Unexpected pregnancy-Upstead edition.
Sometimes things just happen. Things that turn your whole life upside down. Things that make you have to reevaluate your life and your future. This is exactly what is happening for Hailey as she stares down at the positive pregnancy test in her hands.
Positive it reads, and the word could not be more clear. Sure she's thought of having a family at some point but with Jay undercover and no clue as to when he'll be home. She doesn't know how she's going to do this alone, let alone tell him. They haven't spoken since he told her he was going undercover, to bust a terrorist who was targeting the most elite politicians. They have been trying to get them for 2 months but they always come up dry and with dead ends. This is when the new chief told Jay that he had to go undercover to help stop the suspect and give them a lead.
But that was a month ago and they've never gone this long without seeing each other or talking to each other even when Hailey was in New York with the feds. They talked everyday and all day. But now she was alone with no idea how she was going to cope with the idea of having to do this pregnancy without him. She wanted him there. When they discussed the possibility of having a family, they both didn't hesitate to say yes. They wanted one with each other. From how bad their upbringing was, they both agreed they would be better than each of them combined.
"Hailey, you know I want a family with you, I want forever with you. But I don't know if I can do this if we are both dodging bullets. I would never ask you to put your life on hold for us or our family, and I know you would never ask me to do the same. I just don't think I can handle it if anything bad happened to you"
The words kept playing in her mind, like a broken record over and over and over. She knew she had to find a way to tell him without blowing her cover. She needed him to know. She wanted him to know. To be able to be apart of this.
She wanted them.
