Two Sides of the Coin
Epilogue
"He knows," Liz said, shocked. "How. I thought for sure we had him convinced. "We're never going to be safe as long as he knows."
"We're safe," Zan said, taking her in his arms. "He saw me, but he saw Max, too. I guess you're right. When Max died, he became part of me. Rath saw that, and he's good with it."
"I don't think Max became a part of you, or you became a part of Max," said Liz. "You're the same person. Two sides of the same coin. Circumstances made you different."
"Not circumstances, Liz. It was love. Max always had it, but I never did. Not until now."
"But now you have it forever," Liz said.
It didn't take them long to make their plans. They packed up and decided to meet back up with the others. Liz knew that she couldn't run from her problems, but with Zan at her side, she knew she'd be able to meet them all head on.
Explaining Zan to the others was going to be difficult, but she knew that they'd open their hearts to him, just as she had. Zan knew it too. It was something Max had told him time and time again, but now he knew, love could open any door.
Together they walked out of the hotel and into a day filled with sunshine and endless possibilities.
