The members of Sector V were in class talking when their teacher arrived with an unknown kid by her side "Very well class, today we have a new student, please introduce yourself dead" their teacher said while looking at the boy
"It's a pleasure to meet you guys, the name's Daniel, I'm from a nearby town, my father got transferred here for a few months" The new boy said, he had brown hair with green eyes, he wore a green jacket on top of a black shirt and a pair of jeans, he was a very beautiful boy and seemed well mannered
"Very well… Abigail, could you show him around school during recess? Ms Sanban did it last time and it didn't end so well…" her teacher said
"Sure thing" Numbuh 5 smiled at her teacher and then at the boy waving at him trying to be gentle. Class proceeded as usual after that, Numbuh 5 walked with the new boy around the school "And this is the cafeteria, gramma stuffum isn't here today so you are safe" Numbuh 5 laughed
"Thanks" The boy smiled at her "You are very kind, you wanna hang out during lunch?"
Well… I have my friends but… ah, whatever, it's tour first day I don't wanna see you sitting alone" Numbuh 5 shrugged "A day won't make a difference, let me just tell them, go get something for you to eat while that" Numbuh 5 pointed to the cafeteria line and went to her friends on a table
"So you got a New friend?" Numbuh 2 smirked at her
"Don't be a jerk" Numbuh 5 grinned at him and gave him a light punch on the shoulder "New guy hasn't made any friends so far, I'm going to eat with him today, you guys mind?"
"You don't need our permission to eat with other people" Numbuh 4 looked at her while Numbuh 3 hugged him kissing him on the cheek
"Like last time you thought Numbuh 5 was abandoning you guys just because I sat with a girl from the home ec class and you started crying?" Numbuh 5 laughed
"T-That was different!" Numbuh 4 blushed while the rest of the team laughed
Numbuh 1 was looking at his plate "Just be sure to warn him about today's sandwich, who puts onions on a perfectly good sandwich?" Numbuh 1 said while taking a piece of onions from his sandwich
"Leave it to Numbuh 5" Abby laughed as she went over the other side of the cafeteria and sat with Daniel
"You don't mind?" Numbuh 3 looked at Numbuh 2 smiling at him
"Ehhh… a bit, but I won't get anything from being jealous, we aren't even dating" Numbuh 2 said in a relaxed tone as he ate a sandwich
"Numbuh 4 would already be hunting the guy like a mad dog" Numbuh 1 laughed
Numbuh 4 tried to find a retort to that a bit annoyed at his remark but couldn't find any and then shrugged "Yeah, you're right, I would" He laughed while Numbuh 3 giggled at him
"You don't want to confess? It works trust me" Numbuh 1 asked
"I know, I just don't picture she and I together, relax I'm fine with how things currently are" Numbuh 2 laughed
"You are too carefree, what if she starts dating another guy?" Numbuh 4 asked him annoyed at him
"There is no use thinking about this kind of stuff now, look, it's nice of you guys wanting to help me get a girlfriend but these things don't work like that, they just happen" Numbuh 2 said
His three friends looked at him a bit annoyed
Numbuh 2 then turned his attention to Numbuh 5 who was laughing while talking to the new boy, Numbuh 2 just let out a sigh and resumed his lunch
A couple of hours later the team was ready to go home when Numbuh 2 hit his forehead with his hand "I forgot something in the classroom, be right back!" Numbuh 2 rushed inside the school
"Probably forgot to take his homework again" Numbuh 5 shook her head
Numbuh 2 had arrived inside the classroom, the new boy was just leaving the classroom with his backpack on him "Hey new guy, how is the school treating you so far?" Numbuh 2 asked him
"Eh, so far it's okay, the girl that guided me is a looker though" He laughed
"Who Abby? Yeah, she is really pretty" Numbuh 2 sighed a bit lovestruck
"Makes me wonder when I can make my move" The boy chuckled to himself
"Your… Move?" Numbuh 2 looked at him confused
"Yeah, she looks like the kind of girl who gets swayed by the simplest talk" He laughed
Numbuh 2 smiled while looking at him a bit annoyed at his remark "Poor idiot, Guy is going to get his ass kicked by Abby faster than I can warn him" Numbuh 2 thought to himself
"Although she was so forthcoming… is she one of those girls?" Daniel asked
Numbuh 2 frowned at the boy while he fixed his bag, he could feel the rare feeling of his vein on the forehead pulsating "What kind of girl?"
"Oh you know, the kind who dates all boys in school but cheats all of them" Daniel laughed
Numbuh 2 sighed while feeling blood flowing to his head "Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 5 will get so pissed at me" he said to himself
"What do you m-" Before he could say anything more a fist came flying in his direction and hit him straight in the face
"What is taking him so long? How much homework can someone forget?" Numbuh 4 groaned while sitting in front of the school staircase
Suddenly a couple of screams and chatter started as a ton of kids who were ready to get home went back to school "There is a fight? Who is in it?" a boy next to them asked
"Great, Numbuh 4 must have got himself in a fight again" Numbuh 1 sighed
"I'M LITERALLY RIGHT NEXT TO YOU" Numbuh 4 said a bit angry at his remark
"Sorry, force of habit" Numbuh 1 smiled at him a bit awkwardly "Hmmm… the bullies are still in detention at this time of day, who could be?" Numbuh 1 grabbed a boy who was running towards the school and looked at him "Who is fighting?"
"The new boy Daniel with that friend of yours, the fat one, Hoagie" the random boy said as he was released by Numbuh 1
"Hoagie fighting the new boy on his first day? That guy was lying, that doesn't sound like Numbuh 2, it sounds like the kind of thing… That I would do" Numbuh 4 grinned
"Stop fooling around, let's go" Numbuh 1 walked inside the school with Numbuh 5 and 3 following right behind
"Numbuh 4 is right though, that doesn't sound like Hoagie" Abby said while walking the school hallways following the other students
"Numbuh 2 is so calm most of the time, that doesn't make sense" Numbuh 3 said as they squeezed between
"Tell that to him" Numbuh 1 said as he pointed to Numbuh 2 and Daniel who were holding each other trying to push each other suddenly Numbuh 2 headbutted the boy right across the nose making blood fly from his nose as he fell down in the floor holding his face rolling on the floor in pain and then put his feet against the boy's chest looking at him with anger as the boy cried
Numbuh 2 then looked to the side and finally noticed the crowd that had formed, he saw his friends looking at him shocked, Numbuh 3 and 5 were covering their mouths, Numbuh 1 crossed his arms looking at Hoagie with a serious expression, Numbuh 4 looked at him puzzled scratching his chin he was the one who looked less surprised and more intrigued by what led to it
A teacher and a nurse finally arrived on the scene and took the two boys to the infirmary and then to the principal's office, their parents arrived soon after "Would you two care to explain why you were fighting like two neanderthals in a classroom?" Their principal asked both of them with his arms crossed
"He started" Daniel pointed at Hoagie who just sighed trying to calm himself, Daniel had a bag of ice on his nose
"The only thing I will say is that he talked bad stuff about a friend of mine, nothing more" Numbuh 2 said in a calm tone
"You are lucky you have a spotless record regarding this kind of matter" The principal said while pointing at Hoagie "Detention for a month! For the both of you, Gilligan for trying to resolve matters with his own hands in a temple of knowledge and Daniel for instigating it, and on your first day on top of all that, what a shame" The principal said as he send both families off
"I'm sorry about my Hoagie…." Numbuh 2's mother bowed to Daniel's mother slightly
"No need to, I'm sure Daniel has a lot of explaining to do…" Daniel's mother said as she looked at her son with a disapproving look
After both mothers parted ways Numbuh 2's mother took his son inside her car, a few minutes into the trip back home his mother looked at him with a concerned look while her son looked quieter than usual "Sweetie, you wanna talk about what happened?"
"No…" Numbuh 2 said in a depressed tone
"You usually don't fight in school, usually I'm called because you decided to skip class to eat with one of your friends" His mother giggled "Don't be shy, I can keep a secret, what happened?"
Numbuh 2 sighed "You promise not to tell my friends no matter what happens?" he asked
"So it really has to do with them" His mother smiled "I promise, I will buy that booster… motor? Thing you keep asking if I break my promise" his mother
"Booster module mom…" Numbuh 2 sighed "Alright… I was going back to classroom to get a sandwich I forgot inside my desk when…" Numbuh 2 then retold the whole story about what Daniel said about Numbuh 5
"What an ill-mannered young man!" His mother said in an angry tone as she parked the car inside the garage then sighed "That is no reason to resort to violence though dear, I'm glad you stood up for your friend, there are other ways of doing it though" she said as she patted him on the head with a caring look "No yipper cards for a week, I'm not grounding you since you meant well" his mother said while leaving the car
"Well… that went better than I expected" Numbuh 2 sighed and after a few minutes of thinking about what happened then went back to his room where he noticed his mother had really taken his Yipper card deck and laid on his bed looking at the ceiling "Bummer…" He said still a bit depressed at what happened
"It doesn't make any sense!" Numbuh 5 said while laying on the couch looking at the ceiling of their treehouse with a mix of anger and confusion on her face "Numbuh 2 never fought in school, at least not with his fists" Numbuh 5 said
"I never saw Numbuh 2 like that, never saw him get so violent with someone…" Numbuh 3 said while hugging a rainbow monkey with a sad expression on her face
"Calm down you two, he is our friend and we will wait for an explanation, we won't judge a person based just on what we saw, we need to hear the story behind what happened" Numbuh 1 said
Numbuh 4 was sitting quietly on an armchair keeping to his thoughts
"You okay?" Numbuh 3 looked at her boyfriend "You need a hug?"
"I'm fine, I'm really just curious what that boy must have said to make Numbuh 2 so angry" Numbuh 4 said
"You think Daniel said something to him? The boy is as normal as you can get" Numbuh 5 looked at him
"I'm below average on my grades but… I know fighting and I already trained fighting with Numbuh 2, that wasn't normal school fighting or normal Numbuh 2 fighting, that was kinda like what happens when a guy whistles to Numbuh 3 in school and I get suspended for a week because the boy now has nightmares with me" Numbuh 4 said
"I already told you silly, I don't mind, violence isn't always the answer" Numbuh 3 giggled as she got up and hugged Numbuh 4
"I don't doubt Numbuh 2 must have had a good reason to knock the boy out cold, I just don't know what he could have possibly said to make Hoagie so mad" Numbuh 5 said
Then a bright bulb of light appeared on the heads of all three operatives as they widened their eyes "Aaaaaanyway…" Numbuh 1 said "Let's give him some time to rest, he must be exhausted, we can talk to him tomorrow" Numbuh 1 said
A few minutes later, Numbuh 5 was listening to music in her room while the rest of the team was in the living room of the treehouse "New guy said something bad about Numbuh 5 didn't he?" Numbuh 4 said to which Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 3 nodded their heads
"I'm surprised you were this quick to catch on" Numbuh 1 said
"Hey… it's as I said, my grades are bad but I know stuff like this from experience, If I could make Sandy disappear without consequences I would do it in a flash" Numbuh 4 said grinning as he relaxed on the couch
"So what do we do now?" Numbuh 3 asked both of them
"Leave those two alone" both Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 4 said at the same time
"I knew you two would understand" Numbuh 2 had just arrived in the front door
"There you are, You doing ok?" Numbuh 4 asked him smiling at his friend
"Not so much… At one point in the fight I was so mad I didn't even feel pain so I'm feeling all of it now" Numbuh 2 laughed
"You get used to it" Numbuh 4 said laughing with him
"Oh, no way, that was school fighting enough for me" Hoagie said still laughing while rubbing his shoulder feeling some pain in it
"So? What happened between you two?" Numbuh 5 asked she just arrived after noticing an increase in chatter from outside her room
"I… would rather not talk about it" Numbuh 2 said blushing a little as he sat on a couch
Numbuh 5 raised an eyebrow a bit confused "You aren't telling me? Numbuh 5 is your friend, we all are, what is so serious that you cannot share with us?"
"Private matter" Numbuh 2 said "I'm not speaking anything more about it" He said
"And you guys are okay with it?" Numbuh 5 looked at the rest of her team
"It's his life" Numbuh 1 said
"I'm fine with just knowing the new guy is no good" Numbuh 3 said
"He had something suspicious about him anyway" Numbuh 4 said
Numbuh 5 groaned "You guys are unbelievable" She stormed back to her room
"Thanks" Numbuh 2 said
"No problem, it would be for the best if you tell her what happened though" Numbuh 1 said
"Anyway, the new guy is as bad as I'm thinking he is?" Numbuh 4 asked
"He is worse" Numbuh 2 sighed "He said some pretty gross stuff, that's all I'm gonna say"
"We believe in you" Numbuh 1 said "Well… anyone wanna do missions?"
The rest of the team groaned as they walked to the mission debriefing room
After an afternoon of missions, Numbuh 2 was walking with Numbuh 5 to her home "So? You really aren't telling Numbuh 5 what happened between you and the new boy?" Abby asked him while looking at the night sky
"You are still thinking about this? He just got on my nerves that's all" Numbuh 2 said
"I don't believe you" Abby said "I think there is something more to that"
"Like what?" Numbuh 2 asked
"That's what Numbuh 5 is trying to figure out…" She said
"Why do you care so much? It was just a school fight" Numbuh 2 groaned a bit annoyed
"It's not like you to fight in school" Numbuh 5 smiled at him "I wanna know what kind of stupid thing he could have done to make you angry like that" Numbuh 5 grinned at him
Numbuh 2 sighed "Look… He… said a girl I like is an easy girl that dates with all boys in school and stuff… cheats on them and everything, I got mad and punched him on the face, there, happy?"
Numbuh 5 sighed "Well that's a really stupid thing to say" she laughed "Thanks for telling me, who is the lucky girl?"
"You don't know her" Numbuh 2 laughed it off, he was blushing a little
Numbuh 5 looked at him a bit confused but shrugged, she arrived home soon after, that was when the phone in her house started ringing, her father got it "Hello?"
"Hi, this is Daniel's mom, he is a boy from your daughters school, I asked the school for your Number, would it be okay if my son talked with your daughter for a bit, he needs to apologize for something he did today at school?" Daniel's mom said in a bit of an angry stern tone while looking at her son
"But of course, these kids with their fights, and their teasing and oh… you know what i'm talking about, Abigail, it's for you, a mother from a friend in your school wants to talk to you" He said as he handed the telephone to Abigail
"Hello?" Numbuh 5 asked
"Are you Abigail? I wanted to apologize for my son, he said some terrible things about you to that boy he fought today, he is right next to me and wanted to say sorry, isn't that right Daniel?" The boy's mother asked while pinching his ear
The boy quickly grabbed the phone "A-Abby, Sorry about what I said today about you to that Hoagie boy, I was an idiot and I swear I won't do that anymore!" The boy said a bit nervous and then explained what he had said to Hoagie
Numbuh 5 blushed upon realizing she was the girl Numbuh 2 was talking about and sighed "Look… Just say bad stuff to my face next time, alright? Talking this kind of stuff near my friends will only earn you a black eye… and try not being such a jerk next time, aside from that I accept your apology" Numbuh 5 hung the phone "No wonder Numbuh 2 didn't wanna talk about it" She chuckled while blushing with an awkward smile and got up "Dad, i'm going out for a bit" Numbuh 5 said while opening the door to her home
Numbuh 2 had almost reached his home, he walked slowly while looking at the stars smiling to himself whistling "Aside from the fight today was great, Lunch was great and we didn't fail a single mission" Numbuh 2 laughed to himself in a relaxed manner when he heard someone approaching him from a distance
Numbuh 5 was running in his direction she stopped right in front of him panting "My lucky is that you don't run home" she said smiling
"Numbuh 5? Did something happen?" Numbuh 2 looked at her a bit confused
"Daniel's mom called, I know everything" Numbuh 5 said "Why didn't you tell me?"
Numbuh 2 blushed "I just got mad at the guy for saying you were dating with a ton of guys... I thought it would be stupid to talk this kind of stuff"
Numbuh 5 smiled at him "So i'm the girl you like?" she chuckled as she approached him
"Yeah… look, I was taking things easy until that guy appeared, sorry for not telling you sooner" Numbuh 2 said
"That's okay, I took my sweet time as well" Numbuh 5 got closer to him and kissed him on the lips "Better?"
"That felt great…" Numbuh 2 sported a dumb smile while looking at Numbuh 5 "Are we dating now?"
"Seems like it" Numbuh 5 chuckled at him "It's pretty late though, you wanna go somewhere tomorrow after school?" She asked him
"I'm in detention until the end of the month…" Numbuh 2 said
"Don't worry, I will wait for you outside" She patted him on the back
"Huh, Thanks" Numbuh 2 kissed her, they stayed like that for a few seconds and then stopped for a bit, Numbuh 2's wristwatch started beeping them "I have to go, we can talk tomorrow" Numbuh 2 started running back home
Numbuh 5 sighed "I better go back as well…" Abby said as she blushed while walking back home with a dumb smile on her face
