Valentines and White day Special

I'll easily admit, yes this could have been done on the actual date, and yes, I haven't updated in a while but life did get rather busy for a point not that it has completely settled down yet. Anyway, thanks to who gave a respectful request for this despite the time that had passed.

The sun shone through the window and onto Nathan's face causing him to stir slightly in his slumber before he turned onto his side, letting the light merely shine onto the back of his head, sparing his eyes. Yet, unlike most mornings, there was something else that probed at him, a certain scent in the air, a welcome smell that he had never had really smelt before yet despite that he felt that he could give a rather good guess at what it was.

His ears likewise managed to pick up on the sound of movement in the house as well and the voices of two girls going about whatever business downstairs. "Wait… if Wendy and Carla are already downstairs then what time is it?" Nathan couldn't help but mumble to himself as his mind was already quickly waking up with a sense of alarm.

It wasn't like he ever really slept in that much more than the girls, but on the odds days when he did or simply whenever she felt like it, Wendy would come up to his room and wake him up so that he could ready himself whilst breakfast was prepared. Yet today he couldn't deny that the girls were already up and cooking something that he could smell wasn't an ordinary breakfast whilst he was left to sleep in.

"Am I being late for something?" Nathan couldn't help but wonder to himself as he finally managed to bring together the strength to get out of bed, hurriedly throwing off his nightwear and putting his clothes on in little time. Yet by the time that the god slayer had managed to dress himself and leave the room, he quickly caught sight of Wendy who was already halfway up the stairs with a gentle smile on her face as the same warm, welcoming sight that Nathan enjoyed every day.

"Oh, Nathan, you're already awake!" Wendy said with a bit of startled shock before covering her smile. "I thought that you would have tried to sleep in a little longer, I was kind of looking forward to it actually…" she continued whilst he voice steadily drifted into a bit a murmur yet it was nothing that Nathan's enhanced hearing couldn't hear whilst a bit of blush began to adorn her cheeks.

"You were?" Nathan asked, almost dumbly until something clicked in his mind. "Does that mean…" he began to ask, already having a good idea of just what he could have expected with a sly smile on his face, thinking of the same thing that he usually received every time Wendy came to wake him up.

"Don't ask if you know…" Wendy said with a pout as her embarrassment increased before she recovered herself slightly, simply looking on at Nathan with a hopeful look in her eye alongside a meek smile that promptly made her nigh irresistible.

Without word Nathan quickly walked over to Wendy whilst she stood at the top of the stairs, waiting in anticipation for what the pair of them wanted before leaning into his presence as she closed her eyes. The two naturally drifted together with zero effort as they felt almost compelled until their lips gently brushed against one another, before they firmly yet gently pushed together in the happy quiet moment between the two.

For what felt like a short while the two stayed like that, purely enjoying one another and the shared kiss until they finally parted, each of them still able to feel the other's warm against their lips as they reeled in the sensation before finally speaking. "You know you don't need to wake me up for that, I'm willing whenever, wherever. I couldn't say no."

"Mmm…" Wendy pouted again in response as her cheeks began to get red again. "You can't mean wherever can you? I don't think that I could take been watched by others…" she mumbled despite leaning into his chest as he held onto her shoulders gently.

"Yet you don't see to worry very much about my presence do you?" Another voice abruptly called out mostly to the surprise of Wendy as she shifted herself to look back down the stairs to see none other than Carla looking back at them, looking rather unimpressed at the same time.

"It's not like that! It's just that we're home so… why do you keep coming across us like this!" Wendy couldn't help but try to argue back whilst the exceed sighed, the sight of the two teenagers being nothing new to her and nor did she ever hold anything against them. It was of course something to be considered quite natural between two lovers whilst they were within the confines of their home, even if they had one another occupant with them.

"I could say get a room but that often has different implication along with it…" Carla replied. "But I guess with today in particular it should be considered more my fault, there's nothing wrong with this."

"Ah…" Wendy said before taking a deep breath to recompose herself before another idea came to mind. "I forgot to ask, does that mean you will want some more alone time with Happy today as well?" she asked making it now Carla's turn to go scarlet instead.

"Well… there's no need for you to pry about my own matters. Unlike you, I can arrange things that I don't need to have to worry about others." Carla eventually answered with a slight cough, trying to act as if she had just recovered some of her dignity.

'Something special about today' Nathan thought to himself with a sense of cluelessness, desperately thinking about just what the date was and any kind of knowledge that he would have that would relate to it. 'I really need to start learning about more special dates until waiting until the day… Wendy can't be willing to forgive me about these things for too much longer."

Special dates having been something that had always managed to slip past the god slayer as he carried little to no knowledge about even the most well known of them. It wasn't out of ignorance or forgetfulness but rather a matter of origin, as someone from a broken timeline where time never flowed, it became a work where it was incredibly hard to go off any metric of time as they all lost meaning and paired with the every looming gloom of the world made it so there were no know and celebrated holidays.

It had even been the case for Christmas, with him only having known to get Wendy and Carla a present thanks to all the decorations and the large amount of fuss that not only Wendy, Carla and the rest of the guild had made but even the whole of the town as well.

It had momentarily surprised the girls as well when Nathan had first admitted his lack of knowledge to them, but the shock didn't manage to last for long either as they had already had the sneaking suspicion of such sad news being a possible reality…

"Hey Nathan, come on, there's something special for you!" Wendy cheerfully said as she began to tug on his hand, having already intertwined their fingers together.

"What is it?" Nathan couldn't help but ask whilst he allowed himself to be pulled along by the excited girl towards the dining room before having her sit him down and rush into the kitchen, returning with a small but well-decorated chocolate cake in one hand whilst a small little bag of gummy candies were in the other. "Did you…" Nathan started to ask as he pointed at the gifts that she placed on the table.

"I made them myself and with a little bit of help with Carla." Wendy answered with a smile, not needing to hear the rest of his question. "Happy Valentines!" she cheered before eagerly looking on for whatever Nathan's reaction would be towards her efforts.

"Valentines?" Nathan repeated with an unsure voice, telling her everything she needed to know.

"It really was a surprise huh? I thought that it might be like this." Wendy said with a small smile. "Valentines is a day of the year where woman give gifts and spend the day expressing their love to their special somebody, and then one month later is white day when the men return their appreciation. And this is just something that I thought I would do for you… Do you like it?"

"How could I not?" Nathan responded with an easy smile much to Wendy's delight.

"Try something, I made sure to test it a little bit and I've gained confidence in my baking skills lately as well!" Wendy said as she fetched a fork for Nathan yet seemingly hesitate for a moment before handing it to him as she merely stared at the cake for a moment before snapping out of her reverie with more blush on her cheeks.

It wasn't something that managed to slip past Nathan's eyes but it was something that he didn't manage to comprehend at the moment so he merely pushed it to the back of his mind as he accepted the fork from her, quickly using it to cut a small slice of the mini cake before stabbing it and bringing it to his mouth. Instantly his mouth began to explode with flavour as the taste of rich chocolate filled it whilst he couldn't help but find the soft texture of the cake incredible.

"This is amazing!" Nathan instantly praised it with a face of wonder and amazement whilst Wendy felt overjoyed as she could tell the compliments were earnest before waiting for Nathan to try the second of her gifts, the gummy candies that she had put into a neat jar.

Popping off the cap did Nathan then reach it, taking two of the small bear-shaped candies before quickly popping them into his mouth one at a time whilst his expression soon shaped into one of content and satisfaction. "Their great as well, but how do you make these?" Nathan asked as he put the top back onto the bottle before continuing to eat the cake that was before him.

"Well to be honest, when it comes to gummi's I had to buy some more pre-prepared ingredients which made making them much simpler honestly, but I wanted to do something more than that so I made sure to cook the whole cake from scratch!" Wendy happily answered whilst she seemingly enjoyed watching Nathan merely eating her cooking.

"Wait, if all girls do these kinds of things for their special someone… then is that what you were referring to with Carla at the stairs? Did she make something for Happy?" Nathan then asked as he remembered their short interaction and the distinct lack of the feline.

"Well, she made Happy a little something as well, but she knew that he simply would be overjoyed about fish so I think she's planning on giving him one whilst taking him somewhere," Wendy answered with a smile. "I'm sure that plenty of others of the guild will be thinking of doing something today, they might even give friendly gifts to their friends if they don't have a relationship as well."

"Ah… I'm wondering about showing up there then… it's not like there will be tons of people that focus on us right?" Nathan asked.

"Um… It's not like it's special to just us and everyone has gotten used to us dating now so I don't think so… but it is also the first time I have ever celebrated valentines as well…" Wendy said as she looked down into her lap whilst she felt like she had just given another confession until she noticed something about Nathan.

"Huh? Why are you smiling? Did I say something just then?" Wendy asked as she noticed the somewhat unique why he was smiling. It was a smile that she knew she didn't always get to see on him, she could never describe how but whenever it appeared she could tell it was different and unique.

"Oh, um…" Nathan said, moving to scratch his chin whilst thinking about what to say. "It's just that this is your first valentine so… I'm your only valentine, right? It's just that, I'm kinda glad it's that way…" he admitted to the slight surprise of Wendy.

"A girl could take some offence to that? It's calling out they never had a relationship before…" Wendy pointed out, yet contrary to her words she didn't seem all that upset, instead now she also had a warm smile. "But I'm glad that it's the case… and I'm your only valentine as well, right?" she then asked.

"Of course," Nathan replied with a confident smile as yet another moment of welcome silence happened between them until Nathan managed to steal Wendy's lips again to her welcome surprise…

A little later that day the young couple had eventually made it to the guild albeit on their own for the odd change as Carla made certain to go on ahead, completely certain that she wouldn't want to have to be around the two any more than necessary out of mere desire to keep out of the way of whatever the two would happen to get up for the day.

Neither of the teens minded it however, in fact even Wendy found a rare pleasure in the absence of the exceed as she took full advantage of it and her free arms, making sure to instead link arms with Nathan the whole way, keeping their bodies close to one another even if it made even the simple act of walking at an ordinary pace somewhat awkward.

There were plenty of different people on the streets of Magnolia that not only recognised the two but also happily made small comments to themselves at the sight of the two, with mainly the woman unable to help but enjoy the sight of 'young love' whilst remembering their own youth as well.

Yet despite those comments neither of them separated, in fact, they only drew closer to one another as their ears picked up on other comments as well…

Whilst they walked along the pair of them could also hear jealous comments as well. Whilst Nathan picked up on the words of some older and simply dreaming men, he couldn't help but focus on the ones with almost bitter voices yet he paid them no attention, yet he couldn't help but hold onto Wendy slightly tighter in response…

Wendy didn't fare much better either, as they walked she took picked up on the voices of various girls that had noticed them and had started making comments about her and Nathan. She couldn't help but turn her head in their direction to catch sight of a small group of them who all blatantly stared back at her, each of them smiling yet she could see something contrary to the smile in their eyes alone.

Jealousy…

It was the way that they looked at them with envy whilst whispering among one another all the while, but their whispers weren't enough to keep Wendy from hearing their words as one word, in particular, stuck her hard.

Steal… They were talking about the thought of stealing away her boyfriend…

In response Wendy couldn't help but feel completely upset at the comment as she suddenly turned her head away in a huff before glancing up at Nathan before a strange sense of determination and boldness came over her as she further clung to Nathan, leaning her weight against him some more as they made their way to the guild…

Not even when they opened the doors to the building and entered did Wendy separate all that much from Nathan as they moved to sit down somewhere in the guild. The two being almost glued to one another certainly attracted more attention than they usually would but unlike the outside world, things hardly escalated beyond a mere warm smile at the pair…

"I think… I wouldn't mind staying like this for the whole day…" Wendy eventually mumbled to Nathan whilst she continued to lean against him, finding a sense of relaxation in the action.

"I know how you feel," Nathan replied as he rested his head on top of Wendy's head.

"Did you hear what some people said about you as we walked here?"

"They said I shouldn't deserve you and one guy almost sounded like he wanted me dead?" Nathan almost nonchalantly replied, yet despite the sound of his voice Wendy could somehow tell that wasn't how he was truly feeling.

"They said things like that?" Wendy questioned as she pulled away for a moment to look Nathan in the eye, disbelief in her own as if such a scenario was impossible to imagine.

"honestly too many were like that…" Nathan replied as he squeezed Wendy's hand with no time passing before she reciprocated the action.

"You know there's nothing to worry about, I don't like the idea that anyone would think like that about my… boyfriend…" Wendy said as his face went red when mentioning just what Nathan was to him. Whilst she had long gotten used to dating at this point, she still rarely actually called him out at the title, as there were few in their lives that they felt the need to properly introduce themselves to. "Besides, I won't leave you. Ever."

"I didn't doubt you but I'm glad to hear it. But if you didn't hear them, then what did you hear?" Nathan replied as his expression began to genuinely soften to his girlfriend's warm words, yet his own question began the reversing of roles as Wendy's hand tightened on his own.

"There were some women talking about you… they thought you looked cool…" Wendy answered him. "But I guess they didn't say anything like those people you heard did… but they did so with their eyes."

"With their eyes?" Nathan asked, genuinely confused at what his girlfriend was saying, pondering if it was merely a level of jealousy she was at.

"I wouldn't have known or noticed it either before but… you can tell what some of them were thinking when you saw their eyes…" Wendy continued to answer.

"Wendy right you know, there are plenty of girls out there who make sure to look kind and friendly but there is almost always something else going on underneath. Other women have an intuition for these things so it's not surprising Wendy can tell now, especially when she has to look out for you now!" A familiar, cheery and friendly voice suddenly called out to them earning their attention and snapping them out of their moods that had accumulated during their walk.

"Oh Mira, good morning!" Wendy greeted the barmaid without even a shred of her previous traces of a bad mood, holding nothing but earnest friendliness for the take-over mage.

"Good morning you two!" Mira greeted them back. "But I have to say, the two of you sound almost protective of one another the way you were talking about other jealous people. On valentines especially those kinds of feelings from other people are normal."

"But that behaviour's nothin special for em." A more gruff voice was suddenly heard from behind as Gajeel and Levy approached together, seeming to have overheard the conversation.

"What do you mean?" Levy asked the iron dragon, making sure to look up at him with curiosity in her eyes.

"You know that dragon slayers take on the qualities of a dragon don't you, their behaviour comes from that, not that I fully understand why a god slayer would be like it tho." Gajeel simply explained, setting off a lightbulb in Levy's head whilst Wendy and Nathan shared a glance, knowing that it was likely due to Nathan's own developed dragon seed from his dragon god mode…

"That's true, you guys are plenty superhuman at times because of it, but it even extends to their behaviour as well?" Levy mentioned as she thought about the possibility, ruminating over all the dragon slayers that she knew off and trying to envision them acting anything like the three slayers with her.

"Even then I still wouldn't have imagined little Wendy ever acting like this before. I might have even thought it to be a joke." Mira admitted with an awkward smile whilst the attention when back to the young couple for a moment before darting back to Gajeel. "Wait, does that mean that you're also protective of Levy as well, Gajeel?"

"Yeah he is, he's even glared at some people before and scared them off before as well…" Levy answered for him almost with a sigh whilst Gajeel remained perfectly quiet, even beginning to look off into the distance a bit as if almost ashamed of that part of his nature.

"I almost feel that Gajeel would do that either way though…" Nathan couldn't help but comment as he looked at the iron dragon.

"Hey!" he snapped back instantly whilst Levy giggled faintly in response even more to Gajeel's shock

"So then, have you already gotten some of your valentines? What kinds of things did Wendy think of doing for you?" Mira then asked, breaking the moment with a smile so sweet that Nathan almost couldn't stand it, and felt all the more strongly about it when it was so clear that it had a bit of her almost devilish side to it as well.

"Mira!" Wendy couldn't help but cry out now whilst her face had turned red with embarrassment.

"Oh? After how you too have been I would have thought for sure that you wouldn't mind talking about it. Unless?" Mira replied with a mischievous smile that seemingly managed to ignite something in Levy as well as she seemingly caught onto intentions.

"Hey, Wendy, come with us for a moment!" Levy then said, gently holding onto the girl's arms and pulling for her to get up much to Wendy's own confusion yet she still couldn't stop Mira and Levy managing to drag her off closer to the corner of the guild, leaving Nathan and Gajeel by themselves sat down at the table..

"What is that about?" Nathan asked as he turned to the iron dragon, hoping that he would have some idea about the things that would run through his partner's mind.

"Don't ask me. It doesn't matter how long you've known em, there's also something weird that pops into their heads." Gajeel replied with a gruff voice as he too blandly looked over at the group of girls, unable to help but have a feeling that they were getting up to no good at all with Wendy. "You've got sensitive hearing as well now, don't ya? Just listen in on em."

"I guess I could try…" Nathan replied as they continued to watch the girls…

"So what things have you done?" Levy asked as she felt they were far away enough from the boys, yet she still knew in the back of her mind that they likely could still hear them if they put their minds to it.

"Well…" Wendy mumbled at first whilst thinking to herself why the girls were still so invested in her relationship despite the time that they had been going out. "Me and Carla worked together on some baking in the morning, I made him a cake and some gummi candies…" she answered whilst the woman eagerly listened.

"You walked to the guild practically glued together as well, you must have kissed right?" Mira then asked, pressing the girl with everything that she knew and managing to get her to nod in response.

"Are you thinking of doing anything else?" Levy then asked. "You've got the whole day to spend together, maybe you were thinking of going somewhere?

"Going somewhere? Like eating out?" Wendy said thoughtfully, her mind now starting to think about anything else she could do to celebrate the day with Nathan, thinking about everything that she knew about him and anything that she could do that would bring him joy.

"Or maybe you just cook his favourite things at home, I'm sure that he loves your cooking!" Mira continued to point out.

"Um, Levy, what kind of things have you done for Gajeel? How do you usually spend valentines day?" she calmly asked in return.

"Well, Gajeel's certainly something special to have to think about…" Levy said with a bead of sweat that quickly went away as she thought about everything that she did for the iron dragon. "There have been times I've tried cooking for him, one time I tried to add iron into it as well with how much he likes the stuff. Of course, I've given him chocolates as that's almost a standard for valentines as well, but other than that…" she said until her face began to get a little flushed as her mind dawned upon the one thing that almost always happened between the pair at the end of the day.

"Levy, are you alright?" Wendy couldn't help but ask as she saw her face getting red.

"Oh, no, I'm alright!" Levy hurriedly replied as she calmed herself down before another thought briefly flashed through her mind.

"I'm sure that it was just a thought of hers Wendy," Mira added on with a smile, knowing things that the younger girl clearly didn't.

"But Wendy, there is one thing that you could try that I'm sure that Nathan would enjoy." Levy then said, catching Wendy's attention before Levy took her hand and placed something inside it.

"Lipstick?" Wendy commented as she held up the small object that she had been given, yet it looked different to any kind that she usually saw in most stores driving her to open it in curiosity resulting in it revealing a brown stick instead of any usual colour.

"Oh, chocolate lipstick!" Mira said as she immediately recognised what Levy had given her.

"That's right, it's the kind of gift that says 'I'm your present'!" Levy said with a cheeky grin whilst Wendy was slowly turning scarlet, her mind automatically thinking of possible situations of her actually trying such things with Nathan rendering her unable to actually respond.

"You know that if Carla was to find out about this she would likely get upset again Levy…" Mira then reminded the bookworm causing a slight hesitance to appear on her face before she soon pushed past it all.

"She's not here now so as long as Wendy doesn't tell her anything then it should be fine. Right, Wendy?" Levy replied as she tried to keep the worry out of her voice whilst turning to the sky dragon, hoping that she wouldn't oust her. Yet Wendy didn't respond at all as she continued looking down at the lipstick with her mind completely filled with various thoughts that drowned out the rest of the world.

'Would… would Nathan really like something like this?' Wendy thought to herself. It wasn't like kissing was something she was against, she enjoyed it and she knew that Nathan did as well, and they had already done it enough that they had gradually grown comfortable with the action, and yet…

'Why does this make it feel completely different?' she pondered to herself, unable to calm her beating heart…

"They're getting really excited about something…" Nathan mentioned it as a simple observation. "They even gave Wendy something, but they blocked my view of it." He said getting Gajeel to grunt in response.

"Seems like they just wanna keep on pushing her into things," Gajeel replied as he lazily chewed on a slab of metal that he likely produced from his pocket before noticing Nathan's expression. "What's up kid? I would have thought you would have been overjoyed about the pipsqueak doing so much for you." He asked with his usual gruff voice.

"Huh? Does something look wrong about me?" Nathan asked as he turned back to Gajeel, not understanding what the older man was talking about.

"You just seemed worried for a moment." Gajeel mentioned as he rested against the table, looking none to caring despite his questions.

"Wouldn't have guessed you to be the caring type either…" Nathan quipped to Gajeel's irritation.

"What is that support to mean?! Just what the hell is your view of me anyway?!"

"That I was wrong." He calmly replied, not at all caring for Gajeel's heated state. "But… I suppose that I'm worried about white day I guess…" he started to answer, getting Gajeel to calm right down as he listened to Nathan's troubles. "We're supposed to give back three times the amount but at this, I can barely think about how I'd pay her back equal, and now Wendy might be trying even more…"

"That's stupid," Gajeel grunted in response to Nathan's shock. "If you're got a girl that really cares about you all that paying three times stuff is a buncha nonsense. Just spend the day trying to make her happy, I doubt the pipsqueak would ever expect that anyway."

"Besides, the day is usually just a perfect excuse to have some fun." He added on before taking another bite of iron leaving Nathan in thought for a moment as he let the advice sink in, not having quite expected the gruff man to actually have some not half bad advice.

"Well, what fun are you talking about? What kind of thing do both of you enjoy?" Nathan then asked with genuine curiosity as he thought about the disparity between the two, not that he had a single thing again them.

"Gehi, you'll learn later." Was all Gajeel replied with as he grinned, laughing his unique laugh as he left Nathan completely perplexed about what about the question he even could have found amusing…

"We're back!" Levy cheerfully announced as the three girls walked back over to the two guys, with mainly Wendy being in a notably different mood than before as her head was still looking down at the ground slightly as she made sure to clench something in her hand.

"Are you done bothering her?" Gajeel asked whilst Levy came background to his side.

"We weren't, we were just giving her a little bit of advice," Levy replied with a confident smile. "Did you and Nathan talk about anything at all?"

"They don't need to hear anything at all," Gajeel responded much to the awkwardness of Levy who gave a tired smile in response.

"Well, there are some things that I've also wanted to do today, are you ready to get going?" Levy then asked whilst Gajeel began to grin in response, following Levy's lead of getting up and walking away from the table. "Good luck!" Levy then called out as she looked back at the younger couple with an almost mischievous look in her eyes before they left the guild.

"What was that about?" Nathan couldn't help but ask after a few moments yet both Wendy and Mira remained silent to his slight bother until he guessed that they didn't know either.

"Well, I hope you enjoy the rest of your day, I'm still working today." Mira then said with an unbothered smile of her own. "Goodbye!" she soon said, making sure to leave before either of them could say anything to stop her.

"Well… what did the two of them want to say to you?" Nathan then asked making Wendy jolt a bit as she began to fumble in awkwardness.

"Umm… they just wanted to know what I did for you today…" Wendy eventually replied as she tied to keep the awkwardness out of her voice as her thoughts continued to swim about to Nathan's confusion until she promptly put on a determined look and shook off her awkwardness. "And they also gave me some idea's as well… but just for later."

"Does that involve the thing that they gave you?" Nathan then asked, quickly shattering Wendy's confidence as she went right back to awkwardness.

"Oh, um… you saw that… well… maybe?" Wendy replied as blush adorned her cheeks again as thought about the possibilities that were presented once again whilst her voice perfectly mirrored the uncertainty she felt towards it still. 'Is it really worth all this worry? What would Carla think?' Wendy couldn't help but think to herself.

Nathan merely watched the spectacle before him whilst his thoughts continued to wonder, however. 'Just what was she given? What is Levy trying to do?' he thought to himself whilst he couldn't help but slightly enjoy the troubled mess that his girlfriend was…

Despite all his wondering and Wendy's reactions, Nathan never managed to find out what the object was, however. Yet despite the fact he never let his curiosity get in the way of enjoying himself for even a moment. The two of them made sure to simply spend their time with one another, doing whatever activities they felt came to mind.

There were still moments as they walked around town or even as they were within shops or cafés where they managed to hear jealous and cheerful comments alike about them yet they made sure to do their best to not let it ruin their day in the slightest, even if it made them feel arguably protective once more…

Before long the day began to turn to night and the two of them returned back home still as cheery as they had begun their day where they finally saw Carla once again, having already split up with Happy and seemingly enjoyed her own valentines as well, not that it made her any more sparing about the teenager's relationship, however…

"You two are still practically glowing I see…" Carla commented with a tired sigh yet she couldn't remove the warm smile from her face as she looked up at the two after having finished their dinner. A meal that Carla couldn't help but notice was completely made with Nathan's tastes in mind, right down to the seasoning.

"A-hahaha… Um, sorry Carla…" Wendy said as she noticed the exceed's discomfort with them.

"No, don't mind me, child. Today is the day for these kinds of things, but I can't say I think I could put up with this for much longer… I'll just go to bed early today." Carla said with a smile that neither Wendy nor Nathan could tell just how much of it was forced or not, yet neither of them had much chance to say anything further as Carla had already sprouted her wings and was halfway out the room, soon leaving the two on their own once more.

"I guess we should be thankful in the morning?" Nathan then mentioned with a shrug of his shoulders as Wendy nodded in response.

"I would like to take the opportunity if she's willing to give it…" She admitted as her voice started to go quiet once more before she hurriedly moved to start cleaning up the table whilst Nathan smiled before automatically joining her, always enjoying every little reaction that Wendy had towards everything.

With Carla gone and it being just the two of them the house quickly started to go quiet with the exception of the sounds of dishes being cleaned, dried and put to the side whilst the couple happily worked in comfortable silence. They had spent the whole day together simply enjoying themselves and had long started to run out of things to say plenty of times during the day, yet they never felt the need to say anything either as they had grown an appreciation of merely being with one another through gentle moments like the one they had.

Even when they finished the dishes, leaving them on the side to be put away at a later date there was still little to no need for communication as they felt themselves naturally heading to the living room and laying down together as Nathan wrapped his arms around Wendy from behind, the two merely wishing to stay like that for a short while…

"Do I use it?" Wendy gently mumbled to herself as she soaked in the bath, having finally separated from Nathan as they agreed to finally go to sleep for the night as their drowsiness was catching up on them. But even as she bathed she had found herself bringing the lipstick with her as she gazed at it across the room where it sat on a shelf.

She had the whole day to try and use it at some point, it would have just been another kiss albeit with a little twist and yet… despite having been told nothing she couldn't help but feel that it was something more.

She was confident that he would enjoy it. It wasn't that she was against it. But something told her that there was something more to it…

"Mmm…" she hummed to herself as she continued to stew over the issue…

"Ah…" Nathan sighed to himself in complete contentment as he sat down on his bed whilst he reflected back on how the had been for him. "I don't think today could have gone much better…" he thought aloud.

'Gajeel said not to worry too much but… how much can I do for white day?' Nathan thought as he allowed himself to fall down onto his bed completely, spreading out wide. Perhaps it was because he was a simple guy but even he felt hard-pressed to come up with things that we would want or enjoyed doing and yet Wendy had somehow managed to bring about the perfect day of nothing but pure enjoyment for him.

"Maybe she's starting to know me better than I know myself?" He couldn't help but guess to himself aloud.

"Nathan?" Wendy suddenly called out to him whilst the door silently opened up.

"Wendy?" Nathan called back, immediately shooting up as he watched her figure enter the room in her pyjamas whilst her hair was flung over his shoulder as she carefully entered the room.

"Um… you don't mind, right? Being together?" She asked whilst carefully walking over to him.

"Not at all…" Nathan replied as he shifted over slightly for her whilst he could make out her smile in the darkness of the room before Wendy finally closed the distance between them, joining him in sitting on the bed. "I mean, it's not the first time now, is it? Although that time was… something…" he mentioned as he was unable to hide the smile on his as he recalled with amusement clear in his eyes, even despite the dark.

"It wasn't my fault! It was… the drinks! It was the drinks!" Wendy argued back in a fluster as contrary to Nathan's amusement she felt nothing but embarrassment.

Said first time having been on Christmas, after a party with their friends when Wendy had merely made the action out of boldness inspired by her still tipsy state. The night had been calm and enjoyable enough for the two yet the morning had held a complete contrary…

When Wendy had awoken at first she had still been rather drowsy and little registered to her but when she couldn't even escape the bed things had begun to change, and upon rubbing her eyes she found out just why that was the case.

She had shouted out the instant she realised Nathan had been sleeping alongside her, naturally waking him up in a heartbeat as he wondered what the problem was, until realising that she was merely reeling in the embarrassment that he had predicted from her the night before…

"It really took a bit of time to calm you down and help remind you of the night before though…" Nathan continued to ruminate on the thought as Wendy turned to tightly clutching onto a pillow to try and better cope with her feelings. "And you won't be like that again?" Nathan questioned.

"Of course not! I'm not drunk now…" Wendy replied. "Do you have to be a meanie about this?"

"Sorry, it's just… I think I like that memory." Nathan admitted with a smile.

"Well, I don't!" Wendy shot back before hurrying under the covers of the bed in search of something to hide with, wanting nothing more than to keep her face from him. For a few silent moments, all Nathan could do was look at the back of Wendy's head whilst she desperately tried to force herself asleep before finally relaxing and getting into bed.

"Wendy…" Nathan faintly muttered whilst she only shifted slightly in response yet it was enough to tell him she was listening. "Thank you for today… and goodnight." He mentioned before closing his eyes, quickly finding far more success that Wendy in drifting asleep…

Wendy on the other hand gently glanced back at his sleeping face with a small smile of her own. "I enjoyed it as well… and goodnight…" she carefully answered him despite his slumber before fumbling with the lipstick that even she didn't know why she brought with her, yet unlike before, it no longer brought her a sense of unrest.

And still, with a gentle smile did she put it aside before moving over to Nathan, soon finding slumber right by his side…

So that is this update done, I'll mention expecting a white day next and then maybe I'll go to doing something along the line of them going to Akane Resort or something perhaps? Honestly, when writing this chapter I felt like I was writing Nathan, Wendy and their relationship to be... well different from usual and not sure how feel about it. If I did then maybe this would have been released sooner.

I would like it if people mentioned how they found this chapter in comparison to how you usually think of Wendy and Nathan getting along so I can have some extra food for thought, but I hope that you all enjoy it nonetheless!
