Chapter 12: Have a push pop
Later
Jet was on the couch in front of the TV playing with Mr. Wolf's pet kitty cat. (The same one from the palm tree)
The friendly kitty cat purred and nuzzled against Jet making him smile in awe and delight. Jet hugged the kitty nuzzling it back while giggling a little. As Jet was showering the kitty cat with pets and scratches, meanwhile Diane and the bad guys were sitting around the table near the kitchen area talking. Diane had just finished telling the bad guys all about what happened to Jet and his mom and how she ended up finding him and adopting him.
"And that is how I ended up adopting him as my son." Diane said concluding her story
The bad guys were in deep sympathy for Jet upon hearing the long sad story about him.
"Woah...Now that is just harsh." Wolf said with a compassionate expression
"Poor kid." Snake added
"So he had to steal things in order to survive. Wow. And all this time I thought stealing was only for fun." Piranha said also feeling compassionate
"So that's why he was afraid of me at first. Well I do feel awful bad for the pup. But way to go on adopting him Diane. He deserved it." Tarantula smiled. Tarantula was still wearing her onesie but she had the hood off.
"Yeah congrats. You're a mommy now." Shark added
"*giggles* Thank you guys. I am a proud mommy indeed." Diane smiled
"Well Diane I gotta say I am so impressed. But i'm curious. What made you wanna adopt the little guy?" Wolf asked
"Well I wanted to be his new mom because when I first bumped into him, he saved me from getting nearly struck by a speeding car and I was so grateful for him. Basically he helped me so I wanted to return the favor by adopting him. Also I hate to see him end up in a depressing orphanage. He's such a sweet kid and he deserves better." Diane said
"Well that's very wonderful. And wait you said almost got hit by a reckless driver?" Wolf asked
Diane nodded yes.
"Well if you want we can track em down and Piranha can teach the driver a very good lesson." Wolf said with Piranha smiling isanely showing his razor sharp teeth like he was ready to unhinge
"Oh no no no you don't need to go crazy here. I just have to see about increasing the laws for reckless driving sometime later." Diane said
"Oh alright. Anyways Diane we are very proud of you for adopting the kid. You really moved up another level on being good." Wolf smiled
"What do you mean Wolf? I've always been this good." Diane said
"Well what i'm saying Diane is you went from being the mysterious unstoppable Crimson Paw to a helpful governor. And now you became a pretty sweet angel rescuing a poor innocent soul." Wolf praised with a proud smile
"*giggles* Oh stop Wolf you're making me blush. *giggles*" Diane giggled feeling flattered as her cheeks blushed red through her fur
"Yeah I can see that. Your face is looking a little...crimson." Wolf said
There was 3 seconds of silence until everyone bursted out laughing at Wolf's cheesy pun.
"WAhahahahahaha! Oh that's a knee slapper!" Shark laughed as he fell to the floor
"HAHAHA! CRIMSON! I GET IT! WAHAHAHA!" Snake laughed
Diane giggled hard with her hand over her mouth. From the couch Jet heard the loud laughter going on but paid no mind to it and continued on playing with the kitty. Soon everyone calmed down from the laughter.
"Hehehehe oh good one amigo good one." Piranha said giving Wolf a few pats on the shoulder
"Say Diane I noticed that Jet hasn't called you mom at all. Does he even know you adopted him?" Tarantula asked
"Not yet Webs. But I will tell him soon when the time is right. I want it to be a surprise." Diane smiled
"A surprise eh. Oh I'm sure the kid's gonna be the happiest pup on earth when he finds out." Wolf said
Suddenly a time alarm goes off on Diane's phone. Diane checks her phone and sees it's 7:00 PM. She could also see that it was dark outside the windows of the hideout.
"*gasp* Oh shoot." Diane lightly exclaimed
"Huh? What's up?" Wolf asked
"Sorry guys but I have to start heading home. I gotta put Jet to bed." Diane stood up from the table
"Oh certainly. Shall we show you to the door?" Wolf said
"Oh Jet! Time to go sweetie!" Diane called
Jet heard Diane and quickly said goodbye to the kitty before jumping off the couch.
Wolf and the others walk Diane and Jet to the elevator.
"Well Diane it was great pleasure having you visit. And it was wonderful to meet your little wolf pup." Wold smiled as he exchanged a soft goodbye hug with Diane
"It was nice seeing you two Wolf. Now you guys take good care." Diane smiled
Wolf then kneels down to Jet with Snake slithering forward.
"Hey kid we're awfully sorry to hear what you went through. Just remember we're here for ya and you are one strong little wolf." Wolf smiled warmly while giving Jet a few friendly pats on his shoulder
Jet smiled lightly in response while swishing his tail.
"Here kid have a push pop." Snake holds out a frozen push pop with his tail for Jet to take
Diane and Jet enter the elevator and the bad guys wave goodbye to them. On the way home Jet licked and ate his push pop in the car.
22 minute drive later
Diane and Jet arrive home and enter the house.
"So Jet did you like Mr. Wolf and his friends?" Diane smiled
"Well they did look pretty scary at first...but yes. They are really nice." Jet smiled as he took off his sneakers
"That's wonderful sweetie." Diane said as she removed her high heel shoes
"Umm Diane?"
"Hmm?"
"What do you do for a living?" Jet asked
"Me? Oh well i'm a governor." Diane answered
"A governor?...What's that?" Jet asked
"Well a governor is someone that is head of a state. Right now I am head of California which where we are right now. And I have authority over all the things that operate here." Diane explained
Jet only tilts his head in confusion not understanding half of what Diane said.
"Ok let me put it this way. I'm basically like a boss over where we live. And I control what goes on in it." Diane said
"...So your like...a queen?" Jet asked in his childlike innocence
"*giggles* No sweetie. But you get the idea." Diane smiled
"Are you really a governor?" Jet asked
"Of course. Here let me show you."
With that Diane carries Jet over to the couch in front of the TV. Diane picks up the remote and turns on the TV to a news channel. The news channel was currently showing a recent footage of Diane giving a speech at a press conference with a few cameras flashing at her.
Jet lets out a gasp in sheer surprise. The fox he was seeing on TV was right there with him. Jet looks at Diane with a starstruck expression like a kid meeting a superhero.
"You See?" Diane smiled
"Are...Are you a pop star?" Jet asked again in his childlike innocence
"*giggles* No sweetie but I am well respected and famous so everyone knows about me."
"You...you look so cool!" Jet complimented while smiling in awe
"Awww thank you so much. Now let's get you ready for bed little pupper." Diane said as she switched off the TV
Several minutes later after showering and teeth brushing, Jet walks out of the bathroom wearing his brand new set of pajamas. Jet's pajamas were basic long sleeve button up light baby blue colored with matching pants. Jet goes into the guest bedroom which was well basically his bedroom for now. Diane was sitting on the edge of the bed waiting for him while wearing her own sleepwear. Diane's sleepwear was the same as Jet's except it was grey and made out of soft silk material.
"Are you ready for bed sweetie?" Diane asked softly
"Ummm...I don't know. I don't feel tired yet." Jet said
"Come here. I can fix that." Diane said holding out her arms
Jet goes up to Diane and lets her pick him up onto her lap. Diane holds her little pup close with his head over her shoulder. She begins to slowly rock back and forth while humming a warm lullaby like tune. The warm tender embrace and the warm motherly humming seem to work as Jet was beginning to nod off until falling fully asleep. With her adoptive pup now in beddy bye bye, Diane gently tucks him in the bed before giving him a soft kiss on his face.
"Goodnight my sweet little pup cup." Diane whispered as she switched off the lights and quietly closed the door
