Dark Desires Ch. 15
Deacon watched as Ruby and Mercury train her new familiar, at first, he was a bit annoyed when the elevator opened and standing next to Ruby was a young woman clinging to his mate. Closing his eyes, he couldn't help but think back on the night he met young Angela and how she was becoming someone that Ruby deeply cared for. Snorting at it all, he didn't care for her the way Ruby did, but he didn't seem to mind her too much, and she was smart and driven. As long as she never hurt his goddess, then she could stay.
FLASHBACK (3 weeks ago)
Deacon paced in the living room, his anxiety spiking, he was more than grateful that Ruby was coming home, but he figured it would be another day or so before he was able to see her, touch her again.
Quinn watched as he paced, no one knew why Ruby was coming home so soon, but he felt he knew Ruby enough to know that if she was coming home earlier than expected it was because she was able to get everything handled that she needed to.
Mercury held Raquel in her arms, her eyes watching Deacon pace, leaning into her love, she gently bit her neck, "Seems like daddy is nervous." She teased.
Deacon's eyes focused as the elevator's doors opened, as he moved to greet his goddess, his eyes found her arm wrapped around a human woman. Leaning against the pillar, he watched as the human clung to her body.
"My goddess, who is this?" He asked her.
Ruby could see that he was slightly annoyed that he couldn't just pull her into a deep hug, she was just grateful that he wasn't scaring Angela. "My love, this is Angela, she was attacked when I was hunting in St. Paul. I offered her to be my familiar." Hoping that he wouldn't object to that.
Letting all that information sink in, his eyes looked to everyone else in the room, Mercury and Raquel seemed OK with this, Quinn didn't seem to care. Shrugging his shoulder, "If she is your choice, I support it, but," his eyes landing on the human, "My goddess has made the choice to trust you, let you in, do not abuse that trust, because I will kill you if you hurt her."
Making his way towards his love, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, "Well, I guess we should get her settled into an apartment in the building." Knowing that Ruby was going to take care of this Angela. Turning towards Mercury, "Please get Ms. Angela settled."
Angela could see that this must be Deacon, Ruby explained who he was, and who she was to him. Clearing her throat, "Thank you." Gasping as his ice blue eyes turned towards her, "I will not squander this chance that your mate has given me." Her eyes finding Ruby's, "I can trust her." Her eyes darting towards the platinum blonde.
Ruby kissed Deacon, but stepped away, "Yes, this is Mercury," pointing to the woman standing next to her, "That lovely redhead is her girlfriend Raquel," and finally pointing towards Quinn, "This is Quinn, he is Deacon's second. You will be safe here." Her eyes locking on each of them.
Mercury smiled; Ruby was most definitely coming a long as a leader. Turning her attention towards the brunette, "I will take you to your room."
Angela nodded, her eyes turning towards the blonde, letting her lead her towards a room that she would be staying in, looking up at Deacon, she knew by how he was standing that if she did anything to hurt Ruby emotionally or physically, he would kill her. As the doors to the elevator shut, the only thing that Angela wanted was to do was earn her place in this house, but as of now, she wasn't sure if she wanted to be a vampire, but even if she didn't, she would live her life, and do what she could to be loyal to the woman that saved her life.
Deacon watched as Mercury left with the human, his eyes turning towards his mate, "How is it you go to handle your life, and come back with a loyal human?" he asked, his voice teasing.
Wrapping her arms arounds his neck, "It's a talent." Looking over at her friends, "As much as I want to spend time with you all, please leave."
Quinn and Raquel couldn't help but laugh, Raquel darted down to meet Mercury, and Quinn darted out the front door.
Wrapping his hands in her hair, he tossed her over his shoulder, it was time to get reacquainted with this love.
END FLASHBACK
Staring down in the training room, Deacon couldn't help but smile at how Ruby took to teaching Angela. While it was a little unorthodox for a Lady to take such an interest in her familiar, but Ruby was anything than typical.
What was more surprising was how Blade seemed to bond with her, as he watched he could see that it wasn't a sexual attraction to the young woman, but a genuine care for her safety. Ruby seemed to be able to pull out the humanity in most people, mostly him.
Feeling Quinn next to him, "Anything knew to report?" he asked, knowing that they were in the finalizing stages of their attack on the overpopulation of the bitten.
Nodding, "Alexander is ready when you are, he has the rest of the houses in their perspective home territories ready to go." Quinn heard the human yelp as she was tossed on her ass, snorting that she jumped up, not ready to give up. "That one has spirit."
Deacon couldn't help but nod at that statement, "That she does." Taking a second to think on the best time to attack, his mind settled on their move, "We are moving tomorrow night into our new compound, this place will be used as training facility for our pledges, and meetings." Rubbing his face, his eyes settling on Ruby who was letting Angela toss her around, "Let's move in 3 days."
Quinn nodded, "Sounds good Boss." Figuring that Angela needed another test dummy, he jumped down, landing in front of her. "My turn."
Deacon jumped down, landing near Ruby, touching her shoulder as Quinn moved at human speed to grab her. "You are a fantastic teacher."
Leaning into his hand, "Thank you." Her eyes never leaving Angela as she was able to flip Quinn onto his back. Turning to kiss Deacon, she enjoyed how his lips felt on hers. But she knew that Angela was human, and needed to rest, turning her attention to her, she could see that Angela was breathing hard, "That's enough for now."
Angela watched Quinn stand, and move towards Deacon standing at his side, her eyes landing on Ruby, "Oh thank God, I was about to fall over." She said, her voice teasing.
Snorting at her, "I know, I'd say I'm sorry, but Mercury tortured me this way when I was still human, it's very effective." Making her way over, "Go clean up, and have some food, tomorrow we are moving to our new home, make sure you have everything you want to take."
Nodding, "I will, see you tomorrow evening." Her eyes looking at Deacon, "Night." With that, Angela darted towards her apartment, grateful that she trusted Ruby enough to come with her, once she was settled into the new home, she would be starting classes at the community college closest to the compound.
Ruby watched as Quinn walked Angela out, her eyes turning towards her mate, reaching over she tossed him a sword, "Let's see if I can keep up."
Blade chuckled, "My money's on you." Looking at Frost, "I'm leaving for the evening, I'll see you in a few days." Knowing that they are moving.
"Goodnight Blade." Ruby said to him. Her eyes never leaving Deacon's. "If I do well, will you allow me to go?" She asked, turning her sword in her hands.
Licking his lips, Deacon couldn't help but want her, "That's a fair deal."
As she nodded, she could see Deacon move and bring the sword down, moving out of the way, Ruby blocked and brought it around towards his face, just missing his neck. Wanting to keep the momentum, she brought the sword back up, finding him block.
Their swords came together, a loud clang was heard in the training room. For a moment they stared at the other, and as much as Ruby wanted to rip his clothes off, she needed to prove to him that she was ready to go out on missions with them.
Pushing back, Ruby kept her sword up, not wanting to be completely taken off guard. Taking a deep breath, she watched as Deacon brought the sword towards her. They moved fast, not holding back, it looked like two very seasoned fighters were battling it out.
Deacon was impressed, not too many people in his long life could keep up with his sword skills, he attributed that to being raised as young Viking, but his love was doing well. Seeing an opening, he was able to lock their swords and remove it from her hands to his surprise she moved and kicked his stomach sending him back, as he rolled with it he saw her foot coming towards his face, just barely ducking he was able to grab her waist and roll her to the ground, his sword at her neck.
Looking down, he watched as she tilted her neck to him, submitting to him. "You are amazing my goddess." Tossing the sword across the room, his body staying on hers, keeping her pinned under his weight.
Ruby smiled up into his eyes, "I've had fantastic teachers." Closing her eyes as he leaned down, licking the side of her neck, "Please."
Jumping up, Deacon tossed her over his shoulder, moving quickly to their room, and soon had her in the shower, and the water cascading over them. Ripping her clothes from her body, and his, he had them naked and her by her throat. "Tell me what you want my goddess."
Licking her lips, Ruby wanted to taste him, "My choice?" she asked, curious about his response.
Dropping his hand, Deacon took a small step back, "Yes. You're choice." Smirking at her, enjoying how her eyes sparkled with desire and mischief.
Pushing herself off the wall, Ruby gently touched his chest, pushing him lightly into the wall, her eyes locking with his, "Please don't move." As he nodded, Ruby dropped to her knees, gently licking the tip of his cock. Smirking as he let out a hiss.
Looking down, he watched as she licked him, not taking him into her mouth just yet, she was teasing him. In the months that they've been together, this is the first time he realized that she every done this. While he was a huge fan of oral sex, his desires to be inside her body overrode everything else. Tilting his head back, groaning out as he watched her mouth swallow his cock. "FUCK."
Ruby never broke eye contact as she took his cock deeper into her mouth. Being mindful of her fangs, Ruby took a second to breath through her nose, and soon her nose was against his pelvis. All 8 inches of his thick cock were down her throat.
Letting her throat relax, Ruby slowly withdrew, leaving only his tip in her mouth, taking her hand, she carefully cupped his balls, wanting to make sure that he enjoyed this as much as she did. Hollowing out her cheeks, Ruby set a fast pace, wanting to taste him as soon as she could. It would be the first time that he would let her do this, and she didn't want to waste a second of her control.
Deacon couldn't keep his eyes open as she moved faster over his cock, "Ruby." He moaned out. Needing to ground himself, he carefully wrapped his hand in her wet hair, hissing as she bottomed out again. Rocking his hips in time with her mouth, Deacon had to force his eyes open, he wanted to see her, he needed to see his cock fuck her mouth.
Resisting the urge to gag, Ruby let him rock his hips into her mouth. Flattening her tongue, she was able to take him all the way down with every thrust, as she massaged his balls, she could feel his hand in her hair gripping her tighter, she knew that he was getting closer.
Slowly looking up, she locked eyes with him, humming around his dick, enjoying how his body started to shake, doing it again, she was met with his hips snapping deeper into her mouth. Smiling around his cock, hoping that he was encouraged for more.
Looking into her green eyes, seeing that this was only turning her on, Deacon could feel his balls tighten, "Ruby, I'm going to cum my goddess." Not sure how she wanted to handle it. But she answered that by using her other hand, placing it on his hip, pulling him closer to her. It was all he needed.
Forcing his eyes to remain open, he felt his body shake, and as he felt his cock squirt down her throat, it was her eyes that told him that she was enjoying herself. "Swallow me my goddess."
Keeping her eyes on him, Ruby kept her tongue flat, between his hand in her hair, and his growling, Ruby almost came when she tasted him. Seeing him lean against the shower wall, his eyes finally closing, she slowly cleaned his cock, making sure that every drop was inside her mouth.
Slowly standing, Ruby kissed his chest and leaned against, smiling when she felt his arms wrap around her. Nuzzling into his neck, "I love you."
Gently stroking her hair, "I love you too, my goddess." Shutting off the water, he carefully wrapped a towel around her, and zipped them to their bed, gently laying her down, pulling her close to his body, he leaned over to his nightstand, pulling out a box, holding it just above her face, "Marry me, Ruby."
Gasping at the black velvet box, Ruby carefully took it from his hand, slowly opening it. Her eyes watering at the sight of the ring. "Yes."
Sitting up on his elbow, he took the ring from the box, and placed it on her left finger. "You are my everything, my love, my mate, and the future mother of our children."
Turning to look in his eyes, "Deacon, you are my heart." Wrapping her arms around his neck, she pulled him into a deep kiss, gently tossing her leg over his hip.
Deacon gently rolled her on her back, slowly making love to her, and for the first time in almost 600 years truly felt what happiness was.
As the sun rose, Ruby and Deacon finally sated with the other, drifted off to sleep, both grateful to be starting the next part of the lives together.
Standing in their new home, Ruby knew that Deacon had the familiars move their items in during the day, and while she could have helped, she wanted to enter their new home with Deacon. Her eyes were taking in everything, it was huge, and each room was decorated in such a way that complimented her love of simple elegance, his love of extravagance, and of course, the colors of their House.
Deacon watched as she went from room to room, smiling as she gasped at every little thing, staying close to her, he knew that the rest were settling into their rooms, but as she started moving upstairs, he grabbed her hand, "There are 18 bedrooms, each room as their own on-suite." Chuckling at her face.
Bending over, he picked her up bridal style, moving towards their room, kissing her lips as he pushed the doors open, "This is our room." Hoping that she loved it.
Ruby took everything in, from the giant bed, the furniture, the colors were a nice calming neutral, but the beautiful drapes were color of the House, subtlety done. "Everything is perfect." Leaning up to kiss him, "Thank you, for all this."
Placing her down, "For you my goddess, there isn't anything I wouldn't want to do." Pointing to the closet, "that's your closet," gently pushing her towards it.
Ruby pushed the door open, finding the room as big as their old room at his loft, "Oh goodness." On one side was all her favorite types of sundresses, jeans, and regular t-shirts. All types of shoes, from simple sneakers to sky high heels, smirking at the collection of boots. Gently touching them, her eyes found the other side of the closet, held designer clothes, but it was the wall of formal dresses, that made her gasp.
Moving to touch the fabrics, smiling at the touch. Looking over her shoulder, she found him leaning against the entryway, "This is more than I could have ever asked for." Giving the room another glance over, she found a specialized drawer full of priceless jewels, but one thing was missing, "Where are your things?"
He watched as she walked over to him, pulling her close, "I have my own closet." Smirking at her face, "Don't worry my goddess, everyone has their own space for all their things." Knowing that she would want her family taken care of.
"You really thought of everything." His attention to detail was something that Ruby always found sexy as hell.
Stepping back, "I did." Pulling her along, running out of the room, and out the of the house, running along the property, showing her everything that it had, from the giant stable for horses, a small guest house, and how it backed up to the water.
By the time he took through every square inch of the house, the sun was starting to rise, and everyone was getting ready to head off to bed. Deacon wanted to show them one thing, "Wait." Seeing everyone freeze.
Stepping into the sunray that was just peeking into the sunroom, his eyes turned to his crew, each one with a look of surprise on their faces, but it was Ruby that just blinked, "I had specialized windows put on every window in the house," pulling Ruby with to him, "while the rest of us will never be able to be outside during the day, I wanted to be able to enjoy in the safety of our home.
Mercury, Raquel, and Quinn, carefully moved towards the sun, each one tentatively putting their hands into the ray.
Ruby watched as they all moved into the sunlight, each one of them had a look of peace on their face, it was something that she would remember until the end of her days. Stepping back, knowing that for them this was something that they didn't think would happen, she never once took her ability for the sun for granted, and this was why, it could have been just the luck of the draw that she was like the rest of the vampire community.
Angela watched as the four vampires stood in the sun for a bit, moving towards Ruby, "This is amazing." When she wasn't running errands with Ruby, or training, she was reading everything she could about vampires, and even as someone that was just learning about them, she knew that this was huge deal.
Ruby wrapped her arms around her friend, "It really is." Looking at her, "Were you able to get it?"
"Of course, I went at first light before the rest of the House was getting up." Smiling at Quinn who was trying to look unemotional about what was happening. "I placed everything in your nightstand."
Turning to the woman, "You're amazing," letting out a yawn, "OK, well I'm going to get some sleep, you can have the day to yourself, but after we are all awake, you start more training." Smirking at her face.
Angela looked at her, "Can I ask you, why are you training me? I'm still not sure if I want to be a vampire."
Ruby linked her arm with hers, "Simple, vampire or not, I want to make sure that you are safe. I hope to God you never have to use anything that you are learning, but if you do, I'd rather you be able to defend yourself, I might not be there."
Stopping by her door, Angela looked at Ruby, knowing that it was just by chance that Ruby was there, and she knew what would have happened to her if she wasn't. Giving her a small hug, "Thank you."
Ruby smiled, "You are most welcome." Turning towards her room, "Goodnight Angela." With that Ruby stripped down, shutting the blinds to the room and fell into bed, as she started to drift into a deep sleep, she felt his arms wrap around her, and soon she was out.
Ruby took a moment to steady herself, over the last few days they prepared themselves for war, and as much as she was ready to join her family out there, she'd be lying if she wasn't nervous. Looking down at her outfit, she was pleasantly surprised how it looked. Her outfit was all black, on her back were her swords, around her leg was her gun holster, finishing off the look with her combat boots.
Angela looked down over at her friend, "You're going to be safe, right?" she asked, worried about her friend.
Looking over at her as she braided her hair, "I will do my best." She could see that she was nervous. Taking a second to tighten her hair to keep it out of her face, once it was done, Ruby turned towards her, placing her hand on her shoulder, "I will be as safe as I can be. Please stay on the compound with Raquel until we return."
Pulling Ruby into a hug, "Fine, but you better get back. I kind of like you." Stepping back, she could see that Deacon was smiling at her, "You're not so bad yourself." Giving him a small smile. With that Angela made her way towards her room, figuring it would be best to stay away from the vampires that were high strung.
Deacon snorted as Angela walked past him, "Your familiar is feisty." Extending his hand, "We are ready to go." Pulling her down towards the main hall, "We are going to meet Alexander at crash house, Blade and Mercury will be hitting the other one, and Quinn is heading out with his friend Markus to handle the third."
Stopping at the bottom of the steps, he looked over at his friends, which was a strange word to use, a year ago, they were just his subordinates, but because of Ruby, and how she really opened his heart. "IN a few moments we are leaving to clean out our community, be safe, I want everyone to come home."
Ruby touched his shoulder, her eyes landing on everyone in the room, Blade standing next to Mercury, Raquel on the other side, and Quinn leaning against the railings. Bending down, Ruby grabbed her bag, reaching in she pulled out boxes for them, handing them each one. "We are family, regardless of having our own House, but this will show the rest of the of our community that we stand as one."
Deacon pulled her closer, smirking as they opened their boxes, knowing that Ruby spent a lot of time designing their crests.
As they slipped on their rings, Ruby made sure that it would be on their pointer finger, she didn't know if they would get married at some point or not, but she wanted to make sure if that option was something that any of them wanted, they could always keep their rings. Turning her attention towards her sire, she handed him a box too, "I know you're not wanting to be a member of our House, I still had one made for you."
Taking out the ring, he slipped it on, looking down, it had their House Glyph but also the symbol that the community used for him. "Thank you."
Deacon took one last look around, "It's time to head out. I will see you all when we get back." Taking Ruby by her hand, he pulled her towards the garage, feeling everyone behind him, swinging his leg over his Ducati, feeling relaxed when Ruby wrapped her arms around his waist, "Hold on my goddess."
Ruby watched as everyone got on their bikes, leaning forward, she wrapped her arms tighter around his waist, smirking when she heard him growl. "After."
Revving the engine, he nodded at everyone, and darted off towards their perspective targets, and while he was a little excited at the prospect of getting bloody, he was worried about Ruby, but he had to trust her, because if he doubted her, she could inevitability doubt herself.
Alexander stood on top of the opposite side of the building, he could hear Deacon and Ruby land on the roof. Slightly turning to look over his shoulder, his eyes locking on Ruby, she looked fierce and ready for battle. Turning his attention towards Deacon, "Are you ready for this?" He asked, enjoying feeling the weight of his sword in his hand.
Making his way towards the ledge, he looked over the edge seeing the house and a few outdoor guards. Pulling out his sword and cocking his gun, "I am." Turning his eyes towards Ruby, "My goddess?"
Pulling her sword from off her back, she stepped up to the ledge, "Yeah. Let's go."
Alexander chuckled, jumping over to the other roof, looking towards the other roof his eyes watched as both of them jumped and laned near him. Taking out his phone, he sent the message to his team to secure the outside perimeter. "Let's go."
Ruby followed behind them, her eyes watching every little shadow, she really didn't want to be taken by surprise. That already happened once, which caused her change into a vampire, this time if she died, there would be no coming back.
Sticking close behind them, Ruby watched as Alexander stood over the balcony of the house, the bitten were so busy talking amongst themselves, but what caught her attention was the smell of decay, looking over at Deacon and Alexander, she could tell they were smelling it too. They had rotting humans here.
Feeling his phone, he looked at the message, smirking. Locking his eyes with both Deacon and Ruby, nodding. With that he jumped over railing landing in the middle of the room. His eyes finding them all jumping, there were about 20 of them.
"Good evening, I'm Alexander Van Esper, and these," smirking as Ruby and Deacon landed just to his sides, "are Deacon Frost and his mate Ruby House of Vangr." Clearing his throat, "You have violated the rules set forth by your council, and your Elders." Holding up his sword, "Punishment is death." Swinging the sword, he took off the head of the vampire closet to him.
Ruby blinked, she knew that this wasn't a peace keeping mission, so shaking off the shock, she ducked and took the head off the other vampire moving towards her.
Moving around she kicked the young female coming at her, sending her into wall. Quickly tracking Deacon, she could see that he was handing himself just fine, turning her attention towards the two vampires surrounding her, Ruby pulled out her other sword, using her momentum to cut through them one at a time.
Twirling, ducking, Ruby moved efficiently through the crowd, turning her back she could see that no one else was surrounding her, checking for Deacon she could see that he just finished the 4 that were attacking him, seeing Alexander ripping the heart out of one of men, Ruby couldn't help but shake her head, at least the two of them got their bloodshed.
Putting one of her swords away, she kept the other at the ready, following the scent, Ruby wanted to find where they had them, if anything make sure that they were taken care of and cremated properly. Taking her time, she moved towards the doors that led to the basement, seeing the locks, Ruby kicked the door open, almost gaging at the smell.
Jumping down the stairs, she landed at the bottom, her eyes scanning the room, covering her mouth, Ruby almost crying at the sight in front of her. Counting the bodies tied to exam tables, IV's sticking out of their arms. Closing her eyes, she could feel the tears running down her face, this place was just a bastardization of the blood farm that Gitano wanted.
As she took a second to get herself under control, she heard the light thump of a heartbeat. Opening her eyes, she zeroed in on a small woman probably around 23, moving towards the sound, Ruby quickly removed all the IV's, as she turned off the equipment, Ruby found her Hazel eyes watching her, "I'm not going to hurt you, I'm here to help."
Georgia could barely keep her eyes open, "Please."
Wiping her face, Ruby bit her wrist, "Drink, it will help you." Placing her wound against her lips, feeling a bit of relief as she felt the young woman pull her blood into her body. Keeping her eyes on the young woman, "I'm Ruby, and I promise those who did this to you are dead."
Barely able to keep her eyes open, all she could do was nod. But all too soon the pull of blackness took over, but for the first time in months, she felt safe.
Ruby pulled her arm back, grabbing the first blanket she could, using it to cover her naked body, carefully wrapping her up. Lifting her up, Ruby moved towards the stairs, finding Deacon and Alexander standing at the top, "She's the only survivor. I'm taking her home."
Deacon watched as his mate carry the human out of this hell. Pulling out his phone, he called a doctor to meet him at his home, he knew that Ruby wouldn't just let her die without a fight. As he finished the call, he found Alexander looking at him. "What?"
"Your mate is impressive, and compassionate, you are a very blessed man." Turning towards his men, "Cremate the rest of the humans in the basement, then burn this place to ground." His eyes turning towards Deacon, who was following behind Ruby, smiling at the sight of her keeping the young woman close to her chest, ever the mother to the lost souls.
