Before Riku and Kairi were ever in the picture, Sora had a special little friend that only he could see and hear. He had named him "Ernie" while the other insisted on being called "Anti-Sora".

Sora had no clue what the word 'anti' meant, but he agreed to call him that anyway. The two of them would tell one another their secrets, or share stories. Sora would even offer him half of his snack, whether it be his favorite type of cookie or ice cream, he would always share it with the other.

Anti-Sora would follow him where ever he would go, and at night he would sleep by his side. Sora would ask the other during the night to protect him from all the monsters that hide within the shadows of his room, and the other would smile and promise to do so.

When Riku came into Sora's life the older boy took a hold of Sora's hand and lead him to a world full of adventures. Sora would smile and laugh as he would follow Riku's lead. Often times he would talk to Riku about Anti-Sora, but he would quickly change the subject to distract the brunette.

When night would fall, Anti-Sora would have Sora all to himself. The boy would chatter away happily towards Anti-Sora about everything, until he would become too sleepy to continue any further. Anti-Sora would smile and watch the sleeping figure, confident that his friend wouldn't forget about him no matter what.

Then Kairi had appeared onto the island. Sora was immediately drawn to the young girl who had mysteriously washed up on the shore of their little island. Kairi, being the sweet young girl that she was easily opened up to Sora, with a cute smile on her face. The two of them would talk and talk and talk, that they would lose track of time.

He would share his secrets to Riku.

He would share stories to Kairi.

When night fell, Sora would no longer talk to Anti-Sora. He would just enter his room and fall into a slumber like any children his age. Slowly but surely Sora started to forget completely about his friend. Yet the other remained, quietly watching Sora age and mature.

He clung onto the hope that one day, Sora would remember it all.

A/N: I swear I should stop calling Anti-Sora "Ernie". Anywho, this was just some idea that popped up while watching Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I used to have one...then forgot about her for the longest time... uh, er, sorry, I'm rambling. SHUT UP YOU!
