Chapter 16: Fishing for pants
Flashback
"Piranha? Did we forget something?" Tarantula asked suspiciously
"What?"
"The PRESENT! You know." Shark said worringly
"Oh umm..Pffft Course I didn't forget." ... *Fart!*
"You know you fart when you lie right." Tarantula stated
"What no! I fart when I'm nervous!" Piranha denied
"Yeah nervous about lying!"
*GROWL! GURGLE!* "Ohh Sorry!"
With that Piranha lets out a huge fart filling the whole car with his green gas suffocating everyone and making Wolf almost lose control on driving.
*PURRT!*
"PIRANHA!" Tarantula grossed out as Snake and Wolf stick their heads out of the car gasping for fresh air
"I breathed it in!I BREATHED IT IN!" Shark cried out in distress as he stuck out of the sunroof
End of flashback
"and that's why my car stinks." Wolf said concluding his stinky explanation
"...Eeew!" Jet exclaimed as he held his nose
"Yeah Piranha does that a lot and it's pretty much his natural thing. Again I'm totally sorry about that. I really gotta get the seats deep cleaned and detailed." Wolf said with an apologetic smile
Right at the moment, the waitress shows up with Wolf's coffee and Jet's ice water.
"Here's your drinks you two. Now are we ready to order?" The waitress asked as she flipped open her notepad and clicked her pen
"I'll just have my usual T-bone steak meal. And what will you have Jet?" Wolf asked
Jet holds up the menu and happily points at a picture of blueberry pancakes with scrambled eggs.
"Blueberry hotcakes for the little guy." Wolf smiled
"Coming right up." The waitress said before leaving again
While they waited for their order, Wolf and Jet chit-chat nicely together for a few minutes.
"So buddy I heard you went to the doc yesterday."
"Yep." Jet smiled
"Well how'd it go?"
"It was very cool. Except for the shot." Jet said
"Yeah I hear ya. Was the doctor nice?" Wolf asked
"Yes. She was very nice. And pretty."
"Hehehe good for you. That is my most favorite thing about the hospital is seeing all the pretty doctors and nurses. Oh just looking at them is enough to treat any illness in you." Wolf grinned mischievously
Jet only tilts his ears in confusion.
"Uhh forget what I said. You'll understand when you're older." Wolf brushed off
"Okay Wolf."
"By the way how's your head? Is it still spinning?" Wolf asked
"No. I'm okay. I'm not dizzy anymore." Jet said before taking another sip of his water
Suddenly the waitress shows up with their food. Wolf's juicy T-bone steak and Jet's steamy hot blueberry pancakes.
"Woah!" Jet lightly exclaimed upon seeing the wonderful meal before him
"Thank you kindly miss." Wolf smiled
"Let me know if you two need anything." The waitress said before departing again
"Well kid cheers to us. Let's dig in." Wolf said as he clinked his coffee mug with Jet's glass water
With that the two begin eating their delicious meals with forks and knifes savoring every bite.
Later that afternoon
After having their nice lunch at the diner, Wolf takes Jet to a large fishing pier out over the ocean on one of LA's large sandy beaches. They rent two fishing poles and tackle gear before commencing a sea fishing session together with the weather being perfectly sunny and warm for them. Wolf helps Jet bait his hook and gives him a quick casting lesson.
"Alright buddy. When casting, you let go of the line at the swing of your rod and your bait goes flying into the water and you flip the bail back down." Wolf instructed as he stood beside Jet helping him handle his fishing rod with a spinner type reel
Carefully following every step, Jet swings his rod and casts his line over the pier and down into the water smoothly and successfully.
"Nice one kid! Not bad on your first try!" Wolf praised
"Wow this is easy! What do I do next Wolf?" Jet asked
"Well you just patiently sit and wait for that rod to jiggle and then you reel em in! Now it's my turn for me to get my line in the water." Wolf said before grabbing his own rod with a baitcaster spool type reel
Wolf quickly sets up his hook with a bait before taking stance ready to cast into the ocean.
"Alright this wolf is gonna make the biggest cast yet!" Wolf said with determination as he brought his fishing rod way back over his head before throwing it sharply forward when suddenly...
*RRRIP!*
Jet hears the loud rip sound and looks over at Wolf. He could not believe his eyes.
"Hmm is it me or is it getting chilly all of a sudden?" Wolf asked as he felt a breeze on his legs
"Ummm Wolf...your pants." Jet hesitantly pointed out
"Huh? What about them?"
Wolf looks down at his legs and in sheer shock and surprise, he finds his pants were suddenly gone leaving him in his pink boxers with white heart patterns.
"GAH! WHAT THE HECK!?" Wolf exclaimed as he dropped his fishing rod and quickly looked all around for his pants. When Wolf looked down over the side of the pier, he saw his torn off pants were floating in the water slowly drifting away. That's when Wolf realized he somehow hooked his line onto his pants and easily ripped them off casting them down into the ocean.
"Oooooh...my gosh. I think I casted a little too carelessly." Wolf blushed at his own mishap
Jet couldn't help but giggle and laugh at the hilarity of the situation.
"Teeheeheehee! Looks like you caught your pants instead of fish Wolf! Ahahahahahahaha! Teehehehehehehe!" Jet giggled hard with his hand over his mouth
"Yeah yeah har har. Well good thing I never leave home without an extra pair."
Wolf reaches behind his back and out of thin air he takes out a new pair of matching white pants and right away puts them on.
"Huh? Why do you have another pair of pants Wolf?" Jet asked curiously
"Oh well because I had this kind of mishap a few times. So I'm always prepared." Wolf smiled
After slipping on his spare pants, Wolf picks up his rod again and this time he carefully and gently casts his line into the ocean next to where Jet's line landed.
"There we go nice and easy. Now we play the waiting game." Wolf said
But right after Wolf said that, Jet's fishing rod started twitching indicating a bite.
"Oh! Oh! Wolf I think I got one!" Jet exclaimed as he quickly took hold of his rod
"Fish on already!? Reel em in! Reel em in! Don't lose it! Keep your rod up!" Wolf exclaimed excitedly
Jet quickly rotates the crank handle reeling his prize all the way up out of the water and up to the pier. Dangling on the hook was a small mackerel fish rapidly shaking around.
"Woah awesome!" Jet said in amazement looking at his catch
"Well it ain't pretty but it's still a fish." Wolf smiled
Suddenly Wolf's rod also started twitching.
"Woah Mama! One for me two!" Wolf exclaimed as he started reeling his line up
For the rest of the whole day Wolf and Jet have a blast fishing together off the pier with both of them victoriously catching a lot of different fish. As the sun was starting to set, Wolf and Jet do one more final cast before heading home. They both sat patiently with their lines in the water when Wolf suddenly recieved a text on his phone. Wolf takes out his phone and sees the text is from Diane.
"Hey Wolf. Just checking in on things. How's my pup?" Diane texted
"He's having a great time with me. We're out fishing on a pier. Nothing to worry about." Wolf texted back
"That's great to hear. Can you two be back home by six?" Diane asked
Wolf right away checks his wristwatch. It was currently 5:36 PM
"No problem Diane. We will be home before you." Wolf replied
"Wonderful! I'll see you guys when I get home." Diane replied with a heart emoji
Later
Wolf and Jet were now driving back to Diane's house as it was getting dark and the street lights were coming on. Wolf drives the car at a safe casual speed and lets Jet sit on his lap and hold the steering wheel.
"This is so fun!" Jet smiled
"Just keep her steady. You're doing a great job buddy." Wolf praised as he helped Jet steer the car through the streets
Soon Wolf and Jet arrive back to Diane's house right on time at 6:00 PM. While they waited for Diane to come back home, the two wolves play cards on the dining table to pass the time.
Meanwhile
Diane was riding in the backseat of a taxi cab en route back to her house. She knew Jet was going to be thrilled to see her again. Soon the taxi pulls up and stops in front of her house. Diane pays the driver before stepping out and closing the door.
"Phew! What a day." Diane says to herself as the taxi behind her drives off. She was a little exhausted from the long busy day she had.
"I hope Wolf and Jet are doing alright. Gosh these heels are killing me!"
Diane takes off her painful high heel shoes and proceeds to walk up to her house bare pawed.
Inside the house
"Do you have any nines Wolf?" Jet asked
"Sorry buddy. Go fish." Wolf said making Jet take a card from the draw pile on the table
Suddenly the front door opens and Diane comes in.
"Guess who's back!" Diane happily presented herself
Upon seeing her come in, Jet drops his playing cards, jumps from his chair and wastes no time bolting over to her. Diane kneels down holding her arms open ready to catch her pup rushing at her.
"Diane You're back! I missed you!" Jet joyfully bursted as he leaped into Diane's arms
"Hey sweetie I missed you two!" Diane smiled as she tightly hugged her pup
Wolf smiles as he watches the heartwarming moment.
Later
Diane was standing outside the house with Wolf next to his car exchanging goodbyes to each other.
"Thank you so much again for looking after my pup. You really are a good guy Wolf." Diane smiled warmly
"Hey I'm just happy to help. Anything for a sweet motherly fox like you." Wolf grinned while seductively batting his eyebrows
"*giggles* Aw shucks Wolf." Diane blushed
"*chuckles* Well I'll see you around."
"Alright see you later Wolf."
With that Wolf gets in his car and drives off into the night. Diane waves as he departs before walking back into her house where Jet was waiting for her. Once back in the house, Diane scoops up Jet in her arms.
"So Jet did you have a lot of fun with your babysitter?" Diane asked
"Yes! Mr. Wolf is so cool and awesome and funny! And he has a really fast car!" Jet said happily
"*giggles* I'm glad to hear that sweetie." Diane smiled
Jet suddenly lets out a big yawn and his eyes start falling indicating he was getting tired.
"Oh my. Someone is sleepy." Diane said upon noticing
"Yeah. I am *yawn* sleepy." Jet said as he was starting to feel dozy
"*giggles* Well my little pup-tart, let's get you cleaned up and into your nice soft cozy bed." Diane cooed as she carried Jet to his bedroom
Meanwhile at the bad guys hideout
The rest of the bad guys were also playing cards on the table.
"I'm folding." Snake said as he laid down his cards
"I fold two." Tarantula added
"Same for me." Shark said
"Three of a kind for me!" Piranha said as he showed his cards
Suddenly the elevator door opens and Wolf comes in.
"Hey guys! What did I miss?" Wolf smiled making his grand entrance
"AY Welcome back amigo!" Piranha greeted
"Well if it isn't the big bad babysitter!" Snake smiled
"Hey there Wolf!" Tarantula greeted with a wave
"Come join us!" Shark invited
Wolf walks over and sits at the table to join in on the poker game.
"So how'd the babysitting go?" Tarantula asked
"Well it was successful. The kid was happy with me. Took him out for a wild ride, ate at the diner, and fished off the pier." Wolf said with a casual smile
"Well good for you pal. Hey maybe I could make a good babysitter two!" Snake said confidently
"Says the one who swallowed hundreds of guinee pigs instead of rescuing them." Piranha smirked
"HEY!" Snake shouted
