"Is this place really safe?" Sonia asked, they were inside their treehouse that remained unattacked by grandfather
"Moonbase and Arctic fell so… I don't have any better idea" Lee said, they were inside a small locked out room on both sides that had reinforced glass on each side, they were eating candy while holding weapons, suddenly they heard a loud thud outside one of the doors
"BRATS!" A hand burst out from the steel door then they saw the face of a zombified Numbuh 363 outside the door "You two are slacking off aren't you?!" he slowly pried open the door
Lee grabbed Sonia's hand and ran with her through the other door only to be met by Numbuh 85 in his zombified form as well, Lee kicked him away and fled the panic room they were in
Sonia was Led by Lee to a secluded spot in the treehouse, he pushed her inside a room and shot a few laser beams at his former teammates, Sonia ran inside a closet "No… it is dark…" she cried to herself inside the dark closet, suddenly she heard someone quickly entering the closet "Lee?"
"Yeah, it's me, you okay?" Lee asked
"N-No… I'm not okay! This whole situation is terrible I want everything to go back to normal…" she started crying
"Hey… I know this is not the best moment but… would it be alright if we kissed?" Lee asked Sonia
"K-KISS?! Like right here right now?" Sonia's voice was trembling a bit
"It's just… this may be my last chance to confess to you and well…. I really like you a lot…" he said
"I like you a lot as well…" Sonia giggled "Alright…, on three… one…two…" before Sonia could finish the door to the closet they were in was opened, the sudden light made Sonia open her eyes only to see a zombified Lee in front of her smiling
"THREE!" Lee grabbed her head and kissed her as the girl screamed in terror
Several hours later after Grandfather was defeated Sonia and Lee were just finished taking the group picture with the rest of the operatives, Lee approached her from behind grabbing her shoulder, Sonia let out a loud yelp as she turned and saw Lee
The boy looked at her a little confused "You okay?"
"Y-Yeah… I'm just a bit tired" Sonia said smiling at him nervously
"That's Cool, I feel like my bones are still zombified" He laughed while stretching himself
"S-See you tomorrow?" Sonia blushed while looking at him still a bit wary
"Yeah sure, Numbuh 363 already yelled at me earlier before the photo saying we will be cleaning tapioca from the floor tomorrow though" Lee said then waved her goodbye, he met up with Numbuh 85 "Hey, Paddy" Lee said smiling at his Sector teammate
"Hey, Lee What's up?" Paddy asked while carrying a crate full of supplies inside a ship
"Sonia is acting weird, Do you remember anything from when you were a zombie?" Lee asked him a bit worried in his tone of voice
"Nah, one minute I was caught by a few zombies that burst from the floor and the next I was here" Paddy laughed "We were lucky Numbuh 1 saved our bacon, don't you think?" Paddy asked Lee while the boy was silent in his though
"Huh? Oh! Yeah, so lucky" Lee waved him goodbye then went home, he laid on his bed and looked at the ceiling trying to remember anything that happened while he was a zombie to no success, it was as Numbuh 85 had said, he shot at Numbuh 85, was jumped by Numbuh 363 then nothing he sighed
Sonia was in her room chewing her fingernails while passing from one side to another of her room with a mix of fear, worry and deep down a bit of happiness "If the zombie version confessed… Does that mean the normal version feels the same way?!" she said then started scratching her head as she felt blood going to her head, she then sat at her computer's desk and sighed "What am I gonna do tomorrow…?" she asked herself then a message arrived in her computer, it was from her Sector Leader Numbuh 363, Sonia groaned then opened the message
"In case Numbuh 84 hasn't told you, tomorrow we will be cleaning the mess of tapioca the old people made in our treehouse" Numbuh 363 message said
Sonia typed in her computer "He told me, Sir, do you remember anything that happened while we were transformed?" She asked
"No, Why you ask? Please tell me this isn't about something stupid" Numbuh 363 message said
"Not at all…" Sonia completed with some nervous faces "I was just curious how I looked as a Zombie… plus I was really looking forward to showing Numbuh 84 and 85 that video of you singing the rainbow monkey song in your bathtub" she completed the following message with a smiling face
Numbuh 363 stopped typing for a few seconds and stood there looking at the screen then groaned "Who taught her how to blackmail?" He sighed in annoyance then looked at his keyboard with a defeated face "Oh, that's alright, Treehouse has tons of cameras, I'm planning on deleting all that though, we probably look disgusting" he said in his message then followed with a number sequence "Do me a favor and delete all that stuff since you wanna go inside that disgusting place, this is the password for my console" he said before finishing their chatroom
Numbuh 83 wrote down the number sequence and rushed to the treehouse, when she got inside she saw the ceiling, walls and floor dripping with tapioca, she held her mouth a bit disgusted but proceeded to the security room and went over the recordings for that day when she stopped in a recording from the room she was transformed, she saw Numbuh 85 was the one who opened the door and saw Lee kissing her, she was quickly transformed in a zombie then chuckled
"Took you long enough you old sack of prettiness" Zombie Sonia said giggling
"Teasing won't take you anywhere with me" Zombie Lee laughed as they left the closet holding hands
Sonia shook her head as her cheeks started getting red in shame, she passed a few more recordings until she saw her zombie version dancing in the living room with Zombie Lee
Zombie Lee was laughing "Grandfather won't mind if a few soldiers are missing" he said while dancing the waltz with Zombie Sonia
Sonia kissed him at the end of the dance "I love you your old pile of bones" she laughed
Sonia grabbed a trash bin nearby and vomited inside it "I like him but this is too… sappy, even for me" she sighed then started typing a few stuff on the console as she started deleting the recordings from that day one by one
"Sonia?" Lee just opened the door looking at her "What are you doing here?"
Sonia jumped in surprise "Of all the people…" she mumbled to herself a bit angry "Hey… Lee… how are you doing?
"I'm fine, you are the strange one today though, you have a fever? Some operatives made a medical center in the area where Moonbase crashed, you want me to take you there?" He said a bit worried about her
"N-No, I'm completely fine, I'm just deleting some stuff that Numbuh 363 told me, he said it would be gross to see ourselves as zombies" she laughed it off
"Really? I think it would be so cool, it is not every day you can see yourself as a zombie" He laughed "Sorry… must have been terrifying for you" he said a bit embarrassed
"Y-Yeah… it was a little scary" she said then started deleting some stuff
"Hey, that one seems funny though, it has Harvey and Paddy on it" he pointed at a miniature of a recording from the entrance of the treehouse
Sonia shrugged then played it just for fun smiling
"I'm not going to get in trouble with Grandfather just because of those two lovebirds" A zombie Numbuh 363 said to Numbuh 85 as they left the treehouse
Sonia immediately closed the video and deleted it
"Lovebirds?" Lee looked at the screen a bit confused
"Ehh… Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 were here before going to Moonbase to see how things were going" she smiled at him lying through her teeth clearly nervous
"Oh! You heard about that too?" Lee smiled "That was fun to watch, I didn't know all it took for those two to confess was turning into a zombie" Lee laughed again oblivious to what he was doing
Sonia was sweating bullets "Y-Yeah… how crazy is that huh?" she tried laughing it off
Lee looked at her a bit confused "Weird, usually you would be all happy to see someone getting together especially them, you sure you're okay?" Lee asked her a bit worried
"I… I'm just feeling a bit tired…" she smiled at Lee
Lee approached her and put his hand on her forehead "Weird, your face is pretty warm, you sure you're okay?"
"YES!" i'M FINE!" Sonia raised her voice a bit angry then pushed Lee away the boy fell to the floor, she then looked at him "I… sorry" she sighed and helped him get up holding his hand as she blushed
"No… it's fine… I'm the one pushing the issue, it must be annoying… Can I ask you only one more thing?" Lee said a bit embarrassed as well
"Sure, what is it?" Sonia asked
"How did you get transformed?" Lee asked
Sonia froze up at that instant "I… Would rather not talk about it…." she said while she resumed deleting footage now trembling a bit
Lee's expression turned to a grim one "I did something bad to you didn't I?" He asked, now a bit worried "L-Look… If I hurt you I can pay you a milkshake if that's okay with you…" he smiled at her a bit nervous
Sonia sighed then stopped deleting the recordings "You did nothing wrong… If anything you actually did a good thing in a way" she smiled to herself a bit sad
"So it has to do with me" he said "Can you tell me?"
"I… can't" she lowered her head
"I understand…" he sighed "Sorry about it" Lee pushed a yoyo gun from his backpack and shot it at Sonia
Before the girl could react she was completely tangled in yoyo rope, unable to leave "W-Wait!" she said while Lee approached the console
"If I did something I wanna know what it was so I can apologize" Lee said
"We kissed, alright!?" she said as Lee pressed a button on the computer that opened a recording of the two together
Lee stopped and looked at her in shock as the footage played
"These plushies you had when you were young are pretty comfortable, we should kiss on top of them more often" A zombified Lee said
"They are just silly kid stuff now" Sonia laughed then kissed him while they started cuddling
Lee closed the footage feeling grossed out by the scene and deleted it "Now I understand why you didn't want me to see it…" he covered his face while blushing a bright tone of red, he then grabbed a laser weapon on his hip and freed Sonia "Sorry…" he said
"I should be the one saying sorry… I should've told you…" she blushed "After you got transformed you went inside a dark closet I was hiding, you said you wanted to kiss me and… I accepted after you said you liked me" she smiled at him
"Y-You did?!" Lee said a bit shocked
"Yeah… so? Do you like me for real or was it the Zombie talking?" Sonia smiled at him as she got up
"Of course I do!" Lee said in an enthusiastic tone "I love you" he said as he clenched his fist, he seemed ecstatic
"That's great to hear" Sonia giggled then pulled him into a kiss, they stayed in the security room kissing and cuddling for a few hours then after deleting all footage went for a walk outside "I feel so light now that everything is solved" Sonia said while hugging Lee's arm, on the distance they saw Numbuh 363 and 85 walking in their direction
"Huh, I should have figured out it was something like that you were worrying about earlier" Numbuh 85 said a bit unimpressed smiling at them
Numbuh 363 frowned at them only for Sonia to look at him with threatening eyes, he then eased his expression and smiled at them a bit nervous "C-Congratulations" he said
Numbuh 84 and 85 looked at each other a bit confused, Lee and Sonia went on their way after that for the milkshake Lee had mentioned.
