AN: Thank you so much for your patience and for all this love for this story! It really was something I never expected to become the longest fic I have ever written. It's truly becoming a saga of its own. I hope you enjoy this next chapter and happy reading!

The stories these walls could tell if only they could talk. There were blaster marks and pieces missing from past scuffles that happened inside the cantina. Kat hoped that they wouldn't become another story. She knew she would have to make her spiel more into a business proposition. Oga was known to not be above a good business deal. So, the moment they walked through the doors, Kat started taking note of how many people were still around.

Vi grabbed them a table in the back corner near the bar. They all filed in, BB-8 moving to sit next to Poe's feet under the table, while Kat sat in the middle of Poe and Vi. They waved down a waitress and placed an order of drinks before they settled into their booth.

"So how exactly are we to meet Oga?" Kat asked.

Vi looked over and nodded when she saw the Blutopian serving up drinks. "I'll have to go speak with the bartender. How are you on your Huttese? Although you both were pretty good with your Ithorese."

"We had a pilot that was Ithorian," Poe explained. "I'm fairly decent though so if you need help with translating." He looked towards Kat, raising an eyebrow in her direction.

"I should be okay but thank you." She smiled. "Just don't ask me to speak it. That I'm a little rusty on."

"Then let me go see if I can't get her to invite us back," Vi said as she headed over to the bar.

Just as Vi left, the waitress returned with their drinks and Kat happily took a sip from her blue concoction.

"Good?" Poe asked, chuckling.

Kat nodded. "Wanna try?"

"Sure."

They switched drinks, taking a sip but it was all Poe could do not to spit the drink all over the table in laughter at watching Kat's face screw up in disgust. "I thought you could hold your liquor. Are you losing your touch?" He teased her.

"What the hell did you order?" She asked, pushing the glass back towards him.

"It's just a whiskey."

"Then they either gave you a cheap one or you just have bad taste in whiskey."

He rolled his eyes. "We can't all grow up on Corellian."

"Maybe so but that's exactly what you should have ordered." She laughed before taking a drink of her cocktail in the hopes to get the bad taste out of her mouth.

Poe chuckled, shaking his head as he picked his glass back up. He took a cautious sip, wondering what the fuss was really all about. Sure it was a bit more poignant than the smoothness that came with Corellian but it wasn't as horrible as Kat's dramatics made it out to be.

"It is not that…" He started before he noticed that Kat's attention wasn't even on him anymore. Her eyes were straightforward even if her head was slightly cocked to the side as if silently threatening whoever had stolen her focus. Turning to look for what caught her eye, he froze, hand moving down to rest near his blaster just in case.

Having a Trandoshan, one of the more volatile species in the galaxy, headed their way was not good. He glanced towards Kat's hips and all he could see were her trusty batons. Oh, how he hoped she had some firepower on her because he couldn't remember all she took when they left. Once the lizard-like alien got to the table, Poe slowly pulled his blaster out and held it towards the Trandoshan under the table.

Kat merely folded her hands in front of her and put on one of the fakest smiles he had ever seen from her. "Can I help you?" She asked in a faux cheery voice, acting as though she was completely harmless.

"You see, you two are the only new faces I see around here." The Trandoshan said with a low growl enveloping his every word. "And news is that Han Solo's hunk of junk has landed but there's been no sighting of Solo but then I remembered he had a daughter." His grin showed off all of his pointy teeth, the low rumble of his breathing even adding to the silent threat.

"Well, whatever it is you think you're gonna do won't work because Han is dead. He's been dead for nearly two years now. So whatever issue you have with him is dead too in my book. Besides his daughter is some drunk, blonde bimbo who thinks she's some kind of princess who can do whatever the hell she wants. I can promise you, I'm none of those things."

Poe watched as the two stared each other down with bated breath. He felt the table nudge towards them and he glanced towards Kat, who still seemed so calm and collected.

"Or you're exactly who I think you are and are trying to get out of paying up just like your father."

She nudged the table back to where it was originally sitting. "You have the wrong girl."

"So you're not the same Katerina Metonae that just walked out of Dok-Ondar's? He may not have made the connection but I have." He leaned across the table with a sneer.

Kat sighed. She had been doing so well. Now to figure out how to get out of this. "Well, shit. Let me get my wallet then." She scooted towards the end of the booth, acting as though she was preparing to hand over any credits. She knew she couldn't do anything with a table between them so closer to the Trandoshan she got.

"You know, I can think of several other ways you can repay me for Solo's debts." The Trandoshan said as he reached out with a claw to trail across Kat's cheek.

And there was her window of opportunity.

Kat grabbed his arm and twisted back to raise it behind him as she stood, slamming his head down on the table. At the same time, Poe stood, pointing his blaster directly in the Trandoshan's face. "You picked the wrong girl to mess with."

When all she heard was a grumble of laughter, Kat pulled his arm higher to put it even more in an unnatural angle until the laughter turned into a groan. "You are going to leave this table and forget about any debts you may or may not have. And you are most certainly not going to touch anyone unless they ask you to, got it?"

"Got it." He confirmed and Kat let him go with a shove to the side. Soon electricity covered his body as BB-8 shocked him, complete with angry beeps.

"Thank you, Bee," Kat said to get the droid to stop.

Poe had moved to stand in front of Kat when she pushed the lizard-like alien away. Once he walked away, he turned to face her, holstering his blaster. "May I?" He asked, his hand outstretched towards the cheek the Trandoshan caressed.

She nodded and soon Poe's warm, calloused hand cupped her jaw, his thumb caressing her cheek.

"You okay?" He asked.

She nodded again, leaning into his touch. "Not exactly how I wanted things to go while we waited. I just hope no one else tries anything during our stay here."

"Well the fact that you just pinned a Trandoshan with ease, I doubt anyone's going to try and mess with you again."

She gave a small shrug. "There are still idiots out there who'd try it. Just be careful when you're traveling with Chewie please?"

"I'll be sure to let him know so he can be on the lookout."

"Are you two done causing a scene? Oga's ready to see us and I'm not sure how pleased she'll be about all this." Vi said, coming up behind them.

"I'll try to smooth things over," Kat said, pulling away from Poe's touch to look towards Vi.

"Like you did at Dok-Ondar's? She heard about that by the way. You've definitely intrigued her and I can't tell if it's in a good way." She gave Kat a pointed look.

Kat just smiled. "I'll fix this. I mean I am Leia and Han's daughter after all."

Vi sighed as she started to lead them towards the back of the cantina. "Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of." She muttered as she walked.

Kat knew the moment she stepped into Oga's office why the citizens of Batuu were intimidated by her. The Blutopian stood a little taller than Kat with broad shoulders, large hands, and tentacles covering her mouth. A booming voice speaking Huttese greeted them. "So you're the Solo girl that's stirring up trouble."

"Well, I've only been creating the good kind of trouble lately." Kat finally said after biting back the urge to correct Oga about not being a Solo. "I'm sorry about that little scene earlier, though. I had to teach him some manners."

Oga began laughing which caused Kat and Poe to glance nervously at one another.

"Teach him manners. That's one way to get out of payments."

"You know I wasn't even born yet when he smuggled the first time and I certainly wasn't anywhere near home when he ran off the second time. I don't know what he's done or what he owes but he is dead. You won't have to worry about him any longer."

Poe stepped closer to her, taking her hand, and began smoothing out her fist that she had curled her fingers into. Once her fingers were flat against his palm, he intertwined their fingers and gave a small squeeze. She let out a small huff and turned her head to face him. She knew she was getting impatient and that certainly wouldn't help their case. She gave a small nod and Poe just smiled before facing Oga.

"Oga, we're just two Generals from the Resistance who are trying to rebuild the Republic into something greater that can work for all people. While Kat may be Han's daughter, she's nothing like him when it comes to business transactions."

"Tell that to Dok-Ondar," Oga said, cutting Poe off.

"I was merely talking his language. I make good on my promises." Kat said.

"She even has a great idea on how to help you do more business if you'd just hear her out," Poe said. "I think everyone would be happy with the outcome."

"And how do I know that I can trust you?" Oga asked.

"Because before I was taken into the Solo family, I was a Metonae. My last name still is that matter of fact. My parents were good people who helped people in any way they could and that's what I've always tried to do. I know that probably means bantha shit to you but I'm not going to pull a fast one over on you. I promise that if you team up with me, you won't regret it."

"Fine, tell me about this plan of yours." Oga agreed.

Kat squeezed Poe's hand before letting go as she launched into her plan for Batuu. She explained every detail from the reason behind this current trip and what things could look like after they left. She made sure to emphasize how good it would be for the cantina business and made hints about certain criminal dealings that would potentially benefit even if she didn't condone that side of things. "Now you don't have to give me an answer today, but I'll be back around to see where you stand. But there's plenty to think about." Kat finished.

Oga nodded before finally dismissing the group. Once they were back in the cantina, they all let out a collective sigh. "You two are something else, you know that?" Vi said, shaking her head as they made their way back outside.

"Sorry to give you such a scare but I hope we didn't scare you off," Kat said, a small smirk tugging at her lips.

Vi groaned and turned to Poe. "That's her I have an idea face, isn't it?"

Poe chuckled as he nodded. "Sure is."

"I'd like you to run things here after we leave. If you don't want to, I'd understand but I would like your opinion on who you think could."

Vi sighed in relief. "I thought it was going to be something worse than that. I've grown to like it here so yeah, I'll take the job."

Kat grinned. "Perfect."

"Oh good, you guys are back," Finn said as the couple walked into the main lounge. He, Jannah, and Rose were all sitting around Artoo. Finn had a datapad in his hand and they all looked like they had been in deep discussion.

"What's going on?" Poe asked.

"We've been going through the data we've been able to pull from each of the bases and we're putting together some of the next steps for those who defected," Finn answered.

Kat soon joined the circle, looking eager, pulling Poe down to join her. "I've actually been wanting to speak with you and Jannah about that. What are your ideas? How are things going?"

"Things are going very well. They've been helpful in shutting down the bases and some have even joined in our efforts instead of going back to Ajan Kloss." Jannah said.

"That's great. You still have enough room?" Kat asked Poe.

He nodded. "Yeah, we have a couple of transports that follow us that they've been staying on."

"Everyone's being taken care of Kat," Finn smirked causing Kat to chuckle.

"I'm just making sure. Now tell me about these next steps of yours."

Between Finn and Jannah, they explained how they wanted to run their rehabilitation course for those who had defected. The conversations they had were going great and at times they were even able to weed out those who were lying about wanting to defect right away. Once they were settled into the new capital, they would start classes that would expose any that they might have missed. They would get reintroduced to how to be in society, work on getting rid of any leftover trooper training, pick names, and then be allowed back out into the galaxy, maybe even be allowed to work within the new system they were creating if that was something they would be interested in. They also would work on reuniting families. They hadn't found that data yet, but they knew it had to be somewhere. Right now, they were just going through and making a list of those still alive.

"Yes," Kat said once they were done. "You two are doing great. Not that I had any doubt, of course. I'm just excited to see things starting to come together. I don't know how much Rose has told you about some of the ideas we have for the senate or what you've heard from the recordings BeeBee has sent but I'd love to talk to you about those ideas now if you don't mind."

Finn turned to Rose with a raised eyebrow. "You been holding out on me?" He teased her.

Rose rolled her eyes and nudged him. "No. It just hasn't come up yet."

"What are you planning?" Jannah asked.

Kat motioned for Rose to start which made her friend roll her eyes once more.

"The Senate will be compromised of each planet that will be joining the Galactic Union, which is what we're calling it, by the way. No more Republic. You can only call it new so many times." Rose laughed. "So within the Senate will be two committees; an Economic and Social Committee and then a Rebuilding Committee. She wants you two to run the Rebuilding Committee."

"What are these committees?" Finn asked.

"The Economic and Social Committee won't come into play until everything is established. Rose will be the chair of this committee. It'll essentially make sure that the Galactic Union will run smoothly and everyone is truly working together. The Rebuilding Committee will be over what we're doing now but its focus will be all of it. So the rehabilitation of stormtroopers, helping those who need help regaining their true independence. After all, we're only going to those who the First Order had a significant rule over. Other planets may still need our help. I'd like for you and Jannah to lead this but more so Jannah because I have a special ask of you." Kat said looking at Finn.

"Now you've got me worried." Finn chuckled.

"I'd like you to be the leader of the senate," Kat said.

"Wait, what?" Finn asked at the same time Poe spoke up.

"What about you?"

"I'll have a different role but yes, Finn. I want you to lead the senate. I won't be throwing you to the Sarlacc, so don't worry. I'll help you with any questions you might have. The senate is basically just a large meeting where you talk policy, law, and make decisions for the betterment of the Galactic Union. The only difference from what you're doing now is the size and there's no military strategy. Not to mention most of what will be discussed will be brought to you from the two committees unless a planet comes to you with something that's going on. You have a calming presence. You've helped create this rehabilitation program from scratch and you have a good head on your shoulders."

"What other role would you have?" Finn asked, still trying to wrap his head around her request.

"We haven't landed on a title yet but I'm going to be overseeing everything. I'll be the one that'll sign things into place. Giving the final say on any military operations. Then overseeing all day-to-day operations. Each planet that joins will have an embassy where they'll make sure things are being followed and offer any help before they come all the way to the Galactic Capital."

"So you'll still be around to sit in on the senate meetings? Be around for general advice?"

Kat nodded with a reassuring smile. "Yes. I can't do everything by myself, so you'll just be helping me lead things. It'll be like how we're doing things now except we'll just have different titles."

"What will Poe be leading then?" Jannah asked.

"I'm the one that won't be changing my title. I'll be running the military, helping to keep the peace." Poe answered.

Turning to face him, Kat placed a hand on his chest. "I have some thoughts about that, that I want to talk over with you at some point."

Poe chuckled. "Why am I not surprised." He teased her.

"Oh shut it." She rolled her eyes and gave him a little shove.

He caught her arm before she pulled it away fully and tugged her towards him, moving so she now sat in between his legs, and his arms were wrapped around her. "Thank you, Kat." He pressed a kiss behind her ear. "I appreciate you starting things off for me." Another kiss before looking out to their friends when she didn't respond. "She's got her angry pout on doesn't she?"

"Sure does," Rose said with a laugh.

"Whose side are you on?" Kat asked, faking offense.

"Yours obviously."

"So how'd the tour go?" Finn asked to change the subject.

"We may have caused some trouble," Kat said.

"And by we she means her but despite that, I think things will be fine," Poe added.

"Hey, that Trandoshan came up to us." She defended before looking around the room. "Speaking of which I should probably go find Chewie." She patted Poe's arms and he let her go, holding out his hands to help her stand up.

"Why do you have to find Chewie?" Rose asked.

"Because people realized who I was, and they're still upset about Han owing them some credits," Kat said as she stood. "Poe can catch you up to speed." She smiled down at him gratefully before heading off in search of her uncle.

"People realized who she was?" Jannah asked.

"She was a bit of a socialite before joining the Resistance. So, her name was all over the holonet for a time and if they recognized her name from before then they'd know for certain who her parents were." Rose explained.

"And we shouldn't be more worried about this?"

Poe shook his head. "No. She can take care of herself and if you need proof of that she pinned a Trandoshan and they're some of the roughest beings in the galaxy."

Rose looked at Poe with wide eyes. "She did what?"

He chuckled, looking every bit the proud boyfriend. "You heard me. You guys should be safe throughout the rest of your stay. Once word gets out about that, no one should mess with you, and word typically travels fast among criminals."

"There you are," Kat said with a small smile as she walked up the ramp into the Falcon to where Chewbacca was working on something. "Did Poe destroy the ship again?"

Chewbacca let out a growl, causing Kat to laugh.

"Okay, good. Ya need some help then? What are you working on?"

He handed her a spanner and explained the maintenance work he was doing. Soon, Kat stood next to him as they worked in silence for a bit. "So, I ran into some trouble while I was out touring the outpost. People connected me to dad."

He groaned in reply, asking if she was okay.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Nothing I couldn't handle. Apparently, he owed some credits. I just wanted you to be careful when you go out tomorrow."

He growled once more causing her to laugh.

"Yeah, they typically seem after him more than you but still. I wanted to let you know."

He wrapped an arm around her, pulling her in for a side hug.

"Of course, you big lug."

He let out a series of groans and Kat pulled away, looking up at him with a mixture of emotions all over her face. When she didn't say anything, he growled again.

"No, I'm happy for you, really. Your family must be missing you terribly. I'm just going to miss you too." She gave him a sad smile. "You better visit."

She laughed as she was pulled in for a hug as he told her that he was thinking about being Kashyyk's senator. "I think that would be a great idea."

He growled again, still holding onto her. "Yes, I'll be sure to visit too. I gotta meet the other members of my Wookie family after all."

He gave her a big squeeze before letting her go. She wiped away the few pesky tears that decided to show up before smiling up at him. "Let's see what else the old girl needs, shall we?"

Chewbacca nodded his head and they were soon walking through the halls, toolbox in hand before deciding they could play a round of Dejarik.
