles of gold in fashion?" Magica shot back. "Well either way, you better get used to it, because this is where you're staying for the rest of your life while I use my new body!"
"I've fought ghosts that were more threatening than you." Jabbed Goldie before throwing the club, only for Magica to bring her staff out and destroy it with a smirk.
"Did you really think that would work? How sad."
"No, that was to distract you." she smirked before pointing up.
Magica looked up and squawked as she saw a large boulder heading towards her, with her not having enough time to get out of the way before it slammed down on her.
"Ha! Take that!" Goldie dusted off her hands, but froze when she saw the boulder blown to pieces as Magica sat up with a scowl.
"My turn." She swung her staff, causing a glowing purple cloud to form before it changed into a flock of crows that flew at Goldie. "Go my minions, take care of her, and destroy her!"
"Damn it!" Goldie cursed as she began to run, the flock hot on her heels.
"As I was saying." Magica smirked before the camera zoomed out and showed Goldie's body getting back as the eyes became slits again. "Ow! Accursed woman." she rubbed the spot. "Well, at least it's still in one piece. Now to hunt down Scrooge and get my vengeance." She smirked, holding out a hand to summon her staff…only for nothing to happen. "What?!" She tried again and again, only her staff never appeared."What's going on? Why isn't my magic working?"
She racked her brain, trying to come up with a solution when it finally hit her. This wasn't her body, it had no magic inside it, and that scroll Scrooge had used to seal her body, it must have stolen her ability to use magic as well.
"CURSES!" she yelled out loud. "Oooh that wretched Scrooge! When I get my revenge, I'm going to make him suffer slowly and VERY painfully." She fumed, angrier than ever before, and her new headache wasn't helping matters either. "Damn it…damn it damn it damn it!"
Back inside, Goldie rolled under a statue as the crows crashed into it before disappearing. "Ugh, finally, stupid birds…" She muttered, crawling out after checking to make sure the coast was clear. "So, she wants to take my body? Let's see her hold onto it when I get my hands on her."
Goldie looked around, determined to find Magica, only to frown in confusion when she didn't immediately see the sorceress. "Now I just need to find that damn witch first." She muttered, looking around and eyed the 'Magica' half of the area, the large castle area. "I bet she's somewhere in there… right?"
With that she ran to it while outside, Magica walked down the hall and flexed the hands.
"Magic or no magic, I'll make due for now. This body really does have more life to it than I imagined." she smirked, passing by the front desk as she headed to the front door.
"Uh, miss? Are you checking out?"
"Yes, I have places to b-"
"Then you have to fill out the paperwork before you can leave."
She raised an eyebrow at him before smirking. "Oh really now?"
"Yes, you're…Goldie, right? Didn't you have a few days left on your reservation? If you want your money back you need to fill out the paperwork."
"I don't have time for something as tedious as that. I have more important things to take care of." She argued with a frown. 'Ugh, I'd love to turn this fool into a pig, or maybe a goat? Damn you Scrooge, you stole my one joy in life!'
'Hey, I paid good money for this place, don't just leave!' came Goldie's voice, making her eyes widen.
'Hey! You should have been crow food!' Magica thought in surprise and frustration. 'Now shut up and-'
'Your crows disappeared, and I'll get my body back soon, so don't you dare waste my money!'
"Um…ma'am? Is everything ok?" the bellhop asked cautiously, noticing how 'Goldie' hadn't said anything in a bit. "Do…you still want to check out?"
'Forget the useless money! It's nothing compared to my vengeance!'
'Hey! I stole a valuable idol for that money!' Goldie shot back. 'Ugh, where are you?! I want my body back!'
"Ma'am? Are you feeling alright?"
"I'm fine!" Magica snapped out in annoyance. She turned and marched off, rubbing her head.
'Hey witch!'
'Sorceress!'
'Whatever! Answer this, if you're gonna WASTE money, how are you gonna get that far? I know things were different back in the dark ages, but you NEED that stuff in this day and age.' She snapped smugly. 'I bet you've never worked a day in your life, how do you plan on doing anything if you can't even check out of a hotel?' She called as she ran around the castle, looking desperately for Magica.
"I am Magica DeSpell, the greatest sorceress in the world! I can easily get more of that meager change when I need it." Magica declared, unaware of the people glancing at her as she walked through the hotel.
'Suuure you can.' replied Goldie as she turned a corner and found Magica standing on a glowing spot, making her smirk as she slowly tiptoed towards her. 'Why, I'm sure you're so powerful you could wave your hands and make gold appear from thin air.'
"Well… I used to, but currently outside my mind my magical powers are…diminished." She forced out bitterly.
'Good to know.' Goldie tackled Magica off the spot, making her body stop and go still as Magica turned and saw Goldie's fist before it all went dark on her end.
People walked by the body as it stared ahead blankly before blinking and shook its head.
"Ah, much better." smiled Goldie, looking over herself. "Now then, let's see if I can find a way to get rid of that witch."
With that she made her way off, managing to grab her bag from the hotel and get the leftover money back, and trekked through the jungle with a map in hand. 'Ok, there has to be some artifact that can get rid of this parasite, one way or another!'
Back in the mind, Magica groaned and slowly came to, but found herself tied up in rope and held upside down over a pitfall. "Ugh, really? You think this is going to stop me?" She asked, shaking her head in frustration. She began to summon her magic and made herself start to float, first turning herself right side up. Then she burnt the ropes away and smirked, only to cry out when a tiger came up from the pitfall and bit onto her dress, pulling her down. "Hey! Let go of that, you insufferable cat!"
'Ha! So much for the all powerful witch!' Goldie called mockingly.
"Shut up!" Magica brought her staff out and zapped the tiger, making it drop down as she floated away and looked around. "Where is she?"
'In control of my body of course.'
"I mean in here you twit!"
'Oh, well why didn't you say so? Just take a left turn and you'll be in albacurky.'
"Albacurky?" Magica said in confusion, following the instructions Goldie had left. "What is that pl- AAAGGGHHH!" She cried out, ducking as several saw blades came shooting out of the wall towards her.
'Oops, did I say left? I meant right.' Goldie mocked, making the Sorceress fume.
"Oh, you rotten little trinket hunter!" She muttered in annoyance. "I'm going to find the spot, even if I have to rearrange this whole mind to do it!"
'You can try, but you'll never find it!' Goldie shot back. 'Now shut up, I need to concentrate!'
Magica fummed as she kept on walking, passing through a tunnel before seeing numerous poison darts firing out from the sides as a concentrated stream. "Really? Poisonous darts? Cliche much, isn't it?" She asked as he held up a hand, focusing, and suddenly the darts paused mid-air. She casually walked past them with a smirk. "How sad."
'And 3…2…1!'
Magica's eyes widened before feeling the floor under her shift, looking down and jumping to the side before fire burst up from where she just stood. Before she had time to catch her breath she heard a clunk as the wall she was leaning against swung inwards, making her squawk as she fell backwards. This led to her going down a long tunnel that sloped inward. She desperately tried to slow her fall, trying every trick she could think of, as she saw nothing but darkness ahead. "Waaaaaah!"
'Have fun, and good thing you're a duck, you know how much we enjoy water~' Goldie's voice chuckled as the tunnel suddenly ended and Magica found herself landing in a cold pool of water. 'Have fun, and try to get along with your new friends~'
"Friends? What in blazes are you-" she went wide eyed when she saw numerous crocodiles swim near her, each one licking their mouths. "DAMN YOU GOLDIE!"
(Later)
Goldie hummed, swinging from vine to vine through the Amazon Rainforest, having not heard a peep out of her 'roommate' in weeks. "I guess I finally found a way to shut her up, maybe she's gone for good?' She thought, swinging off one last vine before flipping through the air and landing on a large branch. She took a moment to look around and pulled out her map, only to drop it when her body went still and in a trance, the bird finding herself thrown off the platform. It was housed on top of a large stone statue, and looking to see Magica who had slightly burning feathers, her gown torn up, and several piranhas biting on her. "Ah darn, you. Couldn't you have waited a while longer?" She asked in frustration.
"I've waited long enough! It took me some time, but a few hours of those annoying traps you had set up were nothing compared to my power!" she gloated while one of the fish twitched without letting go.
"Hours? Uh, it's been weeks since I heard from you. And let me tell you, it was a better break than that hotel, that's for sure." Goldie gloated a Magica blinked, momentarily caught off guard.
"Weeks? Hmmm, time must move differently here…. No matter! I found you, now you get to enjoy spending some time in MY labyrinth!" She smirked, snapping her fingers.
"Ha, as if I'm going to let you capture m-" Goldie started, only to freeze as a magical ring of glowing purple energy surrounded her.
"Did you really think I wouldn't prepare before taking over?" she smirked before walls sprung up all around Goldie that reached the highest point while Magica stepped onto the platform, taking control again.
"Ah, much be-WAH!" she yelped, nearly falling over the branch before bracing herself and looked down. "Of all the places she had to go, it would be another blasted jungle." She grumbled, looking around and noticing a large temple close by. "Ah, that must be what she was going to… I wonder, these old temples usually have wonderful magic inside them~"
With that she slowly made her way down the tree before going to the temple itself. "Hmmm, ancient Mayants, interesting."
Inside the mind, Goldie struggled with the ring, but managed to still retain her leg movements as she began to trek through the labyrinth. Unlike her mind space, this labyrinth seemed stranger, seemingly in an old castle, yet something felt off, with random viles handing on the walls, to books being stacked on the ceiling.
"Hmmm, something's not right." she muttered with narrow eyes. "I just hope it's nothing too permanent, because when I get my hands on her beak, I'm gonna spin it around her whole head!" She growled, only to freeze as her foot sunk into the floor, causing a sharp click to go off. She ducked to the side, only to see one of the vials from the wall shoot out towards her like a homing missile. She turned and ran, looking over her shoulder as it got closer before reaching the end near a wall and ducked, causing the vial to crash into said wall. She watched as it exploded, with the liquid inside splattering against it, with it fizzing and popping.
"It's always acid." she rolled her eyes and carefully moved through the hole and groaned as she went down another pathway. "Let's get this over with. The sooner I'm free, the sooner I can wring her neck. I just hope it doesn't take me too long." She muttered.
(Later)
"Hmmm, let's see, maybe this will do it?" Magica hummed, holed up in what looked like a massive stump, a large collection of book and golden objects surrounding her. It had been a few months since she had taken over the body, and she was trying to make any progress on getting revenge on Scrooge. For starters, she needed to get her power back in this body, and her current brew might be what she needed. "Add a little gold and it will be ready." She muttered, reaching for one of the golden statues near her, only to freeze as she felt herself lose control. "NO!"
'YES!' Came Goldie's voice before Magica found the hand slapping her several times. 'I'm back ya old witch!'
"NO! I thought I got rid of you with that cursed pile of gold!"
'Yeah, well turns out those curses aren't permanent here! Also, being a gold statue isn't fun!'
"It's fun for me when you go quiet!" she growled before trying to grab the statue, but the hand poked her eyes. "OW!"
'Shut up! I finally found you, and as soon as I….ugh. Get control, you're done for!' Goldie grunted as the hand grabbed the cauldron holding Magica's new brew. 'All those curses, the traps, it was really annoying!'
"No! Stop you fool! I need that!" Magica cried out in horror, trying to stop the hand. "Don't you dare spill it!"
'Oops!' Goldie made the hand toss it aside, making it spill out onto the floor. 'Butterfingers.'
"NO!" Magica screamed, watching the orange brew turn a brownish color as it seeped into the floor. "You've ruined it!"
'Good, that made my day!' Called Goldie before Magica got pulled back inside, and found herself pulled into a chokehold by Goldie whose hair looked like a complete mess while battered up. "So tell me 'roomy', how much time has passed outside?"
"Three….glorious months." Hissed Magica, trying to break free.
"Well in that case, let's see if I can put you out for years!" Growled Goldie, squeezing harder.
"You can't…..need me!" Magica croaked.
"I need you like a dog needs a family of fleas." Frowned Goldie before Magica scratched her arm, making her yelp and let go before the sorceress tackled her and started choking her.
"Ha! Doesn't feel so good now, huh?!" She shouted, slamming Goldie's head against the floor.
Goldie coughed and wheezed, reaching to the side and grabbed a book before throwing it at Magica's head, only for her to duck and smirked while the book knocked over a vase that shattered with something falling out.
"Hmm, I wonder if you'll really perish if I keep squeezing? Let's find out, shall we?" She chuckled, picking up the object that had fallen out of the vase, "Say goodbye Goldie, I'd say it was nice knowing you, but it would be a lie."
The duck glared at the sorceress….and stared at her with confusion and stopped gasping. "Uh..what's that?"
"What do you mean 'what's this?'. THIS is what I-" Magica turned and went wide eyed, realizing she was holding onto a framed photo of Scrooge in a fighting pose with a smirk, making her feathers go pale and toss it aside. "N-Nothing! It's nothing!"
"Was that…Scroogie?" Goldie asked in confusion. "Why is he-"
"C-Clearly he's here because of you, it's your mind too!" Magica said quickly. "It's starting to manipulate and twist around my subconscious."
"No….I've never seen him wearing that outfit before, and we're firmly in your part of the mind." Goldie frowned.
"Quiet!" she yelled, only to get shoved off thanks to Goldie's feet as she got up and walked over to the picture.
"Yeah… this isn't from my memories….wait, there's a date on the frame… I was in Paraguay when this happened apparently." She looked it over and found a note on the back. "What's this?"
"Don't look at that!" Magica shouted, trying to grab the picture from her before she could read it.
Goldie ran from her and looked it over. "Scrooge, as soon as I retain my body and power back, I shall make it clear who is truly superior. And once I've proven it's me, I will….will….oh my." Goldie said, her heels darkening. "My, I never took you for someone so…passionate."
"LIES!" she growled while Goldie smirked. "It's all nothing more than lies and untrue!"
"If that was the case you wouldn't be trying so hard to deny it~" Goldie chuckled. "Well well well, seems the big bad sorceress has her own little schoolgirl crush on the man who took her down."
"Like you're one to talk! I've seen that duck's face carved on enough walls and enough portraits of him in your half to know you care about him too!" Magica countered while snatching the photo with a huff. "If anything, it's rather sad for someone of your age to be so obsessed over one duck."
"My age?! Oh, you're just asking for a beating now!" Goldie growled. "I've got plenty of spirit still in me! Especially if I've had to put up with you for so many months."
"Well regardless of that, you need to go now!" Magica huffed angrily. "I need to focus on getting my powers back, and I can't do that if you insist on interrupting me with these lies!"
"Lies, huh?" Goldie crossed her arms and looked around the castle half, walking over to a wall and feeling around.
"What are you doing?"
"Oh nothing, just trying to see if that photo was the only thing you don't want me seeing."
"Stop that! How about you spend some time as part of the wall if you insist on poking around!" Magica shouted, summoning her staff and shooting a beam of light at the distracted duck.
Goldie didn't turn around, but did hide a smirk as she mentally counted down and dove to the side, making the beam blow the wall open as Magica went slack jawed. Behind the broken wall revealed a hidden room with a large tapestry of Scrooge and her standing side by side, with various smaller pictures around the room in various other poses.
"Jackpot~" She chuckled as Magica paled.
"No no no no no!" She said as she launched herself forward, trying to put herself between the hole and Goldie. "Don't look there!"
"My my Magica. All this time you wanted to get back at old Scroogie, but it looks to me like you wanted something a little bit more~" Goldie chuckled, trying to look past Magica.
"Y-You're no better!" Magica shouted, pointing her staff at the other wall, and created a portal, showing a large room in Goldie's part of the mind that looked a lot like the room Magica was trying to hide. This one however had various golden heads of Scrooge, followed by a large chiseled one of the duck with muscles showing, and what looked like sunlight streaming in from the top to make it shine. "You practically idolize him like a god!"
"Hey! I'm at least not scared to admit I got a thing for the guy. He just happens to still have muscles for his age." Goldie huffed while looking away.
"Lies! That statue's not even anatomically correct!" Magica argued as Goldie stepped in front of the portal.
"Well at least I'm not trying to pretend I don't have it out for him. After all, I've known him for years. We have our own little thing going on." she gloated. "I make things more fun for Scroogie and he knows that."
"Oh really, stealing from him after he goes on a big adventure? Trust me, he doesn't like it, I think he's actually complaint about you during one of our encounters." Magica said smugly.
"Oh please, you're way too young to understand how ADULTS interact."
"Ah, so you finally admit you're old, progress." Magica said, taping her staff once on the ground, making the wall behind her repair itself.
Goldie scowled at Magica who did the same, before the former groaned and rubbed her head. "Ok, this is getting us nowhere. The more we keep up this fighting, the more of a headache it is for both of us. So, I say we make a truce."
"Really? A truce? Why would I go along with that?" Magica asked curiously, mildly intrigued. 'Worse comes to worse I can always turn her into a painting for a few months to buy some more time.'
"Do you like me messing up your spells? Or how about taking back my body and landing you in a lava trap in my head? This back and forth thing has to stop at some point, so here's what I propose. We tolerate each other until we find a way to separate us for good. That way you can do your own thing, and I can get back to doing what I do best."
"Hmmm, you say that, yet how do I know this isn't a trick?" Magica asked, her staff glowing. "I don't know about you, but from where I'm standing I've been in control longer than you have, and you take longer to get control back than I do."
"Simple. Because at any point when I'm back in control, I could just drop us in the river with a rock tied to our legs and that's it." remarked Goldie with her arms crossed. "And if you think I'm wrong, well then, you haven't been in my mind long enough to know when even I know when to play REAL dirty."
"That's not playing dirty, that's quitting, and if I know anything about you, you don't quit." Magica shot back, frowning. "If I die then so do you, and you're not going to risk that, not yet. I know from your memories I've seen that you've been in worse situations than this!"
"True, but you forgot something. I love Scrooge, and if you're going to go after Scrooge? Well then, I'll take that chance if it means he'll be ok. See that's the perks to being old, plenty of experience to recognize your emotions and know what to do for those you care about. Granted it took some time, but you can call my bluff, but then again, you also know how I am with gambling."
Magica stared at her and paused. There was a chance she was bluffing… but could she really risk it? If she was crazy enough to actually go through with it… there had to be a solution, one that didn't get her killed. "...There will be conditions." Magica said slowly. "Who gets to be in control?"
"We swap around obviously. You get a turn, I get a turn, and we keep it going. That way neither is out of the loop for months on end."
"How do we control these swaps? I somewhat enjoyed catching you off guard." MAgica chuckled.
Goldie smirked and clapped her hands, a large grandfather clock popping up in the room. "Any time this fella dings, it means it's time to switch, no matter what's going on outside. That way it's fair." She argued as Magica inspected the clock. "We'll also move the control spot to the middle, in a place we can both easily access, agreed?"
"Maybe… I do hope you won't mind me putting you under a small curse after I take over." Magica chuckled.
"Oh? And what did you have in mind?"
"Oh, I might throw a hex or two at you when we swap, I can't use my magic outside our mind at the moment, and I'd hate to get rusty." She chuckled.
"Be a good girl and I might allow it, and I'll even throw in a knuckle sandwich to make it fair." smirked Goldie.
"Maybe, I wouldn't be too worried about it, your muscles are too frail to do any damage." Magica said dismissively as she inspected the clock. Instead of a normal face, it instead had two hands, one with Magica's name and one with Goldies, and both were at the very top, as if they were waiting for someone to take control. "What happens if I need to take control early, if you get into some magical trouble?"
"Then you add the time you stole from me to my next turn. Ask first though." Goldie said cautiously.
"Fair enough. I assume it's your turn now?"
"I'd wager so. The clock will start when one of us takes control." Goldie explained, only to pause.
"So I could take over right now, isn't that right?" Magica smirked. 'You may think you're in control Goldie, but you've only prolonged the inevitable.'
"You could, but ya can't!" She called before running over to the platform.
"I think I can!" Magica declared, letting off a wave of magic she had been preparing since Goldie brought up the grandfather clock. She smirked as the wave hit Goldie, making her freeze as she found herself shot up to the ceiling, finding herself stuck up there. "Sorry, but I have a magic potion to clean up, see you later~"
"Why you rotten little-" Goldie growled as Magica retook over the body and looked at the mess with a smirk.
"Sorry Goldie, just playing by the rules you set up~" She sang before she went to work cleaning up the leftover potion with a chuckle. "I always loved playing dirty."
'You'll pay for that, you discolored duck!'
"Come come Goldie, even I'm polite not to call someone by the color of their feathers."
'That's not what I-ugh…just don't waste anymore gold on potions. People would pay an arm and a leg just for a pile of that stuff.'
"No promises, the rarer and more expensive the ingredients the more potent they are for potions."
'At least try and save some for later. Living inside a stump is not the way to go in life.'
"Oh please, it's a magic stump thank you very much, and it's the best we could do, I already drained your bank accounts getting the supplies I needed for the potion you wasted."
'YOU WHAT?!'
"Hey, not my fault magic is expensive when you can't use it."
'Do you have ANY idea how long it took me to save all that up!?'
"Couldn't have been too long seeing how you seem to be blowing all the money you get on fancy hotels." Magica argued. "Now be a good….parasite? Mind thing? Whatever, just shut up now.'
'Says the duck who could make teenagers cringe with how dark her taste in fashion is…' Goldie scoffed. 'At least I can still talk, how long until that spell wears off?'
"Don't know, it's been a while since I used it." She shrugged. "Could be a few minutes, could be days."
'Of course it could.' groaned Goldie.
(Later)
"Yes….yes… this might be it….maybe." Magica cooed as she stared at an old tome.
'Leaning more to a good maybe?'
"Possibly, only this answer hasn't been seen for nearly five thousand years."
'Something tells me you have something in…my mind? Yours? Ugh, this can get confusing at times.' Goldie groaned.
'Our mind? Even if I did nothing I have in there can be used in the real world, it's just knowledge I've read or wanted to read.' she thought before putting the tome in the backpack before a loud ding went off making her groan.
'My turn.' called Goldie before taking over her body and sighed with a smile. "Well, we made some progress, so I'd say that calls for a break."
'Break? What break' Magica called, trying to get used to being back in the mind once more. 'And why am I on a platform surrounded by spiders?!'
"So you wouldn't get lonely in there." She smirked while making her way out of the old house the tome was in. "Say… out of curiosity, how rare is this tome?"
'It's one of a kind, made in….no, no, don't you dare!' Magica shouted.
"What? I wouldn't DREAM of finding someone who could use one of those."
'Goldie that is rare and has been in my family for generatio-'
"Ooh, so it hasn't been on the market before. Jackpot~"
'It might hold the key to giving me a body!'
"Right, but I was thinking afterwards. What price would you put? 20 grand? 50 grand?"
'50 grand?! That is one of the oldest books known to man, it was inscribed from a temple long since lost to time! 50 grand is a pittance compared to its real value!'
"You do realize that just makes me want to sell it more, right?"
'...GAH! Just don't!' Magica groaned.
"Mmmmm, nope~" Goldie chuckled. "How can I say no to a one way trip to the easiest payday I've ever had?"
'Ugh! Back when me and my brother ruled over a village, we didn't need to go out and worry about money, we were given it as tribute by the villagers themselves.'
"Well, apparently that didn't turn out well." Goldie chuckled as she shook her head. 'I'll take pictures of the book before I sell it, it'll be as if she still has it, and I get a payday~'
'I heard that.'
"Yeesh, someone needs to lighten up." Goldie rolled her eyes before getting a devious idea. "I know how. Why don't you tell me more about this crush you have? I'd love to know just how deep it goes."
'Nope, no, I am not talking about this!'
"You mean about Scroogie?"
'You can't make me! I refuse to even say his name!'
"Oh please. What you wrote on that note of yours more than told me plenty. If you were wanting to do THAT to him, something tells me he was your first crush, wasn't he?"
'No! He….well…it's complicated.' Magica confessed.
"Try me."
'Well, since I was a baby I trained with my brother to learn magic, until Scrooge came, my brother was the only one who was my equal, who could challenge me. Once I met Scrooge though… he could actually fight me on equal terms without magic! He actually won!'
"Which is why you don't have a body anymore."
'Yes, but even then, as I pined over revenge for what he did, I guess somewhere in me, I was amazed and respected him. I…just didn't want to sound weak by admitting it.'
"Hey, it's normal, he was the only guy who could get you excited, who you saw as more than just an annoyance I assume?"
'Correct.'
"That can happen to anyone. Someone new shows up in your life, does something you've never dealt with, and it feels like something inside you wakes up. Like you want to know more about them, but try to keep it down because you're not use to it." Goldie said, a fond smile on her face. "Scroogie is the only guy who has even given me a challenge, who is willing to fight back against me, actually has a spine. Even if he can be a bit annoying with his motto and principles, I can't help but respect him."
'And desire his body.' Magica called out with a smirk. 'You may mock me, but I saw his statues, you want him bad~'
"Of course I do. If he can give me a run for my money, then it just means he's got plenty more energy to spare."
'Then why play games? If you do desire him, why spend so much time playing this game and not just say it?'
"Because that would be boring! I don't want to be a little housewife, living a married life, I love my life as it is, and while I may love Scroogie too, that doesn't mean I'm ready to just give it all up for him."
'You were ready to die for him, but you don't want to give up stealing gold for him?!'
"Even I have principles. Golds too good to give up at the drop of a hat. Besides, it's part of who I am, just like Scrooge's thing is to be the richest duck in the world." She chuckled. "Speaking of which, time to trade that dusty old tome for some gold~"
'Don't you dare! My body, remember!?'
"Not for a while, it's not." Goldie teased. "You can stop me in oh….say a month or so?"
'You insufferable-'
Ding.
'Ha! My turn!' called Magica before taking control, smirking and crossed her arms. "I'm sorry, what were you saying again?"
'HOW?! That was less than an hour!' Goldie screamed in frustration and confusion.
"Don't ask me, it's YOUR clock." She chuckled. 'One that can also be sped up apparently too~'
'You messed with it!'
"Prove it!"
'Oh you no good…better idea. Keep going in my body, and while you're at it, I'll just be here talking about some of my times with Scroogie, and the times he got ALL nice and sweaty~'
"No, no, don't you dare! I will cure you damn it!" Magica shouted, shaking her head.
'Or what about the times we had to lose some clothes while in the water? How each drop dripped down his body.'
'I will curse you Goldie, I have a few prepared spells in there! Do you want to spend the rest of your time waiting for your turn as a book?!'
'Then fess up!' Goldie demanded. 'Confess that you messed with the clock!'
"Just a smidge alright!" Magica confessed. "Only a little!"
'Ah-ha! I knew it!'
"I was just testing a theory out, that's all!"
'Then give up control and give it back to me, I'm owed my turn damn it!' Goldie demanded.
"Well… I don't know about that, the clock says it's my turn now."
'BECAUSE YOU CHEATED!' Goldie shouted. 'NOW GIVE ME MY BODY BACK NOW! NO MAGIC EITHER!'
'I could probably turn her into a book or a goat… but then she'd be even more annoyed when she eventually takes control.'
'I heard that!'
"Fine, if you spin the hands on the clock back to the top it'll think your time is up."
'Good to know.' She thought as Magica heard a ding quickly after. 'My turn!'
"Hey! That's c-" She couldn't finish before Goldie took control again.
"There, now we're good, and I have a pawn shop to visit!"
'GAAAAAH!' Magica thought in frustration.
"Don't you even think of touching that clock again or I swear, I'll make you pay!"
'Then don't sell that tome you gold digger!'
"My body, my decisions, and I guarantee that if you touch it you'll be sorry." Goldie smirked.
'Oh please, like I haven't heard that one before.' Magica said as she rolled her eyes and looked at the grandfather clock. 'No one tells me what I can and cannot do in my own mind!'
"Ok, go for it then." She said smugly. 'Three…two…one…'
'GAH! HOW DARE Yo-' Magica's voice started, only to cut off abruptly. In their mind, the sorceress was replaced by a large book, with a very pissed off witch on the cover.
"Ah, silence." Goldie hummed to herself. 'There's probably something poetic about using her magic against her….eh, she'll probably complain about it later when she gets back to normal, but for now, I have some gold to make~'
(Later)
"You know I never understood why peasants thought this would work." Remarked Magica, holding a handful of gold coins while tossing one after the other into a water fountain. "Making a wish and throwing a coin away? Their lives must be so dull."
'If you don't think it'll work why are you throwing my money away?!'
"To upset you of course." she smirked while tossing away two at a time. "Consider it, oh what was it again? Ah yes, justice."
'Is this really about that stupid book?! Or that weird silver I pawned off?!' She asked in disbelief. 'I took pictures!'
"Blurry ones that I can hardly read!" She huffed while anyone around looked at her oddly. "If I can't have that which rightfully belongs to me, then you can sit there and watch as your precious gold is wasted on something so trivial."
'Those are rare gold coins! Each is worth hundreds!'
"Shhh, do you hear that?" Magica went quiet while tossing another in. "Ah, the sweet sound of karma. I think I'll toss three in next."
'You sadistic witch!'
"That I am, that I am." she let out a maniacal laugh.
"Mommy? Why's that lady talking to herself?" a little boy asked his mother who quickly pulled him to her.
"Don't draw attention to yourself or point at the crazy lady honey, it's rude."
"Hmm, perhaps I can spend a few of these to improve our appearance." Magica mused, looking at what she was currently wearing.
'Hey, my clothes are fine as they are!' Goldie protested.
"Mmmm, I don't know, our hair for one thing could definitely use an upgrade."
'Hey, there's a reason my name's Goldie.'
"Mmm, I think dying it black would suit us better, don't you think?" She mused, looking down. "I also know there are some wonderful magical objects for sale that could make us a few decades younger too."
'You are NOT making my hair black.' Goldie said with a frown. 'You may be in my mind, but I draw the line there, no dying my hair, no tattoos, no curses, nothing!'
"Ugh, you are such a buzzkill." she rolled her eyes. "Throw me a bone here. If I can't add something, it feels…bland and boring."
'...Fine, I will…compromise on some new clothing, but nothing too crazy! I'm not going to go around looking like a goth reject!'
"Deal." smirked Magica. "And when I'm done, you'll be thanking me for spicing up this…wardrobe."
'Some reason I doubt that.' Goldie groaned. 'Some reason I can't help but feel like this won't end well.'
(Later)
'Ugh, I can't believe you bought all those clothes… they were too expensive!'
"Oh don't be stingy. I wanted enough options to choose from." Magica huffed. "Besides, you 'approved' most of them, didn't you?"
'That's not the point!'
"Oh I beg to differ." Magica boasted.
'Yeah, well don't get used to it, once we finally find a way to separate us you're paying me back for those outfits!'
"Relax, once I have my magic I can conjure up enough gold to satisfy your obsession." She said, rolling her eyes.
'Yeah, I'll have to pass on any magic gold you offer me, if it's anything like the gold in here I'll just get cursed.'
"If you know it's cursed, why do you keep falling for it? I've yet to see a time you haven't tried to grab a piece of gold in my mind one way or another."
'...force of habit.' Goldie sighed. 'Look, can we talk later, in private? I have a… favor I need to ask.'
"Oh very well." She sighed. "Does it have to do with gold again? Or maybe it's a request for me not to defeat Scrooge?"
'Kinda….I need to borrow the body for….five months.'
"Five months!?"
'Yes, now hear me out-'
"You're wanting to control our body for nearly half a year!? Not on your life!"
'Please, I've been reading your books, and you have the location of the Golden Witch's old coven spot, no ones found it before, and it's full of treasure, it could be one of my biggest pay day yet!'
"Really? THAT'S what this is about?"
'Hey, treasure is important! Plus, it's a magic place, right? Maybe they left something there you can use?'
"With your obsession, I highly doubt it." Magica scoffed. "Even if there was a chance to find something that would separate us, I'm not giving you control for five months!"
'Aw come on! Have a heart.'
"I do, and you'd have to offer me something more than gold to agree to that!" Magica said with a frown.
'Like what?'
"Well, I suppose... if you get the body for half a year, I want it for a full year in exchange." She said smugly.
'What?! That's not equal at all!'
"Who said it was? If this is such a big deal for you, then surely paying a year for it is worth it~" she cackled, making Goldie growl.
'You black hearted witch! Can't you be reasonable just once?!'
"You've been in my head numerous times. You tell me."
'Well, from what I can talk all you want is more magic and… Scrooge?'
"Hey! Don't try to distract me with that!" she blushed.
'Well you can't have him... but I might be able to get you some magic.' Goldie offered.
"Oh I'm SO sure."
'I'm serious, I guarantee that if you give m control, I will give you some kind of magic in some way shape or form.'
"..."
'C'mon, what's the worse that happens, you get to relax for a few months?'
"...fine."
'Really? YES!' she cheered before Magica was pulled out of control with Goldie sighing in relief.
"Yes! It's good to be back in control!" Goldie chuckled.
'Don't get used to it, you have five months, and not a second more!'
"Yeah yeah, keep your panties on." Goldie said as she rolled her eyes. "Now then, I have a treasure hunt to go on~"
'Hopefully it goes by quickly.' Magica sighed.
(Five months later)
"Wooh! That was crazy!"
'We nearly died!' yelled Magica while Goldie was lugging a sac over her back. 'That was the most insane thing I've ever seen!'
"Eh, it wasn't that bad, and it wasn't a wasted effort and that's what counts~" Goldie chuckled, patting the sack.
'Well I've been keeping track, and it's time you step aside.' Magica called smugly. 'A deal's a deal~'
"Wait wait wait, not yet, at least let me cash this in and enjoy it!"
'Nope~' Magic's called as Goldie froze. 'Don't forget, you also owe me some magic.'
"No no no nooooooooo!" Goldie shouted as she felt herself losing control.
'Yes!' Magica exclaimed, the sorceress taking control once more. "Oh, it feels good to have a body again!"
'Oh come on! I wasn't ready!' Goldie groaned. 'You couldn't have given me at least one day to enjoy this?!'
"I waited five months exactly, you know that~" she sang before slowly stopping and blinked. "Wait a minute. Where even are we?"
'Well, uh… I think we should be near a city?'
Magica looked down the road and saw it leading into a town. "You had control over this body and didn't even bother to know WHERE we were going?"
'I never said that! Look, it's just a small boring town, you don't have to go there, really!' Goldie chimed in quickly.
"Wait….you're hiding something, aren't you?" she narrowed her eyes.
'What? Of course not.'
"You think I'd fall for that? The tone in your voice says it all."
'No, really, it's just a dead end port town, they hate witches there!'
"Good thing I'm not a witch, I'm a sorceress." Magica said, narrowing her eyes as she marched forward towards the town. "You're usually better at lying, whatever you're hiding must be bad if you're this desperate."
'Hey how about that magic huh? Why don't we focus on that and not this nowhere town of-'
"Duckburg? Who names their home that?" Magica raised an eyebrow when she came across the sign. She looked over the town and began to realize this wasn't just a town, it was a city. "Goldie… what is going on?"
'...'
"You can either tell me now or I go down there and make a bad name for ourselves."
'...Do you promise not to do anything crazy?'
"Out with it woman!"
'Scrooge lives here!'
Magica's jaw dropped hearing that. "He…what?"
'He lives here, alright? Just promise me that you won't try to kill him or hurt him or anything like that!'
"Oh I'm not going to do any of those." she gave a dark chuckle that slowly escalated into a laugh. "I'm going to make him WISH he had never met me!"
'Magica, no, don't you dare hurt him!' Goldie shouted. 'I swear if you even try to harm him I'll…I'll…'
"You'll do what?"
'I'll take over, I swear I'll do it, and I'll tell Scrooge to destroy us!' She shouted. 'Why are you even doing this, I thought you loved him!'
"Of course I do." she confessed with a blush. "Which is why when my magic is restored, after I get my body back, I'll do to him what he did to me. Entrap him in his own dime, and keep it for myself. That way he'll be mine for the rest of existence."
'You're crazy! That's not love you magic nutjob!'
"Of course it is. Love is wanting to be together forever and ever after all. That's no different."
'Yes it is! Who taught you this shit?!'
"Like you're one to talk! Robbing someone time and time again isn't love either!"
'It's called subtle flirting!'
"Regardless. I'd be doing us both a favor. This way he can never leave or perish."
'He'd want to die if he was stuck like that! You know he wouldn't want to live like that!'
"Ugh!" Magica facepalmed and groaned. "Fine! Then what do you suggest we do? Sing some cheesy romantic dribble of a song? Or ask him out to some annoying and nauseating ball?"
'I….well… we could talk to him. When was the last time you actually talked to him that wasn't in a fight?'
"Never. I've literally been in your body after we fought." she deadpanned.
'See! Also, how do you know you'd be able to capture him in that coin? Your mind is stuck in my body, remember?'
"With how precious his dime is, I'd use the power from it to free my body and therefore get my magic back. Honestly, you should understand magic at this point now." she rolled her eyes before heading into the town.
'Come on, you don't want to do Scroogie in like that!' Goldie protested, racking her brain for an answer.
"Well the chances of finding him in this place is low. Honestly, you peasants of modern day make things far too cluttered." She remarked looking at the tall buildings. "How are we suppose to talk to Scrooge if we can't find him?"
'Yes…YES! You can't find him, if you can't find him, you can't hurt him!'
"Keeping him close to us in his own dime would have kept him plenty safe!" she yelled before turning the corner and hit someone, dropping the sack. "Ow, watch it!"
'MY GOLD!'
"Goldie?" a familiar voice asked, making the sorceress freeze as she stared Scrooge right in the eye.
'Scrooge!' Yelled Goldie before quickly taking back control and was wide eyed before giving a smile quickly. "Well hello there Scroogie, fancy running into you."
"Aye, what in blazes are you doing back h-" He started, only to see the sack the blonde duck was picking up.
"Oh nothing much? Just looking for a seller is all. You know how it is."
"Aye, and which unfortunate soul did you steal from this time?" He shot back with a raised eyebrow.
"None. I'll have you know I got this all completely on my own." She smirked. "Let's just say the lost golden witch's coven isn't lost anymore."
"What?" He stared at her in surprise. "How in blazes did you find that? It's one of the world's hardest treasures to find, ever!" He shouted, with the blonde smirking proudly. "Only the witches of old knew its location!"
"Guess all the time we ran into each other rubbed off on me." she winked. "Call it a strong gut instinct. It was tricky, but nothing I couldn't handle. But then again, if you were there, it might have even better~" She chuckled, starting to walk past him.
"Wait….if you have time, would you like to talk about it over a glass of wine and some Haggis at the mansion?"
"Why Scroogie, are you asking me on a date?" she turned to him with a bigger smirk while hearing Magica gasp in her head. "You must have REALLY missed me."
'Say yes, say yes, and then let me take over! I got us here so I should get to enjoy this!'
"Well, I wouldn't call it that per say." he cleared his throat with both hands on his cane. "I'm just curious to hear more on just what you encountered. Purely for curiosity reasons."
"Of course, and maybe I can coerce you into buying a few of these long lost treasures~?"
"Let's just see what the night has in store for us. I'll see you about…8?"
"Make it 7." She smiled. "See you there Scroogie~"
He gave a nod and headed out while Magica groaned.
'What was that?!'
"It's called being smooth. You might have scared him away if I let you do the talking. Now we got ourselves a night with him. You're welcome."
'You mean I am going to get a night with him, it's still my turn!' Magica declared as she started to force herself to take control.
"Gah!" Goldie gritted her teeth before her eyes changed with Magica smirking. "And if we're going, I'll be giving our wardrobe a proper adjustment."
'Hey, hey, no new clothes, I just got this gold!'
"Oh don't be a baby. The ones I bought before will suffice." she looked at their reflection in a window and felt up a strand. "And maybe do something with our hair."
'No, we've talked about this, our hair is fine!'
"It's not going to be dyed all black you old bird. Even if it would be an improvement." She huffed.
'Just don't go overboard.'
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing."
(Later)
"Well?"
'I'm not saying a word. Although…it's decent.'
"Wait until Scrooge himself sees." Magica walked up to the gate and pushed the button. "Scrooge? It's u-I mean me."
"Ah, Goldie, glad to hear, come on in." Scrooge's voice responded, the gate swinging open on it's own.
Magica made her way up to the large building, albeit with some difficulty given the steep pathway, but reached the door and gave a knock. The door opened and Scrooge welcomed her in, his mouth open as he was about to say something, only to find himself speechless.
"See something you like?" asked Magica with her hands on her hips. Goldie's body had her hair down behind her, two parts dyed black going on the sides that framed her face. She was wearing a gold dress with a V cut on the front and slits on the sides with black high heeled shoes, and holding a purple feathered boa around her shoulders.
"I….yes, er I….bless me bagpipes…." Scrooge got out. "This is….a new look Goldie."
"I thought it was time for something new and exciting, Scrooge~" She smiled, walking into the mansion. 'Told you he would like it!'
'Yeah yeah, I can see that.' Goldie huffed. 'I still think the boa was too much.'
'Scrooge would disagree~' She thought as Scrooge led her through the house to the dining room. He went ahead and pulled a seat out for her, making her internally sigh before taking his own. 'And he knows his manners. I like~'
'He's quite nice when you aren't throwing magic at him, isn't he?'
"So, Goldie." Scrooge spoke up with his hands folded together. "Please, tell me. How did your little adventure start off? Some sort of hidden map? An old rumor?"
"Believe it or not, it started off with an old book that I came across that belonged to a powerful witch, I think her name was Magic something or other?"
Scrooge's eyes widened before frowning. "Magica DeSpell?"
"Yes, that's it." She replied, internally gulping. "Anyways. It told of an ancient and hardly talked about path that went across several countries to help keep any intruders out. Anyone foolish enough to try and look for the treasure were met with a grizzly and rightful demise." she remarked while trying not to sound nervous.
"I see, but how did you find Magica? I was under the impression she was… gone for a few years now."
"I said the book belonged to her, I didn't see her herself." she clarified. "I mean, that would be silly. A powerful sorceress like that hasn't been heard of in a long time. So running into her would be completely out of the ordinary."
"Aye….did you find her hideout, a stash of magical artifacts? If memory serves me right she had a few she stole from me over the years I never got back before….never mind."
Magica opened her mouth before her eyes briefly glazed over as Goldie took over and smiled. "Nothing that really stuck out like that. I did find quite the stash of riches though. Those witches sure did like to save up."
"I'm sure they did, tell me, was the coven still active?"
"I wouldn't call a circle of skeletons active." Goldie chuckled. "I'd say they're long past their prime, not unlike the two of us."
"Agreed." Scrooge chuckled. "Still, I wish I could have been there when you found the place."
'Hey, give me back control, I was doing well!'
'Don't hog him all for yourself.' Goldie thought before taking a sip of the wine. "Tell me Scrooge, when was the last time we spent any time together that didn't involve some priceless artifact?"
"Hmmm, does that time we were mining for gold count?"
"As much as I'd like to say yes, it doesn't count." Goldie sighed. "I mean just time where it was just the two of us, no treasure, no adventure, just us, you and me."
'You don't even have that now, I'm here!'
Scrooge held his chin as he looked up in thought. "Hmmm, what about-no. Or how about-no, not that one. Oh! I've got it. There was the…uh…blasted, I can't think of one."
"Then I'd wager this is a priceless event, a moment where the two of us can relax and spend time together, a first." She smiled while putting her hand on his own, making him stare in surprise before raising an eyebrow.
"Wait a second. How do I know for sure you're not trying to get the drop on me?"
"Whatever for? I just got one of my biggest pay days, and last I checked you didn't keep any priceless valuables in your dining room, do you?" she teased before glancing away. "Besides, I've had time to look back on things and think about stuff between the two of us."
"Really now? And what have you found?" He asked as he leaned forward a bit.
Goldie opened her mouth, only to get yanking back from control as Magica took over and smiled. "I'd like us to get closer. Much closer~"
'Come on! You couldn't have waited one more minute?!'
"Oh!" Scrooge's cheeks turned a little pink as she leaned in closer.
"After all, we both have history together, we know each other so well, and we both know we have a burning passion for the other~"
"Well, I can't say I don't have similar feelings Goldie." Scrooge admitted, both exciting the witch, yet at the same time making her feel slightly bitter. "But…I thought you always said you weren't the type of lass to stay in one place for too long?"
"I am, but who said I had to leave town alone every time?" she countered, confusing him. "Who's to say you can't join me? Going out on adventures with just the…two of us?"
"Goldie I…" Scrooge started, unsure what to say. "I….I need time to think."
"Well-" Magica started, only to freeze as Goldie took over. "There's no need to rush Scroogie, I just got my payday and I'm in no rush to leave town yet."
He smiled before Goldie was pulled back and Magica took over again, who smiled.
"But just in case something comes up, what say I stick around here for a bit? You know, in a guest room if you will."
"Ah, yes, of course Goldie, feel free to stay here." he nodded. "Of course I will let the boys know too. Just in case they ask what's going on."
"Boys?" She asked in surprise.
"My nephews. Donald came by some time ago and brought the boys with him. So for the time being, they're staying with me." He smiled. "Ah, and Webby also, so if you hear something in the vents don't worry, it's just her. Honestly we got lucky, I told Miss Beakly to distract the boys this evening."
"Well that's…good to know." She said carefully. 'Thank god, for a second I thought I was too late and someone else got close to him.'
'With us here? Not a chance, now move over!' Goldie snapped as she tried to take control.
'NO! It's my date, my turn, now buzz off!'
'I said quit hogging him!'
'Like you're one to talk! You hogged this body for five months!'
Scrooge took a bite out of his haggis while noticing Goldie holding her head and gritting her teeth. "Uh, Goldie? Are you alright?"
"Y-Yeah, I've just been having a small headache for a bit." She groaned, shaking her head. "I'm fine."
"Care for more wine? It might ease it up a smidge." Scrooge offered as she nodded.
'I command you to give me control right now or I'll turn you into a…a….something!' Magica threatened.
'Not on your life!' Goldie thought as she knocked back the glass. 'How about you do us both a favor and shut up or get drunk!'
"Goldie?"
"Hmmm? What is it Scroogie?"
"Are you SURE it's just a headache?" He asked with a raised eyebrow. "Are you sure it isn't something like…. A curse? You did just raid a witch's coven."
"Curse? On me? Hahaha. That's silly." she tried laughing it off. "I feel just the same as always."
"Are you sure? You seem a bit off tonight…"
'Shoot! He's onto us!'
'Only because you've been trying to wrestle control from me!'
Scrooge narrowed his eyes before Goldie sat up straight and cleared her throat.
"I think I'm just feeling exhausted. After all, trekking across the country can do that to a gal, and after finding the treasure I've been on my feet for a week straight." She said as she stood up. "Maybe we could do this again tomorrow? I think it might be best if I get some rest."
"He raised an eyebrow before standing up and wiped his beak. "Fair enough, I'll show you where you can rest while here."
"Thank you." She smiled. 'Nice one idiot, now our date got cut short!'
"No problem." He said, narrowing his eyes, and when her back was turned he reached into one of his pockets. "Now where did I put that key.." He said, 'accidentally' causing a gold coin to come out and drop onto the floor and roll in front of Goldie.
Goldie looked down and spotted it, making her grin and reach down. But when she picked it up, she looked at Scrooge and quietly slipped it back into the pocket. "Here, you dropped this Scroogie."
'Did she just… give me the gold back?' he thought, caught off guard and REALLY feeling something was up.
"Hope the room's next door to you." She smiled as he nodded.
"Aye, it's in the ring wing of the house as my own."
After taking some time to show her which way to go and showing her the room, she stepped inside and let out a heavy sigh of relief. 'Thank god, he didn't figure it out, that was too close.'
'It's your fault Magica, we nearly got caught!'
"Oh quit whining." she huffed. "You're the one cutting into MY date, so really, it's on you."
'My body, my date! I knew him longer, I did all the work to get the date, I should enjoy it!'
"Well I gave you a makeover that had him speechless!"
'That you did with my money!'
"Oh quit griping about the bloody money! It's not everything in life!"
'Says the woman who only wants to get to Scrooge to get to a stupid dime!'
"Well unless you want to keep sharing your body with me, it's the only other way I can see me getting my body back."
'Eh, if it means Scrooge is safe then I can happily live with you in my head.'
"...come again?"
'You heard me, strangely enough, I'm kind of used to our weird… situation.'
"So…you'd be fine if I stayed in here?" Magica asked slowly. "Even though we have to share the body and you may not always be in control?"
'It's not the worst thing in the world, plus despite how crazy you are you can be reasonable.'
Magica looked down in silence, letting that sink in and closed her eyes. "That's very…kind of you to say."
'No problem, plus I'm pretty sure you can figure out a way to get magic one way or another, so worse case scenario I suppose you being in here won't be so bad, right?'
"Of course. As the greatest sorceress in the world, it's a simple task." She smirked, snapping her fingers, and chuckling as a few sparks appeared in the air above them. "By the way, I did some practicing and made a few…modifications while I was in your head for five months."
'And what 'modifications' are we talking about?'
"Don't worry, nothing too serious, just opened up the pathways in your body that allow you to channel magic, nothing too magnificent yet though, your body needs time to adjust before I can really cut loose."
'Good, I don't want my hair catching on fire because you went zap happy.'
"Relax, I know what I'm doing….say, how about we relax and get some sleep, huh?"
'Sounds good to me.' Goldie agreed. 'Tomorrow let's see if we can get Scrooge to give us some money for those artifacts~'
"Yes yes, later." Magica said, and unknown to Goldie she was smirking.
(Later)
Magica smiled as she stood over Goldie in their mind, staring at the sleeping blonde. 'Good, I'm glad she's finally out….now to do what must be done.' she spread her scepter and put the duck in a soundproof bubble before taking over the body, making her way out the room and towards Scrooge's. 'Now Scrooge, this has been a long time coming, and I will not be denied!'
With said duck, he was snoring in his bed, completely out of it and not stirring as his door slowly opened with Magica entering, her form obscured by the shadows. He didn't stir as she got closer, the blonde staring at his sleeping form.
'Hmm, he actually looks rather peaceful right now.' She thought, staring at him. 'It almost feels like a crime to wake him up now….no, I've waited too long for this!' she shook her head and moved closer, leaning over him and spotting the dime around his neck, exposed, making her grin with her hands twitching.
'What do you think you're doing?!'
She jumped with wide eyes. 'What are you doing?! You should be sleeping!'
'C'mon, you know me by now! Do you really think I was going to sleep when we were in Scrooge's mansion?!'
'I was kinda hoping that WOULD be the case.' She thought with a frown. 'Look, could you just stay silent for another hour or so?'
'We were over this! Taking his dime is just asking for him to hate us! He values that more than his entire fortune!'
'My body is so close! It's been years! Just let me have this and it'll be done and over with!'
'If it was just that then maybe, but I can't let you store Scroogie in there afterwards!'
'Oh please, I have a much better idea in mind for that since you're so stingy about that.' She groaned as she struggled to move her hand forward. 'Just hear me out!'
'I'm not falling for it!' yelled Goldie before slapping Magica across the face, taking back control and moving to back up. 'If I leave now Scroogie will never have to know about this!'
'I will not be denied!' Magica screeched in her mind and fought to take control. 'Just let me do this, let me have a chance!'
'No way! You'll just screw us both over!'
'No, I won't, just let me seduce him!' Magica shouted.
"WHAT?!" Goldie let out, wide eyed, after getting control, before looking down at her body and gaped. She was nearly naked, only wearing a pair of lacy black underwear with a matching bra. 'You….what….I…'
"Just let me have this chance, I know I can seduce him, so let me do it!'
'Seduce him?! You sneak in here to grab his dime, wearing this gaudy thing?! The only one who should seduce him is me!' She thought in frustration.
'Would you believe me if I said I was only going to get the dime afterwards?'
Goldie looked unamused before tackling Magica in the mind, leading to the two of them swapping quickly between control of the body. This caused them to make numerous grunts and sounds, stirring the old duck awake.
"Scrooge….is….MINE!"
'Go blow it out your bagpipe! You always brag about having had fun with him, well now it's my turn!'
"You're too young and inexperienced! You wouldn't know what to do!"
'My personal fantasies are more than enough to give me tips!' She shouted. 'I'm only a few years younger than you anyway!'
"Well I-"
"Ugh…what's…going on here?" Scrooge interjected, making the two of them freeze. He sat up and blinked, looking over. "Goldie? What are ya doin' in my room…?"
"I-" Goldie started, only for Magica to force her way into control.
"I have…come to get what's mine Scrooge~"
"Aye, but I'd wager you can do that without acting so weird, what's going on Goldie?" He questioned, rubbing an eye while not seeing what she wore given the darkness and his dim eyesight at the moment. "You've been acting weird ever since I met you too, you've even returned gold, the Goldie I know would never do that."
"O-Of course sh-I mean I would!" Magica countered with a gulp. "I…just have too much right now. No sense in taking any of yours."
"Now I know something's wrong, Goldie would take every cent I owned if she could get away with it." Scrooge said, narrowing his eyes.
Magica gulped before Goldie took back over control and held her hands up. "Now Scroogie, remember what I said? About having time to think things over?"
"Goldie…" Scrooge said warningly. "Tell me what's going on."
"Well…you sure? I mean, you are pretty up there, and we don't need your blood pressure shooting up there."
"We? Goldie, what is going on?" Scrooge asked with a frown as the blonde sighed.
'Magica, I say we tell him.'
'I say we go with my plan. Throw yourself on him and show him this underwear was made for this.'
'Magica, trust me, this is the right thing to do.' she inhaled and looked Scrooge dead in the eye. "Magica is still alive and she's in my body."
"...what?" Scrooge said, confused. "What are you talking about?"
"Magica, the sorceress, is inside my body."
Scrooge stared at her in silence before shaking his head. "Blondie, I don't know where you come up with the-"
"You met my brother, named Poe, who became a crow when you trespassed on our castle." Magica cut him off by taking control of the body. "You imprisoned my body in your dime, leaving me as a bodiless shadow who had to take over this duck's body."
"...WHAT?!" Scrooge cried out, fumbling backwards and managing to fall off his bed. "MAGICA DE SPELL?!"
'Well, that went well.'
"Now look, I get you're shocked-"
"HOW?! How is thi- that backstabbing charlatan, he sold me a bad scroll!" Scrooge scowled. "It was supposed to beat you for good! Not pull some half hazard spell like that!"
"Well here we are Scrooge, I'm alive and well… for the most part inside Goldi-"
"Get out of her! GOLDIE! CAN YOU HEAR ME IN THERE?!" he yelled before tackling her to the floor. "SNAP OUT OF IT! RESIST HER!"
"SCROOGE! We're not deaf!" Goldie frowned. "She's not controlling me you old coot! We're SHARING my body."
"What? But Magica is a sorceress, she's evil, she-"
"Can still hear you, Scrooge." Magica deadpanned at him while crossing her arms. "I'm well aware our past isn't the greatest, but spending time in Goldie's body and dealing with her insatiable obsession has helped me see things in a more reasonable light."
"What do you mean?" Scrooge asked, looking at her skeptically.
"Let's just say I'm not feeling the urge to turn you into a cow ready to be slaughtered for fresh meat." She huffed. "Goldie has also…. Been persuasive in me acknowledging something else…"
"And that would be….?" Scrooge asked skeptically.
"It'll be easier to show you." She said as she grabbed the back of his head and pulled him closer, pulling him into a kiss.
His eyes nearly shot out of his head, his mind coming to a screeching halt.
'I'd say he's liking it, now give me a turn~'
'Not done yet.' Magica thought, mentally slapping Goldie away. Once she ended the kiss she looked at Scrooge smugly. "Well, what do you think?"
"Ah…ah…ah…."
"You should feel honored, it is rare that someone wins the favor of a sorceress like me~" she gloated before feeling Goldie push her aside and smirk. "Why Scroogie, I'm offended. Don't tell me you'd prefer a kiss from a sorceress over me."
"I…what….how….what is happening?" he managed to let out, right before feeling Goldie's beak against his own again. He tried to struggle, only to find his will to resist quickly disappearing. He closed his eyes and kissed back, relaxing and finding this moment actually nice.
(Later)
"So… how exactly is this going to work?"
"What do you mean Scroogie?" Goldie asked, lying next to Scrooge in his bed.
"How does this…with the two of you in one head work?"
"Easy. We take turns and swap out control so we each get a chance with you. We've done it for months and have it down like the back of our hand." She said smugly.
'You still owe me for those five months.'
"We've got it down perfectly." Goldie added.
"Ah… gotcha. Glad to know you don't want to try and get her body out of me dime."
"Well it took some work to get her to see reason." Goldie sighed. "Honestly? I've kind of gotten used to her being in my head."
"She hasn't tried to tempt you into the more darker side of magic, has she?"
"There's a dark side to magic? I just assumed it was all magic."
"I'll take that as a sign she's started already."
'I take offense to that.'
"Nothing big, just a smidge. Don't get your feathers ruffled." Goldie chuckled. "I doubt I'll be turning anyone into gold anytime soon."
'Like the world needs more of that.' Magica thought as she rolled her eyes. 'Also you owe me for taking over halfway through!'
'Oh fine.' "She wants her turn back or else she'll get crabby."
"Ah, gotcha, see you later Goldie?" He responded back awkwardly before seeing her eyes turn to slits. "Uh, Magica?"
"In the flesh."
'Everytime with that lame joke.' Goldie groaned.
"So tell me Scroogie, you know I'm still alive, and yet you have my body in that little dime of yours." she remarked, rubbing his chest while he raised an eyebrow. "So tell me, why bother holding my body hostage when you'd be doing me a favor by simply returning it?"
"After last time? I've got a hard time believing you'd just up and not use it for revenge."
"Hmm, well you wouldn't be wrong to think like that. Although if there was some way to change your mind, I'm sure we could fix that~" she purred with a wink.
"Hmmm, well when you put it like that…." Scrooge chuckled, pulling her closer. 'Good thing the boys and Webby won't be here for a bit longer.'
"I'm sure we could come to an agreement before the nights over with."
"Now you're talking my language, just be warned, I am a VERY shrewd negotiator."
"And I can be quite the devious duck when I want to be." She smirked. 'I'll have him eating out of the palm of my hands~'
'You better not agree to give him anything I own when he outsmarts you.'
'Oh please, just look at him. He's practically starved for a woman's body. I'll get my body back in no time.'
'This is Scrooge McDuck, he's smarter than the smarties, and may I remind you that he outsmarted you before?'
'Oh please, where's your faith in my abilities? If anything you should be happy. The sooner I get my body back, the less of a voice you have in your head. Of course don't be surprised if he's taken with my own body more than yours.'
'And don't be surprised when I'm right and you're proven wrong.' Goldie sighed. 'This will not end well.'
(Later)
"Ah…ah…ah….ah…." Magica panted, looking disheveled and exhausted while Scrooge had his hands behind his head and seemed just fine with a smile.
"So, what do you say, do you agree to the terms?"
"I…..ha….yes…."
"Glad to hear we could come to an agreement. So, ready to go again?"
"I….give me….few seconds…" 'How is he ready to go again so soon?!'
'He's a spry old duck, want to tap out?'
'I….will take five…' Magica groaned, releasing control.
Goldie sighed and turned to Scrooge with a seductive look. "Ready for a real woman now Scroogie?"
"You know it Goldie~" he smirked back before she moved up and pulled the sheet over them.
