I know its a weird pairing, but it may as well be true.

Random thoughts lead me to this.

Enjoy

"Night, Star," Robin turned away to face his room door. It opened at the sense of motion and he stepped halfway into the room, turning to face back at Starfire.

Starfire's green emerald eyes were watching back at his masked eyes, trying to find the true eyes behind the mask. Starfire, of course, did not express this is emotion, but Robin knew she wished to see the true Robin, as did all of his other teammates, the one behind the dark mask.

They stood paused for a second in deep thought.

"Have a pleasant slumber," Starfire replied, "friend Robin."

She went walking on, past his room door, her flame-colored hair trailing behind in the wind.

Robin stepped fully into his room and his shadow descended into his dormitory's depths of darkness as the door automatically slid closed behind him.

He laid himself on his bed, thinking.

Why did he find himself falling for Starfire? Why wasn't it that he fell for Raven's beautiful amthyest violet eyes and mysterious life? Why did he fall for Starfire's bubbly, always smiling face with emerald orbs for eyes and fire for hair?

Why was it that he enjoyed being on the same team as her? Being on the same side? Backing up for her?

Robin admitted he was falling for her, but not exactly for her.

A difficult concept, but he didn't fall for her just because of her. Robin knew he didn't admire just her beauty. Ribon knew that he only looked up to Starfire for her superior strength. He wasn't bond to her in those terms.

What was this called? Loving someone for no reason?

Perhaps it was the personality portrayed. Or perhaps it was her long-term will.

Perhaps Robin was lying to himself. Perhaps he did attract to her for beauty and strength. Perhaps he didn't want to admit it, even to himself.

Robin did not even understand himself.

Starfire's appearance in his mind began to change. Her hair darkened to become as black as ebony jewels and her eyes turned into a deep shade of violet. Everything she wore changed into a black and Starfire was now covered in metal otherwise.

Blackfire.

Robin knew he fell for Blackfire. Her similar resemblance to Starfire.

Perhaps he was going for Starfire under his own greed for wanted Blackfire. Perhaps Starfire gave him a good figure of Blackfire. Perhaps he was falling for Starfire because she reminded him of Blackfire, the one he fell for already.

Robin's mind wandered as he thought about Blackfire. His mental picture gave him a close up of her face. Her cheeks of smooth skin that was caressed by her ebony long hair.

Her deep violet irises burned their image into his mind.

The purple burned, though they possibly couldn't have.

But then why Blackfire?

It could have been Starfire, or maybe Raven.

Why Blackfire?

Robin conjured up a mental picture of Blackfire again.

Her eyes burned into his mind.

At last Robin knew what he was attracted to for Blackfire.

A stupid thing, really.

Her beautiful orbs called eyes. They were so evil, so dark, but reflected such a pureness. A pureness of goodness.

A pureness opposing herself.

The pureness was the real her. The small light in her dark eyes was the inside for her, all pure and white. It was a small, miniature part of her body, but took a greatness inside of her. Robin knew she wasn't evil, not evil by any chance.

She only had a bad reputation, a bad appearance, evil, so dark looking.

But she was purer than any.

Pure, lighted, honest.

But put down.

Blackfire.

When would his lips ever touch hers?

When would his lips ever claim her?

When would his lips ever tell her?

That he loved her.

Pure and all.

Evil and all.

They were the same when it came to Blackfire.

Blackfire.

The purest of dark.
