"One more stitch, aaaand there. All done," the ghostly dresser said, back away. "What do you think?"

Walking up to the triple mirror, Phantasma gasped when she saw herself. The dress was a simple article of a pale blue hue with white streaks. The rim was torn with frills made similarly, giving a ghoulish vibe. The banshee twirled around, admiring how beautiful she was.

"Danny's gonna drop even more dead when he see me," Phanty cooed, posing in the dress. She was as beautiful as the blooming of the corpse flower in the monster world. And though she hadn't had a chance to see that, the banshee knew it to be true as she cackled in glee.

"I'm glad you like it." Lady Christine came behind her daughter. She turned the little banshee towards her, inspecting the girl's face. Tears of joy welled up as she smiled.

"I can remember when you were just a little scare. Now look at you, growing up and attending your first dance in the human world." The mother took out a handkerchief to wipe her tears. "I'm so happy."

"Mother," Phantasma spoke softly as she hugged.

The banshee had never been so happy. Her first high school dance, and she was going with the ghost boy of her dreams. Soft cackles escaped from her mouth while she squeezed her mother. The ghoul had been preparing for this moment since Danny told her about the event weeks ago.

Granted, her father heard of the event, but her mother quickly took care of things. Oddly enough, Lady Christine had regularly talked to The Phantom but never said why. They wouldn't be dating again. The banshee knew that.

But it concerning for the ghoul. She and her father were always close, even after he found out about her and Danny. The Phantom was an overprotective father, which was extreme, but he always took the time to talk to Phanty and ask about the other things in her afterlife, like school and music, and would repaint with his own bits of his day. Nowadays, the father barely says a word.

For the moment, Phantasma pushed those thoughts aside. She'd have more time to talk with her father after the dance. Right now, it'd be her and her haunting hunk.

"I just can't wait to tear up the dance floor with my haunting hunk," Phanty squeed.

"You do remember how to dance like a human, right?" Lady Christine asked. "Cause remember, humans don't fly or float, so no swinging on the roof."

Phantasma gave a dead stare, blinking a few times in disbelief. Apparently, she wasn't entirely prepared, with a few more precautions needed before the big day. She just hoped things were good on Danny's end.

The hallways of Casper High were filled with spirit as students everywhere chatted amongst themselves to see who to take for the end-of-the-year dance. It was an informal event, just created to give the student body a little joy from all the ghostly activity.

Every football team member was walking up to the cheerleaders, going with the traditional, in a sense, pairings. Not that any of them complained, Well, except one.

"I told you! For the hundredth time, this is who I am now!" Paulina screamed. She grinded her teeth, staring up at Dash.

"You seriously think I want to go to the dance with some goth?!" Dash asked incredulity. He was an arm's length away, keeping the collar of his letterman jacket up in embarrassment.

It almost seemed he was ashamed to talk to Paulina.

"Then why are you asking me out to the dance!?"

"Cause the quarterback is supposed to take the head cheerleader!"

The argument went on, annoying anyone who walked by. As that went on in the background, Sam listened, chuckling darkly at the dismantling of traditional cliches in school. It was one of the few times she could have some joy but dropped it as she looked at Danny, who walked by with a wave.

The hippie girl waved back but frowned as she slumped against the locker, slowly sliding down to the ground.

"Sam? You alright?" Tucker asked.

Sam gave a frown as she took a deep breath. After a moment, she smiled with a tinge of pain on her face, but she stood up and looked the boy square in the eye. "I'm still just adjusting to the fact about accepting Phanty and letting my feelings go."

"But it's been weeks!"

"And I've had these feelings for years. And I admit, I'm happy for Danny, but still..."

"I hear ya. Not to mention the fact you still need to work out a lot of issues," Foamy said from within her locker. "And I mean a lot. You know, considering your grandma and friends are the only positive influences in your life, that may explain things."

"Gah!" Sam screamed as she slammed the locker door shut. Staring at the metal confines in disbelief and fear. "What are you doing here?" she whispered angrily.

"That's not gonna work." Foamy appeared on the girl's shoulder, making her jump in fear.

"I swear, seeing the whole school attack me is nothing compared to you." The former goth pointed at the surly grey squirrel. "Even if it was a dream!"

"Well, you still have a lot of things to make up for. Besides your jealousy issues, you still have a bossy personality that forces your beliefs onto others, like when you changed the menu to...whatever the #!*% that vegan crap was. Seriously!? Who eats dirt, like literal dirt?!"

Usually, this would be the part where Sam would snap back, but Foamy scared her tremendously. Plus, she knew it was better to listen, mainly because it meant he'd leave her alone faster, and the surly squirrel had a point at times.

"So, what, you're gonna be with Sam the rest of her life?" Tucker asked.

"No, just until she's fixed her attitude on life and dealt with her emotional baggage. People don't change overnight, and that's fine." Foamy pointed to Sam's face. His finger could have gone up her nose from his position, much to her disgust. "Sam here has all the time in the world. Plus, she may have faults, but that doesn't make her a bad person. She still cares for you and Danny and helps out when she cans. Not to mention she has changed in accepting Phantasma."

The two teens blinked as they processed all that information. The hippie girl smiled, now aware that she wouldn't have to deal with the surly squirrel forever. Though part of her enjoyed his company because he scared her parents to no end.

"You know...I think it be might safe to say that things are going to be alright," Tucker said with a smile. The boy closed his locker as he got all his necessary books. "I mean, you're now accepting Phanty, Danny's happy, and ghost attacks have been less frequent. We might actually have fun at this dance."

"If Velma can actually show up." Sam smirked with her snarky tone as she leaned back.

"Hey!"

"Sorry, dude, but you better make sure your mystery solving girlfriend hasn't heard of any haunted amusement parks or cursed towns. Who knows what could happen in a world of superheroes and monsters," Foamy added.

Tucker sulked for a moment before running off to call Velma. As he left, Valerie ran through the halls as a chubby nerd named Nathan ran after her with a picture of her and flowers.

"Valeria, wait! Why won't you go to the dance with me?" Nathan cried out. He ran past the halls, not noticing how Valerie hid in the janitor's closet.

She walked out and stopped near Sam and Foamy when the coast was clear.

"Is Nathan still trying to ask you to the dance?"Sam and the rest of the school knew of the nerd's crush and intent to be the girl's date to senior prom but were still incredulous to see the boy chasing after her.

Valerie sighed and nodded as she got up and stretched a bit. She looked over to see Sam still in retro wear, and Paulina was trying to be the terror of the night and laughed at the irony.

"Apparently he still believes we're soulmates...or whatever it was he referenced at first." Valerie shook her head with a frown.

"Well, he is a socially awkward nerd, who's probably never talked to a girl in his life. So it's expected he has no idea about what he's doing. Maybe if you sit him down and explain how his behavior is wrong, he might stop." Foamy gestured with his hands as he spoke, commanding Valerie's attention, though for more than his advice. When he was done, the girl just stared at him, blinking after a moment of silence.

"Ok, what's with the talking squirrel?" Valerie pointed at Foamy, taking a few steps back in precaution. Ghosts were one thing, but everything else was a different matter.

"It's...complicated. I'll explain another time." Sam and Valerie glanced at the school bell, which rang for the next period. "I'll catch you later." She waved and left.

Valerie waved back as her friend, Star, came up beside her.

"She still jealous?" Star asked. Watching with knowing eyes.

"I don't think so, but I've been mainly watching out for Nathan the past few weeks." Valerie shuddered at the seemingly endless invitations given til now.

"You need help?"

"Maybe. To be honest, I just got some advice that sounds crazy enough to work. But if it doesn't, I swear I'm gonna have to get a restraining order for him," Valerie said, sounding severe this time around.

"Just say the word and I'll call my Dad to get all the work done for you. I'll even convince him not to charge you either since you're, and I quote, 'such a good influence on me'," Star snarked, bringing up her phone. She smiled as Valerie laughed, waving her hand.

"Thanks, but if it does get that bad, I may need a lawyer for putting him in the hospital."

The girls giggled as they walked to class, leaving a still arguing Dash and Paulina alone. The halls were filled with their bickering until Tucker ran by, shouting in joy as he caught up with Sam.

"Woo! Velma is making sure to stay out of any mysteries! So yours truly has a date this coming dance!" Tucker squealed as he held his arms in victory. Today was a major accomplishment. Sam almost wished Danny was here to see this.

Hearing his accomplishment, Dash and Paulina glanced at the geek, with the former commenting on his status in an attempt to convince the latter for his date to the dance. That argument was not going to be soundly ended as the school days counted down to the dance.

The dance was a hit as everyone danced along with the beat of the music. Sam greeted Tucker, dressed in a black suit, as she came over in a vintage, light blue, black polka dot swing dress. The girl had come stag, preferring to enjoy herself than bother with a date. The boy was with Velma, who had a simple orange dress that complemented the orange floral decoration in her hair.

"Hey, Tucker," Sam greeted.

"Sam, hey. Wow! Where'd you find the dress?" Tucker replied as Velma inspected the outfit.

"You look like you came from the 50's...let me guess, family dress?" Velma said after circling the girl.

"One of Grandma's old outfits," Sam said with a blush. "I know it's not something I'd usually wear, but I felt like trying something new after doing this whole hippie thing."

"Well if anything, I believe this new style of yours suits you quite well—" before Velma could continue any further, something ghastly caught her attention. "—What or who is that?" She asked with a bit of shock on her face.

The two teens turned to see in the direction of what had caused one of the members of Mystery Incorporated to be so bewildered. Until they saw who it was and looked a little baffled themselves at the sight of it. This could probably get on their top ten of the weirdest things they ever saw out of everything the kids had seen.

"Wow, and here I thought no one could outgoth me," Sam snarked with a chuckling tone.

Paulina was walking around like a corpse bride, much to everyone's surprise. The girl could be mistaken for a ghoul with a black corset dress that reached her ankles with white web rimming and pale makeup.

This surprised everyone at the dance with various reactions. Some were a little scared to go near Paulina, while others were shocked that she even came to the dance dressed like that. A few silently laughed at her with their phones out. Although one girl, in particular, was curious about Paulina's look.

Phantasma tilted her head to the side, staring at the ghoulish girl with intrigue.

"Hey, who's the ghoul?" Phanty asked, pointing at Paulina. "I don't think I ever saw her at the Chainsgiving games."

"The what now?" Velma asked. She cleaned her ears to double-check what she heard, but Tucker put a hand on her shoulder, indicating she needn't worry.

Danny laughed as Phantasma dragged him to the dance floor. "As much fun as it is to dance, I need a partner," the banshee cackled.

At first, Danny was unsure how to dance since they mainly went out in ghost form. Dancing as a ghost was one thing, but dancing as a human was different since no floating was involved. The ghost boy tried to get into the swing of things by waving his arms while kicking but found that embarrassing.

Phantasma cackled as she leaned forward, nuzzling her head into Danny's chest.

"I guess we need to work on your dance moves," Phanty said, wrapping the boy's arms around her before doing the same to him. "Come here."

Danny complied, leaning his head on the banshee's hair. While this wasn't a slow song, he was happy being with her. After a few numbers, the boy parted, needing to cachet his breath.

Phanty gave a longing look but conceded. They had all the time right now. She went back to being content, dancing up a storm independently.

Danny went to the refreshments, pouring himself some punch. It was too sweet, but it was nice as he watched everyone have fun. Sam, Tucker, and Velma soon joined him, watching everything.

"She sure can dance," Velma commented. "It's almost like she isn't human."

Tucker and Sam giggled as the ghost boy shook his head. Perhaps one of these days, they'd tell Velma everything. But for now, it was time to party without a care in the world.

Or so it was supposed to be.

Danny felt a chill go up his spine as a blue wisp escaped his mouth as the lights flickered. The ghost boy groaned, wishing he could have a day off. One glance at Phanty, dancing as if the world were ending, made him smile as he glanced at his friends, pointing with his head towards the school. The message was sent, received, and understood as the boy went to prevent anything from interrupting the party.

Going to the restroom, Danny Fenton found solitude as he transformed into Danny Phantom, phasing through the walls, ready to take his frustration out on the potential party crasher.

He was looking forward to this dance, more so because of Phantasma. He was not going to let some punk ruin things.

Danny looked around the corner for the ghost. The school was creepy, with the lights off in empty solitude. It sent chills down his spine, reminding him of the nightmare he and Sam were stuck in.

Conjuring a ball of ecto-energy, the boy lit up part of the route as he floated forward, ready to take on whatever set off his ghost sense.

"Ok ghost," Danny sighed, talking to no one. "If wanted to ruin what was a perfect night, then congratulations; you just made it happen getting me to work. But think of this. When I find you, I'm gonna put in special effort hurrying you for doing that. So I'll tell you what. You appear and then leave, and I won't redefine pain for you. How does that sound?"

The sound of silence greeted the ghost boy as he kept moving forward with anger rising.

"Alright. We do this the painful way."

But the painful way never came as soon the ghost boy was accosted by three small spirits, grabbing hold of his face. The boy struggled, feeling his strength wane and his body ache in exhaustion. He felt more and more tired by the moment and soon fell asleep, transforming back into Fenton.

The three spirits smiled wickedly as the leader pulled out an intercom from his fez.

"The kids out like a light," he said in a raspy voice.

"Good. Now it's time for you three to leave. Things are about to getting messy." A voice said on the other end.

Phantasma was having the time of her afterlife partying. Although she wasn't yet a high schooler, the banshee had more spirit than anyone, dancing continuously for minutes. Some boys had come to dance with her, impressed by her energy, but quickly found themselves exhausted as they left after a few songs.

"What's the matter? Can't keep up?" Phantasma cackled. She spun around like a twister, navigating the crowd gracefully despite the chaotic moves.

The banshee stopped at the punch bowl, where Tucker, Sam, and Velma were. The trio was awestruck as the ghoul grabbed a drink, hardly breaking a sweat.

"Wow, Phanty, you're really cutting loose!" Velma was impressed, evident by her tone. She eyes the tired students, some of whom were athletes, that tried to keep up. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you weren't human."

Phantasma cackled loudly, reeling back from the irony. As the banshee stopped, she gave knowing eyebrows to Sam and Tucker, who didn't know how to approach the subject of the ghoul's true nature.

"Phanty's just special like that," Tucker slowly answered, as if trying to at least prepare the truth for his girlfriend. "I'll explain it to you later. Right now, let's have some fun!"

"Lead the way, Tuck!" Velma yelled as the boy brought his girlfriend to the dance floor. The nerdy couple solely got into a groove as the boy awkwardly danced to the beat. Despite their relationship, the two hadn't had a chance to dance like this. The experience was rather refreshing for Tucker.

Sam shook her head in mirth and watched, waiting by the punch bowl as she killed time. She looked to the students who brought dates. From the popular to the not-so-popular, the hippie girl frowned as she watched the happy couples smile at each other and wondered if she'd find someone like that.

She locked eyes with Phantasma, who beckoned her over as she stared. The banshee saw her look and drew a finger to say, "come here." But Sma seemed content where she was, inviting the ghoul to walk over to her.

"Come on, Sam. Dance!" Phanty cackled as she swayed her body to the beat.

"Uh, no thanks. I'm not much of a dancer," Sam replied, smiling.

"You could say the same about Danny and Tucker, but they're on the dance floor."

The girl paused in response to being unable to say anything. She looked to Tucker, who smiled with wild joy. He never looked happier. Sam wondered to herself about the events of the past years, pondering on all the changes that have happened. She looked at Phantasma, who had her hand out. The ghoul smiled, gesturing for the girl to join her and her friends.

"Oh alright." Sam smiled. "I'm guess it's time for me to embrace more new things anyway."

"Bat's the spirit!"

The two ran to the floor as the songs changed. It was more of a techno beat, something Sam would never listen to, but she was here for a new experience. Listening closely, the girl tapped her foot, gaining a rhythm before breaking into her style. It wasn't flashy or wild, but it worked for her.

Phanty cackled loudly as she resumed her energetic dance, never stopping to rest. The ghoul was having the time of her afterlife. She didn't want this to end so soon.

But life was never what one wanted, and one of the walls exploded, breaking through the music as a stray blast hit the DJ. The room went silent as another beam hit the dance floor, scattering the students as they ran in fear.

Phantasma turned to see the blast and was shocked to see the ghost who was now crashing the party, turning over tables and blasting the DJ booth. This specter wailed as he made the students run out in a frenzied fashion.

"Father!? What are you doing!?" Phantasma cried out.

And I'm back with another update. And this one's important as some issues are brought to light. As for why The Phantom is attacking, you'll have to wait for now. Thank you for your patience.

Special Thanks! to Jay The Average Fanboy for all his help!

LockAndKey989: Thanks!

RonaldM40196867: Ghosts are obsessive. Though if you are referring to the slang Pointdexter said, it's actually 50's slang. Given the fact it took me more than thirty chapters for the first year, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I wrote a hundred chapters for this fic. While I don't see much problem with it, I doubt that everyone would like that, so I will try my best to maintain a good amount of chapters. Pointdexter will return. Dream medallions are items that allow you control when you're asleep. Think of it like the time medallions of Clockwork, only for dreams.

Jebest4781: Thanks!

Jay The Average Fanboy: In order: The Phantom is a regular phantom, probably, probably, Danny and Phanty enjoyed the place with more details coming later, You'll find out in later chapter, that honestly depends on the story, no, most likely, and I'm gonna say yes for now.
