Chapter 53: Day 46
For perhaps the tenth time in the past 15 minutes, Togami took stock of his dorm room, making sure everything was perfectly set and prepared. "Pillows are set up so that we can relax on the bed," he observed, ticking items off his mental list as he continued thinking, "Portable DVD player is charged and ready to go. Audio is passable. Five DVDs, all different genres, for whatever he wants to watch. Enough snacks for Hina to wonder if someone else stole into the pantry. Napkins and paper plates so there are no crumbs in the bed. And…" He blushed slightly as his gaze landed on the nightstand, where he knew the condoms were being stored in the drawer. "That should be everything."
He inhaled, then slowly exhaled. He wondered how setting up such an evening was more nerve wracking than anything he had to do for the Togami Corporation. "With all my battles and competitions, I don't remember ever feeling like this," he reflected as he casually took his seat at the table. "I wonder if I was like this when Makoto first… When we started dating. Which one of us initiated things? Which one of us spoke up first? Did it just casually happen?"
His thoughts wandered back to the locker, where he knew more of his belongings were. Naegi still hadn't really comprehended what Togami went through in those few moments, and the corporate heir still hadn't read the letter from Aloysius. But those were problems for another day. He told himself today was for Naegi. Those problems could wait. All day, he brushed those concerns aside, focusing instead on this moment.
This moment…which was to happen any second now…
Hearing a knock on the door, Togami shakily inhaled. Naegi had gone to make their cups of coffee, giving Togami the time he needed to prepare. And so he stood, opened the door, and stepped to the side.
"Sorry it took a bit!" Naegi exclaimed in his typical, cheerful voice. "I just–" Watching Naegi come to a halt, Togami shut the door and strolled up to Naegi's side. The brunette looked at the bed before turning to glance up at him with wide eyes. When he saw Togami's expression, he blinked and looked back to the bed. "What is…?"
Togami cleared his throat. "You've done more than perhaps any of us here have since we've awoken," Togami began, doing his best to steady his voice and his nerves. "And you've… Well, you have…" He huffed, mentally slapping himself before crossing his arms over his chest, forcing himself to look directly at Naegi as he spoke. "You've been instrumental to my being able to focus and work here. I couldn't have made the blueprints without your leadership on the leadership team, and I certainly wouldn't have been able to function without your cups of coffee. The breaks you've forced me to take helped keep me grounded, and when things happened in the archive, I know you looked out for me more than any of the others." He could feel his cheeks warming as Naegi's face brightened with each word he said, but something told him he had to get these words out.
He took one of the cups of coffee, took a sip, and nodded down at Naegi, who was now looking back at him. Togami took in his cheerful expression and bright hazel eyes. His whole reason for doing this. "Thank you, Makoto." It was practically a whisper. "I thought you…deserved a break. And I wanted to surprise you. So I-I thought–"
Fortunately, Naegi took pity on him. Cutting his words off with a kiss, Naegi smiled widely up at him. "Thank you," he whispered back.
Togami smiled and returned the kiss. "You're welcome, Makoto."
"So what all is here?" Naegi asked, his voice full of excitement as he approached the bed. Togami watched his boyfriend slip out of his shoes and decided to do the same, setting them neatly to the side of the door.
"Movies, snacks, and pillows," Togami listed off, blushing further when he realized how pathetic of a list it was, especially coming from the heir of the Togami Corporation. "If we were out in the real world, I would have spared no expenses, but being here is somewhat…limiting."
"This is perfect." The words caused the anxiety in Togami's chest to unravel itself, and a smile instinctively crossed his lips as Naegi set the cup of coffee down on the nightstand and crawled to the middle of the bed. Patting the blanket next to him, Naegi waited for Togami to take his own seat, setting his cup of coffee next to Naegi's to avoid spilling it. He then cuddled into Togami's side and grabbed the nearby stack of DVDs. "Which do you want to watch?"
Togami shrugged. "I don't know any of them," he admitted. "Pick one out."
"How 'bout this one?" Selecting what appeared to be a science fiction movie, Naegi peeked up at Togami, who shrugged and nodded. Naegi smiled, gave him another quick kiss, then sat up to begin setting up the DVD player. As he did, Togami put together their plates of snacks, a mixture of popcorn, cookies, and dorayaki. Soon the DVD player was humming with energy, with the small attached screen showing the main menu.
After selecting "Play," Naegi quickly settled back into the bed. Togami handed him his food and coffee, and the two sat next to each other as the music from the film began to play.
Togami tried to be polite, but the movie was awful.
Terrible.
Just downright abysmal.
He thought he had been doing a good job of hiding his emotions, but halfway through, Naegi caught wind of his disapproval. He had asked what was wrong.
And Togami could not be tactful.
Naegi chuckled, then laughed, then practically rolled off the bed howling and holding his sides as Togami described in minute detail everything wrong with the film. Why were the actors so robotic? Why was the plot so convoluted for no reason? Didn't they know they were landing on a foreign planet with foreign entities? And just what was this sound design?!
By the end of the film, he was so disgusted with it that he proclaimed he was certain Taka could manage something better under the guise of an effort project, a statement that sent Naegi over the edge. Togami could only watch in mild amusement and moderate annoyance as Naegi seemed to be taking pleasure in his discomfort. The brunette was practically crying, laughing hysterically at Togami's criticisms. Finally having enough of it, Togami crossed his arms over his chest and asked, "What?"
"Y-You!" Naegi tried to catch his breath between laughs.
"What about me?"
"J-Just… Y-You…"
"I don't see what's so funny about this. This movie was terrible. I wouldn't have picked it out if I knew it was this kind of garbage."
"I'm super happy you did!" Naegi exclaimed.
"Why? It was awful."
"Yeah, but…but hearing you just go absolutely off about it…" Collecting himself, Naegi smiled and said, "We have to watch another movie."
"Maybe another time," Togami remarked, not sure what the hell Naegi was trying to say. Collecting their now empty plates, he threw them into the nearby trash bin and set their empty mugs of coffee on the nightstand.
Naegi wiped the tears from his eyes and nodded. "All right. But we definitely need to do that again."
"Whatever. You're being weird about this."
"I just haven't seen you be that critical of something in awhile," Naegi remarked as Togami turned off the DVD player and set the technology on the table.
"And you thought that was amusing?"
"Very."
"Hmph." Togami scoffed, then turned and smirked. "Perhaps that's one way we're compatible. You're the optimist to my pessimist."
"I don't think you're pessimistic," Naegi corrected. "You just have such high standards, while I'm kinda along for the ride."
"You and your clothing that is still piled on the floor," Togami remarked. Striding back over to the bed, he saw Naegi blush and eyed his boyfriend. He was lying near the center of the bed, his upper body positioned on the pillows. Before he could stop himself, the corporate heir climbed onto the bed and crawled on top of him before planting a light kiss on his lips.
"Yeah, but you still like me," Naegi teased, smiling widely up at Togami.
"I blame your Ultimate Luck," Togami retorted. He kissed his lips again, then again, then his chin. It was when he reached Naegi's neck that the brunette finally started relaxing against the pillows, letting his body slide further down onto the bed.
"Hey, I'll take it," Naegi replied. His hands slithered up Togami's arms and neck, and soon Togami felt his fingers in his hair. Togami slowly trailed kisses back up to Naegi's lips, and when he reached them, he felt Naegi's lips immediately part. His body shivered as their tongues met in a slow dance, what was becoming a familiar dance for the two. Togami reached up to caress Naegi's cheek with one hand, while the other slid slowly underneath his shirt, feeling the warm skin underneath. Feeling Naegi undulate under him forced him to break the kiss.
After all, their night together was far from over.
"I have a question for you, Makoto…"
Naegi quirked an eyebrow. "Yeah?"
He smirked and kissed his cheek. "That dream of yours… The one you said you had of us…"
He could hear Naegi's breath quicken at the reference. "Y-Yeah…?"
"What did you see us doing?"
Naegi swallowed loud enough for Togami to hear. He quickly looked up, making sure he wasn't making his boyfriend uncomfortable. Instead, he saw Naegi looking directly at him, an embarrassed smile across his lips. "I-I… We…"
"You don't have to say it if you don't want to," Togami quickly added, placing a quick kiss on his cheek to calm him.
"N-No, it's just… It was…"
"Embarrassing?"
"Freakin' amazing." Naegi chuckled as Togami felt his eyebrow rise.
"Oh? Want to share?"
"You…" Togami kissed his cheek, then chin, then neck, watching as Naegi sunk further into the bed. His eyelids closed shut, and he whispered, "You kissed me…worked me up like…kinda like this."
"That's it?"
Naegi shook his head. As he did, Togami decided that he had had enough of the layers of clothing separating them. He quickly sat up and began sliding his jacket off, listening as Naegi continued, "You… We got naked. Like, real quickly. I-I don't know why, we just… We just needed each other, I guess."
Togami tossed his jacket to the side. He then casually took his glasses off and set them on the nearby nightstand next to the coffee mugs before leaning back down. He placed his hands on Naegi's hips and slowly slid them up, pushing the shirt up and revealing his smooth, pale skin. As he did, he planted firmer kisses along Naegi's neck. Naegi swallowed again before whispering, "You… You went down on me. Kissed me…sucked me… Gods, it was so good."
Feeling himself blush profusely, Togami stopped for a brief second and looked up at Naegi, who was now looking down at him. Naegi chuckled, clearly still embarrassed, before saying, "Then you flipped us over. Wanted me on top, I think. But I wanted to show you how happy I was, how good that was, so I… I told you I wanted you inside me. While I was on top. I remember looking down at you, watching you just… I don't know. You were so happy and so relaxed, and I wanted that for you. And it was so amazing. I didn't want it to end. And you didn't either, so we took it slowly, which just made it all the better."
The words were causing Togami's own breath to quicken. He felt his heart racing, his blood pumping. "And then what?" he asked, his voice a tad lower as his hormones kicked in. He finally managed to get Naegi's shirt off. It was becoming a struggle to not smother him with touches and kisses.
Naegi laughed. "And then I woke up," he admitted. "Hard as hell, too. Had to immediately get a cold shower."
Togami smirked. Naegi reached up and began undoing the buttons of his shirt, and he kissed the underside of his chin slowly as he felt his shirt loosen. Finally, Togami swiped his boyfriend's hands away and quickly did the remaining few buttons before taking the shirt off and setting it aside. He leaned down, pressing their chests together, and both shuddered at the heat and skin contact. Still smirking, he trailed kisses over to Naegi's ear before whispering, "Well, that gives me more than enough to work with."
"Hmm?"
Placing a firm kiss on Naegi's lips, Togami looked directly into those beautiful hazel eyes and whispered, "Why don't we see if it's as fun as you remember?"
"Y-You mean–"
Togami cut off his words with another firm kiss, and this time, their tongues immediately attacked one another. Naegi's hands frantically ran over Togami's chest and sides as Togami's own hands wandered down to the top of his boyfriend's pants. Breaking the kiss for air, Togami shuddered as Naegi moaned against his lips.
He smiled. "I take that as a yes?"
"Y-Yeah…" Naegi smiled as he nodded and whispered, "I'd… Y-Yeah." He looked up at him, his eyes full of hope and excitement. The grin washed away any embarrassment Togami may have felt in that moment. "You'd really try it?"
"I did suggest that this night was for you, didn't I?"
"Byakuya…"
"So let's give it a try, hm?"
Naegi nodded once more, then shifted slightly to be further down the bed. The whole time, he stared into Togami's eyes. "Thank you."
"You deserve it, Makoto. You deserve…" Togami let his fingers trail along his cheek and neck, letting a wide smile cross his own lips. "You deserve this."
The way Naegi grabbed him and pulled him into a searing kiss made his heart race. He'd do this right. He had to. There was no other option. He'd take this slowly, just like in Naegi's dream. They had all night. And while Togami was going to savor every second of this, he had to make sure Naegi did, as well.
