Boku no Hero Academia: Izuku's Pet Noumu
Disclaimer: This is a mature-rated fanfiction story of Boku no Hero Academia that I am writing for both fluffy and erotic fun. Needless to say, this story is AU, the characters may seem OOC to some and there will be smutty lemons. Also, I own nothing of the series other than the fanfiction stories that I make.
Chapter 26: Summer Camp (Part 3)
Rappa Kendou stared at Atsuhiro (a.k.a. Mr Compress) with wide eyes and swore, "Holy shit, I didn't know you were with Stain, Long Strider and Blood Monk."
"To be fair, I didn't think that you actually wanted to leave that league of monsters," replied Atsuhiro.
"It took me longer than I'd like to admit to realise that being with them wasn't a good choice," admitted Kendou.
Izuku, along with his schoolmates, the young children and pro-heroes watched the villains warily while Keigo (a.k.a. Hawks) asked, "Why are you here, Stain?"
"We're here to help you protect the students and save the noumus," replied Chizome (a.k.a. Stain).
"Why the fuck should we believe you?" demanded Katsuki who was itching to defeat the villains.
"That's because I'm the reason why the League of Villains are missing two noumus at the moment," answered Atsuhiro while waving his right hand lightly to remind everyone about the two marbles in his hand.
"How can we be sure that those two marbles really have the noumus in them?" asked Sorahiko.
"Normally, I'd just pass the marbles to you and release them for you all to see," replied Atsuhiro who then frowned as he added, "However, as Rappa-san can attest, one of the two noumus is the most powerful in the league's remaining arsenal of 'wilful noumus' and is supposed to act as a 'psychic-type nuker' so I'd rather not do that."
"Wilful noumus?" asked Shino while mentally warning the students with her telepathic quirk, "Don't do anything. The last thing we want is provoking a fight that can be avoided."
Although Katsuki wanted to fight the villains, even he knew better than to disobey a direct order from the pro-heroine during an actual villain attack so he refrained from doing anything in spite of his apparent displeasure. After all, he was already on thin ice with the teachers of U.A. High School and, as much as he hated to admit it, the counselling sessions with Hound Dog together with his recent losses had forced him to reflect upon himself and his supposed "superiority".
"Living noumus who are powerful but difficult to control due to being wilful," explained Atsuhiro.
"How many more wilful noumus do they have and what other kinds of noumus do they have?" asked Izuku who could not help but be worried.
"From what I've gathered, the noumus used for this attack are the last of the wilful noumus. The rest are basically reanimated corpses like the one used to kill All Might back at the USJ," answered Atsuhiro who then warned, "That said, I've heard that the league is close to creating intelligent versions of those 'corpse noumus'."
"Wait, that noumu back at the USJ was actually a corpse?" asked Eijirou who was understandably disturbed.
"That would explain why it didn't respond to pain like a living thing should," thought Shouto.
"I'm assuming that they stopped making more wilful noumus due to recent failures, correct?" asked Sorahiko while thinking, "We definitely need to warn the other pro-heroes about the intelligent versions of the noumu used to kill All Might."
"Basically, yes," confirmed Atsuhiro.
A tense moment of silence passed before Tomoko said, "I think we can trust them, for now. I can sense two powerful life signatures inside the two marbles. One of them is especially powerful."
Although reluctant to trust the villains, the pro-heroes knew that they had every chance to hurt them and the evacuees and yet chose not to do so. Sorahiko turned his attention towards Izuku and asked, "Dekiru, do you think you can do anything to help the noumus in the marbles?"
"That depends on whether the marbles will let me affect their contents," replied Izuku.
"I'm afraid that I can't help to confirm anything about that," said Atsuhiro who was honestly regretful.
"Well, there's a first time for everything," said Keigo as he detached some feathers to collect the two marbles.
Atsuhiro allowed the feathers to take the marbles to Izuku. The boy nodded at the pro-heroes before he closed his eyes and tried to connect to the noumus inside with [Spirit Link]…
--Meanwhile…--
Geten (a.k.a. Iceman) gritted his teeth as he used his quirk to manipulate the ice which had been created by the blue-skinned noumu that the League of Villains had code-named Ogre. Although he could freely manipulate ice and even freeze nearby water sources to create even more ice, he could do little to counter both the powerful gales of wind and the bolts of lightning which Ogre was clearly capable of creating. As such, it was taking everything he had just to keep Ogre focused on with him instead of anyone else from the Splinter Cell team.
Ogre, who was still airborne, easily destroyed one of Geten's massive icy constructs by blowing it away with a powerful blast of wind and electricity. She was about to assist Troll when Geten tried to skewer her with a sharp icicle. Barely avoiding the attack, Ogre growled at him with animalistic anger before she proceeded to fly towards him to tear him apart. Well aware that Ogre would kill him if she got close enough, Geten created a wall of ice between himself and her and then manipulated the icy wall to become a massive lion's head to strike at her. Ogre created a vortex of wind around her fist as she literally punched the ice into pieces while Geten stepped back to gain some distance between himself and her.
Dosu (a.k.a. Sonic Shell), who was unable to attack Ogre due to her ability to redirect his sound waves with her wind, focused his attention towards the red-skinned noumu that the League of Villains had code-named Balrog. He frowned as he realised that Balrog had covered her ears with some soil to act as makeshift earmuffs. Normally, Dosu would still be able to fight with opponents who wore earmuffs due to his ability to channel his powerful sound waves directly into their bodies by punching them. However, punching an enemy with superhuman strength, speed and durability and flaming armour was not exactly a viable as a strategy for most people.
Annoyed by Dosu's attempts to disorientate her, Balrog growled at him before she created a whip of earth and fire. She then lashed at him with her whip with the intention of capturing him. Thankfully for Dosu, Chuu (a.k.a. Tipsy Brawler) made Balrog miss her aim by punching her in the face. Unlike Dosu, Chuu was quite durable due to his ability to strengthen himself by drinking alcohol. Balrog retaliated by punching Chuu hard enough to knock him back. She then wrapped her whip around his neck with the intention of strangling him while burning his neck. Chuu panicked as he quickly grabbed hold onto the flaming whip with both hands to prevent it from strangling him.
Luckily for Chuu, Rinku (a.k.a. Yo-Yo Menace) was able to save him by using his metal-plated yo-yos to hit Balrog's hand, which was holding the whip, with enough force to break her fingers in spite of the armour plating. As Balrog lost her grip involuntarily, Chuu was able to break himself free from the flaming whip which rapidly deteriorated due to losing physical contact with her hand. Balrog growled at Rinku as she created a spear of earth and fire with her other hand before throwing it at the boy. Rinku was barely able to avoid getting impaled by the flaming projectile by deflecting it with his yo-yos.
Initially, Mustard and Saikin (a.k.a. Stink Bomb) were supposed to help the rest of the team. However, they were both knocked out by the giant green-skinned noumu, that the League of Villains had code-named Troll, when she released her powerful breath attack in retaliation to the initial attack caused by Dosu's sound waves. As such, both Zazan (a.k.a. Scorpion Queen) and Ranchi (a.k.a. Switch Hazard) had no choice but to keep Troll distracted with the aid of their enhanced physical abilities. Ranchi, who was initially armed to the teeth, was rapidly running out of ammunitions and explosives as Troll was not only huge and powerful but also regenerated quickly. Not even Zazan's potent venom could do much against the noumu as her healing ability allowed her to rapidly develop a resistance to it.
Suddenly, Ranchi's nose was tickled by strands of her own hair and sneezed thus causing her to transform into a more slender version of herself with blue hair and large blue eyes. Geten, Zazan and Chuu saw the change and immediately thought, "Oh, crap!"
The blue-haired version of Ranchi was confused by her current surroundings before noticing a massive shadow looming over her. Dread filled her heart as she looked up and nearly fainted after seeing the massive green-skinned noumu glaring down at her. Unable to move due to sheer terror, the woman screamed as the green giantess tried to crush her like an ant.
Thankfully for the blue-haired woman, who was clearly a non-combatant unlike her blond counterpart, Troll suddenly shrank. Shocked by the sudden involuntary shrinking, which caused her to become a "short yet stacked" version of her giant self, Troll tried to activate her power again when Sekijirou (a.k.a. Vlad King) restrained her with his blood. Kuugo (a.k.a. Gang Orca) then appeared before her and quickly unleashed a powerful ultrasonic attack to knock her out.
In spite of the powerful ultrasonic attack, Troll was resilient and nearly broke free from Sekijirou's "blood-binding" when Mirai (a.k.a. Sir Nighteye) appeared and hit her forehead with one of his hyper-dense seals while Yawara (a.k.a. Tiger) wrapped his pliable yet powerful arms around her. Although Troll was tough and strong, a powerful blow to the head was disorientating especially when combined with Kuugou's second ultrasonic blast which was a focused into a narrow wave of sound.
Centipeder (Real Name: Moashi Juuzou), who was armed with upgraded versions of ordinary quirk-suppressing handcuffs known as quirk-suppressing manacles, quickly placed the manacles onto Troll's wrists with the aid of his extended limbs. Although unable to make herself grow in size due to the manacles, which also restrained her arms, she was still a dangerous opponent as she still had her innate superhuman strength and durability. As strong and durable as the manacles were, even they would not be able to restrain her for long.
Yuu (a.k.a. Mount Lady) grew to gargantuan size and towered over the trees of the forest. Aware of what Yuu was supposed to do, Yawara threw Troll towards the pro-heroine who then restrained the noumu with one massive hand. With the noumu successfully restrained, the other pro-heroes, including Shouta (a.k.a. Eraser Head) who was responsible for cancelling Troll's ability to become huge, immediately turned their attention towards the other two noumus.
Realising that the pro-heroes had finally arrived, Geten, Chuu, Dosu and Rinku doubled their efforts to subdue the other two noumus. Equally aware of the pro-heroes, Balrog and Ogre tried to attack them to free Troll but were held back by their respective opponents. Seeing her chance, Zazan immediately took Ranchi away from the battle and set off to find both Mustard and Saikin. With any luck, Ranchi's blue-haired form would be able to help the two recover with her healing ability so that they could use their respective quirks to help Splinter Cell escape after the battle was over.
Shouta quickly used his quirk on Ogre so that she would not be able to fly or use her wind, lightning and ice. With her sudden loss of flight, Ogre fell from the air. Before she could hit the ground, Shouta used his capture weapon to capture her and reel her in. Once she was reeled in, Centipeder quickly slapped the quirk-suppressing manacles onto her wrists before she could break free. Yuu then grabbed Ogre with her free hand to restrain the noumu further. The pro-heroine, who had increased strength in her giant form, grimaced as she was barely able to prevent the two struggling noumus from breaking free. Thankfully for her, the noumus could not bite her currently-massive fingers to break free due to a lack of reach since the fingers were wrapped below their chests.
While Shouta, Centipeder and Yuu were subduing Ogre, the remaining pro-heroes charged towards Balrog. Unlike the other two noumus, Balrog was able to realise that one of the pro-heroes could cancel quirks and thus created a massive cloud of dust and smoke to conceal herself by punching the ground with her uninjured hand. The punch also created a massive fissure in the ground, thus forcing her opponents to dodge. Geten, who was no longer engaged with Ogre, turned his attention towards Balrog and did what he felt was logical.
He created a massive iceberg which completely encased the noumu.
A moment of tense silence passed after Geten created the massive iceberg. Both the pro-heroes and members of Splinter Cell were about to assume that Balrog had been successfully restrained when the centre of the iceberg started to glow and cracks started to appear on its surface. Realising what was going to happen next, Mirai yelled, "Everyone, get down!"
A moment later, the iceberg exploded, scattering pieces of ice everywhere. Although the nearby pro-heroes, along with Geten, Chuu and Rinku, were able to avoid getting hit by the pieces of ice, they were not able to stop Balrog from charging towards Yuu. The giantess pro-heroine, who ducked low to avoid the "icy shrapnel" when the iceberg shattered, panicked as she knew that neither her costume nor her quirk were suited to deal with an enemy with superhuman strength that could create weapons and armour from soil and fire.
Acting quickly, Shouta ensnared Balrog with his capture weapon to pull her away from Yuu. Yes, he knew that his weapon would be ruined as a result but a ruined weapon was undeniably preferable to giving Balrog a chance to free Ogre and Troll from Yuu's hands. He then activated his quirk to cancel her ability to manipulate earth and fire.
Roaring in rage, Balrog tore Shouta's already-damaged capture weapon asunder with her raw strength when Mirai appeared behind her and threw one of his hyper-dense seals so that it would hit the back of her head. The blow caused her to stagger thus allowing Kuugou to stun her with an ultrasonic attack followed by Centipeder attaching quirk-suppressing manacles onto her wrists. Centipeder and Yawara then worked together to restrain Balrog. She tried to bite the pro-heroes in retaliation but Shouta quickly gagged her with the remains of his capture weapon.
With the three noumus successfully restrained, Mirai turned his attention towards Geten and asked, "I don't suppose you and your companions intend to stay here and answer any questions, do you?"
A tense moment of silence passed as the two sides did not trust each other before Geten replied, "No, we don't." Geten then noticed that Mustard and Saikin, who had been healed by the blue-haired version of Ranchi, were already in position so that Splinter Cell could escape.
Noticing the two members of Splinter Cell as well, Mirai's frown deepened as he wanted some answers but he knew better than to risk a fight that might end up freeing the noumus. He therefore asked, "Can you at least tell us if you have been fighting with anyone else, who you are and why you wanted to fight the League of Villains in the first place?"
Realising that the pro-heroes were not planning to fight, Geten replied, "There is one more person with them. His name is Sakaki Deidoro and I'm honestly not sure what has happened to him. I won't be surprised if he got crushed by the green-skinned giantess by accident though."
Mirai turned his attention towards Ryou (a.k.a. Hound Dog) who nodded before setting off the find Deidoro. The dog-like pro-hero quickly found the villain who stank of alcohol and, as Geten had presumed, had indeed been unlucky enough to be crushed accidentally by Troll when she grew in size to attack Dosu in retaliation. Ryou almost winced as he noted Deidoro's injuries and said, "He's alive, but he'll need a full body cast to recover from this unless a quirk is used to heal him."
"As for the second and third questions, we're Splinter Cell and we oppose the League of Villains because they give other villains a bad name," explained Geten.
After hearing Geten's second response, Mirai said, "Personally, I'd like to have you lot brought in for questioning as well but we have more immediate issues to deal with at the moment so consider yourselves lucky."
As if to prove Mirai's point, a telepathic voice from a certain pro-heroine named Shino, could be heard by the pro-heroes, "Attention, everyone! The League of Villains has retreated and Dekiru has managed to rescue two Noumus! I repeat, the League of Villains has retreated and Dekiru has managed to rescue two Noumus!"
"So the League of Villains did have a third team waiting for the evacuees," thought Mirai before he replied through one of the walkie-talkies that Momo had made for the pro-heroes, "Understood, Mandalay. We will be heading to your location now, over."
"Don't bother. We're heading back to the facility to help the others take care of that other noumu," replied a voice from the walkie-talkie which belong to Sorahiko who then added, "Trust me, we've just gotten ourselves a whole lot more… help and fire-power than expected, over."
Although surprised by the sudden turn of events, as well as a little concerned about Sorahiko's odd way of speaking that last sentence, Mirai knew that the pro-heroes would not take their responsibility to take care of the students and young children lightly. As such, he replied, "Understood, Gran Torino. We will regroup at the facility grounds. Expect us to bring three captive noumus with us, over." Mirai then turned his attention towards the other pro-heroes in his team who nodded at him before they left with the noumus and Deidoro. Of course, the departing pro-heroes made sure to watch their backs in case Geten and his companions decided to do anything related to back-stabbing.
A few minutes after the pro-heroes had left, Geten said, "Stink Bomb, cover our tracks. We're leaving this place."
"You got it, boss," replied Saikin as he removed the headpiece of his suit to reveal a face with messy black hair, dark skin, bushy black beard, missing teeth and yellowed remaining teeth. He then breathed out to cover the area with a powerful stench that would linger for hours or even days afterwards. Understandably, the other members of Splinter Cell were disgusted at the stench and made a hasty retreat even though they were not being pursued by pro-heroes.
As the members of Splinter Cell made their escape, with Saikin at the rear of the group, Chuu said, "Well, that went rather well all things considered."
Zazan scowled at Chuu and growled, "No, it didn't. My face got scratched by debris when that green over-sized bitch tried to crush me!"
Rinku raised an eyebrow and asked, "Isn't getting crushed to bits worse than a few scratches to the face?"
Zazan glared at Rinku and was tempted to "educate" him when Dosu argued, "He's got a point, you know."
"I'd second that," said Mustard who then grimaced and added, "I'm still not sure if I'm completely healed."
Aware that Mustard and Saikin were unlucky enough to be hit by Troll's breath attack, and how some of their limbs seemed to be bent at odd angles before Ranchi's blue-haired form was able to heal them, Zazan stayed quiet with resigned displeasure.
"So, what's going to happen now?" asked Ranchi who was still in her blue-haired form. Although tired from using her healing ability to heal Mustard and Saikin, who had suffered some rather serious injuries, she was able to keep up with the other members of Splinter Cell. She could rest once the group had reached their destination where their transport would be waiting for them.
It should be noted that Ranchi actually had two distinct personalities with different abilities and even separate memories due to her unusual quirk.
"We'll make our exit before any more pro-heroes arrive," said Geten who then added, "Hopefully, Magne will be able to regroup with us but I doubt it and we can't afford to wait for her."
"Does she know about it?" asked Ranchi.
"Yes, she does and she knows what to do in the event she somehow gets caught or is separated from us," answered Geten.
Little else was said as the members of Splinter Cell continued with their escape…
--Meanwhile, with Mirai's group…--
"Was it wise to let them go?" asked Centipeder.
"Honestly, no," said Mirai who then added, "That said, picking a fight with them would have been risky, at best."
"Considering the fact that we have three noumus and one villain with us, never mind the fact that we need to head back to the facility as quickly as possible, picking a fight with them is simply irrational," said Shouta who agreed with Mirai's assessment.
Yuu, who was still in her giant form so that she could hold onto Ogre and Troll securely, had a sombre expression as she spoke, "Besides, we all know that these girls probably have 'kill-switches' in them which we have to deal with somehow."
"Then we should make haste to help them before the 'kill-switches' go into full effect," said Yawara.
"Agreed," said Kuugou before the pro-heroes in Mirai's team made haste to return to the facility.
While the pro-heroes were making their way back to the facility, Centipeder asked, "So, what are the chances that the added help and fire-power are the rescued noumus?"
Shouta had a deadpan expression on his face as he muttered, "Knowing that problem child's luck, very likely."
--At the facility…--
"This isn't going well, is it?" asked Jin who then yelled, "I'm having the time of my life!"
Nemuri (a.k.a. Midnight) wore a grim expression as she replied, "No, it isn't."
The mass of flesh, which was codenamed Shoggoth by the League of Villains, was not only still fighting but had in fact grown even larger due to consuming nearby organic matter, including the trees around it and even its own dismembered tentacles. Although Jin was able to produce two copies of Wankuro who could be replaced when destroyed, Shoggoth was still very dangerous.
Pixie-Bob (Real Name: Tsuchikawa Ryuuko), frowned as she watched Shoggoth destroy yet another one of her golems. Although the pro-heroine could create a small army of golems, she could not create anything large or powerful enough to successfully subdue Shoggoth even with the help of the other pro-heroes. What was more, Jin and the pro-heroes were reaching their limits.
"Hopefully, whoever or whatever Hawk's group is bringing with them is strong enough to take that… thing down," said Kaoruko (a.k.a. Bubble Girl). Hizashi (a.k.a. Present Mic), whose voice was getting hoarse from overusing his quirk, nodded in agreement with her.
A short while ago, Jin and the pro-heroes received Shino's message about the evacuation team and the evacuees returning to the facility with added help. They were also informed that Mirai's group was returning to the facility grounds with three captured noumus. Needless to say, the pro-heroes at the facility grounds were determined to hold on long enough for help to arrive and defeat the mass of flesh.
"In the mean time, we'll have to stay alive and keep that mass of flesh occupied with us," said Shinya.
Suddenly, Shoggoth stopped attacking the pro-heroes and turned its attention towards Yuu who was visible due to being in her giantess form. It then immediately started move towards her. Realising what it was doing, Pixie-Bob swore, "Shit, it's going after Mirai's group!"
"Then we must keep its at bay!" yelled Crust as he created several barriers to block Shoggoth and even cut it into pieces. However, Shoggoth was undeterred as it literally split itself into two halves. One half continued to move towards Mirai's group while the other half focused on attacking its current opponents.
As the separated mass of flesh made its way towards Mirai's group, Nemuri yelled into her walkie-talkie, "Nighteye, that mass of flesh has split itself into two halves and one half is heading right for you!"
--Back to Mirai's group…--
Mirai frowned as he received the message from Nemuri. He quickly came up with a strategy and said, "Mount Lady, Centipeder, Tiger, Hound Dog, take the noumus to Hawk's group and have Dekiru treat them as quickly as possible. The rest of us will keep that other half distracted for as long as we can."
Yuu, Centipeder, Yawara and Ryou nodded at Mirai before they hastily made their way towards the evacuation group. While the four pro-heroes set off in a separate direction, Kuugo asked, "So, what's the plan?"
"Unless I'm mistaken, that mass of flesh has a transformation quirk which means that Eraser Head's quirk might be able to disable it for a while," said Mirai while adjusting his spectacles.
Shouta nodded and said, "I doubt I'll be able to keep it down for long but I'll do what I can."
Kuugo, who could use his quirk to detect incoming threats through echolocation and keen hearing, growled, "It's not heading for us. It's going after the others."
"Then we'll need to intercept it before it reaches them," said Sekijirou.
The four pro heroes quickly ran towards the piece of Shoggoth which was going after Yuu, Centipeder, Ryou and Yawara. As soon as they saw the growing mass of flesh, Shouta immediately activated his quirk. The piece of Shoggoth shuddered to a halt as though its strings had been cut thus causing it to lay limply on the ground like a pile of boneless innards. Shouta strained his eyes as he tried to keep it disabled as long as he could but he eventually needed to blink and moisturise his eyes.
As soon as Shouta blinked, the piece of Shoggoth immediately attacked the pro-heroes that tried to stop it. Shouta, Mirai, Sekijirou and Kuugo retreated as they knew that their quirks would not help them to defeat the massive noumu. In spite of the danger, the pro-heroes were relieved to know that they had its attention as they led it away from the pro-heroes who were bringing the three captured noumus to Hawk's group. Little did they realise that a small piece of flesh, which was about the size of a small child, had separated itself from the rest of the mass to go after Yuu's group.
--Meanwhile, with Keigo's group…--
"Never thought I'd actually cooperate with Stain and his followers of all people," thought Keigo as he led the group of pro-heroes, students, young children, two recently-rescued noumus and even villains towards Yuu's group. Originally, the group was supposed to head back to the facility building to help the pro-heroes who remained there to deal with Shoggoth but the plan had to be changed due to Shoggoth's ability to split its mass into separate pieces which could act at least semi-independently. Not even Stain disagreed with the pro-heroes' decision to prioritise "fully securing" Troll, Ogre and Balrog before Shoggoth could "free" them. Of course, Shino made sure to quickly inform the other pro-heroes before the group changed its course.
Of the two noumus whom Izuku was able to save, one of them was a slim and lean girl who was about Izuku's age with brown hair, red eyes with black sclera and bony protrusions on her limbs and along her spine. Code-named Ghoul by the league of villains, she was originally planned to be a rage-filled berserker before Izuku was somehow able to save her with a combination of [Spirit Link] and [Promare] followed by [Bio-Repair]. While Bio-Repair and Spirit Link healed her body and mind respectively, Promare was used to actually disable the implants in her body.
As for how Izuku realised that Promare could be used to disable the implants, it involved studying the new limits of the quirk which had been enhanced by [One For All]. After all, if Promare could be used to reinforce an equipment, why not the opposite?
Although Izuku could not use [Promare] to actually destroy anything, he could use it to essentially break and dismantle machinery and electronics by "selectively reinforcing" some parts while leaving the other parts unchanged and vulnerable to damage. The more complex the machinery or electronic device was, the easier it was to break or dismantle them with Promare. Not surprisingly, the implants in the noumus were very complex.
Understandably, Kamina and the other past wielders of One For All were deeply impressed by the unexpected use of the quirk.
Thankfully, the three quirks could be used to save the two noumus that were trapped in Atsuhiro's marbles at the time. On a side note, Ghoul's real name was Kaneki Hikari and she was a runaway from her neglectful relatives who begrudgingly took her in after her real parents died during a villain attack. Not unlike Ningyou, Hikari was captured by the League of Villains after she had run away.
The other noumu, who was a young girl no older then Eri with black hair, grey eyes with black sclera and pale-grey skin, was literally levitating over the ground as she was bare-footed. Code-named Onryo, she was the "psychic-type nuker" whose intended purpose was to unleash powerful psychic attacks that would scatter or destroy everything around her. She could also create powerful illusions, especially ones related to her victims' fears, to sow even more chaos in her wake. Much like Wankuro, she was powerful enough to be easily on par with Toshinori (a.k.a. All Might) if she was not concerned with her own self-preservation. Her real name, as it turned out, was Yamamura Emiko and she had been kidnapped by the League of Villains a year ago due to her unique quirk which allowed her to psychically manipulate her hair like extra appendages.
Tomoko frowned as she spoke, "The mass of flesh has split itself again. It's a small piece but it's going after Yuu's group."
Shino nodded and quickly informed Yuu's group with the help of her quirk, "Please, make haste. A small piece of that mass of flesh is going after you. We'll also send help towards you." She then turned her attention towards Izuku, who was already showing signs of exhaustion due to the strain of saving both Hikari and Emiko soon after undergoing intense training for most of the day, and said, "Dekiru, please go ahead of us and get to Yuu's group as quickly as you can. The sooner you get to them, the sooner we can fully secure the noumus and save them."
"I'll go with the boy," said Sorahiko who then added, "Someone has to keep an eye on him."
"I follow Izu-chan!" said Wankuro.
"Me too!" added Himiko.
"There's no way in fucking hell I'm letting Deku one-up me again," thought Katsuki who then yelled, "I'm going whether you extras like it or not!"
The students, pro-heroes, villains and young children realised that Katsuki's reason to go with Izuku's group was selfish in nature. However, the pro-heroes also knew that the situation had to be dealt with as soon as possible and that an argument would not help anyone so they did not refuse Katsuki's "volunteering" as Shino quickly said, "Then please make haste. I doubt you will have much time to reach them."
Izuku nodded at Shino before setting off to reach Yuu's group as quickly as he could. By using Promare on his shoes, which transformed them into impressive-looking boots, Izuku could run while consistently using 30% of One For All. Sorahiko, who was also fast in spite of his age due to his quirk, was able to keep up with him. Both Himiko and Wankuro were fast on their feet due to their superhuman abilities while Katsuki used his explosions to keep up with the rest of the group. As much as Izuku, Himiko and Wankuro did not like the idea of working together with Katsuki, helping the pro-heroes "fully secure" the noumus was their top priority.
Right after Izuku's group had left, a message from Pixie-Bob could be heard from the pro-heroes' walkie-talkies, "We're falling back. I repeat, we're falling back!"
Shino activated her quirk and spoke to Pixie-Bob's group telepathically, "Understood, fall back to our coordinates at XXXX-YYYY. We'll send help to you." She then used her quirk to speak to the students, young children, pro-heroes and even villains, "Pixie-Bob and the others won't be able to last for much longer against that mass of flesh back at the facility so some of us will have to go and help them."
"I can help to take Pixie-Bob's group away from the facility grounds but my feathers will probably be useless against that thing," said Keigo.
"Then take me with you. My ice and fire will be able to slow it down at least," said Shouto.
"As will my dazzling quirk!" said Yuuga.
"I'm not letting you two from Class 1A hog all the glory," said Neito who then added, "Besides, I can copy your quirks."
Shino nodded at the four volunteers and said, "Understood. Please stay safe."
The four people who offered to help rescue Pixie Bob's group did not need to be told twice as they immediately set off towards the facility grounds. Hawks used his feathers to not only fly to his destination but also help Shouto, Yuuga and Neito keep up with him. After they had left, Shino turned her attention towards the remainder of the group and said, "Speaking of helping Pixie-Bob's group, we need one more group to help Mirai's group while the rest of us stay here to set up a perimeter and protect the children.
"I can use my elasticity quirk to help us reach them quickly and leave just as hastily if needed," offered Danjuurou (a.k.a. Gentle Criminal) who then added, "I can also use it to repel the enemy if needed."
Manami (a.k.a. La Brava) wore a worried expression as she spoke to Danjuurou, "Do you really have to go?"
Danjuurou smiled at Manami and replied, "I have already sworn to help the pro-heroes and their charges. What kind of gentleman will I be if I go back on my word?"
Tears welled up in Manami's eyes as she nodded in understanding and spoke, "Please be safe, Gentle…!"
"Of course, Love-lover," affirmed Danjuurou who was determined to stay safe and return back to Manami's side.
Chizome sighed before he grumbled, "I'll go with the foppish fool. I can't very well stand here and do nothing while he puts his own life at risk."
"As will I," said Dabi who honestly did not care about Gentle or the pro-heroes but wanted to make sure that Stain would survive long enough to ensure that his own personal ambitions would be realised. Besides, it was apparent that some serious "fire power" was needed to take on the "mass of flesh".
"Then I'll go with you three," said Shinji who then added, "Like it or not, you'll need a pro-hero to go with you and prevent any misunderstandings." Chizome and Danjuurou nodded at Shinji as they knew that the pro-hero had a point even though Shino would most likely warn the other pro-heroes about them beforehand.
Danjuurou used his quirk to make the ground beneath his feet extremely elastic and said, "Get on. We must make haste." Shinji, Chizome and Dabi did not question him as they got onto the elastic ground. The group then set off together as the elastic ground launched them into the air. They then proceeded to leap off "platforms" of elastic air made by Danjuurou so that they could reach Mirai's group as quickly as possible.
Shino held back a grimace as she started to use her quirk to telepathically inform the pro-heroes, "To all pro-heroes engaging the enemy, help is on the way. Please hold on until they arrive. Also, we have some villains with us who want to help us so please do not panic when you see them. Dekiru will help to fully secure the three captured noumus so do not let that mass of flesh get to them."
--Elsewhere…--
Shouta's eyebrow twitched as he asked aloud, "Did I just hear that ANOTHER group of villains is helping us?"
"Yes, you did," said Mirai who was already resigned to the fact that the night was even crazier than he had predicted.
"Normally, I would be questioning the sanity of the situation, but I think that can wait until AFTER we survive tonight!" said Sekijirou as the group of four pro-heroes ran away from the growing mass of flesh that was still chasing after them.
Kuugo unleashed another powerful ultrasonic blast to keep the piece of Shoggoth at bay but quickly retreated as its tentacles tried to devour him with fanged maws. He then continued to run along with the other three pro-heroes and said, "At this point, I won't mind receiving help from even the likes of Stain himself."
Yes, Kuugo was arguably tempting fate that night.
--Meanwhile, with Yuu's group…--
"Ohshitohshitohshit! OH! SHIT!!!" thought Yuu as she ran away from the rapidly growing mass of flesh as quickly as she could while Ryou, Centipeder and Yawara rode on her shoulders. She was still in her giantess form and was holding Ogre and Troll captive in her hands while Centipeder and Yawara held onto Balrog.
The piece of Shoggoth initially tried to use stealth to sneak up on the group of pro-heroes but quickly changed its tactics when it realised that the pro-heroes had somehow discovered its presence. Understandably, the pro-heroes decided to escape with the hope that whoever was coming to help them would be able to at least keep the piece of Shoggoth at bay while Izuku fully "secured" the captured noumus.
Thankfully, help soon arrived as Izuku, followed by Sorahiko, Wankuro, Himiko and Katsuki, appeared before the pro-heroes. Immediately recognising the threat, Wankuro and Himiko charged forward to attack the enemy. Wankuro breathed out a massive torrent of crimson flames while Himiko flew over the mass and unleashed an ear-rupturing shriek. Both attacks were effective as the mass of flesh was effectively immobilised for a moment.
Katsuki smirked as he saw the stunned mass of flesh and unleashed a powerful explosion while yelling, "DIE!" The resulting explosion was powerful enough to burn off a whole chunk of flesh, thus stalling it even further. However, the mass of flesh was undeterred as it quickly consumed nearby trees and even burnt portions of its own flesh to heal and regrow. In spite of the situation, Katsuki smirked as he continued to unleash more powerful explosions to "put that freak in its place". After all, he was facing a powerful enemy whom he did not need to worry about holding back to prove his worth by fighting an actual villain unlike the time when he had his internship with Best Jeanist and the time when he was unaware of the I-Island incident. The fact that the villain was an unwilling weapon did not really register in his mind as the noumu was undeniably powerful, durable and simply too dangerous to face without using extreme force.
Taking advantage of the situation, Izuku rushed towards Yuu. Aware of what Izuku was about to do, she immediately lowered herself so that Izuku could use his quirks on Ogre and Troll. Both Yawara and Centipeder leapt off Yuu's shoulder so that Balrog would be placed near Ogre and Troll and Izuku would treat the three noumus in rapid succession.
Izuku's whole body was covered in green flames and electrical sparks as he proceeded to use Promare to effectively disable the implants in the three noumus' bodies. He then used Spirit Link to help calm them down…
--Meanwhile, in a certain mind-scape…--
"Here they come!" yelled Daigorou as three figures started to form before the Izuku and the former wielders of One For All. Aside from Toshinori, who could not do anything due to being essentially an ethereal phantom, and the First Holder, who lacked any fighting ability due to both his sickly original state and the fact that his only ability was to pass on his quirk to another, the rest of the wielders were ready to fight with everything they had in spite of appearing obviously worn out.
Much like Promare, Spirit Link had been strengthened by One For All to the point that Izuku could form a link with multiple people quite effectively. However, the downside was that Izuku would have to somehow calm down three badly traumatised minds which, unlike the time when he used Spirit Link during both his internship and his time on I-Island, were full of destructive rage. In fact, Izuku and the former wielders of One For All were nearly overwhelmed by Emiko's raging mind when they tried to save her and Hikari before they were able to calm down their rage and eventually heal not only their bodies but also their minds. Granted, Emiko's quirks gave her powerful mind-related abilities but it did not change the fact that it took the combined efforts of Izuku and the other past wielders to stop her and Hikari from killing them.
Balrog, Ogre and Troll soon appeared before Izuku and the former wielders of One For All. The three noumus immediately saw them as targets and tried to destroy them. Troll grew to her gargantuan size while Balrog covered herself in flames and Ogre formed vortexes of wind with sharp icicles that sparked with electricity.
Izuku, along with the other previous wielders, did not waste any time as they quickly took action. Yuusuke immediately started shooting bolts of energy from his index finger at Ogre while Nana leapt into the air with the help of her floating ability so that she could deliver a powerful punch at Troll's face. Black whip-like tendrils emerged from Daigorou's arms so that he could capture Balrog with them.
Nana's punch was powerful enough to make Troll stagger while her head spun. However, Ogre was able to quickly dodge Yuusuke's bolts of energy and immediately tried to attack Nana before she could strike Troll again. Fortunately for the former pro-heroine, Izuku suddenly appeared before Ogre. With his shoes enhanced by his own version of Promare, he delivered a powerful kick with 45% of One For All to not only deflect Ogre's attack but also knock her back with a powerful shock-wave.
Angered by the interruption, Ogre quickly created two vortexes of wind which were charged with powerful bolts of electricity. Before she could attack Izuku though, Yuusuke interrupted her by trying to shoot her down. Forced to deal with two opponents at once, Ogre was soon too preoccupied to handle anyone else.
Balrog, who was already trying to burn herself free from her restraints, was punched into the ground by Tsunade who could use her original healing quirk to negate the damage caused by getting her hand burnt. The powerful punch was strong enough to form a crater in the "ground" beneath Balrog. In spite of Tsunade's powerful attack, Balrog was able to breathe out a torrent of flame which almost burnt her as she barely dodged it. Balrog then broke herself free from her restraints.
Kamina, who was wearing bandages on his hands and forearms, activated his quirk so that they would become reinforced gauntlets. He grinned as he charged towards Balrog and proceeded to punch her rapidly. Thanks to the quirk-reinforced gauntlets, his arms did not get burnt in spite of the flames covering Balrog's form. Annoyed by the attacks, Balrog tried to attack the blue-haired man with flame-wreathed claws.
Suddenly, long black hair emerged from the ground to ensnare the three noumus. The hair originated from Rei whose hair and eyes currently matched with Emiko's. Since Spirit Link allowed Izuku and Rei to be "spiritually bonded" to someone and even communicate through telepathy, it made sense for Rei to make up for her lack of a combat ability by letting Emiko use her as a link so that she could use her powers freely while inside Izuku's mind-scape. Of course, Izuku and the other previous wielders of One For All made sure to inform Emiko of their intention to have her mind linked with Rei's.
As for why Izuku did not simply ask Emiko to come along to help save the other captured noumus, part of the reason was that she was arguably the best defence to protect the remaining students and young children from any further attacks from the League of Villains.
Both Troll and Balrog were quickly ensnared by the hair while Ogre tried to fly away from it. However, Saitama suddenly appeared before Ogre and, with a punch that had been empowered by years of existing as a vestige within One For All, he managed to bring her down with a single hit. Not surprisingly, Ogre was knocked down into the ground and the resulting impact resulted in a deep crater. Black hair quickly enveloped Ogre, thus restraining her as a result in spite of the fact that she had already bee defeated by Saitama.
Balrog, who could cover herself in flames, immediately tried to burn herself free from the black hair. However, the hair did not burn easily and more hair soon emerged to restrain her. As Balrog was struggling furiously at the time, she nearly failed to notice Kamina and Tsunade getting ready to attack her together. In spite of her efforts, she was unable to avoid getting punched by both Kamina and Tsunade with enough force to defeat her.
Troll, who was simply too large to be completely ensnared, tried to tear herself free but was soon interrupted by Daigorou who used Black Whip so that he could reel himself towards Troll and punch her in the face. Daigorou's punch was soon followed by a blast of energy from Yuusuke and an overhead kick from Nana. The three hits on the head were powerful enough to defeat Troll in spite of her enlarged size and enhanced durability.
Thankful that the three noumus had calmed down, albeit through admittedly violent means, Izuku approached them so that he could heal their minds. Rei, who was still linked to Emiko, also approached the three noumus to help Izuku save them.
The First Holder smiled at Izuku as he thought, "Never have I though that we would end up helping out our successor like this."
"I hate to break your bubble, but we still have one more noumu to save and I don't even have a clue on how to start saving her," said Saitama who wore a concerned frown while appearing next to the First Holder.
"I know, but there's no denying that this attack could have turned out a lot worse than it is now," replied the First Holder.
"Considering how brutal that 'mental fight' with Yamamura-kun and Kaneki-kun was, I'm not one to disagree," said Saitama who shuddered at the mere memory of the recent fight with Emiko and Hikari. Even though Emiko was too enraged to use her powers creatively and Spirit Link was surprisingly effective in dispelling her psychic illusions while fighting inside the mind-scape, she was powerful enough that nearly every wielder of One For All had to fight her together to take her down while the rest dealt with Hikari. Although not as dangerous as Emiko, Hikari was still a difficult opponent due to her speed and ferocity while striking with bony blades and spikes. Had Emiko and Hikari fought against the students and pro-heroes as originally planned by the villains, they could have done a lot of irreparable harm to their victims and opponents.
While Izuku and Rei started to heal the three noumus' minds, Saitama asked the First Holder, "Speaking of saving the noumus, is it just me or have those villains not done anything about making sure that we can't save them?"
"So you've noticed as well," said the First Holder. It was one thing to successfully save Emiko and Hikari but having an actual chance to save the other noumus should not have happened. After all, the First Holder knew his villainous elder brother well enough to know that One For All would have immediately terminated the noumus as soon as the original plan had failed even if only to spite the heroes who wanted to save them.
"You think something has happened on their side?" asked Saitama.
The First Holder almost smiled as he replied, "Given what has already happened so far, I'm willing to say that it's certainly possible."
--Some time ago, in a certain bar…--
"Damn it all to hell!!" yelled Tomura who was currently using his quirk to destroy a counter. It was already bad enough that the League of Villains had suffered such a terrible setback due to having TWO separate traitors but the fact that the implants, which were supposed to kill the noumus by command when needed, could not be activated only made the setback even worse. Knowing the pro-heroes, "reformed noumus" and hero-students, they would find a way to somehow save at least a few of the noumus before the implants could kill them via automatic activation.
In theory, letting the noumus rampage instead of killing them immediately would have allowed them to at least cripple a few pro-heroes or even hero-students. Also, the implants, which were powerful micro-explosives which could destroy the noumus' brains completely thus making it basically impossible to heal them, would have activated on their own within the hour even without outside input. However, considering the previous losses and the fact that the League of Villains had just been sabotaged by two traitors, Tomura was understandably unwilling to take the risk.
Unfortunately for the League of Villains, the activation of the implants could not be carried out due to something jamming the activation signal. In fact, the jamming also affected Tomura's ability to get in touch with All For One, Hari (a.k.a. Chronostasis) and the Doctor. Given the fact that the two traitors, namely Kenji (a.k.a. Magne) and Atsuhiro, had been with the League of Villains for days at least Tomura quickly assumed that they or their associates were responsible for the jamming.
Kurogiri, whose warping ability was unaffected by the signal jamming, soon appeared before Tomura and reported, "Sensei has decided that we must make a tactical retreat and leave this bar. Once I've warped all of you to a safe location, I will be using my quirk to help Sensei relocate the rest of our assets to elsewhere before our enemies can strike us."
Tomura scratched his neck in aggravation as he growled, "Well, let's get going already! I'm not staying to find out if those bastards are 'spawn killers'!" The remaining members of the league did not argue as they followed Tomura to their next hideout with the aid of Kurogiri's quirk. Little did they realise that they were already being watched by a member of the Meta Liberation Army.
The member, who had been observing the bar for the past few days with the aid of binoculars which had thermal vision, took out a specially-made communication device that could function in spite of the signal jamming and reported, "The League of Villains has left the bar."
"Understood. I trust that the tracking beacon is with them?" said a voice that belonged to Tomoyasu (a.k.a. Skeptic)
"Affirmative. However, there's no guarantee that they won't take steps to get rid of any potential tracking devices that they may have with them once they reach their destination."
"That's of little consequence," said Tomoyasu who then said confidently, "We have teams stationed throughout Japan. Unless they leave the country entirely, they won't be able to stay hidden indefinitely."
"What of the true leader and his scientists?" asked the member.
"They will be dealt with in due time. For now though, we'll focus on taking down Tomura and his gang of miscreants," replied Tomoyasu who then said, "In the meantime, I want you to remain in your station in case they return to the bar to collect anything."
"Understood," replied the member who knew that he was going to stay in his current position for a few more days at least.
--Back at Izuku's location…--
Izuku opened his eyes and smiled kindly at Ogre, Troll and Balrog who looked as though they had finally awakened from a horrible nightmare. Their eyes were filled with tears as they accepted the realisation that they were finally free. The touching moment was short-lived though as Izuku soon wore a grim expression as he knew that there was one more noumu to rescue and spoke to the pro-heroes, "Everyone, I'm going to save the last one."
"No offence meant, but I doubt that… thing will let you help it," said Sorahiko who then grimaced as he observed the ongoing fight between Shoggoth with Wankuro, Himiko and Katsuki and added, "Honestly, I'm not even sure if it has an actual human brain."
"She does," Izuku said with certainty in his voice before he explained, "I managed to find out that much from Emiko. However, finding that brain will be the real challenge."
"Wait, that's a 'she'?!" yelled Yuu who was shocked by the revelation.
"That still doesn't solve the issue of getting close to her without getting killed as a result," said Yawara.
"Not to mention we're not even sure if this mass even has the brain or not," said Ryou for frowned in frustration due to being unable to do more to help.
Suddenly, to everyone's surprise, Shoggoth suddenly went limp as though it had been paralysed…
--Meanwhile, with Mirai's group…--
Mirai, Kuugo, Shouta, Sekijirou, Shinji, Danjuurou and Dabi stared at the paralysed piece of Shoggoth in complete utter bewilderment before Dabi spoke to Chizome with a deadpan expression on his face, "Not that I don't appreciate it, but your quirk's ridiculously strong."
Chizome, who licked Shoggoth's blood after slicing off a tentacle that had tried to devour him whole, almost looked sheepish as he replied, "I honestly didn't think it would work that well on that massive shape-shifter."
Although Dabi could burn people to ashes with his blue flame and Danjuurou's ability to create literal barriers of elastic air were undoubtedly useful against Shoggoth, there was simply no denying that Chizome's ability to paralyse people by licking their blood was useful in containing the threat.
Kuugo, who would have died had the "reinforcements" not arrived in time to protect him, thought, "Well, I'm certainly not complaining!"
"So, does anyone have ANY idea how we're going to save this one?" asked Danjuurou.
Sekijirou scratched the back of his head as he admitted, "Your guess is as good as mine."
Thankfully, a voice could be heard from the pro-heroes' walkie-talkies as Centipeder's voice spoke out, "Sir Nighteye, did one of the villains paralyse the mass of flesh? Over."
Mirai picked up his walkie-talkie and confirmed, "You can say that, over."
"If that's the case, please inform the villain to maintain that paralysis until further notice. Dekiru claims that the noumu has a 'true-brain' and believes that he can save her as long as he somehow finds it, over," replied Centipeder.
"Understood," replied Mirai who then turned his attention towards Chizome who nodded in understanding. The last thing the pro-heroes and their villainous allies wanted was the noumu going on a rampage again.
Luckily, Shoggoth's "true brain" was in the mass of flesh which went after Yuu's group so Izuku was able to quickly disable her implants and heal both her mind and her "true brain" which comprised of a human brain encased in a bony shell with an armoured spinal cord. After the mass of flesh had been saved, the pro-heroes, students, young children, recently-rescued noumus and even villains returned to the facility grounds.
--A short while later…--
"I REALLY hope our insurance will cover this…!" groaned Shino after getting a good look at the ruined building which used to be the facility building where the students had been staying in since the first day of the summer camp.
During the fight between the piece of Shoggoth and the pro-heroes who stayed at the facility grounds to stop her, the building had been literally smothered by the noumu. When Keigo, Shouto, Yuuga and Neito arrived to help the pro-heroes escape, their first instinct was to somehow slow down the growing mass to flesh with a lot of fire, ice and laser beams. Not surprisingly, the facility building was badly damaged as a result although none could blame the three students for doing what they could against the mass of flesh that had covered the thankfully-empty building at the time. Besides, there was a high chance that the mass of flesh had already damaged whatever was inside the building by the time Shouto, Yuuga and Neito started working together to slow it down so holding back was not necessary at the time.
"If it makes you feel any better, I'm sure that U.A. High School will be willing to help with the reconstruction efforts," offered Shouta.
Shino smiled gratefully as she replied, "Thank you for the offer, Eraser Head." She then noticed the comically shocked and depressed air around the majority of the students and added, "You might want to worry about your students though."
Shouta rolled his eyes and argued, "They could have lost a lot more than just their personal belongings tonight so I'm sure that they'll live through this."
"That may be true, but not every non-living is readily replaceable," argued Anji who knew that non-living objects could hold great sentimental value.
Aware of Anji's past, including how he used to work as a humble and gentle worker at an orphanage before it got burnt down by some teenagers who wanted to terrorize the "villainous offspring" inside the building, Shouta knew better than to disagree with the man. After all, the tragic villain had lost basically everything and everyone he loved in the fire.
"That's right," agreed Manami who then asked, "What if their phones had pictures and videos with sentimental value that had not been backed up yet?"
"Not to mention that not all of us are filthy rich," added Jin who then yelled, "I'm the richest man alive, baby!"
Rappa, who wanted to turn himself in so that he could have a chance to spar with Izuku and any other strong opponent, pointed his thumb at Jin while asking Keigo, "Is he always like this?"
"From what I've heard from the others, pretty much," answered Keigo.
"My argument still stands," said Shouta who then turned his attention towards Chizome and said, "Are you certain that you and the rest of your brotherhood won't consider turning yourselves in? We can offer all of you a chance to work for us at U.A. High School in return for your aid, cooperation and peaceful surrender."
Chizome shook his head and said, "As tempting as the chance to mould the next generation to true heroes is, I doubt that the general public and the government will appreciate someone like myself working at your school. Besides, the League of Villains is still at large and you'll need as much help from the 'other side' as you can get."
"That much I will have to admit to agreeing, unfortunately," thought Shouta who then said, "At the very least, we need a way for both parties to stay in contact somehow."
"Well, there's the 'Gentle Video' account on 'Youtube'," said Danjuurou who then winked at Shouta and Chizome while adding, "You can send private messages to the account if you need to inform us of anything and La Brava can help to make private video recordings to inform you about anything that we wish to inform you."
The pro-heroes and villains stared at Danjuurou with surprised expressions before Chizome sighed and grumbled, "As much as I hate to say this, it's not the worst idea as long as long as we agree to ONLY use it for information that we can afford to be exposed to the general public, be it intentionally or not. The only other option I can think of is getting in touch with you through the official email and telephone number of U.A. High School."
"That rat is going to have a field day with this. I just know it," groaned Shouta as he could already imagine Nedzu taking advantage of having a connection with "villainous allies".
"Well, now that we've pretty much settled everything here, including making sure that all the kids are safe, I think we should leave before the rest of the authorities arrive," said Mumyooi (a.k.a. Long Strider).
"Agreed," said Chizome who then turned his attention towards Fuun.
Fuun nodded at the villain before she activated her quirk while saying, "Well, see you all later and… JINX!"
In a flash of pink light, the villains from the Brotherhood of Shadows were turned into bats and then flew away.
Mirai resisted the urge to sigh as he knew that he and the other pro-heroes should not allow the villains to escape unopposed, especially the likes of the infamous Hero-Killer: Stain. However, their top priority was protect the students and young children and, like it or not, the Brotherhood of Shadows had played an important role in helping them.
"Excuse me," said Itsuka as she and Tenya approached the pro-heroes before asking, "What's going to happen now?"
"For now, we wait for the authorities to arrive, tell them what we know about the situation and make arrangements to head back to the school dormitories," said Sekijirou who then added, "Don't be surprised if the authorities decide that everyone should quiet about the identities of the villains who have helped us, especially the ones from Stain's group."
Tenya and Itsuka nodded at the pro-hero before turning their attention back to their peers, the young children and the noumu-girls. Although the villains' attack had failed and everyone, including the recently-saved noumu-girls were safe, they knew that the night was still far from over.
About fire minutes later, the police, fire fighters and paramedics arrived and the students had to remain at the ruined camp site for another hour before they could return to U.A. High School. Understandably, everyone was exhausted and slept like logs after reaching the dorms and making sure that the disabled implants had been safely removed by Chiyo and her team of doctors. Even the pro-heroes were exhausted and were all too happy to spend the night at the staff dorms to get some much-needed rest.
Kendou, who was turned himself in willingly, was brought to a mid-security prison so that he could be questioned further. If all went well, he would be given a chance to work as U.A. High School before long.
--The following afternoon…--
News of the attack at the summer camp, as well as the recent revelation that a pro-hero who worked at U.A. High School had been working as a spy for the League of Villains, soon spread across Japan. Needless to say, reporters and journalists from every news agency in Japan tried to get answers from the staff and even the students from the school. After all, not only did the villains attack during the summer camp but the attack failed because the villains had their own traitors as well. The idea of certain villains becoming allies with heroes, even if only temporarily against a common enemy, was simply too "juicy" to resist. That was not even counting the fact that a former member of the yakuza willingly turned himself in after he got separated from his fellow members of the League of Villains as he did not want to remain with them.
Thankfully for Izuku, his schoolmates from the hero course, the noumu-girls and the young children, they were already inside the school grounds by the time the reporters and journalists crowded around the school gate. The same could not be said about the pro-heroes though as they had to hold an official conference to explain the situation to the public. Denki, who was relaxing in the common room with his classmates, the students from Class 1B, the young children and the noumu-girls, grimaced as he saw the crowd at the school gate on television and said, "Man, I didn't think our summer camp would end like this."
"Honestly, I'm just glad that everyone is safe in spite of everything that happened yesterday," said Izuku who was currently petting a small dark-purple blob which was on his lap and had a surprisingly cute girlish face with yellow cat-like eyes.
It should be made clear that the blob was Shoggoth's true form after she had been healed by Izuku.
Based on what Izuku was able to find out about her past through Spirit Link, the girl was tragically rejected by her own parents due to being born as a constantly-shifting blob of flesh. That rejection made her a tragically easy victim to be claimed by the League of Villains to be turned into a noumu. In fact, she was the youngest of the noumu-girls as she was even younger than Eri. How she was able to remain even functional in spite of whatever horrifying treatment she had undergone spoke volumes of both her resilient physiology and her will which had been strengthened by a copy of Wankuro's [Indomitable Spirit]. As Shoggoth never had a proper name for herself, Izuku decided to name her Sakino. Not surprisingly, Inko quickly decided to adopt Sakino as her daughter.
As for Ogre, Troll and Balrog, they were originally orphans who lived at the same orphanage before they ran away and ended up getting captured by the League of Villains. Ogre's original name was Tora while Troll's original name was Midori and Balrog's original name was Rika. Much like Sakino, Tora, Midori and Rika were quickly adopted by Inko.
Yes, the idea of someone being named Midoriya Midori did not escape Mina, Tooru and Setsuna's notice.
Of course, both the police force and the pro-heroes at U.A. High School made sure to inform the public about the four new noumu-girls currently living in the dorms with the students whom they were supposed to attack the day before. Nedzu, who knew how it was like to be treated as a lab subject, not only took part in the public announcement to assure the public that the new noumu-girls were not threats but also made arrangements so that Inko could adopt them and receive the necessary support.
"Speaking about the summer camp, have any of you ever wondered why the 'wilful noumus' are all girls?" asked Juuzou.
A moment of surprised silence passed before Eijirou replied, "Now that you have mentioned about about it, I don't think we've ever thought about it."
"Maybe their mad scientist has a fetish for monster girls?" suggested Minoru.
"That… sounds more logical that I want to admit," said Kyouka who could not help but shudder at the idea of an evil mad scientist who was also a disgusting pervert. Many other female students had similar reactions.
"It could be an issue of 'quirk-rejection'," suggested Izuku who then explained, "After all, organ rejection is a commonly-known fact and the idea of actually implanting quirks from one person into another has been, up until recently, considered to be impossible." Mentally, he added, "Never mind concepts like creating copies of a quirk, quirks that allow one to permanently steal other people's quirks and quirks that grow stronger by being passed down from one user to the next."
"So, a gender-specific implantation issue?" asked Kousei.
"Pretty much," answered Izuku who then added, "After all, all of them have copies Wan-chan's quirk which must have a strong effect on the hosts' minds."
"It certainly makes sense," said Tenya who then added, "It would also explain why the League of Villains have never tried to turn other villains, including villainesses, into wilful noumus."
Izuku nodded and said, "Wan-chan has always wanted to be a hero and hated bullies so I can imagine anyone with an evil mindset suffering negative side-effects from having even a weakened copy of her opposing willpower implanted into them."
"On the other hand, having that copy of her quirk has not only made the wilful noumus more able to endure the burden of having multiple quirks but also made their minds at least resistant to trauma that would have broken just about anyone else," said Momo who had a thoughtful expression on her face.
"Hence why even Sakino-chan has not been completely broken or driven insane even after everything that she has suffered," said Itsuka. Sakino trembled at the mere reminder of her past mistreatment and Izuku made sure to comfort her by petting her.
"It might also explain why those villains even tried to make wilful noumus in the first place," said Shouto who then added, "After all, if they could get it done right, they would have gotten the means to create a literal army of noumus which can challenge All Might himself individually and are smart enough to at least act semi-independently."
All the students who were not noumu-girls shuddered collectively as they did not even want to imagine such a horrifying scenario. Even the young children, who were relaxing in the common room with the hero course students, also shuddered as such a scenario inevitably meant creating an army of abused children who had been forced to become villainous monsters against their will.
"L-let's just hope that what Stain's group have said about the League of Villains giving up on creating more wilful noumus is true," said Nirengeki.
"Speaking of Stain's group, does anyone have idea about that other group, Splinter Cell, kero?" asked Tsuyu.
"I tried to find some information earlier this morning but I haven't gotten any luck so far," said Izuku who then added, "They might a new group much like Stain's Brotherhood of Shadows which has only been fully revealed to the public recently."
"Still, it's quite unexpected that so many villains actually want to stop the League of Villains," said Ochako.
"To be fair, not all villains think that it's okay to do something as unmanly as turning young girls into disposable weapons," said Eijirou.
"Some of Stain's followers certainly don't seem to be the type to agree with such unmanliness," said Tetsutetsu. Indeed, Fuun, Danjuurou, Manami and Anji certainly did not seem to agree with the cruel idea of turning unwilling girls into disposable weapons.
"In other words, a lighter shade of black," said Shihai.
"A lesser evil who seeks to stop a greater evil," agreed Fumikage.
"A possible chance of redemption in the eyes of heaven perhaps?" wondered Ibara.
"Or perhaps a way to finally be free from the haunting ghosts of the past?" suggested Reiko.
Suddenly, the entrance into the dorms opened as Shouta entered the building together with Sekijirou, Nedzu, a woman in a white dress with pale skin, grey eyes and black hair and a bespectacled man with brown hair, yellow eyes with black sclera and a goatee.
Emiko, who had been contentedly napping in Tsuyu's arms after having a hearty meal prepared by Lunch Rush with everyone else, suddenly opened her eyes as though she had sensed someone important nearby. She turned her attention towards the woman and the man and realised that they were her parents, Yamamura Kayako and Yamamura Samu. Tears welled up in her eyes as she immediately used her quirk to launch herself into her parents' arms and hugged them tightly. Both Kayako and Samu had tears in their eyes as they hugged Emiko in return and were overjoyed by the fact that their daughter, who had been missing for a whole year, had finally been found and rescued.
Nearly everyone smiled as they watched the touching reunion. One of the few people who did not smile was Kouta who had a conflicted expression on his face as he wondered, "Is this… why heroes do what they do…?"
Normally, Kouta would coldly dismiss pro-heroes as people who simply wanted to make themselves look good either by appealing to the public or by defeating villains to gain fame. However, even he could not ignore the fact that a girl had finally been reunited with her family partly because of Izuku wanting to save her as a genuine hero. Kouta clenched his fists as he thought, "My parents died to help others… to help other families. Does wanting them to live make me a bad person then?" Although Kouta was reluctant to open himself up to anyone, he knew that he needed to talk to someone and, thankfully, Shino was still around so he could talk to her later.
The other person who did not smile, Katsuki, huffed softly as he left the common area and went back into his room. As he returned to his room, he recalled how Izuku comforted Emiko and Hikari, followed by Sakino, Midori, Rika and Tora, with gentle kindness after they had been rescued. Although the prideful boy hated to admit it, their wails and sobs of being finally released from their torment was unlike anything he had ever faced before and he simply did not know how to respond to it in any way other than "harshly".
For all his life, Katsuki had been praised by many other people for being strong, determined, talented and smart. Looking back, the blond boy realised that not even his most ardent sycophants of supporters, or Izuku for that matter, had ever used one adjective to describe him: kind.
Katsuki gritted his teeth in anger as he finally understood one reason why he was not yet ready to be a pro-hero. Intellectually speaking, Katsuki knew that heroes were supposed to not only defeat villains but also protect and save people. However, no matter how hard he tried to deny it due to his pride, he simply could no longer ignore the gap between what he intellectually knew and what he truly understood about protecting and saving people. The fact that he used to look down on others and even mistreat them, including Izuku, only made the gap all the more obvious.
Realising the gap also forced Katsuki to realise one other "disturbing truth". Although the blond boy was still certain that there were other people more suitable to receive whatever quirks Izuku had somehow managed to receive, he could no longer deem Izuku as the worst possible candidate other than actual villains. In other words, Izuku was not only no longer useless after receiving a quirk, he was in truth probably never truly useless to begin with. After all, even Katsuki intellectually knew that one did not need a quirk to be capable of genuine kindness.
The idea very that Izuku was never truly useless, regardless of whether or not he had a quirk, made Katsuki want to vomit or destroy something explosively. He barely even realised that he was shedding tears as he slammed the door into his room shut so that he could sulk in his room instead of dealing with the rapidly-changing circumstances of his life which was most certainly not going the way he had envisioned for years. Alone in his room, which had more All Might merchandise than what nearly all of his classmates had expected, Katsuki proceeded to lie on his bed to wonder, "How the fuck did my life turn out like this…?"
Little did Katsuki, as well as everyone else in the dorm building at the time, realise that the world was about to experience a truly massive event that would change it forever.
--End Chapter--
Author's Notes:
Sorry that it took so long to get this chapter done. I had to reread and rewrite sections of the chapter a few times and I'm still worried that it is not as good as it could have been. After all, I can already imagine some people thinking that I've missed a few awesome fight scenes in this chapter. That said I have no intention of writing them down at the moment as I want the story to progress. Besides, I want to cover not only the immediate aftermath of the summer camp attack but also this story's version of the "Kamino Incident" and its aftermath. Trust me, if I get the "Kamino Incident" part done right, it will be epic.
Speaking of late updates, I've just read Chapter 304 of the canon manga and, I have to say, it is certainly an important chapter to read if you want to learn more about the canon effects of One For All. That said, my story is AU so it may not end up using the recently-revealed canon elements of One For All.
Plans for future updates aside, here's the list of the new noumu-girls:
[Sakino] (Noumu Subject: Shoggoth): She is essentially a black and purple mass of amorphous flesh with yellow cat-like eyes, tentacles and lots of teeth. Due to her amorphous nature, she can freely transform her body into any body part that she desires. She is also capable of assuming a humanoid form, including disguises through shape-shifting. In truth, she is actually the youngest of the noumu-girls as she is even younger than Eri. She is also a powerful regenerator, which makes her especially difficult to defeat, can secrete a powerful acid to melt down any organic matter and can even split off portions of herself to act as semi-independent units. Only her "true brain", which is basically a brain encased in a bony shell with an armoured spinal cord, is vulnerable to damage although it is possible to weaken her by reducing her total biomass with a lot of fire. Freezing her solid is also effective although her ability to generate high body heat limits its effectiveness. Using her transformation abilities exhausts her and makes her hungry. Her hunger makes her lose her self-restraint. (She was born as a constantly-shifting mass of flesh even before she was turned into a noumu and was ultimately rejected by her own family as a result) (She likes to make herself look like a young maid or nun and considers Izuku, who is the first person to show her genuine kindness, as her 'papa'.)
Yamamura Emiko (Noumu Subject: Onryo): She is a young girl no older then Eri with black hair, grey eyes with black sclera and pale-grey skin. She has powerful psychic abilities which include hair manipulation, telekinesis, mind-reading, illusions and even mind-control. However, due to being too dangerous when fully unleashed, most of her power has to be restrained even when in combat. Without her psychic powers, she is no stronger than a normal human girl. That said, she can be used as a "psychic" nuke". Using her psychic abilities causes her terrible headaches and can even lead to brain damage if overused. (She is based on Yamamura Sadako, Alma Wade and Erma Williams.) (Her parents are Yamamura Kayako and Yamamura Samu.) (Unlike most other noumu-girls, her parents are alive and love her. She was kidnapped because of her unique quirk which allows her to psychically manipulate her hair like extra appendages.)
Kaneki Hikari (Noumu Subject: Ghoul): She is a slim and lean girl who is about Izuku's age with brown hair, red eyes with black sclera and bony protrusions on her limbs and along her spine. She can grow bony spikes and blades from the bony protrusions on her limbs and along her spine. She can also shoot the spikes and blades as projectiles. She can quickly regenerate from physical damage and is much faster than normal humans. She is also quite flexible and is a savage fighter. Growing the bony spikes and blades drain her body of nutrients, especially calcium. The spikes cannot "retract" back into her body but can be removed to be used as weapons. She was a runaway from her neglectful relatives who begrudgingly took her in after her real parents died during a villain attack. (Kudos to the Fanfiction Dot Net commenter who suggested Painwheel from Skullgirls.) (Her name and background are inspired by Tokyo Ghoul.)
Rika (Noumu Subject: Balrog): She is a girl who is about Izuku's age with a tall and voluptuous muscular figure. She has black hair, red skin, a tail with a heart-shaped barb at the tip, long pointed ears, sharp canines, goat-like feet and horns, clawed hands and red eyes. She is capable of controlling fire and soil and tends to create weapons and armour from them. She can also breathe and cover herself in flames, reshape the ground around her at will and possesses superhuman strength, durability and speed. Overusing her quirk will cause her body to overheat itself to the point of literally melting from the inside out. (She is inspired by the Balrog.) (Tora, Rika and Midori were originally young orphans who were also friends.)
Tora (Noumu Subject: Ogre) She is a tall and lean girl who is about Izuku's age with blue skin, yellow eyes, a pair of short horns on her forehead, short pointed ears, sharp canines and short pale-blue hair. She can control lightning, water vapour and wind, thus allowing her to fly at will, shoot powerful bolts of lightning and even create a "hail" of sharp icicles. She also possesses superhuman strength, durability and speed, thus allowing her to be a dangerous opponent even when not using her manipulation abilities. Overusing her quirk will cause her immense exhaustion and can even lead to hypothermia. (She is based on Japanese Oni which are believed to be capable of controlling thunderstorms.) (Tora, Rika and Midori were originally young orphans who were also friends.)
Midori (Noumu Subject: Troll) She is a "short yet stacked" girl who is about Izuku's age with green skin, black hair, yellow eyes, long pointed ears, a cow-like tail and sharp canines. She possesses superhuman strength and toughness and can become even stronger by growing in size to the point of becoming gigantic. Her giant form is tall and lean unlike her normal form and can unleash powerful roars which blow people away. She also has powerful regenerative abilities which makes her even more difficult to defeat. She has a huge appetite and become even hungrier to the point of losing self-control when overusing her quirks. (Tora, Rika and Midori were originally young orphans who were also friends.)
As for the members of Splinter Cell:
Kinuta Dosu (a.k.a. Sonic Shell) is a young man with a hunched back and has his head covered in bandages except for his left eye and brow. His quirk, [Resonance Shell, grants him a bony shell with holes on each forearm so that he can generate sonic attacks that deafen and disorientate anyone that hears them. Although unharmed by the sounds that he creates, he must be able to swing his arms to create and direct the sonic attacks. He is an alert and logical person and can be surprisingly silent in spite of his quirk. Although ruthless in a fight, he can be surprisingly courteous. A notable member of the Meta Liberation Army, he joined the group out of a sense of gratitude for accepting him in spite of his quirk which he had trouble controlling to the point that his abusive parents essentially threw him out into the streets to fend for himself. He is also acquainted with Mustard. (He is based on Kinuta Dosu from the manga, 'Naruto'.) (Meta Liberation Army soldier)
Sasori Zazan (a.k.a. Scorpion Queen) is a young woman with unkempt fuchsia hair, golden eyes, purplish skin and an attractive full figure. Her quirk, [Scorpion Sting, grants her scorpion-like tail which she can use to paralyse or even kill her opponents with a single sting. The stinger can also fling poison and she is stronger and faster than ordinary people. Although arrogant and vain, she is a capable fighter and will follow orders as long as she is not angered due to having her beauty marred. A notable member of the Meta Liberation Army, she joined the group because she wanted the freedom to dominate those who were weaker than her. (She is based on Zazan from 'Hunter x Hunter'.) (Meta Liberation Army soldier)
Rokuyu Chuu (a.k.a. Tipsy Brawler) is a tall well-built man with an electric-blue mohawk, a messy stubble on his face and black eyes. His quirk, [Alcohol Boost] grants him power when he drinks alcohol. The more alcohol he consumes, the more powerful he becomes but at the cost of making him increasingly drunk until he is forced to vomit out the excess, literally. He enjoys having a good fight and is actually a rather friendly person. A notable member of the Meta Liberation Army, he joined the group as he wanted the freedom to drink alcohol and fight opponents as he wished. He is currently looking after an orphaned boy named Rinku. (He is based on Chuu from 'Yu Yu Hakusho'.) (Meta Liberation Army soldier)
Rinku (a.k.a. Yo-Yo Menace) is a young boy with green eyes, spiky brown hair and three pink stars tattooed below his left eye. His quirk, [Weighted String Manipulation, allows him to freely control any weight that is attached to his fingers with a string. As such, he favours yo-yos as his weapons and can control ten of them at once, one for each finger digit. He was an orphan who was being picked on by some thugs when Chuu helped him and started taking care of him as an elder brother figure. Although not an official member of the Meta Liberation Army due to his young age (twelve years old), he supports the idea of people using their quirks freely. (He is based on Rinku from 'Yu Yu Hakusho'.)
Suitchi Ranchi (a.k.a. Switch Hazard) is a young woman with untamed wavy hair, a curvaceous body and an unusual transformation quirk. Every time she sneezes, she switches between one of two distinct personalities. One of her two personalities is a kind blue-haired young woman with large blue eyes, the ability to heal injuries, a desire to help others and is a skilled housekeeper. In contrast, her other personality has blond hair, sharp green eyes, a more muscular physique and the ability to enhance her body to fight at superhuman levels. The blond version is also quite violent and has a love for weapons such as guns and explosives. Both versions have sensitive noses so they are prone to sneezing. Also, both versions consume physical energy to use their respective emitter abilities and it is not uncommon for one personality to be unaware of what the other had recently done. (She is based on Ranchi from 'Dragon Ball'.) (Meta Liberation Army soldier)
Bakuterian Saikin (a.k.a. Stink Bomb) is a large and fat, yet muscular, man with messy black hair, dark skin, bushy black beard, hairy chest and forearms, missing teeth and yellowed remaining teeth. His quirk, [Stench, allows him to amplify the potency of his stench including his body odour, breath and farts. Due to not bathing or even brushing his teeth for years, he has developed a very powerful stench but at the cost of making him absolutely unapproachable, never mind his health issues including his rotten teeth. Although dim-witted and unpleasant, he is willing to follow orders and will wear a literal hazmat suit to keep his stench contained until needed. A notable member of the Meta Liberation Army, he joined the army so that he can be as unhygienic as he wanted without a care in the world. Even devout believers of the Meta Liberation Army admit that he sets a very bad example. (He is based on Bakuterian from 'Dragon Ball'.) (Meta Liberation Army soldier)
Until next time, go beyond, plus ultra!
