Hi everyone, just a poem I came up with following the Marauder's adventures in the Forbidden Forest! Read and review please!

A Full Moon Night.

Racing across smooth green grass
and watching up ahead
A stag prances regally by the lake,
fur shining dark roan red.
Then another shadow appears
blending with the night
As a large black dog gambols 'round
bathed in the full moon's light.

Playing near an enormous tree
which thrashes round quite madly
The two are joined by a straggly rat
that sniffs at a buzzing bee.
A dancing wind tickles the group
who, under freedom's rule,
Continue to play and run the grounds,
always acting the fool.

But suddenly the three do freeze
as the night is pierced by a noise
For in the distance a werewolf howls
and his animal friends stand poised.
In a single moment the stag takes a leap
to be followed by rat and dog
Cause playtime's over, the mission's begun
and they dash quickly through the fog.

The stag gallops faster, hooves pounding dirt
Rat streaks forward, pressing on
The dog keeps pace, ears alert,
for the wolf's reign won't end 'till dawn.
And soon they must be getting near
cause the howls are ever louder
Through fog a silhouette emerges
the wolf's only getting rowdier.

The three arrive and bound right up
prepared for the attack,
The two canines meet and lock their eyes,
the werewolf stares right back.
And suddenly the stag rears up,
dog rips away his gaze,
As both unite and move as one
and all becomes a haze.

In the dark, the fight's a blur,
yet the wolf's still up and raring
Black & roan rushes past in a whir,
and one wonders how they're faring.
But suddenly the fight calms down
and the night falls deathly still,
And the heavy breathing of each beast
warm's the air of its eerie chill.

In unison, dog, wolf and stag
raise their eyes up to the sky
The rat peeks out from behind a rock
to figure out just why.
For as the sky begins to lighten,
and night turns into day,
The sun comes up with a yellow gleam
and the full moon wanes away.

A songbird starts to sing its song
its nest already made,
And the werewolf cries a mournful howl
as its fur begins to fade.
Stag, rat and dog wait happily
as if in expectation,
For the wolf's almost in human form,
whom they will greet in salutation.

And slowly, but surely a boy appears
where the full moon beast had stood.
Looking first confused, but then comprehending,
as a werewolf turned man should,
Laying tired eyes on his three best friends,
their own eyes filled with worry,
He smiles towards dog, rat and stag
and signals them to hurry.

Though the night's adventure had ended at last
they had only to wait a month
Before all could become their animal forms
to stop the werewolf eating lunch.
For now they're turned back into boys
and wandering back to school,
Still best friends - and who wouldn't be,
after stopping a werewolf's rule?
