Numbuh 1 was in his room resting for a change after a failed mission when suddenly his communicator started beeping "Of all times…" Numbuh 1 groaned then answered "Who are you? It's eleven PM for christ's sake"
"Uhhhh… Nigel?" Rachel was on the other side a bit confused
"N-Numbuh 362?!" Numbuh 1 immediately got up "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to be rude"
Rachel chuckled "At ease soldier, I just wanted to talk to you for a bit, I'm nearby, the playground a few houses from your treehouse, come alone"
"Why the secrecy? Is something happening?" Numbuh 1 raised an eyebrow
"You could say that…" Numbuh 362 laughed
"I'm coming right away" Numbuh 1 left his room, the rest of his team was resting in the living room all of them bummed after a failed mission
"Where you going?" Numbuh 2 asked
"Candy store or a Soda Pub most likely" Numbuh 1 said while putting on a coat
"Alright, be safe" Numbuh 2 said before resting his head against a pillow
Numbuh 1 arrived in the playground, he immediately saw Numbuh 362 on one of the swings looking at the floor, Numbuh 1 approached the girl "What is going on? Is this about the failed mission ?"
"What failed mission?" Numbuh 362 asked
"None, Was just thinking out loud" Numbuh 1 answered slightly nervous
Numbuh 362 chuckled "Don't worry, it's okay to fail sometimes, I'm not here to talk about work though"
Numbuh 1 sat right next to her on one of the swings "Something the matter?"
"Yeah… I wanted to tell you something…" Rachel blushed a bit
"That's alright, if you need to talk about something I'm all ears" Numbuh 1 patted her on the back
"Thanks, the truth is… I was thinking about you recently" Rachel said
"Really? Did I do something?" Numbuh 1 asked
Rachel groaned rolling her eyes visibly annoyed"I will try to be more straightforward, I was thinking romantically about you recently"
"R-Really?!" Numbuh 1 stopped swinging and just looked at Rachel while the girl kept looking at the floor trying to avoid looking at him
"Yeah… I hope you aren't angry" She smiled
"On the contrary, I… After Lizzie I thought about it for a bit but it seemed too impossible, you are my boss so it could be seen as a little wrong professionally speaking" Numbuh 1 was sweating bullets right now
"Look… I wanted to kiss you but I'm not too confident about it… could you close your eyes?" Rachel asked
"Of course, I understand you completely" Numbuh 1 closed his eyes them waited for a kiss
"No wonder she likes you so much, you are such a nice guy" Rachel snickered evilly now
"R-Rachel?" Numbuh 1 opened his eyes a bit confused by the evil sound of her voice but just saw something purple hitting him across the face knocking him out cold on the floor
"Alright, work for the day is done" Rachel was at moonbase sitting on her chair, a pile of documents rested on her table "Wanna go grab something to eat?"
"I still have some decommissioning forms to fill, you can go ahead" Numbuh 86 was at her table focusing on some documents "Oh yeah, I heard from it from someone, Numbuh 1 is around the base" Numbuh 86 smiled at her friend
Rachel blushed "He failed a mission today from what I heard, I should talk to him, see if he is okay"
"Suuure, no ulterior motives right?" Numbuh 86 snickered
"You know we are not like that…" She then left the room after taking a hold of herself the girl sighed just outside Global command room then headed for the cafeteria where she got something to eat then proceeded to find a table, she saw Numbuh 1 eating alone at one of the tables and walked to him "You okay?"
"Sure, Why wouldn't I be okay?" Numbuh 1 asked quite confused
"Well… I heard you failed a mission today" Rachel said
Numbuh 1 paused for a moment "Oh! Yeah, that's right I failed the mission" he scratched the back of his head "It was pretty bad for us, no one got hurt though" Numbuh 1 was sweating bullets while looking at the girl with a nervous expression on his face
Rachel sighed in relief "Thank god, so? What are you doing in moonbase?" Rachel asked
"Actually, I wanted to talk with you" Numbuh 1 said
"Sure, I'm all ears" Rachel said while eating her food
"It would be better if we talk about it in a more private place" Numbuh 1 said
"Oh…" Rachel blushed then smiled at him "Yeah, You are right, lead the way" Rachel followed the boy to a secluded room in the moonbase "Is this it? Is he confessing?" Rachel thought to herself "So… What do you wanna talk about?"
"I have something I wanted to give you, I think you will like it…" Numbuh 1 chuckled then handed her a small present box
Rachel looked at the box happily blushing at it trying to contain herself "Really? Can I open it?"
"Go ahead" Numbuh 1 said while taking a few steps back
Rachel opened the small box which exploded covering the girl in purple smoke, a loud thud was heard soon after as Numbuh 362 started feeling her vision getting dark "Should've… know…" she said while looking at Numbuh 1 smiling at her
Numbuh 1 picked his communicator then called someone "Yeah, it's me… C-Calm down, no need to get mad at me" He cowered a bit afraid of whoever was on the other side "Don't worry, I have an escape route, buh-bye"
"Hmmm?" Numbuh 362 was slowly waking up, the girl brought her hand to her forehead, she had a minor headache after passing out, she started stretching for a bit
"Oh thank god, you are awake" Numbuh 1 said
Numbuh 362 opened her eyes upon hearing Numbuh 1's voice "What's the big idea? Is this a coup or something?" she then noticed she was hanged upside down, a large industrial vat filled with water below them "If this is a joke it isn't funny!" Numbuh 362 started squirming
"Calm down, I'm behind you" Numbuh 1 was right behind Rachel hanged upside down in the same way
Numbuh 362 slowly rotated her body as she dangled by a chain, she smiled at Numbuh 1 who was trying to break the chains "So? Anything I should know?"
"I have a hunch I know who is behind this one" Numbuh 1 said
"Teenagers?" Rachel asked as she started trying to break free from the chains along with Numbuh 1
"Don't think so… This looks like-" Suddenly their talk was interrupted by the sound of a steel door opening
"I see you two are awake" Rachel along with Numbuh 1 smiled at them diabolically as they climbed a set of ladders
"Alright, That's it, I demand an explanation!" Rachel rocked her body forward to get closer to the two impostors "And why are your bangs on the left?"
"Negative Numbuh 362 at your disposal, I don't really have any friends but… they would call me Lehcar"
"Hey! I'm your friend…" Negative Numbuh 1 lowered his head right next to the girl looking a bit unsure what to say
"I thought I send you the report about the negaverse, the one in Numbuh 4's pool" Numbuh 1 said
"That was real?! I thought it was a practical joke from you guys" Rachel said "It sounded like bad sci-fi"
"Such a Nerd, you really are my opposite" Lehcar scoffed "When Negative Numbuh 4 fell and I took the power from this wimp right here I couldn't believe they closed the portal, I spent months searching for another one, until I found this one in an abandoned factory
"Uhhh… I thought you were just my advisor…" Negative Numbuh 1 pointed out a bit afraid from the girl
"Of course… Advisor" She patted him on the head gently then kissed him
Numbuh 1 and Numbuh 362 immediately blushed at the sight they looked at each other then back at the two negative operatives "Y-You guys are a couple?"
"Of course, you don't?" Lehcar chuckled teasingly at the two
"N-NO!" both operatives said then looked at each other blushing "Ahem… We are just friends…" Rachel said while Numbuh 1 nodded both still heavily embarrassed by the situation
"How weird, when I confessed to lure your Numbuh 1 he said he liked me as well…" Lehcar grinned at them
"When I gave the gift to Numbuh 362 she was so happy and flustered, she sure is your opposite" Negative Numbuh 1 started laughing but then was punched by his girlfriend who grabbed him by the ear and dragged him away from the room while mouthing him off
A deafening silence filled the room as both operatives hung on top of the water vat, it took Rachel a few minutes to get the courage to speak "Look… We can talk about this later, we need to focus on getting out of here"
"You're right, but how? They took our comms while we were passed out" Numbuh 1 said
"Hmmm…" Rachel thought it out for a few second, she examined the room and tried to find anything that could work, she then looked at Numbuh 1 and smiled "Your boots"
"Not really the time for fashion" Numbuh 1 pointed out
Rachel groaned "Just click them together" She said
Numbuh 1 smiled at his superior then started his jet boots, it didn't take long for them to melt the chains and free the boy "Alright, just wait a second now…" Numbuh 1 got on top of a platform that sat right on top of them and pulled Rachel up, he then finally fried the girl from the chains by melting them with his boots "Better?"
Rachel looked at her surroundings "Nooot quite" Rachel approached Numbuh 1 then pulled him into a kiss, she hugged him for a few more seconds then parted away from his after hearing a few claps, she turned around only to see Lehcar and Negative Numbuh 1 smiling at them "So, what's the big plan?"
"Well, When I heard I was supreme leader in my word I thought, Why not send the positive me to my world, close the portal forever and become supreme leader, must be fun" Lehcar chuckled
Rachel slowly approached Numbuh 1 again "Should've let her do her thing, less paperwork for me if you think about it, plus I could enjoy it with you" Rachel chuckled
"She would have reactivated the portal on the first day though" Numbuh 1 whispered
"What are you two whispering for?" Lehcar snickered then took out from under her clothes a steel halberd with a spiked ball at the end of it
Rachel took out from under her clothes her yield sign as she frowned at Negative 362
"Be careful" Numbuh 1 whispered
"Don't worry, I have a theory wanna put in practice against her" Rachel grinned at her negative counterpart then jumped at her direction
While that, Numbuh 1 approached his negative counterpart "Soo… Are you two really dating?"
"Well… she gives some good advices, I even managed to be more strict sometimes thanks to her" Negative Numbuh 1 said
"Sounds like she is manipulating you" Numbuh 1 said
"What? No way…" Negative 1 laughed then paused for a second while he watched the two girls clashing "Oh god… you're right!" Negative 1 lowered his head a bit sad, he then lifted his head and left the room
"So, you wanna become supreme leader?" Rachel chuckled while parrying an attack from Lehcar
"Yeah, sounds amazing" The girl said then tried a low swipe with her weapon to trip Rachel who jumped and kicked the girl away "Anyway, how many servants you have?"
"Servants?" Rachel looked at her negative twin grinning at how oblivious the girl was
"Yeah, the name says it all, supreme leader" Lehcar smiled at the girl as she hit Rachel with the spiked ball sending the girl flying against a wall
"Ow… look, I know this may be hard to believe but… supreme leader work in this universe is terrible, we do a game of tag to decide who is it" Rachel shrugged, she then propulsed herself towards Lehcar using her Yield sign, she hit the negative clone twin in the head with a kick then connected with a series of punches from the boxing glove in her yield sign, she pinned Lehcar against the floor "Here, luckily I have this to show you" Rachel pulled from her pocket a small piece of paper, it turned out to be a giant list of duties she had to do the next day which included files, permits, reports and pointless meetings with overseas operatives
"This…. This doesn't make any sense!" Lehcar said as she tried to break free to no avail
"Hey, I don't make the rules here" Rachel shrugged while smiling at the girl "Well, technically I do, but to change them I need to warn the entire global command in 16 different languages beforehand, it's easier just to do my job" She sighed
"Yeah Yeah, your work is hard we get it, lucky for us we aren't like that in our universe" From out of the vat a Negative Numbuh 86 along with the members of Negative Sector V "Just arrest her already" The girl pointed at Lehcar "And you… Next time don't fall for a pretty face understood?" She looked at Negative Numbuh 1 who had his head lowered a bit ashamed
"Could you guys destroy this one when you get the opportunity?" Rachel asked looking at the giant vat of glowing water
"Sure thing, just destroy yours as well for safety" Negative Numbuh 86 along with a few more guards grabbed Lehcar "Can't believe you came up with such a stupid plan"
"But… the name said she was supreme…" Lehcar said still confused by the universe's rules
"Sorry about the trouble, this one is on me" Negative Numbuh 1 approached Nigel who shook his hand
"Don't worry, I know it's hard resisting a pretty face" Numbuh 1 laughed in return then patted his negative twin on the back comforting the boy
"You guys helped us in a way" Rachel wrapped her arm around Numbuh 1 then smiled at his negative counterpart "Now I have a boyfriend you know that?" she grinned at him then kissed Numbuh 1
"You have a what?!" behind them Numbuh 86 along with the rest of Sector V all packing heavy weapons
"You guys are late" Rachel sighed
"We had problems of our own, Negative Numbuh 1 left a giant hole on moonbase to escape, it was hard to organize after that" Numbuh 86 crossed her arms then frowned at Legin
Rachel sighed "Great… more paperwork…"
"Don't worry, I will help you" Numbuh 1 smiled at his new girlfriend and then kissed her as they walked out of the building they were previously locked in
"Alright… Yeah, I accept the help" Rachel blushed while she smiled at her boyfriend happy that everything worked in the end.
