YOU WILL ALL BE GETTING PROPER THANK-YOU EMAILS FROM ME SOON!
I just wanted to get the chapter out quickly!
First things first, which you may think has nothing to do with anything but it actually does and I'll explain: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO TAYDO-THE-POTATO! This is my homie y'all who is also an AWESOME Boondocks writer. If you don't already know her, get to know the girl. She's legit.
But why is this relevant you may ask? Because we're Facebook homies as well and I saw that today is her birthday. I already was thiiiisss close to finishing this chapter, but when I saw it was her birthday, I kicked it into overdrive to get this out in birthday dedication to her. Lmao, it might not even be her real birthday. Facebook be lyin' sometimes but oh well. She's the main reason it's out today so y'all better thank her! ;) Happy birthday though, boo!
Secondly and on a more serious note: I'm soooooo so sorry for the wait, guys. Things in my life just got crazy. The last time I updated this was what, February? Soo then school picked up, with more exams, then the finals and ish. Then in April my mother got sick. Literally all summer was just hectic and crazy with taking care of her and not having and real time for anything. And those who have read my Babysitting With Uncle Reezy sequel know that. She's still going through that so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Aside from that school has been ridiculous. So that's why there's been such a delay with not just this story but BWUR too. I'm really trying though guys, so please just bear with me. I have not given up on either of my stories. I WILL NOT give up on either of my stories. Still dedicated to both of them and to you. Know and believe that. Promise :)
Don't wanna delay it any longer. We're going in with the 11th chapter (please forgive any typos. I was hurrying this along… but at least I made it nice and long for you ;)).
Disclaimer: I do not own any part of Aaron McGruder's The Boondocks or any of his characters... and Season 4 starts in January, hollaaaa! :D
"Man, y'all got more shit than a nigga need in here. Damn. I bet these vases cost y'all an arm and a leg, huh? Yeah. I see y'all. Y'all like me, though. I like having things, too. I gots to have it, you dig? I'm a do-what-it-takes kind of nigga, man. I get it how I live and live how I get it. You feel me? That's what real niggas do."
"Granddad, I can't believe you let them niggas stay here!"
"That's messed up Riley, that's family."
"Family? I ain't never seen them niggas before in my life! Far as I'm concerned, them niggas is the homeless!"
"They were left to drown!"
"Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, that's real messed up… for them. Why don't they take they homeless asses home?"
"They have nothing to go home to."
"Aye! We let them niggas stay here, we won't have nothin' to go home to! Everybody know New Orleans niggas are grimy!"
"Yep. Thanks, Riley."
"That's my hat!"
"Both of you shut up!"

Cindy's POV
She stirred as she felt the pressure of weight coming from the other side of the bed, nearing closer to her. Then she moaned as the weight was suddenly on her gently.
"Aye C, wake up for a minute. I'm boutta head out."
Cindy slowly rolled on her back and opened her eyes to look up at Riley hovering over her. He was now fully dressed as he leaned semi-straddled over her while she was fully nude underneath her bed sheets.
"Mm… already?" Cindy mumbled as she stretched, glancing at her clock as she did so. "It's one in the morning, Reez."
"I know, but I got work early tomorrow… today." He shrugged with a grin. "I left some stuff at my crib that I gotta go back and bring to work. I'm just gonna crash a few hours there then head back out at seven or so."
"That's cool." Cindy yawned, covering her mouth with one hand. "Get home safe, aiight?"
"Always."
"Okay. Have a good night."
"I know you did." Riley smirked.
"Hush up." Cindy blushed. "Getcha ass home, boy."
"Whateva, girl." He snickered. "Later."
"Goodnight." Cindy smiled. Riley grinned at her before lowering himself down to kiss her lips. Cindy moaned slightly, wrapping an arm around his neck. After a few short moments, Riley finally pulled back.
"Good morning, bay." He said lowly, patting her hip before raising up off her. Cindy chuckled, running a hand through her hair as she watched him get off the bed.
"Byyee, cuddy-buddy."
Riley laughed, casting a sexy glance back at her when he was at the door. "Later, boo thang."
Cindy giggled, rolling on her side. "Bye, boy." He winked at her before walking out into the hallway.
"I'm locking your door for you," She heard him call to her.
"Thank you!" She replied back with a smile. He was so considerate. She snuggled deeper under the covers, listening to the sound of the door opening, closing, then eventually locking from the living room before her thoughts started to wander.
Damn… why ain't we do this sooner?
It had been over two weeks since they'd first had sex and come to their arrangement… and it had been awesome so far. Was Cindy that surprised about it? Yes and no. On one hand, he was her homie! Just her homie. And as everyone knows, it's always been taught that you give it away to someone you really want/like, preferably love. Nowadays, hoes would be willing to offer it up to niggas that would look at them twice. And obviously Cindy was nowhere near that bad. She had never been easy. And she did have love for Riley. He was her boy. That was enough, right?
On the other hand, hell no she wasn't surprised their situation was damn near close to perfect! The reasons: Riley and Cindy were best friends, practically one and the same. They were simple people. Laid-back. Go with the flow. Gangstas. Not too many things really came off like a big deal to them. Why should this? They were a good match. Realistically speaking and physically.
Cindy shivered under the covers, her mind continuing daydream. God. The sex… was out of this world. She'd never felt as good as she did with any other men prior. Riley just… had a way with her. Maybe it was because they knew each other so well. As far as friendship goes, she trusted him more than anyone else. And she found that she trusted him the same way with her body. Cindy had never been the submissive type about anything really, let alone in the bed. But with Riley, she felt safe to let him have complete control if he wanted to, and he usually did. It was sexy. And he was sexy. She had to own up. That was probably the biggest reason to why the sex was so good. Riley just knew what he was doing. A true playa.
Speaking of, she suspected he was keeping his word about not getting too attached emotionally, which was smart. In a risky game like the one they were playing, feelings tended to get caught quick. It was imperative for them to keep it as casual as possible at all costs. Riley no doubt was. When he came to see her tonight, his collar smelled like some cheap perfume. Cindy knew it wasn't hers. All her scents were the expensive originals. The good stuff… not that she cared about the knock-off perfume or the chick that had been wearing it. He probably had stopped at the club or bar earlier that night and been trying to bag. That was fine with Cindy. He could do him and she could do her while they were apart, and Cindy would eventually. The opportunity just hadn't come yet. It had been two long-ass weeks for her, which in a way was a good thing. As bad as it sounded, that meant no Huey, no Jazmine, and no Caesar.
She loved her crew to death, don't get her wrong. But sometimes, her friends were just too damn nosey, one in particular. Cindy got the feeling they were getting suspicious of something. Riley pushed away the thought every time she mentioned it to him. They knew about the kiss, but that was all as far as Riley was concerned. Cindy wasn't convinced. They were just acting like they knew something. And if they didn't know, they at least had an idea.
Four Days Ago
"Aah… right there… don't stop, Reezy… aahh," Cindy moaned, clutching the rails of the bedframe tightly. Riley was kneeling directly behind her while he pleasured her, going harder and faster with each thrust.
"Shit." He hissed, using one hand to clutch onto the side of hip. His nails dug in slightly, but the pain felt good to Cindy.
"More… more…." She trailed off as her voice got higher and higher in octave.
Riley responded by burying his face into her neck, beginning to bite and suck. The hand on her hip started to slide up and his other arm came around as well, drawing her back tight against his chest while he seized both of her breasts, hard.
"Aaah!" Cindy cried out, at her limit as Riley pushed all of her sensations over the edge. It wasn't long before she came, soon followed by Riley a few moments later. So far, in all the times that she'd been with him, he'd always let her finish first. That was new to her; unfortunately, the majority of men she'd had prior had mainly been selfish.
Cindy continued to breathe as she leaned back into Riley for support. His breathing was staggered with pants as he eventually placed his hands on her waist, guiding her to lean forward. She then felt him sweep her wild hair out of the way before applying a light kiss to the back of her neck, causing her to sigh contentedly. Riley then began to ease them both down onto the bed. He handled her tired body carefully, laying her down and tossing the sheets on top of her as she rested her eyes closed. She heard him rustling on the other side of the bed for a few moments, probably disposing the used contraception. Then she felt the bed shift again as he laid down, pulling the covers over himself as well. Cindy sleepily opened her eyes as he gently rolled her so that she was now facing him on her side. She ignored the blush that was probably spreading over her face as she grinned at Riley and the way he smirked at her.
"Damn." She whispered.
Riley made a tiny noise of amusement. "That was good." He replied huskily.
"It was…. You're good." She smirked as Riley chuckled.
"You're good."
"You're better." Cindy countered easily.
"C'mere." Riley answered deeply without missing a beat. Cindy giggled as his arm found its way around her body, pulling her close up against him. She moaned when their lips finally connected, his tongue sliding into her mouth while he caressed her. She liked when their intimacy was face to face.
Just as they both started to get REALLY into it, they heard Riley's ringtone go off. Riley groaned in frustration as they pulled back from each other.
"Get it." Cindy allowed, unwinding her leg from overtop the side of his hip. Riley turned his body to reach his arm to the nightstand. Glancing at the caller ID as he came back, a scowl came over his face.
"It's Caesar." He said with distaste.
"So answer it."
"Hell no, I ain't in the mood to talk to that nigga!"
"Reez. It's Caesar though. The one who will blow up someone's phone in a MINUTE if they don't answer them the first five times. You ignore him and he gonna keep callin'." Cindy told him seriously. Riley growled before pressing speaker.
"Aye." Riley answered, gesturing to Cindy to stay quiet. She nodded along.
"What up, my dude? What's the word?"
"The word is what the fuck do you want? I'm busy." Riley snapped.
"Well 'scuuuse me." Caesar chuckled, unaffected like usual. "Me and Huey were around and wanted to stop by, maybe have a few drinks if you got 'em. You home?"
"Naw, I ain't."
"Where you at?"
"Damn man, I'm… I'm with a bitch right now, aiight?" Riley finally said lowly, casting a smirking glance at Cindy as she rolled her eyes.
"Ohhhh, you THAT kinda busy?" Caesar asked with interest.
"Yeah nigga. In bed with her right now, so if you don't mind-"
"She's right beside you and she allows you to address her as bitch?" Huey's voice suddenly spoke, apparently on speaker with Caesar.
"She know I mean it in a respectful way. She a bad bitch. Ain't that right, bay?" Riley lied his ass off smoothly, casting another playful look at Cindy.
"Geett iiitt." Caesar called out suggestively. Cindy had to cover her mouth so she wouldn't utter any laughter.
"Because there's definitely a 'respectful' way to call someone a bitch." Huey deadpanned.
"I ain't got time for you, niggas. Round two's about to be on and poppin' so deucesss!" And with that, Riley pressed the end button and tossed his phone back on the nightstand.
"That was awesome, Reezy." Cindy giggled.
"I know." He boasted with a grin.
"But see what happens if you refer to me as a bitch again." She warned with a smirk.
"Girl please. You call me bitch all the time. I call you bitch too. It's a two-way street."
"Don't do it no more." Riley cracked a smirk as he looked down at her.
"Not even if I put 'bad' in front of it? As in bad bitch? As in the baddest bitch?" He said enticingly, moving in on her.
"Flattery will get you nowhere." She muttered, gazing up at his lips.
"Yeah, I bet." He responded before kissing her. But no sooner than Cindy had returned it did her phone start ringing.
"Are you serious right now?" Riley complained, pulling back instantly.
"What the hell?" Cindy grumbled, turning to her nightstand. She let out a breath of disbelief. "Guess who?"
"What the fuck, man?" Riley practically growled.
"SHH. I'm answering." She hushed him before pressing speaker. "Hello?"
"Whaddup, boo?" Caesar spoke, causing Riley to roll his eyes.
"Hey, Ceez." Cindy grinned.
"Whatchu doin'?"
"Watching Love & Hip-Hop Atlanta." She replied coolly.
"Which episode?"
"The newest one."
"Girl, the new one premiered last night."
"I DVR'd it! Watchin' it for the first time now. Damn, detective." Cindy covered herself. "What are YOU doin'?"
"Me and Huey are hangin' together and we were thinkin' about comin' up to visit."
"We were?" Huey said dryly.
"Shuddup! I made an executive decision. Besides, I'm the one drivin'." Caesar retorted. "So how bout it, Cin?"
"Caesar…." Cindy groaned, stalling for time while looking to Riley for help. He gestured wildly at her to make something up. "One, no you weren't planning on visiting. Huey just dimed you out. Two, it's getting late. Why would you wanna drive all the way up here to go all the way back?"
"Point."
"Nigga, shut the hell up!" Caesar snipped. Then cried out in pain as Cindy and Riley both heard a loud smack over the speakerphone. Riley practically snorted, but shut up immediately as Cindy gave him a panicked look. Thank God Caesar hadn't heard him.
"Ow," Caesar mumbled, back on the phone. "Anyways Cindy, maybe HUEY wasn't in the mood, but I just wanted to get a group and chill for a bit. Jazmine's out of town visiting her grandparents today, and Riley's conveniently unavailable."
Cindy and Riley both raised a brow. The way he said that was strange. "Whatchu mean?" She asked.
"Nothin'. He just ain't home either." He brushed off. "So can we? I mean, it ain't even that late. It's only nine o'clock. And it's a Saturday anyway."
"It's just that I can't tonight, guys." Cindy hedged.
Caesar was surprisingly quiet for a moment. "…Why though?"
"Because…" Cindy began, thinking of a lie quick. "Alright, the thing of it is, I'm not gonna be at my apartment in a little bit."
"Where you goin' this LATE, Cin?" Caesar asked pointedly, which Cindy half expected.
"I wasn't gonna say anything to yo nosey ass because I know you'll run and tell Jazz, but I guess I will anyway." Cindy pretended to huff. "There's a guy a few stories down in my apartment building, I see him in passing every once in a while. He invited me to his place tonight for drinks." She explained simply. Riley was giving her an interesting look at her story.
"Really now?" Caesar said.
"Yup."
"What's this nigga's name?"
"Jamal." She grinned, using the most stereotypical black name.
"Of course."
"Shut up, Huey!" Cindy giggled.
"And y'all are having drinks?" Caesar cut in again.
"Mmm-hm!"
"After nine o'clock at night?"
"What's your point, Ceez?"
"I'm just sayin'. You don't really know this guy and you goin' to his crib around booty-call time?"
"FIRST of all, booty-call hours usually start around 11:30, get it right. And second, I'm a-"
"Big girl, yeah-yeah-yeah, I know. We all know." Caesar cut her off. "You just need to play it smart, girl."
"I will, I promise. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go get ready. Fix my hair, do my make-up, slip that Mace and my 6-inch blade in my purse. You know, the usual."
Caesar finally laughed, making Cindy relax slightly. "That's my girl. Hit me up when you get back up to YOUR place and let me know how it goes."
"Sounds good."
"Don'tchu spend the night wit dat nigga!"
"I won't! Promise." Cindy grinned, rolling her eyes.
"Aiight. I'll talk to you later."
"Cool. Bye, Ceez. BYE, Huey!" Cindy called cheerfully.
"…Nigga, she waitin' on you to say bye… aye, don't hang up my-!"
Click.
"Phew!" Cindy exhaled, laying her phone back on her stand. "Damn, that conversation was more than necessary." She told Riley.
"That was some lie you told." He said in return.
"Better than yours." Cindy smirked.
"Yeah whateva. So is this Jamal nigga real or did you come up with that outcha ass?"
Cindy giggled and shook her head. "Nah, I don't think there's a Jamal in my building."
"I figured." Riley shrugged.
"But there IS this white guy named Nick that keeps wantin' me to come have drinks with him."
"Say what?"
"Yeaahh, that part wasn't a lie. He's such a douche."
"You never took him up on no offers, right?" Riley raised an eyebrow.
Cindy matched his expression and smirked. "Damn, Reezy. You soundin' kinda like Caesar."
"Uh, no. That nigga sounded jealous and possessive almost." Cindy's smirk only widened, causing Riley to glare. "I ain't bein' jealous OR possessive, girl. Let's get that straight. It's called bein' protective over you as yo best friend."
"Awwww, how sweet. Big Reezy's gonna protect me?" She cooed with sweet sarcasm. Riley stared at her sardonically. "Well thank you ever so much, bestie-boo!"
"…You need to quit with dat smart-ass mouth."
"What? I'm only flattered by your possessiveness. Oops, I'm sorry. I meant, protectiveness." She said innocently.
"…You need me to convince you?"
"It would only make sense. I mean, the two are SO close in comparison."
"Fuck you." Riley snickered before closing the gap between them, pressing his lips to hers as he rolled over on top of her.
Cindy smiled, thinking back to last weekend. They had gone three rounds that night. And it had been amazing. She kept having to remind Riley to slide on a condom in between rounds though, he was always so eager to rush. She didn't care if she was on birth control, she wasn't down to be catching no diseases from no other hoes. She was almost positive Riley was clean, but you never know.
Her thoughts trailed over to Caesar. His "jealous" ass. She doubted it. He was only protective, just like Riley. They both needed to chill though. Especially Ceez. Cindy just had a feeling that he was onto them. The way he had called Riley and then almost immediately after had called Cindy? Yeah, they had both given valid excuses, but Caesar was no fool. He could smell a lie from a mile away. You had to be on your A-game with him.
As long as she and Riley could keep putting up a strong front, they were solid. Because they were going to ride it out for as long as they could.
…No pun intended.
Caesar's POV
"Aiight, it's official. Y'all need your own spot for real."
"Tell me about it." Huey and Jazmine said simultaneously. The three of them were currently at the Dubois house, in Jazmine's room to be specific... still just as pink as she left it before she headed off to college.
"Yo, if you need help redecorating, I will personally help you. This fluff has got to go, babe." Caesar shook his head at her bright walls and frilly designs.
"Oh perfect, Caesar. I've been dying for someone to volunteer. Next Saturday would work great for me. Thank you so much for offering." Jazmine replied smoothly, a big smile on her face. Caesar shifted his jaw as he glanced at a smirking Huey.
"Uhh… I got work on Saturday… yeah…." Caesar lied, avoiding her gaze as he took a seat at her desk.
"Don't worry, I'm willing to work around your schedule. We'll talk." Jazmine continued to smile before she turned to go into her walk-in closet to hang her jacket.
"Fuck." Caesar mouthed once her back was turned. Then he looked back over to Huey. "You helpin' her redecorate?" He whispered.
"Nope." Huey replied, his voice at a normal tone. "I wasn't going to allow her to rope me into it the way she did you."
"Nigga-"
"What'd you guys say?" Jazmine asked when she came out.
"Nothing." Huey answered, directing his eyes back to the paper on his lap. Jazmine shrugged before plopping on her bed, laying on her stomach as she flicked on the TV.
"Hold the hell up." Caesar spoke after about five seconds. "This ain't gonna work."
"What do you mean?" Jazmine cocked her head.
"I mean we ain't gonna just sit here and do our own thing. Huey over there reading his newspaper like a retired old man, you sittin' here watching… what is this, The Game? Ew."
"Hush."
"BET still intends to destroy black people." Huey commented without looking up from his paper.
"I said hush." Jazmine glanced back to him with a smirk.
"Hello, back to me," Caesar said before their bantering love-fest could commence. "As I was saying, I don't just wanna sit in this gay-ass room, no offense Jazzy, and do nothing. It's Friday, niggas! Let's do somethin'!"
"But we have. Me and Huey were walking around the mall earlier, then almost right after, we came by your house and picked you up." Jazmine said.
"Yeah, but we left without a plan. We came straight here. I don't like this plan." Caesar pouted.
"Then what do you suggest?" Huey asked, briefly glancing at him as he turned a page. Caesar thought about it for a minute.
"Ooh, I know!" He said suddenly. "The movie theater."
"The one all the way up by the mall? But we just-"
"Not that one." Caesar cut Jazmine off with a grin. Her eyes widened.
"Oh no. You're not talking about the seedy one down in the lower end of Woodcrest are you?"
"Not seedy, princess. Ghetto." He corrected.
"Why would we go to that one of all places?"
"Because Jazz, I just remembered a movie that's now playing at that one. Cuz I know they ain't gonna show it at the theater on the good side of town. It's a black movie."
"They used to. Until the employees unionized and the theater company was shut down indefinitely. The one that went in its place has a strict policy on African-American movies." Huey explained simply before looking up from his paper, finally setting it aside. "What's the movie that's playing?"
"I ain't tellin' you cuz you'll say no."
"Tell me, tell me!" Jazmine begged, crawling over closer to him. Caesar chuckled and leaned up in his chair before cupping his hand over his mouth and whispering in her ear. Jazmine's jaw dropped with a squeal.
"Shut up! I didn't even hear about that movie coming out!"
"You gotta be in the know like me, babygirl." Caesar smirked.
"Let's do it." Jazmine smiled.
"Hell yes."
"Hell no. What movie?" Huey demanded.
"I think if we hurry we can make the next showing. That one starts at 7:30." Caesar said to Jazmine.
"You call Riley, I'll call Cindy?"
"Perfect." Caesar agreed, pulling his phone out and quickly hitting speed-dial.
"I know you both hear me talking to you."
"Yo Riley!" Caesar said loudly when he heard the phone answer, continuing to ignore Huey. "Whaddup, man?"
"Ain't shit, nigga. Whatchu want?" He sounded groggy as if he had just woken up.
"I wanted to ask you if you wanted to roll with me, Jazmine, Huey, and Cindy to see a movie. We're goin' to the one down near your side of town."
"Oh for real?" That suddenly caught his interest. "What time?"
"I think the next show starts in a half hour so do you wanna meet us there?"
"Yeah, yeah, that'll be good. I'll see y'all there. But which movie we goin' to see?"
"My nigga, you will know which one we're goin' to once you see the title." Caesar smirked while Riley snickered.
"Aiight. I'll see you."
"Later." Caesar said before hanging up. "You get in touch with Cin?" He asked Jazmine.
"Yup. It's perfect because she happens to be in town."
"Oh really?" Caesar raised an eyebrow. "Do tell."
"For once, I don't think it has anything to do with Riley. She said she had to handle something with her mom." She explained, shrugging a shoulder. She looked to know more of the story, but Caesar didn't press her. If it was about Cindy's mom, then it must've been important.
"Aiight, well let's peace out. I wanna get there to get tickets before it sells out. You know how niggas do." Caesar grinned, rising from Jazmine's chair.
"I'm not going." Huey stated stubbornly.
"Don't be silly, Huey. Yes you are." Jazmine smiled easily, grabbing his hand and attempting to pull him off the bed. He didn't budge.
"No, I'm not. Not until I know what we're seeing."
"You'll like it though!"
"You and I both know that's a lie." Jazmine held his gaze until her smile began to morph into a smirk.
"Come on, Huey." Her voice all of the sudden when silky as she leaned her hands down on the bed, her cleavage in her scoop-necked top now prominently visible. Caesar bit back a chuckle. The girl was good.
"Do whateva you gotta do to get him in the car, girl. I'll be downstairs. Five minutes though." Caesar grinned, passing by her as he headed for the door.
"Four more than I'll need." Jazmine tossed over her shoulder, causing Caesar to crack up as he pulled the bedroom door shut.
Cindy's POV
Cindy was more than happy when she got the call from Jazmine to come see a movie with them. She suddenly needed some down-time to calm her nerves.
She had been in town for the sole purpose of going home to see her mother. More like speak to her. And lecture her. And have their usual screaming match…. And then eventually just say, "screw it," hand her the money, and leave.
They did this at least once every month. Usually near the beginning of the month like it was this time. The first of June… bill day. Bills for the utilities, bills for the luxuries, and the bill for the monthly mortgage.
Cindy's parents divorced when she was eleven, based on the fact that her mother had been cheating on her father, along with other things. This caused her father, the breadwinner in the relationship, to leave her mother, the classic trophy wife. He hadn't completely hung them out to dry though, especially because he still deeply cared about his daughter. So, being that he was a retired player for the Chicago Bears, he could afford to send them both a monthly supplement of money. He originally started out only giving money to his ex-wife when Cindy was still young; he made sure that they had enough for her to keep a roof over their heads and provide for Cindy as needed. When she finally graduated from high school, went on to college, and got her own apartment, he chipped in majorly of course, but also began to send Cindy a separate monthly check, and had cut her mother off. Cindy got a panicked call early one morning that all her bills were due that day and her father's check had never came. Cindy not only came back to town to help her pay the rest of the costs, but had also driven all the way to her father's new estate out of town and begged him to continue to send her mother money. After hours of arguing about it, her father had complied, which Cindy was grateful for. And her mother was grateful too… for a while.
Eventually, she started to go right back to her old self. Spending money as if she had no limit on designer-labeled clothing, expensive jewelry, top-shelf wine and alcohol, and more and worse. And from the way she complained at times, Cindy suspected that her father had cut back on how much he gave to her, and for good reason. He probably figured she'd start blowing it all. It made Cindy furious.
"This is RIDICULOUS, dammit!" Cindy had shouted only a several minutes prior.
"Lemme tell you somethin'. You need to watch your fucking mouth when you speak to me."Her mother had advised in a calm and slightly slurred voice before she tossed her head back, downing her wine.
"I'll watch mine when you watch yours." Cindy growled in return. "You are unbelievable. Daddy doesn't keep sending you money to waste on getting drunk and blow it all on things you don't even need."
"Well you can tell that bastard of a 'Daddy' to send more. Because this isn't cutting it… and I need every drop of this, thank you very much." Her mother retorted, lifting her bottle of Cabernet and pouring herself another tall glass.
"I can't keep bailing you out like this!"
"I know you shouldn't have to, sweetie." Her mother had replied with fake modesty. "That's why if you just talk to him about it-"
"NO." Cindy immediately cut her off. "He gives us both more than enough. And you're taking advantage." Then she had scoffed. "Cheating on him just wasn't enough, huh?"
That had caused her mother to instantly rise to her feet and get in her face. "Unless you want those pretty teeth knocked the hell out of that smart-ass mouth, I'd shut the fuck up NOW!" Cindy stood her ground, unwavering as she glared back at her mother. She tended to get like this when she was drunk. Cindy didn't have to wonder where she got her quick temper from.
"Now look," Her mother's voice had all the sudden went back to normal after a beat. "You can either loan me the money, or not. I really don't care at this point. You know I have my other ways." She eluded before stepping around Cindy.
"…You wouldn't."
"Oh honey… you clearly don't know me."
Cindy spun around and turned to look at her mother's smirking face. "You could go to jail for that."
"Your father would bail me. And eventually start paying me more money so that it wouldn't happen again." She shrugged. "Besides, the pros never get caught." Cindy had slowly shook her head at the woman in front of her. She would never change until it was too late.
"I'm so done with this conversation. Fuck it." Cindy muttered, reaching into her purse and pulling out her wallet. Her mother eyed it eagerly as Cindy thumbed through the amount she was requested to bring.
"Oh thank you, baby. So much." Her mother cooed as she sauntered closer, her palm held out, practically itching to snatch it up. Cindy pulled her hand back out of arm's reach and made strong eye contact with her, causing her to pause.
"I'm not going to keep doing this. Sink or swim, you're going to have to figure something out. Get a REAL job, something that's actually beneficial and that isn't self-deprecating. Move out of here and get an affordable place. The hell do you need this mansion-style home when you're the only one here?"
"The housekeepers don't count?" Her mother responded innocently. Cindy only narrowed her eyes.
"And maybe you really need to cut some things that aren't necessities. You can't keep living like this. Something's gotta give." Her mother smiled at her before she took both of Cindy's hands in hers, a slight grip on the hand that held the money.
"Oh Cynthia," Her mother continued to smile while Cindy had cringed. "You and your father give me all that I need." She winked before firmly sliding the dollar bills out of her hand and beginning to walk away from her.
"Clearly not or you wouldn't keep BEING in this situation!" Cindy shouted at her back.
"Have a nice afternoon, dear. Gotta go make some calls." Her mother had waved over her shoulder without even having the decency to turn around.
Cindy had stormed out in anger after that. She didn't know why she kept feeding into her games. The only reason she could come up with was that she was her mother. Family. She owed her some type of loyalty. But at what costs?
She turned off her car after she pulled into a parking stall, stepping outside as she approached the entrance to the theater. The place was so run-down, grimy, and dirty, but it was also hella cheap. And it was the only place within miles that showed the black movies.
When she walked in, she searched the area to find her friends, but there were people everywhere. There must've been a good-ass movie playing if all these niggas were packed in here.
"HELL no." She heard a familiarly irritated voice say. She grinned as she looked towards the ticket booth, spotting the afro. She easily headed towards them, passing the long line of people with no shame.
"Aye, white girl, you cuttin'!"
"Nigga, I'm wit them!" Cindy barked, whipping her head to look back at the large black man who called her out.
"My bad ma, you got it!" Cindy shot him another warning look before turning to walk again, letting out a smirk once her back was turned. The only way to make it in this hood was to own it with no fear.
"Heeyyy." Cindy greeted, coming up behind her crew.
"Cin, you found us!" Jazmine smiled, turning around.
"Heard and saw this one." Cindy grinned, pointing up at Huey's afro. He glared before turning back to Jazmine and Caesar.
"I repeat. Hell NO."
"Hell no what?" Cindy asked them.
"He's hell no-ing our movie choice." Caesar shrugged.
"Which would be? Jazz ain't tell me."
Surprisingly, Huey was the one to point up the list of movies hanging on the wall above the booth. Only one stood out, being as though it was apparently the movie of the week and at the very top:
SOUL PLANE 3: BLACK AGAIN!
"Shut up!" Cindy cried. "I ain't know about this movie coming out!"
"Me neither!" Jazmine giggled. "So excited."
"There's been an eleven-year wait, but who cares!"
"I don't want to see this travesty of a movie." Huey interrupted the girls.
"Tough, Freeman. You've been overruled and outnumbered." Caesar said with an easy smile.
"Speaking of, where's Riley?" Cindy asked, looking around as they inched ahead in line. She could've sworn she saw Caesar smirk.
"I already texted your boy. He on his way. He said he'll meet us inside. He might be a lil late." He explained.
My boy?
"Cool." Cindy nodded.
"We know you guys can't go anywhere without each other." Jazmine teased.
"Psh. Girl, not even. He's lucky I tolerate his ass." Cindy brushed off.
…Why is she smirking now too?!
It wasn't long before the four of them paid for their tickets, got to their designated theater, and found good seats. Cindy sat next to Caesar, saving the aisle seat to her left for Riley. She was hoping his ass would hurry up as the trailers started to play; she didn't want him to miss the beginning. Because knowing Riley, this boy was going to come in looking like-
"Aye. Sorry I'm late." Someone said as they slid into the seat beside her. She grinned as she turned to look at Riley.
…That.
Riley's POV
Riley didn't care how much his friends were snickering. When it came to seeing new movies, Riley was prepared. He got there in his standard, incognito theater gear: low hat and dark shades, his big-ass coat with the internal pockets, baggy jeans for extra pocket space, and every snack that he could take. Oh yeah, and his video camera.
"Did you sneak in again?" Cindy whispered almost mutely so that Jazmine wouldn't hear and freak out. Riley nodded with a smirk, sliding off his glasses. "How?"
"The side door in the alley where the employees go to smoke." He shrugged as he set up his small camera inside the sleeve of his jacket, holding it there as he rested it on the arm rest.
"Can you see it?"
"Naw, you're good." Cindy chuckled.
"Thanks for savin' me the aisle seat. I love this theater's setup." Cindy rolled her eyes with a grin. The theater split its rows down the middle of the room, so Riley was pretty much guaranteed to have a perfect shot.
"Sure. Now, do you have snacks?" Cindy asked with a smile.
"You say snacks?" Caesar chimed in from beside her.
"What about snacks?" Jazmine whisper-shouted down to them.
"Damn vultures." Riley smirked, looking around before digging into his coat pockets, beginning to pull out goodies. "I got Snickers, gummi bears-"
"Me, me, me!"
Riley continued as he passed the bag down the line. "Tootsie Pops, Sour Patch Kids-"
"I'll take those." Caesar said. Riley tossed the bag to him over Cindy's head before handing something to her.
"Pass these pretzel sticks down to McHater." He told Cindy.
"Are they lightly salted?" They heard Huey question quietly.
"Nigga, if you don't shut the hell up and just take the snacks. Ungrateful ass!" Riley snapped. Cindy giggled, then looked at him expectedly.
"You know I got us." Riley smirked, reaching into his jacket again to pull out a large Ziploc bag of popcorn.
"Thank God." Cindy whispered. "I'd rather starve myself to death than eat their vermin-infested popcorn." After he unzipped it for her, Cindy took a piece out and popped it into her mouth, quietly humming after. Riley left the open bag on his lap so that it was partially concealed to their friends. He then reached into his baggy pocket and carefully pulled out a medium-sized plastic cup with a lid and straw. He sat it in the cup holder, allowing Cindy to immediately take a taste.
"Mm… grape soda?" She said before taking another sip.
"You already know. And damn girl, don't suck it all down!"
"Why didn't we get any soda?" Jazmine complained.
"Or popcorn?" Caesar demanded, eyeing the way Cindy had quickly tried to sneak a piece to her mouth.
"NIGGAS!" A random dude sitting behind them snapped, causing the group to jump. "Either offer me up some goddamn snacks, or shut the hell up! The movie's starting!"
2 Hours Later
"Come on, Huey! Level with me on some real shit. That movie was funny as hell, wasn't it? Wasn't it?" Caesar was still laughing as he nudged him with his elbow.
"You're all lucky I didn't put a stop to that film."
"…Yoooo, that must mean he liked it better than Soul Plane 2! That's better than nothin'! Remember how he was actin' up, Jazz?" Riley grinned while Jazmine laughed.
"False. Not even close. It only means that I'm still happily retired." Huey cut off their laughter, walking past them.
"…Hater." Riley muttered as they all followed him out of the building. The movie had recently ended and the group was now headed out into the parking lot.
"Hey, where's your car, Reez?" Cindy asked, not seeing the bright blue vehicle anywhere.
"I walked." Riley shrugged. "Gimme a ride home?"
"Sure." Cindy replied, hitting the button to unlock her doors. "What are y'all gonna do?" Cindy asked the rest of them.
"Might hang out with these two for a bit 'fore I head home. What y'all bout to do?" Caesar questioned, looking between the two of them.
"Droppin' his ass off and goin' home. It's been a long day." Cindy shook her head.
"Mm-hm." Caesar responded simply. The hell?
"It's been real, y'all. Thanks for hittin' me up about the movie. I'll holla." Riley tossed the peace sign before opening the car door and sliding in the passenger seat. He watched Cindy finish saying her goodbyes before she got in and shut the door.
"Damn, that was fun. I needed this." She smiled, starting the car.
"Whatchu mean?"
"Just a long day."
"Yeah, you mentioned that. What's up though?" Riley asked, raising a brow when a look came over her face.
"Had to see my mom today. That's why I was in town." She finally said, pulling off.
"Oh damn." Riley muttered. "Same shit?"
"Different day." Riley knew the whole story between Cindy and her mom. He knew about her basically living off the money Cindy's dad sent her, but splurging it on unnecessary, rich-white-girl stuff. He knew that she was still involved with some real shady shit at her age. And he knew that she continued to mooch off Cindy every month by guilting her into it. And it pissed Riley off.
"Girl…." Riley began, glancing at her.
"I already know." She sighed.
"I told you long time ago to shut that down."
"I'm trying."
"What's there to try about? All you gotta say one good time is, 'No, bitch. I ain't givin' you any money.' And don't budge. That's it. She a grown-ass woman, she'll figure it out."
"I'm worried about the ways she'll figure it out." Cindy muttered.
"Again, that's one hundred percent her business. If she still out there trickin', oh well. If she still involved with the hustlin' world, that's on her."
"Do you know how not only demoralizing but how embarrassing that is? She's my mom. She shouldn't be havin' to do that shit."
"She shouldn't want to do that shit, Cin. But it's her life. You can't stop her. But if you keep enabling her the way you are, you're enabling the problem." Riley told her matter-of-factly. Cindy sighed again, silent for the rest of the short way back to Riley's apartment. When she pulled up to the curb, she put the car in park and turned to face him.
"Have a good night, Reezy. I'll see you later." She said quietly as she leaned over, about to give him a hug. Riley accepted the light embrace, but moved to press his lips briefly against hers. When he pulled back, he looked at her seriously.
"Aye. Don't stress over this. She ain't gonna keep usin' you like that. Sooner or later, you'll have to be straight with her about it."
"I know." She nodded solemnly.
"Stop thinkin' about it tonight. Come inside wit me." Riley told her.
"Reezy, I'm tired." Cindy said in a reserved tone, now pulling back.
"So stay the night. Come on." He replied before leaning around her to open her door. Then he pulled back and opened his own door, getting out. He heard Cindy sigh again before she exited the car. She locked her doors before she started to follow Riley up to his apartment building.
"You want a drink when we get in here?" Riley asked her as they walked through the main entrance.
"That would be great." Cindy answered, slipping an arm around his waist as they walked down the hall. Riley chuckled, tossing his arm around her shoulder.
"You sound like you need a couple, girl."
"Hell yes."
"I gotchu."
"…Thanks. I needed my cuddy-buddy tonight." Cindy smiled up at him. Riley grinned when he felt her lips peck his cheek. He squeezed her shoulder gently in return.
"I'm there for you, babe."
Riley stretched in bed as he felt himself awaking. He rolled over and was almost immediately met with an accidental face full of hair. He pulled away and wiped at his face repeatedly, beginning to open his eyes. Cindy laid beside him, her long hair sprawled out behind her. She was also wearing his clothes: a long wife beater of his and a pair of his boxer shorts. This was perhaps the one time since they started sleeping together that he actually saw her with clothes on in the bed, probably due to the fact that they didn't have sex last night. She'd been tired and had basically just wanted to cuddle, which was cool for Riley. That was part of their deal anyway. Besides, she'd promised him they'd make it up tonight at her place.
Maybe sooner than that. Riley thought with a grin, deciding to run a hand down the curve of her hip. She stirred gently and emitted a soft moan.
"Wake up, sexy." Riley murmured, leaning close to her ear before capturing it between his teeth. Cindy shivered, turning her head away as he tugged on her lobe.
"Reezy…." Cindy groaned in a husky voice.
"Mmm, say my name like that again." Riley smirked, smoothly rolling her so that she was lying on her stomach before gently sliding on top of her.
"Reez," Cindy lightly moaned with a giggle, shifting under his weight. She then sighed as he swept her hair out of the way before beginning to kiss the back of her neck. "What are you doing?" She asked breathily.
"Wakin' you up." He murmured before lightly biting her shoulder, causing her to emit a noise. "You up?"
"I'm up." She agreed hazily.
"Good." Riley smirked mischievously as he purposefully grinded against her backside, making her gasp. "Getcha ass up. Let's go get some breakfast." He said before lifting himself off her and starting to make his way off the bed.
"Go?" Cindy asked, finally lifting her head and rising up as she looked over at him.
"Yeah, I ain't got no food in here and I'm hungry."
"It's way past breakfast time though."
"Lunch then. So hurry ya ass, stop askin' 20 questions, and stop pretendin' like your face ain't red right now." Riley gave her an amused look. "Like the wood this morning?" He gestured down to himself with a cocky grin. Cindy blushed even more as she quickly looked away and rose from the bed.
"I'm going to the bathroom, nigga." She stated, purposefully averting her eyes as she passed him.
"Gurl, I know you want dis DIH!"
One Hour and 30 Minutes Later
"If this kid don't stop cryin', I'm gonna have to punch him in the throat. I'm just sayin'." Riley muttered, shooting another glare at the table diagonal of them. Cindy had driven them to Luke's, a decent restaurant downtown so they would be close to her apartment and could head straight there afterwards.
Cindy let out a snort and shrugged. "I'll hold him down for you." She said before taking another slurp of her Pepsi.
"You got me?" Riley grinned. Cindy slurped again while she held out her fist. Riley leaned slightly to bump it. "My nigga, my nigga, my nigga?"
Cindy almost spat out her drink as she fought to contain her laughter. "Yooo, that video still kills me!" She exclaimed after she finished swallowing.
"My muthafuckin' nigga." Riley finished, pumping his fist while Cindy cracked up. "I gotta make that my ringtone, yo." He said thoughtfully, already pulling out his phone.
"You're so dumb." Cindy shook her head at him.
"Don't hate, babe."
"That's one thing I don't do, boo… but I know who does." She said after a pause, making Riley lift his head back up to her.
"Who, Huey?"
"No… well yeah, but that ain't who I'm talkin' bout right now. I'm talking about your waitress." Cindy smirked, quickly shifting her eyes to the left, signaling Riley to do the same. After a moment, he finally put his phone on the table and casually glanced over to the far sections of tables across the room. The waitress that had seated them was currently at an empty table while she wiped it down. But judging by the direction she was faced, the slow and haphazard way she was scrubbing, and the way she instantly lifted her eyes and made immediate eye contact with Riley, it was obvious she had been watching their table for a while.
"She ain't look like she hatin' on me though." Riley said, slipping into an easy half-smile for the waitress as he gave her a slight head nod. She smiled brightly back and added a little wave before dropping her head again, her hair covering her blushing face.
"Not you, stupid. Me." Cindy finally got his attention back. "Do you know how many times homegirl has looked over here and been all up in my mouth? Lookin' like I've got the answer to life or some shit?" Riley chuckled. Stuff like this was always funny to him.
"Why everybody think we're together though?"
"Maybe because we're literally always together physically… not like that, ass!" Cindy added, making Riley's smirk widen as he snickered.
"You said it, I didn't."
"Yeah whateva." Cindy grinned with an eye roll. Riley glanced back at the waitress who he felt was still sneaking glances over at them.
"On the real, she kinda hot. She was in the grade below me in high school and I'm pretty sure she had the biggest fangirl crush on my brother. I guess I'm just the closest thing to him for her… ah well." He shrugged.
"She looks young, Reez."
"As long as she's eighteen." Riley mumbled almost inaudibly.
"What?"
"Nothin'." Riley responded quickly, looking back at her with an innocent expression. She gave him a look like she clearly heard what he said, which made Riley grin. "I'd never cheat on you though, bae." He told her smoothly.
"If we were actually dating, trust, I know you wouldn't." Cindy smirked. "But we're not, so by all means. If you want her, bag her."
"You serious?" Riley let out a surprised laugh. She shrugged a careless shoulder.
"Not my business. Do you, boo-boo." And with that, Cindy glanced back down at her plate and started working on her slice of apple pie. Riley stared at her with slight awe.
Damn… this… is the shit.
Riley couldn't get over how much he was loving the situation between him and Cindy. He had his best homie, who he was fucking, who was definitely one of the baddest chicks in bed that he'd ever been with before. He didn't know why he hadn't thought of it sooner, but didn't really care. Shit was real. Shit was on point. Cindy could get it. And the best part was that he didn't have to worry about getting bored, or worse: too attached. As long as they chilled with it every once in a while, had their me-time, explore other options, and all that good shit, they'd never have to worry about those problems. And it was nice! Riley had already been with a few other girls since him and Cindy had first hooked up initially. So far they'd been nice… average… which is pretty much what Riley expected. They didn't have shit on Cindy. But variability was good. He wasn't tryna rely on her too much. And he just prayed to God she wasn't gonna start to rely on him. That would fuck everything up. But judging on how she was, Riley didn't sense that to be a problem.
Riley observed her as he leaned back in his chair, lifting his Rum and Coke to his mouth. He could see why the waitress chick might feel intimidated. Cindy was bad. She had a thing about not wearing the same clothes twice back-to-back (diva), so she was currently adorned in Riley's. She was wearing his black tank that said U.O.E.N.O in bold red letters, showing off her nice curves and cleavage. For her bottoms, this girl had borrowed a plain black pair of Riley's knit Calvin Klein boxers. Riley had initially thought she'd been bluffing when she said she was going to wear them out, but shit, she wasn't lying. Luckily, they just looked like shorts on her from a distance, so she didn't look like no hoe. Then she had on the Nikes Riley had bought for her, her hair twisted down into one twisty side braid, and a borrowed red snapback on her head.
"What?"
"Huh?" Riley practically grunted, his eyes fixating on hers immediately. She was giving him an odd stare, paused mid-bite with her fork to her lips.
"Why you lookin' at me like that, nigga?" She asked, consciously brushing her hand across her left cheek.
Riley made some incoherent noises as he shrugged. "I wasn't lookin' at you, I blanked out and was starin' into space. You just got caught in my line of vision."
"…Whateva." Cindy chuckled with a shake of her head, finishing her last bite of pie. Then she glanced away for a moment and groaned. "I think I see your little waitress startin' to come over."
"Yeah?" Riley asked, not turning to look.
Cindy nodded. "You gonna try and bag?"
"Maybe, I dunno." Riley shrugged.
"Watch how excited she gets when she asks if it's two."
"What?" Riley asked, confused. She was rushing her words.
"Two checks. Watch how excited she'll get." Cindy repeated even faster, her voice quieting as she closed her mouth, turning again to look at the waitress approaching. Riley still had no idea what she had just said.
"Hey hey." She greeted Riley as she came to the table.
"Whaddup, Asheneique?" He replied, quickly eyeing the nametag. She giggled, brushing a lock of hair behind her ear while Riley noticed Cindy roll her eyes across from him and clear her throat. The waitress finally turned and looked, barely acknowledging her.
"Sooo," She began, eyes right back on Riley. "Will this be one or two checks?"
…Oh. Riley thought, realizing this is what Cindy must've been talking about. He saw her briefly give him a look as if to say wait for it.
"It's gonna be two checks." He told her simply. Almost immediately, he watched her eyes brightly light up, clearly pleased with his answer.
"Excellent. I'll be right back with your bills." She said perkily before practically bouncing away. As soon as she was out of earshot, both Riley and Cindy let out sputtered snickers.
"Daammnnn." Riley chuckled.
"Did you hear the emphasis she put on bill-zzz?" Cindy cracked.
"I'm done, yo. This shit too funny."
"Bet any money she comin' back with her number on your receipt."
"Shut the hell up."
"…You right." Cindy said after pondering for a moment. "She looks like the type of girl to wait for you to make a move."
"You just got all the answers, don't you?" Riley said sarcastically, leaning back in his seat.
"For this shit, yeah." Cindy grinned, matching his pose. "Chicks know how other chicks think. It's basic science."
It wasn't long after when Riley noticed their waitress approaching again. They silenced as she came to the table, a big smile on her face. She kept it and made direct eye contact with Riley as she handed him his check. She didn't take her eyes off his as she placed her hand face-down on the table, Cindy's bill underneath it, and slid it halfway over to her on the table.
"Thank you?" Riley managed to get out. It was the best he could do without uttering "oh shit." His focus was on Cindy, who had watched the girl not even look at her as she slid her check on the table like that. Her eyes were set to kill mode as she picked up her bill, glaring daggers into the back of her head, but surprisingly looked to be biting her tongue as she started to dig through her purse.
"Anything else I can do for you at the moment?" Asheneique asked, still only speaking to Riley with a pleasant smile.
"Uhh, naw. We're good to go right now, Ash. Thanks." Riley responded, pulling out his wallet and fishing out a twenty. Before he could even hand it to her with his bill-
"HERE, Asheneique!" Cindy stated loudly, causing both of them to jump. "Oh, thank you for finally giving me your full attention and making eye contact with me, because you haven't done that since I sat my ass down." She continued the way only Cindy could: like a boss. "I'm going to the restroom, but I wanted to personally hand my check and card to you, so that when I come back you fucking place them both in my hand and not on the damn table." She finished, placing her credit card and receipt promptly in Asheneique's open palm. She then stood, causing her to back up out of her way quickly. Cindy paused, turning to look at her with a pleasant smile.
"Oh yes. And I'll give you your tip now. Take a class on how to become a better waiter and get some damn respect, 'kay?" And with that, she spun on her heel and marched off. Asheneique's jaw was ajar. Riley had to place his hand over his mouth to cover up his expression and his grin.
"I-I'm gonna go put these in." She mumbled, taking Riley's money and check before quickly slinking away. Riley chuckled, shaking his head.
Damn… Cindy could go in. Which is one of the things Riley loved about her. And it was then that he decided that he didn't want Asheneique's number, or have the urge to give her his. Not just based on the fact that she had kinda been disrespectful to Cindy, but because he just wasn't as into it like he'd thought.
…He had thought of another fun idea though.
Because Asheneique returned earlier than Cindy, Riley had asked to borrow her pen and pad for a minute.
"What are you doing?" She asked with confusion, watching him quickly jot something down.
"Aiight look. Just call this number later today and ask who you're speaking to." Riley explained, handing the pad back.
"Will it be you?" She asked hopefully, causing Riley to smirk.
"Maybe. Just do it. You'll thank me, trust me." Asheneique giggled flirtaciously at him, but then quieted down once they both saw Cindy nearing again. She immediately held out Cindy's card and receipt.
"Here you go, miss." She told her quietly. Cindy let out a slight scoff before taking it.
"Thanks." She quipped, plucking it out of her hand. "Ready, Reez?" She asked, turning her back on her.
"Yeah, let's bounce." Riley nodded, standing as he dropped two dollars for tip on the table.
"Thank you." Asheneique said timidly with a small smile.
"Call that number later and you'll really thank me." Riley smirked, giving her a wink as he passed by her. He heard her giggle again behind him and shook his head, following Cindy through the restaurant.
"Really though, Reez?" Cindy asked, glancing over her shoulder at him as they walked.
"What? I can't help it if the biddies love me and think I'm sexy." He shrugged, causing Cindy to roll her eyes and turn back. He snickered, tossing an arm over her shoulder. "I appreciate you keepin' your temper under control though. That's my boo." He said into her ear before planting a smooch on her cheek.
"Whateva, boy." Cindy rolled her eyes again, this time with a smile. "Why'd you give her your number though? Why ain't you just take hers?"
"I didn't." He grinned at her puzzled expression.
"Then who's?"
"Huey's."
Cindy let out a laugh. "You're a mess."
"You love it."
"Huey's gonna kill you."
"But Jazz might kill him first if she sees another girl texting his phone. Especially if this girl starts flirtin' with him. Oooh, I hope she do! Gonna get a front-row seat for that one."
Cindy giggled, shaking her head. "Again, you're messed up."
Riley was about to respond when he felt someone gently brush against his back to get his attention and call his name.
"Esco!"
Riley turned and stopped, making Cindy stop with him. Then he looked at the counter bar immediately to his right and his eyes widened.
"Tish?"
Ohhhhhh she done went and cliff-hanged like that though? Yoooooo! XD
