Numbuh 1 arrived in the kitchen, he saw Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 2 hugging while Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 were on the couch fighting over the remote controller "Hey guys…"
"You don't sound too happy" Numbuh 2 said
"Just a headache" Numbuh 1 said "Hey you two, stop fighting for a second, I need silence" he said
Numbuh 4 sighed and gave the controller to Numbuh 3 as she laid on his lap "Let me use it later…" he smiled at her while stroking her hair
"Okay…" Numbuh 3 said caressing his face while watching television
"Are they…" Numbuh 1 whispered to Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5
"Yeah, just after they arrived in the treehouse, it seems they talked for a bit in Numbuh 4's room" Numbuh 2 whispered
Numbuh 4 looked at his friends in the kitchen whispering "Are you guys talking about us behind our backs?" He looked at them a bit annoyed
"Only good things, Numbuh 5 promises" Abby snickered while looking at him
Numbuh 1 stared at the couple "I know It's a little early to ask you two about this kind of stuff but, are you guys enjoying it? The whole dating a operative thing I mean"
Kuki got up and sat on the couch next to Wally and looked at Numbuh 1 smiling "It's great! He doesn't yell as much with me and I don't get as mad when he says Rainbow monkeys are stupid" Numbuh 3 giggled
"Okay Numbuh 3 isn't a good source of information, Numbuh 4?" Nigel looked at Wally expecting a good answer
"It's okay I guess…" he blushed and tried to not make visual contact with Numbuh 1
Numbuh 1 facepalmed
"Look if you think she is as crazy as the previous one don't worry about it, it's impossible to top that off" Numbuh 2 said laughing
Numbuh 5 nudged Numbuh 2 in the ribs, angry at him and then smiling at Nigel "What Numbuh 2 means… is that maybe you are overthinking this stuff, you should just go with the flow, relax, eat some good stuff, talk with her and if you feel it was a good date you know… kiss the girl in the end, it's not rocket science" Numbuh 5 said
"To be honest I don't know if I like her this way" Numbuh 1 scratched the back of his head a bit embarrassed
The other operatives looked at each other worried "You don't like her?" Numbuh 3 asked him
"I don't know if I do, I never thought about her in this way, I'm happy that she confessed though" Nigel said
"That seals the deal for me, you like her, you wouldn't be happy about it if you didn't" Numbuh 4 said crossing his arms
"First smart thing Numbuh 5 heard you say today" Abby smiled at Wally
"Maybe you're right…" Numbuh 1 scratched his chin "I have to call her… I'm still not sure where to take her tomorrow" he pulled his communicator out of his pocket
Numbuh 3 tried to say something about it but Numbuh 5 gestured her to stay quiet
Back in the moonbase Rachel was relaxing on her chair drinking hot chocolate, there was barely any work left to do and most operatives had left, the only ones remaining were Patton and Fanny who were still helping her signing some stuff while she catches her breath "I owe you guys…" she smiled at them
"Shut up" Fanny said smiling while she placed some files on a drawer "You owe us nothing, just go get him Sir"
"Stop you're making me blush" Rachel laughed
Fanny followed suit and laughed with her
Suddenly the console Rachel was sitting on displayed Numbuh 1's face with "requesting communication" written in front of it. Rachel spilled hot chocolate on the floor and covered her mouth and nose just so it didn't spill from there as well "Oh god…"
"Relax… It's probably nothing to worry about, just talk to him like you normally would" Fanny approached Rachel and fixed her hair that was a bit messy from work "It will have to do" Fanny returned to her chair so she didn't appear in the transmission
Rachel gave a deep breath and accepted the video call "Hi…" She waved at Nigel blushing a bit
"Hey… I know we decided I would choose the place but… where would you like to go? Numbuh 1 blushed while looking at her
"Are you alone?" Rachel looked at him blushing a bit less
Numbuh 1 looked at his friends who were watching him attentively, all of them staying very quiet "Yeah… I'm alone, what about you?" he asked her
Rachel looked at Fanny and Patton who were standing behind the console now paying attention to their conversation "No one in sight" she said smiling at him
"So… where do you wanna go?" Numbuh asked scratching the back of his head while blushing
"Well… Moonbase cafeteria would be nice" she smiled at him
"Isn't it a bit…" Numbuh 1 tried to find a word
"Full of people who will talk behind our backs?" Rachel laughed while blushing "Yeah, but it has a nice view of earth and I can empty it for us" she smiled at him "You can pick me up here in central command"
"Sure…" he smiled at her while blushing "Numbuh 1 signing off" the transmission had ended
Rachel let out a sigh in relief "My heart was beating so fast… " she paused for a bit while smiling to herself "I thought he was calling to cancel it" she stared at the blank screen smiling
"Why don't you go to your room and sleep? Numbuh 86 and I can take care of the rest" Patton said
"Yeah… I think it's for the best, luckily I store some clothes for special occasions in my room here in the moonbase, good night guys…" she yawned and left the room
"Thanks for being a friend" Fanny looked at Patton smiling at him "Not every boy gets that from me, consider yourself lucky" she smiled at him
"Yeah Yeah sure…" Patton sat at his desk and started looking into some files on his computer
Fanny also sat at her desk and started reading a document, for about a minute the central command room was completely silent with only the two operatives sharing a few glances from time to time
"Hey…" they said at the same time looking at each other
"Huhhh… You first" Fanny said smiling at him blushing
"I was going to ask if you are seeing someone actually…" Patton blushed as he looked away from her
"Oh… I… Was going to ask you the same thing actually…" Fanny blushed even more also looking away from him
"So? Are you?" He asked her
"No… Are you?" She asked him
"No…" He said
Several minutes had passed, Rachel was wearing her pajamas and walking around Moonbase, she had just forgotten her communicator inside her desk so she was walking towards the central command room while drinking a mug of warm milk before she could open the door though she heard a familiar giggle coming out of it "Nooo… It can't be…" she muttered to herself as she slowly opened the door and peeked inside the room her eyes widened in shock and delight at the scene she was presented with, Fanny was sitting on Patton's lap while kissing him passionately on the lips
Fanny broke the kiss and picked a mug of hot chocolate that was on Patton's desk, he did the same and both made a toast with the mugs "To us" she laughed before starting to drink the hot chocolate
"To us" he smiled at her and started drinking from his mug as well, after emptying their mugs they started kissing again
"Alright… if I go very slowly maybe they won't notice me…" Rachel muttered to herself as she opened the door slowly and started crawling slowly towards her desk, she then managed to open her drawer and get her communicator, she then crawled back to the door "My spy skills are still on point" she giggled to herself as she left for her room
"For an ex-spy, she is kinda bad at stealth" Patton said while kissing Fanny
"Give her a break she hasn't practiced much since she became supreme leader" she chuckled while kissing him
Rachel Laid her head on the bed and after collecting her thoughts managed to sleep
Several hours later Numbuh 1 was looking in front of a mirror while the rest of his team looked at him, he was wearing a red shirt with a black open vest on top of it he had basic beige pants "Isn't it too much?"
"Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 3 choose this just for you, don't you dare take this off" Abby said angrily at his remark
"You're looking good, the sunglasses are your selling point don't forget about it" Numbuh 3 said giggling
"Are you two even sure Numbuh 362 will wear something special today?" Numbuh 4 asked the girls
"Yeah, who is to say she won't just go in her normal clothes?" Numbuh 2 said
Numbuh 3 giggled "You are lucky you are cute" Numbuh 3 kissed Numbuh 4
"You two just watch, Numbuh 5 knows her sources" Abby smiled
Rachel was in her bedroom looking in a mirror wearing an aqua and black simple dress while Fanny brushed her hair "Is this really necessary? He is a simple guy he will probably wear his usual clothes" Rachel said looking worried at herself
"I really shouldn't tell you this, but I arranged with Numbuhs 3 and 5 to get him some nice clothes as well, relax it's all under control" Numbuh 86 said
Rachel groaned "Thanks… but I didn't want to get you involved, you already helped me a lot yesterday" she said feeling a bit guilty
"I would do it even if you asked me not to" she giggled as she stopped brushing her hair "Just a few more touches now… your hair is good, it was just a bit messy from work, you look beautiful" Fanny picked a make-up kit from her purse and applied some of it on Rachel "Perfect… just the right amount"
"Thanks… this isn't even a date to be honest, he just wants to talk… about us dating" Rachel said blushing
"You're cute, don't worry about a thing, he would be crazy to reject you" Fanny smirked at Rachel
Rachel and Fanny returned to Central command, the other operatives had their eyes fixated on Rachel, it wasn't every day they could see their leader wearing something other than her samurai leader uniform
Rachel sat at her desk while Fanny approached Patton "So? What do you think?" Fanny looked at him confident
"No comments" He smiled at her "anything I say can earn me a punch from you" he said laughing
"You get a free pass on this one, tell me your thoughts" she crossed her arms smiling at him
"She is beautiful, you did a great job" Patton smiled at Rachel
"I do my best" she smiled to herself confidently "Don't get used to saying stuff like that to other girls though" she grabbed him by the shirt in a playful way
Patton Laughed "Wouldn't dream of it"
Numbuh 23 suddenly entered the room and handed some files to Rachel "These are just for storage, they are reports from some new weapon tests, you can read them later" she then took a second to look at Rachel's attire for the date "You are gorgeous Sir" she smiled at her leader
"T-Thanks Numbuh 23, Fanny did it for me" she said blushing while storing the reports on a drawer
Numbuh 23 then picked a scent and cracked a smile "Well… Bye!" she looked around and found Fanny talking to Patton, she walked up to the head of Decommissioning "Tangerine?" she crossed her arms smiling behind Fanny
Fanny immediately shivered "It was a whim, I hope I did the right choice, please don't judge me too badly" Fanny placed her hand on her own forehead
Numbuh 10 then suddenly arrived at moonbase and looked at Fanny talking with Numbuh 23 while Patton watched the two talking "Hey guys" she waved at them "Rachel looks amazing"
"Great you are his cousin, maybe you can make my heart stop beating like a jackhammer" Fanny gestured for Numbuh 10 to come closer
The Sector L leader approached Fanny and smiled at her "What is the problem?"
"She used a tangerine flavor lip gloss on Rachel on a whim" Numbuh 23 said smiling
"Oh, I see…" Numbuh 10 scratched her chin "I think he will like it, don't worry too much, Nigel is a simple boy" she smiled at Fanny "The make-up is great though, you managed to make her look even better, please share some tips with me another time" Numbuh 10 looked at her watch and widened her eyes "I have to go" she waved at Rachel who was just looking at a screen "Good luck in the Date Sir" she said while leaving the room
Rachel sighed pinching her forehead "It's fine… just be yourself" she said to herself
Numbuh 1 had arrived at the Moonbase, operatives in the main hangar of the moonbase stared at him, some were laughing and whispering to each other while others just complimented him thanking him for saving them yesterday and telling him they cheered for him and Rachel
What Numbuh 1 didn't know was that his team followed him to Moonbase, shortly after he arrived they parked their vehicle and followed him silently
Numbuh 1 arrived at central command, suddenly every operative in the giant room was setting their gazes at him "Huhhh… Hi" Numbuh 1 waved while blushing at Rachel who was sitting at her desk "You look beautiful"
"Thanks…" she said while waving back at him blushing as well, she then got up from her chair and approached him "You look amazing" she smiled at him "Shall we go?" she held his hand without thinking
Nigel noticed she had grabbed his hand "O-Of course" they both proceeded to leave the room holding hands
Fanny breathed a huge sigh of relief "So far so good…"
Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 5 approached Fanny "That dress is beautiful!" Numbuh 3 hugged Fanny
Fanny smiled at Numbuh 5 while hugging Numbuh 3 "That black waistcoat suits him well, you did great" she said while Numbuh 3 released her
"Thanks, Numbuh 5 hopes those two do fine on their own" Abby said
Fanny smiled at them "Come with me, I wanna show you guys something, you come too Patton, Herbie you take care of things in our absence" Fanny said while leading Sector V and her Boyfriend to her Office, she sat on her chair and pressed a button on her computer, the screen displayed video feed from a camera in the cafeteria
"No way…" Numbuh 2 looked shocked at Fanny
"I set it up earlier today, I was the one who arranged to empty the cafeteria for Rachel after all" She grabbed a few bottles of soda from a fridge bar below her desk "You guys don't have any kind of problem with spying on them do you?" Fanny looked at the other operatives
Everyone in the room shook their heads and picked a chair to watch Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 362's date
Nigel and Rachel were greeted by Numbuhs 83, 84 and 85 "Please follow me" Numbuh 85 greeted the couple and led them to their table
"I swear this wasn't my idea" Rachel said while her cheeks were a deep shade of red
"I believe in you, these clothes were Numbuhs 3 and 5 idea" he said smiling
"They look good on you though" she said while smiling at him starting to calm down
Numbuh 1 blushed "You look nice as well" he smiled at her "I've never seen you wearing make-up"
Rachel's cheeks went red all over again "D-Does it look weird?" she asked him with a worried tone
"Not at all" Nigel told her in a relaxed tone "I'm just not used to it, but it looks good"
"Thanks" she smiled feeling less worried
Numbuhs 83 and 84 brought them a serving of french fries with meatball sandwiches and a couple of sodas "Enjoy" she said before leaving the room
"Again sorry about that, this is Fanny's idea I just asked her to close down the cafeteria for us" Rachel said kinda embarrassed scratching the back of her head
"It's alright, a bit embarrassing but the whole situation is embarrassing" He laughed
"Sorry about confessing to you as a zombie by the way" she said in a sad tone lowering her head
"It's nothing we haven't already seen don't worry about it, plus it made me happy that you confessed" he said smiling while blushing at her
"Really?" she raised her head and looked at him while asking in a happy tone
"Well… It must have been eating you from the inside if your zombie version felt the need to say it" Numbuh 1 said while eating some french fries
"So… Do you like me?" Rachel blushed again but this time she started drinking her soda to cool her head off
"I know this might offend you but… I didn't think about you like that until yesterday" Numbuh 1 said blushing
"Oh…" she lowered her head and closed her eyes bracing herself to get rejected
"That said… the more I thought about dating you the happier it made me feel, you are an amazing person Rachel, You work harder than anyone in this organization to make sure everything works out here on the moon and on earth" He smiled at her "So I thought, why don't give it a try?"
"For real?!" her face lightened up as she raised her head and smiled at him, she then noticed she was too excited and tried to get a hold of herself "I mean… For Real?" she said it again but this time on a more serious but happy tone
"Yeah, I mean unless you are not sure about this" Numbuh 1 said in a jokingly tone
"No! I'm one hundred percent sure about this!" she leaned on the table and approached him, she then noticed he was joking and sat back in her chair then gave him a light punch on the shoulder "Don't go joking about stuff like this" she smiled at him "So… Are we officially on a date now?"
"I guess so…" he scratched the back of his head while blushing "Let's eat those sandwiches first, would be a shame to let Numbuh 86's work go to waste"
Rachel and Nigel filled their plates with the sandwiches and ordered a few more sodas, they were laughing and making small talk while enjoying their food "I just couldn't believe when he flushed the cereal" she said laughing
"That went really bad for us" Nigel noticed they were almost finished and then looked at Rachel and blushed "May I ask you a question?"
"Sure, ask away" Rachel was more relaxed now, she was drinking her soda while waiting to hear what Nigel wanted to ask her
"When did you start to like me?" Numbuh 1 said a bit embarrassed
Rachel got a bit surprised by his question but smiled at him, she was happy he asked her that "I would have to say… since the day you managed to prove Chad was a traitor but I think what really made me fall in love with you was the tag game when you helped me find myself, I spent the entire night thinking about you the day I woke up, barely got any sleep in the days to follow"
"I… had no idea, Sorry for making you feel like that" Numbuh 1 said
"Are you kidding? By the end of that week when I finally realized I was in love with you it was one of the happiest days of my life" she blushed and gave him an awkwardly smile
"Hey... Do... Do you want to kiss?" Numbuh 1 asked her a bit nervous
"I thought you were never going to ask!" Rachel smiled at him but below the table she was pinching her own hand making sure it wasn't a dream, Numbuh 1 noticed it but decided to stay quiet
They approached each other and kissed silently, they stood there kissing one at each side of the table for a few seconds until they broke off the kiss "So... How was it? Was it good?"
Rachel held both her cheeks and felt their warmth while she smiled to herself "I don't know… Let me test it again" she approached Numbuh 1 and kissed him again, this time they held each other while kissing
The Sector W waiters were watching the couple blushing while the operatives in Fanny's office were celebrating toasting with mugs of soda
"Yeah… I love it!" Rachel was on cloud nine she had a dumb smile on her face that she simply couldn't unmake
"Hmmm..." Numbuh 1 took a second as he felt something on his lips "Tangerine?"
"Fanny choose it, did you like it?" Rachel asked him laughing but Fanny was on the edge of her seat waiting for his answer
"It's great, I would prefer the natural flavor though" he smiled at her
"Maybe on the second date" she laughed, then picked her chair and placed it right next to Nigel "I hope the owner doesn't get mad" she giggled as she resumed kissing Numbuh 1
Fanny was watching the couple kissing smiling to herself feeling accomplished "I'm the best" she said
"Yeah, Yeah you are" Patton kissed her on the cheek "They look great together. Is it as good as you imagined?"
"It's even better, he liked the tangerine flavor" she picked her mug and filled it again with soda "Let's toast again, To me" she raised her mug but no one raised it with her "You guys suck" she said laughing, she normally would be mad at something like that but the scene being displayed on her screen was warming her heart in such way that she simply wasn't able to be mad, Rachel was sitting on Numbuh 1's lap kissing him.
