A/N: Most people don't know that I love Shoujo Kakumei Utena (Revolutionary Girl Utena). If you haven't seen the anime, you should see it--it's one of the best I've seen, other than Wolf's Rain. :) But if you haven't seen this anime, I think this poem could speak to almost anyone questioning something, or moving on in life. If you have seen the anime, the poem is addressed to Anthy at the very end of the series. I won't spoil the ending, but it's when she makes a big change in her own life. Whether or not you know the anime at all, Enjoy:)

What do you think you are doing here

Digging into the deep dark abyss of the past?

Sit for a while, and tell me your story

Give me a reason to believe your fantasies make sense.

We've all lost that which is dear to us

And worn the pain for everyone to see and learn from.

Revolution's a word of death that follows Death

You still have so much to live for and create.

Let your soul find peace, and come to terms with loss

Though buildings may fall, withstand their demise and time's wrath.

The abyss of the past has no taste for a young blossom

But if you must insist, it will one day open.

And then . . .

Your journey will begin.
