"So, here's what I was thinking, Gramma Stuffum's pickles are actually alive" Numbuh 2 said while eating the same pickles without a hint of disgust on his face
"Let's say it's true, you are eating them why…" Numbuh 5 asked him while looking at him a bit disgusted
"I mean, if I chew them properly they probably die" Numbuh 2 smiled at her
Numbuh 5 paused for a second trying to forget what she just heard, she shrugged and resumed eating her lunch
"By the way… do we have any mission for today? Things have been boring lately" Numbuh 4 turned his attention to Numbuh 1 while he poked his lunch with a plastic fork
"Tell me about it, I was sure Global Command would be calling yesterday… Answering your question, Yes Numbuh 4 we do have a mission but…" Numbuh 1 groaned
"What?" Numbuh 4 tilted his head in confusion "You are angry about a new mission? That's new" He chuckled then proceeded to eat his lunch
"The mission is just a few ice cream men stealing popsicles from kids, I expected something more after two weeks of nothing" Numbuh 1 sighed
"I could go for some butt-kicking today" Numbuh 4 laughed then he noticed a few girls were snickering while looking at him "Hey! What you lot are laughing about huh?"
"Oh nothing, we are just gossiping about the latest breaking news from the school news" The girl handed a newspaper to Numbuh 4
"Now let's see… Huh, Muffy Jenkins really is bad at soccer" Numbuh 4 laughed
The girl groaned "Below that one"
Numbuh 4 turned his attention to a news header that said "Wallabee Beetles and Kuki Sanban finally dating", Wally spat his choco milk in the newspaper then almost choked "Alright I'm getting detention today, going to present the news crew from the school to the Splanker" Numbuh 4 grabbed a Splanker from under the table then got up but was soon stopped by Numbuh 3 who gently grabbed his arm "What? Doesn't bother you those dorks spreading lies"
"It could be just a misunderstanding silly, let's read all of it" Numbuh 3 said with the usual cheerful smile, she was holding Numbuh 4's hand which soothed the boy a little
"Alright… but only because I didn't finish my lunch…" Numbuh 4 grabbed another newspaper from a nearby boy and resumed reading it "Uh… Wallabee Bettles and Kuki Sanban… What is this letter?" He pointed at the Newspaper
Numbuh 5 groaned "It's an Y, gimme that" she grabbed the Newspaper out of his hands "Wallabee Beetles was caught yesterday by an anonymous source rolling in the grass hugging Kuki Sanban, one of the top couples in the school finally seem to have made it official" Numbuh 5 grinned "Hey, they do have proof alright" Numbuh 5 showed a photo of Numbuh 3 on top of Numbuh 4 in an open grass field both of them laughing
Numbuh 3 giggled "See? Just a misunderstanding" She blushed "We were going to the treehouse after I helped him with homework, on the way I started making fun of how ticklish he was and he said how he wasn't" she laughed "Then I jumped him and started tickling him like crazy" she sighed "It was great" the girl whipped a tear from her eye still laughing a bit
Numbuh 4 got on top of a table "Alright everyone, just to make it clear, I'm not dating Kuki, just those dorks in the newsroom trying to come up with something" Numbuh 4 said
His announcement was met with a few disappointed groans from the students followed by whispering then silence
"There we go, that's better" Numbuh 4 said then went back to eating his lunch
Numbuh 3 rolled her eyes a bit annoyed, Numbuh 5 noticed it and gave Numbuh 2 a knowing look both of them sighing, Numbuh 1 had the same reaction as them
The team was walking home from school, Numbuh 4 was talking with the boys while the girls walked in front of them "Can't believe the news guys from school are so desperate to get a scoop that they need to lie like that, should've beat some sense in them…" Numbuh 4 said
"Don't know why you are so mad…" Numbuh 2 grinned then approached Numbuh 4 "It is not like they were not close to the truth" He whispered in his ear
Numbuh 4 pushed Numbuh 2 "Cut that out Hoagie" He said clearly annoyed
"If I didn't know better I would say you think dating me would be a bad thing" Numbuh 3 laughed but then silence followed "Uhhh… this is the part where you say something" she laughed again now a bit nervous
"Like what? Dating a girl is seriously embarrassing, don't you see how we always made fun of Numbuh 1 when he was with crazy Lizzie" Numbuh 4 and Hoagie laughed together
"Thanks for the reminder guys…" Numbuh 1 shook his head giving the two a stern look which prompted the two to stop their teasing
"You can't possibly be comparing me to her" Numbuh 3 took issue with his comment then turned around to face him
"Well I mean… Every girl is at least a little bit crazy, it's a known fact" Numbuh 4 shrugged smiling at her
Numbuh 3 groaned, she grabbed her backpack and threw it at Numbuh 4's face then she stormed off pissed to the treehouse mumbling something angry
Numbuh 4 was laying down on the floor with Numbuh 3's backpack on his face, he pushed it to the side, his face had a few scratches "What's up with her?"
"You are an idiot" Numbuh 5 chuckled while looking at him then headed for the treehouse with the rest of the gang
Numbuh 4 got up and grabbed Numbuh 3's backpack from the floor. He looked at it for a second then sighed "Smells just like her…" He said then headed inside the treehouse carrying both backpacks blushing a bit
Numbuh 3 was laying down on one of her plushies looking at the ceiling "I mean… I didn't know what I was expecting him to say" she sighed
"Boys are idiots" Numbuh 5 appeared right next to Numbuh 3 "The door was open so I let myself in" she chuckled
"The door is always open, it's a curtain" Numbuh 3 laughed smiling at Numbuh 5
"So? Aren't you going to confess?" Numbuh 5 bluntly asked
"I'd rather not being rejected" Numbuh 3 laughed a bit nervous "Yeah… boys are idiots"
"You two are really dense" Numbuh 5 sighed
"What's that supposed to mean?" Numbuh 3 asked
"Nothing, that's something for you to fig-" Numbuh 5 was suddenly interrupted by the sound of someone barging in the room
"Next time grab the bag after you throw it on me" Numbuh 4 threw the bag on top of a couple of plushies his face was red and he had an annoyed expression on his face as he left the room
"I wouldn't throw it on you if you weren't such a dummy!" She yelled "See? Hates me guts" Numbuh 3 chuckled a bit morbidly
"His face was red" Numbuh 5 pointed out
"With anger" Numbuh 3 sighed
"Yeah, you two are really REALLY dense" Numbuh 5 snickered then left Numbuh 3's room
Numbuh 3 got up and grabbed her backpack then hugged it "It got some of his smell…" she chuckled a bit happy, her train of thought was cut short by an alarm announcing a mission "Just my luck…"
The members of Sector V were in the meeting room discussing their mission "It's a simple mission, drive off the ice cream men from the area and hand the remaining ice cream to the children" Numbuh 1 was explaining their mission
Numbuh 2 was fidgeting with a 2x4 console setting something up, Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 were distracted exchanging glances at each other from time to time, both seemed a bit on the edge, Numbuh 5 was looking at the two a bit worried but seemed focused enough to hear Numbuh 1's explanation
Numbuh 1 proceeded to give a lengthy explanation about the mission, the mood of the team didn't change much over time during that"Ahem! What was the mission guys?" Numbuh 1 asked now noticing the team seemed distracted with something
"Stop Ice cream men, give ice cream to kids" Numbuh 5 got up along with the rest of the team and headed for the hangar
"Huh, they were paying attention after all" Numbuh 1 shrugged then headed for the hangar a bit surprised
Inside the Scamper Numbuh 3 was distracted looking at Numbuh 4 while the boy tried to focus on his console "Hey, Is something on my face?" Numbuh 4 asked a bit embarrassed by her staring
"N-No, I was just wondering about something" Numbuh 3 tried laughing it off
"You don't need to apologize" Numbuh 4 said
"Wait what?" Numbuh 3 asked unsure she just heard that
"That backpack didn't hurt a bit, no need to apologize" Numbuh 4 said
"What? No! I don't wanna apologize, you should be the one apologizing! You compared me to Numbuh 1's crazy girlfriend!" Numbuh 3 said now pissed off by him
"I'm right here" Numbuh 1 turned back looking at the two
"I didn't, I just said you girls are all a bit crazy" Numbuh 4 retorted
"Would you two give it a rest? We arrived" Numbuh 2 landed the Scamper near some woods then got out with the rest of the team
Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 were on top of a tree, Numbuh 4 watched the street with binoculars while Numbuh 3 had a radio ready to warn the others
"Are you sure teaming those two is a good idea the way things are right now?" Numbuh 5 looked at Numbuh 1 with her arms crossed
"They can't fight forever" Numbuh 1 said
Abby looked up at the tree "Numbuh 5 hopes you are right"
A few hours passed, both operatives were silent, Numbuh 4 looked at a nearby street while Numbuh 3 tried to focus on the radio and ignore Numbuh 4 "Hey Numbuh 3…"
Numbuh 3 smiled "Yeah?" She answered hopeful the boy would apologize for their fight
"The Ice cream men are coming, go warn the others" Numbuh 4 said
She sighed looking at him kinda disappointed "Sure…" She said then took hold of her communicator "Numbuh 1? The bad guys are approaching…" she sighed
"What is it with you today?" Numbuh 4 asked noticing the girl sounded a bit upset
"I could ask you the same thing, You are acting dumber than usual after that newspaper from today" Numbuh 3 crossed her arms and avoided looking at him
"Am not!" Numbuh 4 yelled at her
"Yes you are!" Numbuh 3 yelled back at him, suddenly her world turned dark, then she came to her senses, she was being pulled from a giant ice cream ball along with Numbuh 4 by Numbuh 2 and Numbuh 5 "I told you guys they were coming!" Numbuh 3 yelled at them
"You two really weren't paying attention, after the signal you were supposed to join the fight!" Numbuh 1 said, he was covered in some ice cream
"We lost?" Numbuh 4 asked
"Eh, we drove them off but lost the ice cream" Numbuh 2 said "You two just took a stray bullet" He said then tasted some strawberry ice cream in Numbuh 4's shoulder "Hm, kinda sandy, not too soft…"
"Probably the Delightfuls and Father cutting costs" Numbuh 5 said then tasted some mint ice cream stuck in Numbuh 3's shirt "Yup, Numbuh 5 knows bad quality ice cream when she tastes one" She chuckled "The kids aren't losing much Numbuh 1" she said
"Let's just go back and reformulate tactics for another time" Numbuh 1 said then went back to the Scamper with the rest of the team
"That wouldn't have happened if you stayed quiet…" Numbuh 4 mumbled
"You were the one who started complaining" Numbuh 3 said while looking out at the window trying to avoid Numbuh 4
"We need to do something about those two…" Numbuh 1 said
"But you said…" Numbuh 2 interjected then looked behind him and started whispering "You said we shouldn't meddle about… you know… them"
"I know what I said, but this is getting unbearable" Numbuh 1 said
"Numbuh 5 is with you on this one…" Abby looked back and saw the two avoiding each other
The team arrived at the treehouse both operatives headed for their rooms furious at each other, they were about to enter their rooms when they heard Numbuh 1's voice over the speakers "Attention, meeting in five minutes!" Numbuh 1 said then the house went silent
Numbuh 4 groaned "Just my luck…"
Numbuh 3 sighed "Just have to ignore him…" She headed for the meeting room, Numbuh 4 was already there waiting for the others "Numbuh 1 is late?"
"He said he would get the others" Numbuh 4 said
"Oh" Numbuh 3 sat on the opposite side of the couch, an awkward silence followed both of them tried to avoid looking at the other but it was inevitable, they would glance at each other from time to time trying to speak up but nothing came
Numbuh 4 finally managed to muster the courage to say something at that brief moment "So I just wanted to say…" before he could continue a loud sound could be heard across the treehouse "What the…" The windows around them started closing abruptly "Lockdown?!" Both of them said, Numbuh 3 rushed for the door but it simply didn't open while Numbuh 4 tried kicking the window but it bounced him right back then fell on his back on the floor "Just my luck…" He said while looking at the ceiling
"Stuck until morning…" Numbuh 3 said "Do you think the others are okay?"
"They can take care of themselves" Numbuh 4 got up then headed for the main console he was sitting on a chair looking at the screen "Hmmm… do you know how to read this stuff?" He said pointing to a green screen with a bunch of code
Numbuh 3 approached his position, she placed her hand on top of Numbuh 4's shoulder then leaned closer to get a look at the console"Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 5 are the only ones who knows about this stuff… not even Numbuh 2 knows the codes" She said a bit bummed
Numbuh 4 was blushing a little bit by how close Numbuh 3 was to him, he could smell her shampoo from his position, her silky black hair was right in front of him right now while the girl tried to read the codes to no avail "Ehhh… Numbuh 3?"
"What?" She looked back at him then noticed how close the two were to each other she immediately backed then grabbed a chair for herself "Sorry…" She lowered her head
"Just… Let's get this thing done" Numbuh 4 tried to focus
"Yeah… You're right, I don't think I can crack the code so…" Numbuh 3 grabbed her communicator "Maybe we can contact them" She tried to call her friends to no avail "Something is blocking the signal"
Numbuh 4 was fidgeting with his communicator but ended up having the same result "Yeah… Stuck here until morning" Numbuh 4 threw his communicator on the nearby meeting couch then rested his head on top of the console
"It's almost dinner time…" Numbuh 3 was sitting on the chair with her feet resting on top of the console looking at the ceiling
"Glad we told our parents we would be sleeping here today…" Numbuh 4 said
"Yeah…" Numbuh 3 said a deafening silence soon followed, the two were deep in thought right now, it went on for a while until Numbuh 3's belly started growling, Numbuh 4 turned his attention to her "S-Sorry…" Numbuh 3 blushed while looking at him very embarrassed
"Hey, relax, I'm hungry too" He got up "Come on, I have a secret stash" Numbuh 4 said
Numbuh 3 was a bit unsure but as soon as her belly started growling again she started following Numbuh 4 to his room, she followed him to the fighting ring bed, it was dark and a red light filled his room "So… What do you have in your stash?"
"Potato Chips" Numbuh 4 grabbed a bag from under the boxing ring and threw a potato chips package to her "You aren't allergic or something are you?"
"Nah but…" She smiled at him "Gimme a second" she climbed down the ring and left the room in hurry
"Great… Did I say something wrong?" Numbuh 4 scratched the back of his head now a little sad but the feeling soon went away as he heard Numbuh 3 climbing back, she approached him with a colorful bag "You are going to throw that at me again?"
"No silly" She laughed "Here" Numbuh 3 took a box of Rainbow Munchies from her bag "I was keeping it for emergencies" she said handing it to him
"Sweet and Salty together?" Numbuh 4 looked at the two packages he had in his hands "I'm in" Numbuh 4 grinned at her then opened the box he took a handful and started eating it
Numbuh 3 took the box from his hands and poured some of it on a bowl with milk she giggled "Dining cereal, Mom would kill me" she said
"The Barbecue chips are great you should give them a try" Numbuh 4 said now with a handful of chips then handed some to her which Numbuh 3 thanked him, when it was all over the two were sitting next to each other laughing together but then… silence, they rested there for some time again with the deafening silence until Numbuh 4 once again took the courage to say something he sighed "Sorry for today, You aren't crazy…" he said looking at the ceiling expecting a giggle from her
Numbuh 3 looked at him a bit surprised, it wasn't like Wally to apologize first "Well… I overreacted about the whole thing, I'm sorry about throwing my bag at you…" She blushed a bit embarrassed now
"Yeah… Didn't hurt that much, it's okay…" Numbuh 4 said
"You know… You ended up not answering my question back then…" Numbuh 3 giggled
"What question?" Numbuh 4 looked at her a bit confused
"Well… Would it be a bad thing if you dated me?" Numbuh 3 slowly approached him bit by bit trying to reach for his hand "You said it was embarrassing but that wasn't what I asked" she said
"Hey, come on…" Numbuh 4 was blushing bright red "Do I really have to?"
"Well… We are alone right now… do you have anything else to do?" Numbuh 3 smiled at him
Numbuh 4 paused for a moment to process the whole thing "Does she…" he thought to himself "I wouldn't mind…" He tried avoiding her gaze
Numbuh 3 stopped approaching "Not what I asked…" She said, her face looked the same as always with her gentle smile but her heart was beating like a jackhammer right now
Numbuh 4 groaned as he finally gave up "It would be great! Alright? There, happy? I like you okay, is that what you wanted to hear?" He crossed his arms annoyed and embarrassed his secret was out
"Just what I needed" Numbuh 3 placed her hand below his chin turning his attention to her, she soon rested her lips against his, kissing sounds could be heard across the room "I love you too… dummy…" Some tears could be seen forming in her eyes
"Hey come on…" numbuh 4 laughed at her "Why are you crying?" He asked then kissed her again
"I'm just too happy!" She hugged him
"You have a nice smell…" Numbuh 4 said as he once again smelled the scent of her shampoo
Numbuh 3 laughed "You do know it's rainbow monkey shampoo right?" She said
"I figured it might be…" Numbuh 4 sighed "They are stupid but… I guess if I'm going to date you I should start getting used to them…" He said with a sad tone to his voice
Numbuh 3 squealed in joy "I wanna tell you everything about them!" Numbuh 3 smiled at him
Numbuh 4 groaned "Don't push it, You take it easy on the rainbow monkeys and I take it easy on calling them stupid, Deal?" He said
Numbuh 3 thought for a moment then shaked his hand "Deal!" she said then laid down with him on the ring , she laid her head on his chest while the boy stroked her hair gently "Do you think the others will be okay with us?" She asked
"They will tease us, that's what they are gonna do" Numbuh 4 said "Well… I don't care that much… I guess" He sighed
"Happy to hear that…" Numbuh 3 giggled then shared another kiss with her boyfriend "Do you like the kissing?" She asked while blushing at him
"I thought it would be gross but they are growing on me" Numbuh 4 said then kissed her back this kept on until the two finally went to sleep
"We should have kept a close eye on them" Numbuh 1 said as they entered inside the treehouse the next morning
"Relax, Numbuh 5 knows they will be fine" Numbuh 5 laughed trying to calm down her sector leader
"Well… it's silent, that's a good sign" Numbuh 1 said
"Maybe they killed each other" Numbuh 2 pointed out
"Why do you need to say the weirdest things?" Numbuh 5 said
"Well, let's search for them" Numbuh 1 headed for the meeting room while the other two split to search around the house, Numbuh 1 approached the command console and noticed they tried a few codes "Huh, not even close" he chuckled then heard his communicator buzzing
"Guys… I found them, you wanna see this…Numbuh 4's room" Numbuh 2 whispered over the communicator it sounded like he was holding his laughter
Numbuh 5 and Numbuh 1 met outside Numbuh 4's room then went inside they climbed and saw a scene they weren't quite ready for, Numbuh 4 was snoring while Numbuh 3 hugged him resting her head on his chest drooling over him both were on their pajamas "This is priceless…" Numbuh 5 had her hand over her mouth trying to contain her laughter then they noticed the two were waking up, Numbuh 5 gestured the two to make silence
Numbuh 3 yawned, she looked at him and giggled "Wasn't a dream…" She kissed him
"Hey come on… It's still morning…" Numbuh 4 laughed then kissed her back, he then noticed a few snickers from afar he pushed Numbuh 3's head aside then looked at his friends watching the two "HEY! PRIVACY MUCH?!" Numbuh 4 got up and went after Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 2 while Numbuh 5 approached Numbuh 3
"Having fun girl?" Numbuh 5 asked Numbuh 3 smiling at her friend
"Yeah… I'm still having a hard time believing this is really happening" Numbuh 3 giggled
A few moments later the whole team was in the meeting room "Wait, You breaking rules?" Numbuh 4 looked at Numbuh 1 a bit surprised, Numbuh 3 was hugging him humming a song
"Hey, Your bickering was compromising missions, I couldn't let that pass" Numbuh 1 shrugged "The lockdown command was necessary"
"Just be glad he didn't give you two an earful" Numbuh 2 said
A week later at school the team was eating in the cafeteria once again, Numbuh 3 was holding Numbuh 4's hand under the table while the boy had his lunch along with his girlfriend
"Alright, Now I wanna see what's your excuse" A girl approached their table along with a bunch of students and showed them a newspaper
"Let me see…" Numbuh 4 stared at the newspaper "It's in another language" He said a bit annoyed
Numbuh 5 hit him on the head "It's upside down genius"
Numbuh 4 turned it upright, the newspaper had a big photo of Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 3 kissing in a nearby park, She was resting her back against a tree while the boy kissed her, and right on top of the photo a title saying"Wallabee Beetles kisses Kuki Sanban"
"So? Gonna deny it now?" The girl grinned at him
"Well… after what happened last week one thing led to another when we talked… Yeah, we are dating" Numbuh 3 giggled and hugged Numbuh 4 in front of everyone in school then kissed him on the cheek
"Wow that's… anticlimactic" The girl left them along with the crowd a bit disappointed the two didn't try denying it
"I'm proud of you two" Numbuh 1 said
"Hey, maybe they can inspire you to confess to Rachel" Numbuh 2 grinned teasingly at his leader
"You had to go and ruin it…" Numbuh 1 sighed while the rest of his team chuckled a bit at his reaction.
