The Punchy Pokémon
Anna and July stood across from each other as their Pokémon, Chan and Lee, were sparing. Jovan watches his sister and friend spars. Everyone thought it was a good idea to train here for a bit while Ash and Pikachu was battling a Hitmonchan.
"Chan, use Mega Punch!" July ordered.
"Block it with Mega Kick!" Anna shouted.
Lee jumps into the air and kicks Chan's punch. The two Pokémon were evenly match. Lee jumps into the air and strikes Chan with his knee. Chan grunted a bit and responded with a Fire Punch. Before they can deliver another attack, Anna sees a tall muscular man with a Hitmonchan watching them. The man was wearing a white tank top shirt, black jeans and black sneakers. He was wearing a red towel around his neck.
"You two girls have very impressive Fighting Pokémon you have there." he said.
Anna and July walks up to him. "Who are you?" Anna asked.
"My name is Anthony." Anthony said. "I'm on my way to the Gym before heading to the P1 Grand Prix." Anthony and Hitmonchan turns around and ran down the road.
"Who was that?" Jovan asks his sister, walking up to her.
"That was my father and Hitmonchan." a voice said.
Jovan turns around to see a girl standing behind him with Ash and his friends. The girl was wearing a white shirt and a blue skirt. She has long brown hair and blue eyes.
"Are you his daughter?" July asks her.
"Yes." she said. "I'm Rebecca."
"It's nice to meet you." Jovan smiled.
"Brock said that all of you are going to help." Rebecca said.
Rebecca led them all inside the gas station. In the room was some exercise equipment. At the back of the room was sign.
"The Fighting Spirit Gym." Misty read.
"It sure doesn't look like a ordinary Pokémon Gym." Ash said.
There was a poster that caught Brock's attention. On the poster was Hitmonchan knocking out a Hitmonlee.
"What's the P1 Grand Prix?" Brock asks Rebecca, turning his head around to look at her.
"P1 is short for Pokémon number one Grand Prix." Rebecca explains. "It's a tournament for fighting Pokémon. Because my father wants to win the P1, he's training all the time and ignoring his family."
"If we defeat your father's Hitmonchan, your dad will come to his senses and will come back home." Brock said.
"Right." Rebecca nodded her head.
"Don't worry." Brock said as his face blushes. "Leave it to us."
Ash and Misty were a little nervous because they know where Brock is going with this.
"We'll take care of it." Brock said to Rebecca before looking at Ash. "Ash, don't you have a Fighting Pokémon we can use?"
Ash looks at him. "What are you talking about?" he asks confused.
"You don't mean Primeape, do you?" Misty asked nervously.
"Yeah." Ash said with a determined look. "Primeape can do the job."
"And I got Geodude." Brock said, taking out Geodude's Poké Ball. "We'll both enter the tournament and defeat that Hitmonchan."
"I didn't know that you guys were going to be here." a voice said.
July turns around and sees Jack and his Machoke.
"It's been awhile, Jovan." Jack smiled.
"What are you doing here, Jack?" Seth asked.
"I'm here to compete in the P1 Grand Prix as well." Jack answers him. "I've heard there was another P1 Championship belt after the people made a second belt."
"I see." Jovan said.
"Are you two girls going to compete too?" Jack asked Anna and July.
"Might as well." July answers with a smile. "Chan and Lee was looking to have match with you."
"Alright then." Jack smiles.
Meanwhile, Team Rocket and Team Neo was looking at a poster in front of the dome arena.
"Would you take a look at the prize?" Justin asked.
On the poster was a golden Poké Ball with a blue belt.
"I would love to get our hands on those two championship belts." Jessie said.
"Maybe we can sell it and eat at the all-you-can-eat-buffet." Sam suggested.
"Unlimited food." Meowth said with a dreamy face. "Honey-glazed ham, roast leg of ham, strawberry jam."
"Grilled steaks, ice cream sundaes!" James cheered.
Jessie takes out two giant fans. "Can't you idiots think anything else than food?!" Jessie shouted angrily, slapping them.
"What would you do with the money, Libby?" Justin asks with a red mark on his face.
"Hm?" Libby asked.
"What will you do if you had all that extra money, Libby?" Sam asked.
Libby smiles. "First, I would go to the salon for a complete makeover. Then I would buy dresses, shoes and purses. After that I will host a party with all the important actors and actresses and spend a nice quite relaxing evening with my true love."
"I hate to interrupt your dream sequence." James interrupted. "But do we have an idea to get into the competition? Only Fighting Pokémon are allowed in."
"We don't have any Fighting Pokémon." Meowth said.
"That's why we're going to borrow one." Jessie said with an evil smile on her face.
Libby turns her head to the left and sees a young teenage boy with a Pokémon walking towards the dome. The young teenage boy was wearing a green shirt, blue jeans and sneakers underneath a brown cloak. Walking next to him was a blue, bipedal Pokémon with muscular arms. It has bulbous eyes that protrude from the top of its head. Its belly is covered by a white and black swirl. There appear to be white gloves on its hands, and it has rounded, digit-less feet. It has powerful muscles in its arms and legs.
"This one will do." Libby grins evilly.
"Poliwrath, the Polish Wrath." Sam said.
One hour has passed and there was a lot of people in front of the doors and walking inside the dome.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, our fighting Pokémon festival, the P1 Grand Prix, is about to begin!" a announcer said over the speaker.
There were so many people sitting down in their seats. In the middle of the room was two boxing rings. Libby walks out of the Men's Locker room, wearing the brown cloak and has Poliwrath's Poké Ball.
Half hour later, the announcer spoke.
"Ladies and gentlemen, our contestants are about to enter the ring for the P1 Grand Prix."
Jack and his Machoke appears from the floor.
"Introducing the main powerhouse, Machoke and its trainer, Jack!"
Poliwrath appears with its trainer.
"The challenger, the Polish Wrath, Poliwrath has appeared with its trainer, Ray!"
July and Anna steps into the ring with their Pokémon and waves to the crowd.
"Today we have two new trainers for their first debut in the P1 Grand Prix to compete. Please give a good welcome to July and Anna!"
"Good luck, Anna." July said, sticking her hand out in front of her friend.
"You too." Anna said, shaking July's hand.
Everyone clears the ring as July and her opponent were standing outside of the ring. Her opponent sent out his Pokémon into the ring. It is a humanoid, bipedal Pokémon that has gray skin. There are three brown ridges on top of its head, and it has large red eyes and relatively flat face. Its chest has three, thin, rib-like stripes on either side. Its feet appear to have no toes, while its hands have five fingers. It has a short, stubby tail.
"And now for the first match, our contestants are ready to battle!"
"Let's go, Chan!" July shouted, throwing the Poké Ball in the ring. The Poké Ball opens and Chan appears.
"Hitmonchan!" Chan shouted, throwing in some punches.
The bell rung.
"Machop!" Machop yelled, punching at Hitmonchan.
Hitmonchan has his boxing gloves up, blocking the punches from the Superpower Pokémon.
"Chan!" July called out to Chan. "Wait for an opening to strike!"
As soon as Machop stops punching, Chan quickly attack with great force. The crowd was cheering. Some was rooting Machop while others cheered for Chan to win. But Machop grabs Chan's leg and spins him around. It lets go of him and Chan was sent flying into the pole.
"Chan, are you alright?" July asked him.
Chan looks over his shoulder. "Hitmon." Chan nodded his head.
"Good." July smiled. "Counter it with Mega Punch, followed by several jabs and a uppercut."
Chan turns his head around to face Machop and got up. He punches Machop with great force.
"Chop!" Chop yells out. It tried to attack back, but Chan didn't give his opponent a chance to attack back.
Chan delivers his uppercut and Machop was sent flying in the air and lands on the floor, knocked out.
"Yes!" July cheered.
"And Machop is knocked out by Chan's last attack, which means this match is over! July's Hitmonchan wins the battle and will move on to the second match!"
"Well what do you know." Seth said. He was sitting with Jovan, Dragonair, Slade, Misty, Pikachu and Rebecca with the crowd. "Seems like July won the first match."
"If she keeps this up, July may win the tournament." Jovan said.
"Nair." Dragonair nodded.
Anna's match is up next. Lee stood with his arms crossed, starring at Poliwrath.
"Our next match is Hitmonlee and Poliwrath. Fans, Hitmonlee has powerful kicks. But will Poliwrath be able to beat it?"
The bell rung.
"Lee get in there with Mega Kick!" Anna ordered.
"Hitmonlee!" Lee shouted, jumping into the air and striking Poliwrath.
"Wrath!" Poliwrath shouted in pain.
"Poliwrath!" Libby called. "Punch! Punch!"
Poliwrath responds by punching Lee. The Kicking Pokémon was blocking the punches with his Mega Kick.
"Use High Jump Kick!" Anna commanded.
Lee jumps into the air and strikes Poliwrath with his knee.
"Submission!" Libby commanded.
"Poli!" Poliwrath shouted. It rolls towards Lee at full speed and hits him. The attack sent Lee flying into the metal pole.
"Monlee!" Lee shouted before falling forward.
The bell rung again.
"Poliwrath wins by a Knockout!"
"Lee!" Anna shouted worried, getting into the ring and helping Lee to sit up. "Are you okay?"
"Hitmon." Lee responded, giving his trainer a thumbs up.
"You did your best, Lee." Anna said. "We'll keep training all the way." She helps the Kicking Pokémon onto his feet and the two of them steps out of the ring.
"Are you doing alright, Lee?" July asks him.
"Hitmonlee." Lee said, giving her a thumbs up.
"The rest is up to you and Chan." Anna said to July.
"Chan and I will do our best." July said.
All contestants battle in the ring. Each fight was more exciting for the match. The crowd cheered for their favorite competitor and Jovan cheered for his sister.
"July and her Hitmonchan will advance to the final round. The contestant Jack and his Machoke faces the Wrath Of Poliwrath. Both contestants has a chance to advance to the final round for the championship."
"If we wins this match, Machoke, then we'll be facing July and Chan in the final round." Jack said to Machoke.
"Choke." Machoke nodded its head.
"Remember, Machoke." Jack said, placing his hand on Machoke's shoulder. "No matter how tough the opponent we face, we'll always strike hard."
"Machoke." Machoke nodded before turning around to face Poliwrath.
The bell rung and the match had begun. Both Pokémon rushes toward each other and collided with their fist. They were both evenly match. Poliwrath started throwing some punches at Machoke. The Superpower Pokémon raise it arms to block the attack.
"What's wrong?" Libby called out to Jack. "Too afraid to attack back?"
"Who says I was?" Jack chuckled. "Counter!"
Machoke pushes Poliwrath's punch out of the way and delivers two powerful punches. The Tadpole Pokémon was sent flying into the corner of the ring.
"Kick, Kick, Kick!" Libby ordered.
Poliwrath jumps into the air and tries to kick the opponent. The Superpower Pokémon dodges the attack and strikes Poliwrath with the side of its open hands; repeatedly.
"Seismic Toss!" Libby commanded.
Poliwrath grabs one of Machoke's legs and spun the Superpower Pokémon around.
"Machoke!" Jack shouted, worried about Machoke.
Poliwrath lets go of Machoke and the Superpower Pokémon was sent flying out of the ring. Jack caught Machoke before it can hit the floor. The Superpower Pokémon was knock out.
The bell rung.
"Poliwrath wins by a knockout!"
"Let's go down and see the others." Jovan said to Dragonair, Seth and Slade.
All three of his friends nodded their heads and made their way to the side of the boxing ring.
"Sorry you lost, Jack." Anna said.
"Don't worry about, Anna." Jack said. He looks at Machoke getting up. "You doing okay, Machoke?"
"Choke!" Machoke nodded.
"Let's go see how the others are." Jovan suggested.
They walk over to the first boxing ring where Anthony and Rebecca are reunited.
"I'm glad to see you two reunited." July smiles.
"Thank you." Rebecca said.
"The tournament is almost over." Misty said to Anna and July. "If you and Ash can win one more time, you two will be champions."
"Don't make us laugh."
"Hm?" Jovan turns around and walks around the corner to see a tall person wearing a gray hat and jacket standing next to the hooded trainer.
"There is no chance you can win this tournament." Libby said.
James stuck his head out of the coat. "Once win the championship belts, you can find us at the all-you-can-eat-buffet." James said.
"Will you be quite?!" Jessie shouted, smacking James him behind the head.
"It's them again!" Jovan growled angrily.
"Team Rocket and Team Neo!" July snarled.
"Heh heh." Libby chuckled darkly. "That's right."
Jessie and Libby pulls of their disguises. James was holding Jessie on his shoulders.
"To protect the world from devastation!"
"To unite all peoples within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love!"
"To extend our reach to the st- I can't take it!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now... surrender..." James was trying to say his last line. He was losing his strength and begins to collapse, kneeling down with his face on the floor while Jessie was still on top of him.
Sam just came up from behind Libby and notice Jessie was sitting on top of James. "What did I miss?" Sam asks her.
"A total embarrassment." Libby sighed.
"We're not finished yet." Jessie said with a nervous smile. She gets off of James and allows him to regain his strength. James quickly got up, catching his breath.
"Like I was saying, we're going to the winners around here." Jessie said.
"And you can bet you buffet on that." James said.
The bell rung fifteen minutes later. Chan and Poliwrath attacks as soon as the bell rung.
"And now, the final confrontation. Hitmonchan, a newcomer who fought all the way to the last round, fights off the wrath of Poliwrath. Get ready fans, for a match you'll never forget!"
Chan and Poliwrath collided their fists together with great force. Chan was doing his best to avoid Poliwrath Mega Punches.
"Alright, Chan!" July called out to him. "Keep dodging those punches and find an opening! That way you'll win!"
While everyone was focus on the fight, Dragonair can see Justin crawling out from underneath the boxing ring. The Dragon Pokémon slithers underneath the boxing ring. She can see there was a small bomb attach underneath.
"Jump onto the pole, Poliwrath!" Libby ordered.
Poliwrath jumps onto the pole behind it.
"Press the switch!" Libby yelled to Sam.
Sam chuckled and pressed a button on a gray switch. Nothing happened.
"What happened?" Libby wondered, looking around.
"Justin, didn't you installed the bomb?" Sam asks Justin.
Poliwrath jumps high into the air and was about to do a Body Slam on Chan.
"Use Mega Punch!" July commanded.
Chan punches Poliwrath with great force into the stomach.
"Oh no!" Libby, Sam and Justin yells in terror.
"Mega Punch one more time for good measure!" July ordered.
"Hitmonchan!" Chan shouted, hitting Poliwrath with great force.
"Wrath!" Poliwrath yelled before it fell down sideways.
The bell rung once more.
"This match is over! Hitmonchan has defeated Poliwrath with his Mega Punch! Hitmonchan wins by a knockout! Hitmonchan is the new P1 Champion!"
Everyone made their way to the first boxing ring where Ash, Brock and Primeape was waiting for them. Primeape and Chan was now wearing the P1 Champion Belt, standing with Ash, Brock, July and Anna.
"We should've one the match!" Libby growled in annoyance.
Pikachu comes out from underneath the ring with Dragonair. The two Pokémon hands the two small bombs to Meowth and Justin before they went back to their trainers.
"Thank you." Justin thanks the two Pokémon.
The red light went off on the bomb. Team Rocket and Team Neo gets electrocuted and the two bombs went off. The blast sent them flying out of the arena.
"Looks like Team Rocket is blasting off again!" Team Rocket yelled as Team Rocket and Team Neo disappeared.
Everyone was standing in the middle of the road. Ash shakes hands with Primeape. "Please take care of Primeape." Ash said, turning his head to the left to look at Anthony. "I'm counting on you."
"You don't need to worry." Anthony said. "You can depend on me."
"And I'll make sure that father spends lots of time with out family." Rebecca added.
Jack and his Machoke stood besides Rebecca.
"So Jack, where are you heading now?" July asks him.
"I don't know." Jack answers her. "Where ever the road leads me and Machoke."
"You take good care of yourself, Primeape." Ash said. "I will always be grateful and proud that you're a true P1 Champion."
"Prime..." Primeape smiled with tears sliding down its fur.
"If you come across Pallet Town, make sure to give this to my mom." July said, handing over the belt to Jack.
"You got it." Jack smiled.
"Good bye, you guys." Jovan said, turning around.
Anthony, Rebecca and Jack said goodbye and waves at their friends as they watch them walks away.
Just when they beginning to understand each other, Ash and Primeape goes their separate ways. Maybe they'll meet again someday somewhere. But for now, new Pokémon and new challenges are just waiting ahead.
