Dark Desires Ch. 17

Dr. Taylor looked over the young woman, feeling a bit of relief seeing that she survived the night. Letting her eyes looking over at Lady Vangr, "I'm going to give her the reversals, I want to see her cognitive functions." Hoping that she wouldn't object to that.

Sitting down in the chair next to her, "OK. If you think that's best." Ruby could smell her fear, why she was afraid was honestly lost on her, as far as she was aware no one in the house intentionally scared the woman or her nurse. But perhaps being in a house full of vampires effects some people more than others.

Looking over at her nurse, "Push it." She said, her eyes watching the monitors. Breathing a sigh of relief that it didn't send her into a fit. While no one was outwardly rude toward her or Megan, she was sure that if the young woman died in her care, that would change, and rather quickly. Looking at her watch, Avery guessed it could be at least an hour before she woke up.

Taking a second to formulate her thoughts, she knew that she needed to give an explanation and a little food wouldn't hurt either, "I would say based on everything, she should start waking in an hour. Would you be opposed if we grabbed something to eat?" Not wanting to assume that her kind hospitality was still going from the night before.

Waving her hand, "Of course." Turning her attention to Angela, "Please take them to the kitchen, I'll sit with our friend here." Her eyes falling back to the redhead in the bed.

Angela nodded, "Of course." Looking over at the doctor and her nurse, "Please follow me." Leading them out of the room. As she walked into the living room, she could see that it was closer to 8 at night, soon the vampires of the house would be waking up.

Ruby looked down at the book that Angela was reading to the woman, snorting at it. "You know, when I was a human, I loved this book, and even now, as a vampire, I have to say Ms. Anne Rice was pretty spot on, perhaps she is a vampire or a familiar." Her mind couldn't help but wonder about that, maybe she would find out after the young woman was awake and moving about.

"I'm not sure if you can hear us, but my friend Angela sat with you through out the night, and I'm going to stay with you until you wake." Leaning forward she couldn't help but touch her hand, hoping that gentle contact would put her at ease.

Leaning back, Ruby figured she could share somethings about herself to the woman, perhaps if she could hear, when she woke up, it would help her recognize her and Angela. "When I first met Deacon, I thought he was beautiful, but unbeknownst to me, he was a vampire. That truly was a shock to find out." Letting out a sigh, "I know that your recent experience with vampires was horrific, but I want you to know that we are working to find them, kill them, and set an example to the vampire community that this was not acceptable."

Closing her eyes, Ruby couldn't help but feel sad, wiping her face, "I don't know what you want to do when you are awake, but regardless of your choices, be it stay here, or go home, I will do everything in my power to help you and protect you." Shaking her head clear of the emotions, Ruby picked up the book, and started to read out loud where Angela left off.

It was close to a little over an hour, and Ruby could see that her fingers were starting to move, slowly standing, Ruby walked to the door, "Dr. Taylor, she's starting to wake." She said through the house, hoping that she could hear her. Keeping the door open, Ruby walked back to the young woman, her eyes roaming her eyes focusing on her face, trying to detect any signs of pain. Grateful that there were none. Smiling down Ruby could see her eyes starting to flutter, and soon she was staring into her hazel eyes.

Moving slowly to sit on the bed near her, "Welcome back. My name is Ruby, I'm the Lady of House Vangr, you are in my home." She said, keeping her voice soft and calm. Her eyes slowly moving around her face, hoping to see that she wasn't afraid of her.

Georgia nodded. Feeling weak, "Thank you." She muttered, her voice seemed harsh, but she wasn't allowed to speak for such a long time. She wanted to ask what day it was, but as she turned her eyes to the blonde sitting near her, 3 other women walked into the room. Tensing at their presence, she felt nervous, were they going to hurt her?

Ruby gently squeezed her hand, "It's OK," point to everyone, "That's Dr. Taylor, her nurse Megan, and that is my friend Angela." Standing up to get out of the way, "Just nod, is it OK if the doctor checks you out?" While she wanted the doctor to check her over, she wouldn't let anyone touch her again unless she was OK with it.

Keeping her eyes locked Ruby, she nodded. Her eyes watching the doctor move towards her. Keeping herself still.

Dr. Taylor moved slowly, knowing that abuse victims tend to be skittish, as the women locked her eyes on hers, "Alright, is it OK if I check your heartrate, and your injuries?" Taking her queue from Lady Vangr by asking permission before she touched her.

"Yes." Her eyes following every movement.

Starting with her legs, Avery moved up her body, seeing her flinch as she touched her ribs, "You were severely dehydrated, and emaciated, but other than a few bruises, nothing major." Pulling out her light pen, "I'm going to check your pupils." Smiling when they were both equal and reactive. Lastly, she pulled out her stethoscope listening to her heart and lungs, smiling as everything seemed to be on the mend.

Looking up at Ruby, "For the next week, she needs to take everything slowly, I recommend getting her protein shakes, being without food for so long, it could make her sick to eat regular food right away." Looking down at the young woman, "Drink plenty of water, juice, and start slowly with foods, breads, pastas, for the first few days after a shake." Pulling out her business card, she handed it to Ruby, "Unless you need me to stay, call me if you need anything." Hoping that she would be able to go home, not that it wasn't pleasant here, she wanted her own things.

Taking the card, Ruby nodding, "Thank you Dr. Taylor." Looking at the nurse, "Thank you Megan." Turning her attention to Raquel that was standing at the doorway, "Would you be so kind and help them get their equipment to their truck." Touching Angela's hand, "Please go make her a protein shake."

As everyone moved around, Ruby sat back down, "Do you know your name?" she asked, wondering if she was aware of who she was.

Giving her a small smile, "Georgia Evans." Trying to sit up, but she was so weak, she couldn't move.

Ruby carefully lifted her to where her back was against the headboard, "Better?"

Nodding, "Yes. Thank you." Looking down at her hair and body, realizing that she was clean, "Who cleaned me up?" she asked, curious about her current situation.

Hearing Angela and Raquel walk in, Mercury not far behind them, Ruby just smiled at her young lady, "We all did." Reaching for the protein shake, "Thank you Angela." Lifting it to her lips, "Slowly, please."

Georgia leaned forward, slowly drinking, and for the first time in what felt like forever, felt safe. While she wanted to down every ounce of the drink, she knew it would just make her sick. Stopping herself, she leaned back against the board, "Thank you so much."

"Of course." Looking around the room, her eyes settling on Angela, she could hear Alexander in the living room, Deacon was sitting with him, "Angela, you can head out, you and Alexander should talk." Knowing that they needed to start bonding.

Blushing a bit, "Are you sure?" Not wanting to leave Ruby with all the work.

"Get out, have some fun." Smirking as she gave her hug and walked out the door. Feeling Mercury and Raquel stare at her, "Seems like Angela and Alexander are mates." Chuckling at their faces. "I know, I was just as surprised."

Turning her attention back to the young woman, "The brunette that just left is my former familiar, she is now a mate to a vampire, so that changes some things." Pointing to the other two women, "Mercury is my 2nd, and her love Raquel is my friend. While you're in the house, you will be safe, and protected." Hoping to reassure her. Lifting the drink to her lips again, smiling as she took a few more sips and stopped.

Georgia was shocked, she didn't know that vampires took such good care of humans, "Why are you being so kind?" Scared it was all an elaborate ruse.

Touching her knee, "Because no one deserves to suffer the way you did." Gently rubbing her, "Now, if you are ready, I would like to know how you came to be in that house." Hoping that she was willing to share her story.

Wiping her eyes, frowning at how small her wrists looked now, "My father is a familiar, his master is a man named Jason, don't know is last name." Taking a second to gather herself, and not let the emotions take over, "He gave me to him, because my father screwed up, I don't know exactly what he did wrong, I did my best to stay out of his business, and next thing I knew, I was in the basement, having my blood drawn every week."

Ruby closed her eyes, feeling her body shake with rage, taking several breaths, she didn't want to scare Georgia anymore that she already was. Finally feeling a bit steady, she found the woman looking at her, "I'm so sorry that your father did that." Sharing a look with Mercury, she wanted to know if they got the leader of the house that they raided.

Mercury kissed Raquel's cheek, "I'll find out." With that she zipped out of the room.

Georgia gasped, never really seeing vampires move. "Sorry." Shaking her head, "What's today's date?" she asked, wanting to know how long she was there.

Ruby frowned, realizing that she could have been there for days, or weeks. "Nov. 8th."

She felt the tears well up in her eyes, almost 3 months. "I've been in the basement since August." Covering her mouth, Georgia couldn't help but cry, while her life wasn't great, it was hers, and her father gave her away like she meant nothing to him, if her mom was alive, this wouldn't have happened.

Crying harder, Georgia could feel her body starting to shake, and hyperventilate. Before she completely succumbed to the panic, she felt arms wrap themselves around her.

Rocking her back and forth, "Shhhhh." Gently stroking her head, "You are safe. I promise you, that no one will hurt you again" Her eyes filling with tears, if this Jason wasn't dead, he would be soon, and for the father, he wouldn't make it to the end of the week. Looking over at Raquel, whispering to her, "Find the father. I want answers."

Raquel smirked, "You'll know everything before sunrise." She whispered back. Looking over at Georgia, "I'm glad you're awake." With that she darted out of the room, ready to pull anything she could on Mr. Evans.

Georgia watched at she left so quickly, "Why is everyone leaving?" Scared that something was happening.

Ruby didn't want to lie, "I have them confirming information about the vampires and houses we took out last night." Frowning when she felt her stiffen, "It's OK, we are cleaning up the vampire community, it's time that they answer for their crimes."

Holding her tighter, "Thank you." It was all she could say. Not knowing what happens next, "What do I do now?" She was sure that she didn't have a job anymore, not coming in for months was probably a way to get fired. She damn sure wasn't going to go back to her dad's house. She was truly alone in the world.

Sitting back, Ruby looked her in the eyes, "That is up to you, you can stay here, work for me, or you can go anywhere, I'll make sure you are taken care of." She hoped that she would choose to stay, she had to have heart and fight to survive as long as she did.

"I would like to stay, if that's OK." While she wasn't sure what being a familiar to Ruby would be like, but based on what she was seeing, it was 100% better than anything else that she had going for her.

Tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear, "Then you will." Realizing that she has been laying for months, and now again, "Would you like to take a walk around the room, I promise to keep you upright."

Georgia just nodded, smiling as Ruby moved the sheets and held lifted up to onto her feet. Looking down, she could see how skinny she really was. "Oh God. I look terrible."

Ruby gently held her as she took several steps, "You are beautiful. Don't worry Georgia, in no time you'll be back to a healthy weight, and your training will begin." Smiling as she made it to the bathroom, moving to place her on the toilet, Ruby turned the faucet on and turned her back, trying to give her some privacy.

Flushing the toilet, Georgia felt a little embarrassed as Ruby lifted her and helped her to the sink, but after slowly washing her hands, she wanted to brush her teeth. As she went to ask, she found Ruby holding a toothbrush. Carefully taking it, it was a slow process, her arms were tired, but she didn't stop until she felt clean.

Watching her power through only impressed Ruby more, waiting until she was done, Ruby put everything away, and grabbed her hairbrush. Leading her back to the bed, she carefully got the back of her head, and soon her hair was smooth, and completely knot free.

Feeling a tear run down her face, Georgia was so shocked that Ruby, a head of vampire house was taking such good care of her, "Thank you." She said, yawning as she did so. "Sorry." Feeling embarrassed for yawning in front of her.

Helping her lay down, Ruby smiled down at her, tucking her in, "You are most welcome Georgia." Closing the blinds, "Sleep, and if you need anything please holler, someone will be in to help you."

As she felt the pull of sleep grab ahold, Georgia couldn't help but finally feel at peace, she was finally safe, and if it took the rest of her life, she would do anything to pay back Ruby and her family for their kindness.

Sensing that she was asleep, Ruby shut the door, leaving it open just a tad. Making her way to the living room, she could see that everyone, but Angela and Alexander were there, but there were others, she recognized them from the loft, Deacon's maids. "It's a pleasure to see you guys again." She said to them, as she moved towards Deacon.

Rebecca and Melanie just smiled, "Pleasure is ours." Turning on their heels, they went to go set up their quarters, knowing that if anyone needed them, they would call.

Deacon pulled Ruby into his lap, "Mercury and Raquel are on their mission now," nuzzling her neck, "How are you holding up?" Knowing that Ruby would want justice for that girl, her new familiar.

"I'll be fine." Her eyes finding his, "This Jason better be dead, and that father, well, I look forward to having a long conversation with him." Smirking at the thought, "But perhaps I'll let you handle it. You're far more creative that I am."

Chuckling in her ear, "All you have to do is ask, my goddess." Letting out a sigh, "Would you like to go for a walk around the property?" Knowing that she needed some fresh air.

Jumping up, her eyes found Quinn sniffing the air, realizing that he probably is starting to smell Georgia. But that wasn't important now, "So, when are you going on your trip?" she asked, holding Deacon's hand.

Shaking his head, Quinn could swear he was smelling lilac in the house, whatever it was, it was great. Looking over at his friend and leader, "I'm leaving tonight, I'll only be gone for about 3 months. I think it's good for me to see the world, and who knows, convince some people to come here and swear themselves to your house." Hoping that he would be able to send good people, strong, smart, and not a bunch of shitheads.

Stepping away from Deacon, she hugged the man, "Please be safe. Contact us ever so often, please." Stepping back towards her mate.

Smiling at her, "You know I will. Can't get rid of me that easily." Extending his hand to Deacon, "See you soon Boss."

Deacon rolled his eyes, "Yeah. Don't do anything too stupid. Ruby would miss you." He teased. But he knew that over the last few months, his opinion of the man changed, and he would miss him too.

Quinn tilted his head back, chuckling at his statement, "You know me boss, can't guarantee not doing something stupid." Picking up his bag, "I'll see you guys soon." As he headed out the door, he was looking forward to this adventure, is first stop was Scandinavia, hoping to find some cool artifacts for the house, and also visit Deacon's homeland.

Ruby wiped a tear as she watched him leave, she knew that it was important for them to periodically explore and create new friendships, which would bring allies in times of need. Letting the wave of emotion pass over her, she found Deacon watching her, "Shut up please." She said, her voice holding humor.

Chuckling a bit, Deacon lifted her onto his shoulder, and darted out the door, taking her to the treehouse that he had built for their future children. Jumping up onto the deck, he couldn't help but enjoy how she laughed as he put her down. His eyes focusing on hers, he would never get sick of her eyes watching him, it always brought him such inner peace. Gently tucking some hair behind her ear, "My goddess."

Leaning into his hand, "My vampire." Kissing his wrist, "I didn't take you for a treehouse kind of guy." She teased. Her eyes wandering around, this was more than just a little old treehouse, it was a tiny apartment in the trees, "This is beautiful." Enjoying how it looked more like a Viking lodge.

Snorting, "I'm not, but someday we will have kids, and I figured best to have a few things ready, if anything to give us a reason to keep trying for them." Wrapping his arm around her waist and pinning her to the wall. Enjoying how her legs wrapped around his waist, using his free arm he gently snaked his way up her dress, ripping her panties off her body.

Biting her lip, Ruby just let him explore her body, enjoying how is fingers felt on her overheated skin, closing her eyes, she was lost in the sensation of it all, "Please." She begged, wanting to feel him inside of her body.

Smirking at her, keeping her pinned to the wall, Deacon carefully dropped his pants, using the tip of his cock to tease her clit. "Beg me." Needing to hear her beg him for his cock.

Looking up into his eyes, Ruby could feel that his hands were gripping her wrists, she wanted him, needed him, and knew that a part of him always wanted her to submit to him, and regardless of why or when, she always would. "PLEASE, I need you." Rolling her hips as much as she could, "Make me cum baby."

Growling into her ear, unable to hold back any longer, Deacon surged his cock forward, enjoying how her pussy gripped him, it truly was the sweetest torture. "Jesus," groaning into her ear. Keeping her wrists pinned, he slammed himself deep into her, enjoying how her body squeezed him.

Tightening her legs around his waist, Ruby did her best to roll her hips, but she was limited in her movements. Gasping as he moved within her, never once relenting, "So close." Crying out, always wanting more.

Hearing her cry out was what pushed him to the edge, leaning forward he sank his teeth deep into her neck, groaning as her blood washed over his tongue. Reaching down in between their bodies, rubbing her clit with his knuckle, enjoying how her body arched towards his finger, while he wanted to order her to cum, he didn't want to stop enjoying her blood. Pushing his finger a little harder into her, he could feel her body starting to shake, enjoying how her pussy gripped his cock.
Ruby's eyes rolled to the back of her head, she wanted to sink her teeth into his neck, but the force of her orgasm shook her, "Deacon." Using her thighs to hold him closer, she could feel his cum coating her walls. Unable to keep her eyes open as her brain got foggy, she felt the back of her head hit the wall. "I needed that." She murmured out.

Lifting her closer to his body, Deacon moved to the inside of the lodge, gently laying her on the floor. "Me too my goddess." Wrapping his arms around her, he gently nuzzled her neck, "when do you want to marry?" he asked her, realizing that with everything going on, they never really had that conversation.

Rubbing his forearm, Ruby took a moment to really think about it, while she would go do it tonight, no dress or anything, she knew as a House leader, that wasn't something that could be done. "We'll do it when Quinn is back. I want our family to be there, everyone is I get is required because of tradition, but it will mean more to me having us all together."

Chucking, "OK, well we'll get everything ready and have it planned out for the full moon in February." Rolling her on her stomach, Deacon used his knees to spread her legs apart, moving his hips forward, he could feel his cum starting to drip out of her, entering her slowly he kept a strong but steady pace, wanting this moment to be gentle.

Hours passed, and Ruby finally felt sated, while every moment with him was amazing, sometimes when he was gentle, she felt her connection to him grow. Letting out a very content sigh, she couldn't help but enjoy the slow walk back to their home, looking down at their hands, feeling the love between them flow as naturally as breathing. It was a moment another moment in time that she knew that she would always remember.

Across the property on the boat dock, Angela watched as the stars sparkled over the bay, never in her life had she seen anything so beautiful, while she lived in Minnesota, St. Paul wasn't exactly a nature preserve either. Sitting on the porch swing, her eyes took in Alexander, looking beautiful but deadly at the same time.

Realizing that she was staring at him, she couldn't help but blush, "Sorry." She coughed out. Feeling a little stupid. "I guess we should probably get to know each other." Remember Ruby say something about playing 20 questions with Deacon in the beginning. Wondering if the man would be up for something so juvenile.

Leaning back, his eyes watched her, chuckling a bit when she apologized for staring. "It's alright, I've been watching you as well, my angel." Enjoying watching her cheeks turn pink. Lightly touching her cheek, moving a piece of her chocolate brown hair off her face, "What about me do you want to know?" While he was still nervous about sharing what kind of young man he was, Frost was more so, and yet, Ruby was standing at his side.

Unable to stop herself from leaning into his hand, Angela looked up into his eyes, wondering why they were a yellow, "How come you have almost yellow eyes, they remind me of a wolf's eyes."

In his many centuries alive, he never met anyone brave enough to ask him, but it shouldn't be surprised, she was his mate, her body wasn't afraid of him. "My family is a direct descendant of the first vampire. There weren't many that was turned, but the few that were bitten directly by him, took on a lot of his traits, the eyes are what was inherited." Taking a moment to watch her, "The other family that I know of their trait that they inherited was the long fangs." Extending his, "These are about the average," using his fingers to show a size comparison, "this is about the length of theirs."

Angela gasped, "Wow." The first vampire? That was a surprise, "Is the first vampire still alive?" she asked, curious about him.

Shrugging, "No one really knows. Rumor is that he got disenchanted with world around him and locked himself away to sleep through eternity." Remember the stories told by his grandfather, who was one of the first bitten to be turned.

"How long ago was this? How old are you?" she asked, not meaning to bombard him.

Smirking at her, "Over 6,000 years ago, and I my dear, am almost 4,000 years old." Chuckling at her face. "I am an ancient." Feeling a bit odd saying out loud.

Angela blinked, and stared for a few moments, "You literally watched the world change." She always loved history, if she wasn't so concerned with making money, she would have wanted to be a historian, perhaps that would be something that she could consider now, her whole future has changed because of her being his mate.

Rubbing his face, "I have. The world today, while beautiful in its own ways, could never truly compare with the ancient cities of Macedonia." Chuckling at her face, "That is where I was born, and grew up." Alexander went into great detail about his life, and childhood, even the wars that he enjoyed participating in, but through it all, he never once smelt her fear, or seen distain on her face as he spoke of his reckless youth.

Hanging on every word, Angela could almost picture the world as he described it, jealous that she would never see it with her own eyes. Listening to him talk about the bloodshed, enjoying war, made her a tad uneasy, but taking away the fact he was a vampire, in those ancient times, war and blood were common.

Looking at him, Angela could see that he was nervous about telling her this, but she let him finish. Once he was done, she reached over, placing her hand on his, "You shouldn't be ashamed of your past, it makes you who you are now." Hoping that he understood that she wasn't upset with him.

His eyes immediately went to where their hands were touching, enjoying the gentle current of electricity that was moving through them, "Thank you, my angel." Clearing his throat, surprised by the emotional relief he was feeling, his eyes found her deep blue ones watching him, "While I will always be a warrior, I only try to kill those as it is needed, not blindly."

Angela smiled up at him, "Well that's better than mass murder for fun." She joked. Looking back over the water, she knew it was her turn to explain her life, while it wasn't as amazing as his, it was all she had, and she liked to think that was what made her who she was now.

"My mom died a few years ago, she was an addict, I never knew my father." Letting out a frustrated sigh, "I could potentially have siblings, but I don't know them. Growing up was hard, my mom cared more about her next fix then raising me, and honestly if it wasn't for the little old lady that lived in the next apartment, I probably would have starved to death."

Feeling a tear, she moved to wipe it only to find that his finger was there. Giving a small smile, she continued, "I worked my ass off just trying to make it through school and graduate high school, and if Ms. Johnson didn't let me study in her home, I probably wouldn't have. I have been working since I was about 15, doing everything I could to keep the lights on for mom. But I did it, I graduated, didn't get a scholarship, and the banks wouldn't loan me money for college, so I started working fulltime, saving every dime I could, and about a month before I met Ruby, I was able to pay for a few night classes."

Her eyes found his watching hers, "When Ruby saved me, she promised I would be able to go to school, which I will be starting in a couple weeks." Stopping her train of thought, "Are you going to prevent me from going?" Wondering where he stood on that.

Alexander bit his inner cheek from growling during her story, how could someone so young have seen so much, worked so hard, and still struggle? But hearing that she was still interested in pursuing her education, pleased him. "You my dear, are more than welcome to go to school, but as we grow as a couple and you transition, you may need a bit of a sabbatical, but when you are ready to go back, I will not prevent you."

Squeezing his hand, "Thank you." Blinking away the tears, she felt him pull her to his chest, never in her life had she ever felt so safe or cherished. If this was what Ruby felt when she was near Deacon, she couldn't wait for their feelings to grow.

Alexander felt complete for the first time in his long life, keeping his arms wrapped around her, he didn't move until he started to feel the sun, knowing that she was asleep on is shoulder, he gently lifted her up, and got her to the house, his eyes finding Ruby finishing a glass of blood, "If you would escort me to her room, I was told I wasn't allowed in until she invited me."

Ruby chuckled at him and followed behind him as he walked towards Angela's space, leaning against the doorway, she saw the tenderness that he shown as he covered her in her bed. As he moved out of the room, she touched his shoulder, "I am happy for you both."

Looking down at the little blonde that he met only a few months ago, "You my dear, are the reason for the changes within our community, and because of you, I have Angela. Ruby Edwards, I am grateful to whatever God brought you into this world." With that he placed a small kiss on her temple, he made his way to his room, ready to sleep and dream of his beautiful mate.
