Kairi. They had all changed…
Don't get her wrong, she loved hanging out with the guys. It just got a little… awkward as they got older. When they were younger they never cared if one "accidentally" fell on another and landed in a weird way, or if they just happened to blush everytime they were together. Everything was so much more complicated now that they were older. Hormones and adrenaline constantly plagued them whenever they were together. Like when Kairi would kiss Sora on the cheek when he was sweet. As a younger Sora he would have screamed "cooties!" and spit all over the place even if the kiss was now were near his mouth. Now he would blush as red as her hair and smile in a stupidly cute way. Or when she would throw her arms around Riku when he smiled at her. He would have never hugged her back as a kid, but now when he was a teenager he would hold her tight and most likely pick her up and hold her in the air laughing loudly. They had all changed. But she didn't know to who her heart belonged.
In ways she loved the change, in others she did not. But she was always happy with them, and she knew, at least, that would never change.
Sora. God he loved her…
Just like Kairi he also had different opinions on their growing up. He always had enjoyed when Kairi kissed him even if she didn't know it. But he thought of it differently now. As a young kid he always thought of it as she doing it in a sisterly way. Now… well he didn't know it was… awesome. He was quite sure in the time he had been away he had completely fallen for Kairi but he didn't know if she felt the same. He did notice how she looked at Riku and how he only smiled for her, but he wasn't worried. Riku regarded her like his sister and he knew it. He just hoped he didn't hurt her one day if she did like him. God he loved her. And he would kill Riku if he made her cry.
Riku. I guess I'll always be her big "brother"…
Even when they were kids Riku was always the sensible one getting them out of trouble. One day it was bullies and they next it was rabid dogs. Their problems went all over the place. But he was always there. He was their rock. And even though he cared deeply for them both there was a special place in his heart for Kairi. When she was sad he was always there, when she was angry he was the only one who tried to work it out. He wasn't sure if he loved her but he knew he would always care for her. Through years and years and anything else that would come his way he would always be there by her side to help her. I guess I'll always be her big "brother" and brothers aren't supposed to love. But if that was true he was already breaking that rule.
He would always love her in some was he was sure; he just wasn't sure which way yet.
