Dark Desires Ch. 10
Rubbing his chest, he couldn't help but feel like something was sitting on it, looking down at the field, he had this urge to jump out and find Ruby. He knew that there was something wrong, "How much longer?" his voice raising a bit.
Alexander looked over at Frost, his body language indicating that he was ready to hurt someone. "What's wrong?"
Raising his eyes, "Ruby." His voice harsh, rubbing his chest.
Nodding, he heard of this, mates after blood exchanges could start to feel the others pain, and emotions. Turning towards the pilot, "Land, now." Regardless of his opinion of the man, mates in the pureblood community were rare, and even more so for the bitten, so it was imperative that female mates were protected, they were the future of the vampires, providing more chances for other vampires to find their mates and continue family lines.
"Yes sir." Maneuvering the helicopter, he carefully found a space big enough for the bird and brought her down. Once it was down, he looked over his shoulder, "We're clear."
Deacon didn't even wait, he jumped out and started to make his way towards the farm. He needed to find her, if anything just to relieve the pain that was coursing through his body.
Mercury could see Deacon approaching, and just by the look on his face something was wrong. Turning towards Quinn and Raquel, "Be on alert." Not knowing what was setting him off.
Approaching his team, "Where is she?" he barked, not even caring about how the mission went.
Swallowing at his anger, "She's on the other side of the farm, we left her with helicopter." Looking around, seeing the concern on the other's faces, "We didn't want her anywhere near the fighting until we secured the farm."
Looking over the farm, he walked past them, moving quickly to the other side of the farm, "Secure the humans with Alexander."
Mercury nodded, looking towards the council leader, "This way sir." Indicating for him to follow her towards the bungalows.
Looking down at her body, Blade gently picked her up, praying to anyone that his bite was able to start the process of her transition, because he couldn't hear her heart beat any longer. "Whistler what are her chances?" he asked into his earbud.
"About an 80% chance. Now get her to Frost now. If she's in transition when she wakes up you need to be as far away from the humans as possible, she'll attack anything with a heartbeat." Closing his eyes, he hoped his faith in Ruby was founded, and that her need for blood would settle once she was on a normal feeding schedule.
Moving towards the center of the farm, he found Deacon running towards him, his eyes taking in his body language as he moved towards him.
Deacon could see Blade holding her, moving quickly in front of the man. "What happened?" he yelled, moving quicky to pull her to his chest.
He hated handing her over, he felt responsible for her, but Frost was on the verge of snapping, and if Ruby woke, she would be pissed if he killed her mate. "One of the guards ran, I gave chase, he had her by the throat, and stuck her in the stomach with a knife. She asked me to change her."
Tilting her neck, he could see his bite mark. Closing his eyes, he didn't even bother speaking to the man, just brought her towards the helicopter. Moving quickly, he jumped into the chopper, "Take me to my tower, now." He barked out.
"Of course, sir."
Deacon looked down at her bloody shirt, he could feel his fangs growing, the only reason that he didn't reach into Blades chest and rip out his fucking heart was only because he could smell her blood changing, so depending on how long it took her to die, she would be awake in the next few hours.
Leaning down, he gently placed a kiss on her forehead, "My goddess, please come back to me. This life isn't worth anything without you." Feeling the helicopter starting to make it's decent, he carefully pulled her closer to his body, doing everything he could to put his scent on her body, hoping that it would calm her as she went through the transition.
Carefully jumping out of the chopper, he quickly moved to get her into their bedroom, as he placed her down, Deacon rushed towards the bathroom, grabbing a washcloth.
Gently moving the washcloth across her face and neck, Deacon took the time to remove her clothes, tossing them into the trash. Finding his way into their closet, he grabbed her cotton sundress, wanting her to be as comfortable as she could be. While the complete transition could take up to three days, you were awake for them, when you woke from a dying transition everything comes at you all at once.
"My goddess, I will be back I need to feed." Carefully getting up, he moved quickly towards the fridge, grabbing some blood to warm up in a glass. Tipping the glass, he could hear the elevator open, turning his attention to see who was entering his home, he found Alexander, and his crew, but most surprisingly Blade with his human father, Whistler.
Mercury looked around not seeing Ruby, "Is she OK?" she asked, worried about her friend.
Downing the last bit of his blood, his eyes naturally watching Blade and Whistler. "She's fine, in the throws of her transition." As he spoke those words, he could see that his crew was relieved, but Blade seemed to tense at that.
Whistler took a seat at the island counter, it was a lot closer to Frost than he would have liked, but there was no way that he was going to sit on his furniture like they were friends. Looking over his shoulder, he could see that Eric was staring at the door, she was the first person he ever turned, he could understand that he was worried that he did something wrong, "How much longer until she would wake?" he asked, curious about the process.
Deacon eyed the older man, "Depending on how long it took her to die from the moment he bit her." Turning his eyes towards Blade, "I guess I owe you." Almost choking on the words.
Pulling his eyes away from the door, Blade rolled his shoulders, "Don't mention it." His eyes finding the door again.
Alexander looked at his watch, "I'd make the guess within the hour." Taking a seat, his eyes enjoying the look of confusion on their faces, "She's a rarity, a human mated to a bitten vampire, and was changed on the fly, the mated females of our community are to be protected."
Deacon could only nod, "I'm going to sit with her." Turning towards his bedroom, he could feel the Daywalker watching his every move. It was unsettling, but it didn't take a rocket scientist that he cared for her, and that was fine, as long as he didn't cross a line, he could be an extra set of eyes that watched out for Ruby.
Settling on the bed, he pulled her body closer to him, it was surprising on how her body temperature felt normal to him, "Seems like you are closer to the end my love. Soon you will wake into this world your eyes will see things and colors that you don't have a name for, it's a lot to take in, but you are one of the strongest people I know, you'll adjust fine."
Placing a small kiss on her forehead, he held her, hoping that the rest of her transition would go smoothly.
She heard everything that he said, knowing that he was here holding her, made this limbo that she was stuck in more barrable. Doing what she could to keep herself from fidgeting, she replayed every memory that she could think about, from her childhood to the moment she got on the chopper towards the farm.
Ruby could feel her body being pulled out of the fog, but it was a terrifying prospect to open your eyes into this world, scared of how the world would look to her, would it still hold the same beauty that she always loved, or would it be something else?
Taking a second to orient herself, she inhaled deeply, perhaps smelling something would help herself ease into this moment, but as scent of the room invaded her nose, she was overwhelmed by a deep masculine scent, warm, leather, whiskey, and freedom. Her eyes popped open, trying to find the source of the smell.
Everything happened at once, the sight of Deacon, wrapping her arms around his body, her nose into his neck. But it was the ache in her jaw that sent her into a tailspin, jumping off the bed, she found herself leaning against the wall, her hands wrapping around her face. Crying out in pain.
Deacon moved quickly towards her, slowly sinking down to his knees in front of her, "Ruby, it's your fangs. Breath my goddess, it only hurts the first time they come in." His eyes holding hers. Taking her by the shoulders, he kept his eyes on hers as she attempted to breath through the pain.
Ruby watched his ice blue eyes, doing her best not to scream out, she remembered reading about this part, if she could get over this part, she would be fine. Opening her mouth, she couldn't help but groan out as she felt them slide into place, "FUCK!" she barked out.
Taking her arms she gripped his shoulders, taking very deep and slow breaths, almost worried that the lack of pain was a precursor to something much worse. After a tense few minutes, Ruby made a motion to stand, her eyes never leaving Deacons. "Please tell me that was it." Surprised how her voice sounded to her.
Deacon smirked at her, "Yeah." Pulling her into a deep hug, "I was scared Ruby, don't you dare do anything like that to me again." Gently petting her hair.
Wrapping her arms around him, "I swear, I'll do my best." Closing her eyes, she felt at peace, she always felt safe within his arms, but something was different now, almost like she was complete somehow. However, Ruby didn't get to enjoy the moment, the sound of a sloshy beating brought the predator in her to surface, stepping out of his arms, she turned towards the door damn near ripping it off the hinges.
Deacon reacted a millisecond to late, as he moved to stop her from grabbing Whistler, she had him out of his chair and pinned to the wall, "RUBY!"
Ruby could only hear the sound of his beating heart, but it was his smell, she could smell the blood at the surface, her eyes staring at the vein that was on his neck, hypnotized by the pulsing of the blood.
Looking up into the man's eyes, she could see his fear, but underneath that was acceptance. The sounds of the people in the room didn't distract her, he was hers, but the longer she stared at him, the more familiar he became.
Blade didn't want to kill her, but he wasn't going to let her kill Whistler, holding his breath, he watched as she held him, her eyes watching the vein in his neck.
Alexander was surprised, a freshly turned vampire would almost always rip out the throat of their first person, but here she was holding him, he could see that she was tempted to, but she didn't move to bite him.
Deacon knew if she thought he was trying to take her kill she'd snap, moving as close as he could without crowding her, his eyes never leaving the tension in her body. Never in his life had he seen a new vampire show so much restraint.
Ruby looked into his face, doing her best to ignore the burn in the back of her throat, "Whistler." She said, almost too quietly for anyone to pick up.
Whistler stared at her, surprised he wasn't dead yet. But hearing his name fall off her lips, "Yeah Kid. My name is Whistler."
Taking a step back, Ruby placed her hands down to her sides, griping the fabric of her dress. Swallowing the spit that was in her mouth, she took another step back, "Leave. Please." Doing what she could to keep herself from killing the man. Moving back until she felt Deacon's arms wrapping around her, "Get him out of here, I don't want to hurt him." Turning around Ruby placed her nose deep into his neck, using his scent to ground her.
Raquel moved to the elevator, punching in the code, moving quickly she grabbed the human, placing him in the elevator, "Blade you too. NOW." She barked, knowing that Ruby was holding on by a thread, and she was certain there wasn't going to be second chance.
Blade moved quickly keeping his eyes on Ruby as she clung to Deacon, once the elevator doors were shut, he looked behind him, seeing a smirking redhead, and a relieved looking Whistler, "You OK old man?"
Clearing his throat, "Yeah. I can't believe she was able to stop herself."
Raquel wasn't, Ruby was impressive as a human, it only made sense that she would make an exceptional vampire. "I would recommend avoiding her for the next couple months, she'll be more instinct then rational for a while."
As the doors opened, Blade turned towards the woman, "You're not going to keep dangling humans in front of her?" Wondering what was going to happen now that she was turned.
Shaking her head, "No, Ruby and I talked lots about how she wanted to feed when she transitioned, and like me, she wants to feed on the worst of humanity, or blood bags." Her eyes finding the old man looking at her, "I don't want her to lose who she is either." With that she pressed the button to head back to the loft, hoping that Deacon was giving her blood.
Mercury moved as soon as the doors were shut, grabbing a blood bag, and putting in the microwave, once it was ready, she pushed a metal straw through it, carefully handing it to her friend. "Here, this will help."
Not meaning to snatch it, but the smell alone was enough to cause her to moan, Ruby inhaled every drop. Feeling better with every pull from the straw. As she finally finished the first bag, Mercury had another in her hand, slowly taking it, Ruby looked over at her friend, "Thank you."
Deacon was surprised how controlled she was. Lifting her into the chair by the island, he kept his arms around her as she drank her second bag, his eyes turning towards the elevator as the doors opened, smiling when Raquel stepped through. "Everyone OK?"
Nodding, "Yeah. I told the human to stay clear of Ruby for a bit, didn't want any accidents." Smirking at the frown on her face, "Hey it's normal, so don't put so much pressure on yourself."
Finishing the bag, Ruby carefully placed it on the island next to her first bag, "I know, doesn't mean I want to rip out the throat of an ally. Seems like bad manners." Shaking her head, it was like the cobwebs that were in her head were finally clearing. "What was that?" she asked, hoping for an explanation of her behavior.
Alexander stood, slowly making his way to the vampire, "That my dear was bloodlust. The first month or so into this life, you will feed more than an older vampire, but usually after a month you'll be down to daily feedings, not multiple a day. Soon after, every other day, to weekly, and perhaps monthly, but that could be a few years." Unable to keep the smile off his face.
Nodding at his words, "So, I need to stay ahead of my cravings. So, I don't get snappy." Putting into context with someone with hypoglycemia.
"Essentially, yes my dear." Taking a look around, he knew that the sun was going to rise in a little bit, "I would request a room to stay, don't want to meet the sun." He joked.
Deacon looked over at him, "Of course. Mercury, please." Knowing that his second would bring him to a suitable room.
Ruby turned to Deacon, "I don't feel it." Her voice filled with concern. Was there something wrong with her?
Looking into her eyes, "What do you mean? You don't have this urge to hide from the sun?" he asked her.
Closing her eyes, trying to focus on any little thing that her body was telling her, other than the noises from the city, and the smell of Deacon, there was nothing. Opening her eyes, she found his watching her, "No. I don't." Slipping off chair, she turned towards him, "Perhaps it's everything hitting my senses at once," yawning, "I'd really like to shower, and sleep. Please."
Not wanting to cause her any worry, he smiled, it would be something that he would deal with tomorrow night, for now he wanted to hold her, mate with her, claim her as his, and be claimed as hers. Placing his hands on the small of her back, he led her into their room, punching in the code to lower the shades of their home, protecting them from the destructive rays of the sun.
Walking into their room, Ruby could see everything in a new light, but right now it wasn't about focusing on the fabrics, it was the idea of finally claiming her mate, not longer having him to worry if he was going to hurt her.
Turning around her eyes focused on his, looking down at the dress she was wearing, smiling at the thought and care he put into dressing her. Carefully reaching behind her, she unzipped herself, letting the dress pool at her feet. "Deacon." She breathed out, wanting him more than her next breath.
His eyes watched her every move. "I've waited a while to have you every way possible." Moving in front of her, he smirked as she watched him, gripping her shoulders, he gently tossed her onto the bed, "Don't move my goddess."
Gripping his shirt, he pulled it off his body, tossing it off into the corner, undoing his belt, he kicked the pants and underwear to where he tossed the shirt. Crawling over her body, "I need to be inside you, my goddess." Rocking his hips and the tip of his cock onto her clit. Enjoying how her pussy was dripping wet for him.
Ruby gasped, she needed him, it was almost desperate. "Please. Fuck me." Wrapping her legs around his waist, using her newfound strength to move his cock closer into her body.
Leaning down, Deacon rolled his hips, slowly letting his cock enter her body, enjoying how her body clenched around him. His need to dominate her surged forward, sitting up on his knees, he wrapped his hand around her throat, driving his cock deep into her body, "Ruby, I need you to cum on my cock." His voice strained with his desire for her.
Rolling her hips to meet his, Ruby gently held his wrist, groaning as he powered himself into her, he was always holding back with her, and now she knew why, if he fucked her like this as a human, he would have killed her. The thought of his control with her before made her body respond to him, "FUCK please. So close." Not caring that she was begging for him.
Slamming himself deeper, he couldn't help but smile down at her, licking his thumb he gently brought it down on her clit, enjoying how her body responded immediately to his finger. Doubling his efforts, he could feel her pussy contracting, enjoying how it squeezed his cock in the most painfully delirious ways. Needing to have her blood in his mouth, Deacon leaned forward, groaning as her pussy started to milk his cock, sinking his fangs into her neck, was singly the most erotic things he has ever experienced in his life.
Wrapping his hands around her head, he pulled her blood deep into his mouth, he could feel his balls tighten, lifting his mouth off her neck, "Bite me, my goddess." Needing to feel her fangs in his flesh, wanting to be the first person that felt her teeth in their flesh.
Ruby could smell his impending orgasm, but hearing him ask for her to bite him, clenching her pussy walls wanting to make him cum. Sitting up, she could feel her teeth sliding into place, grateful that it wasn't as painful as the first time. Gently licking the side of his neck, stretching her mouth, Ruby carefully placed her teeth over the jugular sinking them into his skin.
As blood poured into her mouth, and his cock slamming into her, it sent her into another wave of pleasure. His blood always tasted sweet to her but with a hint of tang, almost like a fine smooth whiskey. Moaning as she felt his hands hold her closer to his neck.
Using her legs, Ruby pulled him closer, needing him to cum, tilting her hips upwards enjoying how his body started to shake above her. Keeping her teeth locked into his neck, she could feel the ropes of his cum hitting her walls, it sent her body into another spiral. "Oh GOD."
Deacon slowly stroked himself within her body, enjoying how her pussy clung to him. Slamming his lips down on hers, enjoying how her body clung to him. Falling to his side, he rolled until she was laying on his chest. Enjoying having her body on top of his. Moving her hair out of his face, "I love you."
Lifting her arms to his shoulders, Ruby could feel her body starting to succumb to the energy leaving her body. Snuggling deeper into his chest, enjoying how his chest hair tickled her cheek. "Love you too." Letting out a yawn, Ruby knew that in the next few days, thing would start to change, she would need to be presented to the vampire council and their houses, and for Deacon to take his place as leader of their house.
Gently stroking her back, he felt her body give into her need to sleep, smirking as she snuggled deeper into his chest, never in his life did he think that he of all people would find someone that was truly his world, and perhaps sometime in the future they would start their family, as he closed his eyes, he couldn't help but wonder when she would finally fall pregnant with their first child, and before that would happen, he wanted to not only bind her to him through blood, but through marriage as well, she deserved to be claimed in every way that would not only prove to her, but to the rest of their community that she meant something more to him then a breeding partner, she was the love of his life.
