"So this is Zonedale?" Raymond sighed as he marveled at the size of the small village before him, a fountain in the town square, a ferris wheel near the river, and a fire hydrant by town hall. "Definitely different from what I was expecting, that's for sure." he smiled.
"Welcome!" Isabelle smiled as she and numerous other villagers all approached him. "Welcome to Zonedale, I'm Isabelle, the official town representative and assistant mayor!"
"My name is Raymond." he introduced. "Where is the mayor? I want to make sure the paperwork is in order before I move into my new house."
"Just follow me and I'll introduce you." smiled the dog before walking past the crowd who all gave him smiles with the cat following her. "I have a feeling you'll fit right in here. We're always happy to meet new faces." she said as she led him to the town hall where inside he saw a guy asleep at his desk with paper covering his face.

"Sorry, long night." Isabelle crouched down and shook him. "Mayor, mayor wake up, the new villager is here to meet you."

"My name is Raymond." nodded the cat. "I wanted to meet you and run the paperwork by you to make sure everything was in order. I really don't like leaving unfinished business lying around."
"Oh yeah of course! We received the furniture orders you requested and they've all arrived on time." the mayor smiled. "Your house is set on the far east side of town with everything already set up inside. If you need help with anything you just talk to me."
"Still, I'd like to look over any forms to be absolutely sure."
"Yes of course, Isabelle if you would?" he asked her.
"On it." she darted off and not a few seconds later came back with the forms. "Here they are."
"Thank you Isabelle."' he spoke as he and Raymond looked over the papers.
"Hmmm." the cat leaned down to look closer, unaware of the Villager looking down behind him. "Alright, everything looks to be in order." Raymond smiled as The mayor gave a nod.
"Indeed and Isabelle here will show you to your new home."
With that the dog led the cat out of the office as the mayor moved and sat down behind his desk, smiling and letting out a chuckle to himself.

"That's fine as long as you remember to greet your neighbors!"
"I can do that no problem." he spoke as Isabelle left his house making him sigh out. "Hopefully my neighbors aren't the kind to give me a headache."
Raymond went over to a nearby closet and pulled out a blue and pink dress and gave a smile. Raymond gave a thoughtful look before going back to the closet and decided to wear something else, but before he could he heard the doorbell ring. "Darn it!" he muttered, quickly changing back into his normal clothes and ran over before opening the door. "Yes?" He said as he poked his head out and saw it was the mayor.
"Hello Raymond/ I came to check up on you." he smiled.
"Well everything looks to be in order, so I'm happy for that." Raymond said, hoping he'd go away.
"Mind if I come inside?"
"Uh…can't, there's still some things I need to move around." he said uneasily as the mayor chuckled.
"Don't worry, I don't mind helping you." he said.
Raymond glanced inside and back at the mayor before slowly stepping aside. "Very well." he said as he had hoped the mayor would leave him be.
The Villager came in and looked around with a smile. "So tell me Raymond, what do you like to do?"
"Oh? I enjoy reading and cooking…that's all. I enjoy doing taxes as well." he spoke a little too quickly.

"Which is good enough for me." nodded the mayor as he patted Raymond on the back, briefly glancing over at the closet with a sleeve sticking out before heading out.
Raymond closed and locked the door, sighing in relief. "He might be right. I don't want to be seen as some uptight killjoy. I guess relaxing for a bit wouldn't hurt, but I'll worry about that in a few days." he sighed as he decided to go to bed for the night.
*The next day*
Raymond left his house and headed out to get a better look and feel of the town, and maybe meet some of his new neighbors. "Hmmm, wonder where I should go first?" he wondered.
